bitchy | Prince William & Kate attended the requiem mass for the Duchess of Kent

by jummy84 September 17, 2025
written by jummy84

The Duchess of Kent’s funeral is happening today. First, the Requiem Mass at Westminster Cathedral, then a private funeral in Windsor. King Charles was one of the first to arrive at the mass today, and his wife pulled out at the last minute because of illness. The Prince and Princess of Wales are in attendance at the mass – they confirmed their attendance earlier today, about an hour before Camilla pulled out. Kate wore the same pearl-and-diamond choker which she wore to QEII’s funeral. It’s her funeral bling, I guess, or they just give her that necklace for funerals, since Camilla controls the Royal Collection jewels now. I also think Kate is wearing the same black coatdress she wore to Prince Philip’s funeral?

I’m also including some photos of the other requiem mass attendees, including: Frederick Windsor and his wife Sophie Winkleman; the Earl of Snowden; and interestingly enough, Penelope Knatchbull, Countess Mountbatten of Burma. I wonder why Penny is there? Was she particularly close to the Kents?

Kate Beckinsale Stars in Action Thriller Trash ‘Stolen Girl’ Full Trailer

“They need you on these jobs.” Vertical and Voltage Pictures have unveiled an official trailer for an action thriller movie titled Stolen Girl, arriving to watch later this month. Another one of these super obviously, poorly shot, entirely cliche action movies being dumped VOD soon. Though someone will inevitably say it’s a good movie anyway. To top it off, it’s directed by a TV director who has barely ever done any action or any real feature films before. Is he the only they could get to make this junk? Supposedly based on a true story, an American woman spends more than ten years tracking down her daughter who was abducted and taken to the Middle East by the child’s father. Their big mission takes them to Beirut, where they’re pulled into a treacherous web of international espionage, betrayal, and corruption. Stolen Girl stars Kate Beckinsale, Scott Eastwood, Jordan Duvigneau, Matt Craven, & Arvin Kananian. This looks as terrible as any movie can – and it looks like blatant propaganda to always keep people afraid of “others”. Avoid at all costs.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for James Kent’s action thriller Stolen Girl, direct from YouTube:

Stolen Girl Action Thriller Trailer

Stolen Girl Action Thriller Trailer

Based on extraordinary real-life events, Stolen Girl follows a determined mother, Mara (Kate Beckinsale), whose world is shattered when her ex-husband, Karim, abducts their young daughter, Amina, and flees to the Middle East. Desperate to bring her child home, Mara teams up with Robeson (Scott Eastwood), an enigmatic ex-marine & child abduction specialist. Their mission leads to Beirut, where they’re pulled into a treacherous web of international espionage, betrayal, and corruption. As time runs out, Mara faces the hardest choice of her life—reclaiming her daughter or leaving her behind for her own safety. Stolen Girl is directed by British TV director / filmmaker James Kent, director of the TV movies Witchcrave, Margaret, The Thirteenth Tale, The Aftermath, La Voix Humaine, + many TV series including “The Capture”, “Fellow Travelers”, “Lost Boys & Fairies” recently. The screenplay is written by Kas Graham and Rebecca Pollock. Produced by Monika Bacardi, Andrea Iervolino, Scott Lambert, Luca Matrundola, and Frida Torresblanco. Vertical debuts Kent’s Stolen Girl movie in select US theaters + on VOD starting September 26th, 2025.

bitchy | Platell: Prince Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for boring, sulky William & Kate

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

During Prince Harry’s four-day visit to the UK, Daily Mail columnist Amanda Platell could not shut up about how much she despised every single thing Harry was doing. Not only that, but Platell spun out several ideas for the many ways in which “King William” will eventually punish his brother. The whole thing was so toxic, it made me advocate for Harry leaving the UK and never coming back. But Harry had other ideas, obviously, and he ended up getting hugely positive coverage in the British press. Well, instead of just going all-in on her Harry hate-athon, Platell is now attempting to do the funniest volte-face of all time. “You know how I said King William will strip the Sussexes’ titles and ban them from the UK? Nevermind, William and Kate suck, actually.” I’m paraphrasing, but only barely.

Ahead of Prince Harry’s whirlwind four-day ‘pseudo royal tour’ many, myself included, dismissed it as just another desperate and calculated attempt to ingratiate himself into the royal fold. After all, that’s what he and his wife Meghan depend on to make their Netflix millions. Yet I have to confess I was perhaps too cynical. Harry’s visit brought us something we have not seen for a very long time from the royals – laughter and joy.

Which leaves many of us asking why William and Kate have decided to hide away and become the Prince and Princess of Boring. There have been fantastic pictures of Harry larking around with children in need, images like those of the cheeky Harry of old. Dare I say, the kind of pictures that Princess Diana generated during her short life even after she lost her HRH title.

And that is why Harry’s visit should be a wake-up call for his estranged brother William. In my book, he should stop skulking and be the man he was born to be. While Harry was cheering up ill children, a sombre Prince William was worthily chairing a conference marking World Suicide Prevention Day in Cardiff – admittedly an important cause. While Harry was in London high-fiving staff at the Diana Awards set up in honour of their Mum, Kate was sent off to not one but two events at textile factories.

Yes it is easy for Harry to fly in for four days and capture the world’s attention, but then he followed it up with a surprise visit to Ukraine. There he promised that, after helping through his Invictus Games to rehabilitate soldiers who had lost limbs, he would offer that chance to the men, women and children in Ukraine who had been similarly wounded in the war.

And then came the bombshell. On her Fresh Hell Substack, respected royal biographer Tina Brown claimed King Charles is currently ‘less irritated’ by Prince Harry than he is by William….I have to agree with Tina Brown on one thing – that Harry’s triumphant tour has been a great success in PR terms and is ‘bad news for the Prince of Wales’.

Especially at a time when the latest survey revealed, shockingly, that support for the Monarchy has dropped from 86 percent in the Eighties to its lowest level since records began, with only half of Brits today supporting what many see as an outdated institution. The only images we ever see of William smiling is in the home videos he and Kate reluctantly release of them and the children frolicking, not on royal duties seen by the public but hidden away around one of their many homes.

[From The Daily Mail]

While Harry obviously didn’t plan on that “crumbling support for the monarchy” poll to come out in the middle of his visit, it’s hilarious that it happened that way. It was like a direct cause-and-effect before our eyes – an old, cancer-ridden king avoiding his family in a gothic castle in Scotland, a workshy heir pitifully screaming “don’t forget about me” during thrown-together last-minute events, and the charismatic ginger prince who walked away from the whole toxic lot. It feels like Kate and William actually wish they were just “boring.” Boring could be efficient, boring could be ho-hum, dutiful and visible. Instead, they’re lazy, barely visible and clearly desperate.

Kate Middleton’s 13-Second Bun Hack Should Be Taught in Schools

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

I’ll admit it: I’m jealous of Kate Middleton and everyone who’s mastered this bun hack.

On September 11 the Princess of Wales visited the Marina Mill in the UK’s Kent County to tour the family-run silk weaving company and “celebrate the unique skill, creativity, and craftsmanship of British textile manufacturers,” per Kensington Palace. Though she arrived at the facility in a chic gray suit and black heels, she shook off her blazer when it was time to roll up her sleeves and try her hand at screen printing.

Of course, Middleton didn’t literally roll up her sleeves, as she was wearing a short-sleeved black knit top under her suit jacket, nor was she carrying a hair tie on her wrist when she wanted to secure her cascading loose curls away from of her face. I have a hunch that would break some sort of royal protocol, though I cannot confirm which one.

So, what did she do? Based on a video shared by Hello Magazine, the princess took a few seconds to simply gather her hair into a low ponytail and tie it into a knot. More specifically, she seems to twist the ponytail up and around before pushing it through the gap and pulling until the knot is secure, resulting in an unfussy low bun.

I’m sorry, what did I just watch? Though some Instagram commenters claim “most women can do this,” I assure you I’m not one of them. In fact, as someone with Rachel-inspired layers that have never reached too far past my shoulders, I wasn’t even aware that was something a person could do. Personally, if I need to put my hair in a bun, it requires at least one hair tie and a minimum of five bobby pins to secure all the pieces that stick out like I’m Lizzie McGuire.

bitchy | Princess Kate wore an ‘MM’ apron for one of her photo-ops this week

Here are more photos of the Princess of Wales out and about on Thursday. She did TWO events, y’all! First, she visited the Sudbury Silk Mills, then she visited Marina Mill. At Marina Mill, they let Kate do some silk-screening skits for a good photo-op and she really enjoyed it. Somewhat hilariously, she was given a Marina Mill apron for her skit, only the aprons are emblazoned with the mill’s initials: MM. She’s actually “MS” for Meghan Sussex now, Kate!!

As I said yesterday, I actually liked Kate’s Bella Freud suit. It was a good cut for her figure, it looked unfussy, clean and modern. I ended up liking the look so much more without the jacket though – Kate removed her blazer and revealed her slim-cut black sweater, and she should absolutely wear outfits like this more often – a good pair of trousers with a fitted sweater. It’s such a nice business-casual look.

If you’re wondering if Kate’s fans or supporters are still infantilizing her to a crazy degree, look no further than the reaction to Kate pulling back her hair at Marina Mill. She didn’t want her weave hanging down for her photo-op, so she quickly pulled her hair back in a loose chignon. Like millions of women do multiple times every day. The “trick” of it was that Kate apparently didn’t use a clip or a hair tie. She literally just used her too-long extensions to “tie” her hair back. They’re acting like she turned water into wine.

The Princess of Wales tries her hand at silk screen printing – she popped on an apron, tied her hair ip (without a band – how?! ) and then got stuck in! It shows just how much work goes into the handmade fabrics here at Marina Mill in Kent. pic.twitter.com/oJFAqjRWYF

The princess has long been passionate about the importance of the British textiles industry and its role as part of the UK’s cultural and creative voice. Her paternal ancestors were the owners of the woolen manufacturer and merchant, William Lupton & Co, which was based in Leeds.

In January 2025, Her Royal Highness visited Corgi, a textiles manufacturer in South Wales focused on the production of socks and knitwear. In September 2023, she visited textiles manufacturers in Leeds and Lancaster, where she learnt more about the heritage, history, and innovation of the industry, the technical processes involved and how vital the sector is to the UK economy.

Her first visit saw her meeting staff at Sudbury Silk Mills, which weaves fabrics for three exclusive companies: Stephen Walters, David Walters, and Humphries Weaving. Employing more than 100 people, they combine traditional artisanal design and weaving with the cutting-edge technology to produce fabrics of exceptional quality. There are more than 40 state-of-the-art looms in operation at the mill, producing a wide range of fabrics all custom-woven for leading fashion houses, interior designers, and heritage institutions.

Sudbury Silk Mills places great emphasis on its people and the local community, and takes pride in generating employment for local people with training and long-term development, enabling them to grow their skills and knowledge. During her visit Kate Middleton spent time with the design team to observe the creative process, from using Sudbury’s archives for inspiration to drawing designs by hand that will be used in future fabric creations. Her Royal Highness then went onto the weaving floor to meet members of the production team, hear about their work, and view the weaving looms in operation, before observing the quality control process and final inspections of finished woven fabric.

Later today Kate will visit Marina Mill in Cuxton Kent.

bitchy | Princess Kate will do two solo events on Thursday, the last day of Harry’s visit

by jummy84 September 11, 2025
written by jummy84

When the Prince and Princess of Wales announced that they would attend rugby matches over the weekend, the announcement came about 24 hours beforehand, in what everyone assumed would be around the same time as Prince Harry’s flight into Heathrow. Harry really surprised them by flying in overnight on Sunday, going straight to Windsor to pay his respects to the late QEII on Monday, and then keeping it breezy until the WellChild Awards on Monday night. What I’m saying is that William and Kate purposefully went outside on Saturday in advance of Harry’s visit, which they thought was only going to be for one or two days. Then they were stunned to learn that Harry planned for four days of events, his own little royal tour.

Suddenly, the Kensington Palace clownshow had to throw together some last minute events for the two biggest clowns of all, Peg and Wig. Kate “surprised” everyone by turning up at William’s Women’s Institute event on Monday. Kate was mercifully absent from William’s event on Tuesday, where he made jazz hands at a homelessness project. But they’re making Kate and her poor sausage-curl wig go outside AGAIN. On Thursday, Kate will have TWO events.

The Princess of Wales is set to carry out two engagements this week, Kensington Palace has confirmed. Kate, who made a surprise appearance alongside the Prince of Wales on the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death on Monday, will take a tour of Sudbury Silk Mills in Sudbury, Suffolk on Thursday, followed by a trip to Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent.

The princess’s engagements come during brother-in-law Duke of Sussex stay in the UK, and will take place on what is expected to be Harry’s last day of charity visits. Kensington Palace said the princess’s visit would “celebrate the unique skill, creativity and craftsmanship of British textile manufacturers”.

In a statement announcing the visit, the Palace said: “Her Royal Highness’s visit will highlight the rich heritage of the British textile industry and celebrate the joy found in working in the creative industries.” It said Kate has “long been passionate about the importance of the British textiles industry and its role as part of the UK’s cultural and creative voice”.

[From The Daily Mirror]

Back in June, the Daily Beast’s Royalist got a major briefing after Kate dramatically pulled out of Ascot at the last minute. A former staffer sniffed: “Kate is recalibrating her entire life, her entire work-life balance….She has never found the public appearances, and the forensic attention and criticism that goes with them, at all easy to deal with, and it was just too much this week.” Another royal insider said: “The important thing here is Kate’s recovery. It was too much, unfortunately, for her to have three appearances in under a week, and the lesson has been learned. Kate will take it much easier for the rest of the year.” Well, after two months off and a yacht holiday around Greece, suddenly Kate has made a full recovery, enough to do (gasp) five events in eight days. I’m really not interested in hearing any more bullsh-t about Kate needing to be babied even further – she’s showing that all it takes is a visit from Harry to get her ass in gear.

Additionally, this is exactly the kind of bullsh-t that makes me extra grateful that Harry and Meghan got the hell out of there. This is what they would have had to deal with 24-7. Any time Harry or Meghan would do a charity event or highlight a good cause, Will and Kate would have put together some pitiful excuse for an “event” at the last minute and demand equal coverage. While I’m thrilled that H&M don’t have to put up with it, you know Charles and the media have significant regrets. I hope Charles watched the absolutely clownery from his heir and the wig this week.

“They want your shelter, your food, your water, your sanity.” Aura Entertainment has revealed an official trailer for a film called Coyotes, a wild horror comedy made by genre filmmaker Colin Minihan (of Grave Encounters, What Keeps You Alive). This is premiering at Fantastic Fest 2025 coming up later this month before it opens in October. Trapped in their Hollywood Hills home, a family fights for survival when caught between a raging wildfire and a pack of savage coyotes. Starring real-life couple Justin Long and Kate Bosworth as the trapped family’s parents. Their performances underline the dual nature of the nightmare they are living—how human bonds are tested under extreme pressure and how strong one’s primal survival instinct can be. The fest adds: from “Colin Minihan, the mind behind Grave Encounters, Coyotes combines the claustrophobic dread of home invasion with brutal eco-horror, sugarcoated with [funny] situations. The film’s atmospheric intensity, tight pacing, and escalating stakes channel the distinctive unpredictability of nature gone rogue and the disastrous consequences of the forced displacement of wildlife.” Also co-starring Katherine McNamara, Brittany Allen, Mila Harris, & Norbert Leo Butz. This looks bonkers! Enjoy.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Colin Minihan’s thriller film Coyotes, direct from YouTube:

“The darkness has teeth.” When a scorching wildfire hits the Hollywood Hills, a family (Justin Long and Kate Bosworth) is stranded as their neighborhood is destroyed and their home becomes a blazing prison. What begins as an intimate domestic drama quickly escalates into a pulse-pounding survival thriller as a pack of predatory coyotes disoriented by the fires tighten their perimeter around the house. Rendered powerless by collapsing roads and no electricity, the family must rely on their courage, resilience & love for one another to survive both the inferno and snarling threat outdoors. Coyotes is directed by American genre filmmaker Colin Minihan, formerly of the Vicious Brothers, director on the films Grave Encounters, Extraterrestrial, It Stains the Sands Red, and What Keeps You Alive previously. The screenplay is written by Tad Daggerhart & Nick Simon; from a story by Tad Daggerhart, Daniel Meersand, Nick Simon. With music by Brittany Allen. Produced by Ford Corbett, James Harris, Joshua Harris, Nathan Klingher, and Jib Polhemus. This is premiering at Fantastic Fest 2025 in Austin, TX this month. Aura Ent. will then release Minihan’s Coyotes in select US theaters starting October 3rd, 2025 coming up this fall. Who’s interested?

EXCLUSIVE: Imagine Selling Sunset but with a murder mystery plot. Legendary Television is developing a series based on Kate Weston’s real estate novel How to Make a Killing.

The company, which is behind series such as HBO Max’s Dune Prophecy and Apple’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, has optioned the novel, which was published by Headline earlier this summer.

The series follows star real estate agent and mom-fluencer Amanda Harrington and her high-stakes team as they navigate the cutthroat world of luxury property sales. When rising star Bella is found dead at the open house of a coveted $50M mansion, everyone becomes a suspect in this dark comedy.

Weston is a former stand-up comedian and author of the YA comedy murder mystery, Murder on A School Night. She also wrote Diary of a Confused Feminist, which was nominated for the Carnegie Medal, the sequel Must Do Better, and her latest adult book was You May Now Kill the Bride.

Legendary has been busy in the television space in recent years. It is also behind the live-action Drops of God for Apple and Netflix’s animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.

It is currently developing a new sci-fi franchise with Akiva Goldsman, based on three Irwin Allen series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants and The Time Tunnel. It is also working on a live-action Pacific Rim series from Eric Heisserer for Amazon’s Prime Video and recently sold a reboot of Sid and Marty Krofft’s 1974 sci-fi adventure show Land of the Lost to Netflix.

Weston is represented by Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency’s Hannah Ladds.
