Middle East move signals start of global expansion for Strata

by jummy84 September 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Strata, the brand experience agency which is part of the Strata Group has begun its first steps towards international expansion with a strategic focus on the Middle East. Senior Account Manager Gabriella Duranti-Hey has relocated to the region on an extended assignment to explore business development opportunities, meet existing and prospective clients and assess the potential for establishing a long-term presence.

The move is part of a phased international growth strategy, placing a dedicated team member in-market to strengthen relationships with clients already operating in the region, particularly across pharma, medical aesthetics, luxury, automotive, technology and financial services.

“This is an exciting opportunity to grow our footprint in a region that holds huge potential,” said Gabriella. “Many of our clients have asked when we’ll have a presence here. Being on the ground enables us to explore what’s possible and where Strata can add value. It’s the first step in what could become a broader global expansion for the group.”

The initiative follows extensive desk research and a business plan developed in 2024. By embedding talent locally, Strata is taking a deliberate and informed approach to international growth, drawing on proven models of success within the sector.

Cole Mulkerins, CEO of Strata, commented, “This marks a pivotal moment for Strata. Expanding into the Middle East is not just about geography, it’s about deepening client relationships, unlocking new markets, and positioning ourselves for long-term, sustainable growth. It’s the first step in a wider international vision that will see our agencies explore new regions while maintaining the creativity and client service we’re known for.

Having a trusted team member on the ground gives us the insight and agility to grow organically in a way that aligns with our values and our ambition. It’s an exciting evolution for the business and a natural next step.”

The Middle East also provides a strategic launchpad for future growth across Asia Pacific, North America and Africa, aligning with the longer term ambitions of Strata and the wider Group.. Further updates on Strata’s international plans will be shared later this year.

bitchy | King Charles is ‘thrilled’ about the Trump visit & ‘very pleased with the global optics’

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s interesting reading the differences between the British coverage and American coverage of the Trumps’ state visit to the UK. The British political media is mostly happy that it’s over and they seem unsettled by how the Windsors ingratiated themselves so thoroughly with the Trumps. The American coverage is more like “well, Trump wants nothing more than to be a despotic king, so he was really impressed with the dumbass carriage ride, I guess.” Everyone’s pointing out that the Trumps were localized, almost entirely, inside and around Windsor Castle. They really didn’t want the Trumps to interact with any of the locals. Meanwhile, the royalists are trying to make it sound like a good thing that Trump is such a huge fan of Prince William, Kate and King Charles. “Nazi-approved” is such a weird flex for British royalty, you know? From Vanity Fair:

The inclusion of Prince William and Princess Kate at such a high level during Trump’s state visit has been “unusual,” according to royal watchers, with both the Prince and Princess of Wales taking on more high-profile roles. As well as greeting President Trump and the first lady at Windsor, which is standard for state visits, William and Catherine were invited to have a private meeting with the Trumps which a Kensington Palace aide described as “warm and friendly.”

“It seems as though Trump has an eye on the future generation,” says Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine. “He’s obviously genuinely impressed by William and who wouldn’t be impressed by Kate. She looked incredible. It seems a lot of effort has been made for the Trumps and the Waleses to spend some time together on this trip.”

“I would expect that William and Catherine would have been quite touched and maybe a bit taken aback by so many compliments,” adds Seward. “It’s very flattering to have someone as powerful as Trump praising you and treating you like a very special friend. It’s unusual for the Head of State to be that personal, but it’s Trump’s style. The royals have to deal with so many dullards, Trump is actually really refreshing. He’s outspoken and quite exciting to be around because you don’t know what’s going to happen. Catherine looked quite taken aback when he praised her so personally. She looked a bit embarrassed, but that’s Trump. I think the royals are probably amused and bemused by it all.”

During Wednesday’s dinner in Windsor, Trump made a point about being the only US president in history to be granted the privilege of two state visits and joked about hoping he would be the only one to make King Charles laugh.

A source close to the king told Vanity Fair that Charles has said the state visit “could not be better.” Adds the source, “I understand that His Majesty the King is thrilled about the visit and very pleased with the global optics of it all. The Royal Family really did pull out all the stops.”

[From Vanity Fair]

“The Royal Family really did pull out all the stops” – again, they didn’t have much of a choice. Charles HAD to do all of this, he was outmaneuvered by Keir Starmer and Trump himself. Charles had to roll out the red carpet and entertain a decrepit old white supremacist with shiny objects. The only real choices made for this state visit were about Prince William and Kate. Kate especially didn’t have to be featured so prominently, she didn’t have to agree to sit next to Trump at the banquet (that should have been a job for Camilla), she didn’t have to agree to a solo event with Melania. Choices were also made to push William and Kate aside, especially at the welcoming ceremony, when the Waleses were literally shooed away and kicked off the dais. So… yeah, some interesting things of note happened for hardcore royal-watchers, but the broad strokes of the state visit are that it was “successful” on both sides of the Atlantic.

Sergio George Launches First-Ever Global Doodle & Best Latin News

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

From career milestones to new music releases to major announcements and those little important moments, Billboard editors highlight uplifting moments in Latin music. Here’s what happened in the Latin music world this week.

Sergio George’s Google Doodle

Earlier this week, Google launched its first-ever global Doodle dedicated to salsa, curated by renowned producer, pianist and arranger Sergio George. The initiative marks an “unprecedented recognition of a genre born in Latino communities that went on to conquer stages and celebrations around the world,” according to a press release. The tribute comes just days before George presents his first Salsa Festival, ¡ATACA SERGIO!, at Miami’s Kaseya Center on Sept. 21.

The Doodle debuted as an animated music video honoring Hispanic Heritage Month with a remix of five salsa anthems, including “I Like It” by Pete Rodríguez and “Mi Gente” by Héctor Lavoe. The Doodle also showcases iconic salsa instruments such as the piano, conga, trombone, clave, and güiro. The project was brought to life under the creative direction of Jorge R. Canedo E. and Sergio George.

The Doodle is accompanied by a playlist of salsa hits titled DAME MÁS SALSA, which includes 15 tracks produced by Sergio George.

Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation Initiatives

The Colombian star, who will be headlining Coachella next year, announced two new projects in Colombia for her Con Cora Foundation. Karol G took to social media to unveil the construction of Santa Fe de Icotea College in Maria la Baja, Bolivar and Casa Con Cora in Medellin, a safe space for women and girls in vulnerable situations.

“They’re the kind of achievements that make me feel like everything I do has a purpose because behind them are incredible stories of struggles and hopes that touch me deeply,” she captioned the Instagram post. See the developments here.

BMI Hosts “Las Compositoras+” Songwriting Camp

BMI recently hosted the “Las Compositoras+” song camp as part of its “commitment to supporting its songwriters and amplifying diverse voices in música mexicana,” according to a press statement. The three-day creative retreat was in partnership with songwriter Erika Vidrio, who led the songwriting sessions. Held in Los Angeles, the camp united a lineup of emerging and established talent, including Paulina B, Celimar, Amanda Coronel, Delilah, Lupita Infante, Michelle Maciel, Karen Moon and Ashlee Valenzuela.

“The Las Compositoras+ song camp is about fostering collaboration, supporting our songwriters and building a creative community,” Lilibeth Patron, BMI’s associate director, creative, Latin, said in a statement. “Together, with the support of our sponsors, we were able to provide a platform and create a unique experience for female songwriters and creators in the LGBTQ+ community in música mexicana.”

2025 Latin Music Week Lineup

On Thursday, Billboard unveiled the full lineup for the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Week, returning to The Fillmore Miami Beach from Oct. 20 to 24.

Joining the star-studded roster of the week-long event are Aitana, Christian Alicea, Danny Ocean, Ivy Queen, Lenny Tavárez, Luck Ra, Lupita Infante, Olga Tañón, Rawayana, Silvestre Dangond, Suzette Quintanilla, Tokischa and Yailin, to name a few.

The new additions were announced during a press conference in Miami. “We are thrilled to be back with our biggest Latin Music Week ever — 32 panels, more than 100 guests, including the artists, executives and content creators most relevant,” Leila Cobo, chief content officer of Billboard Latin/Español, said then. “The Fillmore is not just a beautiful theater, but history has been made here. Every artist of note has performed here.”

See the full lineup here.

Regional Mexican GOATs

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, which officially kicked off Sept. 15, Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors rolled out the 75 Best Regional Mexican Acts of All Time, announcing Nos. 75-61.

The following criteria was taken into consideration for the list: vocal prowess, body of work, career longevity, industry achievements, Billboard chart accomplishments, game-changing influence and enduring generational/cultural impact.

Billboard will be unveiling a new round every week until the final 15.

Hyve enters global top 10 exhibition organisers list

by jummy84 September 17, 2025
written by jummy84

Hyve are proud to share that they have entered the coveted list of Top 10 exhibition organisers worldwide by revenue, according to the newly published STAX 2024 rankings.

In just one year, Hyve has climbed from 15th place to 8th, a significant leap that underlines the strength of our strategy and execution. Even more notably, we have been ranked #1 in year-on-year growth, having almost doubled our revenues – a clear marker of our defining strategy, building momentum and industry-leading performance. Total growth between 2019 and 2024 was a huge 96% organically on a pro forma basis.

This success reflects a combination of:

  • Organic performance: running outstanding events that deliver results, continuing to digitise by rolling out tech-enabled products such as meeting programmes and table talks, launching new events at scale, optimising systems and data, and embedding best practice in areas such as sales, marketing, and pricing.
  • Strategic acquisitions: entering high-growth end markets and applying our proven strategies and operating model to accelerate performance.

This balance has created a trajectory that is both sustainable and scalable.

Mark Shashoua, CEO, said: “Our rise is not only a story of numbers, but of vision, discipline, and culture. By combining bold decision-making with relentless customer focus, we have become one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing organisers, partnering with the world’s leading companies.”

And this is just the beginning. With our GO27 roadmap, Hyve is set for continued growth and further acceleration, building on a model that has already been proven to deliver time and again.

TBOE Global Policy Forum to return to IET London: Savoy Place

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

The Business of Events (TBOE), the independent Think Tank for the events sector, has announced the date and venue for its Global Policy Forum 2026, along with the launch of its new Partnership Prospectus.

The Global Policy Forum will return to IET London: Savoy Place on Tuesday 7th July 2026, with the opportunity to pre-register for the event here.

TBOE’s Forum examines the current economic and political climate and reviews the latest policy developments affecting the events sector. In 2025, it attracted 300 senior leaders from destinations, venues, exhibition organisers, event agencies, associations and trade bodies.

Attendees are joined by MPs who serve on the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events, plus Ministers, officials and policymakers.

The 2025 Forum, which took place on 1 April at IET London: Savoy Place was attended by, amongst others, Sir Chris Bryant MP, the former Minister of State for Media, Tourism and Creative Industries and Dame Caroline Dinenage MP, chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee.

Dame Caroline attended the Global Policy Forum to announce that a group of cross-party MPs will examine the business events sector and propose recommendations to the Government as part of a specialised Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee inquiry.

Jess Mooney, Business Development Manager at IET London: Savoy Place, said: “IET London: Savoy Place has been proud to host The Business of Events Global Policy Forum for the past two years, and we look forward to welcoming attendees back in 2026. Being a TBOE Partner has not only brought valuable recognition to our venue but also created meaningful opportunities for our team to engage with a wide and influential network of industry leaders.”

On the eve of the 2026 Forum, TBOE will host a Westminster Dinner, where Partners can meet with APPG for Events MPs in a relaxed setting to begin the conversation as to how the event sector can be better supported.

Details of the benefits of becoming a TBOE Partner are included in the organisation’s new Partnership Prospectus for the year ahead. The Prospectus also details several levels of additional partnership available for the Global Policy Forum, ranging from Headline Sponsor to Forum Supporter. Each level of investment provides branding, recognition, invites and participation.

TBOE partners receive branding on all research reports, policy documents and white papers, invitations to speak at events and join panel discussions, the shared benefits of PR and Media activities, plus the shared benefits of lobbying activities.

TBOE’s Director of News & Content, Mike Fletcher, said: “Our primary role is to raise the importance and profile of events as a driver of economic and social growth and to maximise the opportunities achieved by having a strong sector. We achieve this through a combination of Content, Engagement, Advocacy and Policy, bringing together senior leaders to connect with the Government, policymakers and influencers, public sector organisations and Members of Parliament. By becoming a TBOE partner, you’ll help us continue this important work.”

TBOE does not receive direct government or public sector funding and therefore relies on the ongoing commercial support of its strategic partners and sponsors.

Challenge Everything: Chasing the Sun Across the Borderless Global Agency Model

by jummy84 August 28, 2025
written by jummy84

By Kristina McCoobery, CEO, INVNT

The world doesn’t stop spinning, and neither do we. At INVNT, we built our global agency to mirror the modern world: fast, fluid, and fundamentally borderless. Our “Chase the Sun” model is more than a metaphor. It’s a mindset. A movement. And it’s powering a new era of global creative collaboration: one P&L, one team, one brain, working around the clock and around the world.

Because in a hyperconnected landscape, clients don’t operate within borders. So why should their agencies?

Rethinking the Global Agency

Traditional agencies often operate in silos, regionally fragmented, financially disjointed, and culturally inconsistent. Each region runs its own bottom line, its own team, and often its own version of the client brief. This inefficiency isn’t just bad for clients. It stifles innovation and limits the full potential of agency talent.

INVNT operates differently. Our single P&L structure allows us to flow briefs, resources, and expertise freely across regions. That means when a brief originates in APAC and lands with the EMEA team in London, it’s not a handover, it’s a continuation. There’s no internal turf war over revenue or resources. The work simply goes where the talent is best suited and where the client’s needs are best served. It’s a rare approach in our industry, and it’s transforming the way we work and how brands build their legacy.

Global by Design, Not by Default

Being global doesn’t just mean having offices on multiple continents. It means having a shared culture, a unified operational rhythm, and an unwavering commitment to collaboration. At INVNT, “One Brain, One Team” is how we operate daily. Whether it’s a strategy session in Sydney, creative ideation in London, or execution in New York, every part of our global team is plugged into the same ecosystem.

That ecosystem is powered by real-time business intelligence, adaptive workflows, and a shared commitment to excellence. Our teams in APAC, EMEA, and the US don’t just talk to each other, they work as a single unit. We’ve removed the friction of cross-border collaboration by eliminating the internal barriers most agencies still wrestle with.

Proof in the Process and the Performance

This model isn’t theoretical. It’s already working. A prime example is our work with LinkedIn on their Talent Connect events, designed to empower professionals globally with AI-driven insights and foster innovation in dynamic workplaces. Spanning three locations—India, Australia, and Singapore, our APAC and EMEA teams collaborated to design and execute an experiential activation that showcased LinkedIn’s latest thinking on the future of work and AI.

This client brief originated in APAC and was completed by our EMEA team in London, all under the same P&L. The project moved seamlessly across time zones, driven by a unified team that shared goals, tools, and accountability. This approach leverages the “sleeping” hours in one region to keep the creative cycle moving in another, delivering speed, consistency, and real-time collaboration.

The central narrative focused on creating a new era of possibilities, where human potential thrives in harmony with AI. The activation featured an interactive journey called ‘Trends,’ guiding attendees through key themes: AI, skills, learning, and hiring. From breakout sessions to industry keynotes, every touchpoint reinforced LinkedIn’s solution, proving the power of global collaboration when executed through a borderless agency model like ours.

The results speak for themselves: our revenue has increased to the north of $150 million, with 60% growth forecast for this year. That trajectory is made possible because our model is built for scale, for agility, and for continuous innovation.

A New Kind of Agency

We’re not just exporting projects. We’re importing intelligence. Every region brings fresh perspectives, cultural context, and creative nuance. This diversity of thought doesn’t just enrich our work. It makes our solutions smarter, faster, and more globally resonant. From business development to creative strategy, our teams are learning across borders, and clients are reaping the benefits.

This is how INVNT reimagines the global agency: borderless in mindset, unified in structure, and adaptive by design. In an industry still tethered to legacy models and regional silos, we’re writing a different playbook. One powered by shared accountability, global agility, and human collaboration at scale.

Because the future of agency work isn’t in one time zone, one region, or one market. It’s everywhere, all at once. And INVNT is already there, moving at the speed of relevance, chasing the sun across continents and cultures, fueled by one team, one purpose, one powerful idea.

Where others see borders, we see runways. Where others see nightfall, we see the next region rising. Every sunrise is a handoff. Every sunset, a launchpad. And as the world spins, so do we, sparking creativity in Sydney, unlocking strategy in London, delivering impact in New York.

This is what it means to Chase the Sun. Not just to follow the light, but to lead with it. Always on. Always in motion. Always global.
