South Park Season 28 Halloween Episode: Trump Gets Haunted

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for South Park, Season 28 Episode 2, “The Woman In The Hat.”]

In a special Halloween episode of South Park, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone took a moment to acknowledge the haters, as the boys complain that South Park (the town, of course) sucks now, Stan going so far as to say it’s “because of all this political shit.” They even point out that Kenny’s been largely absent from the latest season: “I haven’t even heard you say anything in like four months,” one of them says, which Kenny acknowledges in his usual muffled way.

To reclaim their town, they launch a South Park Sucks Now campaign to create a community for those who want change. (Southparksucksnow.com, at time of writing, just redirects to the official South Park website. There is also now an unofficial /r/southparksucksnow on Reddit.) However, SPSN actually ends up being a meme coin scheme launched with the help of Kyle’s Cousin Kyle. Stan in particular is desperate to make some money, as his family’s now had to move into his grandfather’s nursing home following the loss of Tegrity Farms.

Meanwhile, the soap opera at the White House continues as Satan calls Trump out for knocking down the East Wing for his ballroom — not because Satan thinks it’s a bad thing that Trump demolished the historic structure, but because Satan thought that Trump was doing it to build a nursery for their pending baby.

The demolition causes an additional problem for Trump, though: Demolishing the East Wing unleashed a “wrath,” and he’s now being haunted by a Melania-shaped specter, which ends up bringing much of the White House squad together for a very Halloween-y seance. This includes senior advisor Stephen Miller (more Renfield-y than ever), FCC chairman Brendan Carr (mummified by casts to heal his recent injuries, he’s “lost his freedom of speech”), the always ghoulish Kristi Noem, and Pam Bondi, who leads the seance. Bondi’s got her own supernatural woes: Her nose keeps getting covered in smears of what paranormal investigators might call “rectoplasm” — but because it’s South Park, it’s crap. Trump’s crap, very specifically.

The seance nearly exposes JD Vance and Peter Thiel’s ongoing scheme to kill Trump and Satan’s baby (not a sentence I ever expected to type, I confess) and does get horrific enough to cause Kristi Noem’s face to melt off. Cousin Kyle, who’s come to the White House looking to strike a crypto deal with Don Jr., is appropriately terrified — before getting hauled off to jail for the crypto scheme.

At the end of the episode, the boys resolve to make the most of their current circumstances, while other plotlines like Satan’s pregnancy and Cartman’s 6-7 possession/abduction by Peter Thiel remain unresolved for future weeks. And while there have been scarier Halloween episodes… The image of Kristi Noem’s face crawling around on its own will linger for some time.

Following its premiere on Comedy Central, Season 22, Episode 2 of South Park — “The Woman in the Hat” — will be available to stream on Paramount+ beginning Saturday, November 1st.

‘South Park’ Admits “South Park Sucks Now” In Halloween Episode

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Two episodes into its sudden Season 28, South Park is poking fun at itself following criticism of its very political 27th season.

In Friday’s special Halloween episode ‘The Woman in the Hat’, Stan admits that “South Park sucks now” after his dad loses his job at the USGS amid the government shutdown, forcing them to move into his grandfather’s retirement home.

“Everyone knows it. South Park sucks now, and it’s because of all this political shit,” he says in a tongue-in-cheek nod to the Comedy Central show’s controversial Season 27 return.

In attempt to make South Park better, the kids create a “South Park Sucks Now” crypto meme, which Stan hopes gets them out of the retirement home.

The episode culminates in a seance at the White House, overseen by Pam Bondi, who constantly has poop on her nose, and is attended by Brendan Carr and Kristi Noem. They assemble after Donald Trump is being haunted by Melania, who lurks in corners under her hat.

Donald Trump is haunted by Melania in ‘South Park’.

According to Stephen Miller, ghost Melania was unleashed with the “vengeful wrath” that came from tearing down the White House’s East Wing. Meanwhile, Ed and Lorraine Warren are summoned to investigate the phenomena.

The episode ends with Kyle’s cousin Kyle being arrested at the seance, where he tries to get Don Jr.’s approval to sell the crypto, admitting publicly that it’s all a scam.

“People are always looking for happiness in all the wrong places… Family is happiness.” Indeed. Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for a film titled simply Mango, a story about a mango farmer in Spain. This film is a Danish production, about a Danish woman, who goes to Spain, starring an Iraqi-Danish actor who’s playing a Danish man running this farm in Spain. Lærke, an ambitious hotel manager, is sent to Málaga (see Google Maps) to develop a hotel on Alex’s mango farm. Lærke’s daughter joins, expecting a rare holiday with her mother. Unexpected feelings arise between Lærke and Alex, forcing them both to make life-altering choices on what to do next. A romance story set in Spain about two people growing feelings for each other. Both mother and daughter “find what they’ve been craving in a farmer’s idyllic mango orchard.” Oooh la la. Starring Dar Salim as Alex & Josephine Park as Lærke, Josephine Chavarria Højbjerg as daughter Agnes, and Sara Jiménez as Paula. Most of all I just want to try some of this gorgeous-looking mango he’s growing. And that mangonade. She better stay with him on this farm and grow mangoes! Take a look below.

Here’s the main official trailer for Mehdi Avaz’s Malaga romance film Mango, from Netflix’s YouTube:

The ambitious hotel manager, Lærke (Josephine Park), seizes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when her boss sends her to Malaga, Spain, to develop a grand new hotel in the middle of a mango farm. The farm belongs to Alex, a former lawyer, who refuses to sell due to a tragic past he can’t let go of. Lærke brings along her daughter, Agnes, who expects rare holiday time with her busy mother — or so she believes. As unexpected feelings start to bloom between Lærke & Alex, both are forced to make choices that will impact their careers, family ties, and ultimately, their hearts. Mango is directed by the Danish-Iranian filmmaker Mehdi Avaz, director of the movies While We Live, Collision, Toscana, A Beautiful Life, plus Børnene fra Sølvgade 1 & 2 previously. The screenplay is written by fellow filmmaker Milad Schwartz Avaz. Produced by Anna Malmkjær Willumsen. This hasn’t premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Netflix debuts Avaz’s Mango film streaming on Netflix starting November 7th, 2025 this fall. Want to watch it?

Why ‘South Park’ Suddenly Entered Its 28th Season This Week

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

This year’s episodes of South Park have brought a resurgence of the franchise. Season 27 of the beloved series is a ratings bonanza for Comedy Central, as well as a creative triumph for its showrunners, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and a delight for fans of irreverent topical satire. In fact, the animated hit’s fans have been so laser-focused on every detail of the show that they were quick to notice when Wednesday night’s episode marked the beginning of the show’s 28th season — an unannounced move that seemed to make little sense.

Wednesday night’s episode focused on several current issues, including surveillance, government encroachment on everyday life, and the annoying “6, 7” meme that has overtaken Gen Alpha. It also marked a whole new season of the show, which returned for its 27th season over the summer after a two-year hiatus to critical acclaim and the chagrin of the White House. Traditionally, South Park seasons consist of six episodes and, like most TV shows, have a long break until the next season begins. However, early in the latest run, it was widely reported that season 27 would consist of 10 new 22-minute episodes. All the better for the show’s many fans.

Ahead of Wednesday’s show, fans began to speculate as to why what was expected to be season 27’s sixth episode was being listed as season 28, episode 1. It must be a glitch, viewers assumed, or maybe a maneuver to fulfill Parker and Stone’s contractual obligations, given the retooling of their deal over the summer. It was perplexing for many to find that many of the plot threads set up in the five episodes that made up season 27 were continued as if they were the same season; in fact, nothing from the storylines — Donald Trump and Satan’s love child, Jesus’ entree into South Park Elementary as a counselor — had been resolved by episode five.

It turns out that this is a case of misreporting, a rep for the show suggested on Friday. Season 27 was never meant to be a full 10 episodes, and the showrunners had planned all along for Seasons 27 and 28 to bow at five episodes each, it seems. No announcement was made regarding the number of episodes in season 27 at the time it debuted, Comedy Central clarified to The Hollywood Reporter. This is all despite widespread reporting of a 10-episode run for the latest season. And what the rep told THR tracks: looking back at the press releases for this season, Comedy Central has consistently provided air dates for the upcoming episodes, but has never referred to them as part of a continuous season of 10 episodes.

Yet the latest season has had a perplexing schedule. Episodes 2701 and 2702 aired on the standard week-over-week schedule, but then it was announced that the team had switched to a biweekly schedule before the delayed fifth episode. That now-apparent season finale aired three weeks later, on Sept. 24. It was another three weeks before Wednesday’s surprise season 28 premiere episode.

Could there be more to this that we don’t know? Perhaps. Does it matter, as long as South Park keeps delivering pitch-perfect satire? Not really.

South Park Returns to Roast Peter Thiel, Set Up Cartman vs. Antichrist

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

South Park returned Wednesday after a three-week hiatus and left us with the terrifying prospect of Eric Cartman being the only human to save us from the Antichrist.

For reasons unexplained, the episode is listed as season 28, episode one — not the sixth episode of the 27th season. Perhaps it’s a contract issue with Paramount and South Park Studios, but it doesn’t seem to have much to do with the plot, which carries on where it left off.

This week at South Park Elementary, the “6-7” meme is in full force and driving the parents and teachers mad. For the uninitiated, under-14s have been saying “6-7” when they don’t know the answer, as a fill-in phrase, or for reasons they and we will never know. The genesis of the meme comes from the song “Doot Doot,” by rapper Skrilla in December 2024, and for some reason, it just took off. Eventually, obsession over the joke drives Cartman to puke incessantly. Or is he possessed?

Meanwhile, tech guru Peter Thiel enters the story, plotting with J.D. Vance to thwart the birth of the Antichrist, i.e., Donald Trump and Satan’s baby. Thiel gets Trump to head to Planned Parenthood to try to sneakily ask a doctor to perform an abortion on Satan, but it is rebuffed by the doctor, who tells him that he’ll need someone with expertise on the Antichrist. Enter Thiel, who marches into South Park Elementary and lays down the law with the faculty about the possible cult the kids are obsessed over.

Back at the A-story, Cartman is at the doctor’s office, too, undergoing a full-body scan to determine the cause of his health crisis. But the puke keeps coming and it appears they will need to seek outside help.

Thiel, having commandeered the school’s security system, downloads all student data and begins to observe and report. Cameras across the school are watching the kids, as the staff is seeking to find more leads on what is going on with this “6-7” business.

Also added into the jam-packed episode is a plotline with Jesus trying to reconcile with modern Christianity and going on a double date with PC Principal; his date is a piece of work named Peggy Rockbottom. It doesn’t go well. Back at school, Thiel dubs Jesus a “Nosey Nancy” when he protests the surveillance and is quickly removed by PC Principal; in the gym, he laments the state of affairs with the sporty school leader, who asks him, point-blank, if he is gay.

Trump gags continue throughout the episode: if his sphincter isn’t on full display at Planned Parenthood, he is in bed with Satan, but rebuffed and masturbating… with chopsticks.

The plot thickens as Vance and Thiel’s partnership is revealed as a scheme to obtain all of the world’s data. But he must sort out this Antichrist business, so Thiel heads to the Cartman residence in a sharp homage to The Exorcist. Oh, and he got there in an Uber. It took him around six or seven minutes. After he spends time with Cartman, Thiel concludes that he may be the only hope we have to stop the Antichrist.

“We have to unlock the secrets he holds, no matter what it takes,” he declares. Uh-oh.

Back at the Cheesecake Factory, Jesus is back on a double date with Peggy Rockbottom and PC Principal, but just can’t take it, and the warped sense of Christianity that seems to have taken hold across America.

“You need to bully people and you’re using the Bible to do it, ” he tells PC Principal, as he tries to kick his ass. Jesus then heads out into the suburban sprawl and contemplates life on earth in 2025. He then turns around, walks into “the Factory,” stares down PC Principal and pulls Ms. Rockbottom out of her chair and back to his place. He’s going full bro.

The two-parter should conclude in two weeks.

Wednesday night’s episode is the sixth of the ratings-smashing 27th season of South Park, which debuted on Comedy Central in 1997. Additional new episodes of the latest season will air on Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Nov. 26 and Dec. 10, according to Comedy Central.

On South Park, Donald Trump Is Desperate to Exorcise the Antichrist

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

*Warning: This article contains spoilers*

Donald Trump is a father-to-be, and no one is happy about it. Not the president himself, not his vice president, JD Vance, and certainly not billionaire tech mogul and conservative activist, Peter Thiel. On the week’s episode of South Park, three of the most powerful men in America are dead set on finding a way to get rid of the Antichrist growing inside of Satan.

After PC Principal mistakes the children’s obsession with the “6 7” meme for satanic numerology, he invites Thiel to speak at the school. Thiel, who touts himself as the ultimate authority on biblical prophecy and the coming of the Antichrist, makes a few of his own innocuous references to “6 7,” only to be met with laughter from the students. Convinced that South Park Elementary has embraced the forces of darkness, he seizes all of the school’s private data to monitor the children’s behavior. (Thiel co-founded the government intelligence and software company Palantir.)

Of all the students, Cartman is most tickled by the meme, quite literally vomiting every time someone mentions it. Thiel, however, believes Cartman is possessed and stages an exorcism. When that fails, Thiel decides to take Cartman with him back to Washington, DC, telling Ms. Cartman, “Your son is the key to saving our country. Everything we hold dear could end. We have to unlock the secrets he holds, no matter what it takes.”

Along the way, Thiel stays in contact with Vance, who has a vested interest in the situation since Satan’s baby threatens his own path to the White House. (In turn, Vance promises Thiel “full access to everyone’s data” if he can put a stop to the demonic child.) Meanwhile, knowing that Trump himself no longer wants the baby — albeit for reasons mostly related to his tee times — Vance convinces him to visit an abortion clinic, where Trump promptly drops his trousers, only to be informed that’s not how the procedure works.

There is also a B-storyline involving Jesus going on a blind date at the Cheesecake Factory and eventually coming to blows with PC Principal after simmering tension over their clashing religious styles. But for the most part, this week’s South Park seemed to be setting the stage for episodes to coming later on in Season 27.

Following its premiere on Comedy Central, Season 27, Episode 6 of South Park — “”Twisted Christian” — will be available to stream on Hulu beginning Thursday, October 16th.

‘South Park’ Takes On Peter Thiel’s Antichrist Obsession

by jummy84 October 16, 2025
written by jummy84

South Park returned from another two-week break on Wednesday with some fresh jabs at Donald Trump and Peter Thiel.

During the Season 27 episode ‘Twisted Christian‘, Theil visits the children of South Park to preach against the “satanic numerology shit” going on at the school, as the kids share inside jokes about the numbers six and seven (an actual phenomena taking over schools recently).

“I’m Peter Thiel and I know about the anti-Christ,” he declares in the assembly after his own theme song states the same intro, a nod to the tech billionaire’s recent lectures on armageddon and the possible identity of the antichrist.

According to Thiel’s South Park lecture, the end of the world will happen in six to seven days, as predicted by Revelation 6:7. His obsession with the numbers results in Thiel turning South Park into a surveillance state and commandeering all the students’ data to compile a list of cultists.

“Wait why is there a camera in the girls bathroom?” asks Jesus, to which Thiel declares: “To stop the anti-Christ!”

Meanwhile, Cartman has the most aggressive reaction to the numbers, going full Linda Blair with projectile vomit. This draws Thiel to his door for an Exorcist homage as he is determined to get to the bottom of the numbers’ meaning and how Cartman is supposed to stop the antichrist.

Thiel remains in contact with JD Vance, who is determined to stop Satan from birthing Trump’s demonic spawn, as the POTUS visits Planned Parenthood to try and take matters into his own hands.

Unfortunately, the doctor is unable to help give Satan an abortion, so they instead recommend Trump reach out to Thiel, expert on the antichrist.

Turning its premiere-delayed 10 episode Season 27 into a mega season, South Park airs on Comedy Central at 10 pm ET Wednesdays, and the next day on Paramount+. Unless Parker and Stone hit the wall again this year and run out of time to get an episode on the air, South Park‘s remaining Season 27 shows will land on Oct. 29, Nov. 12, 26 and Dec. 10 respectively.

“Losing my job is not my choice!” Neon has reveled the main official US trailer for the terrific dark comedy titled No Other Choice from masterful Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook, his latest entertaining extra dark creation since making Decision to Leave back in 2022 (one of my faves). No Other Choice is the title of his new one, which is based on the 1997 novel called “The Ax” written by Donald Westlake. Fully reinvented into a Korean fable of a man who loses his job and doesn’t know what to do. A fresh murderous tale from one of the great Korean masters of dark & depraved thrills! Here’s the intro to this sneaky setup: After being laid off and unemployed for several years, a man devises a unique plan to finally secure a new job: eliminate his competition. This stars Lee Byung-hun as Man-soo, with Son Ye-jin, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Hee-soon, Yoo Yeon-seok, and Cha Seung-won. This premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and it also played at TIFF & NYFF, earning rave reviews from some critics, although I’m a bit more mixed on this one. Still – this is absolutely one Korean film that is entirely worth watching when it opens at the end of the year.

Here’s the official US trailer (+ Korean posters) for Park Chan-wook’s film No Other Choice, via YouTube:

You can rewatch the teaser trailer for Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice right here for the first look again.

Park Chan-wook’s new film No Other Choice is based on the 1997 novel “The Ax” from Donald Westlake. The story follows a man named Man-soo (Lee Byung-hun) who is abruptly laid off by the paper company where he worked tirelessly for many years. He grows increasingly desperate in his hunt for new work, and eventually he comes to a certain decision about how to handle the competition in the community. No Other Choice is directed by master Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook, director of many films including Joint Security Area, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Oldboy, Lady Vengeance, I’m a Cyborg But That’s OK, Thirst, Stoker, The Handmaiden, and Decision to Leave previously, and also the series “The Little Drummer Girl” and “The Sympathizer” most recently. The screenplay is also written by Park Chan-wook, Lee Kyoung-mi, Jahye Lee, and Don McKellar. Based on the book “The Ax” written by Donald E. Westlake. Produced by Park Chan-wook. This first premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and also played at TIFF & NYFF; it opened in Korean cinemas in September. Neon releases Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice film in select US theaters on December 25th, 2025, on Christmas Day, later this year – wide in January. Want to watch?
