Former EXO Member Kris Wu Killed in Prison?

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

***Trigger Warning***

Netizens have been discussing about former EXO member Kris Wu’s current situation. Rumours began on social media about Kris’ possible demise which was fuelled by netizens discussing about his time in prison. For those unware, Kris is currently serving a 13-year prison sentence for sexual assault.

Now rumours began doing rounds on social media that the former K-Pop idol has passed away. The reports began circulating amongst media portals and spread rapidly amidst Chinese social media users. One fan, who claimed to his prison mate, stated that the guards were quietly discussing about his death. He claimed that he heard Kris being gang-r*ped by local prison gang members. He was apparently also murdered as he couldn’t meet their demands. Another social media post stated that Kris passed away after going through a long hunger strike.

Moreover, news spread like wildfire when a doctored photo also made the rounds on Weibo, a social media application. It clearly showed a man resembling Wu in a prison uniform. The man was seemingly undergoing interrogation. It was later revealed to be a digitally manipulated image. Netizens realised that the image only had Wu’s face edited in it.

Netizens have dealt with rumours about Kris’ death time and again. But no official confirmation has ever been made. However, this time, the Chinese police have also confirmed the rumours to be untrue and dismissed them as “false information.”

Kris Wu

Kris Wu debuted as an EXO member in 2012. He left the popular group in 2014 and sued the agency to discharge him of his exclusive contract. After that, he went back to China to pursue a career of singing and acting there. In China, he continued work as Wu Yifan. However, he was soon convicted of sexual assault in 2021. The case also involved multiple minors.

Getting Killed By AI – Stereogum

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

When I started this music publication almost 24 years ago the number one was song was “How You Remind Me” (it’s an 8) and, much like Nickelback, stereogum.com is somehow still around. But things are gonna look different and work better starting today.

In 2020, upon taking back control of this site from the company that acquired it from another company, I did all things you’re supposed to do to diversify revenue, which had come 100% from advertising: writing a newsletter, building a merch shop, adding affiliate links, partnering on live events, and most importantly launching a paid subscription program. Things were looking great, with Stereogum becoming the most popular standalone music website in America according to Comscore. Traffic and revenue increased every year.

We would not be in business without our community of paying members (thank you!) but a lot has changed in five years, and some new obstacles have made the outlook for web publishers particularly dire. Advertising still accounts for the vast majority of Stereogum’s revenue (hit us up if you would like to advertise!) but starting this year the so-called “media traffic apocalypse” caused by Google’s pivot to AI search has cut our ad revenue by 70%. Prior to that, Facebook and X’s deprioritization of links hurt too, but I can’t downplay the brutal impact of AI Overview.

We don’t want to rely on these AI-riddled platforms for referral traffic, and fortunately we still have millions of monthly readers who visit directly. But we need more of you to pay to sustain this operation. Today’s relaunch was done with that as its goal. Before I tell you about the new user experience, here are some of our wins since relaunching as an independent publication:

  • As mentioned, we hit new a traffic record every year since 2020.
  • We introduced nearly 200 new voices to the site, most of whom had never written for us before. We pay all freelancers within one week of receiving their invoice. No one is allowed to contribute to Stereogum for free.
  • For the first time we licensed Stereogum IP for a streaming pilot currently in development with a well-known production company. (This doesn’t mean it’ll get picked up, but heyyy.)
  • We produced or partnered on new events in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Austin, and other cities.
  • We nabbed a key endorsement from Linkin Park.

The new website you’re looking at is powered by Lede, Alley’s publishing platform behind thriving reader-funded sites like Defector, Racket, and Racquet. Lede offers the kind of all-in-one toolset that we wanted for our last relaunch but didn’t exist yet. We’d been struggling with an archaic, piecemeal tech solution that had been the bane of my existence. Now we are ready for a big paid membership drive.

Go ahead and subscribe right now! It’s much easier than before, since we are no longer using multiple software programs that didn’t always work nicely together. Unfortunately there are many of you whose credit cards were not saved in Stripe when we moved to this new system. So if you were already a subscriber, make sure your payment details migrated. If you already paid for an annual subscription within the past year, the system will recognize that and you won’t be charged double. (Related: if you received an email from us within the past day with the subject “Thanks for signing up, Jane!” please ignore it. I forgot to change a default in our new email provider when we imported everyone.)

Stereogum Membership will get you an invite to the world’s best music Discord, where everyone is very kind and funny. Gumcord users share music recommendations and industry intel, meet up at concerts, and play Music League. They post only the most esoteric Autechre memes and, on Fridays, photos of their pets.

You’ll also get access to members-only Stereogum articles as a paid subscriber, and going forward more of our content will be exclusive for these readers. Along with the popular series The Alternative Number Ones, our Album Of The Week will now be members-only, as will our monthly genre columns for pop, metal, jazz, rap, and electronic music. One programming change: While The Number Ones will remain free for all readers on Mondays, it will now alternate weeks with The Alternative Number Ones column on Wednesdays. We are doing this so we don’t too quickly reach the present day and the Shinedown era, respectively, and because our small staff is currently overloaded.

Subscribers also get access to the Members Only playlist, an expanded version of our Favorite New Music playlist that lives on Spotify and Apple Music. We listen to hundreds of new songs every week and put the best ones there.

And subscribers will be able to comment on our articles. Commenting privileges are now for paying readers only. With Lede’s help we went to great lengths to not only reformat 20+ years of articles, but imported your ancient comments about Passion Pit. Paywalled commenting was overdue — it will prevent spambots and jerks from ruining conversations and save me time attempting to moderate them. The commenting software is different now, and will work better.

The VIP tier is the same as the Member tier, except it also removes all ads from the site. This is the reading experience you want imo! If you were previously a Member, today is a great day to upgrade to VIP: That is now a totally seamless process.

The monthly Member tier and VIP tier prices are now $1 more than they were when we introduced them five years ago. The cost for running this site and for paying its contributors has gone up since 2020 — we actually increased our rates for all freelance submissions early this year — and $6/$11 per month is more in line with the cost of membership on sites/newsletters/podcasts that offer a lot less for your money. We published over 120 longform artist interviews last year, for example. This year we interviewed everyone from Agriculture to Raekwon to Lady Gaga.

We are also adding a third tier for big spenders. It’s called All Access and it costs $99/month. We were advised to have an expensive tier in case any of you are rich admirers who want to give your money away, shorties support independent music journalism. You can see the perks for that here.

On all tiers, you’ll get a discount if you sign up for annual membership instead of monthly. There’s also now a tip jar linked in the main menu that you can click anytime you’re feeling generous. And we now finally offer gift subscriptions, which many of you asked for.

If you already spent all your money on 34 The Life Of A Showgirl variants, you will still be able to access this site. After a certain number of articles, however, you’ll be asked to register with an email address and, eventually, to subscribe to lift the paywall.

Your money enables us to pay the writers, photographers, videographers, and designers who produce work for Stereogum. We have other expenses too. Sometimes we are hit with SLAPP lawsuits or threats over copyrighted images our old sister site Videogum (R.I.P.) posted 15 years ago. Sometimes scammers test stolen credit cards on our merch site and then we have to deal with penalty fees for chargebacks.

Since it is 2025 we do a lot more than publish written features. We are producing more videos these days and hope to do more and bigger live events. I recently hired an on-camera correspondent to star in vertical videos and get us more coverage on TMZ. Making social videos cost money, but increasingly it’s the only way to get access to artists outside of Cameo.

Our mission has always been to discuss all kinds of new and old music in a knowledgable and irreverent voice. With a very small staff, we publish 365 days a year, and we write whatever we want. Stereogum receives thousands of unsolicited music pitches a week, so I cannot reply to them all, but mostly we spend our days championing emerging artists no one has heard of yet. I am frequently told about artists getting signed because we covered them here. If we write about established pop stars, it’s because we want to (no major labels advertise on Stereogum). We have never accepted money to write about an artist.

We don’t chase algorithms and our writers don’t even have access to traffic reporting. We don’t advertise Stereogum and we don’t buy followers. We don’t do random product recommendations.

Stereogum does not use generative AI. But these days we compete for readership with AI-generated articles while our content gets scraped by LLMs. It sucks, but we think there is still a future for journalism made by human music nerds.

I tried to make the new site look similar to the last iteration so as not to hit you with too much change at once. But now all the bugs are gone and it loads faster. If you ever emailed Stereogum about a technical problem with the website, you got a response from me, usually within an hour, and hopefully I’ll get fewer of those emails now. The navigation is better and you won’t have to log in over and over or deal with the CAPTCHA we had to deter spambots. A few modules (like Heavy Rotation and The Number Ones year pulldowns) had to be discontinued for the new platform, but there’s also added functionality like a dark mode option.

I hope you like the new user experience and choose to support us. I’ll be in the comments answering questions!

Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez Killed At Wrong Address

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

A routine cleaning job in Whitestown, Indiana, turned into a nightmare Wednesday morning. 32-year-old Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez was fatally shot after her team reportedly went to the wrong address. And, what should have been just another workday for the Indianapolis mom ended in tragedy. Now, her husband and four children are left devastated, while the community lives in shock.

Maria’s Husband Recalls Horror Of Fatal Shooting

According to reports, police responded to a 911 call just before 7 a.m. and found Maria Florinda Rios Perez de Velasquez dead. She was reportedly on the “front porch of the residence” with a gunshot wound to the head. Maria was immediately pronounced dead, leaving her husband Mauricio Velasquez and their four children, including an 11-month-old, reeling in shock. Mauricio told WRTV he was with his wife when the shooting happened and described the horrifying scene.

“I never thought it was a shot, but I realized when my wife took two steps back, she looked like she’d been hit in the head,” he said through tears. “She fell into my arms, and I saw the blood. It went everywhere.”

The family had been just been cleaning homes together for seven months. And now, they are left grappling with a tragic loss that feels unimaginable.

Shooter Inside Home, Investigation Ongoing

Police confirmed the shot was fired from inside the house by one of the residents, though they have not released the shooter’s identity, citing the “complex, delicate, and evolving” nature of the case. Detectives continue to investigate, trying to determine exactly what happened and what charges may apply. The department has also publicly denied false social media rumors that a police officer lived at the home, calling the misinformation “false and misleading.”

Prosecutors Review Case As Maria’s Family Seeks Justice

The case has been formally submitted to the Boone County Prosecutor’s Office. Kent Eastwood, the prosecutor, tells ABC News that his office hopes to make a charging decision within the next couple of weeks. Mauricio, still grieving, pleaded for justice: “What I need now is for there to be justice, because he took her life, in that sense. I don’t believe that’s human.” Meanwhile, the community is left shaken by a fatal mix-up that turned a simple morning job into a devastating tragedy.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Review- Promising Concept Killed By Potboiler Writing

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Cinema’s most celebrated career, kickstarted in the early 1990s with a spate of romantic thrillers that featured an anti-hero. Shah Rukh Khan made a habit of playing obsessive lovers who would often find their grey shades dominating over their good deeds. SRK’s debut film was called Deewana (1992), and while Harshvardhan Rane’s latest release, titled Ek Deewane Ki DEEWAANIYAT, may seem like a throwback to that film, its subject finds itself more in line with another SRK thriller, with similar themes, Anjaam (1994). In Anjaam, SRK played a rich and influential man obsessed with winning over the affections of Shivani (Madhuri Dixit). Director Milap Milan Zaveri’s 2025 release Ek Deewane Ki DEEWAANIYAT isn’t a direct inspiration of Anjaam, but both films feature an influential man becoming obsessed with marrying a beautiful girl. It’s a concept that’s proven its value in celluloid over the years, we’ve even seen Dhanush’s Raanjhanaa, Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal bring success to these similarly skewered characters. But with Ek Deewane Ki DEEWAANIYAT, things snowball into something of an absurd adventure rather than the usual morally ambiguous saga that such films take the viewer on.

The story of Ek Deewane Ki DEEWAANIYAT begins with Vikramaditya Bhosle (Harshvardhan Rane) who’s a young politician on the verge of winning the upcoming elections in Maharashtra. The ‘entire political world’ is just waiting for the current CM to take a hike and surrender the throne to the intense, Christian Grey-type persona of Vikram. But just as the political power play is about to come to fruition, thanks to the many years of effort and patience of Vikramaditya’s father (Sachin Khedekar), Adaa (Sonam Bajwa) enters the scene with pomp and glamour. She’s the female superstar that every man wants to ogle at. That group also includes Vikramaditya, who rushes in to rescue her from the paparazzi. Needless to say, in another romantic movie, this would be enough for the girl to fall for the dashing guy. But here, Adaa just walks away from the chivalry. Vikram though, finds himself smitten with Adaa and he decides to pursue her, even when she’s not interested. After a few attempts to be friendly, he just lays out his love in front of her, in a series of obsessive encounters and she finds his overbearing affection, creepy. But Vikram isn’t one to pay heed the concept of consent and he declares that Adaa will be his lawfully wedded wife within the next month, and proceeds to book banquet halls at every major 5 star hotel in Mumbai, giving his uninterested bride-to-be some motivation. She doesn’t like it though, and throws him and his gift hampers out of the house.

If you’ve seen SRK’s Anjaam, Darr, Deewana, Baazigar, you might think you know where this story is going. But you don’t. Unlike those stories, the Deewaniyat in this film takes an absurd turn. After failing to dissuade Vikram, Adaa gives a fiery monologue on women’s empowerment and consent. She musters up resolve to stand up and fight. She decides to shove the chauvinism with courage. So she shows up at Vikram’s political rally and she offers her body to any man who will help her get rid of Vikram. Feminism dies a swift but jarring death.

There’s novelty to the idea of a woman, taking the fight to a chauvinistic man. The concept is exciting. Imagine a woman doesn’t get intimidated by a man flexing his political might. Instead, she throws him a curve ball by going on a rampage of her own unhinged machinations. But the way Adaa does things in Ek Deewane Ki DEEWAANIYAT, doesn’t fit right within the context of women rights or empowerment. Why does the central theme of this film become about random, unknown men, drawing inspiration to be knights in shining armour to eventually sleep with the heroine? It’s problematic to say the least. But that’s not the most ‘difficult-to-swallow’ pill. Adaa’s family, her father (Anant Mahadevan) and her mother and younger sister, have unwarranted knee-jerk reactions to difficult situations in their own lives and they put all the blame on Vikram, when he’s just trying to help them and be a regular obsessive, stalker lover. He’s not the one creating trouble for Adaa’s family, but she and her family think otherwise.

What you can’t fault in Ek Deewane Ki DEEWAANIYAT is Harshvardhan Rane’s character and his performance. He starts off as a likeable guy, showcases more than 50 shades of grey during his stalking phase, only to eventually have a superb, guilt-driven monologue. Harshvardhan’s performance and his character deliver an intense pay-off for the viewer. But every other character in this movie, feels like a half-baked attempt to service the deewaniyat of the lead deewana. There’s more physical chemistry between Vikram and his bodyguard bro Sawant (Shaad Randhawa) than between the hero-heroine combo of Vikram-Adaa and that’s a discussion waiting to explode on reddit.

Ek Deewane Ki DEEWAANIYAT, had the potential to be a real, edgy, romantic thriller. It’s billed like a musical too, but neither of the film’s 7 songs manage to create a fervour on screen. We’ve seen in recent months that music can be the proverbial X factor in the success of a romantic movie, the way it happened with Saiyaara. But on this occasion, the music just doesn’t click for the film. If you’re a Harshvardhan Rane fan, you’ll get some more, hunky goodness that had made Sanam Teri Kasam a cult classic. But everything else about this deewaniyat wali love story pales in comparison. It could’ve been memorable and cult-classic worthy. Pixel peepers will even appreciate a film poster that has credits like, ‘Director: Riteish Abraham’ and Producer: John Deshmukh’. But sadly, that creative spark is missing from the film’s heart and soul, its storytelling.

Geese Bring Getting Killed Tour to Chicago: Review + Photos

by jummy84 October 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Hype is a funny thing. When an artist (or any creative project) encounters a sudden rush of excitement, they can just as easily surf the wave of newfound attention with grace as they can succumb to the riptide of rising expectations, washing up on the shores of disappointment. Luckily, on a scale of midwestern tourist visiting the West Coast for the first time to Big Kahuna, Geese are much closer to the latter, as proven by the launch of their triumphant “Getting Killed Tour.”

Celebrating the release of their acclaimed third album, Getting Killed, the buzzy New York indie rockers have embarked on a sold-out jaunt, hitting various theaters and halls across the country. Last night, Cameron Winter and company wrapped up a two-show stint at Chicago’s Thalia Hall with rising art-rock act Racing Mount Pleasant. To put it crudely, it fuckin’ rocked.

Get Geese Tickets Here

Which, to check Geese’s ego just a bit, had just as much to do with the crowd’s energy as it did with the band’s impressive rock ‘n’ roll display. After Racing Mount Pleasant’s opening set, the pit, the bar, and the lines for the bathrooms were all alive with the same electrifying anticipation. “I think this night might be something really special,” I heard one attendee tell another before they joyously high-fived. Thanks to their well-crafted mystique and the excellent collection of songs that is Getting Killed, Geese had already won half of the battle before ever stepping onto the stage.

Related Video

Once they were on stage, the crew managed to match the audience’s energy. Almost exclusively backlit via lights resting on the floor, Geese ripped through every single song of Getting Killed (albeit not in order), a handful of favorites from their sophomore effort 3D Country, and even a lone deep cut from their debut Projector. Regardless of which project the cuts came from, there wasn’t a tune they launched into that wasn’t met with rapturous cheers.

That response was warranted — these kids can play. Not to say that there wasn’t the odd flubbed note or rushed section, but Geese have successfully incorporated looseness into their charm. It’s a main reason why Getting Killed is such an exciting listen, and it has been a large part of their live show for the past few years. The quartet (plus the one touring member) are all highly proficient musicians — particularly drummer Max Bassin, who was going absolutely nuts on the kit for the entire 90-minute set. They just also happen to prioritize atmosphere and fun over perfection in performance. That decision works wonders for them, especially as a band so clearly inspired by the raucous energy of classic rock and eccentric, charged indie.

Whether they were bringing the house down with rippers like “2112” and “Trinidad” or serenading us with melancholic heartbreakers like “Au Pays du Cocaine,” Geese presented themselves simultaneously as a confident band entering their prime and as a group of longtime friends who can’t believe they have made it so far. Bassist Dominic DiGesu grinned as he swapped between laying down melodic bass lines and bongo grooves, while guitarist Emily Green fittingly emulated the stylings of figures like Jonny Greenwood, letting her hair cover her face as she hunched over and delivered her wildly creative guitar parts. Winter, for his part, lived up to his reputation, showcasing his off-kilter sense of humor, signature baritone voice, and delicately devastating skills on the keys.

Two men arrested after Lostprophets’ Ian Watkins killed in prison attack

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Two men have been arrested following the prison attack that killed the convicted sex offender and former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins.

Yesterday (October 11), West Yorkshire Police confirmed that Watkins was attacked by a fellow inmate at HMP Wakefield and died from his injuries at the age of 48.

“At 9.39am this morning (Saturday), police were called by staff at HMP Wakefield reporting an assault on a prisoner,” a police statement said. “Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are investigating and inquiries remain ongoing at the scene.”

Now, police have confirmed that two men aged 25 and 43 have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently being held in police custody. A spokesperson for the Prison Service said they could not comment while the investigation is ongoing.

Watkins was serving a 29-year sentence, with a further six years on licence. He pleaded guilty to 13 sex offences in 2013, including the attempted rape of a baby, conspiring to rape a child, three counts of sexual assault involving children, seven involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.

In 2023, he was attacked and taken hostage by three other inmates, before being found and freed by officers and taken to hospital. It was later reported that Watkins had been stabbed with a “sharpened toilet brush” over a drug debt.

A 2024 book titled Life Behind Bars In The Monster Mansion by Jonathan Levi and Emma French claimed that Watkins had “spent thousands on protection” while in prison, explaining that rough justice is “particularly likely” to be “meted out” to paedophiles in jail.

In 2017, Watkins was reported to have been grooming a mother from his prison cell. The 21-year-old’s child was subsequently taken into care after social services were alerted of her contact with the disgraced singer.

‘We’re sickened,” said a spokesman from the NSPCC at the time. “It’s utterly bewildering that he could carry on grooming. It shows contempt for children he abused, and raises serious questions about supervision.”

At the time, it was said that prison officials in Wakefield reportedly found “nothing untoward” in their exchanges via letters and emails. A spokesman from Lincolnshire police meanwhile added: “We will always take action to safeguard vulnerable adults and children.”

Ian Watkins, the former lead singer of rock band Lostprophets and a convicted pedophile, was killed in a prison attack in the United Kingdom. He was 48.

Watkins died on Saturday (Oct. 11) after being stabbed by another inmate at HMP Wakefield, a high-security prison in West Yorkshire, according to multiple U.K. news outlets.

“At 9.39am this morning (Saturday), police were called by staff at HMP Wakefield reporting an assault on a prisoner,” West Yorkshire Police said in a statement, per Reuters. “Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.”

Although the statement did not name Watkins, Sky News reported that he was attacked with a knife. The Sun claimed his throat was slashed after inmates were released from their cells that morning. Further details about the incident had not yet been revealed at press time.

This was not the first time Watkins was assaulted in prison. In August 2023, he was attacked by three inmates and sustained neck injuries that required medical attention.

Watkins was serving a 29-year sentence following his 2013 conviction on numerous child sex offenses. He pleaded guilty to 13 charges, including the attempted rape of a baby. At sentencing, the judge described Watkins’ actions as having “plumbed new depths of depravity.”

Lostprophets formed in 1997 and achieved success in the 2000s, including a chart-topping U.K. album, Liberation Transmission, in 2006, and a No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart with “Last Train Home” in 2004. Their final album, Weapons, was released in 2012, shortly before Watkins’ arrest. The band disbanded shortly afterward.

On September 30 a court in Italy will, for the third time, begin hearing evidence in the case against American student Amanda Knox and her Italian former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, both accused of the murder of British student Meredith Kercher in Perugia in November 2007. In March, Italy's supreme court ordered a re-trial for both - this time in Florence - following the first two trials in Perugia that were marked by controversy. An appeal court in 2011 acquitted both, overturning 2009 convictions by a lower court. In an exclusive interview Knox, now aged 26, explains describes her experiences and explains why she will not be returning to face another protracted series of hearings.

Meredith Kercher was a 21-year-old British college student living in Perugia, Italy, until her life was brutally cut short in 2007. She was murdered and found dead in her Italian home, where she lived with former roommate Amanda Knox. Knox and her boyfriend at the time, Raffaele Sollecito, were wrongfully convicted of killing Kercher, stirring a global media frenzy against the then-20-year-old Knox. Now that Hulu’s The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox is out, many are still asking the same question: who killed Kercher?

Below, Hollywood Life has compiled the details from Kercher’s murder case.

Who Was Meredith Kercher?

Kercher was a student at the University of Leeds studying European politics and Italian. She reportedly wanted to work for the European Union or as a journalist in her future.

Before going to Perugia, Kercher appeared in Kristian Leontiou‘s “Some Say” music video in 2004. Students reportedly described Kercher as outgoing and caring.

Were Meredith Kercher & Amanda Knox Friends?

Kercher and Knox were roommates at their Perugia home, and they seemed to have an amicable co-living friendship. The two attended the EuroChocolate festival in October 2007, just weeks before Kercher was murdered, and together, the roommates attended a classical music concert. This is where Knox met her boyfriend, Sollecito, who was 23 years old at the time.

What Was Amanda Knox Accused of?

Knox was accused and convicted of murder, defamation, staging a break-in and sexual violence in the murder of Kercher. Prosecutors alleged that Knox attacked and killed Kerche and that Sollecito and then-20-year-old Rudy Guede sexually assaulted Kercher.

Guede is the only person who was definitively convicted of being involved in Kercher’s murder, while Knox and Sollecito were found not guilty of their convictions in 2011 and formally acquitted of killing Kercher in 2015.

Who Killed Meredith Kercher?

Guede is the only person that has been definitely convicted of killing Kercher. His blood-stained fingerprints were found at the crime scene. Guede, who had lived in Italy since childhood, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for Kercher’s murder in 2008. His prison sentence was reduced on appeal, then Guede was released early in 2021 for good behavior.

Where Is Rudy Guede Now?

Guede was released from prison in 2021. However, in 2023, he was accused of sexual assault and violence by a former girlfriend, whose identity has not been disclosed. They dated while Guede was in prison, and they broke up in 2023, when she pressed charges against him.

As of 2025, Guede is expected to stand trial sometime at the end of the year, according to CNN.

Hardy Talks About Bus Crash That Nearly Killed Him

Three years ago this week, Hardy was on his way back from a concert in Bristol, Tennessee, when his tour bus careened off the road and rolled down an embankment. The country singer, his photographer, his then-tour manager, and bus driver were all flung about the cabin and seriously injured.

Hardy has talked about the early morning hours of Oct. 2, 2022, in bits and pieces in the past, but on this week’s episode of Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast, he recounts in terrifying detail what happened just a few miles outside of Nashville.

According to Hardy, he and his photographer were listening to Kendrick Lamar and FaceTiming with Morgan Wallen, Hardy’s longtime friend, when his bus driver pulled over to use the bus’s bathroom. Something didn’t seem right to Hardy, so he asked his driver how he felt when he emerged.

“I said, ‘You good?’ And he said, ‘yep,’ and I said, ‘How much longer do we have?’ And he said, ‘Yep,’” Hardy recalls. “We got about two more miles down the road, and he had either an aneurysm or seizure while driving and we barreled off the side of the road. The bus flipped over three times.”

Hardy says all four were knocked unconscious and when he came to, he was on the ceiling of the bus, which was now upside-down. “It went from being a bus to a movie set, like a bomb went off,” he says. “I crawled out of the front windshield, which was busted open… The bus had gone so far down the hill that you couldn’t see it from the highway. So, all these trucks and cars were flying by and they couldn’t see us. I had a black hoodie with a big white circle on it and all I could think to do is take that hoodie off and try to wave people down. I did that for about 30 minutes and I could not get somebody to stop.”

Hardy, in shock, also lost his glasses and was unable to see. He says he was hesitant to return to the bus without first finding help. “Part of me was really scared to go back in there ‘cause I thought Tanner was dead,” he says.

While all four men survived the accident, each was severely injured. Hardy fractured his back and gashed open his head, but it was nearly even worse. “When I woke up, the bus windows are long like this, and my head was underneath the top of the panel,” he recalls. “If we would have slid another foot, it’d have cut my head off.”

“Who lost it all?” Netflix has unveiled a trailer for a documentary film titled Who Killed the Montreal Expos?, a sports history look back at a beloved baseball team. The Montreal Expos were the very first MLB team in Canada playing for 3 long decades. After the 2004 season, the franchise moved to Washington, D.C., and became the Washington Nationals. 20 years after they lost its beloved Expos, fans still want answers. Who Killed the Montreal Expos? takes a behind-the-scenes look at the controversial decisions, setbacks, and missteps (and betrayal?!) that sealed the team’s fate. Through candid interviews with Hall of Famers Pedro Martinez, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., and Larry Walker, along with beloved manager Felipe Alou, journalists, former employees, and diehard fans who lived through it all, the doc film investigates the behind-the-scenes controversies, devastating setbacks, and critical missteps that led to the shocking loss of one of the game’s most cherished franchises. With rare archival footage & flashbacks of the Expos’ greatest moments, the doc is equal parts sports drama, cultural love story, and gripping whodunit, unraveling the enduring mystery of how it all came to an end. This trailer plays like a crime thriller not a nostalgic look back at a team! Intense.

On September 29th, 2004, the Montreal Expos played their final home game before a grieving crowd at Olympic Stadium. For 35 years, the Expos had been more than a ballclub. They were the first MLB team to call Canada home and became part of Montreal’s heartbeat, a symbol of pride and identity for Québécois. Generations grew up with the Expos, celebrating triumphs & enduring struggles. That final game marked the end of an era, and for many, the loss of a piece of themselves. Two decades later, the heartbreak still remains, and the same question haunts the city that once dreamed in Expos blue: who’s to blame for the loss of our team? Featuring rare archival footage and flashbacks of the Expos’ greatest moments, the doc is equal parts sports drama, cultural love story, and gripping whodunit, unraveling the enduring mystery of how it all came to an end. Who Killed the Montreal Expos? is directed by Quebecois filmmaker Jean-François Poisson, of the doc films Marie-Soleil et Jean-Claude: Au-delà des étoiles, 35 jours de noirceur, Dédé et Patrick: au-delà des étoiles, and Gai(e) tu ne seras point, plus many other short films. Produced by Stéphanie Thibault. Exec produced by Richard Speer, Marie-Christine Pouliot, & Nick Trotta. Netflix debuts Who Killed the Montreal Expos? streaming on Netflix worldwide starting on October 21st, 2025 this fall.
