Her pick this year: “Balenciaga recently did a fashion show featuring tons of bows, and my client who attended wore one with a half-up style and face framing bangs. It was so fun.”

It’s also important to avoid overdoing your locks so that you look good (and feel good) while mingling.

“Limit the number of bobby pins you use. If it hurts while you’re styling, chances are you’ll have a headache by the end of the night and nobody wants that,” she notes.

My dad was a practicing Hindu, although “practicing” isn’t really a thing in Hinduism. You either are or you aren’t, and from what I’ve seen, many Hindus feel like you have to be born into Hinduism. That being said, “converts” are welcome, but there’s no formal conversion process. I bring this up because JD Vance’s wife Usha is Hindu. She grew up in a Hindu family, she was born into Hinduism. Usha apparently encouraged her husband to convert to Catholicism as an adult, although Usha did not join him or join the Church. Well, last week, JD attended a Turning Point USA event at Ole Miss, and he was asked about multifaith marriages/relationships. He claimed that when he and Usha met, they were both agnostics or atheists, but now that he’s Catholic, he hopes that “eventually” Usha is “somehow moved by the same thing that I was moved in by church? Yeah, I honestly, I do wish that, because I believe in the Christian gospel, and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way.” Yeah… not great. Offensive, even.

Anyway, my guess is that Ole Couchbanger has seen his polling numbers on many subjects, including his wife, his marriage and his three half-Indian children. If Vance wants to run for president in 2028 – if there even is an election at this point – then he definitely wants to ensure the white-supremacist voter bloc. Meaning… JD Vance is possibly in the market for a new wife, one with impeccable white Christian nationalist credentials. Enter Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk. Erika attended the same Turning Point event at Ole Miss, and she spoke about how JD reminded her so much of her late husband. Then she ran her fingers through JD Vance’s hair as they passionately embraced on stage.

Vice President JD Vance was the guest of honor at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi on Wednesday, Oct. 29. But it was a moment during his introduction that has since gone viral.

Erika Kirk, the widow of right-wing political organizer Charlie Kirk, has taken her husband’s place as Turning Point CEO following his assassination during a TPUSA event on Sept. 10. She opened Wednesday’s event with an emotional speech, noting that the day marked seven weeks since her husband was killed.

“When our team asked my dear friend, Vice President JD Vance, to speak today, I really prayed on it, because obviously it’s a very emotional, emotional day,” Erika, 36, shared. “But I could just hear Charlie in my heart. I could just hear him say, ‘Go reclaim that territory, babe. Go. The battle’s already won. God’s love conquers.’ ”

Despite her tearful words, the budding social media conversation after the event stemmed from her dynamic with Vance, 41.

“No one will ever replace my husband,” she told the crowd. “But I do see some similarities of my husband in JD— in Vice President JD Vance. I do. And that’s why I am so blessed to be able to introduce him tonight.”

As Vance took the stage, he and Erika embraced in an intimate manner. The vice president rested his hands on Erika’s hips, and she seemed to thread her fingers through his hair, leaving it slightly mussed.

The not-so-secret secret to hydrating hair is picking out a product (or three) with the proper ingredients that work best with your hair type.

So if you don’t know where or how to start your hydrating hair journey, we’ve got you. Below, the experts break down how to approach dry hair for every type and texture. The road to healthy hair starts here.

As Kari Williams, certified trichologist and Cécred’s head of education, explains, fine hair can dry out easily from heat styling and overwashing, despite it being more prone to oiliness. Thick hair, by comparison, can struggle to absorb moisture evenly, leading to dry ends. Curly and coily hair are naturally more prone to dryness as they have low porosity, making it difficult for natural oils to travel down the hair shaft and for nourishing ingredients to penetrate effectively.

But how does hair dry out in the first place? According to Marisa Garshick, MD, a board-certified dermatologist at MDCS Dermatology, dry hair happens when your scalp doesn’t produce enough natural oil or when your strands lose moisture. The causes for these can be due to a number of different things, but the most common ones are:

Harsh Ingredients

The products we use can be the number one culprit in dehydrating our hair. Dr. Garshick says to be careful with shampoos that contain ingredients like sulfates and alcohol, as those can strip strands of natural oils and leave hair dry and prone to breakage.

Excessive Hot Styling

It can be hard to put down the curling iron, but you may want to use it sparingly. Dr. Garshick says that excessive heat from hot styling tools breaks down the hair’s protein structure and depletes moisture. This will then make your strands brittle and weak. If you do use a hot styling tool, one of the best hair protectant tips is to use a heat protectant spray or product to limit damage.

Chemical Treatments

Chemical treatments like coloring treatments and relaxers can cause a variety of damage to our hair if we aren’t careful. Dr. Garshick explains that these treatments may compromise the cuticle and lead to increased moisture loss.

Environmental Stressors

Dr. Garshick lists environmental factors like sun exposure or dry weather, chlorine from swimming pools, as things that can dry out hair. She explains that UV radiation and pollution can damage the hair cuticle, allowing hydration to escape and leading to dryness over time.

Lack of Oil Production

As we age, the oil production in our scalps decreases, which will then lead to dehydration. Dr. Garshick explains that too little oil production can impact hair dryness and dehydration. “If your scalp underproduces oil, your hair may not get enough natural moisture,” she says. “This is especially common in curly or coarse hair, where oil has a harder time traveling down the shaft.”

How to Hydrate Fine Hair

There are different ways to hydrate hair based on hair type. The key to hydrating fine hair is finding that perfect balance between lightweight and nourishing ingredients. “Look for products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or aloe vera, which hydrate without leaving a greasy residue,” says Dr. Garshick. “Use a lightweight conditioner and avoid heavy oils or creams. A leave-in conditioner spray or a volumizing conditioner can also help add moisture without making hair flat.”

Hair masks with rich oils and proteins can help restore hydration, and oil-based serums can seal in moisture after washing. After the cut, Calhoun prepped Madison’s hair with the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Upload Bodyfying Cream, applying it from roots to ends on damp hair to add body, bounce, and control. Using a round brush, she blow-dried the hair smooth, all while keeping lift at the roots to maintain natural volume and movement. Once it was dry, Calhoun used a 1¼-inch curling iron to curl the hair in the same direction throughout, creating a uniform wave pattern. After curling, she pinned each section to cool and set the shape, which Calhoun says helps keep the waves in their hold, and a smooth finish. When the curls had fully cooled, she brushed through the hair to soften the texture and blend the pattern. Using setting clips, Calhoun shaped the waves together, refining the “S” shape, and allowing them to set for a few minutes.

Once the waves were defined, she misted the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Texture Craft Spray through the mid-lengths and ends to build a bit of texture and movement. To finish, she applied Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Freeze for long-lasting, locked-in hold, and using her fingers, brushed a small amount of Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Glow gently at the roots to tame flyaways. “The products really make the difference,” stresses Calhoun.

The rest of Madison’s glam was kept similarly classic; Melissa Hernandez was on-hand for a poreless base and ever-so-delicate, grapefruit-toned blush on the apples of her cheeks, a sweep of liquid eyeliner, and a flutter of ’60s-style lashes, with a rosy pink lip to finish.

Hair and makeup matched the romantic custom Dior gown, inspired by Look 71 from Jonathan Anderson’s spring 2026 collection and womenswear debut for the French house. The dress featured billowing sleeves cuffed just above the wrists to create a retro silhouette, with a deep scoopneck, bow-tied waist, and flowing skirt, all in a sheer, embroidered silver fabric. With its bouncing, three-dimensional hemline, the dress reflected the movement of her sleek, free-flowing hair. As Mikey Madison and Rena Calhoun show, the story starts with seriously good glam.

Women have always seen advertisements on how to shave “down there,” but Kim Kardashian‘s shapewear company, Skims, just changed the game with its new product. Dubbed the “ultimate bush,” the micro-string thong is being marketed as a faux pubic hair G-string — and the product sold out pretty quickly.

“How funny are these merkins, you guys?” Kim was heard saying in an Instagram Stories video that showcased the thongs. “We have different colors, different hairs … this is insane. Skims, baby!”

A Skims bush G-string costs around $32, but as seen online, the product is currently sold out. Interested buyers were able to sign up for a waitlist until a new batch is ready to sell.

What Is the Skims ‘Bush’ Lingerie Made of?

To alleviate any concerns, the Skims “Bush” G-string is not made of actual hair. According to Skims, its “most daring panty yet” is “hand-made in a super sheer, stretch mesh,” featuring a “mix of curly and straight faux hair in twelve different shade variations.”

The “fit and fabric” description of the product notes it has a sheer mesh front with the faux hair in addition to elastic side straps and is made out of 82 percent polyamide and 18 percent elastane.

How Can You Buy the Skims ‘Bush’ G-String?

At the time of publication, you can’t. All versions of the “bush” thong are currently sold out, but shoppers joined a waitlist. So, it looks like Skims has a tall line of buyers to get through first.
