News Footage Shows Inside Of Home Where Derrick Groves Was Found & Neighbor’s Reaction

On Thursday, October 9, Fox 8 published footage showing an inside look at the home where Derrick Groves, a man who escaped from a New Orleans jail alongside nine others in May, was found hiding out. Per the outlet, the house’s owner, Richard McQueen, granted reporters access to the “ransacked” space.

Furthermore, additional footage showed that the outlet’s reporter, Gabby Killett, spoke with McQueen as he walked her through the property. He reportedly explained that he rented the home to a young woman; however, he apparently didn’t obtain too much information regarding her background.

Meanwhile, when Killett spoke to a neighbor, apparently living across the street from McQueen’s home, she didn’t hold back on her humorous reaction to the whole ordeal.

More On Derrick Groves & His Escape From A New Orleans Jail

As The Shade Room previously reported, in May, Derrick Groves escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center alongside nine others. At the time, it was reported that the group did so by removing a toilet from a wall, reportedly being aided by the center’s failing locks.

The ninth out of the total inmates, Antoine Massey, was captured in June, as previously reported by The Shade Room. Derrick Groves, however, remained MIA until October 8. As The Shade Room previously reported, a tip pointed to Groves hiding out in an Atlanta home. The city’s SWAT team then raided the home and used gas and K-9s to smoke Groves out.

Now, Fox 8 reports that investigators are searching for those who aided Groves with his evasion.

“We know that Groves was not able to be out there for as long as he was without assistance from others,” New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick reportedly told the outlet. “It’s still an open investigation in terms of those who did help because it is a crime to aid and abet. There are people of interest, and it will be followed through with people charged.”

Meanwhile, Derrick Groves has been extradited to Louisiana, but he was booked into the Louisiana State Penitentiary, a maximum-security jail.

All 10 Orleans Parish escapees are back in Louisiana.

There were many charming things about the house (front porch, wood-burning fireplace). There were also many not-so-charming things (veneer wood, spotty landscaping). So they got to work. They repainted the walls but didn’t mask all the old chips, which Kendall argues gives the house character: “People might’ve dinged their surfboard as they’re coming through,” she says, waving her hands. “We want it to feel like it’s in California.” They raised the ceiling, replaced the floors, and sourced furniture from anywhere and everywhere—from Indonesia to Greece, France to Facebook Marketplace. And slowly but surely, they made the home their own.

Ben and Kendall designed their own outdoor furniture. They found the cabinent, meanwhile, on Facebook marketplace.

“In my mind, it’s part French maison, but then also a little beach shack,” Kendall says of her home as I sit at her weathered wood dining table. She’s made breakfast: yogurt and granola, cold brew coffee with oat milk, fresh strawberries and croissants from Gjelina. Everything goes right on the wood. Kendall, I soon learn, is very anti-coaster: “We don’t put coasters down because I want to be able to see who’s been here before. And the table wants to remember the people that it’s helped share conversations. So the more rings, the better,” she says.

Dancing with the Stars Week 4: Who Went Home

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

After last week’s rather awkward tribute to TikTok, Dancing with the Stars returned to familiar ground Tuesday with its popular Disney Night. After a Mandy Moore-choreographed opener to “Be My Guest,” the duos opened their rehearsal packages with corny stand-ups from Disneyland to help celebrate the park’s 70th year in Anaheim.

But if you really want to talk about the Happiest Place on Earth right now, it’s gotta be the DWTS ballroom. The ABC show once again shattered voting records last week, much to the despair of poor Lauren Jauregui who unexpectedly got the boot. Most viewers thought it was Andy Richter’s time to go, but the Fifth Harmony crooner went home, instead.

Is it Richter’s turn tonight?

Comedian Andy Richter with partner Emma Slater. Richter was the cook to Slater’s rat for their unremarkable Viennese waltz to a tune from Ratatouille. It was far from a chef’s kiss but Richter is downright adorable when owning his mediocrity. “Andy, you produce such memorable moments,” said Carrie Ann Inaba. “We are, though, at week 4 … we’re gonna be looking for more content. I want you to challenge yourself more.” SCORE: 18 out of 30

Danielle Fishel (Boy Meets World) with Pasha Pashkov. Fishel vowed to go all out this week with her Jungle Book themed-quickstep to “I Wanna Be Like You,” but she still got dinged by Bruno Tonioli for failing to keep the beat. “Once you went into the quickstep was very very good but you were off timing, my darling,” he said. SCORE: 21 out of 30

Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying with Rylee Arnold. Hoying feels like he has finally “broken out of his shell” but his slightly-better-than-average salsa didn’t quite have the same wow factor as last week’s jazz performance. Making matters worse, he had to do it to “Bop to the Top” from High School Musical, which is about as Cuban as the white-bread characters who performed it in the 2006 TV movie. The judges cut him a break, though. “That’s what happens with the confidence kicks in,” said Inaba. “You razzle-dazzled with that salsa.” SCORE: 21 out of 30

ANDY RICHTER, EMMA SLATER (Disneyland Resort, Sean Teegarden)

Wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin with Witney Carson. Irwin has a funny habit of either mouthing words or chewing on air when dancing, but that’s small note for his otherwise splendid cha cha to the way-too-slow “Try Everything” from Zootopia. “You just have that Irwin aura,” said Derek Hough. “You can’t help but smile when watching you perform. Your upper half is so strong.” SCORE: 22 out of 30

Author and influencer Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko. Baldwin’s quickstep to the cantina song from Star Wars was out of this world! Hough argued that her “quickstep” needed more quickstep but his fellow judges disagreed. So did I. “Princess Leia, the force is still with you,” said Tonioli, in reference to her Carrie Fisher-inspired costume. “Whatever you did, worked. I actually watched very, very closely what you did tonight, really analyzing. I was looking for something wrong. I didn’t see it.” SCORE: 23 out of 30

Jen Affleck (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Jan Ravnik. The Mormon mama closed the show with an acrobat-filled jazz routine to a song from Aladdin that truly embodied the Disney theme. And Ravnik makes a terrific genie! Oddly, Inaba wasn’t blown away. “You are living the Disney dream right now. Great performance,” she said. “But something about it didn’t set me over the top. Boo me! I think you need to make it a little more challenging as we move forward.” SCORE: 23 out 30

Reality TV star Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach. Efron’s perky quickstep to the Cars song “Life is a Highway” kept him in the judges’ good graces, who clearly appreciate his good looks and week-to-week growth. “Dylan McQueen, the quickstep king!” said Hough. “So impressed with that left arm, you were keeping that strong all the way through.” SCORE: 23 out of 30

Social media personality Alix Earle with Val Chmerkovskiy. Bravo to Chmerkovskiy, who offered a fresh take on the Cinderella classic “One Upon a Dream” by having Earle dress as Maleficent for their dark and evocative Viennese waltz. “Alix, that was mesmerizing,” said Hough. “It was magical, it was spellbinding … I disagree with Carrie Ann last week. This was your best dance.” SCORE: 24 out of 30

Actor Elaine Hendrix with Alan Bersten. Poor Bersten had his work cut out for him this week, having to choreograph a killer quickstep to the theme song from …. Space Mountain?! But Bersten and the stage managers (who trotted out some bitchen lasers) gave Hendrix the ride of her life. “That was a complicated routine,” said Hough. “You didn’t miss a beat.” SCORE: 24 out of 30

Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles with Ezra Sosa. The gymnast’s quickstep to a spirited tune from The Princess and the Frog had the judges raving about her natural ballroom ability. “This kind of dance is why people love Disney night. You brought it to life. When you dance it’s fun, it’s animated but it’s also authentic.” SCORE: 24 out of 30

MARK BALLAS, WHITNEY LEAVITT (Disney/Christopher Willard)

Whitney Leavitt (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) with Mark Ballas. Look who just became the frontrunner! The duo’s foxtrot to “Room Where it Happens” From Hamilton was an absolute stunner and deserved to close the show (sorry, Affleck). “There is traditional foxtrot and then there is Mark’s foxtrot,” said Inaba. “While I was watching, my lip was quivering. It was so good. The precision, the technicality, the painting of that picture was incredible. Insane.” SCORE: 25 out of 30

Host Alfonso Ribeiro began the eliminations by announcing how the show just exceeded 40 million votes. Yowza!

Bottom three were Richter, Baldwin and Fishel. In another shocker elimination, Baldwin was sent home. The influencer was gracious about her departure, though. No words about feeling pissed from this one!

“This has been an incredible experience,” she said. “I’m so grateful to all of you. And I’m grateful to my children and my family! Thank you guys for this. I’m cheering on everybody in the cast because this has been an amazing time.”

Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh has been in the headlines ever since his second wife, Jyoti Singh spoke up publicly about their divorce. Recently, Jyoti took to her Instagram handle and shared a video wherein she wasn’t allowed inside Pawan’s house and female cops were present to take her to the police station. While her video with the police stopping her is making headlines, her claiming the actor-politician has cheated on her has also made news. Scroll below to know all she said and shared.

Jyoti Singh Claims Pawan Singh Cheated In New Video

In the video – which is now going viral, Jyoti Singh is seen crying as she states that she has been denied entry to Pawan Singh’s house. The police officers present in the video are seen asking her to accompany them to the police station as both parties have filed allegations against each other, amid their ongoing legal battle. In the clip, Jyoti is also seen talking about why she has not filed any domestic violence case.

Jyoti is also seen threathening to consume poison in the presence of the police officers. She’s heard saying, “Aaj main sirf samaj ke kehne par yahan aayi thi, bas yeh din dekhne ke liye. Agar abhi bhi insaaf nahin mila to koi umeed nahin hai. Main ghar mein zehar kha kar mar jaungi; iss ghar se meri laash jaayegi. Yeh last baar hai jo main keh rahi hoon. Main ek shareef ghar ki beti hoon, ek shareef ghar ki bahu hoon. Agar mujhe police station jaana pad raha hai, to main yahin se zehar kha kar nikal lungi. Bas, bohot ho gaya. Insaaf dijiye mujhe.”

During the Instagram Live – which is now posted on her Instagram page, Jyoti Singh also claimed Pawan cheated on her. She’s heard saying, “Yeh samaj ki seva karenge? Yeh Pawan ji seva karenge jo apni patni ko nikalne ke liye police bula rahe hain? Chunav ke dauraan apni patni ka istemal kiya, aur phir doosri ladkiyon ko lekar hotel gaye. Sab poochte the na ki chunav ke baad main kyun aa gayi? Kyunki chunav ke 20 din baad Pawan ji hamare saamne ek ladki ko lekar hotel gaye the. Hum ek patni hoke yeh bardaasht nahin kar sakte the, isiliye hum chale gaye. Aur ab yeh Pawan ji insaaf karenge?”

Pawan-Jyoti Divorce Case

Pawan Singh filed for divorce in the Ara Family Court in 2022 and has reportedly missed several court hearings, which has further disrupted Jyoti’s life. While Jyoti initially demanded Rs 5 lakh in monthly maintenance, she emphasises that more than money or property, she simply wishes to communicate with her husband.

Pawan Singh, who currently features on MX Player’s reality show Rise And Fall, hasn’t responded to his wife’s allegations.

Jaya Bachchan helped kids with cancer, HIV; opened her home to them for Paa screening: Sushant Divgikar slams trolls

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Actor Sushant Divgikar has penned a long note for Jaya Bachchan as a section of people ‘mercilessly troll and verbally abuse’ her. Taking to Instagram, Sushant said that people say “nastiest things” about her. Sushant then shared details of how, over the years, Jaya has extended her help to the visually impaired, autistic, HIV-infected and children diagnosed with cancer.

Sushant Divgikar defended Jaya Bachchan amid trolling.

Sushant Divgikar showers praises Jaya Bachchan

Sushant began their note saying that they wanted to talk about the “reality of Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan Ji.” “I have, as a lot of you that are active on social media may have witnessed, merciless trolling and verbal abuse towards Jaya di! There is this narrative that has been created about her and it’s appalling to see how people that know nothing about her have been so quick to jump on the bandwagon and have said the nastiest things about this lady!” the actor wrote.

Sushant opens up about how Jaya helped kids

The actor recalled that the first time they encountered Jaya was as a 14-year-old child while helping their parents put up the “first ever quiz for visually impaired, blind, hearing impaired children and children with autism in association with a Mumbai-based NGO called DEEDS.” Sushant recalled that their mother tried to connect with celebrities to become the chief guests of the event. They added that in the end, “three wonderful angels” said that “they would he more than happy to come and be with the kids and grace the event, free of cost.”

Sushant added that they were Raveena Tandon, Yuvraj Singh and Jaya. The actor revealed that Jaya kept in touch with their mother and “helped several children in various cities, towns and villages with education, monthly and yearly rations and even helped their families with additional funding for daily needs and essential goods.” Sushant added that in return, Jaya only asked “for the media not to he there.”

Jaya’s sweet gesture for kids

Jaya had even arranged a special screening of Paa, along with Amitabh Bachchan, for kids infected with HIV, “and then another for kids with cancer.” She had even volunteered to open her in-house home theatre to the children and their parents so that they didn’t have to endure potential allergies due to their fragile immunity.

Sushant called Jaya “one of the most splendid artistes of the Indian film industry”, adding that she has been “the reason why so many live and smile.” “Everyone on borrowed time and probably borrowed internet and WIN has an opinion without knowing a person, and here is a person that chooses to quietly change lives and doesn’t even speak about it,” read a part of the actor’s note.

Sharing the post, Sushant captioned the post, “So much going on in the world and yet, we choose to troll someone we know nothing about!! @amitabhbachchan ji @bachchan, pranaam (hello) to Jaya Ji and I toh lovvvve her!! Always told my mumma I wanted to be as graceful and giving as her when I grow up and I hope I can be even a percent of what she has been with her philanthropy!”

Internet reacts to the post supporting Jaya

Reacting to the post, a fan said, ” All she wishes is for Indians to have more respect and civic sense in public settings, which we lack a lot, and her outbursts are basically out of years of seeing things worsen.” A person wrote, “People only judge what they see, not what a person is going through or has gone through.” “We’re in an age where we’re putting an elderly woman on blast for being annoyed at rage-baiting paparazzi and people who get into her personal space,” read a comment.

About Jaya Bachchan

For quite some time now, Jaya has been criticised by a section of the people on social media platforms for her stance on paparazzi, who click pictures, record videos, and follow celebrities at all events. She is often seen schooling the paparazzi.

Jaya was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), directed by Karan Johar. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.

‘Brazil Is Our Second Home’

by jummy84 October 4, 2025
written by jummy84

In an interview with Billboard Brazil, Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and Howie Dorough talk about the 25th-anniversary Into the Millennium tour, their show at The Town, their love for Brazil, the Swedish influence on their sound, and how they survived the changes in the music industry. And they confirm: “Brazil is our second home.”

“Okay, Claudia. Nick and Howie are ready.”

I join the Zoom call with two members of one of the biggest pop acts of the last 30 years: Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and Howie Dorough. When they emerged in 1993, pop music was operating at the highest standards, with Michael Jackson as king and Madonna as queen, while rock was turning toward the underground, with movements like grunge and indie.

In this context, the Backstreet Boys were born.

Facing two members of BSB, the ball was now in my court. Over a 30-minute interview, I would revisit 32 years of a career from one of the groups responsible for redefining 1990s pop, selling 100 million records, and entering the collective consciousness of generations with anthems like “As Long as You Love Me,” “Everybody,” “I Want It That Way” and so many other perfectly melodic songs with lyrics designed to make teenage hearts race.

Before diving into our conversation, a quick note on the group’s sixth visit to Brazil: They headlined The Town festival on the Skyline stage on Sept. 12 in São Paulo. It was the only chance for Brazilian fans to reunite with AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell as part of the Into the Millennium tour — an updated version of the 1999 tour, now celebrating the 25th anniversary of the iconic album Millennium. The celebration includes the release of Millennium 2.0, a special edition with remastered tracks, previously unreleased demos, and live recordings from the historic tour that solidified the group as a global phenomenon.

COME TO BRAZIL

In an exclusive interview with Billboard Brazil, Nick Carter and Howie Dorough appeared smiling and welcoming, speaking to me and Camila Zana, our CMO, from their homes in the United States. My first question was about the Brazilian fandom and our internationally famous phrase, “Come to Brazil!”

“For 20 years, whenever we go to Brazil, we feel at home. We love being there. We always find so much love and support: fans at the airport, at the hotel, in the streets… It’s like we’re a Brazilian pop band! We even thought about moving there because we love it so much. But seriously, your love is incomparable,” Howie says.

Nick adds: “Brazil is always the first to remember us as a group. There was never a weak moment in support, through all the highs and lows of our career. It’s always been consistent: a loyalty that never waned. That’s why we love Brazil so much.”

They say they would visit the country more often if logistics allowed. Even so, the fandom “reaches them” through social media in full force. “Brazil is always on our mind when we do a tour. Sometimes it’s not possible due to costs. But it’s definitely the country that interacts with us the most on social media,” Nick explains.

Howie shares a vivid example of this connection: “I remember fans camping outside Maracanã for days in 2001. It’s something you never forget. Their dedication is incredible. We always sent water, food, made sure they were safe. Their well-being was always our priority.”

BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Just like Disney World, founded in Orlando in 1971, the Backstreet Boys were also conceived in the American capital of family entertainment. Like the world-famous park, the group was designed by a visionary businessman, who assembled the band piece by piece, following a proven formula previously applied to Boston’s boy band New Kids on the Block.

Each member was handpicked, like a character in an amusement park, following stereotypes: the rebel, the romantic, the youngest, etc. The idea was simple and brilliant: create not just a band, but a perfect product to conquer the teen world, especially girls. What began as a calculated experiment eventually became something real, authentic, and surprisingly enduring. This is the story of how an industrial dream became one of the longest-lasting phenomena in music history.

THE MANUFACTURER

The seed of what would become one of the greatest boy bands in history was planted in an unusual way: thanks to an air taxi service. In the early 1990s, businessman Lou Pearlman, owner of an aviation company, counted New Kids on the Block among his clients, a band formed in the mid-1980s.

Witnessing firsthand the fortune such a group could generate inspired Pearlman to start a new business. Determined, he went to Orlando, a city that attracted young talent due to its proliferation of theme parks and studios — the perfect ground to recruit and mold his own stars, and consequently, his gold mine. After numerous auditions with local youths, he selected the quintet that would enter history as the Backstreet Boys, Florida’s answer to New Kids on the Block.

Pearlman conceived the boy band in 1993 and replicated the model with *NSYNC (1995) and Take Five (1997). His career, however, was marked by a fraudulent scheme that deceived investors and artists for years. In 2008, Pearlman was convicted of conspiracy and money laundering, receiving a 25-year prison sentence. He died in 2016 at age 62, ending the life of an entertainment visionary who was also one of the greatest scams in music history.

The weight of the businessman profoundly impacted the Backstreet Boys: years of legal battles to reclaim what was theirs and gain autonomy over their career. Curiously, even as victims of their creator, they became proof that his “formula” could transcend calculation and manipulation. Surviving Pearlman’s empire collapse, the BSB built a story of artistic resilience and genuine connection with their audience.

SWEDES DO IT BETTER

One of the Backstreet Boys’ greatest assets lies in their melodies — easy to remember, hummable, enjoyable, and uplifting. This model could have come from sunny Florida, the boys’ home state. But it didn’t. It came from cold but happy Sweden.

Before diving into this, one must understand a Swedish word that defines the country’s lifestyle: lagom. Its beauty lies in its meaning, which goes beyond a simple translation. Lagom means something like “just the right amount; neither too much nor too little,” or balance, moderation, and appropriateness.

Lagom doesn’t directly apply to music but to a way of life. The concept reflects Swedish culture, which values satisfaction, harmony, and detachment from excess.

The Backstreet Boys’ musical identity was forged in Sweden under legendary producers Max Martin and Denniz Pop. Howie describes the collaboration as “magical.” “I think we captured a moment when music was looking for change. When we started, especially in the U.S., grunge and rap were at their peak,” he explains.

In the early 1990s, Stockholm became a high-level pop production hub, led by Denniz Pop and his protégé Max Martin at Cheiron Studios. They developed a precise formula combining irresistible melodies — inheriting ABBA’s legacy — with polished production and an almost scientific songwriting structure. This expertise drew Jive Records, which signed the Backstreet Boys and sent them directly there, bypassing traditional U.S. R&B and country routes.

The first Swedish studio sessions were a cultural shock for the group. Howie recalls: “We were a vocal harmony group, and they saw an opportunity to create a brand together.” Nick adds: “We went there and sang for them. I must have been 15 the first time I went to Stockholm, so we grew up going there, and it definitely shaped our sound.”

Working with Denniz Pop, singles like “We’ve Got It Goin’ On” and “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” shaped the first album (Backstreet Boys, 1996), introducing electronic beats, modern synths, and unforgettable choruses.

But it was with Backstreet’s Back (1997), under Max Martin’s greater influence, that the “Cheiron sound” reached its peak. Massive hits like “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and “As Long as You Love Me” fused seemingly dissonant elements — funk guitars, industrial beats, soaring choruses — into a cohesive and irresistible unit, cementing not only the band’s global success but the gold standard for international pop for decades.

The combination of polished melodies and the group’s vocal harmonies created truly magical music. Nick emphasizes the Swedish touch: “When we met Max, Denniz, and all these guys, it was a perfect fit. Like us, they were just starting out.”

The small Stockholm studio became the birthplace of a sound that would conquer the world. Sensitivity to crafting timeless hits became the band’s signature. Totally lagom.

“The greatest legacy of our relationship with these Swedish production wizards. It became a hallmark of our sound — people know it’s us the moment they hear our songs,” Howie says.

Editor’s note: If you love pop music, perfect melodies, and flawless production, explore the history of these and other Swedish producers behind hits by Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Adele, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Maroon 5, and many more.

32 YEARS AND COUNTING

Over three decades, the Backstreet Boys faced ups and downs, experimented with different musical directions, and navigated industry changes. There was a period of “survival,” as Howie describes, during which the band sought to realign its identity and dealt with some rejection of boy bands.

He calls it reinvention: “I remember a conversation when we decided it was time to dance again, play hits, give the audience what they wanted.” This return to the group’s essence led to the special moment they are in now, with 18 more dates scheduled for 2026 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, after selling out 21 shows between July and August at the world’s most technologically advanced — and most coveted — venue.

Opened in 2023, the Sphere redefines immersion with impressive specs: the world’s largest 16K internal dome, 160,000 m² of LEDs, a spherical façade with 1.2 million LEDs, and an immersive sound system with 167,000 speakers.

“Honestly, it’s probably one of the most important feats of our lives,” Howie says, referring to the Sphere residency. “And the coolest part,” Nick adds, “is seeing a mix of generations in the audience — parents enjoying songs they loved as teens, and kids singing along. It brings a sense of peace in this crazy world we live in.”

On the possibility of bringing a version of the Sphere show to Brazil, Howie is cautious but optimistic: “We don’t have the whole show fully assembled yet. The idea is maybe to adapt it. It’s a work in progress, but we’re very excited.”

WHO’S AFRAID OF AI?

Of course, the interview wouldn’t end without discussing social media and the much-talked-about artificial intelligence. Considering that the group was born at the threshold between analog and digital — when the most tech you took to a show was a digital camera or a brick cell phone — the boys have witnessed an entire industry turn upside down from the stage perspective.

Howie reflects on this transformation: “Early in our career, we had to visit every country in person to promote our music. Today, with social media, your music can reach anywhere without going there.”

On AI, Nick is pragmatic: “We embrace technology and AI evolution, as long as there’s no abuse.” He advocates for “checks and balances” to ensure AI doesn’t threaten human creativity.

“You have to care about melody, music, and the intention behind it. We’ve released over 10 albums in our career. Each contains our voices, blood, sweat, tears, emotions. You can’t replace that.”

Howie jokes, but seriously: “Backstreet Boys are John Connor, AI is the Terminator. It’s going to be a war,” before adding, “I’m partly joking, but our responsibility is to ensure technology isn’t abused in the music industry.”

POP LEGACY

The conversation naturally turned to their relationship with Generation Z, with younger fans discovering their music through TikTok and other platforms. Howie sees this new audience with excitement: “It’s amazing how a band’s legacy can transcend generations. We were influenced by music our parents listened to, like Journey and Eagles. Now, it’s beautiful to see young fans, including our kids, really enjoying our music.”

Nick credits their longevity to the fundamental quality of their work: “It all starts with the music. We’re blessed to have great songs that help this generational transition. People may rediscover our work through new technology, but the foundation is solid music.”

Howie adds, highlighting social media’s role: “TikTok is an amazing tool these days. It’s where my kids discover a lot. I think it’s our greatest social ally now, along with Instagram, keeping our music alive and relevant.”

The interview ends with the same warm energy it began — two pop icons (representing a quintet) who, after three decades, maintain not only talent but genuine appreciation for their fans and the unique journey that transformed them from a calculated experiment in Orlando into one of the most enduring and beloved phenomena in global pop music.

Backstreet’s back, all right.

Still, nothing tricks us into the spirit of autumn quite like scent. The smell of spiced apples and burnt sugar sends us right into an episode of Gilmore Girls, even if we’re in shorts. That’s probably why candle sales spike in the fall. According to the National Candle Association, more than 35% of candle sales happen in the fourth quarter, with many candle brands beginning to see major increases in September.

The versatile speaker delivers industry-leading sound quality for music lovers, but for film aficionado’s, this bluetooth speaker can also double as a great home theater surround sound device with seamless connection to other Sonos products. It may have an unusual shape compare to most speakers on the market, but its minimalistic design provides an eye-catching modern feel to enhance the space its in. Featuring Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers, you’ll quickly forget about its unique build and fully be consumed by its impressive surround sound and spatial audio capabilities.

Under the hood are six speaker drivers, four tweeters, and a couple of mid/bass drivers—all of which deliver detailed, big, and robust sound. Its most impressive feature, however, is spatial audio. The speakers sound spreads in all directions and for a substantial distance without lacking definition. If you opt for the Sonos companion app, you can adjust EQ, tune the speakers to your environment via the TruePlay feature, and pair other Sonos speakers together.

Pair With a Soundbar

To fully enhance the Era 300, pair it with the brand’s impressive soundbars to really immersive yourself in spatial audio. The brands most premium and most powerful soundbar, the Arc Ultra creates a massive soundstage that fills every inch of the room and precisely places sounds all around you. Featuring their signature Sound Motion technology, this soundbar packs clear, deep and balanced sound into an unbelievably compact design. Add in an Era 300 speaker or two, you’ll never need to go a movie theater again.

On the more affordable side, the Sonos Ray soundbar offers crisp dialogue and balanced stereo sound with forward-facing acoustics. Add in a Subwoofer

The cherry on top of your home theater set up is a subwoofer. If you’re in a smaller place like an apartment the Sonos Sub Mini is a great option. It’s also cheaper than its big brother the Sub 4 coming in at $499. If you’re wanting to add bold bass to your living space, this compact premium subwoofer features advanced processing that helps reproduce the full-toned bass of a much larger subwoofer but at a smaller scale. Its minimal footprint and unique cylindrical design fits nicely all around your home. For the best bass experience, pair it with the Sonos soundbar and the Era 300 speakers.
