Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Bad Bunny has been announced as the headline performer for next year’s NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show – find out more below.

The news was announced today (September 29), just about five months ahead of the sporting mega event, which is due to take place on February 8 in San Francisco, California.

The announcement was made on Bad Bunny’s official social media pages, with the Puerto Rican rapper-singer sitting atop a goal post. Check out the announcement below.

The 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show was headlined by Kendrick Lamar, who made history as the first solo rapper to headline the coveted performance slot, and also shattered records to become the most-watched Halftime Show of all time.

Further details surrounding Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show, including guest performers, have yet to be announced.

In a statement regarding Bad Bunny’s performance, Jay-Z – who serves as the NFL’s music strategist via his label Roc Nation’s partnership with the league – said: “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Bad Bunny shared: “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

The Puerto Rican rapper-singer most recently concluded his historic Puerto Rico residency on September 20. The rapper’s ‘No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí’ residency kicked off on July 11 and was scheduled to end on September 14, but was later extended for one final show on September 20. The first nine dates of the residency were reserved exclusively for Puerto Rico residents, as was the final gig.

The final gig was live-streamed to fans across the globe on Amazon Music and Twitch channels worldwide, and was also be available to replay on the platform for 24 hours. The night saw the Puerto Rican artist bring out a host of special guests to see off the residency, including RaiNao, Dei V, Ñengo Flow, Arcángel, De La Ghetto, Jowell & Randy and salsa legend Marc Anthony. The latter teamed up with Bad Bunny for a heartfelt take on ‘Preciosa’.

Acts who were considered front-runners for the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show included Taylor Swift – who recently announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and has an open-invite to perform, per the NFL Commissioner – and hometown heroes Metallica, who have openly discussed their eagerness to perform.

NFL Star Stefon Diggs In Paternity Dispute w/ Influencer As He Awaits Baby w/ Cardi B

#StefonDiggs is unsure if he’s the father of a months-old baby girl.

The New England Patriots player is involved in a paternity dispute with model and influencer Aileen Lopera, who claims he is the father of her child born in April. While Stefon hasn’t denied having a s3xual relationship at one point with the woman, he is “not certain” the child is his. To get to the bottom of things, he requested genetic testing, and in July, a judge ordered both parties to undergo it. It’s unclear whether the testing took place or what the results were.

Stefon is known for keeping his private life private, so the chances of any confirmation coming from him are slim. He even jokingly dodged questions recently when asked about the baby he’s expecting with his girlfriend, rapper #CardiB. His silence isn’t stopping Aileen from speaking out. Her lawyer said in a statement to PEOPLE, “My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs acknowledges and provides for his infant daughter in Los Angeles.”

Watch Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson Sing National Anthem at NFL Game

The British musician performed ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ home game against the Seattle Seahawks

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson offered his take on the American national anthem at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium on Sunday.

The English musician was asked to perform the song at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ first home game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks, noting on Instagram that it was “a huge honour” to be invited. Dickinson left the field to chants of “U.S.A! U.S.A!”

“I’ll let you in to a secret,” Dickinson said in a recent interview on podcast The Charismatic Voice. “I’ve got to sing the national anthem in Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They’ve asked me to do this. I’m going to do it a cappella and stuff, and as long as you start at the right place, you’re good to go.”

Fans were entertained by the NFL‘s decision to enlist a musician from the U.K. to perform America’s anthem at a very American sport. “The most random thing I saw today was a British man singing the American national anthem,” one commenter wrote on Instagram. Another added, “Why is a Brit singing the American national anthem? Especially at this current time?”

Trending Stories

Dickinson is currently on the North American leg of his Mandrake Project solo tour. It continues on Tuesday in Toronto before heading to Montreal later this week. The tour wraps in Los Angeles on Oct. 5 with a show at the Wiltern.

Iron Maiden is celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2025, with a new documentary about the metal greats is slated to be released later this year. Directed by Malcolm Venville, the as-yet-untitled film will dig into Iron Maiden’s remarkable 50-year history and legacy, telling the story from the perspective of both band and fans (including famous ones like Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich, and Gene Simmons). The film will also feature interviews with key members from throughout the band’s run, including the last interview with original vocalist Paul Di’Anno, who died last year.

Obviously I don’t want to come across as that… If I rubbed anybody the wrong way, I’ll I really want to apologize.”

Is Taylor Swift playing the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show? “Maybe”, says NFL commissioner

Could Taylor Swift be headlining the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show? “Maybe,” says NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Swift has long been a top contender for a Super Bowl halftime show performance, and speculation that she’ll soon be headlining the coveted slot has picked up steam in recent weeks.

Speaking on the Today Show recently, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was asked if she would be headlining next year’s Super Bowl performance. He responded: “We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent and obviously, she would be welcome at any time.”

When asked point blank if it was “in the works” for the 2026 slot, he deflected: “I can’t tell you anything about that.” When pressed for a firm answer, he coyly replied: “It’s a maybe.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says Taylor Swift doing the Super Bowl halftime show is a possibility.

As for when 2026’s performer will be announced, Goodell said he’s waiting on the NFL’s music supervisor Jay-Z to finalise a date. Performers are typically announced between September and October the previous year – Kendrick Lamar was announced in September 2024 to headline this year’s sporting event.

Fans have been speculating that Swift would be headlining the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show in recent weeks. Last month, Swift made her first appearance on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where she announced her upcoming 12th album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.

For some fans, this was confirmation enough that she’ll headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show, because the choice to announce her album on there specifically seemed a puzzling, but perhaps intentional choice. Some have even pointed out potential hints captured throughout the podcast episode – check out “evidence” of this here.

Another act who have expressed their interest in the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show are metal legends Metallica, who noted that next year’s sporting event will take place in their hometown of San Francisco.

Speaking to Howard Stern recently, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich responded when asked if they were keen on playing the Super Bowl next year: “Fuck yeah, of course we would. First of all we would do it. Second of all to do it in San Francisco would be a dream come true and would be the right fit… Certainly as somebody who’s represented San Francisco all over the world and shouted for decades about San Francisco and our love for the Bay Area, that part of it is the right fit. Ultimately it’s not our decision.”

NFL predictions: Ndamukong Suh picks Super Bowl contenders, dark horses, MVP and players to watch

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Both the Eagles and Chiefs are among the teams expected to get back to the big game but who are the other sides to watch? Who will end the season as MVP? Which defensive and offensive players will stand out? And who are the dark horses?

To answer all those questions, RadioTimes.com sat down with NFL legend and Sky Sports pundit Ndamukong Suh to get his predictions for the season ahead.

Ndamukong Suh’s NFL 2025 predictions

Super Bowl contenders

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty Images Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty Images

“I think there are going to be a lot of teams that have an opportunity to win. I think the strongest conference will be the NFC but there are a couple of teams I think have an opportunity to get to the Super Bowl.

“I have to mention the Kansas City Chiefs. I would also say the Detroit Lions. I think the Washington Commanders as well. And of course, the Philadelphia Eagles seem like they’re rebuilding every single year to make that hard push to get into the Super Bowl.

“Those are my kind of top four teams as of right now that I think have a legit chance to get there as of right now.”

Dark horses

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, in white, blue and orange NFL uniform, hands off the American football to running back D'Andre Swift, with Bears and Kansas City Chiefs players in the background.

“I’ve just got a good feeling about my dark horses being the Chicago Bears. I think Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams are going to find a way to create havoc in that black and blue division of the NFC North.

“Ultimately, I mean, it’s fair game for anybody and everybody. Everybody is at 00:00 today. We’ll see after week one how things shape up but even then. I mean, it’s so early in the season. The season, honestly, hasn’t even started yet.”

MVP

Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson, in purple and black NFL uniform, prepares to throw an American football.

“My MVP for this year is Lamar Jackson. And the reason I’m picking him is I believe he and the Baltimore Ravens understand this is kind of a ‘put up or shut up’ year.

“He’s going to have to have an MVP season to be able to dethrone the two nemeses of his career – Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs – to win that Conference (the AFC) and go from there.”

Defensive player to watch

Green Bay Packers Micah Parsons, in a yellow hat and a green, yellow and blue jumper, gestures as he speaks in front of a Green Bay Packers sponsors board.

“The player I’m most excited to watch outside of my defensive tackles? That would have to be Micah Parsons.

“I think as long as he stays healthy, you’re going to see a Green Bay Packers defence that is built around him to have success. I feel like they made that trade as their next version of Reggie White to come in and take them to a Super Bowl and have an opportunity to go and win it.”

Offensive player to watch

Saquon Barkley, in green and white NFL uniform, celebrates with his Philadelphia Eagles teammates in the end zone.

“The non-quarterback to stand out this year? It’s a tough one. I mean, I think my easy answer would be Saquon Barkley. I think he back doors his successful season.

“He may not have a record-breaking year, but he’s still going to be a massive force to be dealt with. He’s obviously the linchpin and cornerstone of the Philadelphia Eagles team and offence.”

How to watch NFL on TV

Robert Rushing Tells Toya Johnson He “Will No Longer Be Available” Once NFL Season Starts

Earlier this week, Robert Rushing and Toya Johnson took to Instagram to share a joint video post from their accounts. Furthermore, the caption read, “Had to hit her with them papers… it’s that time again. 🏈…”

In the video, Rushing appears to be filming while approaching Johnson with a paper in his hand. As he hands it off to her, Johnson then begins to read the document.

“‘Toya, this is to inform you that 1 week from today is the start of the Falcons’ football season. For the past several months, I have been a helpful, engaging, and loving husband. However, I regret to inform you [that] I am putting my 1 week notice. I will no longer be available for relationship or dad needs on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., some Mondays, and Thursday evenings, due to other commitments,’” she reads.

Before concluding, the letter stated that Rushing’s new schedule will be in effect until February. In turn, once Johnson finished reading, she threw the paper into the air and then shared some words for her husband.

Peep her reaction below.

To note, the NFL season reportedly begins on Thursday, September 4, and the Atlanta Falcons kick off their first game on Sunday, September 7.

Months before Robert Rushing gave Toya Johnson his NFL season start notice, he and Toya Johnson were making headlines for another set of antics. As The Shade Room previously reported, in April, the couple took to YouTube to share footage of Johnson’s “first time trying a cold plunge.”

Ultimately, the clip left social media users crackin’ up and “in tears.”

Taylor Swift ‘Welcome’ by NFL Chief to Play Super Bowl Halftime Show

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s safe to say the NFL commissioner is a Swiftie, too. On Wednesday, Roger Goodell essentially extended an open invitation to Taylor Swift to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, stating that she’s “welcome at any time.”

“We would always love to have Taylor play,” Goodell said during an appearance on the Today Show. “She is a special, special talent and obviously, she would be welcome at any time.”

When asked directly if there were any official plans in the works to get Swift on the halftime show stage, Goodell played coy. “I can’t tell you anything about that,” he said at first, but when pressed, he added: “It’s a maybe.”

As for when a decision might be announced, Goodell deferred to Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation helms the Super Bowl Halftime Show. “I’m waiting on my friend Jay-Z to help me with that one,” Goodell said. “It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.”

Reps for Swift, Jay-Z, and Roc Nation did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s requests for comment.

And as if there was even a shred of doubt based on his previous comments, Goodell proudly declared himself among Swift’s fans: “I’m definitely a Swiftie,” he said.

Swift would make sense for the February 2026 game at Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Over the past few years in particular, her name has been mentioned as a likely prospect. For one, she’s about to drop her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Oct. 3, so she’d be armed with new material to perform. And because the album won’t be eligible for the Grammys until the 2027 edition, her schedule would likely be open for the Super Bowl.

She also has a long-established relationship with the NFL, having sung the National Anthem in 2006 at the Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving Day game. In 2010, she performed at the NFL’s Opening Kickoff event in New Orleans. She teased “Me!” during the 2019 NFL draft and debuted a trailer for Midnights during the third quarter of a 2022 Thursday night game between the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals.

Trending Stories

Last but not least, she’s been a constant at NFL games, given her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end and now-fiancé, Travis Kelce.

For now, we’ll have to await an official announcement, which is likely to arrive soon. Last year, officials announced Kendrick Lamar as the headliner on Sept. 8.

NFL Boss Roger Goodell On If Taylor Swift Is in Mix For 2026 Super Bowl

by jummy84 September 3, 2025
written by jummy84

With an announcement expected soon, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell cranked up the hype machine for the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show to 11 on Wednesday morning (Sept. 3) when he appeared on the Today Show and casually dropped the biggest name in the pop universe as a possibility.

Asked if it’s possible that Taylor Swift might do the honors on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., Goodell played it coy while saying the loudest part out loud. “We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time,” he said.

Asked by co-host Savannah Guthrie if a Swift-time show is in the works, Goodell said, “I can’t tell you anything about it.” When Guthrie wondered if it was a “maybe,” Goodell continued the tease, adding, “It’s a maybe.”

Swift’s name has bubbled up as a possible halftime performer in the run-up to what is typically an early September announcement for a number of reasons. The first, of course, is that she has become a staple at NFL games over the past two years thanks to her relationship with Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, to whom she got engaged last month. The singer also has a new album coming out on Oct. 3, The Life of a Showgirl.

Whoever it is, they will have big shoes to fill after Kendrick Lamar crushed it at this year’s halftime in February. Billboard has gotten in on the speculation, with everyone from Swift to Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Drake, BTS, Bay area legends Green Day and Metallica and Jay-Z making our short list.

While avowed Swiftie Goodell kept it vague with Today, he added, “I’m waiting for my friend Jay-Z. It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the smoke to come out.” Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation, have been producing the Super Bowl halftime shows since 2020. While the roster has leaned into the R&B/hip-hop vein since then, with shows by The Weeknd, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Anderson .Paak and Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Usher and Lamar last year, Swift’s name has perennially been in the mix as a possible performer on the biggest stage of the year.

And in her inimitable fashion, Swift has been subtly dropping Easter eggs that seem to point to a possible Santa Clara Sunday in February. In advance of the album that Swift has teased will bring back her big pop era, the singer announced the LP on the Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast last month, noting that she learned she’d secured the rights to her master recordings just a few months before attending this year’s Super Bowl.

She also noted that she used to not pay attention to the big game growing up, though her dad was a huge NFL fan. “My relationship with sports was like, I grew up in Pennsylvania, I always heard my dad yelling at the screen watching Eagles games,” she said. “I was up in my room playing guitar, learning instruments, playing piano — I was focused on different things. I would go to sporting events so that I could sing the national anthem. I know every halftime show from the Super Bowls, but I didn’t watch the sports.”

Though her focus on the halftime show was seemingly random, she also did a deep dive into her latest obsession: sourdough bread. That was telling because the mascot for the San Francisco 49ers franchise — whose home stadium will host the game — is Sourdough Sam and the this season will end with the 60th Super Bowl, a number that just happens to match the percentage Swift used to describe her level of bread talk lately.

Swift also kept bringing up the number 47 during the pod, thanking co-host Jason Kelce for “screaming for like 47 seconds for me” and saying she’d visited “47,000” countries on her Eras Tour (actually 21). It’s worth noting that the 47th of 149 shows on the global Eras tour was, of course, July 2023 at Levi’s Stadium. Never a coincidence, as Swifties know all too well.
