Gurinder Chadha on Priyanka Chopra’s Hands-on Parenting, Moments With Malti Marie – Exclusive

by jummy84 December 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Acclaimed filmmaker Gurinder Chadha recently spoke to Filmfare about her upcoming movie Christmas Karma. In an exclusive conversation, when asked about her close bond with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, she offered a rare and affectionate glimpse into the actor’s life as a mother. Chadha, who has known Priyanka for years, said one of the most delightful aspects of their friendship today is watching the star embrace motherhood so naturally and wholeheartedly.

“One of the loveliest things for me is to hang out with Priyanka as a mom,” Chadha said, as she described Priyanka’s daughter, Malti Marie, as an absolute joy. “Little Malti Marie, I mean what a gorgeous little thing. She is a Disney princess.” Chadha also shared that Malti is currently in her animated-film era. As in, she is shopping at the Disney store, collecting Moana merchandise, singing the songs and watching all the classic movies. “Lilo & Stitch is her favourite at the moment,” Gurinder added.

According to Chadha, Malti is lively, curious and constantly active. “She is a little treasure and it’s lovely to see Priyanka being a mom with her. She is so much fun. Malti is always doing something or the other, and Priyanka sometimes says, ‘It’s exhausting.’ I tell her, ‘I’ve been there. I know.'”

When asked if Priyanka is a hands-on mother, Chadha didn’t pause for a second. “Oh yeah,” she said emphatically. She recalled a lunch they had in New York, where Priyanka arrived with Malti despite knowing it would make it tough to talk about work. “She brought her anyway,” Chadha said with a laugh. “This little kid is controlling and ruling everything.”

What touched Chadha most was Priyanka’s preparedness and involvement. “She was bringing out crayons, colouring things. She was giving her dolls and building blocks. She had everything ready to keep the little one occupied. It is a lovely thing to see,” the Christmas Karma director added.

Priyanka Chopra

Chadha, a mother of twins, said she occasionally shares parenting advice with Priyanka. “Yes, I did give her tips. I am the authority, having had twins,” she joked. But beyond parenting, Chadha said their connection is deeper. “It is nice that we can speak as professional Indian women who work in the West, and also have an Indian heart and sensibility,” she noted.

Gurinder Chadha’s upcoming film, Christmas Karma, is releasing on December 12, 2025. Indian audiences can watch the movie in theatres, associated with PVRINOX Pictures.

The Biggest Moments From Day 1

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Lines wrapped around Las Vegas’ Caesars Forum as thousands waited for the doors of BravoCon 2025 to open on Friday. The crowd was dripping in fan-made jackets, T-shirts and bags with their favorite cast one-liners and photos, Bravo-leb endorsed merch and more than a dozen nods to Bronwyn Newport’s viral red fur heart jacket. The excitement only grew as the day progressed, with news dropping across the Bravo-verse and on the three stages, featuring an all-day lineup of content that spilled over into the evening.

Here are the biggest moments from Day 1:

The “Below Deck Captains & Crew Oughta Know” panel brought together those at the helm of various Below Deck franchises to unpack their tensions on land and sea. It also showed a special sneak peek of the Below Deck Down Under premiere, featuring The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City crossover charter. Bravo is doubling down on its Below Deck empire, with season 13 taking place in Thailand (airing next year) and Below Deck Mediterranean with Capt. Sandy Yawn and Chief Stew Aesha Scott setting sail for season 11. Below Deck Down Under premieres on Feb. 2; one of the most celebrated returns of BravoCon, Chef Ben Robinson delighted every crowd he encountered, except crewmate Daisy Kelliher, who said that he “challenged me in every way possible.”

Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis revealed during their morning panel that Lewis will return to Bravo with Still Flipping Out, seven years after Flipping Out went off air. The new show will follow Lewis as he navigates his Radio Andy show Jeff Lewis Live, his design work and his volatile personality.

The Valley will be spun off into The Valley: Persian Style with  Bravo alums Reza Farahan, Golnesa Gharachedaghi and Mercedeh Javid, as the friends move from Beverly Hills to “the valley.” It was also revealed that Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz will join the third season of The Valley proper, which returns without Jax Taylor.

The cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills gathered for a sneak peek of season 15, which featured fashion maven Racel Zoe visiting the home of Kathy Hilton for a styling session and Kyle Richards and her four daughters planning a ”romantic midnight garden”-themed wedding for Alexia Umansky. Dorit Kemsley also unpacked about her decision to file for divorce from PK. After the screening, Zoe received a thunderous applause from the audience to mark her return to Bravo and Kathy Hilton drove everyone into hysterics by telling the audience to close their eyes while she did her “Labubu voice.” Hilton caused a near-riot at the Bravo Bazaar with an appearance at her trinket boutique collaboration.

Some of the day’s loudest screams came from the Bravo Bazaar, showcasing more than 30 talent-led partnerships. Lexus revealed its Glam LX, a modified LX SUV outfitted with a full mobile makeup salon. This was the first time a car has ever come to the event with Bravoleb interactions, courtesy of Meredith Marks, Tamra Judge and Heather Dubrow. State Farm’s setup, though, drew the biggest crowd as Craig Conover from Southern Charm and “Jake from State Farm” visited the Sew What sewing shop for limited-edition embroidered Charleston-inspired swag.

During the evening’s Bravo awards show, where all 160-plus talent were in attendance at PH Live Theater, Andy Cohen presented original Real Housewives of Orange County castmember Vicki Gunvalson with an orange and asked her to return to the show for season 20. She accepted.

After more than a decade, the castmembers and families of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice, Melissa and Joe Gorga, publicly reconciled. Giudice teased the reconciliation during the “Yep, We Are Besties Panel.” Later, the group, along with Giudice’s husband, Luis Ruelas, posted photos from their Bravos meetup on social media, and Cohen popped up in the audience of Giudice’s panel to ask her if she really meant to push him out of the way back in the season two reunion show.

Watch: The Trailer for Dining With The Kapoors Is Full of Fun Moments

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

The trailer for Dining with the Kapoors is finally here, offering a warm, nostalgic look into one of India’s most iconic film families. The one-hour special drops on November 21 and promises viewers a seat at the lunch table where laughter, legacy, and never-before-seen moments unfold.
For almost a hundred years, the Kapoors have shaped Indian cinema, not just through their films, but through a cultural imprint that spans generations. This special brings the entire clan together to honour the legendary Raj Kapoor on his 100th birth anniversary, blending emotion, humour, and the unmistakable Kapoor charm.

Created by Armaan Jain and directed by Smriti Mundhra (Indian Matchmaking, The Romantics, Never Have I Ever), it takes a fly-on-the-wall documentary approach. Shot with an intimate, unfiltered gaze, it captures everything from playful teasing to heartfelt memories, all tied together by the family’s shared love for food, stories, and togetherness.
The gathering features Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Rima Jain, Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Aadar Jain, and more, a rare coming-together of Bollywood royalty under one roof.

Dining with the Kapoors premieres on November 21 on Netflix, inviting audiences to feast their eyes, and hearts, on food, family, and a celebration that honours a century of cinematic heritage.

Director Smriti Mundhra shares, “I’ve been lucky to work with Netflix a few times before—on Indian Matchmaking, Never Have I Ever and The Romantics—so coming back to do this project is like a homecoming in more ways than one. Telling a story about the importance of family and the value of legacy in this time when the pace of life is taking us away from those things feels very special.”

She adds, “The Kapoors are not just a Bollywood dynasty, but the type of family we all want to be a part of: extremely tight, fun loving, and absolutely obsessed with food. What I wanted to capture wasn’t just their story on the surface, but that feeling of being right there at the table with them—hearing the stories, the laughter, the unfiltered moments that happen when the performance drops away. I’m grateful to Armaan Jain and the entire Kapoor clan for allowing me to be a small part of their legacy.”

Bad Bunny, Karol G, Best Moments of the Night

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Each year, the Latin Grammys serves up something a little different — and viewers never quite know what to expect. That’s often the beauty of the ceremony, which is always filled with highs and lows and tons of surprises.

Though past shows have gotten their share of criticism for feeling staid or out-of-touch with the state of Latin music, it largely felt like the Academy and the telecast organizers got it right in 2025. The ceremony fly by, with quick transitions, performances that never lingered too much, and solid hosting duties from Maluma and Roselyn Sanchez. Even the actual winners struck the right chord: Sure, here were some shocking moments that felt typically Latin Grammys, like when Alejandro Sanz bested Bad Bunny for Record of the Year. But there was plenty of love across the generations, with the most wins of the night going to Bad Bunny and Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, who really felt like they captured the zeitgeist this year.

Seeing Bad Bunny get recognized at the Latin Grammys was also meaningful since he hasn’t always gotten love. He gets nominated a lot, but doesn’t always win, so seeing him take home Album of the Year for the poignant and quietly powerful DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS felt like the right move. Here’s more of what worked, what didn’t, and what came out of left field at the Latin Grammys.

Best of the Night

Los Tigres Del Norte Stand Up for Latinos
Of course, Los Tigres del Norte were the ones to deliver a powerful political statement, defending Latinos in this country on the Latin Grammy stage. The Mexican music legends — who’d already won a pair of awards for their Lotería EP earlier in the night — performed in front of a screen flashing images of Latinos protesting for immigrant rights, immigrant-crossing signs, and clips of families celebrating and students graduating, — a vivid reminder of the deep impact immigrants have on this country. Hernán Hernández pulled out his signature guitar, adorned with the flags of every country of Latin America, as Jorge walked around the stage pointing into the crowd, which included Gloria Estefan, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, and Karol G, watching closely as they performed. “It always breaks your heart to leave your homeland / Because the tree no longer casts a very good shade,” Jorge sang. They were the night’s lone act to make a direct political statement — and it left quite an impression. More of this, please. —T.M.

Editor’s picks

The Duets Do It for Us
There have been a few times some of the duets at the Latin Grammys left us scratching our heads (we’re still thinking about Bon Jovi and Pitbull last year.) Luckily, most of the performances and onstage mash-ups were a pleasant surprise in 2025: Karol G and Marco Antonio Solis felt like a tasteful way to bring together generations of audiences, and Fuerza Regida with Grupo Frontera was a solid way of showing the many sides of musica mexicana. We were also huge fans of Carin Leon and Kacey Musgraves coming together for a cross-genre moment, and cheered on the energy when Gloria Estefan and Nathy Peluso sang together. —J.L.

Kakalo, DannyLux, and Ivan Cornejo Change the Game
Musica mexicana doesn’t always get the love it deserves on the telecast, but the show featured a solid moment honoring the rising generation of acts from the genre. Kakalo, DannyLux, and Ivan Cornejo each took the stage to show how they’re adding a new spin on things, performing their own tracks. Kakalo launched into “Tierra Trágame,” DannyLux showed his honeyed tone on “Sirena,” and Corenjo closed things out with a grounded performance of “Atención,” putting his vulnerability and melancholy sound on display. —J.L.

Missed the Mark

Pepe Aguilar Doesn’t Quite Nail It
For an awards show that largely got it right spotlighting the future of Latin music, Pepe Aguilar’s traditional charro, ranchera performance felt like a left-field choice, and not exactly a necessary one. After roughly two years of the Aguilars dominating tabloid chatter — from Ángela Aguilar and Christian Nodál’s strange relationship timeline to Pepe’s son Emiliano publicly calling out their estrangement time and again — Pepe’s appearance (with just one nomination, which he ultimately lost to Nodál) landed as a miss. The show would’ve been better served by pairing Aguilar with a younger artist helping evolve the very genre Aguilar is working to preserve. (But handing over the spotlight would’ve been smart for the Aguilar image, even.) —T.M.

How Many Voters Again?
We’re all for the Academy giving us glimpses into how their voting process works and what leads to the decisions of the night. But in nearly every category introduction speech, the hosts and presenters mentioned that “one million voters” had weighed in — to the point where the phrase felt like it lost all meaning by the end of the night. Guys, we get it; there are a lot of voters! —J.L.

We Need More Love For Alt Acts!
It was already a bummer that a new wave of Latin alternative artists, like Mexican trio Latin Mafia, Spanish singer-songwriter Judeline, and artist-producer Rusowsky, didn’t make it into the bigger categories, despite how boundary-pushing their releases were. Still, they were all up for Best Alternative Album and Best Alternative Song. Though zany Argentine duo CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso deserved plenty of wins, they snagged both categories, where it would have been nice to see a slightly different energy. Latin Mafia, Judeline, and Rusowsy later met up and took a few photos together, including a cheeky one with everyone flipping off the camera. Maybe this snub might lead to the Latin Mafia, Judeline, and Rusowsky collaboration that we need. —L.V.

OMG!

The Big Sanz Upset
When Alejandro Sanz apologized to Bad Bunny and Karol G for winning Record of the Year, it felt like a reminder that the Latin Grammys can be… kind of old-school. In a category stacked with two of Bad Bunny’s biggest songs, Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso’s “#Tetas” and “El Día del Amigo,” and even Liniker’s “Ao Te Lado,” his win suggested the Academy might still be playing it safe with what its older voting base knows best. Part of the problem may have been that multiple nominations in one category meant some of the votes were split, but Sanz’s Record of the Year win was still a shock. —T.M.

Paloma Morphy accepts the Best New Artist award onstage at Latin Grammys.

John Parra/Getty Images for The Latin Recording Academy

Paloma Morphy Is Our New Rising Queen
Paloma Morphy took home the Best New Artist award and we’re here for it. In the same vein as Latin Mafia and Nsqk, Paloma Morphy is reshaping the Latin alternative scene with her genre-bending sound. Earlier this week, the Mexico City native shared her reaction to being nominated for Best New Artist with Rolling Stone. “When I started making music, I quit my other job,” she said. “I was doubting if this was something for me. Life is giving me signs that I have made the right choice.” This win is making it clear that Morphy takeover is imminent. —L.V.

Karol Sounds Off
While accepting the award for Song of the Year, Karol G unexpectedly took a moment to address her naysayers. She specifically asked for her microphone not to be cut and then went off. The Colombian superstar then revealed a struggle that she was facing: “This happened during a strange time in my life and the only thing that was left from all of that for me was to go back to the root and the intention and return to the purpose of what I’m doing because I love it, because I like it, and because I was born for this.” —L.V.

Love For Liniker
The Brazilian artist was off to a good night with nods in major categories, like Album of the Year and Record of the Year. But it was especially nice to see that she didn’t get siloed off during the ceremony: Her performance toward the end, just after Elena Rose, felt like a big highlight that shared more of her music and her sound with wider audiences. It was especially poignant to see her represent Brazil and music in Portuguese, given how hard it is for Brazilian acts to break into the industry — and into the ceremony itself. —J.L.

Best Moments From Outkast, Salt-N-Pepa’s Rock Hall Of Fame Induction

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Hip-Hop royalty took center stage as Outkast and Salt-N-Pepa were officially inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame — a celebration of legacy, innovation, and cultural impact that spanned generations.

The groundbreaking duo Salt-N-Pepa, inducted by Missy Elliott, were honored for shattering barriers for women in hip-hop and bringing empowerment to the forefront of popular music.

Meanwhile, Outkast’s induction stood as a tribute to Southern creativity and fearless originality, with Childish Gambino, Big Boi, and J.I.D. leading the charge.

The ceremony was electric, featuring tributes across eras: JID and Big Boi set things off, followed by Doja Cat’s performance of the duo’s 2000 single “Ms. Jackson.”

Tyler, the Creator delivered “B.O.B,” Janelle Monáe took on “Hey Ya,” Sleepy Brown and Big Boi reunited for “The Way You Move,” and Killer Mike closed with “The Whole World.”

It was a night that underscored Hip-Hop’s evolution — and its rightful place in rock history. VIBE shares 10 memorable moments from the occasion that gave insight into the makings of two of the culture’s most legendary acts.

  • Salt-N-Pepa’s Influence On Missy Elliott

Missy Elliott paid heartfelt tribute to Salt-N-Pepa during their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, crediting the pioneering trio for paving the way for her own success.

“I watched these three ladies from high school. And the reason that you even know Missy Elliot name is because of Salt, Pepa, and Spinderella. They inspired me to become a MC. And see, when they came up in this game, it was more male rappers [than female rappers.]

“The female rappers had to step to the mic and show that they could go toe-to-toe with the guys, and Salt and Pepa and Spinderella did it effortlessly.”

Elliott added, “They made women like me feel heard and empowered.” Their fearless confidence and boundary-breaking lyrics continue to echo through her music today.

  • Salt-N-Pepa’s Ongoing Lawsuit Against Universal Music Group For Ownership Of Their Masters

    Salt-N-PepaSalt-N-Pepa

During their recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, Salt-N-Pepa used the spotlight to call out Universal Music Group for allegedly removing their catalog from streaming platforms amid their ongoing legal battle for ownership of their master recordings.

“We’re in a fight right now for our masters that rightfully belong to us,” group member Salt said. “After 40 years, as we celebrate this moment, fans can’t even stream our music. It’s been taken down from all streaming platforms because the industry still doesn’t want to play fair. Salt-N-Pepa have never been afraid of a fight. This is the Influence Award.

“We have to keep using our influence until the industry honors creativity the way the audience does with love, respect, and fairness. And that includes streaming platforms, too. Hip hop gave us a voice and we’ll keep using it.”

  • Salt-N-Pepa’s Mended Relationships With Spinderella And Hurby ” Luv Bug” Azor Reuniting

After years of personal and public ups and downs, legendary hip-hop trio Salt-N-Pepa have shown a powerful display of unity, reaffirming their bond with longtime DJ Spinderella and producer Hurby “Luv Bug” Azor.

The group, whose dynamic history includes both chart-topping success and highly publicized disputes, recently appeared to have mended their differences. During a heartfelt moment, Salt expressed deep gratitude and reconciliation.

“To Pep’ and Spin, I love you ladies. Being together again feels so good,” group member Salt said. “We made history. God bless you. Thank you, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Thank you, our super producer, Hurby. Thank you, Jesus. Keep pushing it.”

  • Pepa Mourning The Passing Of Her Mother

During an emotional moment, Pepa opened up about a profound personal loss, revealing that her mother had recently passed away.

The hip-hop icon shared heartfelt words of gratitude and reflection. “I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, so I understood and learned that to take the good with the bad. I just want to say a personal thing. I want to honor my mom that just passed away and she was my strength, my guidance.”

She continued to speak on her mother’s impact on her life and personal drive. “She taught me love, how to persevere and I just want to thank you, mom, for everything.”

Pepa’s touching tribute reminded fans of the deep family roots that have always grounded her journey.

  • Outkast’s Debut Album Left Childish Gambino In Awe

For Childish Gambino, Outkast’s music wasn’t just a soundtrack — it was a revelation. Growing up in Georgia, he found a reflection of his world and imagination within the duo’s experimental sound and unapologetic Southern flair.

“When I first played this album, I heard De La Soul, Pharcyde, Kilo Ali, Funkadelic, Live Color, Eddie Hazel, Prince. I heard all of that, but I also heard the kid I ride the bus with and the uncle that gives you $10 when he’s drunk. I heard the people around me. It was a groundbreaking mix. It showed me that being an artist really means you just need to be an observer.”

For Gambino, Outkast’s fearless fusion of styles and storytelling not only expanded his creative horizons but also inspired him to embrace authenticity as the core of his artistry.

  • Outkast’s Brotherly Bond Inspired Childish Gambino To Create ‘Atlanta’ With His Brother

    Childish GambinoChildish Gambino

Before Atlanta became a cultural phenomenon, its roots were planted in the creative spark Donald Glover — a.k.a. Childish Gambino — felt from Outkast’s genre-defying artistry.

The duo’s balance of contrasting styles and shared purpose inspired Glover to team up with his brother, Stephen Glover, to create a show that captured the surreal rhythm of Black life in the South.

Reflecting on that influence, Glover shared, “To Big Boi and Andre, I want to personally personally thank you. Around the time Speakerboxxx/[The] Love Below came out, I wrote a letter from college to my brother and I said I had a dream that we wrote a show together.

“Thank you for showing me that brothers may not always see eye to eye in their philosophies or styles, but they need each other in a world that would rather see them both fail.

Together you proved that art can argue and harmonize all at once in an industry designed to capitalize on our fight and gave me great solace. Your influence echoes in everything and every artist I love.”

  • Goodie Mob’s Mentorship Of Outkast

When Outkast took the stage to accept their long-awaited induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they didn’t stand alone.

In true Southern tradition, André 3000 and Big Boi called up members of the legendary Dungeon Family — the collective that nurtured their rise and reshaped Atlanta’s musical landscape.

Surrounded by friends and collaborators, André reflected on their deep-rooted bond, saying, “My Goodie Mob brothers. Goodie Mob influenced us so hard. They sharpened us. We were the younger brothers. There was so many conversations we had. They kept us on the right track.”

The reclusive lyricist further expounded on the sentiment, emphasizing the power of community over celebrity. “I think it’s important that all these people [are] on stage the reason why it was important what’s up.

“The reason why it’s important because a lot of times when bands or individuals get up here and it’s about the musicians and and we talk about the music a lot, but a lot of times it’s it’s a lot more than just the notes or the instruments that you’re playing. It’s everybody that’s around you. It’s the uh the family. And this is my family.”

  • The Wade Family’s Role In Their Success

    OutkastOutkast

The legacy of the Dungeon Family extends far beyond music — it’s also a story of sacrifice, community, and family.

During a heartfelt tribute, members reflected on the crucial role played by late producer and Dungeon Family founder Rico Wade’s mother, Beatrice Wade, whose home became the birthplace of Southern hip-hop innovation.

“Miss Beatrice Wade, they had to sacrifice their home for us to make music. This was the place called The Dungeon where we all went in a basement making music and doing nefarious things as well, but these people [children]. Keisha and Kita had to go to school the next morning and we’re bumping til [around] 6:00 in the morning.

“Smoking weed so it’s coming through the vents and they have to go to school the next day. They 12 [or] 15 [years-old]. So all the sacrifices that go into a group, it’s not just the actual band. Like it’s the wives, it’s the girlfriends, it’s the girl you broke up with that that pissed you off that made you write a song. All of that is important.”

  • Outkast’s Atlanta Hip-Hop Heroes

    OutkastOutkast

Outkast often credits the underground and unsung artists of Atlanta for shaping their sound and work ethic.

Reflecting on their early influences, they recalled, “We got Kilo, we got Raheem the Dream, these were our heroes. We were watching dancers in Atlanta; dance groups were our heroes growing up.

“The first time I actually even went to a studio was a session with Rico [Wade] for East Point Chain Gang. [The] first time I ever seen a real studio. So, these things were important to see how to be professional in the studio. I mean, we ain’t had no money with no real studio, but it did what it had to do.”

  • Outkast’s Respect For East Coast Hip-Hop

Outkast has always credited their peers as both challengers and sources of inspiration, fueling their creativity and pushing them to innovate.

Reflecting on the impact of other artists, they explained, “A lot of people they say it’s about me or I did this, but it’s has a lot to do with the bands that were out at the same time that would influence us. All the rappers that were out, from Busta Rhymes to to Missy to Nas to Wu-Tang.”

By observing and learning from these contemporaries, Outkast honed their unique sound, blending Southern flair with broad hip-hop influences, proving that artistic growth often thrives through community and competition.

Nine best moments 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony

The Los Angeles Dodgers weren’t the only winners in town this week. Returning to City of Angels for the first time since 2022, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ushered in a new class of inductees during its 40th annual induction ceremony Saturday night (Nov. 8).

“Welcome to the second-best thing to happen to Los Angeles in the past week,” said John Sykes, chairman of the R&R Hall of Fame, welcoming the audience at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is officially middle aged and to celebrate the 40th induction ceremony, a 10-minute sizzle reel spanning the four decades played prior to the official start of the proceedings, which, thanks to a more streamlined process when honoring the musical excellence and non-performer categories, came in at a relatively brisk four-and-a-half hours.

Beamed live on Disney +, the Rock Hall honored Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden and The White Stripes in the performer category, Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon for musical influence; Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye for musical excellence, and longtime Warner Records executive Lenny Waronker with the Ahmet Ertegun Award (named after the Atlantic Records co-founder). A primetime trimmed- down special will air on ABC on Jan. 1, 2026.

Many of the 2025 honorees were not in attendance: Of course, Zevon, Cocker, Hopkins and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell were inducted posthumously, and legendary Wrecking Crew bassist Kaye declined in advance to attend. Though the White Stripes’ Jack White referenced her and even dedicated part of his speech to her, his former bandmate, Meg White, did not attend. At 84, Checker was still doing what he does best and passed up his induction to keep a regularly scheduled paying gig, though he delivered his acceptance speech from the show before going into a shortened version of his biggest hit, “The Twist.” After initially hoping to attend and even reunite with his band Bad Company, lead singer Paul Rodgers pulled out for health reasons.

But there was still a dazzling amount of star power in the room from the honorees who were present and the nearly 40 artists who helped induct them.

Below are nine highlights from the evening.

  • Take Us Higher

The evening got off to an electrifying start with a salute not to a current inductee but to 1993 honoree Sly Stone, who died in June. Launching with the undeniable bass-heavy thump of 1967’s “Dance to the Music” courtesy of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea and Stevie Wonder on vocals, the band, which also included Beck, Questlove and Leon Thomas III, then flowed into “Everyday People” with Maxwell, who also sang “Thank you (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin),” before Jennifer Hudson coming out for “Higher,” hitting ear-shattering high notes.  It set the bar almost impossibly high for any performance coming afterwards.

After an exhilarating performance of their ‘80s and ‘90s hits “Let’s Talk About Sex,” “Whatta Man” (joined by En Vogue”) and “Push It,” during the trio’s acceptance speech, Salt-N-Pepa’s Cheryl “Salt” James brought it back into the present by bringing up the group’s lawsuit, filed in May,  against Universal Music Group to regain control of their masters, alleging that the record company has not honored Salt N’ Pepa’s copyright clawback rights and has punished them by taking their music off streaming. “We’re in a fight for our masters that rightfully belong to us…After 40 years, our streaming music has been taking down from all streaming platforms because the industry doesn’t want to play fair,” she said, as the crowd cheered in support, before adding, “Salt-N- Pepa has never been afraid of a fight.”

Olivia Rodrigo may only be 22, but she’s proved an old soul when it comes to her love for music made before she was born. In her third time paying tribute to an inducted artist following Carly Simon in 2022 and Sheryl Crow in 2023, she returned this year to honor the White Stripes. In a video, she declared the duo’s “Seven Nation Army” “iconic,” before taking the stage to perform a lovely, harmony-filled version of the pair’s 2001 tune, “I Think We’re Gonna Be Friends” with Feist, trading verses and then singing beautifully together. Once she returned to her seat, she could be seen singing along to almost every performance.

Outkast’s Big Boi and Andre 3000 shared the stage for their acceptance speech, but, unfortunately, no musical reunion was forthcoming as only Big Boi participated in the musical tribute. But it was gloriously high-octane, nonetheless. Backed by a 13-piece band including a vibrant horn section, Big Boi and guests raised the roof as they ran through a medley of Outkast’s greatest hits, starting with “ATLiens,” where Big Boi was joined by J.I.D. A graceful Doja Cat joined for “Ms. Jackson before Tyler, The Creator bounced around the stage delivering a ferocious “Bombs Over Baghdad.” Janelle Monae turned the segment into a full-on dance party with “Hey Ya,” accompanying herself on an acoustic guitar, before Sleepy Brown joined for a group sing-along for “I Love the Way You Move” that had the crowd on its feet.

Sly Stone wasn’t the only past honoree given his own segment: Elton John took to the stage for a tender tribute to Brian Wilson, who was inducted in 1988 with his band, The Beach Boys, and who died in June two days after Stone. He recalled meeting Wilson in 1970 when he and songwriting partner Bernie Taupin went to his house. “We were scared sh-tless,” John said. “He was my idol. He influenced me more than anyone else when it came to writing songs on the piano. Throughout my career and my life, we became friends, we sang on each other’s records, we loved each other, and I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather pay tribute to.” Backed by Benmont Tench and Don Was, John then played a delicate, languid version of Wilson’s finest tune, Pet Sounds’ “God Only Knows.”

After being inducted by Chappell Roan, Cyndi Lauper provided the evening’s most emotional moment during the beginning of her performance. Singing “True Colors,” with the stage bathed in rainbow colors, she stopped the song and simply held her fist in the air in silence for at least 30 seconds in solidarity with the gay community. It as a stirring, heartfelt moment, before she asked everyone to turn on the lights on their phone, adding “there’s a community of light. Don’t forget that if it gets really dark,” before segueing into “Time After Time” with British singer RAYE. Her performance felt the loosest and the most relaxed of the night as she was joined by Avril Lavigne and then Salt-N-Pepa for a jubilant “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” In her acceptance speech, she thanked those who came before her. “I know that I stand on the shoulders of the women in the industry that came before me and my shoulders are broad enough to have the women that come after me to stand on mine,” she said, adding, “the little kid in me still believes that rock and roll can save the world.”

The presence of the artists inducted posthumously loomed large throughout the night, as David Letterman gave a moving tribute to his friend Warren Zevon and brought with him the blue electric guitar that Zevon gave to him 22 years ago after Zevon’s last appearance on Late Night with David Letterman. Zevon, who knew he was dying of lung cancer, told Letterman, “Take care of this for me,” Letterman recounted, before adding, “By god, tonight, it’s going back to work.” And sure enough it did, with The Killers’ Dave Keuning playing it on a solid version of “Lawyers, Guns and Money.” Jim Carrey, who was close to Cornell and eloquently described his intense affection for the band’s music during his induction of Soundgarden, even talked about not being able to look Cornell directly in his piercing blue eyes. Similarly, the members of Soundgarden sent their love to Cornell, with original bassist Hiro Yamamoto saying, “Chris Cornell, we are so missing you tonight on this stage.” Drummer Matt Cameron accepted the award “on behalf of the fans of our music and also the misfits, the loners and the interlopers who found comfort and solace in the layers and music of my hero and bandmate, Chris Cornell.” Guitarist Kim Thayil gave Cornell credit for his adventurous spirit. “If one of us ever hesitated sharing an idea, Chris would be the first to say, ‘Let’s just try it out.’ I miss him. I love him.” Bryan Adams inducted Joe Cocker with great fondness, recalled drinking “Joe Colas,” with him, a potent mixture of Coca Cola and rum that would quickly end any recording session.

The members of Soundgarden were then joined by The Pretty Reckless’s Taylor Momsen, who has performed with the band a number of times over the last six or so years, for a howling, bone-rattling version of “Rusty Cage,” before Brandi Carlile joined for a driving take on their signature hit, “Black Hole Sun.” Like Momsen, Carlile has played with the band several times, including at a Cornell tribute concert in 2019. It wasn’t hard to imagine how great it would be to see the two women trade off lead vocals at a full Soundgarden show.

Even though Cocker was obviously not in attendance, there was never really any doubt that the evening would conclude with his induction if, for no other reason than to be able to close the night with “With a Little Help from My Friends,” the Beatles’ tune he made famous in 1969. Before the finale though, the Tedeschi Trucks Band were joined by Nathaniel Rateliff and Teddy Swims for rollicking, burly versions of “The Letter” and “Feelin’ Alright.” Then, Lauper, Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson and Bryan Adams (the latter two had taken part in the Bad Company tribute earlier in the evening), returned for the finale, which closed the evening on just the right note.

Best Unseen Moments From DWTS Halloween Night 2025

by jummy84 October 30, 2025

The Hollywood Reporter pulls the curtain back one some of the unseen moments that broadcast cameras didn’t catch at Television City Studios during Tuesday night’s show.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Halloween Night.

Dancing With the Stars celebrated its long-running Halloween Night during Tuesday’s taping, where one couple was eliminated, one duo was crowned the 2025 “Dance Monster-thon” winner and another near-perfect score was dished out.

Cameras were there to catch each dance, judges’ comments and scores during the show as it aired on ABC and streamed on Disney+, but The Hollywood Reporter was inside Television City Studios to capture all the behind-the-scenes moments that you may have missed during Dancing With the Stars’ season 34 Halloween Night.

  • ‘DWTS’ Hype Man Chuck Dukas Kept the Audience Engaged

After being seated in the lead-up to the live show, the audience was introduced to Chuck, who later revealed his full name, Chuck Dukas. Ahead of the show and during each commercial break, Chuck broke down the ins and outs of what to expect from a DWTS taping, keeping everyone engaged and eager to win special giveaways.

He labeled each side of the set as the right and left sides of the room, encouraging opposing zones to be the loudest, proudest set of audience members in the studio. Those who impressed Chuck won a merch shirt, but the real treat of the night was his infectious, lively energy that most certainly kept the audience intrigued throughout the two-hour taping.

  • Audience Rules for When Cameras Are Up

Behind-the-scenes at Halloween Night on 'Dancing With the Stars' season 34Behind-the-scenes at Halloween Night on 'Dancing With the Stars' season 34

“Rules” is a strict term, but yes, there’s a few things the DWTS crew asks of its audience members during the live show. First, as each segment of the episode returns from commercial break, spectators seated in the lower-level seats are asked to stand up and applaud. The audience is encouraged to clap and cheer as loudly as they can during each lead-in, and they’re even asked to stand on their feet and clap for roughly three minutes at the very beginning of each episode.

Something that cameras have caught over the years is not a phone in sight in the crowd — and THR can confirm, that’s intentional. Guests are instructed not to be on their cellular devices while cameras are up, but that rule fizzles out when the show cuts to commercial.

  • Production Moves Swiftly In-Between Dances to Keep the Show Moving Smoothly

Behind-the-scenes at Halloween Night on 'Dancing With the Stars' season 34Behind-the-scenes at Halloween Night on 'Dancing With the Stars' season 34

The DWTS cast is always in the spotlight, but the true unsung heroes of the franchise are those who work behind the camera. The swiftness at which each production member working on the behind-the-scenes elements of the show moved should be studied. Whether it was transporting an uncountable amount of faux corn fields onto the stage for Andy Richter’s Paso Doble or literally dumping dirt onto Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy before their near-perfect Tango, the crew did it all on Halloween Night, executing their tasks in just enough time to make sure the ballroom looked TV perfect by the time commercial break ended.

  • The Crowd Was Packed With Alix Earle Fans

Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy on 'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween NightAlix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy on 'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween Night

With each commercial break came Chuck, ready to work the crowd and keep onlookers on the edge of their seats. The hype man took time to speak with plenty audience members, and there was a common theme amongst most who got a chance to get on the mic: they were fans of Alix Earle.

At one point, a woman speaking with Chuck explained that she was a mom from Utah, which led some to believe she might have been a fan of one of the Mormon Wives stars. But no — she was there cheering on Alix. During another moment, Chuck asked another fan who they were rooting for, to which they replied, “Alix Earle!” as she walked by, to which she jumped up and down after the viewer expressed their support.

  • Charli D’Amelio, Xochitl Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Cast Round Out a Star-Studded Crowd

The DWTS cameras always make sure to showcase the A-list talent in the ballroom, but it’s a different feeling when you’re in-studio and you look over to see the season 32 winner of the show seated a few chairs away from you. Most of the celebrities in the audience weren’t seated at the same time as the rest of the guests, and instead got settled in their chairs right before showtime.

On the left-hand side, beside the judges’ panel were most of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast, while on the right side sat season 31 winner Charli D’Amelio alongside a mini High School Musical reunion with Ashley Tisdale and Kenny Ortega. Xochitl Gomez was also sitting on the opposite side of the room, across from the Mormon Wives.

  • Emma Slater Does Yell During Her Dances

Emma Slate and Andy Richter on 'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween NightEmma Slate and Andy Richter on 'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween Night

DWTS fans have long questioned whether Emma Slater is yelling at her partners during her performances on the show. Sometimes, it appears she’s talking mid-performance, and THR can confirm she is communicating something mid-dance. It’s likely a tactic for Emma to count her partners through or give choreography signals during each dance, but fans were right: Emma certainly does audibly speak throughout each dance.

  • The Ballroom Was on Their Feet for Elaine Hendrix

'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween Night'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween Night

Elaine Hendrix suffered an injury during rehearsal that sent her to the hospital on Tuesday, preventing her from being present at Halloween Night. The judges ultimately scored her based on footage of her Argentine Tango from rehearsals. After the number was shown, the audience rose to their feet and gave Elaine a standing ovation.

It was a devastating moment when the hosts revealed that The Parent Trap actress wasn’t in the ballroom, and it was heartbreaking to also see Alan Bersten solo for the night, with his spirits clearly down. However, that did not slow down the support the crowd showed for Elaine and sent her on her way for a hopefully speedy recovery.

  • One Audience Member Skipped Class to Attend the Show

Making his rounds with the audience, Chuck came across one DWTS audience member who revealed they skipped class to attend the live show. It was a hilarious moment in the studio that Chuck went on to reference throughout the night jokingly, and he even suggested that when the cameras returned from commercial break, they be centered in on the mystery school-skipper.

  • Jen Affleck’s Crew Goes Crazy!

Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik on 'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween NightJen Affleck and Jan Ravnik on 'Dancing With the Stars' Halloween Night

There was no mistaking Jen Affleck’s supporters in the crowd, who were notably dressed for the Halloween Night occasion. Jen’s husband, Zac Affleck, and the rest of her hype squad wore blonde wigs, white dresses and ice blue trench coats, matching that of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ first season trailer. It was a homage to the reality series that landed Jen a spot on DWTS, and there’s no denying the audible encouragement her friends and family offered her throughout the night.

The fake Mormon Wives cast cheered each time Jen and her dance partner, Jan Ravnik, entered the stage, most notably when they arrived for the dance marathon. Their applause was met by Jen, who encouraged them to keep cheering, which trickled over to the rest of the right side of the crowd. Jen Affleck’s crew certainly brought the energy that translated into quite a lively “Dance Monster-thon.”

  • The Dance Marathon Was Electric — and the Audience Booed as Couples Were Eliminated

'Dancing With the Stars' season 34 dance marathon'Dancing With the Stars' season 34 dance marathon

The dance marathon was an exhilarating experience to witness live. The television stream could cut to different couples at different moments in their routines, but in-the-flesh, it was hard to keep eyes on all the various duos dancing on the ballroom floor at the same time. But that’s not to say it wasn’t exceptionally entertaining. At one point, you could look up and see Alix swinging upside down from Val’s shoulders, cut just a few seconds later to Daniella Karagach being catapulted into the air by Dylan Efron.

The final few minutes when the remaining couples — Alix and Val; Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas; Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa; and Robert Irwin and Witney Carson — were even more intense. As the contestants broke out of their limited boxes after the first half of the dance marathon, cameras did, in fact, miss Jordan tumbling across the ballroom floor. The telecast chose to highlight Dylan and Daniella’s elimination from the marathon, but the audience certainly felt the impact of her incredible stunt.

Plus, the audience booed when couples were kicked out of the dance marathon. There wasn’t one couple in particular that the crowd had an affinity toward, and despite online uproar over Whitney and Mark winning the special segment, guests didn’t indicate that they disagreed with the judge’s decision.

  • Two Guests Won VIP Tickets to the ‘DWTS’ Season 34 Finale

As Halloween Night came to an end, Chuck teased that he had a big surprise for the most energetic fan in the audience. He later revealed that the supporter would secure two VIP tickets to the season 34 finale, which went to a woman seated in the balcony.

  • The Audience Sang “Happy Birthday” to Andy Richter

Finally, at the very end of the night, following Jen and Jan’s elimination, Andy Richter’s fans sang “Happy Birthday” to commemorate his 59th birthday. It was a sweet moment that further exemplified how avid his fanbase — deemed the “Fandy’s” — truly is.

The Best Moments From ONE Musicfest 2025

by jummy84 October 29, 2025

Celebrating its 16th year of shaping sound and culture, ONE Musicfest 2025, presented by P&G, once again proved why it stands as the ultimate celebration of Atlanta’s musical legacy and global impact on Hip-Hop.

Launched in 2010 and founded by veteran event producer Jason “J” Carter, ONE Musicfest has evolved into a cultural institution that honors the city’s rhythm, hospitality, and creativity.

Taking place at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Ga. on Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26, this milestone year drew over 100,000 attendees, carrying on ONE Musicfest’s longstanding tradition of gathering the hottest artists in Atlanta and across the nation for a weekend filled with live performances and surprise guest appearances.

This year’s lineup overflowed with star power — Usher, Future, Mary J. Blige, Clipse, Ludacris, Jeezy, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, The Roots, Leon Thomas, Trick Daddy, Jazmine Sullivan, Wale, Ari Lennox, Project Pat, Chief Keef, Jagged Edge, and more — commanding multiple stages and celebrating the city’s undeniable influence.

Beyond the music, festivalgoers explored the OMF Food Truck Village, an arts and crafts Merch Village, an interactive Visual Artist Village, and vibrant activations by various sponsors — all testaments to the festivals focus on positively contributing to Atlanta’s local economy and ever-evolving creative traditions.

VIBE compiled snapshots of the best and most memorable moments from ONE Musicfest 2025 that captured the essence of the annual celebration.
