Miss Mexico is crowned Miss Universe at a pageant where she stood up to a host’s bullying

BANGKOK — Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2025 on Friday, a dramatic victory for a 25-year-old at the center of the turbulent 74th staging of the popular beauty pageant in Bangkok who stood up to public bullying from one of the hosts.

The first runner-up was 29-year old Praveenar Singh of Thailand and 25-year-old Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser of Venezuela placed third.

Rounding up the finishers were Ahtisa Manalo, 28, of the Philippines, and 27-year-old Olivia Yacé of Ivory Coast who came fifth.

The bad vibes at this year’s event sprang from a sharp-tongued scolding of the Mexican contestant, Bosch, which sparked a controversy marked by a walkout, feminist solidarity and a teary melodramatic apology from the local organizer who set it all off.

At the livestreamed sashing ceremony for virtually all 130 contestants on Nov. 4, Thai national director Nawat Itsaragrisil hectored Bosch for allegedly not following his guidelines for taking part in local promotional activities. He called security when she spoke up to defend herself.

Bosch walked out of the room, joined by several others in a show of solidarity, including Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark.

“What your director did is not respectful: he called me dumb,” an unbowed Bosch told Thai reporters. “If it takes away your dignity, you need to go.”

The Miss Universe Organization president, Mexican businessman Raúl Rocha Cantú, released a statement condemning Nawat’s conduct as “public aggression” and “serious abuse.”

Even Mexico’s first woman president, Claudia Sheinbaum, piled on, saying at a news conference in her country’s capital that she wanted to give “recognition” to Miss Mexico for voicing her disagreement in a “dignified” way.

“It seems to me that it is an example of how women should raise our voices,” Sheinbaum said.

Sheinbaum recalled being told in the past a common phrase that “women look more beautiful when they keep quiet.”

“We women look more beautiful when we raise our voice and participate, because that has to do with the recognition of our rights,” she said.

Nawat later made apologies for his actions, appearing both tearful and defiant at the same time .

“If anyone affected and not comfortable it happened, I am so sorry,” he said in front of the contestants. He then turned to them and said “It’s passed. OK? Are you happy?”

Bosch’s official Miss Universe biography says she studied fashion in Mexico and Italy and has focused on creating sustainable designs and working with discarded materials. It says she has volunteered with sick children, promoted environmental awareness, and engaged in supported migrants and mental health issues.

This year’s competition also saw a report that two judges had quit, with one of them suggesting that there was an element of rigging to the contest. The allegation was denied. Separately, Thai police investigated the alleged illegal promotion of online casinos as part of the event’s publicity, a turn of events that may have been connected with the organizers’ feud.

Mishaps and controversies are not rare for the pageant. The 2021 event attracted criticism because it was held in Israel, to the dismay of supporters of the Palestinian cause.

An example of a minor misstep — literally — occurred Wednesday when Miss Universe Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry, fell off the stage during the evening gown competition. She was not badly hurt.

Martin Scorsese Hosts Homebound Screening in New York for Neeraj Ghaywan

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Filmmaker and Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese recently hosted a grand screening of Neeraj Ghaywan’s latest film Homebound in New York. The event was followed by an engaging discussion between Scorsese and Ghaywan, drawing applause from the audience for the film’s emotional storytelling and cinematic depth.
Homebound, which earlier premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, has now earned the honour of being selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars 2025 in the Best International Feature Film category. The story follows two close friends, Shoaib and Chandan, navigating the struggles of lockdown life and friendship during the pandemic.
Ahead of the screening, Scorsese was seen sharing light-hearted moments with the film’s cast, Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, who portray the two leads. Photos from the event, shared by Dharma Productions, show the team celebrating their global success alongside Scorsese. The studio called it “a night to remember”

Director Neeraj Ghaywan expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt post on social media. He wrote, “I was obviously nervous and sweating about doing a QnA with the master. Mr. Scorsese saw that in the green room. He narrated a funny anecdote about how he was mistaken by the cops to be the hillside strangler. He did that because he wanted to calm me down without even me being aware of it. That’s the generous selfless master that he is. I don’t know what future holds for this film but this right here is the biggest award for me.”

Sitting across from him is the highest point in my career in cinema. Mr. Martin Scorsese, the EP on #Homebound hosted a screening and did a QnA with me in NYC!

The event also saw the presence of Mira Nair and Siddharth, who attended to show their support for the film’s Oscar journey. With global appreciation growing, Homebound continues to make India proud by telling a deeply personal yet universal story of connection, loss, and hope.

SNL Hosts NYC Mayoral Debate With Miles Teller, Ramy Youssef, Shane Gillis

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Saturday Night Live kicked off its cold open with a mock New York City mayoral debate that was crashed by President Donald Trump.

Miles Teller, who served as the night’s host, portrayed candidate and former New York governor Andrew Cuomo. While introducing himself, Teller’s Cuomo introduced himself as a “born, bred New Yorker” who “knows this city like the back of a woman’s back.”

Special guest Ramy Youssef was next introduced as Zohran Mamdani who said he was “happy to be here, and I’m ready to spend the next hour hearing my opponents pronounce my name in ways you couldn’t begin to imagine.”

“And I know some of you are out there scared of the idea of a young socialist Muslim mayor,” he said, continuing, “So allow me to put you at ease by smiling after every answer in a way that physically hurts my face.”

Finally, Shane Gillis stepped into the role of Curtis Sliwa, which led them into the crux of the debate. The faux candidates answered various questions, including why they would “want the worst job in the world,” their go-to bagel orders and what they’d say to “undecided voters.”

Towards the end of their debate, James Austin Johnson’s Trump made his grand appearance when the candidates where asked what the “biggest problem” they’d have to tackle as mayor, where he joked that he might as well become the next mayor of New York.

“It’s me!” Johnson’s Trump exclaimed. “Yes, they can pretend this election is about housing and taxes, but we all know it’s about me, right? ‘Cause I’m gonna be very involved, very hands on. This guy knows about hands on, right, Cuomo?”

Johnson’s Trump even answered Kenan Thompson’s (who portrayed the debate moderator) question about their go-to bagel orders, which he said is a “Big Mac with a hole in the middle,” to which he went on to reference his tenure living in the Big Apple.

“And I may not live in New York anymore. Oh, but I’m always watching, lurking in the shadows, much like the late, great Phantom of the Opera,” he said. “Terrible what happened to him in terms of opera, with regard to being burned by chandelier. Perhaps I’ll add New York Mayor to my list of duties.

“Come on, open up your mind. Let your fantasies unwind in this darkness which you know. The darkness of the music of the night,” Johnson’s Trump sang to close out the cold open.

In the Eternity star’s opening monologue, he notably spoke about losing his home in the Los Angeles wildfires at the beginning of the year.

“A lot has happened since the last time that I hosted [SNL],” Teller said. “A few months ago, my wife and I lost our house in the Palisades fire. But don’t worry, seriously, do not worry, we’re doing great.”

“But that experience has made me incredibly grateful to have so many places that I can call home,” he added. “But based on what happened to the last place that I called home, I just want to say, there’s fire exits located there, there, there,” he said while pointing to differing spots in the studio.

Saturday night marked the second time Teller has served as an SNL host, where he was joined by Brandi Carlile as musical guest. His most recent appearance on the late night show was on Oct. 1, 2022, making it exactly three years and one month since his debut on the series.

Later in the night, Teller impersonated Jonathan and Drew Scott of the Property Brothers, in a pre-taped spoof that touched on the real-life demolition of the White House’s East Wing. There, they renovated the landmark and created a brand new ballroom.

“This week, we’re taking on our biggest challenge yet: building the new White House ballroom,” he said. “Donald and Melania moved into this house nine years ago. They were evicted for four years, but they moved back in. Donald has a strong eye for interior design.”

Teller’s Property Brothers took the audience around the White House in the bit, where a string of Halloween decorations put up by Melania Trump (played by Chloe Fineman) were shown. “Those are for Christmas,” Fineman’s Melania asserted.

They clarified if Trump had a budget for the renovation, to which he responded, between $350 million and infinity.”

“It will be ready just in time for my third term,” Johnson’s Trump said of the addition to the White House, to which Fineman’s Melania responsed, “That’s right! We want this to be our forever home.”

“Yes, because we’re not leaving,” Johnson’s Trump continued. “We’re going to be doing something called coup.”

The bit ended with Teller’s Property Brothers asking for their payment. “Aren’t you guys from Canada? Johnson’s Trump asked before calling in ICE to end the sketch.

The Top Gun: Maverick star was the fourth host of season 51. He’ll be followed by Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell as the next string of hosts in the next coming weeks. Sombr and Olivia Dean will join as musical guests on Nov. 8 and 15, respectively. Earlier this season, Bad Bunny, Amy Poehler and Sabrina Carpenter took turns as hosts.

More to come.

The Great Mancunian Lunch, an exclusive charity event created by Moya Cole Hospice, in partnership with the Taylor Lynn Corporation and hosted by Emma Neville, to raise funds for the new Moya Cole Hospice that took place last Thursday.

Victoria Warehouse housed the lunch, which indulged guests with a delectable three-course meal, outstanding performances from musicians from Chetham’s School of Music to create an uplifting afternoon of creativity and entertainment.

The event was certainly the standout moment in the autumn calendar and those in attendance were part of something truly meaningful and magnificently Mancunian as they supported the future of Moya Cole Hospice with its new state-of-the-art building in Heald Green.

The aim of the Great Mancunian Lunch was to fundraise for the Being You Centre at the new Moya Cole Hospice. Construction of the new hospice started in June of last year with the aim of opening in early 2026. A total of £40,000 was raised at the lunch thanks to all who supported the outing.

Host of the Great Mancunian Lunch, Emma Neville said the afternoon provided an opportunity to make an impact on the lives of the people of Manchester impacted by life-limiting illnesses.

“We have a chance to make a difference for those who are facing some of the toughest challenges of their lives, bringing them greater comfort, care and dignity.” Emma said.

“It was wonderful to welcome everyone to the event. By coming together at the lunch, we were able to raise funds to go towards a consultation room at the hospice that will provide a calm, comfortable, and welcoming place for counselling, complementary therapies, and other wellbeing support for the people of Manchester and their families.”

Liz Taylor, Founder of Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC), who organised the event said…

“I’m thrilled to be part of The Great Mancunian Lunch and to support the incredible work of Moya Cole Hospice as they create their new state-of-the-art building in Heald Green. It’s always inspiring to collaborate with such passionate people — Emma Neville, Truth Creative, and Chetham’s School of Music — all coming together to celebrate Manchester’s spirit while supporting such a vital cause.”

Head of Fundraising and Capital Campaign at Moya Cole Hospice, Anne-Marie Wynne says the support of all those at the Great Mancunian Lunch is “vital” for the future of the hospice.

“On behalf of Moya Cole Hospice, I would like to send Emma Neville a massive thank you for hosting the event. We stand together with her in our commitment to championing the importance of both physical and emotional wellbeing, and we are so grateful for her support to raise funds for our Being You Centre at our new hospice,” Anne-Marie said.

“Once again, the Taylor Lynn Corporation is supporting Moya Cole Hospice with the Great Mancunian Lunch. It is through their support in organising events that we at Moya Cole Hospice can fund the construction of our new building in Heald Green.”

Entertainment throughout the afternoon was provided by talented musicians from Chetham’s School of Music, bringing upbeat musical delight, showcasing some of Manchester’s finest talent.

The fundraising included a silent auction with the chance to bid on some incredible lots including a signed Courteeners guitar and four VIP concert tickets and stunning original artwork by acclaimed contemporary artist Aiden Phelan from the “George Best: 20 Years of Immortal Legacy” series. Aiden and George’s son Calum Best attended the lunch and kindly donated the artwork.

The dress code for the outing was smart chic in black and yellow. Those in attendance came dressed to impress with a stylish nod to the lunch theme of Manchester.

There was also an after-lunch party where the music continued in an exclusive bar area. DJ Six kept the party alive while street food was served later in the evening.

Moya Cole Hospice would like to thank all those who supported and attended the event which led to the vital fundraising towards the brand-new state-of-the-art facility in Heald Green.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to Exit

by jummy84 October 23, 2025
written by jummy84

“Strictly Come Dancing” presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have announced their departure from the BBC series.

In a video posted to both their Instagram accounts, the pair revealed they had made the joint decision to leave the show. “There have been some rumblings, and we want you to hear this from us,” Winkleman began. “After 21 wonderfully joyful years on ‘Strictly,’ we have decided that the time is right to step aside and pass on the baton,” Daly continued.

Daly has presented the dance competition series since its start in 2004, whereas Winkleman joined as her co-host in 2014 when Sir Bruce Forsyth left the show.

“We have loved working as a duo and hosting ‘Strictly’ has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time,” they continued in the video’s caption. “We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last ‘keep dancing’ but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza.”

Daly added in her own statement on Instagram: “This isn’t a goodbye to glitter, sequins or Saturday night sparkle (I could never say goodbye to those!). ‘Strictly’ will forever hold a special place in my heart — but it does feel like the right time to hand over the reins.”

The 23rd season of “Strictly Come Dancing” is currently airing on the BBC, with its finale set for Dec. 20. Daly and Winkleman will continue to host the show through the end of this season, and then the hunt will be on for the BBC to find new presenters.

“I’ve always believed it’s best to leave a party before you’re fully ready to go and I know the new hosts will be magnificent, I look forward to watching them take ‘Strictly’ to new heights,” Winkleman added in a separate post. “As for Tess — I’m so so lucky I got to stand next to you. You’re funny, kind, whip smart and a true friend and I love you.”

‘SNL’ Domingo Skit Returns While Sabrina Carpenter Hosts

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

Sabrina Carpenter‘s Saturday Night Live hosting debut kicked off with a fun callback to none other than the viral Domingo skit — with a modern pop twist.

The “Manchild” singer returned to the late night show on Saturday, where she doubled up as the night’s host and musical guest. The cold open kicked off with another homecoming of Chloe Fineman‘s Kelsey character and her group of best friends, including Carpenter.

True to the original skit, Kelsey’s girl squad recounted their Nashville night out in front of her husband Matt (Andrew Dismukes) in full song form, set to the tune of some of the most popular modern tracks. They recalled their festivities by singing along to the backtrack of Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” and Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra,” before Marcello Hernández‘s beloved Domingo character made his grand entrance (and return) to profess his love to Fineman’s Kelsey, set to Alex Warren’s track “Ordinary.”

The original Domingo skit instantly went viral, originally featuring Carpenter’s “Espresso” as Kelsey’s bridesmaids confessed that she had cheated on her husband-to-be with Domingo. The Grammy winner wasn’t actually featured in the original bit, though fellow pop star Ariana Grande was. (Carpenter did star in the SNL 50 Domingo sequel, though.)

Later in Carpenter’s opening monologue, she lightly addressed the controversy surrounding the cover art for her latest album, Man’s Best Friend. Pointing back to her last appearance on the show during SNL 50, she noted that “since then, my new album Man’s Best Friend came out, which I’m so excited about. But some people got a little freaked out by the cover.”

“I’m not sure why. It was just this: me on all fours with an unseen figure pulling my hair. But what people don’t realize is, that’s just how they cropped it. If you zoom out, it’s clearly a picture from the 50th anniversary special of Bowen helping me up by the hair,” she said, as the shot of the album cover zoomed out, continuing, “After Martin Short shoved me out of the buffet line.”

The “Bed Chem” singer used the rest of her monologue to “clear up some misconceptions people have about me,” joking that “everyone thinks of me as this horndog pop star, but there’s really so much more to me.”

“I’m not just horny, I’m also turned on, and I’m sexually charged. And I love to read. My favorite book is the encyclopedia. It’s so big and it’s hard…” she said, before continuing, “There is a real person underneath all the sparkles and the wigs and the corsets, and another thing you might not know about me is that I love to interact with the audience during my show, so I’d like to do that right now.”

She went on to touch base with a few audience members before returning to the stage, where she continued another one of her concert traditions: “The last fun thing I like to do at my concerts is arrest someone for being hot. So, who here can I arrest tonight?”

Kenan Thompson then hit the stage, where he joked that he was arresting the singer “for falsely impersonating an officer 200 times at your concerts. And you’re arresting innocent hot people.”

Saturday night marked Carpenter’s first SNL hosting gig, while it was the second time she served as the night’s musical guest. She, too, notably performed a rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound” alongside Paul Simon at the 50th anniversary special.

Ahead of the show, Bowen Yang took to his Instagram Stories to note that he was missing the taping. The Wicked star skipped episode three to attend the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, where he was honored with the Vantage Award.

The “Espresso” singer served as the third overall host of season 51, following in the footsteps of Bad Bunny and Amy Poehler. Earlier this week, the next wave of SNL guests were announced. Miles Teller will host on Nov. 1, while Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell are set to make their hosting debuts on the Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 shows, respectively.

Last Saturday’s show was full of star-studded cameos, as former cast member Poehler brought back fellow SNL alumni Tina Fey and Seth Meyers throughout the episode. Fey also made a cameo to impersonate Kristi Noem in the cold open, while Poehler portrayed Pam Bondi.

JAY-Z Hosts Star-Studded Party For Grandmother’s 100th Birthday

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

JAY-Z celebrated his grandmother Hattie White’s 100th birthday in a major way. The rapper gathered friends, family, and A-list celebrities for the high-class affair. Clips and videos shared across social media highlight Grandma Hattie’s kind words, a lavish birthday cake, and a special performance from Stevie Wonder. Additional attendees included, of course, Beyoncé, as well as Megan Thee Stallion, Klay Thompson, Nas, Chris Martin, Tina Knowles, and many more.

“I want to thank you for coming out and celebrating my 100th birthday,” shared the centenarian. As she spoke, the Brooklyn rapper stood proudly by her side. A glamorous, seven-tier, metallic gold cake sweetened the milestone moment.

“May God bless all of y’all who have traveled the road that I have traveled,” she continued.

In an Instagram post uploaded by Queen Bey gave fans a closer look inside the affair. Set to Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition,” the rapid slideshow shared images of Beyoncé in a fitted, black gown with velvet detailing, with a fur coat from Black designer Tiara Peach of FGM Bespoke, styled by Ty Hunter.

The Grammy-winner also shared fun pictures of card tables, her and JAY-Z enjoying a little PDA, the woman of the hour, her children dancing, and Stevie Wonder on stage.

Bey Hive fans will recognize White as one of the voices in Beyoncé’s acclaimed Lemonade. At the end of the defiant “Freedom,” the elder proclaimed, “I had my ups and downs, but I always find the inner strength to pull myself up. I was served lemons, but I made lemonade.”

Additional posts from Mama Tina revealed video footage of the special performance.

“Stevie said ‘ Happy Birthday to Ms Hattie White’ The mayor of Brooklyn declared Sunday Ms. Hattie White Day!” exclaimed the Knowles family matriarch on Instagram. “The elegant , classy , beautiful lady turned 100 and was celebrated by her family and friends at a party , fit for the Queen she is!!! Stevie Wonder , one of her favorite artist paid tribute to her with her own private concert!!! Stevie reminded us of the many hits that he’s made!!! We danced the night away.”

“Those Carters know how to party!!!!!!!!!” she added.

A second upload featured her singing along.

She added, “Jamming to Stevie Wonder and Golden Lady ! Ms Hattie White was The Golden Lady of the night . We were celebrating her 100th birthday.. and what a glorious human being she is. I can hear her famous quote ‘life gave me lemons and I made lemonade!’ Jay you showed out for your grandma and she deserved every moment of it!”

In 2018, Hov dedicated a bench in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park to his grandmother.

“She’s so full of life, and Hattie White, amongst other accomplishments of being super great and tough, she raised seven kids in one little walk-up in Brooklyn,” shared the Hip-Hop icon in 2019 while accepting the NAACP President’s Award.

“On top of that, her kids had kids, and we were all raised in the same house. One household. So I was speaking to her the other day, and I asked her, ‘How much money did you make?’  and she made $20 a week, and she said, ‘No, but it’s fine. You could do a lot with $20 in those days.’ And with that sort of attitude, that’s how I grew up.”

The Venice Film Festival spotlighted women in cinema with Reel Women, a late-night celebration hosted by filmmaker, actress, and producer Maria Soccor at the Campari Lounge. Beginning at 10 p.m., the private event drew a mix of filmmakers, producers, actors, and industry executives in support of female-driven storytelling during one of the year’s most influential gatherings.

Soccor, known for her award-winning films and advocacy for underrepresented voices, has built her reputation as a festival presence, often moderating panels and mentoring emerging talent. With Reel Women, she expanded her mission in Venice, fostering dialogue and recognition for women shaping the film landscape.

Maria Soccor

The guest list reflected the festival’s global reach. Jared Harris attended with his wife Allegra as his new film House of Dynamite premiered at Venice to early acclaim. Other notable attendees included producer Debra Gainor of Producers Without Borders, actress Agathe Levi, producer Vicktoria Silmara Turmina of Mindgate Motion Pictures, Jojo Dye of The Members Club and Producers Without Borders, publicist Jane Owen of Jane Owen Public Relations, Ann Hafström of the Creative Lifestyle Agency, actress Tora Kim, and models Gillian Nation and Tia Goossen.

Maria Soccor

As the oldest international film festival, founded in 1932, Venice has remained a launchpad for cinema’s most significant works, ranking alongside Cannes and Berlin as one of Europe’s premier showcases. This year’s addition of Reel Women emphasized the importance of elevating female creators both in front of and behind the camera.

The evening was presented by Campari in partnership with Maria Soccor Productions Inc. and Jane Owen Public Relations. Guests enjoyed signature Campari cocktails, appetizers, and refreshments throughout the night. “Venice has long been a platform for extraordinary storytelling, and REEL WOMEN was a chance to gather in recognition of the incredible female talent shaping the industry today,” said Soccor.

By invitation only, the gathering underscored Campari and its partners’ commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and future voices in film. The Campari Lounge buzzed late into the night with the energy of collaboration and conversation that defines Venice’s most exciting week.

Is Late-Night TV Dying? The State of All Hosts and Shows in 2025 – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 19, 2025
written by jummy84

The summer of 2025 became a nightmare for late-night television hosts. CBS made the shocking decision to cancel Stephen Colbert‘s The Late Show. Next was ABC; it suspended Jimmy Kimmel over a Charlie Kirk-related “MAGA” comment. With fictional series like HBO’s Hacks showcasing the pressures of the late-night comedy world, viewers are asking if the long-running staple might be dying in reality. After all, streaming shows and social media have become the norm, so cable networks may be tightening their wallets.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert — Ending

CBS announced in July 2025 that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end in May 2026. Network executives cited finances as the reason behind the cancelation.

“We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise in May of 2026,” CBS said in a statement. “We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television. This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”

Two months later, Colbert and his staff took home the Emmy Award for best talk series.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! — Suspended

An ABC spokesperson revealed in a brief statement that Jimmy Kimmel Live! “will be pre-empted indefinitely.” The announcement came shortly after the comedian said, “The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

In response to Kimmel’s comment, Brendan Carr, the head of the Federal Communications Commission, criticized Kimmel on Benny Johnson’s show and threatened to “do this the easy way or the hard way,” according to multiple outlets.

Not a big fan of Jimmy Kimmel, but if you think his show should be canceled for this, you’re a hack and a total fraud who should never pretend to care about free speech pic.twitter.com/FSiktbva6y

— Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) September 17, 2025

“This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney. We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “Disney needs to see some change here, but the individual licensed stations that are taking their content, it’s time for them to step up and say this, you know, garbage to the extent that that’s what comes down the pipe in the future isn’t something that we think serves the needs of our local communities. … There’s calls for Kimmel to be fired. I think you could certainly see a path forward for suspension over this.”

Nexstar, an ABC-affiliated station, said it would not broadcast Kimmel’s show for the “foreseeable future,” adding that it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — Still on the Air

Jimmy Fallon‘s late-night show has not faced an outstanding problem from NBC yet. However, Donald Trump has called for his cancelation in addition to other comedians.

Late Night with Seth Meyers — Still on the Air

Seth Meyers has not had an outward issue with his network, NBC.

After Midnight — Canceled

The CBS Taylor Tomlinson–hosted show ended after two seasons in June 2025. Tomlinson chose to resume her stand-up career after leaving the show on her own accord.

Real Time with Bill Maher — Still on the Air

HBO’s Bill Maher has not publicly stated any imminent doom with his show.

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen — Still on the Air

Drake’s Better World Fragrance House Hosts NYFW Event: Photos

New York Fashion Week is in full swing and Better World Fragrance House kicked the eventful week off by celebrating one of the hottest new scents on the market. BWFH — the fragrance brand led by Drake, Michael Carby, and Givaudan — hosted an immersive experience last night (Sept. 11) in celebration of their Summer Mink Eau de Parfum.

The exclusive event aimed to bring the fragrance’s story to life through “curated design, sensory moments, and storytelling.” Held on Sept. 10 at Storied NYC, the stunning evening of scent discovery boasted a guestlist full of the city’s tastemakers and parfum lovers, artfully curated photo moments, music, custom cocktails, and elegant light bites. Each guest was transported to an other-worldly atmosphere that allowed them to indulge in all things “Summer Mink,” and everyone was also gifted a travel spray with a custom embossed case to remember the evening.

Those who were in attendance to enjoy the installations included perfumer and creator of Summer Mink Michael Carby and Givaudan, influencer and model Sonia Tucker, NBA players Miles McBride and Patrick Beverly, rapper Dreezy, actress Beverly Naya, and plenty more.

Summer Mink is described as “a universal fragrance inspired by the beauty of juxtaposition. It embodies the unexpected — the indulgence of wearing mink in the summer, defying conventions of seasonality and gender while embracing bold sophistication.” Per Better World’s site, Drake’s relationship to scent “is deeply personal,” and he has worked over the last few years to “develop distinctive scents to curate and improve space.” His vision was brought to life with the help of working with leading perfumer, Michael Carby, and Givaudan, a leader in the fragrance industry. Attendees stepped out in their best NYFW ensembles to match the unique elegance of the evening. View highlights from the event and top looks from guests below.
