What This Mercury in Retrograde Means for the Zodiac Signs, According to Astrologer Aliza Kelly
Never mind ghosts and goblins: a true jump scare for some? Setting boundaries.
However, as astrologer Aliza Kelly exclusively told E! News, some of the zodiac signs should gear up to do just that—and more—during this spooky season. Take for instance, Scorpio (Oct. 23 – Nov. 21). This, in fact, is your time to shine and celebrate your birthday, after all. So expect all eyes on you as “you’re truly in your element.”
“This is your time to be radiant, magnetic,” Aliza added, “and just a little dangerous.”
Speaking of possible danger: Virgo, now is the time to be a little more careful than usual.
“Whether you’re manifesting, setting boundaries, or confessing something raw,” Aliza shared, “your language carries weight.”
As for those who will feel a bit haunted this time of year? Here’s looking at you, Leo. “The past few weeks have been great for networking,” Aliza noted, “but now you’re being dragged deep into the basement…Be sure to bring a flashlight.”
Horror isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but a spooky atmosphere has a way of bewitching even the jumpiest of scaredy cats. Perhaps it’s because Halloween season offers the best of both worlds: temperatures that are crisp, yet not too cold; sidewalks peppered with fallen leaves, yet trees still wearing their burnt hues; and festivities leading up to October 31, yet knowing even once it’s passed, there’s plenty of holiday fun still left ahead. A seasonal sweet spot, without a doubt. And because All Hallows’ Eve is positioned just prior to the months when holiday parties and family travel commandeer your calendar, it’s also an excellent time to plan a getaway.
Hallmarks of the best Halloween travel destinations usually entail a moody fall landscape, local legends that involve a tetchy ghost, vampire, or other variety of ominous being, and themed activities like pumpkin patches and cemetery tours. Toss in quintessential cravings like creamy butternut squash soup and locally produced apple cider, plus a lineup of elegant hotels where the only thing that’s scary is the prospect of having to leave, and—at the 10 destinations below—you have a frighteningly flawless fall trip.

Kiernan Shipka’s Halloween Essentials Include Horror Flicks, Candy, and Beauty Sleep Before a Costume Party
Trick or treat! Kiernan Shipka has become the Halloween queen thanks to her roles in thrillers like Totally Killer, Longlegs, The Silence, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and more.
To celebrate the 2025 spooky season, the actress told ET exactly how she’s getting into the spirit.
“My Halloween must-haves include watching and rewatching a long list of horror films, going to a haunted house or two, eating candy, and hitting a few parties on the big night. … I always like dressing up and I love decorations,” she shared.
When it comes to her look, Shipka likes to make the night one to remember with a creative get-up.
“Good drinks, good music, and committed costumes make it a great party,” she spilled.
“Sometimes my costume is planned out and sometimes it’s last minute. … Usually, the idea will just come to me at a random moment, and I write it down so that I remember when Halloween time approaches,” she added.
This time around? “I have a costume ready and it’s very hair and makeup focused.”
Ahead of the celebrations, though, the star makes sure she’s well-rested without any sleepless scaries.
Shipka teamed up with Hatch for their eerie new campaign trailer, Goodnight, Phone, which reminds everyone to log off before bed.
“Good sleep is so important. When I don’t get enough, I really feel it. I remind myself that I want to feel excited and present during a big event, so getting a good night’s sleep beforehand is a non-negotiable,” she said.
To ensure a restful evening, the Chicago, Illinois native relies on a few simple nighttime must-haves.
“Before bed, I usually have some sort of snack. I like to review my day and make a to-do list for the next one, and then I’ll go ahead and do my skincare and take a little magnesium gummy.”
She then turns on Hatch’s Restore sleep clock to start her Unwind routine, complete with soothing sounds and relaxing lights.
“Maintaining this nightly ritual helps my brain recognize that it’s time to relax, and makes falling asleep not only a breeze, but also just a really nice experience. … I’ve also been loving the seasonal bedtime stories on my Hatch+, and saw they added The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, so I’m ready to get into it.”

11 Haunted Castles for Spine-Tingling Supernatural Encounters This Halloween
Deep within the Elz Forest, this dreamlike castle has been owned by the same family since construction began in the 12th century. The medieval structure soars atop a high rock and offers dazzling views of the Elzbach Valley and River Eltz (which flows around the base of the castle on three sides). Miraculously, Burg Eltz has remained largely unscarred by wars, and much of its original furnishings and details from the last eight centuries can still be admired by visitors. But despite this, a ghost is still said to haunt one area of the castle.
Ghosts: The ghost of Agnes, the 15th count’s daughter, is said to haunt Burg Eltz after being killed while defending it from the Knight of Braunsberg, her rejected suitor. An insulted Braunsberg attacked the castle, and Agnes, disguised in armor, fought him but was killed. Her spirit is now believed to inhabit the Countess Room.
How to Visit: The castle is open to visitors daily from April to November, and an entrance fee includes a guided tour of the castle, inner courtyard, and treasury.

Each costume is very accurate to the film, down to the zippers, to help make your little one feel as if they just stepped out of the film. The costumes come with a top and bottom, and are made of soft milk silk, a breathable fabric that doesn’t irritate the skin. Purple hair and space buns are not included. Footwear is not included with the costumes, which means you’ll just have to get creative.
Netflix’s animated film dropped back in June, focusing on the popular phenom that is K-pop. The film follows fictional world-renowned K-pop girl group HUNTR/X, which consists of members Rumi, Mira and Zoey. The group sings and performs, while secretly slaying demons when not on stage. The movie has since spawned everything from coloring books to Funko figures that have sold like hotcakes. The animation is vibrant, while the dialogue and accompanying songs are both funny and touching.
