Fat Joe Says Bruno Mars “Screamed On” Him After He Asked About His Puerto Rican Roots: “Man, Broke My Heart.”

Fat Joe Says Bruno Mars “Screamed On” Him After He Asked About His Puerto Rican Roots: “Man, Broke My Heart.”

Fat Joe says his long-awaited meeting with Bruno Mars didn’t go as planned.

During a recent episode of Joe & Jada featuring producers Hit-Boy and The Alchemist, the Bronx rapper shared a story about meeting the 24K Magic star for the first time — and how things allegedly went left after he brought up Bruno’s Puerto Rican heritage.

Joe said he’d been a fan of Bruno for years and was excited to finally meet him at an awards show. But before approaching the singer, someone nearby warned him not to.

“The guy next to me said, ‘You might not want to do it. He’s a f— n—a,’” Joe recalled.

Still, he went over to say hello.

“I said, ‘Yo, Bruno, what’s up, man?’” Joe recounted. “‘Yo, what’s up, Joe?’ [he replied]. He’s with Anderson .Paak. I’m like, ‘Yo, you Puerto Rican?’ He got up.”

That’s when Joe says Bruno became visibly upset.

“‘The f— you mean? I’m a real Puerto Rican from Bushwick, Brooklyn! Don’t ever ask me that s—t in your life,’” Joe claimed Mars told him.

According to People, Bruno’s father, Peter Hernandez, is from Brooklyn and is of Jewish and Puerto Rican descent.

Fat Joe said the interaction left him disappointed, explaining that Bruno walked away from the conversation and sat on the other side of the venue.

“Man, broke my heart. I wasn’t challenging him,” Joe said. “Like, ‘Tell me something. Who’s your father?’ [I asked in] the nicest way… Man, screamed on me. Went to the other room and was mad.”

Joe ended his story with forgiveness.

“Bruno, if you don’t remember it, I forgive you. But you did that, brother.”

Anupamaa actor Gaurav Khanna is currently a contestant on Bigg Boss 19 and has been garnering love and support from fans. However, a section of netizens recently questioned his wife, actress Akanksha Chamola, for not publicly supporting him on social media. In response to the backlash, Akanksha shared a touching note for Gaurav on Karwa Chauth 2025.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Akanksha posted a collage of their pictures over the years and expressed her emotions in a light-hearted yet heartfelt message. She wrote, “As you very well know that I am probably the last person to miss anyone. But aaj for a change, I miss you. Yours sincerely, bhooki pyaasi.” She added, “Us thru the lens of time,” along with a Karwa Chauth sticker, showcasing her affection and support in her own unique way.

This post came after several fans flooded her social media comments, asking why she hadn’t publicly supported Gaurav since his entry into the reality show. One fan asked, “Why don’t you say about Gaurav?” while another commented, “Not even a single post to motivate GK fans.” Despite the criticism, Akanksha’s recent post seems to have silenced many detractors, showing that her support may not always be loud but is deeply felt.

Akanksha Chamola Instagram Story

Akanksha Chamola is a well-known television actress who began her career with Swaragini (2015–2016), and later appeared in Bhootu (2017–2018) and Can You See Me (2022). Gaurav and Akanksha’s love story began during an audition, and after dating, they tied the knot on November 24, 2016, in Kanpur.

You May Be Able to Exercise Your Way Out of a “Broken” Heart

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

“People may not be as surprised that an exercise program helped heart patients, but it is intriguing that this study also showed that cognitive behavioural therapy improved heart function and patients’ fitness,” Sonya Babu-Narayan, MD, clinical director at the British Heart Foundation (which funded the trial presented), told The Guardian. “More research is needed to find out whether these approaches improve survival or symptoms over the long term.” [Vogue reached out to the European Society of Cardiology for comment on the study, as well as a copy of it for reference. It did not get back in time for publication.]

Dr. Fergus says that in general, those who experience heart failure, a heart attack, an irregular heartbeat, or a condition where their heart function is reduced will be prescribed cardiac rehab or exercise. Using that same logic, she says it makes sense that these studies would draw the same conclusion for broken heart syndrome. Exercise allows increased oxygen to go to the heart to strengthen it, she says, and it can boost your mood.

From a mental health perspective, Thea Gallagher, PsyD, clinical associate professor of psychiatry at NYU Langone Health, agrees and explains that so much of the anxiety or distress we have is not held all in our head; it’s in our bodies, too. “The brain and the body are connected,” says Gallagher. “So doing something that’s good for your body can also help when you’re having those physiological symptoms. If you’re really anxious [for example] and you’re drinking five cups of coffee in the morning, that’s not going to be kind to your body. But if you’re anxious and you’re like, ‘Every morning I go for a walk for 20 minutes,’ we know that there are these measurable health benefits, and it mitigates against anxiety and depression.”

Exercise also provides you with a routine to help get you in a better headspace. “Creating a new routine, some new structure and something that’s predictable can really help our brains when we feel super overwhelmed or in just a really deep state of grief,” she says.

So as much as we’d love a quick fix to a broken heart as soon as yesterday, the best course of action for right now is just trying to stay as healthy as humanly possible. “You usually can’t predict who [would get broken heart syndrome],” says Dr. Fergus. “However, you can protect yourself by remaining as healthy as possible by managing your lifestyle and the risk factors so that if an event happens, then you’re less likely to have really catastrophic outcomes.”

Yes’ ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ Featured in ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Welcome to Progtober. This month, you can catch several prog acts on tour, from Yes playing Fragile in its entirety, to Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, who is on the road celebrating 50 years of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Then there’s the Musical Box, a Seventies-era Genesis tribute band currently on tour (they’re so dedicated that lead singer Denis Gagné goes full Peter Gabriel, donning the Foxtrot costume and reverse mohawk). And just this morning, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced a 50th-anniversary Rush tour, dedicated to the memory of their late bandmate, Neil Peart (German virtuoso Anika Nilles will be joining them on drums).

But if concerts aren’t your thing, you can enjoy Progtober from the comfort of your own home. And while you can throw on Close to the Edge or 2112, something a little darker, in the spirit of Halloween. That would be Monster: The Ed Gein Story, the new season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s anthology series, out now on Netflix. It focuses on Ed Gein — the murderer and grave robber who inspired iconic horror films like Psycho, The Silence of the Lambs, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre — and its eighth and final episode includes a fantastic prog moment.

It occurs in the finale, “The Godfather,” when Gein (played by Charlie Hunnam), is residing in the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1984, battling lung cancer. (He was caught by authorities in 1957 and charged with first-degree murder. He was eventually found not guilty by reason of insanity and sentenced to spend the rest of his life in an asylum.) In the show, Gein had just helped the FBI agents catch Ted Bundy (a fun if entirely fictional detail) but he’s mostly spending his time reading books about death, watching other residents play ping pong, and sitting on the couch, sucked into MTV. Kiss appear on the screen, screaming, “I want my MTV!” Apparently Gein does, too. The nurse tells him, “Turn that garbage off. That MTV will rot your brain, Ed!” (I think we’re a little past that, lady, but sure).

Editor’s picks

Trevor Rabin’s opening riff floods through the room, and the band’s classic Storm Thorgerson-directed video starts to play. Gein’s eyes close, and suddenly he’s being ushered through the hospital in his wheelchair, while the staff dance along to the 1983 hit. Serial killers who were all, according to the show, inspired by Gein — Charles Manson, Ed Kemper, Jerry Brudos, and Richard Speck — are there as well, ushering him through. “I hope to burn in hell with you one day,” Kemper tells him. Gein eventually has a tearful reunion with his mother, and it’s clear he’s reached the afterlife. By the end, he’s dead of respiratory failure.

Murphy has always given us awesome needle drops (think Milli Vanilli in last season’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story), but this scene is particularly awesome. Here’s a murderer on his MTV deathbed, reaching the not-so pearly gates as Jon Anderson sings, “You always live your life/Never thinking of the future.” We all have to go sometime. Dying to a song Trevor Rabin wrote entirely on the toilet isn’t so bad.

When it was released this month in 1983 (again, Progtober), “Owner of a Lonely Heart” became the band’s only Number One hit. It completely resuscitated Yes, who were then known as a painfully dated Seventies prog band. “It was the most extraordinary event in my life,” Anderson told us in 2016. “You’re playing to thousands and thousands of people all over the world who know who you are. You never forget those times. It was very much like that at the Close to the Edge time and Fragile time. You never forget that incredible sense of camaraderie, harmony and friendship.”

Trending Stories

Explaining the lineup history of Yes would take hours, far longer than playing every classic prog album back-to-back. But suffice to say that Anderson tours on his own now, separate from Yes (guitarist Steve Howe, singer Jon Davison, bassist Billy Sherwood, drummer Jay Schellen, and keyboardist Geoff Downes). The last time Anderson and Howe performed together was in 2017, when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Rabin, keyboardist Rick Wakeman, and the late drummer Alan White. You can probably guess what they played.

In an odd move, Howe handled the bass parts that night. It’s the last time he’s done the song in concert, and odds are very low he’ll ever do it again. For Howe, Progtober doesn’t mean “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” even though he’s one of the men behind Asia’s “Heat of the Moment.” Maybe Murphy is saving that for the next season of Monster, which focuses on Lizzie Borden. Imagine the scene: Lizzie butchering her family members while John Wetton belts out, “I never meant to be so bad to you….one thing I said that I would never do…” It’ll be prog-tastic.

World Heart Day 2025: Cardiologists decode Broken Heart Syndrome, symptoms and recovery: ‘May look like a heart attack’

World Heart Day 2025: Every year, World Heart Day serves as a reminder to care for the organ that keeps us alive – but heart health is about more than just cholesterol, diet, or exercise. Across the world, many people experience what’s known as Broken Heart Syndrome – a condition that may sound like a romantic metaphor but is, in fact, a serious medical reality. Triggered by extreme stress, grief, or shock, it shows just how deeply our emotions are connected to our heart’s wellbeing.

For the occasion of World Heart Day 2025, HT Lifestyle reached out to three cardiologists, Dr Aken Desai – a consultant and senior interventional cardiologist at Shrimad Rajachandra Hospital; Dr Rasheed Ahmed – the head of Interventional Cardiology at Manipal Hospital, Jaipur; and Dr Manish Sharma – the director of Pushpanjali Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Agra – for their expert comments on a medical condition known Broken Heart Syndrome. According to the experts, a broken heart is not merely a romanticised phrase, but a real heart condition caused due to extreme emotional stress. They outline the various symptoms, prevention and methods of prevention and recovery.

What is Broken Heart Syndrome?

Broken Heart Syndrome may sound like a poetic phrase, but doctors warn it is a real and serious condition. According to Dr Desai, “It’s important to know that Broken Heart Syndrome isn’t just a poetic phrase – it’s a real medical condition called Takotsubo cardiomyopathy.” He explains, “It happens when extreme emotional or physical stress like grief, shock, or sudden fear – floods the body with stress hormones that weaken the heart muscle. It may look like a heart attack, with chest pain and breathlessness, but unlike a heart attack, the arteries aren’t blocked.” He adds that with timely care most people make a full recovery, but the real challenge is recognising the condition quickly.

Symptoms to watch out for

Recognising the signs early can be lifesaving, emphasises Dr Ahmed. “Symptoms often look similar to those of a heart attack – severe chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, and sweating. But unlike heart attacks, these symptoms appear after overwhelming emotional stress (death of a loved one, breakup, anger, shock) or physical stress (severe illness, surgery) that floods the bloodstream with hormones temporarily weakening the heart’s ability to pump.”

While it was once thought to mainly affect postmenopausal women, Dr Ahmed points out that recent studies suggest that the condition can increasingly affect men too, often with severe effects. He stresses, “Knowing these triggers and symptoms early means you can seek care promptly and protect your heart’s health. Remember, your emotional well-being and heart health are deeply connected.”

Prevention and recovery

According to Dr Sharma, managing stress is just as important as managing cholesterol or blood pressure when it comes to heart health. “Prevention and recovery from Broken Heart Syndrome go beyond medication. Simple lifestyle habits like regular exercise, mindfulness, proper sleep, and emotional support can be powerful tools to protect the heart.” He further adds, “Caring for our hearts must go beyond traditional risk factors to include mental and emotional well-being. If you’re facing intense stress or grief, seek help early. Your heart is resilient, but it needs care because sometimes the most important healing begins with acknowledging what weighs on your mind.”

Cardiologist explains heart attacks are deadlier in women than men, highlights ‘gender gap’ in heart health

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Heart disease is often perceived as a ‘man’s disease,’ but in reality, it is the leading cause of death among women. Yet, many symptoms in women are overlooked, misinterpreted, or misdiagnosed, partly because standard tests and treatments have historically been based on male patterns. From hormonal changes and stress to lifestyle and genetic factors, a wide range of elements influence women’s heart health – making awareness, early detection, and gender-specific care crucial for prevention and survival.

Heart disease is often considered as a “man’s disease” but it is much more prevalent in women.(Pexel)

Also Read | Cardiologist reveals having ‘big heart’ in medical terms is not a compliment but cause for concern: Here’s why

Dr. Dmitry Yaranov, a cardiologist and heart transplant surgeon, specialising in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, working with Baptist Memorial Health care, is raising awareness about women’s heart health, highlighting that heart disease is the leading cause of death among women – yet it remains largely overlooked and underdiagnosed. In an Instagram video shared on September 21, the cardiologist outlines eight facts about women’s heart health and emphasises that many of these risks go unnoticed due to medical ignorance, often resulting in misdiagnoses and preventable deaths. He also talks about symptoms, risk factors and ways to stay healthy.

Prevalence of heart disease fatalities

According to Dr Yaranov, “Heart disease is the leading cause of death in women – yet many still think it’s a “man’s disease.” It’s time to change that!” He also mentions that it is the biggest health concern in women, which is frequently overlooked.

Heart attack symptoms

Dr Yaranov stresses that women usually do not experience the “classic” heart attack symptoms, which are common in men and regarded as the norm. He explains, “Instead of crushing chest pain, many feel nausea, fatigue, dizziness, or shortness of breath – often leading to misdiagnosis.”

Heart attack fatalities

The cardiologist points out that heart attacks can be deadlier in women, as compared to men. He explains, “Women are more likely to die within the first year of a heart attack than men, partly because symptoms go unrecognized or untreated.”

Detecting heart disease

According to the cardiologist, “Plaque builds up differently in women’s arteries, making heart disease harder to detect.” Standard heart disease tests were designed according to the patterns of men, which can be misleading for diagnosing women.

Also Read | Cardiologist reveals 5 ancient Indian herbs to boost health naturally: ‘…turns out to be the ultimate nutritional bomb’

Emotional health

Dr Yaranov highlights the importance of the role of stress and emotional health linked to heart disease in women. He elaborates, “Conditions like anxiety and depression can increase heart risks, but they’re rarely part of heart health conversations.”

Post-menopause risks

Post-menopausal women are more prone to the risk of heart disease. The heart surgeon highlights, “The natural drop in estrogen removes a layer of protection, increasing the chances of high blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart attacks.”

Treatments

Dr Yaranov points out the appalling disparity of receiving life-saving treatments between men and women. “Whether it’s medication, stents, or even CPR, women receive them less often than men – yet they need them just as much,” the cardiologist adds.

Prevention

The doctor stresses that most heart diseases are preventable. He suggests, “A heart-healthy lifestyle, regular check-ups, and listening to your body can make all the difference.”

Event Buyers Live announces British Heart Foundation as new charity partner

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Event Buyers Live (EBL) is proud to reveal a new charity partner for EBL25.

This year, the hosted buyer event is raising vital funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). But that’s not all. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in essential CPR and defibrillator training on the final day, too.

Neil Fagg, co-founder of EBL, explained: “Every year, EBL supports a charity and moving forward (after 3 years supporting Mental Health UK), we have chosen to support the British Heart Foundation.

“It’s a charity and purpose that is too close to the team and me sadly, the facts and statistics on the BHF website don’t lie – Heart and circulatory diseases cause around a quarter (26 per cent) of all deaths in the UK.  I lost a key figure in my world this year due to XXX. Out of a dark situation, light can be found however, and from one loss, another life and many more can be saved through awareness and pushing others to get checked and tested.  People I admire, trust and mentors, explained to focus on a charity based on personal reasoning and feelings.

“We want to raise as much money as possible for the charity and help Team BHF raise awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Why? Because every day, in the UK, 270 people are admitted to hospital after having a heart attack and there are more than 40,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year. How many of those heart attacks could take place on your event site or office environment?

“Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces the chance of someone surviving a heart attack by up to ten per cent. If we can educate our audience on the crucial work that BHF does, raise money to support its work, and give our audience an amazing opportunity to learn a life-saving skill than I could not be more proud, and I know my family will be too. Especially my Godfather who also trained others and served more than XX years with St John’s Ambulance.”

Team BHF will deliver CPR and defibrillator training at EBL25, which takes place at Carden Park, Cheshire (November 10-12).

Tess Swainson, fundraising manager at BHF, said: “We’re delighted that EBL has chosen to support the British Heart Foundation and the vital work that me and the team carry out on a daily basis. There are more than 7.6 million people in the UK living with CVD and a range of heart conditions so the more people that Team BHF can educate on the amazing work that we do, the better.

“I am looking forward to attending EBL with my colleagues to deliver CPR and defibrillator training and talk to event professionals about common questions we get asked every day, such as what to do if you have to carry out CPR on a woman. We have worked with lots of organisations, delivering support and advice so we can’t wait to help spread the message even further.”

Fagg continued: “We want to support BHF, which is why we would like to raise as much money as possible and fund their amazing work by asking everyone to make any donation possible.  For those attending EBL25, there will be a blind and live auction running on-site, but anyone can support our goal and target of raising £10,000 this year via our JustGiving page – www.justgiving.com/page/event-buyers-live-2025

Smita Patil Broke Down After Shooting Aaj Rapat Jaayein

Smita Patil Shot ‘Aaj Rapat Jaayein’ & Cried Her Heart Out Till Amitabh Bachchan Stepped In To Coax Her

by jummy84 September 16, 2025

Smita Patil In A Still From Namak Halal (Photo Credit – Youtube)

Smita Patil is one of the most iconic actresses Indian Cinema witnessed. However her journey was short lived since the actress passed away 15 days after giving birth to son Prateik Babbar and her husband Raj Babbar, moved back with his first wife and children Juhi Babbar and Aarya Babbar after Smita‘s death.

Smita’s body of work includes many award-winning films like Manthan and Arth. But apart from these heavy, content-driven films that were called the ‘artsy types,’ she was a part of commercial hits like Namak Halal and others.

Smita Patil was paired with Amitabh Bachchan in Namak Halal. The film became iconic for its song Pag Ghunghroo Baandh Meera Naachi Thi  – a must at Indian weddings. However, today, we will talk about what happened after shooting for the other iconic song from the film.

Why Smita Patil Broke Down After Filming Namak Halal’s Iconic Song

When we talk about the most iconic rain songs of Hindi Cinema, Aaj Rapat Jaaye probably undoubtedly tops the list. The song from Namak Halal had Amitabh Bachchan and the queen of parallel cinema dancing their heart out on the streets of Mumbai, drenched in rain. However, what happened after the shoot was surprising.

After Smita Patil completed shooting for the song, she locked her room and cried her lungs out. The reason for her meltdown was an attempt at commercial cinema, and suddenly, she was worried about her serious image that brought her weight as a star. Smita had never attempted such an eye-grabbing dance before, and she was unsure if commercial cinema would work for her like parallel films did.

Later, co-star and great friend Amitabh Bachchan stepped in and coaxed the actress to shed her inhibitions. Some reports suggest that the actor even cajoled her to broaden her perspective and balance the best of both worlds.

Namak Halal eventually was a huge hit at the box office, and Smita Patil’s dance in Aaj Rapat Jaayein with Amitabh Bachchan is sealed in history!

Heart attacks can strike without warning, but most of them are preventable. Dr. Jack Wolfson, Cardiologist and founder of Natural Heart Doctor shares in his June 20 Instagram post 9 simple yet effective tips to reduce your risk of a heart attack. (Also read: Cardiologist says ‘exercise daily for at least 45 minutes’; shares tips to protect your heart during festivals )

Check out cardiologist’s 9 tips to reduce heart attack risks and improve health. (Pexels)

1. Get rid of plastic

“Plastic is nasty, it’s proven to be problematic. Minimise your plastic exposure the best you possibly can,” says Dr. Jack.

2. Eat more seafood

“Seafood is the healthiest food available. People with the highest levels of omega-3 have the lowest risk of everything,” he adds.

3. Get more sunshine

“The Sun reverses plaque, prevents heart attacks, and prevents strokes. Get more sunshine,” Dr. Jack advises.

4. Improve your sleep quality

“Consider mouth taping to improve sleep quality,” he suggests.

5. Move more

“Hike, bike, walk, stand up paddle board, kayak, do muscle-building activities, just move more,” he says.

6. Reduce your stress levels

“Anyone who has a cardiac event, I’ve seen hundreds of heart attacks and strokes stress was always a factor,” Dr. Jack explains.

7. Avoid water-damaged mold or bacteria

“You want to make sure you are not living in water-damaged mold or bacteria. Test your home, test yourself,” he adds.

8. Test yourself regularly

“Check for inflammation, oxidative stress, homocysteine, Lp(a), intracellular vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, leaky gut, environmental toxins, test for those,” he says.

9. Limit EMF exposure

“Try and limit your exposure to EMF. Don’t wear your cell phone, don’t sleep next to it, maybe turn off Wi-Fi at night. Definitely don’t wear earbuds,” Dr. Jack concludes.
