The couple took a unique approach to their wedding weekend by having a small, intimate ceremony in a secret wildflower garden near their Seattle home on the Friday, saving the party for the following night. “We did our vows in private before the ceremony,” shares Banks. “It was such a special moment, and I’m glad we kept it to just us.”
After their vows, the couple joined their family for the official ceremony, with Banks’s niece acting as flower girl and her father walking her down the aisle to “Baby” by Donnie and Joe Emerson. The ceremony was officiated by Banks’s dear friend Alison Crowley, who she credits with doing a great job at bringing the couple’s love story to life. And despite it being sunny for a month straight prior to the wedding day, it of course rained. “But actually, it made it more beautiful and cinematic,” she laughs. Afterwards, guests headed to Carmines, one of the couple’s favorite Italian restaurants nearby. “Our dads gave speeches and we ate our favorite dishes,” she remembers. “Then my aunt threw us a welcome party at a swanky bar nearby, Black Bottle, and I changed into an amazing Grace Loves Lace beaded minidress to start the real celebrations.”
After a morning spent doing puppy yoga (“honestly, my favourite part of the whole wedding!” she jokes), 200 of the couple’s friends and family gathered on Saturday evening for a party at The Nest at the Thomson Hotel. “We took over the entire top floor, where the Seattle skyline wrapped around us 360 degrees,” explains Banks. Following the simplicity and romance of the ceremony the previous day, this was an opportunity for the couple to let their hair down, with the popstar opting for a show-stopping asymmetrical Versace party dress (“again, the first thing I saw online!”) and a fun make-up look inspired by the 1960s. “I had so much fun with my glam that night,” the singer shares. “We did a ’60s updo with a very Cleopatra-esque eye. It was one of my favorite looks I’ve ever worn.” There was no official schedule or entertainment, just one of Drew’s friends hopping on the decks. “I know so many DJs, but I love that it was one of my husband’s childhood friends who ended up doing the music,” she laughs.
Just over a week later, Banks has the following advice to anyone planning their own wedding. “I think it’s important to do your wedding your own way,” she says. “The pressure to follow the classic traditions is less important than feeling like you are being honored in how you celebrate. I’m so happy we did it in a way that reflected our unique personalities and taste.”

By the time of the engagement post, however, it had gone on sale for $320 and was still in stock in sizes medium and above. Within half an hour of the news, it had sold out at Ralph Lauren and pretty much everywhere else across the internet, including Revolve and Neiman Marcus.
Swift has been spotted in the brand before, whether she was rocking a Polo-logo hat or stepping out in one of the brand’s wool coats on date night. But this is the biggest cosign yet from the “Cruel Summer” singer, who has a penchant for mixing midrange brands like Reformation and Dôen with designer labels like Gucci and Stella McCartney.
The airy Ralph Lauren dress nods at bridalwear with a white base, although the trendy vertical stripes keep it in the realm of “I could just be wearing this for a stroll through a garden with my boyfriend.” The 35-year-old paired it with an iced-out watch, a diamond tennis bracelet, and yet another Swift-ism: chunky leather sandals in acorn brown, perfect for that aforementioned stroll that turned into an engagement shoot. It’s the kind of classic Americana she’s always gravitated to—and sure, it’s definitely nicer than “paper rings,” but the dress is quite humble in the grand scheme of things. (Case in point: Online shoppers snapped it up instantly.) As a kid growing up in Seattle, Coco Cultr founder Jesa Chiro remembers thinking that as a little sister, “your older brother just seems like the coolest person in the world,” she says. “At least to me, anyway.” Her older brother, Munya, who she describes as a “basketball fanatic,” collected everything basketball-related he could: jerseys, NBA 2K games, bobbleheads, and whatever memorabilia he could get his hands on. Some of Chiro’s earliest memories include waking up early to go to Munya’s basketball camps, watching games together, and tagging along on trips to Goodwill with him in search of jerseys. The Chiro family’s team was the Seattle SuperSonics until it was sold in 2006, later moving to Oklahoma City and rebranding as the Thunder in 2008.
While Chiro never had the innate athletic ability or handles for basketball, she did go through a brief obsessed-with-Lauren-Jackson-and-Sue-Bird phase. (Her brother had the Sonics, she had the Seattle Storm.) After receiving a wristband from Bird at age 11, she claims, “I never washed it.” Years later, she’d find her place in the sport not by way of her brother or as a WNBA fan, but through fashion.
“Why is there not any cute sportswear for women?” asks Chiro, who sits on a patio over Zoom. While that question might seem outdated in light of countless collaborations, capsule collections, and brands like Playa Society reshaping WNBA merch, Chiro called out the gap early on. When the Sonics left her hometown, the cultural and emotional pull of sports memorabilia was palpable, inspiring her to stockpile and rework jerseys. Chiro also cites Xuly.Bët’s spring 1995 collaboration with Puma—which saw deadstock soccer jerseys reimagined as dresses—as an early Coco Cultr influence. “In an interview, [Xuly.Bët designer] Lamine Badian Kouyaté said, ‘Why not use something that would go to waste and make something new and beautiful?’ That really stuck with me. It captures how I approach Coco.”
