“Trouble is brewing in the House of Guinness. Who will keep their head?” Netflix has revealed the official trailer for a new series titled House of Guinness, arriving for streaming in September this fall. A tale about the early days of the dark Irish beer brewery. Another new series from the creator of “Peaky Blinders” and “A Thousand Blows”. The series is about the family behind the Guinness brewing company in 19th-century Ireland and New York, and the consequences following the death of Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne and Ben. In the aftermath of the passing of brewery mogul Sir Benjamin Guinness, the series is about the great impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children: Arthur, Edward, Anne, Ben, and other Dubliners affected by the expanding Guinness empire in the 1800s. The big ensemble cast features Louis Partridge as Edward, Anthony Boyle as Arthur, Emily Fairn as Anne, Fionn O’Shea as Benjamin Guinness, David Wilmot, James Norton, Jack Gleeson, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O’Hara, Dervla Kirwan, Michael McElhatton, Hilda Fay, and Danielle Galligan. This almost looks like it’s trying to be “Game of Thrones” but about the Guinness beer brewery and Ireland instead of dragons.

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Netflix’s series House of Guinness, direct from YouTube:

House of Guinness is a series created and written by British screenwriter Steven Knight, known for writing Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises, Locke, The Hundred-Foot Journey, Seventh Son, Pawn Sacrifice, Allied, Serenity, Locked Down, Spencer, and Maria, as well as “Peaky Blinders”, “Taboo”, and recent “A Thousand Blows” series. With episodes directed by Tom Shankland & Mounia Akl. Produced by Howard Burch; with Cahal Bannon as series producer. Made by Kudos and Nebulastar. “Who do you work for?!” “No one.” Well Go USA has revealed the official trailer for a sci-fi action thriller movie called Affinity, another trashy B-movie being dumped direct to VOD this year. It’s the latest from filmmaker Brandon Slagle, known for Attack of the Unknown, Frost, Battle For Saipan, The Flood, Arena Wars. “Ex-SEAL. Elite team. One impossible truth.” A PTSD-afflicted ex-SEAL rescues & falls for a woman only to lose her to mysterious kidnappers. He gathers an elite team to retrieve her but soon discovers the shocking truth: she’s been bio-engineered by a scientist grieving his own wife. Affinity stars Marko Zaror, Louis Mandylor, Brooke Ence & Jane Mirro. Every single one of these bad action movies is always about rescuing a woman taken by some bad guys. That’s the plot every time and only the context changes. So many shots of Zaror’s brooding face in this looking super pissed off and ready to beat up more people. Ha…

Here’s the official US trailer (+ poster) for Brandon Slagle’s action movie Affinity, direct from YouTube:

Together they begin to build a life, but when she disappears, Bruno must return to his violent past if he’s going to save her from a shocking conspiracy in this riveting, fast-paced action film. Affinity is directed by American B-movie director / actor / musician Brandon Slagle, of many genre movies including The Dark Avengers, Subject 87, Area 51 Confidential, The Black Dahlia Haunting, Dead Sea, House of Manson, Escape from Ensenada, The Dawn, Attack of the Unknown, Frost, Battle For Saipan, Breakout, The Flood, Arena Wars. “My old friend… Come and get it!” Shout Studios has unveiled the official trailer for a throwback 80s movie remake titled Deathstalker, made by Canadian genre filmmaker extraordinaire Steven Kostanski (of The Void, Leprechaun Returns, Psycho Goreman (PG), and Frankie Freako. This fall, return to the Kingdom of Abraxeon with Kostanski reimagining of Roger Corman’s cult sword & sorcery 80s film series, Deathstalker (which began back in 1983). Starring Daniel Bernhardt as the titular Deathstalker with Patton Oswalt providing the voice of the benevolent wizard Doodad, this action fantasy adventure feature. Also featuring Christina Orjalo, Paul Lazenby, and Nina Bergman. Hitting theaters this October. This reboot focuses on the fantasy setting, utilizing creature suits, prosthetic FX make-up and stop-motion animation from his Action Pants FX shop. Deathstalker must face the rising evil and take on the undead sorcerer Nekromemnon to stop his Dreadites from conquering the lands. This looks like Army of Darkness but riffing on these kind of epic sword & sorcery classics of olde. Honestly it totally looks like the perfect pizza & beer weekend flick.

Here’s the official trailer (+ two posters) for Steven Kostanski’s movie Deathstalker, direct from YouTube:

To survive, he must break the curse and confront the rising evil. Death is just the beginning… of great adventure! Deathstalker is written and directed by Canadian genre filmmaker Steven Kostanski, director of the gnarly fan-favorite genre films Manborg, Father’s Day, The Void, Leprechaun Returns, Psycho Goreman (PG), and Frankie Freako previously, plus episodes of the rebooted “Day of the Dead” series recently. “I don’t want to do it… I would rather just find it…” Same for me. Apple TV has revealed the official trailer for All of You, a romantic drama from filmmaker William Bridges, best known as the writer of the “USS Callister” episodes from “Black Mirror”. This is the first feature film he’s directed, and it earned many great reviews last year – All of You premiered at the 2024 Toronto & London Film Festivals a year ago. Sadly it’s skipping theaters entirely but will be streaming at home starting this September. Brett Goldstein and Imogen Poots star in a stirring near-futuristic romance as best friends who harbor an unspoken love for one another even after this test matches one of them up with their supposed soulmate. All of You explores whether one person can ever be your everything in this humorous and heart-wrenching romantic drama. This near future sci-fi romance premise is very similar to the other Apple TV film Fingernails a few years ago. The cast of All of You also includes Steven Cree and Zawe Ashton. It’s a lovely trailer highlighting how heartfelt & passionate this story is. I really hope they end up together! I can feel the chemistry already.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for William Bridges’ romance film All of You, direct from YouTube:

All of You Official Trailer

Best friends since college, Simon (Brett Goldstein) and Laura (Imogen Poots) drift apart when she takes a test that finds her soulmate despite many years of unspoken feelings between them. As the time passes, as their paths cross and diverge, neither can deny the feeling that they’ve missed out on a life together. Faced with the uncertainty of changing the course of their lives, are Simon and Laura willing to risk everything to experience the love that had been between them all along, or should they accept their fate? All of You is directed by award-winning British writer / filmmaker Will Bridges (aka William Bridges), his first feature film after directing for the anthology film Ultimate Zombie Feast and creator of the “Soulmates” series; he also wrote the “USS Callister” episodes of “Black Mirror” previously. The screenplay is written by William Bridges and Brett Goldstein. It’s produced by Ryder Picture Company’s Aaron Ryder & Andrew Swett, with William Bridges & Brett Goldstein. This first premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival last year. Apple debuts Bridges’ film All of You streaming on Apple TV+ starting September 26th, 2025. Look any good?

“The road is clear. Each decision is yours…” Picturehouse in the UK has unveiled the first official trailer for the excellent indie film titled Urchin, which is the feature directorial debut of famous British actor Harris Dickinson (best known for starring in Triangle of Sadness, Scrapper, The Iron Claw, Babygirl, Blitz). This is his own film – he wrote and directed it. And it’s fantastic. Urchin initially premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival a few months ago, and I wrote a nice review saying: “Not only is the direction confident and the vision for this story clear, it’s a damn good film featuring clever creative choices. Delighted to report it’s one of the year’s best debuts.” Mike, a rough sleeper (aka homeless man) in London, is trapped in a cycle of self-destruction as he attempts to turn his life around. Featuring an outstanding performance from Frank Dillane as Mike, also with Megan Northam (from Meanwhile on Earth), Diane Axford, Murat Erkek, Moe Hashim, Shonagh Marie, & Karyna Khymchuk. This may not seem like it makes for a good story, but it definitely does, especially because this is such a cinematic presentation of Mike’s plight and troubles.

Here’s the official UK trailer (+ poster) for Harris Dickinson’s film Urchin, from Picturehouse’s YouTube:

Michael (starring Frank Dillane) barely scrapes by, surviving at the very edge of society in a world that is brutal and indifferent. After a tense incident lands him in prison, he tries to piece his life back together — entering rehab, looking for work, and attempting to reconnect with people. Urchin is written and directed by acclaimed British actor / writer / filmmaker Harris Dickinson, making his feature directorial debut after a few other short films previously. Produced by Archie Pearch & Scott O’Donnell. This first premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year (read our review). Picturehouse debuts Dickinson’s Urchin in UK cinemas starting on October 3rd, 2025 this fall. 1-2 Special will also release the film in select US theaters starting on October 10th. This is a good one – worth watching when it opens. How does that look?

“It seems like someone wanted all of us here…” Bleecker Street has debuted their full official trailer for a horror thriller dark comedy called Bone Lake, set to open in theaters starting in early October for anyone to enjoy. This film first premiered at Fantastic Fest last year, but didn’t show up at many other fests since then. When two young couples are mistakenly double-booked into the same vacation rental, their romantic weekend becomes a twisted maze of sex, lies, and survival. Directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan as her latest horror feature following Spoonful of Sugar and Fixation. Starring Maddie Hasson, Marco Pigossi, Alex Roe, Andra Nechita, Eliane Reis, and Clayton Spencer. This isn’t the first film about a double booked vacation rental, but it does look like it has a few other unique twists up its sleeves. What is this game they’re playing? The first teaser a few months ago is better than this trailer – which is more confusing than exciting.

Here’s the main official trailer (+ poster) for Mercedes Bryce Morgan’s film Bone Lake, from YouTube:

You can rewatch the teaser trailer for Mercedes Bryce Morgan’s Bone Lake right here for more footage.

“Sleek, sexy, erotic.” A couple’s romantic vacation at a secluded lakeside estate is upended when they are forced to share the mansion with a mysterious and attractive couple that also booked the same place. In this darkly hilarious and seductive horror story, a dream getaway spirals into a nightmarish maze of sex, lies, and manipulation, bringing terrifying secrets to light and triggering a bloody battle for survival. Bone Lake is directed by indie genre filmmaker Mercedes Bryce Morgan, director of the films Spoonful of Sugar and Fixation previously, plus tons of other music videos and short films. The screenplay is written by Joshua Friedlander. Produced by Jason Blumenfeld, Joshua Friedlander, Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, Jacob Yakob. This initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2024 in Austin, TX last year. Bleecker Street debuts Bone Lake in theaters nationwide starting on October 3rd, 2025 this fall. Who’s curious? “There’s dozens of dead bodies out there for it to munch on.” Well Go USA has revealed the official trailer for a shark movie called Beast of War, a WWII thriller from Australia about soldiers on a ship. From Kiah Roache-Turner, director of Wyrmwood and Sting, comes this uniquely terrifying tale. Set for a US release starting in October including on VOD right away. Based on true events about a warship carrying hundreds of Australian soldiers across the Timor Sea to the frontline of WWII. A group of young soldiers, fresh out of boot camp, find themselves stranded on a raft in the middle of the ocean after their ship is sunk. They must battle for their lives against a giant, very hungry great white shark. The cast features Mark Coles Smith, Joel Nankervis, Maximillian Johnson, Lee Tiger Halley, Sam Parsonson, Tristan McKinnon, & Sam Delich. This still looks a lot like almost every other shark movie. At least it seems they built a gigantic practical shark to use for filming, which looks much better than most of the CGI sharks in movie these days.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Kiah Roache-Turner’s film Beast of War, direct from YouTube:

When their boat is sunk while crossing the Timor Sea during World War II, a young troop of Australian soldiers must find a way to survive the harsh seas on a quickly shrinking life raft. Hundreds of miles from anywhere, they must confront interpersonal conflicts, enemy attacks, and the advances of one very large, very hungry great white shark. Beast of War is written and directed by Australian genre filmmaker Kiah Roache-Turner, director of the films Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead & Wyrmwood: Apocalypse, Sting, and Nekrotronic previously, as well as a few other shorts. Produced by Chris Brown and Blake Northfield. This initially premiered at the 2025 Melbourne Film Festival in Australia a few months back. Well Go USA will debut Beast of War in select US theaters + on VOD starting October 10th, 2025 this fall. Look scary?

Jack White Responds to Trump Official Calling Him a “Washed-Up, Has-Been Loser”

by jummy84 August 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Jack White is a longtime critic of President Donald J. Trump and his administration, and the musician has even taken legal action against the politician and his campaign. The latest chapter in the saga of White vs. White House came earlier this week when the White Stripes rocker insulted Trump’s redecoration of the Oval Office, saying that it now looks like “a vulgar, gold leafed and gaudy, professional wrestler’s dressing room.” The barb elicited a response from Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, who told The Daily Beast that White is “a washed up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career.”

Cheung further defended his boss’ aesthetic choices, telling the outlet: “It’s apparent he’s been masquerading as a real artist, because he fails to appreciate, and quite frankly disrespects, the splendor and significance of the Oval Office inside of ‘The People’s House.’”

The war of words continued yesterday (August 20), with White sharing a lengthy statement against Trump and his administration on Instagram. White criticized Trump’s “blatant fascist manipulation of government, his gestapo ICE tactics, his racist remarks about Latinos, Native Americans, etc. his ridiculous ‘wall’ construction, his attacks on the disabled, his attempted coup and mob insurrection and destruction of the sacred halls of congress,” and plenty more. He went on to use Cheung’s words against Trump, writing that the president “is masquerading as a human being,” and “masquerading as a christian, as a leader, as a person with actual empathy.”

Several artists—including Margo Price and Michigander’s Jason Singer—have supported White in the comments on his post. “You hit a fuckin’ nerve ‘cuz they don’t put out statements this length for earthquakes and shootings,” Patton Oswalt wrote. “Keep going.” Cat Power’s Chan Marshall added, “LOVE YOU JACK❤️‍🔥.”
