Snooker Shoot Out order of play | Wednesday 10th December 2025

by jummy84 December 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Reigning champion Tom Ford begins his Snooker Shoot Out title defence on the opening day of the fast-paced tournament.

A randomised draw, single-frame matches with a 10-minute limit, and a 10/15-second shot clock are among the rule changes that make the format an exciting switch from the norm.

Action moves fast at the three-day ranking tournament, which is back at the Tower Circus in Blackpool after a decade away from the venue.

Ford takes on Martin O’Donnell in the afternoon session, while Masters champion Shaun Murphy, whose 147 in this format in 2023 was truly special, is the highest-ranked player on the table in the evening.

It may not have the history or esteem of the Triple Crown events, but even Snooker purists can’t deny that the shortened format throws up plenty of drama.

RadioTimes.com brings you the daily order of play and full schedule for Snooker Shoot Out 2025.

We’re keeping this page updated with all the latest times and coverage details throughout the course of the tournament.

Jack White, Post Malone, Lil Jon Play NFL Thanksgiving Halftime Shows

White plays the Lions-Packers game, Malone headlines the Cowboys-Chiefs game, and Lil Jon performs at the Ravens-Bengals game

The NFL has announced the halftime performers for its Thanksgiving games, which include Jack White, Post Malone, and Lil Jon.

The festivities on Nov. 27 kickoff with the holiday’s traditional Detroit Lions game. The Lions will host the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field in Detroit, and hometown hero Jack White will headline the halftime festivities. Fellow Detroiter Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenberg will executive produce the halftime event.

White — who is fresh off being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Meg White as the White Stripes — shared the news on Instagram alongside the Detroit Lions, the NFL, and others. He posted video of blue vinyl being pressed, which features a label on the record announcing his appearance. The post is captioned, “Hot off the press.”

Post Malone will hit the halftime stage when his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys take on the Kansas City Chiefs at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. In a joint Instagram post with the team, the NFL, and others, Malone shared a video that shows him wearing a Cowboys jacket and driving a semi-truck into Dallas. “Bigger is always better,” he says in the clip announcing his performance.

Trending Stories

“I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” Malone said in a statement. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”

Lil Jon is set to perform the halftime show when the Baltimore Ravens host the Cincinnati Bengals at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry will sing the national anthem at the game, the Ravens announced last week.

From ‘Beer Run’ to ‘Play a Train Song’

by jummy84 November 16, 2025

From “Alright Guy” and “Play a Train Song” to his rollicking “Talking Seattle Grunge Rock Blues”

In his own shambolic way, Todd Snider was a master songwriter — a follower of John Prine and Jerry Jeff Walker who specialized in sharp, often hilarious, story-songs about all manner of down-and-out characters, himself very much included. Over more than 30 years, Snider wrote about everything from the Kingsmen to pitcher Dock Ellis’ acid-aided no-hitter, always with empathy, self-awareness, and a winning stoner drawl. (Some of his best moments were not even songs — see the long, rambling, funny-as-hell monologues he’d tell onstage.) Here are 12 highlights.

  • ‘Talking Seattle Grunge Rock Blues’

A minor hit in 1994, this talking blues is an early example of Snider’s humor, which was by turns stoner-friendly and biting. Snider satirizes the commercialization of alternative rock with a rollicking song about a struggling band that relocates to the Northwest and discovers a novel trick: refusing to play at all. (Or, as Snider puts it, “silence: music’s original alternative.”) In the song, the band blows up, gets rich and even lands a spot on MTV Unplugged: “We went right out there and refused to do acoustical versions/Of the electrical songs we had refused to record in the first place/Then we smashed our shit.”  —Christian Hoard

  • ‘Alright Guy’

One of Snider’s catchiest, most radio-friendly songs, “Alright Guy” found the innate troublemaker owning up to his proclivities. He liked to look at nude pics of Madonna, enjoyed his weed, and wasn’t averse to mouthing off at the police. But, hey, that was nothing, Snider countered. “I know I get wild and I know I get drunk/but it ain’t like I got a bunch of bodies in my trunk,” he sang. “I think I’m an alright guy.” The country singer Gary Allan recorded his own version of the song in 2001 and even titled his album after it, but not before tweaking one of Snider’s punchiest lyrics about “tearing up pictures of the Pope.” —Joseph Hudak

Snider turned an awful early gig in Phoenix (“A little out of place/A little out of tune,” the song begins) into one of his most beautiful meditations. The song, as much as any other, exemplifies the Tao of Todd, a mix of stoner mishap, zen acceptance, radical gratitude, and dry humor: “We’re all waiting in the dugout wishin’ we could pitch,” Snider sings, “How you gonna throw a shutout, if all you do is bitch?” — Jon Bernstein

  • ‘Long Year’

Rarely did Snider get more vulnerable, and more honest, than he did on this haunting portrait of addiction from 2000’s Happy to Be Here. The best versions are live, just Todd by himself on guitar, with Todd telling the story that begins with a man trying — and struggling — to engage with twelve-step recovery and ends with him taking a shot of liquor. It’s always been a devastating portrait of isolation and the pain of recovery; Snider conjures worlds of emotion in his plainspoken tale of feeling alienated from the others in recovery: “Everyone was telling everyone how they felt,” Snider sings. “It felt like so long since I’d been young.” —J.B.

This well-turned story-song focuses on two kids with fake IDs who run afoul of a store clerk in the pursuit of cold ones, but find redemption (and brews) in time to see a Robert Earl Keen show in Santa Cruz. The song is catchy-as-hell and all good vibes, right down to the “B-double-E-double-R-U-N” chorus. A prime example of the hippie bonhomie that Snider gravitated toward in his lighter moments, not to mention one of the great beer songs ever. —C.H.

Snider’s tribute to East Nashville’s fast living unofficial mayor Skip Litz soon became his signature song. It’s trademark Todd, full of pathos, hillbilly humor, and raise-your-beer melodicism. Rarely did Snider play a show without performing this one, which, of course, was as much about himself as it was Litz (to hammer that home, Snider switches from first-person to third-person at times). “I was depressed because my friend had died,” Snider writes of the song in his memoir. “And my depression started to rhyme.” —J.B.

Todd Snider didn’t mince words, and he left nothing to the imagination in this wild ride off 2004’s East Nashville Skyline that compared and contrasted two political ideologies. While the song is an indictment of the type of person spelled out in its lengthy title — dudes who are likely “gay bashin’, Black-fearin’, poor-fightin’, tree-killin’ regional leaders of sales” — it’s also a celebration of the community in which Snider counted himself. The hippies, Todd suggested, had it right all along, with their “tree-huggin’, love-makin’, pro-choicin’, gay weddin’” beliefs. Twenty-one years since Snider released the tune, it still resonates today across America’s great divide. —J.H.

There were few more pointed critiques of George W. Bush than this account, inspired in part by Snider’s attempt to crash rugby parties he wasn’t invited to in his youth in San Marcos, Texas, of a rich unaccountable young college student wreaking havoc on campus who’d later become the President of the Free World. The song was released in 2006, at the height of the Iraq War, and though the song never mentioned the current president by name, it ends with a sharp jab: “You’ll get away with this new thing, too.”  —J.B.

  • ‘The Devil You Know’

Snider tells a harrowing story-song of an armed bank-robber on the run and making a detour at the narrator’s house in Nashville. The music is intense — more rocking and harder-edged than almost anything else in Snider’s catalog — and the narrative keeps you on the edge of your seat, as the singer tosses the crook his car keys and helps him get away. But it’s not just a story; it’s a musing on systemic poverty, culminating in one of the more definitive political statements of Snider’s career: “There’s a war going on that the poor can’t win.” —C.H.

The story starts dodgy and gets dodgier: “There’s a Coke machine glowing through the parking lot/Call it a room with a view.” From there, Snider’s protagonist reunites with a sex worker he knew from growing up before they both get hassled by the police. So much happens in Snider’s perfect, three-verse country song that it ended up becoming the basis for a 2020 feature film starring RZA. “I say the guy’s a pool hustler, but it’s just me,” Snider said in 2019. “I was just sick of singing about guys with guitars, so I gave him a pool cue.” —J.B.

Snider was nothing if not self-aware about his shortcomings, and in this 2009 song, he takes stock of chronic fuckups with wry honesty. It was inspired by a true story: Snider got picked up for weed possession in Greencastle, Indiana, and found himself wondering why a man in his forties should keep ending up like this. The lyrics are sweetly funny, while also asking questions that point toward something darker. “Some of this trouble just finds me,” Snider sings. “Most of this trouble I earn/ How do you know when it’s too late? How do you know when it’s too late? How do you know when it’s too late to learn?” —C.H.

Snider stripped down his sound for 2019’s Cash Cabin Sessions: Vol. 3, a record of mostly solo acoustic songs recorded at Johnny Cash’s cabin studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee, the Nashville suburb where Snider would eventually move later in his life. He revisited his gift for humorous talking blues on the track “Talking Reality Television Blues,” but it’s “Working on a Song” that revealed the magic of his songwriting. It’s a gorgeous ditty about chasing the muse, in which he chronicles his failure to finish a song, all in the midst of singing a great one. It ends with a very Snider question: “Where will I go now that I’m gone?” —J.H.

Raveen Tandon to Play PM Modi’s Mother in Maa Vande

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Maa Vande, an upcoming multilingual film based on the life of PM Narendra Modi, was officially announced to coincide with his birthday on September 17. Starring Unni Mukundan, the film is directed by Kranthi Kumar Ch and produced by Veer Reddy under Silver Cast Creations. The biographical drama is presently in pre-production.

Raveena Tandon to play Heeraben

While Unni Mukundan is reprising Narendra Modi, we have learnt that Raveena Tandon has been finalized to play Modi’s mother late Heeraben. Apparently, when the actress was approached to play the part, she was so moved by the principles of Heeraben. The strength, depth and the arc of the layered character resonated with Raveena. The actress reportedly green lit the character 45 minutes into the narration. Heeraben’s life has been committed to values, and she has been like a teacher to Modi. On several occasions earlier, Modi spoke highly of her. Heeraben’s early struggle – losing her mother early in her childhood – how she held the family together with calm and fortitude, and her strong principles which stood the test of time have inspired Raveena to take on the challenging character.

Raveen Tandon Modi Maa Vande

Sacrifice and symbol of resilience

Heeraben was a source of inspiration and strength for Modi. The principles by which she raised him shaped his personality. Far beyond her story deprivation, is the glorious story of a mother. “Maa Vande is a film that predominantly focuses on mother-son relationship. The film majorly chronicles the sacrifices, resilience and the contributions she made to better his life. And Raveena Tandon was fascinated at this element and wanted to be part of the story,” informs a source from the unit. The actress would soon commence preparation for her role. She will undergo a complete makeover for the character. The film is being mounted on a massive scale with cutting-edge VFX technology

Bobby Deol to Play a Grey Character in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Next Starring Ahaan Panday and Sharvari

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Bobby Deol is on a roll recently. After Animal, Aashram and The Ba***ds of Bollywood’s success, the actor is now all set to star in Ali Abbas Zafar’s next. The film stars Ahaan Panday and Sharvari in the lead, and if reports are to be believed, Deol’s character will be in an authoritative position but he will not be the traditional villain.

Mid-Day quoted a source as saying, “It will be incorrect to call him the villain. His character is in an authoritative position in the film, but there is more than meets the eye. As the story progresses, Bobby’s character is shown having grey shades, which influences his dynamics with the hero.”

Deol has recently played negative roles and grey characters in Animal, Aashram and Kanguva and the filmmaker doesn’t want the actor to have a similar kind of a role in this film.
The source further continued, “Ali and producer Aditya Chopra were certain from the start that it can’t be a menacing and an all-black role as Bobby has done such parts. The director crafted a larger-than-life persona, keeping Bobby in mind, but at the same time, gave the character personal motivations and shades of grey. Bobby came on board only a week ago.”

Meanwhile, Ahaan recently unveiled his new look on social media and fans speculate it to be his look from Ali’s film. The Saiyaara star flaunted a rugged and intense look and captioned the photos as, And that’s a cut.”
Ali commented, “Nice look Ahaan Hmmmm”

Take a look at the post:

This yet-untitled project will reportedly go on floors in early 2026 and will mark the fifth collaboration between Aditya Chopra and Ali Abbas Zafar after Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Gunday, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai.

Bobby Moynihan, Ely Henry Play Older Woody and Phil (Exclusive)

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • Bobby Moynihan and Ely Henry will play older versions of their NCIS: Origins characters, Woody and Phil, in the NCIS half of the crossover.
  • The crossover event begins on Origins with a naval officer’s death and continues on NCIS with a prison break that reopens the case, featuring Woody and Phil providing pivotal evidence.
  • Executive producers from both shows explain why Woody and Phil are the characters who are crossing over in this way.

Yes, NCIS and NCIS: Origins may take place 30 years apart, but the upcoming crossover will still feature some of the same characters in both hours (including Vera, played by Diany Rodriguez and Roma Maffia) — and actors as well!

TV Insider has learned exclusively that Bobby Moynihan and Ely Henry will be playing older versions of their Origins characters, forensic analyst Woody and chemist Phil, on the mothership. We also have exclusive photos offering a first look at the two alongside Torres (Wilmer Valderrama). See them above and below.

For the crossover, the two shows swap timeslots, so that the action begins on Origins, with a death of a naval officer in a small town. Then, on NCIS, a prison break leads to the present-day team reopening the case.

The executive producers across the two shows — David J. North and Gina Lucita Monreal on Origins and Steven D. Binder on NCIS — all agree that Moynihan and Henry are hilarious.

CBS

“We just adore them, and we knew it would be a treat to see them later on,” North tells us. “Also for us on Origins, Gina and I have a plan for certain of our characters and in some, we don’t want to give away whether they’re still around or alive in 33 years because we want to stick with the plan that we have. But you get breaking news here, Woody and Phil survive NCIS: Origins, no matter how many seasons it lasts.”

As for what brings them in on NCIS, “they’re going to have a piece of evidence that’s pivotal to the case,” says Binder. “They’re hysterical. I was on set while they were shooting and the writer [Marco Schnabel] was laughing hysterically with it. I walked out, and he was laughing hysterically with his headphones on, and I said, ‘It’s bad form to laugh at your own work like that.’ And he goes, ‘They’re just off in their own world right now. They’re doing their own thing.’”

He echoes what North pointed out, that this shows that Woody and Phil survive Origins and beyond. (We already knew Vera would, since Maffia previously appeared on the mothership.)

“Here’s the danger in doing an episode like this. These are cop shows. People have gotten killed over the years. We lost Jenny Shepard [Lauren Holly]. We lost Mike Franks [Muse Watson]. We lost Ziva’s father [Michael Nouri]. Vance [Rocky Carroll] lost his wife [Paula Newsome]. We lose a lot of people. I think that lessens the drama a little bit, knowing that there aren’t any real stakes. There’s real stakes to these shows,” Binder explains.

He continues, “And if somebody appears 30 years in the future, well, they become a superhero on NCIS: Origins. Any situation they go into, you will never really feel that they’re in jeopardy because you’ve seen them alive. So, what characters did David and Gina want to bestow that superhero power to? That sort of drove a lot of it, was if we show them 30 years from now, then they can never be in mortal danger again. And Woody and Phil just seemed like the right people to not want to ever play that card with because they’re a different sort of ingredient on that show. And also you could bring the two of them together, the two peas in a pod. They’re sort of like a little unit, and we are a humor-based show, and those guys are funny.”

Halsey Shuts Down Fan for Telling Her to ‘Stop Talking and Play’

Don’t tell musicians what to do. Only hours after Halsey spent the night in the ER, she took the stage for her second night at Boston’s MGM Music Hall. During the performance, as Halsey was addressing the crowd, a male audience member shouted, “Stop talking and play.”

“You think you’re tough shit because you’re from Boston?” the singer replied. “I’m from Jersey, baby. I’ll whoop your ass. My dad’s from Boston, my mom’s from Jersey—that basically makes me a fucking demon. I’m gonna play whatever the fuck I wanna play. In case you didn’t hear me correctly, I almost fucking died to be on this stage. I’m going to play whatever the fuck I wanna play.”

“I’ve been polite but won’t be caught dead letting a man tell me what I should play in my set,” Halsey later wrote on X. She added, “There’s always one.”

Yesterday, Halsey updated fans on her health, explaining that she spent Sunday night in the emergency room after her first show in Boston. On Instagram Stories, the singer-songwriter said she had a “minor medical emergency” after her first of two concerts. Although she was in the hospital’s ER until six in the morning, Halsey told fans, “I am A-Okay now and ready to rock tonight!”

Trending Stories

Halsey did not specify what put her in the emergency room, though she’s been undergoing chemotherapy treatments recently after being diagnosed with lupus and a rare T-Cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022. On Instagram, Halsey thanked the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff who treated her at Mass General, calling them “the absolute best team I’ve ever met,” and adding, “I am so so grateful!”

The musician is currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album on her Back to Badlands tour, which kicked off last month. She has additional shows across the U.S. scheduled through mid-November, with a second North American leg kicking off next January. Shows in Europe, the U.K., and Australia will follow.
