Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs enters prison rehab program that could reduce sentence – National

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Sean “Diddy” Combs is participating in a drug rehabilitation program in prison that could help reduce his sentence by a year, his spokesperson Juda Engelmayer said.

The program is offered at Fort Dix, the federal prison complex in New Jersey where Combs will serve his sentence.

Combs is “committed to sobriety, focused on healing, and trying to set an example for others,” Engelmayer told the New York Times.

“Mr. Combs is an active participant in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and has taken his rehabilitation process seriously from the start,” Engelmayer said. “He is fully engaged in his work, focused on growth, and committed to positive change.”

Combs has been sleeping in a nine-person room within a unit that houses around 200 people and he currently works in the chapel library, Engelmayer added.

On Friday, a report from TMZ claimed that Combs had been caught in prison drinking homemade alcohol, which Engelmayer denied.

Combs’ official X account also shared a statement denying the allegations on Monday, saying, “The rumors claiming Mr. Combs was caught with alcohol are completely false. His only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”

In an Oct. 6 filing, Combs’ legal team requested that he be placed at “FCI Fort Dix for RDAP purposes and any other available educational and occupation programs” in order to “address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”

The news of Combs’ participation in the rehabilitation program comes two weeks after his prison release date was revealed following his sentencing.

The 55-year-old disgraced hip-hop mogul was originally scheduled to get out of prison on May 8, 2028, but the date has now been changed to June 4, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ online database.

On Oct. 3, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to just over four years in prison and a fine of US$500,000, the maximum possible, for his conviction on federal prostitution-related offences. He will also be under five years’ supervised release after his time in prison is served.

In his ruling, Subramanian said that “a history of good works can’t wash away the record in this case, which shows that you abused the power and control over the lives of women who you professed to love.”

“You were no John,” he added. “You were more than that, even if your currency was satisfying your sexual desires instead of money.”

Subramanian said a substantial sentence is required “to send a message to abusers and victims alike that exploitation and violence against women is met with real accountability.”

Federal prosecutors had asked that Combs, 55, be sentenced to at least 11 years and three months in prison. Combs’ lawyers urged the judge to sentence him to no longer than 14 months, which would have resulted in his near-immediate release, as he has already served nearly 13 months in a Brooklyn jail.

While addressing the judge, Combs thanked Subramanian for “giving me the chance to finally speak up for myself,” as the former rapper did not testify during his trial.

“One of the hardest things that I’ve had to handle is having to be quiet. Not being able to express how sorry I am for my actions,” Combs said in his statement to the court.

“I want to personally apologize again to Cassie Ventura for any harm or hurt that I’ve caused her – emotionally or physically.”

Combs called his conduct “disgusting, shameful and sick.”

“Because of my decisions, I lost my freedom, I lost the opportunity to effectively raise my children and be there for my mother,” Combs said. “I lost all my businesses, I lost my career, I totally destroyed my reputation.”

Combs said he’s “lost my self-respect” and has been “humbled and broken to my core.”

“I hate myself right now. I got stripped down to nothing,” Combs said. “I want to apologize to my seven children. Y’all deserve better.”

The sentencing marked the conclusion of Combs’ New York trial, which began on May 5.

Combs’ legal team filed a notice of appeal on Oct. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York from the Oct. 3 judgment. Details of the appeal have not been made public other than the legal filing.

Diddy Partially Wins Prison Request As Judge Allows Regional Placement & Substance Ab*se Program Consideration

Diddy Partially Wins Prison Request As Judge Allows Regional Placement & Substance Ab*se Program Consideration

Diddy’s request to serve his sentence at a specific New Jersey prison has been partly denied, though the judge is granting him some flexibility.

According to a court reporter, the newly filed documents reveal that Judge Arun Subramanian declined to recommend FCI Fort Dix by name, stating he “will recommend a facility in the geographic location of the defense’s choosing.” The judge also added that Diddy “be considered for admission to any available substance ab*se program.”

Earlier this week, Diddy’s attorney Teny Geragos asked that he be placed at Fort Dix to help him “address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.” His lawyer Mark Geragos warned that Diddy “will have a target on his back” in other facilities.

While the Bureau of Prisons has the final say, this ruling gives Diddy a chance to remain close to home while pursuing rehabilitation.

What are your thoughts on Diddy’s prison stint?

Netflix Expands Creative Asia Program, Unveils New Initiatives

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Netflix unveiled an expanded slate of creative development initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region during its Creative Asia conference at the Busan International Film Festival, with executives highlighting the company’s commitment to nurturing local talent and improving production standards.

Speaking at the conference, Karen Park, BIFF program director, emphasized the shifting landscape for Asian cinema. “Asian creativity has always been there — it just wasn’t being seen,” Park said. “Now, thanks to global platforms and shifting attitudes, that’s finally changing. The Busan International Film Festival has become a massive stage for showcasing Asian cinema to the world.”

Park credited Netflix’s global reach with breaking down cultural barriers, noting that “now that everyone is watching ‘Squid Game,’ subtitles aren’t scary any more.” She added that the shift represents more than just consumption: “People are starting to see Asian stories as complex, emotional, not ‘oriental’, not ‘exotic’, but universal human stories.”

Minyoung Kim, Netflix’s APAC VP of content (ex-India), outlined the company’s partnership philosophy. “Authenticity isn’t a formula – it’s founded in relationships,” Kim said. “The only way to achieve that is to work with local creators, local talent, and a wide variety of the best local production partners.” Since beginning local productions nearly a decade ago, Netflix has partnered with over 250 local production partners across the APAC region.

The company unveiled several new and expanding initiatives. In Australia, Netflix is launching Lumina, a program providing neurodiverse individuals with pathways into the visual effects industry through partnership with Bus Stop Films. Participants will receive training and on-set work placement on the upcoming local production “My Brilliant Career.”

Creative Asia itself is expanding to the Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival in Indonesia this December, connecting emerging Southeast Asian creators with masterclasses and networking opportunities.

Netflix’s regional training programs have shown significant impact. The company’s VFX Academy in Korea, now in its fifth iteration, has trained more than 330 students over 2.5 years, with 70% securing industry jobs through partnerships with studios including Eyeline Studios, Westworld, VA Corp, Dexter Studios, and Gulliver Studios.

Other ongoing initiatives include the Reel Life program in Southeast Asia, which recently concluded its third annual event in Bangkok with 100 participants, and on-the-job training programs in Taiwan for emerging writers and production professionals working on Netflix Originals projects.

Sung Q Lee, Netflix’s APAC head of roduction, underscored the company’s focus on improving working conditions. “Our mission isn’t simply to comply with local standards, but to help set new ones,” Lee said. “We also want production teams to have access to the best skills training, so they can use the latest technology or forge new career paths in jobs that have never existed in their countries before.”

A production panel featuring Yongsu Lee (producer, Korea), Chartchai “Nat” Ketnust (CEO of Whitelight, Thailand), and Momoko Nishiyama (intimacy coordinator, Japan) highlighted evolving industry practices. Lee, who is producing the upcoming Netflix series “Can This Love Be Translated?”, described implementing daily crew briefings to maintain safety standards across international locations.

Nishiyama noted the growing acceptance of intimacy coordinators in Japan, a role that emerged only five years ago. “People on set feel safer, more empowered to speak up, and there’s much more open discussion,” she said. “Netflix brings in separate experts for things like mental health, harassment, and respect training.”

From 2021-24, Netflix’s skills and talent development initiatives across APAC have reached more than 8,000 people, demonstrating the company’s commitment to building sustainable creative ecosystems throughout the region.

Disney representatives, Kimmel searched for way to defuse Kirk anger before program pulled

Disney representatives, Kimmel searched for way to defuse Kirk anger before program pulled

– Walt Disney representatives and talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel raced to find the right words on Wednesday to calm a social media furor that erupted following criticism of his remarks about slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters.

Kimmel’s comments in his monologue on Monday had angered many, and the reaction reached a fever pitch on Wednesday, including death threats that raised concerns for the safety of Kimmel and his staff, the source said. The late-night host prepared to make a statement, but Kimmel and Disney representatives could not find language that they agreed would not further inflame the situation, the source said.

As the show’s 4:30 p.m. taping time approached, Disney CEO Bob Iger and Disney Entertainment co-Chairman Dana Walden agreed that the best approach would be to take the show off the air and later find a way to bring Kimmel back, the source said. Walden informed Kimmel of the decision.

A representative for Kimmel did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment.

Executives will meet with Kimmel to discuss the future of his program, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, citing three people with knowledge of the matter.

Disney-owned ABC said it pulled Kimmel’s show off the air over comments by the late-night show host about the assassination of Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist and co-founder of the nonprofit Turning Point USA and a close political ally of President Donald Trump. Many in Hollywood decried the decision, saying the company was bowing to political pressure and that it was an assault on free speech.

Kimmel, who has frequently targeted Trump on his comedy show, said in his monologue on Monday: “We hit some new lows over the weekend, with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

As Disney wrestled with the gathering social media controversy, Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr, in a podcast appearance on Wednesday, said that Kimmel had misled viewers about the alleged shooter’s MAGA affiliation. Carr also raised the possibility that the FCC could revoke the broadcast licenses of local television stations that carry such “garbage.”

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said in an interview with conservative podcaster Benny Johnson. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel.”

The nation’s largest local television station group, Nexstar Media, and Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns many of ABC’s local TV affiliates, said they would stop airing the show following Kimmel’s monologue. Sinclair said Kimmel’s show would be suspended until he apologizes to the Kirk family. Nexstar and Sinclair both have merger deals pending before the FCC.

Trump, during a state visit to Britain on Thursday, said Kimmel had been punished for saying “a horrible thing” about Kirk, who is credited with building support for Trump among young conservative voters.

Shannon Nadj of Hot Pilates Teams Up With Sam Cutler of Mindfull for the Ultimate Fall Reset Program

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

For celebrity fitness guru Shannon Nadj, fall is more than back-to-school season. It’s a chance to reset the mind, body, and soul through her back-to-sweat routine. That’s why this year the Hot Pilates founder partnered with lifestyle medicine coach Sam Cutler to create a holistic wellness experience for a seasonal recharge.

“By committing to a program, you join an amazing community of people with the same goals. You’re more likely to hold yourself accountable and show up. … Set it and forget it is the name of the game,” Nadj says.

The trainer, who’s worked with stars like Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Sofia Richie, launched her Reset, Restart, and Refocus schedule to help clients transition into September with strength, intention, and balance.

Hot Pilates

And to turn up the heat while adjusting to cooler temperatures, Nadj is offering complimentary access to Cutler’s Mindfull nutrition platform for the 7-Day Energy Reset filled with fresh recipes, educational videos, and community support.

“Many of us are coming off of drinking summer spritzers, traveling, and having more relaxed schedules, so right now, self-care is about detoxing from the inside out,” the Pilates pro says.

Cutler adds, “When routines ramp up, whether it’s back to school, work, or managing everything at home, it’s easy to put yourself last. That usually means less sleep, more stress, and depending on coffee or sugar just to push through. … This reset helps you break that cycle by using whole foods, sustained energy sources, and proven nutrition strategies to restore steady, natural energy.”

The Fit Fatale/Instagram

And fueling up with healthy options goes hand-in-hand with Nadj’s current wellness regimen, which includes three reformer sessions and three mat Pilates classes per week, plus a 21-day cleanse free of sugar, alcohol, gluten, and dairy.

“We need proper nutrition to power through the progression of our workouts. … I’ve been making a smoothie with frozen blueberries, half a banana, spring water, and Thorne Medi-Clear SGS Chocolate protein powder for breakfast. For lunch, I’ll have a hearty salad with veggies like broccoli, spinach, or asparagus, and proteins like chicken, steak, lamb, or fish,” she shares.

But, if you’re just acclimating to the leaves changing color, the Harvard-trained food expert emphasizes that simple swaps can also make an impact.

The Fit Fatale/Instagram

“When you find a way of eating that works for you and is flexible enough that you don’t have to skip out on life, it becomes something you can carry with you forever. … Many people see drastic shifts from increasing fiber through leafy greens or cutting down on processed ingredients. … Our philosophy is to focus on eating 80% one-ingredient, whole foods from the earth, and leaving 20% for whatever you truly desire.”

For both entrepreneurs, autumn isn’t just about hitting refresh, it’s about laying the groundwork for the months ahead.

“The habits and routines we establish in the fall will help us as we head into the extremes of winter. … We need all the energy we can get before the busy, and sometimes chaotic, holiday season. Show up today and your future self will thank you,” Nadj shares.

Shannon Nadj/Instagram

Cutler explains, “What most people miss is that eating healthy isn’t about adding in another wellness habit or life-changing product. … I eat similarly all year round, focusing on leafy greens, lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats, while lowering processed ingredients. With that said, I love to seek out the best seasonal produce and nostalgic dishes that help us embrace the time of year.”

Participants will refine their ideas with script development, music composition, and costume design insights from Sarah Paulson, Kerry Washington, and Jane Fonda, in between enjoying candid conversations with Lucy Liu, Olivia Wilde, Tessa Thompson, and more industry leaders.

The workshop ends with a live pitch session, where finalists will present their projects to a jury that includes Fahy and Rae, plus Jenny Slate, Allison Janney, and Kaitlyn Dever. One team is then granted full financing to make their short film with support from Tribeca Studios, while the four additional teams will walk away with development grants.

“Through Her Lens isn’t just a program — it’s a community Tribeca and CHANEL have built with purpose,” Jane Rosenthal, Co-Founder and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises, said in a press release.

“Throughout these ten years, we’ve created a space where women filmmakers champion each other’s work, alumni open doors for one another, and belonging to this network truly means something in our industry. In partnership with CHANEL, we’ve been steadfast in our commitment to amplify voices that have always been here but too often go unheard,” she added.

“Through Her Lens is about consistency, perseverance, and meaningful change — the kind that shifts the very fabric of our culture at a moment when it’s needed most,” Rosenthal said.
