Tame Impala’s “Dracula” Streams Up Over Halloween

Welcome to Billboard Pro’s Trending Up newsletter, where we take a closer look at the songs, artists, curiosities and trends that have caught the music industry’s attention. Some have come out of nowhere, others have taken months to catch on, and all of them could become ubiquitous in the blink of a TikTok clip.

This week: Kehlani eyes a big chart move thanks to a new pack of remixes, a surreal viral trend helps put a rising singer-songwriter on the streaming map, basketball’s greatest soundtrack makes a comeback and more.

Tame Impala’s ‘Dracula’ Sinks Its Teeth Into the Halloween Season

This year, Halloween fell on a weekend, meaning the partying was perhaps even a little more widespread than usual — and the songs that provide the annual soundtrack for such festivities exploded were even more explosive on streaming. On DSPs, the top-ranking songs were the usual perennial favorites, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” Ray Parker Jr.’s “Ghostbusters” and Bobby “Boris” Pickett’s “Monster Mash” of course among them. But a little lower on those listings was another much-newer spooky-season favorite: “Dracula,” the current electro-pop breakout hit for psych-dance vets Tame Impala.

“Dracula” has already proven a chart sensation, debuting on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 55 in October and hitting a new peak of No. 33 last month following the release of its parent album Deadbeat – his first-ever entry on the chart, since joined by two of its Deadbeat tracklist mates. It may hit a new peak on the Hot 100 on next week’s chart (dated Nov. 15), after the (loosely) vampire-themed and (vaguely) eerie-sounding track racked up over 1.8 million official on-demand U.S. streams on Oct. 31 — up 49% from the previous Friday, according to Luminate, a massive gain for a song already pulling daily streams in the seven digits.

Will the song endure to become a Halloween staple like those aforementioned proven classics? Time will tell, but early signs are encouraging for “Dracula” becoming a holiday immortal.

Toni Braxton Proves ‘Man Enough’ for a Streaming Boost, Thanks to Kayla Nicole and an Upcoming Movie

A week after throwing Kehlani an assist on “Folded,” Toni Braxton is experiencing a mini-streaming revival for one of her own hits. Thanks to a spicy Halloween costume from Kayla Nicole, Travis Kelce’s ex, and a flurry of motion from the Braxton world, streams for 2000’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough” are way up.

According to Luminate, on Oct. 31, “Man Enough” (which reached No. 2 on the Hot 100) earned 106,000 official on-demand U.S. streams. After Nicole shared her costume, which tributes the track’s sultry music video, on Halloween, the Grammy-winning song jumped 87% to over 200,000 official streams (Nov. 1). By Nov. 2, “Man Enough” leapt a further 32% to over 265,000 official streams, with the following day (Nov. 3) giving way to a 38% boost, resulting in 366,000 official streams. Over that four-day period, streams for Braxton’s smash exploded over 242%.

To her credit, Braxton also kept her name in the headlines all by her lonesome, which only further propelled “Man Enough.” On Oct. 28, New Edition confirmed it would head out on a 2026 tour alongside Braxton and Boyz II Men, by Oct. 30, all three acts performed a medley on Good Morning America, with Braxton crooning “Man Enough.” Furthermore, the latest season of The Braxtons, a reality show following Braxton and her famous family, premiered on We TV on Oct. 10, with clips quickly going viral across social media. Also on Oct. 28, Lifetime shared the first look at He Wasn’t Man Enough, an original TV movie starring and executive produced by Braxton based on her hit song.

During the first four days of the week preceding Halloween (Oct. 24-27), “Man Enough” logged over 313,000 official on-demand U.S. streams, with that number jumping just under 200% to over 938,000 official streams over the equivalent period the following week (Oct. 31-Nov. 3). In addition to its streaming boost, “Man Enough” also returned to the iTunes U.S. top 30. — KYLE DENIS

Drake and the Toronto Blue Jays: Still Definitively ‘Not Like Us’

For the second straight autumn, the Los Angeles Dodgers ended the baseball season on top of the mountain. After defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in a classic seven-game World Series — with the seventh game (on Saturday, Nov. 1) going to extra innings and ending on a bases-loaded double play — the Dodgers became the first team since the New York Yankees of 25 years earlier (’99-’00) to repeat as MLB champions.

And just like it was last year, the most frequent song of celebration for Los Angelenos was Kendrick Lamar‘s forever-triumphant, forever-sneering “Not Like Us.” The Grammy-winning, Hot 100-topping classic diss track from L.A.’s most esteemed modern hip-hop representative rang out across Southern California over the weekend, pulling a combined 1.8 million official on-demand streams across the two days (Nov. 2-3) following the Dodgers’ clinching victory — up 16% from the same period the week before, according to Luminate.

And of course, helping to make the victory and its soundtrack extra sweet: The Blue Jays’ most high-profile celebrity representative at the series was of course the 6 God himself, Kendrick’s 2024 foe Drake. The FOX network even tweeted a mocked-up photo after the game of a trophy-donning Lamar speeding away from Drake on the baseball diamond, right next to the all-caps caption, “THEY NOT LIKE US.” — A.U.

The Best Celebrity Halloween Costumes Of All Time

by jummy84 November 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Is it any wonder that celebrities consistently deliver some of the best Halloween costumes year after year? Celebrity halloween costumes, each year, just get better and better, with their talent for character play on full, fantastical display. After all, the ability to transform themselves into new, memorable roles is the lynchpin of most entertainers’s careers. Whether on Instagram or at Heidi Klum’s infamous annual Halloween party, the stars have offered no shortage of dazzling disguises and over-the-top ensembles.

In some cases, the best celebrity Halloween costumes have also become instantly iconic. Consider, for example, Kim Kardashian and her daughter North’s Clueless-inspired costumes designed by Dolce & Gabbana in 2023. Or, Kylie Jenner’s haute bride of Frankenstein moment care of Jean Paul Gaultier in 2022. In both cases, the recreations were so spot-on that even the most careful viewer might have been briefly fooled.

Of course, there have been plenty of other impeccable impersonations from other A-listers as well—including Lizzo as Marge Simpson, Hailey Bieber as Britney Spears, Rihanna as the rapper Gunna, and Margot Robbie as Ginger Spice. And who could forget when Bella Hadid dressed as Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice, Cardi B embodied Medusa, and a heavily pregnant Emily Ratajkowski mimicked Demi Moore’s legendary Vanity Fair cover shoot? Within the last decades, there have also been multiple (and stellar) iterations of Morticia Addams, Jessica Rabbit, Marilyn Monroe, and Sandy from Grease.

Just last year saw unexpected costumes that were just as winning. Doja Cat transformed herself into a sunflower; Kim Kardashian, an albino alligator. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, meanwhile, went full Alice in Wonderland.

2025’s H’ween offerings saw the stars go just as hard: Paris Hilton revisited Britney Spears and took on Madonna and Catwoman, while Keke Palmer sweetly recruited her son to channel Snoop Dogg and Bow Wow. There were more memes and niche pop culture references too: Mindy Kahling emulated a hyped-up Timothée Chalamet cheering on his beloved New York Knicks, and Demi Lovato (already our 2025 winner?) resurrected Poot Lovato. The Biebers—Justin, Hailey, and Jack Blues—brought some swag to The Incredibles

Here, we revisit those and many more of the best celebrity Halloween costumes over the years. One thing is certain: a good costume always elicits delight and—when they are really good—also a fair share of fright. Either way, they are sure to help you come up with some killer costume ideas of your own. Happy hauntings!

Happy Halloween everyone.”

Earlier that day, Priyanka melted hearts online with a sweet video of Malti attempting to record her mother on camera. In the clip, the toddler adorably babbled as she “directed” Priyanka to speak. Responding to her daughter’s cue, the actress smiled and said, “Hi! How are you?” Priyanka captioned the video, “Is our daughter a director?! ‘Take a video and say something, sayyy’ (sic),” tagging Nick.

Best Heidi Klum Halloween Costumes So Far

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Heidi Klum Halloween costumes are the best celebrity Halloween costumes, hands down. This is just a fact. The supermodel is the queen of Halloween, offering up intricate, memorable costumes year after year. And every Heidi Klum Halloween outfit usually comes with a legendary Heidi Klum Halloween party (2020 and 2021 are the exceptions, because of the COVID-19 pandemic).

But Halloween bash or not, the Heidi Klum Halloween costumes over the years are showstopping. Remember when she was Lady Godiva in 2001? Or Jessica Rabbit in 2015? Or the scariest alien you’ve ever seen in 2019? I still have nightmares about that.

So what did Heidi Klum do for Halloween this year?

After last year’s E.T. costume, Heidi Klum ditched the extra terrestrial for the mythological. Specifically, she went as an even more reptilian version of Medusa. In most versions of the Greek mythology, Medusa is a beautiful woman that was cursed by the goddess Athena with a head of snakes instead of hair and the horrible ability to turn people to stone with just one look. Heidi’s version, however, goes full snake monster with some support from her statuesque husband, Tom Kaulitz, who dressed as a soldier frozen in stone.

Kayla Nicole Sparks Speculation From Fans With Halloween Costume – Hollywood Life

Kayla Nicole brought all the heat to crafting her 2025 Halloween costume! The 33-year-old Special Forces alum dressed up as R&B singer Toni Braxton and shared a stunning video of it on her Instagram. But the costume raised a few eyebrows among Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift fans because of Kayla’s song choice for the post: “He Wasn’t Man Enough” by Toni.

“She’s an icon. She’s a legend,” Kayla captioned her Friday, October 31, video. “She’s @tonibraxton circa 2000.”

Several commenters praised the sports journalist’s costume, and a few may have added more fuel to the fire of rumors. One person commented, “Will the real showgirl step to the front!!!!!” which was seemingly a reference to Taylor’s Life of a Showgirl album. “This is too good! But also, we heard THE MESSAGE,” another social media user wrote.

“YOU CLEARED THE ROOM!!!!!!! Omg,” another commenter chimed in, before adding, “The level of petty, slayage and pure decimation needs to be studied. Omg.”

Though Kayla did not mention Travis, 36, nor Taylor, 35, in her post, she’s had to face the wrath of online trolls over her past relationship with the Chiefs tight end.

Kayla and Travis dated on and off from 2017 to 2022, and the football player started dating Taylor in 2023. He and the “Karma” pop star announced their engagement earlier this year in August.

In season 3 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Kayla opened up about the online attacks she’s faced from some overly passionate Swifties.

“Going through a public breakup, just to be frank, it’s been overwhelming,” Kayla said in one episode, which premiered in January. “I’ve never experienced anything like it. … I’m a very confident person, but dealing with trolls or just hate online, I constantly feel like I’m in a state of vulnerability. I would love to be in a headspace where I’m just not affected at all. I’m doing this course because I want to remind myself that I’m capable of doing hard things.”

Kayla added that she felt “reduced to a headline to something so small as someone’s ex-girlfriend.” Nevertheless, she insisted that she “likes” Taylor and thinks she’s “very talented.”

“I just get a lot of like s**t because [Kelce] is dating such a mega superstar,” Kayla added at the time.

Lily Allen takes shot at David Harbour with ‘Madeline’ Halloween costume

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Lily Allen has taken a shot at her ex-partner David Harbour by wearing a ‘Madeline’ costume for Halloween.

The singer-songwriter released her first album in seven years, ‘West End Girl’, last week (October 24), and she has confirmed that her split from the Stranger Things star was a major source of inspiration for the songs on the record.

One song in particular has been identified as central to the theme of the break-up with Harbour – ‘Madeline’ sees her construct a fictional character who Allen implies had an affair with Harbour, and in the song, she reads out what appears to be a voice note from Madeline to the actor. “I can’t trust anything that comes out of your mouth / I’m not convinced that he didn’t fuck you in our house,” she sings.

Now, Allen has taken another swipe at Harbour by dressing up as the children’s book character Madeleine, the young girl living at a Paris boarding school from the 1939 novel of the same name by Ludwig Bemelmans.

She appeared at a Halloween party in the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles dressed from head to toe as the character, with a blue coat, red neckerchief, straw hat and bright orange wig.

Since the album’s release, a woman named Natalie Tippett has come forward claiming to be the woman that was having an affair with Harbour. She told the Mail on Sunday: “Of course I’ve heard the song. But I have a family and things to protect. I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and I understand this is going on. It’s a little bit scary for me.”

Despite her claims, Allen insisted in an interview with The Sunday Times that the song ‘Madeline’ is a fictional character who is a “construct of others”.

News of Allen’s separation from Harbour arose towards the start of the year, amid rumours that there was cheating on the Stranger Things star’s part. Earlier this year, Allen revealed that she went into a treatment centre to deal with the “emotional turmoil” of the split.

‘West End Girl’ was given a four-star review from NME, and praised as “a sleek, smart collection that sees Allen back at her very best”.

“As you’d expect from her most ‘vulnerable’ album, there’s a lot of grief and misery across ‘West End Girl’, but it never sounds depressing,” it read. “Since ‘Smile’, Allen’s always had a knack for making devastation sound exciting.

“There’s rage behind the pulsating ‘Ruminating’ as she struggles with the realities of an open marriage, playful other woman anthem ‘Madeline’ is a dizzying cocktail of uncertainty, fury and empathy, while the gorgeous ‘Just Enough’ is as crushing as it gets, heartbreak amplified by lush strings. It feels like a much-needed purge.”

This week, Allen announced her first tour in seven years – she will play ‘West End Girl’ in full at a run of “specially-chosen” theatres across the UK in March, culminating with two nights at London’s Palladium. See all the dates here and find tickets here from November 7.

The Most Creative Celebrity Halloween Costumes of 2025

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Even though October 31 is officially behind us, the rollout of celebrity Halloween costumes are bound to continue over the next couple of days. Even so, it’s safe to say some of the best looks have already been revealed.

Of course, you can’t talk about celebrity Halloween costumes without mentioning Heidi Klum, whose annual Halloween bash serves as the platform for her own spectacular transformations. This year, she sat in the makeup chair for nine hours to morph into a particularly monstrous version of Medusa, complete with mechanical snake hair and a stone version of her husband, Tom Kaulitz.

While Klum’s look did not disappoint, plenty of Hollywood’s finest planned their own parties and photoshoots to showcase their makeup and costuming skills—or, at least, the skills of the stylists and makeup artists they hired to bring their artistic vision to life.

For example, Janelle Monáe has already had multiple viral transformations this Halloweek, from her turn as the Cat in the Hat to a topless tattooed vampire on Muscle Beach. Finally, for her annual star-studded Wondaween bash, she let a shark take a bite out of yet another glamorous blood-sucking creature.

Here are some of this year’s best celebrity Halloween costumes so far.

No one does Halloween quite like Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz, who transformed into a fully reptilian take on Medusa and a soldier she turned to stone.

The Ghosts of ‘Halloween’ – SPIN

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Spencer Berger has that kind of look that makes you wonder where you’ve seen him before. His thick brows, kind blue eyes, slim face, and wily smile are the perfect composite of a frontman you could swear you just saw on the cover of a magazine, or maybe an actor in a movie you can’t place.

The comparison isn’t too much of a stretch. Before his current one-man music project Auditorium (the moniker symbolizing a room where any music could be played), one of Berger’s big breaks was Skills Like This, a movie he wrote the screenplay for and also  starred in at just 27 years old. The bank heist caper won the audience award at SXSW in 2007 and led to a brief on-screen career.

Even before those credits, music projects put him in the spotlight. In the late ’80s, at the ripe age of 9, the native New Yorker was performing with the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus. By 18, he fronted New York indie rock band the Jive Wheel with friends from Vassar College.

Suffice to say, Berger—now 40-something and living in L.A.—has worn many masks over the years. But on the pensive rocker “Halloween,” appropriately launched today, the multi-talent makes a great case for shedding them all.

Berger explains more about the song’s origins that go back 20-plus years, talks about the musical he’s working on, and spills about that one time he literally bumped into Luciano Pavarotti.

You first wrote and performed a version of “Halloween” when you were 18 with the Jive Wheel. Why did you want to revisit and unearth it now?

I had just started college, and I was wrestling with the idea of trying to be true to myself and knowing I was putting my authentic self out there as I’m meeting all these new people who I may be hiding parts of myself from out of fear or shame. At the time, I thought this was something that only people my age were wrestling with. Now that I’m much older, I’m still thinking about that. I was hearing the lyrics differently, in a way that they didn’t strike me when I was 18.

It feels like the idea of “masks” right now is really significant, whether people putting on a mask via a social media persona or people taking off a mask so we see who they really are.

It’s interesting how that happens, how you’ll be listening to a lyric in the context of a current event that will strike you. In another song of mine, “Fire Fire Ocean Liner,”  the first line of that song is “Rock ‘n rollers. Raise your hands. The president wants to join your band. He’s only played for a year or two, but he’s already so much better than you.” I wrote that lyric when Obama was still president. But by the time I released it, Trump had become president. And suddenly the way that anybody was absorbing that lyric, including myself, changed.

“Halloween” has the characteristic moodiness and dramatic vocals that carry the vibe of most Auditorium songs. Does that come from your opera background?

When I first started being in bands, the very first thing that I became aware of was that my voice didn’t fit with my heroes. I was growing up in the ’90s. I was listening to Nirvana, Eddie Vedder. I was digging all those incredible rock voices that had a wonderful dirtiness to them. And I would try to make my voice sound like what I thought it should sound like. But when I was in college and introduced to Elliott Smith, it opened up a whole row of doors in my brain. I heard a voice that didn’t fit with what you would typically think of as rock and roll. There were also bands like Pulp; when I heard Jarvis Cocker’s voice, I was like, well, this guy’s pretty theatrical. Or Grant Lee Buffalo. Grant-Lee Phillips’ voice was another that struck me, like wow he’s really doing his own thing. So there were these artists along the way that sort of poked me and said, just stop trying to sound like anybody else, try to sound like yourself. The idea kind of goes back to the song “Halloween.” When I started doing that, I actually started to sound like myself for the first time, and I started to write differently too. I found that suddenly the music that was coming out of me was no longer trying to fit this other voice. It wasn’t trying to do anything other than just be myself. And it was incredibly freeing.

Going back to your opera roots, how does one even get started with the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus and performing with Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo?

I was growing up in Queens, and I used to sing around the house, but that was pretty much the extent of it. A family friend had heard me and encouraged my parents to have me audition because that was a thing in New York. If you’re growing up there, the operas need kids. The woman who auditioned me was the director of the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus, this unbelievable human being by the name of Elena Doria. She passed away a few years ago. And if you look her up, you will read all sorts of legendary tales about her. When I auditioned, we traveled five stories underground because underneath the Metropolitan Opera is like a labyrinth. In this small room was a piano and a bunch of folding chairs and a blackboard, and Elena Doria sat down at the piano and said, ‘All right, kid, sing “Happy Birthday.” Singing happy birthday is an incredibly common thing when you don’t have anything prepared because of that octave in the middle of the song. Before I knew it, I was cast in La Boheme, and it couldn’t have been more than a month or two before I suddenly was on stage and there was Pavarotti. My experience with Pavarotti was that I was walking off stage and I walked into what honestly felt like a wall, and I kind of bounced back. But I looked up and it was not a wall, it was Pavarotti. And he didn’t even know. It was like he didn’t even notice that I touched him. He was completely unfazed.”

Do you have plans to get back into acting in the future?

I’m starting to dip my foot back into it. The last album that I made was Life Changer, which came out in 2023. The songs [like “Cedars-Sinai Cafeteria Breakdown”] came out of the fact that when my wife was pregnant, she developed a life-threatening condition called HELLP syndrome that came on in the final 27 hours before our first child was born. After that experience, it wasn’t like I had a big plan to write about it. It was more like the only lyrics that came out of my head were all somehow related. By the way, that story has the happiest ending ever, because my wife obviously survived. Our child was born totally healthy. My wife is totally healthy now. But it just left such an impression, and I’ve been writing a screenplay that is basically based on that experience. It’s a musical, with the foundation being the songs from Life Changer.

What lies ahead for Auditorium? And do you think you’ll expand it beyond a solo project?

I find the challenge of trying to record music by myself deeply rewarding, but that said, I love collaborating with other musicians when I perform Auditorium songs live— for instance, I often perform with my wife Daya Berger, who’s a fantastic bassist. And on the extreme flipside of Auditorium is the punk band I play in, 123Death, in which myself and the two other band members (Malcolm Sosa and Jeff Electric) write and record everything together. [As Auditorium], I’m working on a whole bunch of singles for this coming year, which I’m excited to share. I’ll probably be releasing a song every one to two months. It takes me a while to feel proud of an album as a whole before I release it, so I started doing the singles model last year. Just before “Halloween,” I released a track called “George Washington’s Last Will and Testament,” which is part of a group of songs that has started to slowly take shape.

Inside Heidiween! The Frick’s Fancy Bash! An Elizabeth Taylor Bonanza! The Most Exclusive Celebrity Halloween Parties of 2025

Arguably one of the most coveted (and charitable) nights of Halloween is none other than Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project (NYRP) annual Hulaween—a spellbinding affair held in support of the city’s green spaces.

Last night marked NYRP’s 30th year of keeping New York green. The nonprofit, founded by Midler, partners with communities to restore parks, revive gardens, plant trees, and grow a more vibrant New York for everyone. Fittingly, the theme matched the mission: “Hulaween: New York, New York, a Helluva Town!”

As one guest dressed as Eloise quipped, “There is no one definition of New York.” The crowd proved her right—there were subway stops, Chrysler buildings, pizza rats, and one partygoer who earned a costume award for embodying every New Yorker’s quiet fear: death by falling A/C unit.

Midler herself leaned into her roots, arriving in denim overalls and glittering eye makeup as a playful nod to her showbiz sparkle and hands-on gardening spirit. Accepting the Catalyst Award, she joked, “I’m no longer a spring chicken, no longer a summer chicken, I’m not even a fall chicken. I’m an endangered chicken at this point!” Echoing the mission that has guided NYRP since 1995, she told the crowd, “Clean, green, open space is a right, not a privilege.”

Hosted by Busy Philipps, the evening sparkled with quintessential NY moments. Guests were treated to a surprise musical tribute from Billy Crystal alongside Marc Shaiman, Ben Platt’s rendition of “On Broadway,” and Andy Cohen (costumed as fellow Andy, Andy Warhol), honored with the Joan Kors Green Champion Award by designer Michael Kors in a taxi driver getup.

As the festivities wound down, guests were gently reminded to move along or risk being booted from Casa Cipriani’s storied halls. The City that Never Sleeps truly lived up to its name. – Lauren Sanchez
