Saif was quizzed about getting married at a young age, and he replied, “It was kind of like running away from home in a sense. I don’t remember so many things going on, and I found a kind of security and an idea that it feels great. I thought I could make a home out of that.” To this, Sharmila said, “Both of them were very similar. Both of them were very funny. Whenever they would talk, it would be a lot of laughter, mimicking other people, tearing somebody to bits in a funny way. He is good at mimicry, and she is a great storyteller. They looked really happy together.”

Saif Ali Khan Shared That Sharmila Tagore Was Supportive

Saif Ali Khan also shared that his mother was very supportive when she got to know about their marriage. “She (Sharmila) was very supportive when I did it, and I remembered it. She had said, ‘I believe you are living with someone and you are doing something.’ So, I said, Yes. And she said, ‘Don’t get married.’ And I said that I got married yesterday. And a big tear fell off her eye. She started crying, and she said, ‘You really hurt me. Why didn’t you tell me?’ So that’s actually what happened there,” Saif added.

Sharmila Tagore’s Reaction On Saif Amrita’s Separation

Saif further shared that he first spoke to his mother about their separation. The Hum Tum actor said, “About the separation, the first person I spoke to before separation was my mother, who took a deep breath, and there was another pause on the phone, and said, ‘I am with you if that is what you want, and that helped a lot.”

According to Wion News, speaking about Saif Amrita’s divorce, Sharmila Tagore said, “When you are together for such a long time and you have such lovely children, then no breakup is easy. Then it is not harmonious. I know it is difficult to have harmony at that stage; everybody is hurt. So, that stage was not nice, but I tried. But that’s water under the bridge; she needed time to cool down. It is not just staying away; there are so many other things that are involved. It wasn’t a happy time for us because Ibrahim was just three, and we were very fond of the children. Tiger was especially fond of Ibrahim, and he would say, ‘That’s a good lad.’ He didn’t get that time with him. So, we felt doubly deprived to lose Amrita and the two kids. So, it’s not just about him, but we also had to adjust to all that.”

Before Maine Pyar Kiya made him a national heartthrob, Salman Khan had already debuted in the 1988 film Biwi Ho Toh Aisi. What’s even more astonishing is how he got there — without ever going for an audition, portfolio, or even mentioning his illustrious last name.

Director JK Bihari, who directed the family drama featuring Rekha and Farooq Sheikh, spoke about the time he saw Salman for the first time quite recently. Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Bihari remembered, “I was sitting in my garage and noticed a boy walking down the road towards me with a file in his hand. I just judged him by his walk that I am going to sign him.”

It was Salman Khan himself. He was then an obscure youth struggling to make his place in the movies. Bihari was impressed with Salman’s presence and demeanor so much so that he wasn’t interested in a screen test. “He came and discussed things with me and I agreed. He was surprised. He didn’t mention his father’s name.”. If he had done that, I may not have cast him, Bihari divulged.

Salman’s father, Salim Khan, was an established and well-known screenwriter in Bollywood, but Salman did not use that leverage. His humility and readiness to begin at the bottom left an indelible mark. Bihari explained that when he later found out about Salman’s identity, he worried that the actor would leave behind such a minor role. Salim Khan advised his son to persevere, saying, “You are a new director, he is also new.”

As a matter of fact, Salman was so keen to become an actor that he agreed to a strict three-film contract with the producer at a very small price. “Salman wanted a break, so he agreed to sign on the dotted line,” Bihari claimed, emphasizing the actor’s initial hunger and commitment to his work.

One year later, Salman’s life took a drastic turn with the coming of Maine Pyar Kiya, where he enacted the lead role and overnight became a sensation. From a random walk into a garage to becoming one of Indian cinema’s biggest stars, Salman’s career started with a moment of sheer destiny.

A source speaking to Mid-Day said, “Sajid has been approached by the studio, but he hasn’t given a final nod yet. The studio is keen to have him direct because of his expertise in comedy. Yashvardhan is also set to start another project with Phantom Studios, but he might prioritise this first. Sajid was also supposed to direct a film with John Abraham, but that didn’t materialise.” There are also rumours that the project could be a remake of a popular South Indian film.

Regarding Sajid Khan’s recent activities, he participated in ‘Bigg Boss 16’ in 2022. His appearance drew controversy, with the Delhi Commission for Women’s chief Swati Maliwal reportedly writing to then-Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, urging him to remove Khan from the show. Maliwal argued that his presence provided an undue platform to an alleged sexual predator to attempt to rehabilitate his image.

He said Kareena was out when the incident took place, and he was with their sons Taimur and Jeh after watching a movie. Around 2 a.m., the maid informed him that an intruder was in Jeh’s room, holding a knife and demanding money. Saif described how he rushed into the room and confronted the man, who swung the knife wildly, injuring both Jeh and the nanny. A fierce struggle ensued, and Saif was stabbed multiple times, including a wound near his spine.

Saif credited Jeh’s nanny for saving his life by pushing the attacker away. Despite the pain, Saif reassured his son Taimur that he would survive. After the attacker fled, Kareena planned to take the children to Karisma Kapoor’s house, but Saif insisted on going to the hospital, even requesting a stretcher upon arrival. Addressing the rumors, Saif said he walked out of the hospital because he wanted to reassure fans and avoid unnecessary panic. “There was no need for a wheelchair,” he explained, adding that although walking was painful, he was physically capable. Saif also shared that his mother, Sharmila Tagore, advised him to use a wheelchair, but he chose not to.

There will always be different opinions—that’s what the show is about,” she added.

Shilpa also praised Salman’s hosting skills. She stated, “It’s unfair to say he’s biased. He’s hosted the show brilliantly for many years. He’s a fabulous host. We would wait eagerly for Weekend Ka Vaar just to see Salman guide us.”

She acknowledged that it’s impossible to please everyone. Shilpa dmitted she hasn’t watched the recent episode where Salman addressed Amaal and Abhishek’s fight. But she confidently asserted that Salman Khan is not biased. She emphasised that Salman brings his own perspective to the show, and differing opinions don’t necessarily mean bias.

Last month, Samay Raina attended the screening of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood in Mumbai.

Raghav looked back at the moment when everyone saw Samay wearing that T-shirt, and how Shah Rukh and his son Aryan reacted to it when he joined Ranveer Allahabadia on his podcast.

Raghav laughed and said, “Yeh T-shirt pehen ke waha par pohcha huwa hai. Aur log has rahe hai, Aryan has raha hai, sab has rahe hai. Woh kar sakta hai, woh toh aisa hi hai na. Hum nahi kar sakte na. Pure party me aise hi ghum raha tha, T-shirt dikha dikha ke, sabko (He showed up there wearing that T-shirt, and everyone is laughing! Aryan’s laughing, the crowd’s laughing, the whole place is cracking up. But of course, he can pull it off, that’s just the kind of person he is. We couldn’t do that even if we tried. He was roaming around the entire party flaunting that T-shirt proudly, showing it off to everyone).

When asked how Shah Rukh reacted to it, Raghav revealed that even Shah Rukh couldn’t stop laughing about it, saying, “Sir ke liye toh sabhi bachche hai na yaar, sir treats everyone like a beta (You know, for Sir, everyone’s like his own kid. He treats them all like his son).”

Last month, Samay Raina attended the screening of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood in Mumbai wearing a simple black T-shirt which came with a message that read, ‘Say no to cruise’. The words were seemingly a dig at Aryan’s cruise-drug case. His choice of clothing led to a conversation on social media.

One wrote, “Oh God!!!!! Samay is born different. Who would have thought? I can’t stop laughing, with another sharing, “He has guts. I know it’s cliche, but…. But bro should really hesitate.”

About the drug case

In October 2021, Aryan Khan was embroiled in a high-profile drugs case after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided a rave party on the Goa-bound Cordelia Empress cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.

The ship, bound for Lakshadweep, became the centre of national headlines after Aryan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant, and several others were detained. Aryan was arrested by the NCB team, led by the ex-Zonal officer, Sameer Wankhede, in October 2021. He was released after spending more than three weeks in jail following his arrest. Later, Aryan was given a clean chit in the drugs case.

Bigg Boss 19’s much-awaited Weekend Ka Vaar episode is all set to air tonight, and host Salman Khan is back with his signature reality checks. In the latest promo, Salman is seen addressing the lack of participation and rising personal conflicts in the house, particularly singling out Mridul Tiwari and Nehal Chudasama.

The episode opens with Salman taking a dig at the housemates, saying, “Mera intezaar kar rahe ho aap log? Main kya bolu aur yaha par kya hi farak padta hai?”
(“Are you all waiting for me? What should I say — does it even matter here?”) He then turns his attention to Mridul, commenting on his low visibility in the house: “Mridul, jab niklo ye show aap dekho. Aapko khud pe shaq hoga ki main ye show pe tha ya nahi.”
