When Nivetha Pethuraj took to her Instagram and announced her relationship introducing Rajhith Ibran on Wednesday, it did surprise many! Moreso because she always kept her personal life away from arch lights. But her timeline was also filled with congratulatory messages. Speaking to Filmfare exclusively, Nivetha talks about her love story and how it all unfolded.

While the engagement is likely to be held in October in Chennai, Nivetha and Rajhith are planning to have a wedding in Dubai.

How it started!

Nivetha first met Rajhith, a businessman and a car enthusiast, at a racing circuit in Dubai around 2018. While they used to see each other on and off, he finally got in touch with her in 2020. “But I didn’t respond,” she smiles. “Soon, we slowly started talking; our long conversations blossomed into love. I could feel the vibe while I was talking to him, and he was there for me all the time since the last few years,” she shares. Both the families gelled well and decided to take their relationship to the next level. “When you meet the right person you can feel the vibe, we knew about each other and everything was falling in place. We too wanted to settle down in life and we are in a good space too.”

Engagement in October; wedding in January

While the engagement is likely to be held in October in Chennai Nivetha and Rajhith are planning to have a wedding in Dubai. “We are still weighing our plans, since both have families and relatives in Chennai and Dubai, we wanted to see everything go smoothly.”

While life when being in love was great, Nivetha was still mulling over whether Rajhith was the right guy. At a time when she was seeking answers, she encountered an incident that cleared all her ambiguities. “I am a devotee of Lord Kalabhairava; one day both of us were meditating in a Kalabhairava temple. Meanwhile, I saw a dog…it came and licked his wrist and went off. I believed it was a divine calling. Since a dog is the divine vehicle of Kalabhairava, I realised that the validation came from God that he’s the right guy.”

Rajhith made the first move

The actress explains that Rajhith used to take good care of her. And it was he who made the first move. She knew it was coming, and replied, ‘no looking back.’ “I was equally interested too,” she laughs, and adds that she too agreed. The proposal was mutual and wasn’t filmy. “But I asked him that I need something filmy, so just waiting for a surprise,” grins the actress, adding that both of them are looking forward to the marriage. The best thing Nivetha likes about Rajhith is his compassion. While she is someone who likes to stay reserved, he tries to open her up and get the best out of her. “He is a great communicator; and we still say ‘sorry and thank you’ to each other” because our relationship is built on respect and trust.

In an era of social media where everything (love or break up) happens quickly, Nivetha says that it is imperative people find someone who they can fall back on. Earlier, she was an anxious person, but Rajhith’s love made her stronger and grew in confidence.

Nivetha hasn’t taken up any films in the last two years. But interestingly, Rajhith persuaded her to sign projects. “After marriage, I will take up films based on our mutual decision,” she says, signing off.

When asked if censorship and banning of music, artists bother him, Naveen Kasturia said, “Artist wali baat toh pata nahi, but as a citizen bohot bother karti hai yaar. Jaise abhi main bahar bhi jab jaata hoon, toh mujhe baar-baar aisa lagta hai ki kitna potential hai is desh mein, you know, chhoti-chhoti baatein. Abhi jaise main South Bombay hokar aaya tha, jo main aapko bata raha tha, kitna sundar hai yaar! Matlab Nariman Point ka area, chodi-chodi sadkein, footpath, toh aisa nahi hai ki civic sense nahi hai. Toh agar wahi rules and regulations sab jagah implement kiye jaayein; toh phir aisa kyon hai ki baaki jagah dustbins hote hai aur wahan sab clean hai, walking area hai?”

He added, “Toh possible toh hai! Aisa nahi hai ki hum nasal mein hi gadbad hain. Mujhe lagta hai ki problem system ki hai. Yehi cheez bohot tang karti hai. Samajhdaar log toh bohot saare hain Hindustan mein, lekin woh bahar jaake prosper karte hain. Kahin na kahin hum woh facilities unko nahi de paate. Matlab yahan pe sachchai se kaam karne ke liye logon ko zyada joojhna padta hai. Toh ya toh top pe woh log baithe hain jo shayad sahi tareeke se pahunche nahi hain. Aur jo sahi log hain, woh upar pahunch nahi paate. Yehi cheez bohot bother karti hai.”

Naveen Kasturia On How Mumbai Roads Irritate Him

When asked about what he was trolled the most for till date, Naveen Kasturia shared it was when Mumbai roads were a disaster. He explained, “Main bohot irritate hota tha ki yaar yeh kya hai? Matlab it’s the best city, I mean, it’s apparently the financial capital of this country. Itne bade-bade log rehte hain yahaan, itna tax collect hota hai. Toh kyun hum thoda aesthetically kaam nahi karte? You know? Aur bahar toh saalon se acche systems bane hue hain. Matlab corruption sab jagah hai, corruption sab jagah hai. Lekin yahaan baith ke hum Trump ka mazaak udaate rehte hain. Jabki aap America jao toh lagta hai, ‘Yaar, hum toh abhi dhang se reh hi nahi rahe. Kai sheher acche hain India ke, Indore, Chandigarh ke baare mein sunta rehta hoon. But Bombay mein, jahan hum rehte hain, kaafi dirty hai yaar.’”

Pallavi Joshi, an Indian actress and producer is all set for the release of Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files. With just days left until the political drama releases, Pallavi sat down for an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble. During this interaction, Joshi reacted to the buzz surrounding the upcoming film. She also stated that films like TBF are not to entertain the public but spark conversations around history and give clarity to everyone, including the kids. Scroll below to know all that she shared.

Pallavi Joshi On Why The Bengal Files Will Make People Uncomfortable

When asked about the cast not being aware that the film’s name changed to The Bengal Files, and how the controversy began, lead actress Pallavi Joshi recalled, “See, first of all, I must tell you ki hum jo filmein bana rahe hain, they make people uncomfortable. Okay. Aur yeh hum jaante hain, aur hum usi mindset se filmein banate hain, because we want to make people uncomfortable. There are certain facts jinko aapko face karna zaroori hai, kyunki wo systematically aapse chhupaye gaye hain. Jaise main humesha kehti hoon, agar koi ek incident hua hai aapki history mein jiske upar parda daal diya gaya — tab ki government ne, ya ruling party ne, ya jo bhi kings/rajaon ne pichle zamane mein — ho sakta hai unhe laga ho ki isse social fabric mein disturbance aa sakti hai, riots ho sakte hain.“

Talking about the historical significance of The Bengal Files, the actor said, “I understand, for the greater good, sometimes you have to hide things. Haan, ek incident, do incidents, teen incidents — but there has to be an end somewhere na. Aap puri ki puri history kaise chhupa sakte ho? Agar aapne puri history chhupai hai, iska matlab hai, there was no greater good. That means, this was an agenda. Aur agar yeh agenda hai, toh kis ke against hai? Kis se yeh history chhupai ja rahi hai? When kids came along, hum bhi young the, happy-going about our life, carefree. But when kids came along aur hum responsible parents bane, tab humein realise hua ki one day we will be gone, aur hum apne bachchon ke liye ek duniya chhod kar ja rahe hain.“

Pallavi Joshi On The Holocaust History

Referring to the history of holocaust, the actress said, “What kind of world do we want to leave behind? Tab humne yeh sochna shuru kiya ki agar aapko apne past ke baare mein pata nahi hai, toh aap apne future mein wahi galtiyaan repeat karoge. Aur shayad aapke saath wahi baar-baar hoga. So it’s better to know your past. Uske baad, you are free to make a choice — how you want to live your life, what decisions you want to take. Jaise Holocaust ki history — mujhe nahi lagta kisi bhi ek Jewish family mein koi bachcha aisa hoga jise Holocaust ke baare mein pata nahi ho. Ya America mein African-Americans hain, unhe slavery ke baare mein knowledge hai. Aisa toh ho hi nahi sakta.”

“Par hum hi aise hain jinhone apni slavery ki history kabhi nahi padhi. From Ibrahim Lodi, Mohammad Ghaznavi onwards, non-stop humare upar attacks hote rahe. Humein enslave kiya gaya, jaziya jaise taxes lagaye gaye jo log afford hi nahi kar paate the. Log bhookhe mar rahe the, auraton ko uthaya jaata tha. Aur jab laga ki ab sab settle ho raha hai, tab British aa gaye — with their atrocities. Unhone clubs ke bahar likh diya, “Indians and Dogs Not Allowed.” What kind of dignity did we have in the last 1200 years? We were slaves. Pehle slaves because of our non-violent way of life, baad mein slaves because of the colour of our skin.“, she stated.

Pallavi Joshi On The Importance Of Knowing Our History

Speaking about why we were never taught our history, she said, “Yeh sab humein kabhi nahi sikhaya gaya. Humein kya sikhaya jaata hai? Boston Tea Party. Maori aboriginals ki kahani. Australia ki history. Par Andaman ke log, Bastar ke tribes, jo abhi bhi kapde nahi pehente, yeh humare bachchon ko kyun nahi sikhaya jaata? So we thought, yeh agenda ka pardafash hona zaroori hai. Humare bachchon ko pata hona chahiye ki unke ancestors ke saath kya hua tha. Ek-ek karke humne socha aur apne creative juices use karke decide kiya kaise present karein. Tab humne teen lions ke concept pe socha — truth, justice, right to life. Truth ke liye humne Lal Bahadur Shastri ki mysterious death ka issue uthaya. Right to Justice ke liye Kashmiri Pandits ka, aur Right to Life ke liye Bengal ka issue uthaya.”

She further added, “Partition ke time logon ko bas Punjab ka massacre dikhaya jaata hai. Par asal mein two-nation theory ka playground Bengal tha. East Bengal ko 1905 mein British ne pehli baar divide kiya tha. Cultural renaissance aaya, phir 1947 mein dobara divide hua, East Pakistan bana, 1971 mein Bangladesh. Aur aaj bhi West Bengal mein demographic change ho rahi hai because of massive immigration. Do you think we are not sitting on a time bomb? How long before there is a demand for a separate country there? Kitne hisson mein aur todoge Bharat ko? So that’s why we thought ki is topic pe thoda light daalna zaroori hai. Aur tab humne yeh film banayi.”

When asked about her bond with the paps, Divyaa Agarwal said, “I think mera na kuch alag hi rishta hai paps ke saath. It’s very nice. They have always been very nice to me. Mere Splitsvilla ke career jab start hua tha, jab main paps se pehli baar introduce hui thi, tab se hi relation bahut accha hai. And now also, because of the wedding, Apurva’s (Padgaonkar) nature is very much like that — usko sabse zyada logon se baat karna pasand hai. Unko bas waise hi accha lagta hai agar koi puch le. So it’s just nice, you know.”

Divyaa Agarwal Recalls Childhood Memories Of Ganesh Chaturthi

Speaking about her childhood memories of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Splitsvilla fame said, “Dekho, bachpan se hi na, humein do religions ki padhai, matlab shiksha, mummy ne di thi. She was a Sikh, and my dad was a Hindu. Toh dono dharm humein equally sikhaye gaye, aur dono hi humne bahut achhe se nibhaaye. So we are excited about everything related to these two religions. That has always been very nice. Lekin jab dad ki death hui, tab ek complete disconnect ho gaya.”

She added, “I lost that connection, completely disconnected. I think more than 2–2.5 years tak main dekhti tak nahi thi. Bas mann hi nahi karta tha. And it was coming very naturally. Phir connection wapas aaya when Apurva first time mujhe bina bataye Goa ke Shantadurga temple le gaya. Wahan se phir sab wapas aaya. Mangeshi, Shantadurga saare temples kiye, aur phir woh feeling wapas aa gayi. Since then, actually mera connection aur deeper aur better ho gaya. Mujhe lagta hai kahi na kahi Apurva ka meri life mein aana ek spiritual reason bhi tha. Ganpati hum shuru se rakhte the, par ab jo feeling hai woh alag hi dikhti hai.”

Divyaa Reveals Her Biggest Wish

Divyaa revealed her biggest desire for this year, “I think I just want happiness yaar. Usse badi cheez zindagi mein hai hi nahi. You know, there is nothing more than that. Happiness tops everything. Jahaan rahun, jaise bhi rahun bas khush rahun.”

Ganesh Chaturthi begins this year on 27th August. The visarjan date is on 6th September.

Go Inside the Vampire Mansion With an Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Set

What We Do in the Shadows may have bid viewers adieu in late 2024, but the vampire comedy from FX is gearing up for its final bow as the show celebrates a slew of Emmy nominations.

While the show did land a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series overall, as well as Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, What We Do in the Shadows‘ incredible creative and technical teams have also earned notable nominations, including Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour), Outstanding Picture Editing for a Single Camera Comedy Series, Outstanding Period or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Makeup (Non-Prosthetic), and Outstanding Perior or Fantasy/Sci-Fi Hairstyling.

And in celebration of those teams, we have an extra-special peek behind the scenes of the comedy, as a never-before-seen video walks fans through the backstage and mansion the vampires lived in onscreen. While Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), and human Guillermo (Harvey Guillen) may have occupied the Staten Island abode, What We Do in the Shadows‘ mansion was actually built on a set in a Toronto-based studio.

TV Insider was on set for the fifth and sixth seasons of the series, where we captured a couple of the images seen above. But this new exclusive sneak peek offers an even better peek behind the curtain.

As seen in the exciting video above, it’s an all-hands-on-deck team effort as props are moved from room to room, and the walk-through offers a glimpse into the massive and nearly full construction of the house inside the soundstage.

Exclusive: Nag Ashwin’s Female-centric Film to Go on Floors Soon

Hours after we have reported that Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin would collaborate with superstar Rajinikanth for an action entertainer, here’s another exciting development. We have reliably learnt that Nag Ashwin would helm a female-centric film for which the script was originally written by legendary writer-director Singeetham Srinivas Rao.

Malayalam actress to headline

If Monday’s reports of Nag Ashwin teaming up with Rajinikanth was all about excitement, there seems to be more news to the story than what meets the eye. We have learnt that the director is all set to launch his new female-centric film. The official announcement of the project, which is set to go on floors soon, is expected to be made after the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Singeetham Srinivas Rao worked as the script consultant for Nag Ashwin’s earlier directorial Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas. And at a time when Nag was toying with a few story ideas, he came across Singeetham’s story and chanced upon it. In fact, last year, there were reports that Nag Ashwin would helm a female-centric film that stars Alia Bhatt. But those reports turned out to be untrue. And we have now learnt that a Malayalam actress would headline the new-age female-centric drama.

Wrap up female-centric film quickly

Since Prabhas’s film Kalki 2 would take time, Nag Ashwin wanted to complete a couple of films in the meantime. And a film with Rajinikanth and female-centric films are the ones the filmmaker chose to take up. A source close to the development reveals that Nag Ashwin is very excited with the story and wanted to take the film on floors at the earliest. Since the film with Rajinikanth is likely to go on floors next year around October, the director wants to wrap up the female-centric film and then move on to the superstar’s project.

Ahead of entering the BB19 house, Anupamaa actor and Celebrity Masterchef winner, Gaurav Khanna, interacted with Bollywood Bubble and spilled the beans regarding why he said yes to this season of Bigg Boss. he also got candid about how he’ll react if host Salman Khan reprimands him during the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes. Gaurav Khanna On Salman Khan Pointing Out His Mistakes

When asked how he will react if and when host Salman Khan points out his mistakes and reprimands him during the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes, Gaurav had a positive response Talking about how he’ll deal with the feedback, the ‘Anupamaa’ actor replied, “With open arms, because he is more experienced than me and he has been doing this show for so many years.”

Khanna continued, “He knows where a person is going wrong, where he’s not going wrong. So definitely I’ll take it in good spirit because he’s there to guide us. He’s the host. He’s the driver of the show. And yeah, you should learn from people’s experience and who better than Mr. Salman Khan?”

Gaurav On BB Redefine His Image

When asked if he’s doing Bigg Boss to redefine his image as an actor, or if he doing it solely as a personal challenge, the actor replied, “I think it’s a personal challenge because as an actor I have been accepted over the years and I didn’t have any show to prove that my metal as an actor. But as a personality I would definitely want Bigg Boss to you know bring my personality in forefront.”

Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 19 will premiere on August 24. The show will stream on JioHotstar at 9 pm followed by a telecast on Colors TV at 10:30 pm. On August 7, the makers released the show’s trailer, featuring host Salman Khan in a politician’s getup. The promo also provided details about the season’s theme – Gharwalon Ki Sarkaar. As per reports, this year the show will introduce a parliament-inspired setting where housemates wield authority over key decisions, from alliances to tasks.
