Industry leaders gather at EDGE Venues Summer Conference to debate the future of meetings and events

by jummy84 September 9, 2025
written by jummy84

EDGE Venues welcomed more than 160 agents, hotel groups, suppliers, and event professionals to the Crowne Plaza Stratford-upon-Avon on 4–5 September for its annual Summer Conference. The two-day programme brought together the full spectrum of industry voices to share knowledge, explore challenges, and debate the trends shaping the future of meetings and events.

Jacqui Kavanagh, CEO of EDGE Venues, said:

“EDGE Venues is about more than connecting people with spaces, we’re shaping the future of our industry. This conference has shown the power of collaboration and vision. By embracing technology, reimagining experiences, and investing in people, we are not just responding to change, we are leading it.”

The conference opened with the Agency Tech Summit, where 50 agency professionals gathered for deep-dive discussions on artificial intelligence, collaboration, and commercialisation. The sessions looked at how AI can enhance rather than replace expertise, with conversations focusing on how to harness innovation while ensuring accuracy, security, and professional value remain central.

EDGE also showcased how its platform is helping agencies tackle one of their biggest challenges, limited venue knowledge, by unlocking smarter tools, providing greater transparency, and supporting agencies in their role as trusted consultants to clients.

The second day began with a private breakfast meeting for more than 30 hotel groups, who were given a sneak peek of EDGE Groups, set to launch later this year. The session highlighted how hotels can strengthen partnerships and tap into new business opportunities through EDGE.

The focus then widened to the main conference, where over 160 delegates attended multiple panel sessions covering critical themes for the sector. Key topics included market resilience, the importance of innovation and agility, and how to elevate customer experience through both service and technology.

Panellists emphasised the need for venues to adapt to evolving delegate expectations, from addressing infrastructure challenges such as EV charging points to preparing for compliance with Martyn’s Law. Sessions also explored how the industry can nurture the next generation of talent through graduate schemes and apprenticeships, as well as how strong leadership and communication can build resilience within teams.

Scott Ford, Managing Director of EDGE Venues commented:

“The event was designed with a clear purpose, to bring the varied audiences of EDGE together and demonstrate how the platform is supporting its users with tools, insights, and data-led solutions. Interactive polls held throughout the event helped steer panel conversational topics, ensuring discussions were both relevant and reflective of attendee priorities.”

The two-day programme closed with networking on the terrace, where guests enjoyed sunshine, a relaxed barbecue, and the chance to continue conversations.

Howard Stern Trolls Media As He Addresses Future with SiriusXM

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Following reports over the summer that his SiriusXM program would be canceled at the end of his contract in 2025, Howard Stern addressed the speculation head-on with a spectacular troll job on Monday. In his first episode back from summer break, Stern pranked the media by handing the mic to his friend Andy Cohen, who pretended that Stern had parted ways with SiriusXM and taken over the show.

“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen said. This was supposed to be a cleaner hand off — I’m kind of winging it.” Within minutes, The Associated Press and other media outlets ran headlines about Cohen replacing Stern.

Eventually, the prank was revealed, as Stern took over the mic to finally address his future. “Everything you’ve been reading about me in the paper… is completely false,” Stern began. “I was just getting so fucking annoyed with everyone writing me, asking me if I was okay because I’d been fired.”

Stern proceeded to recap recent events, noting how the media reported he had been fired “for being too woke. Stern scoffed, “I still don’t even know what that means. “If I’m woke, okay who gives a fuck? … Sirius employs a lot of woke people and a lot of right-wingers, too.”

“Then all of a sudden, I’m sitting home and everybody I know in my world, even peripherally, is writing me. ‘Are you okay, are you okay?’ ” he continued. “None of it is true, zero truth.”

“What pisses me off is now I can’t leave. I’ve been thinking about retiring, now I can’t.”

While Stern did not elaborate on whether he has reached a new contract extension with SiriusXM, he said he is “very happy” at the company and praised its CEO, Jennifer Witz.

Young Thug Calls Out Future For Choosing Women Over His Kids

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Whew, Roomies! The tea won’t stop spilling. Another one of Young Thug’s jail calls just leaked, and this time he’s talking about Future. Thugger called him out for not having his priorities in line, claiming he spends more time chasing women than being with his kids. Yikes, let’s get into it!

RELATED: Hotline Heat? Young Thug Speaks Out After Jail Calls About Gunna, YSL, Kendrick Lamar & More Leak Online (AUDIO)

Young Thug Calls Out Future Over Lack Of Parenting

Chileeeee, whoever is responsible for leaking Young Thug’s jail calls needs to come to the front, cause babyyyy, everything and everyone is getting exposed. If you haven’t been keeping up, let us put you on game. Thugger has been sharing his opinions on everybody when he was locked up, and Mariah The Scientist was on the line listening. The calls catch him talking about YSL, Gunna, Kendrick Lamar, and even GloRilla. He even called Big Glo ugly during a phone convo with Mariah, but he recently apologized for that.

Now, a new leaked call that LiveBitez shared, he drags Future for not being a great dad and supposedly putting women before his kids. While chopping it up with Mariah, Thugger says, “Pluto is like, you pushing the P. B****s want to have your kids, but you still gotta be like 100% locked in with the kids. You like 100% locked in with the b*****s. That’s the wrong way to go!”

From there, Young Thug said Future was going about things all wrong and could look at him as an example. He said when he got famous he started making sure he wasn’t just having relations with anybody. “Pluto gotta really just settle down and be with all the kids.”

Social Media Weighs In On Thugger’s Claims About Future

Folks were having a good ol’ time with some jokes about Young Thug’s leaked calls. Several social media users were cuttin’ UP over in TSR’s comment section, saying he was basically doing a whole podcast while behind bars. See some reactions below.

Instagram user @tierrasway_ wrote, “MR TELEPHONE MAN😂”

Instagram user @music_addicts_only wrote, “Wait Who’s releasing these. The timing 💀💀”

While Instagram user @iamdjpreme wrote, “His next album, the only feature is going to be Maria the scientist 😩😂”

Then Instagram user @lavishlifedonb wrote, “That boy had a Podcast in Jail 🤣”

Instagram user @1017timdadon wrote, “This so messy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂”

Instagram user @therealkotamocha wrote, “somebody said thug went to jail and turned into Wendy Williams 😭😭😭😭”

While another Instagram user @vickyranky06 wrote, “I think he was bored and just wanted to keep conversations with whoever he speaking with on telephone 📞”

Then another Instagram user @fatgirlhero wrote, “the messiest person you know will always be a man 😭”

Lastly, Instagram user @asia.shay wrote, “damn did he say anything about me at this point? 😭”

Now Drake Is Getting Mentioned In Thug’s Leaked Calls

It looks like Thugger had time to name-drop lots of rappers while he was chopping it up during phone calls. Drake got thrown in the mix too, because y’all know a convo never goes with mentioning Drizzy. In another leaked call, TSR peeped, Thug calls out Drake for not making an effort to speak to Joe Biden, who was president while he was incarcerated. Thug said, “You Drake, go talk to the president. ‘Aye man, let my brother out.”

Wednesday’s Noah B. Taylor on Bruno and Enid’s Relationship, Future

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

[This story contains spoilers from Wednesday season two, Parts 1 and 2.]

While Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) was trying to save Enid’s (Emma Myers) life for most of Wednesday season two — just your typical Nevermore Academy craziness — Enid was also trying to have a somewhat normal high school experience, crushes and all.

That’s where Noah B. Taylor’s Bruno enters the equation, a fellow werewolf who takes a liking to Enid. As the pair explored their relationship throughout the season, they also found themselves in some sticky situations, such as being tied up together by Agnes (Evie Templeton) with tons of knives hanging overhead in part 1 (luckily, Wednesday is the hero once again, no matter how much she hates it).

However, their relationship takes a turn in Part 2, when it’s revealed that Bruno actually has a secret girlfriend back home, breaking Enid’s heart. When Taylor initially learned the fate of his character, he tells The Hollywood Reporter he was thinking, “That’s a very interesting angle to go at it from, and it was an exciting challenge to try to still humanize the character in a way — ‘cause high school’s crazy.”

Below, Taylor opens up about his experience joining the cast of Wednesday for season two, navigating Bruno and Enid’s relationship, and his hopes for his character if he returns in the already renewed third season.

***

How excited were you to join the cast of Wednesday, which has become such a beloved show?

I was so stoked. It was so surreal ,and they were so welcoming from the get-go. It was an amazing time, a great eight months.

Your character Bruno is with Enid a lot this season — what was it like working so closely with Emma Myers?

She is incredible at what she does. She made my job very, very easy. She snaps in and you’re there and doing it, and she’s also a great person to be around and a great friend to have.

Emma Myers and Noah B. Taylor in season two.

Netflix

What was it like filming the intense knives scene with Emma in season two, Part 1, where you were both tied up together?

It was a lot of fun. It was a great forced proximity. We got to know each other. We played 20 questions a lot, except we would make it infinite questions. We would just think of something and the other person would ask yes or no questions for hours until they got it. It was a good time.

Do you prefer filming the more intense scenes or the calmer ones?

I like both for different reasons. Calmer days are fun because it’s like summer camp. You get to hang out with your friends and maybe you’re standing in the background of a shot but all day you get to hang out. But the intense scenes are a lot of fun because that’s why I do it — you get to act and that’s the joy.

To take on your character, which is a werewolf, did you have to do any specific training?

We did a couple of preparatory werewolf movement sessions, I focused a lot [of my prep] on the physicality of a really confident teenage boy; trying to get that down, making sure I knew what I was doing with my hands and my posture and my stance. A lot of pockets going on.

Between you and Enid’s romantic relationship and drama, what was it like being the ones to bring those normal high school clichés to the show amid all the Nevermore craziness?

It was a really interesting angle to approach the world from. Most of the stuff my character is dealing with are interpersonal relationships and have less to do with crazy outcasts, magical stuff. So it felt like I had an opportunity to bring a different viewpoint and more a grounded angle, which was fun to play with.

Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers and Noah B. Taylor in season two.

Netflix

In Part 2, viewers learn that Bruno has actually been lying to Enid and has a girlfriend back home. What did you think when you first read that in the script?

[Writers] Al [Gough] and Miles [Millar] took me in before we even started shooting. Right when I got to Dublin, we had a meeting and they said, “Something is gonna happen, but we’re not gonna tell you because we don’t want you thinking about it.” Then at some point, like rumors, I sort of heard about it, and then when I finally read the script, I was kind of excited. That’s a very interesting angle to go at it from, and it was an exciting challenge to try to still humanize the character in a way — ‘cause high school’s crazy.

Do you think Bruno did actually like Enid, or was there potentially an alternative motive for him to get so close to her?

I was interpreting it from a place that he did genuinely care about her. I think we see that in moments, especially in the clock tower scene and the knives that he does really connect with her. I was approaching it from the standpoint that he was trying to play it like he was too scared to hurt anybody. He should have been honest and hurt somebody a little bit to avoid hurting everybody a lot.

Obviously, Enid fully ends it with Bruno when his secret girlfriend shows up at the Nevermore gala. But it wasn’t really clear whether he goes back to his girlfriend. What do you think he does?

I’m not sure. I could see it going a couple ways. I was really trying to go for a feeling of devastation in that scene, or I’m mainly shocked, but then also like, “Oh my God, I’ve really, really messed up this time.” I think he would try to weasel back in there a little bit, to keep fighting for her. I think that could be interesting.

Since you’re playing a werewolf as well, what’s your reaction to Enid becoming an alpha and then getting stuck as a werewolf after transitioning to save Wednesday during a full moon in the finale?

I thought it was awesome. I was really excited to watch. Episode eight was one of my favorites. Just to sidetrack for a second, Owen’s performance — Oh, my God! I didn’t have any scenes with him. I hung out with him a bunch and I could tell he was an amazing actor just from the way he talked about the work and the prep stuff he was doing, and finally getting to actually see it, I was glued to my screen. He’s incredible! But with Enid turning into a werewolf and all that, I thought it was a great cliffhanger and a really good setup for next season. There are so many new threads for the writers to follow, so I’m excited.

Noah B. Taylor and Georgie Farmer in season two.

Netflix

Do you know if Bruno is returning for season three, and if so, what are your hopes for him?

I don’t know yet, and if he does, there’s a couple different ways it could go for sure. He’s probably at a bit of a crossroads and he could either try to better himself or this could kind of break him and he could go down a much darker path. I think either one would be a lot of fun, but I’m not sure.

What are you looking forward to most in season three overall?

I’m excited to see the Wednesday and Fester road trip. That’s gonna be awesome!

Coming off the momentum of Wednesday, what do you hope to accomplish next in your career?

I would love to be able to play a range of characters and branch out. I would love to do some indie stuff. I got my start working on indie shorts and whatnot in New York City and in high school. That’s sort of where my heart is, so that would be amazing to get to do something like that. Also, on the music side of things, I just released an album and that was really rewarding. I’m working on new music as well, so I’m gonna keep that going. I’m just excited for the future.

Is Fifth Harmony Back Together? The Group’s Future After 2025 Reunion – Hollywood Life

Is Fifth Harmony Back Together? The Group’s Future After 2025 Reunion – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Fifth Harmony reunited for the first time since 2018 on August 31, 2025, at a Jonas Brothers concert in Dallas, Texas. The performance — which featured current members Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui singing “Worth It” and “Work From Home” — caused an uproar among fans, who are hoping that Fifth Harmony is officially back together. So, is it true — did the famous all-female group reunite?

Below, Hollywood Life is unpacking what we know so far about Fifth Harmony’s future.

What Happened to Fifth Harmony?

Fifth Harmony never disbanded, but the members have been on hiatus since 2018 while they pursued solo projects. After Camila Cabello left the band in 2016, the group forged ahead without her. Since then, fans have called for the band to change its name to “Fourth Harmony” considering they have four members now.

“Reflecting on the past six years since we started on X-Factor, we’ve realized just how far we’ve come and we appreciate everything so much, more now than ever,” Fifth Harmony’s 2018 hiatus announcement read. “We’ve really had one hell of a memorable journey together and can’t begin to express our gratitude to y’all for coming along with us on this wild ride! … After six years going hard, non-stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavors.”

Is Fifth Harmony Back Together?

Not at the moment since none of the current members of Fifth Harmony has confirmed a formal reunion. However, they reignited the rumors when Lauren, Normani, Ally and Dinah performed “Worth It” and “Work From Home” during the Jonas Brothers’ August 2025 Greetings From Your Hometown Tour concert in Dallas, Texas.

“Where were you on August 31, 2025?” the group captioned a social media post after their surprise performance. “Thank you @jonasbrothers for having us. Felt amazing to be back.” Fifth Harmony fans clamored over the caption acknowledging that they were “back,” but they were likely referring to their Jonas Brothers concert performance.

Nevertheless, the group updated its website to feature new merchandise: a T-shirt and hoodie that read, “Where Were You on August 31, 2025?”

Earlier this year, insiders told The Hollywood Reporter that the current Fifth Harmony members were planning something for 2026 amid the 10th anniversary of 7/27. The sources told the publication that the women were working on a documentary on their return, which would include footage on a tour that has yet to be announced. Ally’s husband, Will Bracey, is leading the group’s endeavors, THR reported.

Why Did Camila Cabello Leave Fifth Harmony?

Camila left Fifth Harmony to pursue a solo career. After releasing her debut solo single, “Crying in the Club,” in 2017, Camila’s music reached global fame. She later won the Video Music Award for Best Video for her hit track “Havana.”

Camila’s departure from Fifth Harmony created quite a stir among fans. Both sides had contradicting statements regarding her exit, and the band added more fuel to the fire when they had a fifth stand-in purposely fall off the stage at the 2017 MTV VMAs.

The “Señorita” hitmaker later appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in March 2024 to explain why she “started distancing” herself from Fifth Harmony.

“I can remember waking up on tour, and going to my hotel room at like 7 a.m. and going to my garage band, and like writing songs, ’cause I didn’t want to do it while everybody was there, and I had such a passion that turned into writing,” Camila said. “And, at first I was like, ‘Oh maybe I wanna write for other people.’ But then it turned into like, ‘No, actually I want to sing these songs by myself.’ … I started distancing myself from the [group’s] vision, and it felt like, you know, they were still really passionate and into that and so, I was just like, ‘I’m not happy here anymore, it doesn’t feel aligned.’”

Despite leaving the group, Camila has maintained that she and Ally, Lauren, Normani and Dinah had no more bad blood. In 2022, the pop singer told Reuters that they were “supportive of each other through, like, DMs and stuff.”

Introducing AGFe – A Greener Future Education

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Having delivered sustainability training across the globe for over a decade, A Greener Future (AGF) is bringing together its wealth of accumulated knowledge and experience under a brand-new identity.

Together with industry-based research and UK government-recognised powers to accredit university and professional courses, the not-for-profit company is introducing AGFe – A Greener Future Education.

Dedicated to providing practice-led, research-informed, actionable training and education, AGFe will support the efforts of the events industry to decarbonise and meet the challenges of climate change.

AGF pioneered the first framework and certification scheme for music festivals, calculated the first artist tour carbon footprint, and developed and created the first A Greener Arena certification.

AGF’s industry-leading training and education programmes draw upon this pioneering work, together with 20 years of global experience and knowledge developed through helping events, festivals, arenas, suppliers, and artists to become more sustainable and reduce their environmental impact. To date, AGF has trained over 1,000 participants globally through their assessor training online and in-person courses, with courses hosted by universities across the UK and beyond.

With increasing demand from a range of participants with different work experience and backgrounds, AGF recognises that there is a need for more practice-orientated sustainability training. With this in mind, AGFe will be launching a series of training courses in the coming months.

According to Dr Teresa Moore, the head of AGFe and director of AGF:
“AGF has been conscious for some time that there is a sustainability knowledge and skills gap across the cultural and creative sectors, as well as the wider events industry. Without skilled and knowledgeable practitioners, decarbonising the sector will be much slower than it should be. We are acutely aware that time is not on our side regarding climate change.

“With a decade of experience of running highly successful professional training programmes, AGF is uniquely placed to address the knowledge and skills gap and help move the dial.

“A Greener Future Education will provide a focal point for all of our training, education, and research. Over the next year, we will be launching a series of training programmes designed to meet the needs of the sector and to fill the skills gap.

“It is our mission to help upskill the sector’s workforce, and I’m very excited by the opportunities that AGFe will present over the coming years.”

AGFe will continue to provide in-house and bespoke training for organisations in the UK and internationally having previously worked with the Royal Parks, Manchester City Council, Bristol City Council, The Royal Horticultural Society, Circular Culture Mexico, British Council India and staff teams from Bournemouth Arts University, University of the West of England, and Falmouth University.

Fitness coach says he has ‘seen skinny people die inside’, shares 8 tests that predict your future better than waistline | Health

by jummy84 August 31, 2025
written by jummy84

In an August 30 Instagram post, fitness coach Dan Go highlighted the importance of looking beyond physical appearance and focusing on internal health metrics. According to him, your weight doesn’t tell the whole story as a person’s weight or body shape may not accurately reflect their metabolic health. Also read | Cardiologist reveals ‘blood test that predicts heart attacks and could save your life’: ‘It’s not cholesterol’

Fitness coach Dan Go said Most people obsess over weight. But the real predictors of disease, ageing, and early death are hidden in your blood. (Freepik)

Get tested, know your numbers

Dan said that it is bloodwork that reveals the truth as laboratory tests can provide a more accurate picture of a person’s health, including markers for age-related diseases.

He said, “Your scale is lying to you. Your blood tells the truth. I’ve seen ‘skinny’ people dying inside. I’ve seen ‘overweight’ people metabolically perfect. My client had a six-pack at 42. His bloodwork said he was 65. 6 months later: Same weight. 20 years younger biologically. Your mirror shows your outside. Your labs show your inside. One matters way more than the other. Save this list. Get tested. Know your numbers. Because you can’t fix what you don’t measure.”

He added, “Most people obsess over weight. But the real predictors of disease, ageing, and early death are hidden in your blood.” According to Dan, here are ‘8 lab tests that predict your future better than your waistline’:

Test no. 1 – Complete Blood Count (CBC)

Dan said, “Measures red/white blood cells, platelets, haemoglobin. It uncovers anaemia, infection, immune status, and even cancer risk. Think of it as checking the fluids in your car. If they’re too high or too low, the system will break down.”

Test no. 2 – Hemoglobin A1C

“Your 2-3 month blood sugar report card. High A1C = higher odds of diabetes, heart issues, and kidney failure. This test shows how your metabolism has been performing for months, not just today,” Dan said

Test no. 3 – Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP)

He added, “Measures liver, kidney, electrolytes, and blood sugar. This is a full house inspection: plumbing (kidneys), furnace (liver), wiring (electrolytes). It reveals imbalances years before symptoms show.”

Test no. 4 – High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP)

“A key marker of inflammation. Even a small rise signals a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Think of it as your body’s smoke detector,” Dan said.

Test no. 5 – Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)

“Tracks the number of artery-clogging particles (LDL, VLDL, IDL)—not just cholesterol content. Each particle = plaque risk. Better predictor than LDL. Like watching snow pile up in your gutters before they collapse,” he added.

Test no. 6 Vitamin D Levels

Dan said, “Up to 90 percent of people are deficient. Low vitamin D = weak bones, poor immunity, low mood, higher cancer risk. We’re solar-powered. Without enough, nothing works at full strength.”

Test no. 7 – Functional Hormone Panel

“Measures sex, adrenal, thyroid and sleep hormones. Imbalances drive fatigue, weight gain, mood swings, and poor recovery. This is your dashboard (fuel, oil, fluids). Miss one, and your car has got some problems,” Dan said.

Test no. 8 – Alzheimer’s Blood Test

He added, “(PrecivityAD2TM) detects early Alzheimer’s risk with 90% accuracy-years before symptoms. Like checking for rust in your engine before it seizes.”

Dan concluded, “What you measure is what you manage. The best ways to test for these are through your GP or getting lab work by a functional health clinic. If you’re in the red, get these every 6 months. If you’re healthy, get these every year.”

On October 31st, the beloved 1985 classic returns to theaters nationwide for a limited engagement in premium large screen formats, including Dolby Cinema, 4DX, D-Box, IMAX, among others. This marks the first time Back to the Future will be presented on the world’s largest screens, offering fans the opportunity to experience the film’s scope and spectacle in the most immersive formats yet. Marty McFly, a 17-year-old high school student, is accidentally sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his close friend, the maverick scientist Doc Brown. The BTTF original cast includes Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, Thomas F. Wilson, Claudia Wells, Marc McClure, Wendie Jo Sperber, James Tolkan. This trailer shows the whole movie! But we’ve all seen it so many times already.

Back to the Future 40th Anniversary Poster

Universal Pictures is proud to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future, the Academy Award–winning sci-fi adventure from director Robert Zemeckis and executive producer Steven Spielberg that became a global phenomenon and redefined the adventure genre. When teenager Marty McFly (starring Michael J. Fox) is blasted to 1955 in the DeLorean time machine created by the eccentric Doc Brown, he finds himself mixed up in a time-shattering chain reaction that threatens to erase his future—and trap him in the past forever. Back to the Future is directed by the iconic American filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, his fourth feature film at the time just after Romancing the Stone (1984) and right after he made Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) before the two sequels. The screenplay is written by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. Produced by Neil Canton and Bob Gale. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall. Back to the Future originally opened in theaters on July 3rd, 1985 and ended up becoming an epic $389 million box office success then. Universal re-releases the classic BTTF in theaters again starting on October 31st, 2025 this fall – including on IMAX screens nationwide. Is it one of your all-time faves?

GURU RANDHAWA’S FUTURE IN JEOPARDY?” – Singer Faces Severe Criticism Over Azul Music Video, Could It Impact His Career? | Glamsham.com

Guru Randhawa’s new song Azul has gone viral within no time, but not for all the good reasons. The music video where Randhawa is a photographer who goes to an all-girls school to take a class photo has come under immense flak for s*xualizing schoolgirls and depicting them in a derogatory way.

Representing Schoolgirls and Alcohol Metaphors
The clip starts by announcing it’s “highly addictive.” But audiences were stunned to see Randhawa not only sexualising school-going girls (played by adult women) but even comparing them with different types and brands of alcohol. The singer makes at least 15 references to alcohol throughout the song, employing them as metaphors to describe women’s looks, aura, and personality. Critics are of the opinion that such comparisons are tone-deaf and insensitive, particularly in 2025, when women’s representation discourse is more prevalent than ever.

Public Outrage and Criticism
The track has also triggered outrage on social media platforms, with numerous women condemning Randhawa for peddling a “pornographic fetishisation” of children. According to them, while the roles are played by adults, the school environment validates a sick message that normalises harassment and objectification of teenage girls. Some netizens criticized the video for celebrating improper fantasies in the name of music and entertainment.

Silence from the Singer
With the backlash on the rise, Randhawa has not yet released a statement. Still, he has already disabled comments on his Instagram posts, which shows him being cognizant of the controversy. This only ignited more debate, as fans and critics alike wait to hear if the singer responds to the criticism.

Cultural Context
Though Punjabi music has had a tradition of comparing women to booze, Randhawa’s Azul is in the dock for overstepping. The mix of school references and drunken analogies has seemed to many as socially irresponsible and has brought the singer into the spotlight.
