Football Movie ‘Signing Tony Raymond’ Trailer Starring Michael Mosley

by Alex Billington
October 31, 2025
Source: YouTube

“Some of the best plays happen off the field.” Iconic Events & Southern Isles Pictures have debuted the first official trailer for a film titled Signing Tony Raymond, a football movie but this time about the coach’s recruiting job. This story reminds me of Brad Pitt’s Moneyball, about how to build a winning team finding the right people. A young college football coach (armed with a lucrative NIL offer) is sent to rural Alabama to sign the nation’s top high school defensive end and soon finds himself trying to outflank a frenzy of rival recruiters, fight off grifting townsfolk galore, and somehow also win over the player’s wildly dysfunctional family. Inspired by a true story. “Owen’s perspective brings a rare mix of insight and humor to the realities of college football today.” Starring Michael Mosley as Coach Walt McFadden, with Mira Sorvino & Rob Morgan, featuring football legends Marshawn Lynch, Brian Bosworth and Champ Bailey. This looks like a kooky comedy about the eccentricities of small town American more than a mainstream sports movie.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Glen Owen’s film Signing Tony Raymond, direct from YouTube:

Signing Tony Raymond Poster

Set in the Deep South, the film follows Coach Walt McFadden (Michael Mosley), a talented but idealistic assistant coach at Louisiana University who’s out of second chances. After failing to land a top recruit the previous year, Coach Walt is given one last shot at redemption: signing the nation’s number one defensive end, Tony Raymond — or losing his job. His pursuit takes him deep into the backwoods of Alabama, where he discovers that money, not talent, often determines who wins. Signing Tony Raymond is directed by American filmmaker Glen Owen (a University of Georgia basketball alum), director of the film Stalked Within previously, plus the “Gillian in Georgia” series and sports doc “Comeback: A March Madness Story” on TV. Produced by John Thomas, Kristy Clabaugh, Don Mandrik, and Glen Owen. The film just premiered at the 2025 Austin Film Festival this month. Iconic will debut Glen Owen’s Signing Tony Raymond film in theaters starting sometime in early 2026. Stay tuned for the exact release date next year. Anyone into this?

Monsters Inc. Monday Night Football Game Coming to ESPN, Disney+

by jummy84 October 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Sulley, meet Saquon.

The Walt Disney Co. will once again present a live animated alternative broadcast of an upcoming NFL game, this time featuring characters and a stadium set in the world of Pixar‘s Monsters Inc. ESPN announced the game during halftime of Monday Night Football.

The special edition of Monday Night Football, called Monsters Funday Football, will be televised Dec. 8, when the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Los Angeles Chargers. It’s the third straight iteration of the animated altcast for Disney, following a Toy Story-themed effort in 2023, and Simpsons-themed game last year.

The new Monsters Inc. altcast comes as Disney inked a multi-year deal with Sony’s Beyond Sports to develop more animated altcasts for NFL, NHL, NBA, and WNBA games across The Walt Disney Company and ESPN platforms through 2027.

The game will taker place inside the Monsters Inc. building, and will feature appearances by Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan, joining Jalen Hurts [and Saquon Barkley] and the Eagles and Justin Herbert and the Chargers, respectively. Billy Crystal and John Goodman will reprise their roles in prerecorded voiceover work for the game, with Drew Carter and Dan Orlovsky set to call the game joined by Katie Feeney as social media correspondent.

Notably, this year’s game won’t just stream on ESPN+ and Disney+, but will also be available on linear TV via ESPN2, Disney Channel and Disney XD.

“Each iteration of Funday Football has pushed the boundary of what’s possible in sports technology. By blending real-time NFL data and tracking with cutting-edge animation, we’re transforming the way fans experience an NFL game,” said Michael “Spike” Szykowny, ESPN VP of graphics innovation. “Our continued innovation with partners like the NFL, Beyond Sports and Disney+ showcases how technology can turn a live game into a fully immersive world, giving fans an additional way to consume sports.”

Fun Trailer for Football Doc ‘Luv Ya Bum!’ About Coach Bum Phillips

“He believed it was okay for a coach to love his players.” In doing so, he changed leadership in professional sports and left a legacy that continues to resonate with NFL generations even today. Blue Harbor Ent. has revealed an official trailer for the documentary film titled Luv Ya Bum!, which is actually a sports history film about Texas football in the 1970s. With narration from actor Dennis Quaid. In the ’70s, the struggling Houston Oilers turned to Bum Phillips, an unconventional cowboy-hat-wearing coach who built a family-first team of misfits and stars such as Earl Campbell. Together they ignited the “Luv Ya Blue!” phenomenon, challenged the Steelers dynasty, and captured a city’s heart. Featuring rare, archival footage and impactful interviews with football legends, including Earl Campbell, Dan Pastorini, Peyton Manning, Sean McVay, Terry Bradshaw, Jerry Jones, J.J. Watt, Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, and Bum’s own son & grandson, NFL coaches Wade and Wes Phillips. This premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival and won the Documentary Spotlight Audience Award. Looks like a fun one to watch even if you aren’t familiar with Coach Bum already.

Here’s the official trailer for Douglas & Harstein & Miller’s sports doc Luv Ya Bum!, from YouTube:

“Just a nickname, not a description.” Set against the backdrop of a booming 1970s Houston, this sports documentary film chronicles how Bum Phillips transformed the reeling Houston Oilers 🏈 into playoff contenders and sparked the beloved “Luv Ya Blue!” movement. Known for his trademark cowboy hat and folksy charisma, Oilers Coach Bum Phillips led with authenticity, loyalty, and a deep belief in his players, redefining leadership in professional sports and leaving a legacy that continues to resonate through NFL generations and beyond. Luv Ya Bum! is co-directed by filmmakers Sam Wainwright Douglas (Honky Tonk Heaven: Legend of the Broken Spoke, Through the Repellent Fence, Hot Grease) & David Hartstein & Andrew Alden Miller – all of three them worked on the Faders Up: The John Aielli Experience doc film previously. Produced by Vance Howard, Paul Jensen of Lucky Number 8 Productions, and David Hartstein of Blue Suitcase. This initially premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival earlier this year. Coogan & Hardwicke in ‘Saipan’ Trailer – An Irish Football Rivalry Film

by Alex Billington

“This has been shambles after shambles.” Vertigo Releasing in the UK has debuted the full official trailer for a film titled Saipan, ready for release in January in the UK. This Irish film made by filmmakers Lisa Barros D’Sa & Glenn Leyburn tells a very Irish story about an epic sports rivalry back in 2002. Not everyone will be so familiar this story over the in US, but the film still looks like a worthwhile watch anyway. On the eve of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the Irish soccer/football team captain Roy Keane forfeits his place in the squad at the team’s base in Saipan, after a heated disagreement with the Irish manager Mick McCarthy. This is the thrilling story of their infamous confrontation and what happened next. The upcoming movie stars Éanna Hardwicke as Roy and Steve Coogan as Mick, with Alice Lowe, Jamie Beamish, Alex Murphy, and Harriet Cains. This looks damn good! Reminds me of Next Goal Wins, but much more serious and with way more creativity & ingenuity in the filmmaking. Some very cool shots in here. A little rivalry representing so many other issues. Yep I really want to watch this even though I don’t know much about this rivalry at all.

Here’s the official trailer for Lisa Barros D’Sa & Glenn Leyburn’s film Saipan, from Vertigo’s YouTube:

Saipan Film Trailer

Saipan Film Trailer

You can rewatch the teaser trailer for this Saipan football rivalry film right here for the first look again.

“Choose your side.” 🇮🇪 The thrilling story of the infamous confrontation between iconic Republic of Ireland football captain Roy Keane (Éanna Hardwicke) and his national team manager Mick McCarthy (Steve Coogan) during the Irish team’s preparations for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. The intense rivalry between these two personalities transcended the game, gripping an entire nation in addition to the sporting world as a whole. On the surface, the feud was all about standards, but deep down it was an incredible story of two men whose rivalry and contempt surpassed the sport they loved. This is the definitive account of one of the most fractious falling-outs in the history of sport. Saipan is co-directed by Irish filmmaking duo Lisa Barros D’Sa & Glenn Leyburn, directors of the films Cherrybomb, Good Vibrations, and Ordinary Love previously, plus episodes of the series “Obsession”. The screenplay is written by Paul Fraser. Produced by Trevor Birney, Oliver Butler, Macdara Kelleher, John Keville. Vertigo Releasing will debut Saipan in Ireland first starting on January 1st, 2026 and also in UK cinemas on January 23rd early next year. Look good?

Who Is Stefon Diggs? 5 Things About the Football Player – Hollywood Life

From the field to sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden, Stefon Diggs and Cardi B have kept fans on their toes since making their romance Instagram official earlier this year. The couple turned heads at a Knicks vs. Celtics playoff game in spring 2025, walking in hand-in-hand for a very public date night. Though they sparked split rumors by midsummer, the two put speculation to rest when Cardi revealed in September that she and the NFL star are expecting their first child together.

While Cardi is a global superstar, some fans may not know much about her partner. Here’s what to know about Stefon Diggs, from his career in football to his growing family with Cardi B.

Stefon Diggs Is From Maryland

Stefon was born on November 29, 1993, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Stefon Diggs Is an NFL Player

He is best known for being a National Football League (NFL) player, taking on the position of wide receiver for the New England Patriots. He joined the league back in 2015 when he was drafted in the fifth round by the Minnesota Vikings.

He has played for other teams as well, such as the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills. According to the New England Patriots website, when it comes to his skills on the field, he has previously shared, “What you saw last week you might not see this week. You might see something you saw two weeks ago.” He added, “I do a lot of watching myself. Watching my tendencies, watching what I put on tape, and I try to play off of that. Just like a chess game. The ability to create space and short-area quickness is what I’m really, really good at.”

Stefon Diggs Is Already a Father

The NFL star is a proud dad to his daughter, Nova, who was born in October 2016. She’s often seen supporting him at games and has become known for her stylish sideline appearances. Her grandmother, Stephanie, also shared in 2022 that Nova practices martial arts.

On September 17, 2025, Cardi revealed during a sit-down with Gayle King on CBS Mornings that she is pregnant with her fourth child — and her first with Stefon. “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” the rapper announced in the pre-taped interview.

Cardi also opened up about their relationship, explaining how much they push and inspire each other. “Me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other. We’re like in the same space in our careers,” she said. “I feel like we’re really great and one of the best at what we do. And me and him think the same way — like, ‘Yeah, you’re one of the greatest, but what’s next?’ We just have to keep going, and that’s just who we are.”

Stefon Diggs’ Net Worth

As of 2025, the athlete has an estimated net worth of $60 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Stefon Diggs Has Been to the Met Gala

In 2025, he made an appearance at the Met Gala, where Cardi was also present, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” His look consisted of an all-black ensemble with a fur coat as well.
