“A sequel? For spring? Groundbreaking.” Almost twenty years after making their iconic turns as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel — actors Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is once again directed by American filmmaker David Frankel, director of the original The Devil Wears Prada (2006), as well as Miami Rhapsody, Marley & Me, The Big Year, Hope Springs, One Chance, Collateral Beauty, and Jerry and Marge Go Large. The screenplay is again written by Aline Brosh McKenna (who wrote the original and also 27 Dresses, Morning Glory, We Bought a Zoo, Annie, Cruella, Your Place or Mine). Produced by Karen Rosenfelt and Wendy Finerman. 20th Century Studios will debut David Frankel’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 in theaters nationwide starting May 1st, 2026 – set to kick off next year’s summer movie season. The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway reunite after 20 years; fans ‘can’t wait for Miranda, Andy’
The makers of The Devil Wears Prada 2 have finally unveiled the teaser of the upcoming film. Taking to its YouTube channel, 20th Century Studios shared the less than one-minute teaser.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser
The video began with Meryl Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, walking to her office lift as people were busy working. As the lift was about to close, Anne Hathaway’s character, Andrea ‘Andy’ Sachs, entered it smiling and saying, “Miranda.” Very unlike her character, Miranda moved sideways briefly to make room for Andy. She then replied, “Took you long enough.” The video ended with Andy smiling and wearing her sunglasses as the lift closed.
Fans can’t wait to watch Meryl, Anne after two decades
Anne also took to her Instagram page and shared the teaser. She wrote, “It’s everyone’s birthday. #43 #DWP2.” The teaser was unveiled on her 43rd birthday. Reacting to the teaser, a fan said, “So gorgeous! I am looking forward to watching this. It will be a great success!” “Oh my God! I’m so excited for the next year. Can’t wait to see Miranda and Andy together again,” read a comment.
“The fact that Miranda actually moves to the side to give Andy more room is some major character development,” a person wrote. A social media user said, “Now THIS is how you make a teaser trailer. The heels, the music, Miranda, and finally Andy. Chef’s kiss.” “Meryl really is a shapeshifter! To see her in Only murders in the Building, then back in this role! What a class actor!” said another fan.

Lady Gaga has reportedly joined the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2, joining Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt for the sequel.
The original film, based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger, starred Hathaway as a journalism graduate who lands a job at a prestigious fashion magazine, assisting its foreboding editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep). The 2006 comedy was a critical and box office hit, with a follow-up announced last year.
Now, Deadline reports that the ‘Mayhem’ singer will be joining the cast in an as-yet-undisclosed role, following pictures of her on set recently emerging online. The film is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026, almost 20 years since the previous movie hit cinemas, and will focus on Priestly navigating the changing climate of print journalism.
Gaga has balanced her music career with a string of high-profile acting roles in recent years. Having played significant roles on the small screen in American Horror Story: Hotel and the most recent season of Wednesday, her biggest successes have come in film.

In 2018, she played the lead in A Star Is Born, a remake of the 1937 romantic drama co-starring Bradley Cooper as a troubled industry legend who mentors and falls in love with a talented newcomer (Gaga). The ‘Poker Face’ artist won an Oscar for Best Original Song for ‘Shallow’, and was nominated for Best Actress. She would also win a BAFTA and Golden Globe for the film’s music.
Last year, she played Harleen “Lee” Quinzel, a version of the character Harley Quinn, in Joker: Folie à Deux. While her performance was praised by critics, the film was a box office failure. Responding to the poor reception, Gaga told Elle: “I think to be an artist, you have to be willing for people to sometimes not like it. And you keep going even if something didn’t connect in the way that you intended.”
The announcement caps a busy year for the artist, who released her sixth solo studio album ‘Mayhem’ on March 7. She hosted SNL the same month to promote the release, and performed a headline set at Coachella the following month.
In July, she embarked on the ‘The Mayhem Ball’ world tour, which included a London residency at The O2. NME’s five-star review described it as “flawless camp theatre from a true pop icon”, writing: “Never one to hold back, the theatrical pop auteur is in world-building mode, creating a fantastical, camp horror universe within the arena that sees her do battle with another version of herself, at times flanked by skeletons, witches and plague doctors.”
Last month, unseen footage emerged of Lady Gaga planning cancelled 2009 ‘Fame Kills’ tour with Kanye West.
Miranda Priestly is a few months from gagging the girls in her sequel! The fictional character, played by Meryl Streep, will be on the big screen in the spring of 2026 when ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ premieres. The release is a few months away, but Streep has still been on sets, pushing out scenes.

Meryl Streep Photographed As Miranda Priestly At D&G Runway Show
The devil wore Dolce & Gabbana on Saturday (September 27). Meryl Streep had a front-row seat at the designing duo’s Milan theater. While there, she was in character as Miranda Priestly for ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ sequel.

The actress wore her character’s customary sunglasses and a Dolce & Gabbana vinyl trenchcoat as she entered the theater escorted by security. Stanley Tucci, who plays Miranda’s art director in the film, trailed behind her. Throughout the runway show, Meryl Streep’s character consulted with Tucci. They cast their eyes up and down the runway as models passed. Meanwhile, music by Italian singer Patty Pravo played in the background.
The location will remind movie fans of a scene from the original film where Anne Hathaway’s character, after answering the phone, asks: “Can you please spell ‘Gabbana?’”

Will We See The Scene In ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’?
‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ has been shooting in Milan. And according to the Associated Press, the Dolce & Gabbana press office confirmed that the runway scene seen in the photos will be included in the sequel.
Fans of the fashion film will feature pieces from the Dolce & Gabbana Spring-Summer 2026 collection, including nightwear. From cozy men’s pajamas with rhinestone or embroidered details to black sheer and lace lingerie. The looks were layered with leather, brocade, and animal-print jackets. Footwear ranged from sexy stilettos to fuzzy slippers. The bag of choice was soft and furry, perfect for cuddling up after a night out.

The designers posed just a beat or two longer during their customary bow. Afterward, Meryl Streep and Tucci were whisked to the backstage area. Then, the real-life fashion crowd jumped on the empty runway to snap photos of the moment in fashion history.
There was another life-imitating-art-imitating-life meta moment at the D&G show. Anna Wintour, who inspired the 2006 film, sat across the runway from Meryl Streep in her role as Vogue’s global editorial director.
Streep Spotted In Costume Earlier This Year, Too
Streep has been filming for at least the last few months, as photos taken earlier this year show her on set as Miranda Priestly on July 23, 2025 in New York City.

What Do You Think Roomies?
As a fashion editor, shoe lover, and big Prada fan, the sight of a celebrity wearing a new Prada It shoe completely stops me in my tracks. So when I saw that Lily James just wore a shoe that was the star of Prada’s F/W 25 runway, I couldn’t not share my sighting with the internet.
James was photographed out and about in Manhattan this week for press appearances, wearing head-to-toe Prada (lucky girl). Her outfit consisted of a chestnut belted leather jacket and a matching miniskirt with a white Galleria bag and the It shoes in question: Prada’s Antiqued Leather Pumps with exposed seams, a pointed toe, and an elegant bow detail. The weathered effect of the leather gives them a vintage look, and all of the unique details combined make for a non-basic, cool-girl pump. The pumps (one of several weathered leather shoes in Prada’s F/W 25 collection) come in chalk white (James’ pick), a mid-town brown, and brownish black. It’s one of those shoes that may be an It shoe this season, but it’s timeless enough to have in your wardrobe for years to come. And at $1.5k, the longevity factor is certainly good news.
Keep scrolling to see the new Prada It shoes on Lily James and on the F/W 25 runway, and shop them for yourself while they’re still in stock (because trust me—Prada It shoes always sell out).

Watch: Yorgos Lanthimos’ Prada Short Film with Scarlett Johansson
by Alex Billington
September 16, 2025
Source: YouTube
“Okay, the following is needed: Morning Breeze… Whisper of all your dead loved ones’ names… Rainwater that drips from a non-blooming cherry tree…” Such special ingredients… Another wacky, fun new film from Yorgos Lanthimos to enjoy this year. Alas this is only a 2-min short film (though I recommend watching Bugonia when it opens this fall). Prada has unveiled their newest promo – a short film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Scarlett Johansson made to promote the “Prada Galleria bag.” Which sells for the ridiculous price of around $1000-$5000 – which is exactly how they can afford to hire such a talented filmmaker / actress duo to make this commercial. Of course it’s just an ad, but it’s still fun to see Lanthimos putting in some of his usual strange touches. And with Scarlett, well, I can imagine this will be an effective campaign. The handbag is named after the brand’s historic flagship boutique, opened by Mario Prada in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan in 1913. Just what’s in that shiny sphere? And can we order one, too?

Thanks to Twitter for the tip on this debuting online. Original intro via YouTube: “Discover the new Prada campaign directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Prada Ambassador Scarlett Johansson. A cinematic study of transformation & persona, where ritual identities take place. A totem of change, the Prada Galleria handbag is reimagined season after season. In this film, it’s central to a story of perpetual transformation – of the self, of identity, of Prada itself.” This “Prada Galleria bag” promotional short film is directed by Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, director of the films My Best Friend, Kinetta, Dogtooth, Alps, The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, The Favourite, Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness, as well as this year’s new film Bugonia, plus many other shorts & music videos. With creative direction by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for Prada. The marketing campaign creative director is Ferdinando Verderi. For more on this short, head to YouTube or visit Prada’s website. Janhvi Kapoor turned heads at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in a stunning ensemble from Prada’s Spring 2004 collection. The archival look, designed by Miuccia Prada, was an ode to femininity. It represented the essence of a saree through a structured 1950s silhouette. The draping is delicate and flaunts a vintage aesthetic. The outfit became a standout moment on the international red carpet.
Janhvi paired the outfit with sleek heels inspired by the traditional Kolhapuri chappal. The footwear was custom-made by Indian designer Aprajita Toor. The minimalist design of the heels added depth to her ensemble.
Janhvi styled her hair in soft waves. She kept her makeup understated. She flaunted blushed up cheeks with mascara-heavy eyes. She kept her eyebrows defined.
The actress let the outfit speak for itself. She is attending TIFF with the cast and crew of Homebound, including Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa.
