bitchy | Eden: Prince Harry ‘has serious reservations about American schools’

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Last weekend, we talked about the curious story, via the Mail’s Richard Eden, that Prince Harry suddenly wants his two children to be educated in Britain. Not just educated in the UK, but he wants them to attend British boarding schools. The story made zero sense if you actually listen to what Harry and Meghan have always said about their kids and wanting them to grow up away from the royal institution. Meghan even said recently that she wants her kids to stay close for as long as possible, and I’m sure Harry feels the same way. The whole “educated in the UK” thing is part of a larger narrative the British press is trying to force onto the Sussexes, that they’re desperate to come back, desperate to be back in the royal fold, desperate to do William and Kate’s work and desperate to educate their kids alongside the Wales kids. Well, Eden is back on his bullsh-t and doubling down on his claims.

When I disclosed in my Daily Mail social diary, Eden Confidential, last Saturday that the Duke of Sussex wanted his children to be educated in Britain, the story was met with predictable scorn from Harry and Meghan’s supporters. ‘No friend of Prince Harry would ever speak to you’ ,was one of the less abusive comments. ‘I don’t believe it,’ remarked another social media user. ‘Why would Harry want his kids to move to the UK when he’s so happy in the States?’

The duke’s friend whom I quoted had spoken to him during his visit to this country last week. ‘I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children here in the UK,’ the pal said. ‘Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their niece and nephews are enjoying,’ he added.

My contact was not the only old friend with whom the duke was keen to discuss the subject. Indeed, it seems to have been dominating Harry’s thoughts during his visit back home. Joss Stone, the pop star with whom Harry has been friends since she sang at a fundraising event for his father’s charity, The Prince’s Trust, two decades ago, recently moved back to Britain from Nashville, Tennessee. She has four children with her American husband, Cody DaLuz, and they wanted to educate their eldest, Violet, aged four, in Devon, where the singer grew up.

‘Maybe Harry will move back, too,’ she told Hello! magazine after chatting to him at the WellChild Awards in London. ‘That would be nice. He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children. It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back – for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends, and a strong sense of belonging and most importantly in a safe environment.’

…I can disclose that Harry apparently has serious reservations about American schools and seems determined that his son, Prince Archie, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, should be educated in Britain. Archie is only six years old and Lilibet, who was controversially given Queen Elizabeth’s pet name, is four, so they are unlikely to be sent to boarding school across the Atlantic any time soon. Their cousin Prince George, for example, won’t start boarding school (probably Eton) until next year.

Harry’s plan for his children, who have American accents, may lead to a battle with his wife, who is said to consider sending children to boarding school ‘barbaric’. The friend conceded: ‘There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan. The King, however, is delighted.’

That comment suggests the duke has mentioned the plan to his father, whom he met for tea at Clarence House last week – their first encounter in 19 months. The next step is to return with Meghan and their children, as Harry told The Guardian newspaper last weekend. ‘This week has definitely brought that closer,’ he said. Harry hopes by the time his children are of an age to attend school in Britain, he and his wife will be spending much more time here, possibly living in a royal residence if relations with the King continue to improve. First, though, he must convince Meghan their children’s future is in Britain, the country she left in such a hurry.

[From The Daily Mail]

It just occurred to me that this is yet another attempt to create a “wedge issue” between Harry and Meghan. This is far from the first time the Windsors and the press have attempted something like this. They believe that if only they can find some weak point in the Sussex marriage, then magically Harry will divorce Meghan and move back to the UK…with the kids, who will be promptly sent off to British boarding schools. Anyway, this is pretty sad. Britain is not the only place where people can find community, and there are plenty of great schools in California. Instead of creating these involved fantasies about Archie going to Eton, shouldn’t royalists acknowledge that Meghan and her children are not going to step one foot in England without full royal protection, which would need to be ordered by the king?

Prince Harry and Prince William to reconcile ‘in the not-too-distant future’

Prince Harry and Prince William will reconcile in the near future.

Prince Harry and Prince William to reconcile ‘in the not-too-distant future’

The brothers have been estranged ever since the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, quit as senior royals and gave a tell-all interview about their issues with Royal Family in 2020 but a close pal of Harry, 41, believes they will soon patch up their relationship.

Alex Rayner, who has remained close with Harry ever since they took part in a North Pole charity trek together in 2012, told the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential column: “As soon as the opportunity presents itself, we’ll see a wonderful embrace between the two brothers. Absolutely.

“I would hope [it will take place in the next few months]. Certainly, if not by the end of the year, then next. They’ll hug in the not-too-distant future.”

Harry recently enjoyed an hour-long meeting with his father King Charles, 76, during a solo visit to the UK, without Meghan or their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

And, while Charles and Harry’s relationship has also been strained, particularly since the release of Harry’s tell-all book Spare in 2023, Alex insisted their bond is “indestructible”.

He said: “A rift between father and son is never that big. A father’s love for his son is pretty indestructible.”

Following the meeting with his father, Harry – who now lives in California with his family – declared that he hopes to spend more time in Britain following a successful trip.

He told The Guardian newspaper: “Yes, I have enjoyed the week.

“I have always loved the UK and I always will love the UK. It’s been good to reconnect with the causes I am passionate about. I have been able to spend some time with people that I have known for so long. It is hard to do it from far away.”

bitchy | Prince William & Kate attended the requiem mass for the Duchess of Kent

The Duchess of Kent’s funeral is happening today. First, the Requiem Mass at Westminster Cathedral, then a private funeral in Windsor. King Charles was one of the first to arrive at the mass today, and his wife pulled out at the last minute because of illness. The Prince and Princess of Wales are in attendance at the mass – they confirmed their attendance earlier today, about an hour before Camilla pulled out. Kate wore the same pearl-and-diamond choker which she wore to QEII’s funeral. It’s her funeral bling, I guess, or they just give her that necklace for funerals, since Camilla controls the Royal Collection jewels now. I also think Kate is wearing the same black coatdress she wore to Prince Philip’s funeral?

I’m also including some photos of the other requiem mass attendees, including: Frederick Windsor and his wife Sophie Winkleman; the Earl of Snowden; and interestingly enough, Penelope Knatchbull, Countess Mountbatten of Burma. I wonder why Penny is there? Was she particularly close to the Kents?

bitchy | Platell: Prince Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for boring, sulky William & Kate

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

During Prince Harry’s four-day visit to the UK, Daily Mail columnist Amanda Platell could not shut up about how much she despised every single thing Harry was doing. Not only that, but Platell spun out several ideas for the many ways in which “King William” will eventually punish his brother. The whole thing was so toxic, it made me advocate for Harry leaving the UK and never coming back. But Harry had other ideas, obviously, and he ended up getting hugely positive coverage in the British press. Well, instead of just going all-in on her Harry hate-athon, Platell is now attempting to do the funniest volte-face of all time. “You know how I said King William will strip the Sussexes’ titles and ban them from the UK? Nevermind, William and Kate suck, actually.” I’m paraphrasing, but only barely.

Ahead of Prince Harry’s whirlwind four-day ‘pseudo royal tour’ many, myself included, dismissed it as just another desperate and calculated attempt to ingratiate himself into the royal fold. After all, that’s what he and his wife Meghan depend on to make their Netflix millions. Yet I have to confess I was perhaps too cynical. Harry’s visit brought us something we have not seen for a very long time from the royals – laughter and joy.

Which leaves many of us asking why William and Kate have decided to hide away and become the Prince and Princess of Boring. There have been fantastic pictures of Harry larking around with children in need, images like those of the cheeky Harry of old. Dare I say, the kind of pictures that Princess Diana generated during her short life even after she lost her HRH title.

And that is why Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for his estranged brother William. In my book, he should stop skulking and be the man he was born to be. While Harry was cheering up ill children, a sombre Prince William was worthily chairing a conference marking World Suicide Prevention Day in Cardiff – admittedly an important cause. While Harry was in London high-fiving staff at the Diana Awards set up in honour of their Mum, Kate was sent off to not one but two events at textile factories.

Yes it is easy for Harry to fly in for four days and capture the world’s attention, but then he followed it up with a surprise visit to Ukraine. There he promised that, after helping through his Invictus Games to rehabilitate soldiers who had lost limbs, he would offer that chance to the men, women and children in Ukraine who had been similarly wounded in the war.

And then came the bombshell. On her Fresh Hell Substack, respected royal biographer Tina Brown claimed King Charles is currently ‘less irritated’ by Prince Harry than he is by William….I have to agree with Tina Brown on one thing – that Harry’s triumphant tour has been a great success in PR terms and is ‘bad news for the Prince of Wales’.

Especially at a time when the latest survey revealed, shockingly, that support for the Monarchy has dropped from 86 percent in the Eighties to its lowest level since records began, with only half of Brits today supporting what many see as an outdated institution. The only images we ever see of William smiling is in the home videos he and Kate reluctantly release of them and the children frolicking, not on royal duties seen by the public but hidden away around one of their many homes.

[From The Daily Mail]

While Harry obviously didn’t plan on that “crumbling support for the monarchy” poll to come out in the middle of his visit, it’s hilarious that it happened that way. It was like a direct cause-and-effect before our eyes – an old, cancer-ridden king avoiding his family in a gothic castle in Scotland, a workshy heir pitifully screaming “don’t forget about me” during thrown-together last-minute events, and the charismatic ginger prince who walked away from the whole toxic lot. It feels like Kate and William actually wish they were just “boring.” Boring could be efficient, boring could be ho-hum, dutiful and visible. Instead, they’re lazy, barely visible and clearly desperate.

bitchy | Royalist: Prince William has always seen his competition with Harry as ‘zero-sum’

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Yesterday, on Twitter, I made this remark: “Having read most of the post-Harry-visit coverage in the British press, it really sounds like they’re all collectively talking around the idea that Peg is in the middle of a nervous breakdown.” We knew that Prince William would be raging and thrashing around about his brother’s four-day visit to the UK, but what I didn’t expect was seeing William called out on his behavior to this extent. People are openly talking about his fragile mental state, people are openly talking about his pitiful attempts to upstage Prince Harry last week, and people are openly talking about William’s laziness and how King Charles is deeply unhappy with his heir. It’s clear that William has been rage-briefing, but instead of just acting as stenographers to the future king, royal reporters and commentators are actually saying: wow, this guy has real issues. Speaking of, Tom Sykes’ Royalist column is a doozy: “Prince Harry’s Tour Worked. This Is William’s Worst Nightmare.” Some highlights:

What William is really mad about: It’s now apparent that William’s attempts to freeze Harry out were never just about punishing his brother for his tell-all book Spare, as useful as that cover story may have been. They were about ensuring Harry could not use the fairy dust of royalty to work his way back into the band of working royals and steal attention from him. After this past week, William’s fears look absolutely justified.

Harry’s charisma: What was striking about Harry’s trip was how easy he made it look. He zipped around the country, laughing and joking with schoolchildren, sword-fighting with balloons, high-fiving young people, flashing glimpses of the “old Harry” Britain once adored. He was upbeat, funny, relaxed—and the U.K. lapped it up. Against William and Kate’s buttoned-up image, Harry’s exuberance was a reminder of how dull the heir and his wife can seem. Their rushed diary-fillers—heritage sites and textile factories—only made Harry shine brighter.

King Charles was the one who leaked the meeting with Harry: But, make no mistake, it was Harry’s meeting with the king that really mattered. Both sides tried to dampen expectations in advance, but the choreography on the day was unmistakable. Photographers, tipped off by the palace, were waiting outside Clarence House. Insiders confirm no corners were cut: sandwiches, biscuits, and Harry’s beloved chocolate biscuit cake were all laid out. As one source told me: “It was a proper tea—everything was there.” A private reunion, yes, but also very deliberate theatre. Charles signalled to the world that Harry was back under his roof. Not a balcony return, yet, but the first step toward rehabilitation, and a direct rebuke to William.

The British press turned on a dime: Harry’s decision to stop complaining about how unfair and brutal his life is is part of the reason, but a bigger factor, I think, is the king’s endorsement. In a monarchy, nothing matters more. Where Charles leads, the public follows (see: Camilla Parker Bowles). By welcoming Harry back, Charles shifted the dial overnight. The consequences are seismic. For Charles, reconciliation makes sense against the backdrop of his illness. Frail and tired, he cannot want to face the end of his reign unreconciled with his son, or estranged from his grandchildren.

Work-shy Willy, out in the cold: For William, the shift is catastrophic. He has always seen Harry’s return as a zero-sum game: Harry’s gain is his loss. Now he has been proved right. By re-embracing Harry, Charles has left his heir dangerously exposed. William and Kate are publicly split from the king and forced to confront an agonising choice. Do they swallow their pride, reconcile with Harry, and risk the humiliation of letting him back on the balcony, half in and half out as he always wanted? Or do they hold the line, knowing they will have to sustain 50 years of cold war once William takes the throne? Either path is fraught. What is unprecedented is that Britain’s son and heir now finds himself openly at odds with the king—and the knives are out for him as never before.

[From The Royalist Substack]

This is so interesting to me: “He has always seen Harry’s return as a zero-sum game: Harry’s gain is his loss.” I’ve spoken about this for years, the short-sighted jealousy within the Windsor clan, and how they see EVERYTHING as zero-sum. That’s a huge reason why the entire Firm worked to push out Harry and Meghan, because they believed that “attention” is finite and a fixed amount, and the Sussexes were getting too much attention, leaving not enough attention for QEII, Charles, William and Kate. None of the left-behinds ever understood that Harry and Meghan would have brought more positive attention overall to the institution, and no courtier ever suggested “maybe we shouldn’t let royal jealousy dictate how we conduct the business of state.” Anyway, as I said, they’re really laying into William. It’s amazing and well-deserved.

bitchy | Mail: Prince William ‘is more determined than ever to cut Harry off altogether’

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

From where I sit, something really shifted on September 4th, which is when the Prince and Princess of Wales stepped out for an event at the Natural History Museum in London. Kate debuted a terrible blonde wig and she and William showed zero concern for the children they had shipped into the museum’s garden when it started raining really hard. The event was a complete disaster for Will and Kate, and the only reason they even stepped out then was because they were trying to be visible and working ahead of Prince Harry’s four-day visit. That rainy day was the beginning of the end – William and Kate looked absolutely pitiful as they tried to throw themselves in front of the cameras and distract from Harry’s visit last week. They still look pitiful, especially William. As predicted, William’s rage-briefings began as Harry’s visit to the UK came to a close. Everyone got a call, it was like the deranger Avengers assembling to act as stenographers to William’s incandescent BS. Katie Nicholl published her VF piece on Friday. Charlotte Griffiths got a major exclusive for the Mail on Sunday. And of course Roya Nikkhah at the Times dutifully reports whatever the Other Brother shrieks at her. Griffiths’ piece in the Mail was the big one though, and it really paints a picture of a spiteful, jealous and pitiful heir whose childish rage-attacks are worrying aides.

Prince William has ‘doubled down’ on his resolve to cut Prince Harry out of his life, in the wake of his brother’s Clarence House rapprochement with the King. It’s been exactly a year since the Sussexes launched ‘Operation Bring Harry Back In From The Cold’ – and while the Duke’s 12-month strategy has come to fruition with his father, he is no closer to contact with his brother.
Indeed, Harry’s success in the UK last week means the future King is burning with a renewed determination to rid the monarchy of the Sussexes for good.

‘William is back at the point where if you mention Prince Harry in his presence he would throw you out of the room,’ one well-placed insider admitted. ‘He’s doubling down.’

The Princess of Wales agreed to attend a Women’s Institute meeting in Berkshire with her husband on Monday at the last minute, prompting some to suggest William hoped a glamorous appearance from his wife would blow Harry off the front pages. Harry countered the move with a £1.1million pledge to Children in Need – crass to cite the amount, perhaps, but effective. A day later, Harry met his father at Clarence House for the first time in 18 months. Harry’s breathless schedule during his week-long presence in the UK, followed by a trip to Kyiv, provided some healthy competition for William.

Charles may well welcome having Harry nipping at his brother’s heels, for it could prompt the Prince and Princess of Wales to ‘up their game’ by carrying out more of those small-scale events we saw last week – the type that they would prefer not to do but which are essential to the public’s perception of the monarchy. Without the future King and Queen doing the rounds, it falls to Charles to pick up most of the slack and it has been noted that, despite his battle with cancer, he carried out official engagements on 175 days during the past 12 months. Over the same period, Prince William clocked up 68 fewer engagements.

‘William is more determined than ever to cut Harry off altogether,’ adds the source. ‘It infuriates William that Harry has pulled off a 12-month “master plan” to re-ingratiate himself.’

The pair have long had a tempestuous relationship, not least in the run-up to ‘Megxit’ when, in 2019, the brothers came to blows in Nottingham Cottage, in the grounds of Kensington Palace, and Harry ended up shoved to the floor, cracking a dog bowl.

Palace aides are said to be anxious that William’s ‘doubling down’ mentality marks a setback for him personally.

‘For some time now William’s anger had cooled to the point of indifference over his brother, which was healthy for his mental wellbeing,’ adds another source. ‘William had got to the stage where Harry was a “non-person”, he had fallen so far beneath his radar as to have disappeared from his mind altogether. It can’t be good that William has gone back to the point where he would throw someone out at the very mention of Harry’s name.’

The phrase ‘non-person’ was coined by the Queen Mother to refer to people whose name cannot be mentioned by friends or aides in her presence – like that of her brother-in-law Edward VIII whose abdication forced her and her husband (who became George VI) to become King and Queen. With Harry a ‘non-person’, safely 5,000 miles away in California, people around William felt no need to bring up Harry’s name. All that was shattered by the appearance last week. The source added: ‘Now Harry is back – back in the UK, back at Clarence House, back in touch with his father and back into the subject line of emails.’

Another source said: ‘William originally went through all the stages of grief over his brother. When they first fell out he went to Balmoral and went off his food. Just before the Oprah chat screened, he wept. Then he turned to anger and when that stage was over, he simply compartmentalised it all and moved on. He never expected to be regularly in the same postcode as his brother again, like he was last week.’

[From The Daily Mail]

Doesn’t it feel like the wheels are coming off? I can’t believe they’re saying some of this stuff openly. Last week became the point where this tabloid-and-palace-created image of “Angry Harry is sad and lonely” blew up in a million pieces. They can’t scream about how all of their emotional-support polls show that Harry is terribly unpopular, they can’t argue that Britain doesn’t want Harry back. British people were thrilled to see him, and his “tour” went spectacularly well. It reminded everyone of one of the biggest reasons why William and Kate did everything they could to push the Sussexes out and then copy/colonize everything they did, wore and said.

“Palace aides are said to be anxious that William’s ‘doubling down’ mentality marks a setback for him personally.” Um, it really sounds like William is in the middle of a full-blown nervous breakdown over being exposed as a boring, dull, unimaginative, uncharismatic rage monster. It also sounds like palace aides are really worried about how he’s incapable of keeping his sh-t together. And how f–king fragile is William that he can only keep going by pretending his brother is dead?

Prince Harry ‘closer’ to bringing kids to U.K. after King Charles meeting – National

Prince Harry — after meeting with his father, King Charles III, for the first time in almost two years last week — says he’s warming up to the idea of introducing his kids to their estranged family members.

During an exclusive interview with The Guardian, the Duke of Sussex, 41, said he would like to bring his American-born children, Princess Lilibet, 6, and Prince Archie, 4, whom he shares with his wife, The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, to his home country.

“Yes, I would. This week has definitely brought that closer,” he told the British outlet on an overnight train to Kyiv after a short trip to the U.K.

Not much is known about the recent meeting between Harry and his father, other than they sat down for a cup of tea.

The Duke, who became entirely estranged from the Royal Family after he released his tell-all memoir Spare, did not share a great deal about the rift at the behest of his father.

He did provide some novel tidbits about himself, including that he hates cycling because he has a “bony ass,” and that boxing and “hitting the hell out of a bag” help him to relieve stress.

The outlet went on to describe him as an “informal” person who walked around in his socks and made dad jokes during the overnight train ride to the capital of Ukraine.

Harry, who is not on speaking terms with his brother, Prince William, the Prince of Wales, said, “my conscience is clear,” while alluding to wanting to spend more time in the U.K. despite his public criticisms of his family.

His comments mark a shift in outlook from earlier this year, when Harry told the BBC he did not “see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K.,” after losing a legal bid to retain his publicly funded police security detail provided to him when visiting Britain.

“They’re going to miss, well, everything,” he said. “I love my country. I always have done. Despite what some people in that country have done,” the prince, whose security was downgraded when he left England for the U.S., continued.

“I miss the U.K., I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do,” he also told the BBC in May. “I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

Before his most recent visit, Harry last saw his father in person in February 2024, days after the King announced his cancer diagnosis.

During their latest meeting, the Duke of Sussex was seen arriving at Clarence House at around 5:20 p.m. local time on Sept. 10. He was pictured leaving just under an hour later, according to People.

The two have been distant since Harry and his wife, Meghan, left royal life and moved to California in 2020.

Prince Harry’s Focus is On King Charles After Reunion

Prince Harry is prioritizing reconciliation.

After reuniting with King Charles III for the first time in 19 months, the 41-year-old shared that he hopes to continue mending his relationship with his dad amid their ongoing rift.

In fact, Harry told The Guardian in an interview published Sept. 14 of his upcoming year, “The focus really has to be on my dad.”

And luckily, the Duke of Sussex believes that his recent reunion with Charles, 76, for a private tea at his London residence Clarence House has already helped him achieve that goal. As he put it, “This week has definitely brought that closer.”

Indeed, Harry similarly shared that the meetup was successful while at his father’s U.K. house on Sept. 10, telling reporters, according to Sky News,  “Yes, he’s great, thank you.”

And the former senior member of the royal family—who, along with his wife of seven years Meghan Markle, stepped back from his royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States—has previously expressed his interest in a reconciliation with his dad, especially amid Charles’ cancer battle.

bitchy | Prince Harry paid his respects at the Alley of Heroes in Kyiv, Ukraine

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

When Prince Harry visited Lviv, Ukraine in April, I was so moved by Ukrainians’ reactions to his visit, and by Harry’s reaction to being on the ground. Harry was so interested in hearing personal stories (often through a translator) of war, injury and rehabilitation. The April visit was focused heavily on the Superhumans Center, a major rehab center for veterans, and not on the war itself. Of course, Harry’s April visit drew global attention and even more sympathy for Ukrainians. During that visit, Harry was loaded down with gifts, and he brought them home to Meghan and the kids.

Well, Harry arrived in Kyiv on Friday, and he had a jam-packed schedule for what looks like a 48-hour visit. He attended an Invictus conference and got to speak to a group of about 200 Ukrainian veterans and soldiers. He laid a wreath at a memorial in Kyiv’s Maidan Square. He promised to do everything possible to help Ukrainian veterans. He visited bombed-out buildings, some of which were still smoldering from Russian strikes. He paid his respects at the Alley of Heroes, and ended up creating one of the most iconic photos I’ve ever seen.

Suffice to say, Ukrainians love Harry and he’s once again being loaded down with gifts. It’s incredibly sweet and moving when you really think about it. When “royals” visit countries on official visits, they’re often given an official gift from the government. In Harry’s case, he’s basically there representing himself, Invictus and the spirit of survival. People really respond to him and they want him to remember his visit. These are not official gifts – these are just regular people who wanted to give something to the ginger prince and his pretty wife. Like, a Ukrainian chef went out of his way to give Harry a jar of borshch. People are giving him gifts for Meghan and the kids too.

We also discussed the rehabilitation… pic.twitter.com/TjIKJrUl0V

bitchy | Eden: Prince Harry wants his kids to be educated in British boarding schools??

by jummy84 September 14, 2025

Whenever Prince Harry makes any reference to bringing his children to the UK, it’s usually in a particular context about security and royal protection. It’s almost always a reference to wanting to show his children his place of birth as well, not on a permanent basis, but as a “visiting daddy’s homeland” sort of way. Harry’s original dream was to raise his kids alongside his niece and nephews, not to mention his cousins’ children as well. But then those people went after his wife and privately had “concerns” about his babies’ skin color, so Harry’s plans changed. Basically, Harry still wants Archie and Lili to be able to freely visit the UK with a high degree of security, but I think Harry knows that there is no “going back” for any of them, especially his kids. The entire royal institution wants to get their hands on Archie and Lili and control them and use them as next-gen scapegoats for the Wales family. Harry knows that as well. So no, I do not buy Richard Eden’s latest column in the Daily Mail:

Just last December, the Duke of Sussex was waxing lyrical about life in the USA.

‘I enjoy living and bringing my kids up here, it’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live and it feels as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me,’ California-based Harry declared of the late Princess Diana on stage at a conference in New York City.

Now, however, I can disclose that he wants to give his son, Prince Archie, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, a taste of his own childhood back home.

‘I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children here in the UK,’ one of his pals tells me. The old friend discussed the subject with King Charles’s younger son during his visit to Britain this week – and the reasons for his plans are fascinating.

‘Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their niece and nephews are enjoying,’ explains the chum, referring to the Prince and Princess of Wales’s offspring, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, ten, and Prince Louis, seven, who currently all attend the same public school, £32,000-per-year Lambrook in Berkshire.

‘Harry wants his children to have the very best education. He has retained his closest friendship group of confidants from his days at school at Ludgrove and Eton. He wants that for his own children.’

Harry may, however, have a challenge selling his plan to his wife, Meghan, who is said to consider sending children to boarding school ‘barbaric’. The friend concedes: ‘There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan. The King, however, is delighted.’

That comment suggests that the duke has mentioned his British education plan to his father. Archie is only six years old and Lilibet, who was controversially given Queen Elizabeth’s family pet name, is four, so they are unlikely to be sent to boarding school across the Atlantic any time soon. Their cousin Prince George, for example, won’t start boarding school (probably Eton) until next year. Harry’s comments do, however, provide an insight into his desire to retain links to his homeland and give his children, who have American accents, something of a British upbringing.

[From The Daily Mail]

I won’t pretend that American education isn’t a steeply tiered system in which millions of kids fall through the cracks. But let’s acknowledge the facts in this particular case: Harry and Meghan are going to send their kids to elite private schools throughout their education, and I’m sure the best schools in California will be chosen. No, I don’t believe that Harry longs to send his kids to British boarding schools or have them educated in the UK. Personally, I don’t think Harry has super-strong feelings about education in general and he’s fine with Meghan making those calls for their kids. And he probably wants Archie and Lili at home for as long as possible too, just like Meghan. It’s funny that Meghan and the Princess of Wales probably agree on their hatred for boarding schools.
