Olivia Dean Makes SNL Debut, Dijon Announced For Next Month

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

TikTok-viral soft-pop singer Olivia Dean made her debut on SNL last night in an episode hosted by fellow first-timer Glen Powell. Her sophomore album The Art Of Loving arrived in September, and she sang two songs from it, “Man I Need” and “Let Alone The One You Love.”

The episode was light on the music, but Powell did sing in the pre-taped music video “I Miss My Ex’s Dad” alongside Tommy Brennan and Ben Marshall (Powell played the father in question). Other notable moments included a surprise return from former cast member Will Forte in some new MacGruber pre-tapes poking fun at the Epstein files, during which Powell and Chloe Fineman played MacGruber’s partners.

In more SNL news, the show just announced details for their December 6 episode. Dijon will make his musical guest debut with returning host Melissa McCarthy. See highlights from last night below.

It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month — This Is My Story From Survival To Safe Horizon

by jummy84 October 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Warning: This story contains graphic details of domestic violence.

I will never forget the night that finally made me leave. My ex-partner and I were at an event with friends. Everything seemed fine until he — as he often did — switched from affectionate to enraged without warning. Throughout the night, he sent me cryptic texts: “I’m watching you. You’ll see what happens when we get home.”

The venue was dark and crowded, which allowed him to hide in the shadows. When he finally appeared, I was already in tears. I told him I was done. He grabbed me so tightly I could barely breathe, whispering, “You’ll never leave me.” When I tried to escape, he threw me to the ground and began kicking me—my face, my stomach, my back. I remember praying, “God, please help me get through this.” A friend eventually pulled him off me, and another rushed me outside.

That night, I ran to my sister’s apartment. My best friend joined us, and together they convinced me to call my mother. I didn’t want to; I had been hiding so much from my family, and I knew calling meant going to the hospital and filing a report. I also feared what my ex had always threatened: “If you send me to jail, I’ll kill myself.”

When my mom saw my bruised face over FaceTime, she broke down. At the hospital, I was surrounded by police officers and doctors, forced to retell the story again and again. Even then, I tried to protect him—until I learned he and his mother lied to the police, saying I’d fallen down stairs. That betrayal broke something in me. I told the truth. I filed for a restraining order, terrified but determined to protect myself.

When I met him, I was in a vulnerable place and searching for love, something I think now that he sensed. The control and manipulation started subtly—name-calling, jealousy, isolation. I was shocked, yes, but I took it because I convinced myself that he loved me. Then the emotional abuse became physical. I was constantly walking on eggshells, terrified of his next outburst. He would punch walls, throw objects, and then apologize, promising he’d never hurt me again. Like so many survivors, I stayed, believing he could change. I was in a constant state of hope—hope that the man I first met would return, hope that things would go back to “normal.” However, the truth is that there was never anything normal about it.

Domestic violence is not simply isolated or personal; it’s cultural, systemic, and global. It crosses every boundary: race, class, gender, and age.

The abuse only escalated from there. Over time, I became someone I didn’t recognize—isolated, anxious, and ashamed. He would push me against walls, crack drywall, and then threaten to harm himself to pull me back in. I remember breaking down locked doors to stop him from self-harming. Every time I thought of leaving, he’d promise to change—or promise to die.

After that final night, something inside me broke open. I started therapy and eventually found Safe Horizon through friends and family who told me about the work they do. It was the first time I felt truly ready to speak out.

I learned that my story was not unique, and that’s what makes it so devastating. Domestic violence is not simply isolated or personal; it’s cultural, systemic, and global. It crosses every boundary: race, class, gender, and age. The tactics abusers use are eerily similar: isolation, intimidation, emotional manipulation, and control.

Safe Horizon, the largest victim service nonprofit in the U.S., provides critical resources for survivors of abuse and violent crime. What drew me to them was their inclusive approach—they support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and more. Their Streetwork Project helps young people experiencing homelessness due to abuse, offering food, shelter, medical care, and compassion without judgment. They reach survivors wherever they are, meeting them with dignity and safety.

Too often, young women—especially Black women—don’t feel safe seeking help. We’re told to stay quiet, that no one will believe us, that leaving is pointless. And the question survivors hear most—“Why didn’t you just leave?”—is one of the most harmful. As FKA Twigs bravely shared when speaking about her own experience, that question blames the survivor instead of the perpetrator. Leaving isn’t simple—it’s dangerous. It’s layered with fear, shame, financial dependency, and psychological manipulation. Even after leaving, survivors face systemic challenges: renewing restraining orders, reliving trauma in court, and constantly looking over our shoulders.

Through Safe Horizon, I found healing, advocacy, and community. The organization’s leaders like Lisa A. O’Connor and Liz Roberts, create true safety by approaching survivors with empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence. Even small gestures—asking “Do you welcome hugs?”—remind survivors that we have autonomy again.

One of the most profound parts of my healing has been realizing that survival doesn’t mean the pain disappears. It means transforming it. As author and grief expert David Kessler wrote, I learned to turn my “pain into purpose”. I use my voice now to help others recognize the signs of abuse before it’s too late. Love should never make you smaller. Real love doesn’t silence, it protects and uplifts.

If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, reach out to Safe Horizon at 1-800-621-HOPE (4673) or visit safehorizon.org. There is a way out, and there are people here to help you find it.

Jane Seymour and John Zambetti celebrate anniversary every month

27 October 2025

Jane Seymour and her partner think it is “safer” to celebrate their anniversary every month.

John Zambetti and Jane Seymour celebrate their anniversary every month

The 74-year-old actress found love with John Zambetti, 76, two years ago, but she and the doctor like to mark their love for one another regularly because they don’t know how much time they will have together due to their advancing years.

Jane told Briain’s HELLO! magazine: “Today is our 25th anniversary – 25 months today.

“We decided that [because] we met in our seventies it’s probably safer to go every month. So every month, on the fourth, he sends me roses, wherever I am, whatever’s going on. We’re just so grateful for every minute we have together.”

Jane – who was married four times before she met John – feels “so fortunate” that she and her partner, who is also a musician, met so much later in life because she doesn’t think things would have worked out between them otherwise.

She said: “You’ve had a life. Many lives. And children, and grandchildren, and careers, and ups and downs. You know what you want. I consider both of us so fortunate to have found each other at the time we have, because it wouldn’t have ever worked earlier.

“He had a different life – his world was medicine and touring, and mine was running around the world making movies. I think we met each other at exactly the right time.”

The Harry Wild actress admitted that sex is still important in their relationship.

She said: “In my parents’ generation, and I think a lot of people, they reach a certain age and they go, ‘That’s not part of our life any more, and it’s not necessary’. I just think, with maturity, you understand your body, you understand what feels good and you have knowledge, so put it down to that.”

Jane couldn’t be happier with her life today.

She said: “I honestly never thought I would find a really committed, healthy, lovely, loving relationship at this time of my life, but I’m incredibly blessed that I have. 70 is the new 50…

“To have life and to have the world that we live in, and to have my grandchildren and friends and work that I love, and a man that I love. That combination gives me joy.”

Limp Bizkit to continue with tour next month as details emerge on Sam Rivers’ death

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Limp Bizkit will reportedly go ahead with their forthcoming tour dates, despite the death of bassist Sam Rivers – further details of which have now emerged.

Rivers, who founded the band with Fred Durst in 1994, passed away last Saturday (October 18). He was 48 years old.

Paying tribute online, Limp Bizkit wrote: “Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player – he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound.”

Frontman Durst later shared an emotional video message, where he called Rivers a “legend, truly”. He added: “Such a gifted, unbelievably sweet and wonderful person.”

A cause of death was not disclosed at the time. Yesterday (Tuesday October 21), TMZ reported that Rivers had suffered a cardiac arrest on October 18, and was “nonresponsive”.

“Deputies responded to an attended death at that address,” a spokesperson for the St. Johns County, Florida Fire Rescue told the outlet.

An “attended death” is when a person is already suffering from a life-threatening illness. Rivers had worn a “Fuck Cancer” T-shirt while performing with Limp Bizkit this year. However, the official cause of death currently remains unknown.

Additionally, it appears that Limp Bizkit are set to go ahead with their upcoming scheduled live shows. Their ‘Gringo Papi Tour’ with Yungblud, Riff Raff and more is scheduled to kick off in Mexico City on November 29.

Further dates are lined up across South America, with stops in San José, Bogotá, Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.

As The PRP reports, promoters for the Mexico City concert issued the following statement: “Limp Bizkit has decided to continue with its performance on November 29th at the Explanada Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, as part of its ‘Gringo Papi Tour‘ 2025.”

The message added: “That night, every riff and every scream of the crowd will resonate in honor of the great legacy Sam offered to to Nu-Metal, because his energy will never cease.”

Rivers’ final performances with Limp Bizkit took place at Reading & Leeds 2025 in August. The bassist had temporarily departed the band in 2015, before returning to the line-up in 2018.

In 2020, Rivers revealed that his exit five years earlier had been due to liver disease as a result of “excessive drinking”.

“I quit drinking and did everything the doctors told me,” he said. “I got treatment for the alcohol and got a liver transplant, which was a perfect match.”

Durst’s recent video tribute saw him recall meeting Rivers in the 1990s, when he was trying to put together a band in Jacksonville, Florida. He said he saw the musician “killing it on the bass” with another band in a small bar. “I went, ‘Oh my gosh, this guy is amazing’,” he continued.

He later added: “It’s so tragic that he’s not here right now, and I’ve gone through gallons and gallons of tears since yesterday. And I’m thinking, gosh, Sam’s a legend, you know? He did it, he lived it.”

Bollywood actress Gauahar Khan is seen embracing motherhood in her own unique way and she’s not afraid to show it. On September 1, 2025, the actress welcomed her second son, Farvaan, with husband Zaid Darbar. Just over a month later, Gauahar is back in the spotlight, not for a film or TV project, but for an impromptu Bhangra dance video that she shared with her followers. On Friday night, Gauahar posted a vibrant video on her Instagram handle, dancing energetically to Karan Aujla’s hit track “For a Reason”.

One Instagram user questioned why Gauahar was glorifying the postpartum period, implying that her performance was unrealistic or inappropriate so soon after giving birth. Gauahar didn’t hold back in her response and said, “Why shouldn’t I??? Do you have a rule book??? Please live your life by your own rules. I live by my own rules.” Her confident reply struck a chord with many followers, who immediately came to her defense.

The comment section soon turned into a space of encouragement, especially from other mothers who saw Gauahar’s post as empowering. Some of the reactions included, “You’re amazing. Dancing a month after giving birth was a dream for me.” Another comment read, “It doesn’t feel like you’re the mother of two beautiful children.” One user said, “It makes me so happy to see you dance. You’re such an inspiration!” Gauahar’s bold and honest response resonated with those who believe motherhood should be celebrated in all its forms, including moments of personal joy and expression.

Official US Trailer for ‘Radu Jude’s Dracula’ Film Out Later This Month

by Alex Billington
October 8, 2025
Source: YouTube

“Suck it, Dracula!” 1-2 Special has revealed the full official US trailer for a film called Dracula, yet another new Dracula movie this year – along with Luc Besson’s Dracula. This one is actually called Radu Jude’s Dracula, the official title because it’s directed by Romanian filmmaker Radu Jude. Looks totally bonkers! He’s the original intro from the Locarno Film Festival: “A Dracula film made in Transylvania. What does it contain? A vampire hunt. Zombies & Dracula crashing a strike. A sci-fi story about Vlad the Impaler coming back. An adaptation of the first Romanian vampire novella. A love story. A montage film reusing a classic vampire film. A vulgar folktale. AI-generated kitsch stories. And many delights in a film dealing with this cinema myth.” The film is a riff on Artificial intelligence including scenes created with AI because it’s acting as commentary on how stupid AI is, not indulging in it. This stars Adonis Tanța, Oana Maria Zaharia, Gabriel Spahiu, Ilinca Manolache, Alexandru Dabija, Andrada Balea, Doru Talos, Lukas Miko, Serban Pavlu, and Alexandra Harapu. This looks like a crazy fun new creation from Radu Jude’s mind.

Here’s the official US trailer (+ poster) for Radu Jude’s Dracula, direct from 1-2’s YouTube:

Radu Jude's Trailer

Radu Jude's Poster

A frustrated filmmaker, facing creative paralysis, turns to an AI chatbot in order to make his latest movie a hit. The result is a series of increasingly outrageous vignettes exploring the myth of Dracula in all its forms. From a wild chase through the streets of modern Transylvania to eerie hauntings in the Romanian countryside, cinematic provocateur Radu Jude returns with another boundary-pushing epic featuring a union-busting Dracula breaking a strke, an adaptation of the first Romania vampire novella, thwarted romance, fields of phalluses, lots of blood, and much more. Radu Jude’s Dracula is written and directed by acclaimed Romanian indie filmmaker Radu Jude, director of many indie films including The Happiest Girl in the World, A Film for Friends, Everybody in Our Family, Aferim!, Scarred Hearts, I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians, Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn, and Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World previously, plus tons of other shorts & unique docs. Produced by Rodrigo Teixeira & Alexandru Teodorescu. This first premiered at the 2025 Locarno Film Festival a few months ago. 1-2 Special will release Radu Jude’s Dracula in select US theaters starting October 29th, 2025 this fall. Who’s down?
