Kate Middleton Just Wore A Knit From This Editor-Approved Brand

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

When the weather cools, there’s a tendency to retreat into rigid outfit formulas—some combination of trousers, knit, and coat, and out the door we go. But winter dressing doesn’t have to feel so prescriptive. The beauty of the season lies in the layering, and if there’s one person who has reminded me of that this week, it’s Kate Middleton.

Yesterday, the Princess of Wales visited Mallon Farm alongside Prince William, wearing what can only be described as the ideal cold-weather outfit. The look began with a classic roll-neck, a cream knit cardigan, paired with a grey pleated skirt and black slouchy leather boots. She finished the ensemble with a deep-green waxed barn jacket—channelling the British country chic aesthetic that she’s mastered over the years.

As a self-professed knitwear obsessive, my eyes immediately went to her cream cardigan, which turned out to be from one of my favourite British brands, With Nothing Underneath. Known for its sustainably made capsule staples, the label has expanded from tailoring into beautifully cut knitwear. The Jura Cardigan—crafted from durable yet luxuriously soft yak wool—is designed to withstand unpredictable British weather. The “coffee” tone worn by Kate is particularly elegant, though it also comes in navy and black for those who prefer a darker palette.

As for the rest of her look, Middleton leaned into timeless wardrobe heroes: a Ralph Lauren pleated midi skirt, Penelope Chilvers suede boots, and a classic Barbour jacket—each a lesson in chic British dressing.

And the best part? Every piece is still in stock, which means replicating her elegant, countryside-inspired outfit has never been easier. Scroll to shop below.

Kate Cassidy ‘didn’t want to live’ after Liam Payne’s death

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

11 October 2025

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy “didn’t want to live” following his death.

Kate Cassidy fell into a deep depression after her boyfriend Liam Payne’s death last year

The former One Direction singer tragically died at the age of 31 in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina and the influencer has revealed that she fell into a deep depression in the aftermath.

Kate told Page Six at a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) benefit: “I was always just kind of doing nothing and just dealing with that grief and pain, just not wanting to really live my life.”

She explained that it took her several weeks to realise that she needed to restore a sense of structure to her life again.

Cassidy said: “I finally realised, ok, I need to live my life, I need to get up, get out of bed.”

The 26-year-old influencer recalled how she started by setting an alarm to get out of bed one hour earlier each day and began “working out” and “eating clean” and continues to do so for the sake of her mental health.

She said: “I like to always be up early, have a workout class planned, go for a nice walk, eat cleaner. I feel like, for me, being active, always keeps my mind so much cleaner and healthier.”

Kate paid a touching tribute to Liam ahead of the first anniversary of his passing next week as she described him as “the best person I ever met”.

The influencer said: “He lit up any room. He was just so sweet, so funny. I’ve never met anybody like him, and I’m sure I probably won’t ever meet anybody like him in my life.

“In a way, I am actually glad that he’s just going to be that one person. He was the best person I ever met.”

Meanwhile, Liam’s One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson described his death as “unjust and frustrating” earlier this week and confessed that the What Makes You Beautiful band’s upcoming 15th anniversary felt “uncomfortable” in the wake of the tragedy.

Speaking to Rolling Stone UK magazine, Louis said: “It was really uncomfortable, actually, the 15th anniversary, because the [collective] feeling to celebrate is as important, if not more important than ever, on behalf of Liam.”

Louis – who was put together in 1D with Liam, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik on The X Factor UK – admitted marking the band’s formation in the past made him feel “sick of nostalgia”, but doing so earlier this year “brought up those feelings” he’s been dealing with since his friend’s death.

He added: “You know, there’s still a level in my head [where it feels] unjust and frustrating that he’s not with us anymore.

“So, it just brought up those feelings, although I’m still living with them anyway.”

bitchy | Princess Kate rewore her green Victoria Beckham suit for an event in Oxford

by jummy84 October 10, 2025
written by jummy84

As promised, the Princess of Wales stepped out today in Oxford for an event about childhood development and children’s mental health. Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day, but Kate rarely works on Fridays, so she came out today. There’s a not-so-secret other reason why she scheduled this event today – it’s because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in New York this evening, receiving Project Healthy Minds’ Humanitarians of the Year Award for their work on The Parents’ Network. As I said before, Princess Copykeen had all kinds of reasons for stepping out today and trying to step on the Sussexes’ newscycle before the newscycle even began. Also note: this is also why the left-behinds are desperate to know Harry and Meghan’s schedules, so they can ride their coattails and organize their “royal schedules” to coincide with whatever Harry and Meghan are doing. King Charles and Camilla are also out today, I’m just sayin’. There is a hyperawareness in royal circles for Harry & Meghan’s announced events.

As for Kate, she wore an olive/puke green suit by Victoria Beckham. The Daily Mail seems to be treating this like a new-to-us VB look, but I double-checked it – this is the exact same suit Kate wore in May of this year. She just styled it differently. In May, she wore a tragic ruffled blouse in white. Today, she wore a matching top, which honestly makes the suit look a lot better. Less Austin Powers. But it’s still not a great look for her, let’s be honest.

Her event was a visit to a Home Start, and apparently Kate’s Early Years Foundation has sent out an “Explainer Series” for people who work with kids under the age of 5. Per the Sun, this is all about those animated short films made by Kate’s team, and the videos are part of the series? I have no idea. The busywork is getting confusing!

bitchy | Piers Morgan: No serious person believes King Charles or Kate are racists

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

This past weekend, the Daily Mail began serializing Piers Morgan’s new book, Woke Is Dead. As you can imagine, the first excerpt was almost exclusively about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are seen by Britain’s right-wing establishment as the most prominent examples of “woke.” (British royalists also know that they have to talk about the Sussexes to sell books.) As I often remarked when Dan Wootton was shrieking and squealing about “woke” back in the day, these people are using “woke” to mean “Black.” That’s all it means to them. That Black people are doing something they don’t like, like existing or thriving or calling out racism. That’s “woke.” Well, even though the Mail put Piers’s book excerpt on their cover, his BS was immediately overshadowed by Meghan stepping out in Paris. Well, as the Meghan-in-Paris story cools down, it’s time to actually figure out wtf Piers is saying.

Piers Morgan said in a new book that he “played a small role in burying the obscene race claims” made by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry about the royal family. In his new book, Woke Is Dead, serialized in the Daily Mail, Morgan said his own decision to name King Charles III as the royal who made the remark and Princess Kate as having been present played a role in “burying” the allegation.

He wrote: “I gladly played a small role in burying the obscene race claims for good when Harry and Meghan’s self-appointed publicist, Omid Scobie, published a gossipy, pro-Sussex book called Endgame in 2023. He boasted that he knew the names of Meghan’s ‘royal racists’ and simply couldn’t use them for legal reasons. But the names appeared in the Dutch edition of Endgame, and I named them live on air in my TV show as King Charles and Catherine, Princess of Wales. I did that because speculation was raging out of control, dragging the whole royal family across the coals again. But also because, once you know the names, it becomes blindingly obvious just how absurd the accusations are.”

“Whatever your view of the monarchy, I don’t think any serious person really believes that King Charles or the Princess of Wales have a racist bone in their bodies. Judging by the public reaction, this was only the endgame for the royal race-baiters.”

Morgan frames Harry and Meghan’s royal exit as emblematic of what he described as the “woke” era but said the world had now moved on, and if the couple’s Oprah Winfrey interview were given today, it would be received differently.

“There is no doubt the royal family has taken a battering,” he wrote, “not least a five-year onslaught from Prince Harry and Princess Pinocchio, the Sussex separatists, who attacked the institution as a cruel and racist anachronism. In my view, they did so just to boost their own brand. But the monarchy under King Charles is doing what monarchy does – enduring, calmly above the fray. Brand Sussex, meanwhile, is now about as popular as Ebola. When I denounced their infamous whine-a-thon interview with Oprah Winfrey, the MyTruth pioneer, in 2021 and lost my job hosting breakfast television as a result, it came at the very apex of woke insanity.”

“We were in the age of endlessly offended cancel culture, when everybody was assumed guilty until proven innocent, especially on socially sensitive matters like race or mental health. Self-certifying as a victim—as Harry and Meghan so publicly did—meant your truth was gospel. I don’t think the reaction to Harry and Meghan’s damaging allegations about the royal family would be anywhere near as unquestioning and sympathetic if the same interview happened today,” he added. “Riding a woke wave of self-pitying martyrdom may have been the only smart thing the Sussexes have ever done. But waves have to break in the end—and so does the public’s patience with liars.”

[From Newsweek]

Just to be clear, Meghan said (in the Oprah interview) she was suicidal during the worst of the British media’s racist hate campaign against her. Piers Morgan’s immediate reaction was to call her a liar. Meghan didn’t get him fired either – he got himself fired. Meghan spoke to an executive at GMB’s network, and she said that it’s pretty awful for anyone with suicidal ideation for Piers to bloviate about how they’re all liars and no one should believe them. She only spoke to the executive after Piers had spent years smearing her and paying her relatives to recite toxic scripts about her. Piers was still allowed on the air after that, but when Alex Beresford challenged Piers, Piers stormed off the set in a childish huff. THAT is when Piers was fired. I’m including the video below. Instant classic. As for what Piers says about how no one believes that Charles and Kate are galloping racists… lmao. If anything, people are even more convinced that ALL of them said really horrible sh-t to and about Meghan.

bitchy | Prince William & Kate take George & Charlotte to the pub for pub-quizzes

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

One of the funniest things Kensington Palace tries to do is convince people that the Prince and Princess of Wales are secretly very intelligent and “credible experts” in multiple fields. It really is the palace’s communications office trying to sell William and Kate this way, because William and Kate have shown time and time again that they are not very smart. I’m not saying that they’re complete idiots, by the way. I think Kate is “smart” in a sly, conniving, manipulative way, and hey, she’s figured out a way to survive within that institution (which isn’t nothing). William isn’t even clever in a sly way though, let’s be honest. Every time William opens his mouth, courtiers wince. Well, here’s some PR fluff: William and Kate take their kids down to a local pub for the pub quiz nights.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are enjoying some trivial pursuits after setting up a family pub-quiz team. William, Kate and their two eldest children George, 12, and Charlotte, ten, regularly take part in a weekly quiz in a pub near one of the royal homes.

One rival said: “The quiz is actually very tricky but also a lot of fun. My lips are sealed on whether ‘Team Wales’ has ever won first prize.”

During his Apple TV+ interview with actor Eugene Levy last week, William admitted he struggles with history and said George is “way better”. But the Aston Villa fan impressed with his footie knowledge when he appeared on TNT Sports before last season’s Champions League clash with PSG.

William and Kate, both 43, have degrees from the University of St Andrews. Wills earned a 2:1 in Geography and Kate got a 2:1 in Modern Art.

Their children go to fee-paying Lambrook near Ascot, Berks, recognised as one of the UK’s top 100 prep schools. Kate and Wills were regular pub quizzers when they lived in North Wales following their 2011 wedding.

[From The Sun]

I know pubs also serve food and family members of all ages are welcome in pubs, but it’s fascinating to hear that William and Kate are basically taking their kids to a bar so they can play bar games. This is one of those “if poor people did it, it would be looked down upon” situations. But as I said, this is just some PR fluff, some we’re-so-normal blokery. The Sun was being shady with “a pub near one of the royal homes,” which makes me wonder if this is happening in Norfolk or Windsor? Anyway, the story reminds me so much of all of the weird and fake sightings of Kate in 2024. “We saw Kate in a chocolate shop, we saw Kate at her kids’ practice, we saw Kate at the farmer’s market!” Pics or it didn’t happen (and even then, the pics might be faked).

Elisabeth Moss, Kate Hudson Sci-Fi Satire

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Editor’s Note: This review was originally published during the 2024 Toronto Film Festival. Republic Pictures releases “Shell” in select theaters Friday, October 3.

Some movies suffer because of bad timing. “Shell” wouldn’t be a very good movie under any circumstances, but it fares especially poorly against Coralie Fargeat’s “The Substance,” a better and more outrageous film that deals in very similar subject matter. “Outrageous” is what director Max Minghella is going for here. And when it accepts its destiny as a ‘50s-style rubber-suit sci-fi monster movie, “Shell” does have camp value to it. Even then, it still doesn’t commit to the bit hard enough to make it successful.

Monster: The Ed Gein Story stars Charlie Hunnam as the actor playing Ed Gein, shown here smiling in the dark with his hand above his face

There are some funny moments in “Shell” — both intentional and unintentional — and some eye-catching images. The first living creature to appear on screen is a fluffy lap dog smeared with blood, which combines the two; it trots down a dark hallway in an ‘80s-style mansion, its little legs moving as fast as they can. The camera follows the dog into a retro tiled bathroom, where Elizabeth Berkley is sitting in a shell-pink bathtub wearing a matching silk robe cutting grotesque black bumps off of her leg. She’s freaking out. The tub is slippery with blood. She passes out and drops the knife, and the dog starts licking it clean.

It’s a promising cold open, one that leads into an uneasy blend of attempted pathos and tired entertainment-industry satire as Samantha (Elisabeth Moss) goes out for what she thinks is a meeting with the director of one of the downbeat indie movies Moss sometimes stars in in real life. It turns out to be an open audition, and Samantha loses the role — a divorced single mother of two — to “it” girl Chloe Benson (Kaia Gerber). Chloe is barely old enough to drink, let alone have two kids, but she’s hot and popular on social media so there you go. The experience leads Samantha’s reps (one of whom is played by Ziwe, perfectly cast) to suggest, their voices thick with smarmy faux-concern, that she go rest at the Shell clinic for a while.

CEO Zoe Shannon (Kate Hudson) is the face of Shell, a company whose services blend elements of “Death Becomes Her” and “The Lobster.” In a spa-like atmosphere, people like Samantha can stave off their fear of irrelevance by undergoing an outpatient procedure where their DNA is fused with the DNA of a lobster, or something, resulting in a younger, stronger, taller version of themselves with clear skin and bright eyes. A lot is explained, but none of it sticks. The only things that land are the cutting jokes, which, again, are nothing new — did you know Los Angeles is a shallow and insincere place? — but get some chuckles in the moment.

The satire here is clumsy, gesturing at similar points already made in better movies. There’s a rule in comedy that if you have to explain a joke, it’s not a very good joke, and a similar sort of ambiguity is at play here. It’s not always clear if, say, a montage set to “Walkin’ on Sunshine” after her Shell treatment improves Samantha’s life is a tongue-in-cheek parody of cheesy ‘80s movies, or if it’s just plain cheesy itself. This all ties into the camp factor, which could also be used to explain away hacky details like Samantha’s cat as a stand-in for her spinsterhood. Hypothetically.

“Shell” also fancies itself body horror, but again it doesn’t commit hard enough to truly excel in that area. Samantha barfs up some black bile, and Zoe’s sycophants eat her skin at a dinner party in a bit that briefly frames her as a Christ figure but doesn’t go anywhere. Then there are the bumps that pop up when the procedure “goes wrong,” which are referred to in the film as “scales” but are more like the kind of lumpy mole that would prompt a visit to the dermatologist. A whole rash of them is pretty gross, but not as gross as it needs to be. Where’s the goop?

Mysterious pink liquids are injected into willing subjects from unlabeled vials at the Shell clinic, again shades of “The Substance.” Even the surface aesthetics of the films are similar: Both have an eye for ‘80s-inspired fashions and architecture, which manifests here in the form of silver lamé and curved lines. The heightened reality of this film is not as well constructed, however, and with much less intentionality: The self-driving cars that appear in the background throughout the film, for example, serve no particular purpose except to shore up its sci-fi credentials.

Everyone in “Shell” lives in this reality except for schlumpy everywoman Moss, who feels like she’s about a half-step off from everyone else. That’s not a failure on the part of the actor, who has proven herself more than capable many times over. It is indicative of the overall clumsiness of the project, whose lack of consistency is present even in little details like that fact that some of the magazines in the film are real (Samantha is profiled in “Vanity Fair”) and others are not (ditto for Zoe in “Persons”).

Hudson, meanwhile, does understand the tone Minghella is aiming for here, or is perhaps setting it herself. Her motivations for striking up a friendship with Samantha are inscrutable and predatory, and she plays the chilly villainess with relish as she struts around in fabulous gowns and purrs out pseudo-scientific bullshit. (There’s also the potential for a lesbian subtext to her relationship with Moss, but this is sadly underdeveloped.) Her perfection is supposed to make her hateable, and Moss’ imperfection is similarly meant to frame her as relatable. But pulling off that dynamic in a movie that also has human-sized crustaceans in it is a project for a more skilled filmmaker than this one.

Grade: C

“Shell” premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival. Republic Pictures releases the film Friday, October 3, 2025.

bitchy | Did Princess Kate wear a grey suit on purpose, as a reference to Prince Harry?

by jummy84 October 4, 2025

Yesterday, Commodore Keen wore a grey Bella Freud suit to an RAF base. The Princess of Wales was appointed the Royal Honorary Air Commodore in 2023, and this was her first-ever trip to RAF Coningsby. I’ve included more photos of her visit in this post. Anyway, I didn’t have much to say about Kate’s suit yesterday. It was fine – appropriate, sedate, professional. If I have one criticism, it’s that Kate actually needs more of a flared or straight legged trouser – the subtle taper of the trousers is unflattering, imo.

Well, it didn’t even occur to me yesterday that Kate was actually sending a “message” by wearing a grey suit. Where else have we seen “grey suit” written and discussed ad nauseum in the past week? That’s right, Prince Harry’s clapback on the Sun. Harry didn’t actually say “the men in grey suits,” but he referenced nefarious people behind the scenes who are trying to sabotage his reconciliation with his father. Diana was the one (I think) who coined “the men in grey” term in reference to her biggest opps, the palace courtiers. Diana’s youngest definitely shares her hatred for these shady figures pulling the strings and manipulating the Windsors. So… Kate’s message is that she can wear a grey suit as well! She’s one of the shady courtiers turning father against son and brother against brother! Honestly… that’s on brand for Kate. We’re long past the Linchpin Era, when Kate tried to convince everyone that she alone could repair royal relations. She’s in her Men In Grey era now.

During this visit, Kate also “revealed” that Louis wants to become a fighter pilot. When she next visits a garden, she’ll say Louis wants to be a gardener. When she next visits a mill, she’ll say Louis wants to work in fashion.
