“One life can seem so insignificant in the grand scheme of things…” Watch the official trailer for indie film titled Paper Flowers from young filmmaker Mahesh Pailoor. Not to be confused with 1959 Indian classic film Paper Flowers, though perhaps inspired by it. This new Paper Flowers film is an inspiring true love story based on the viral HuffPost article “Thank You, Cancer.” The film follows a young USC graduate and Peace Corps volunteer who turns a rare cancer diagnosis into a moving journey of love, courage, gratitude. A quest for change in Peru is cut short by cancer. Back home, he finds strength in family and his college love. Shalin’s viral manifesto urges cherishing every moment-a true tale of love, legacy, and now. Starring Kapil Talwalkar as Shalin, Olivia Liang, Karan Soni, Tom E. Scott, Faran Tahir, Meera Simhan, West Liang, and Anita Kalathara. After premiering at numerous film festivals last year, this is getting a small theatrical run later this month. Described as The Fault in Our Stars meets The Big Sick – check it out below.

Paper Flowers is directed by up-and-coming Indian-American filmmaker Mahesh Pailoor, director of the film Brahmin Bulls previously, plus episodes of the series “S.W.A.T.” and “The Blacklist” most recently. The screenplay is written by Mary Krell-Oishi, Mahesh Pailoor, Asit Vyas. Produced by Asit Vyas. This initially premiered at the 2024 Dances With Film Festival last year. “Did I do something wrong?” “Everyone knows how much you love him.” Vertical has revealed the official trailer for an indie drama titled Rosemead, marking the feature directorial debut of DP & filmmaker Eric Lin. It first premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year and opens in theaters in December. Inspired by a harrowing true story, Lucy Liu transforms in a riveting, career-redefining performance as an ailing woman who takes drastic measures to protect her troubled teenage son. If you didn’t pick up on it in the trailer, here’s more context: “Lucy Liu delivers a transformative performance as a terminally ill Chinese immigrant who uncovers her son’s disturbing fixation with mass shootings. As her health deteriorates, she takes increasingly desperate — and morally complex — measures to protect him and confront the darkness he’s drawn to.” Very interesting. Along with Liu, the cast includes Lawrence Shou, Orion Lee, Jennifer Lim, Madison Hu, & James Chen. Looks like a very emotional story. Reviews say she “embodies Irene with a quiet contemplativeness and increasing desperation that will leave you speechless as the credits roll.”

The screenplay is written by Marilyn Fu. Produced by Mynette Louie, Andrew D. Corkin, Lucy Liu. This first premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. Lisa Kelly Rescue Drama After Disaster on Perilous Road

The Muskie Creek convoy was in the midst of utter disaster as Ice Road Truckers picked up on the scene during the November 5 episode. Lisa Kelly was making a tight turn on the notorious Asheweig Road when the ice bridge crooked beneath her wheels, causing the load to tip over. Luckily, the the whole truck didn’t turn over, but the team still needed help to get back on track. Scott “Scooter” Yuill had no choice but to make the call to Bob Danh, the operations manger, to get rescued. 

For Lisa, this was a reminder how risky the job can be. Bob was not only worried about losing the shack that they were carrying, but potentially a client. Help arrived from the King Fisher community. Scooter’s plan was to pull the shack back from one truck while pushing Lisa’s truck forward. They first had to loosen chains that were stuck. It was a dicey situation, but the coordinated effort eventually worked. Lisa had to push hard on the throttle to eventually get the trailer free. The last part involved getting the two-ton camp shaft loaded once again.

Then it was 400 miles back to Muskie Creek. They ran into another ice bridge, which was another opportunity for Lisa to redeem herself and facing the fear of things taking a turn for the worst again. She made it through, but Scooter initially got stuck before getting past it. Next came the bumpy “Crybaby Hill,” which Todd Dewey dealt with in the past. Scooter once again got in a pickle. After two attempts, it took “Muskie” Todd Friesen to pull him forward. “Is that how baby trucks are made,” Lisa said, as the one truck hooked to the other. They made their run back to headquarters.

Elsewhere, Shaun Harris was riding with his third son, a pet pig named Chris, as the copilot. His business took a massive hit enduring one of the bleakest winters. In order to salvage the season, he pivoted to Lake Athabasca. He headed to Points North to pick up boxes of store core samples to be used by a mining exploration company in Uranium City. Shaun arrived at the site to find zero people or any instructions. Making matters worse, the area was covered in four feet of snow. He contemplated his next move, but ultimately he was able to locate the right boxes. Help also arrived to get them loaded quickly. He burned through the night to get to Fond du Lac and make up for lost time. It’s there he met up with Zach and Riley. 

Todd Dewey did his own evening driving for the last leg of his offload trip. He eventually got to his destination at Deer Lake where the veteran dropped off building materials. Todd even jumped in an excavator to speed up the process. It was then back to Muskie Creek without any backhaul. That was easier said than done as he had to deal with some of the steepest hills. Going through the terrain without any weight on the trailer actually made the steering past snow banks and trees harder.

With his last run on the horizon this season, Todd opened up about wanting to get a truck dedicated to his dad, who was part of the log industry. “He was my hero,” Todd said. His father died two months after being diagnosed with cancer. Scooter, Todd, and Lisa were able to spend some rare time together at Muskie Creek before their next job. For Todd and Lisa, it was a reunion as they reminisced about past seasons where they worked together. Lisa joked about the newbie Scooter saying he had a new catchphrase, “guys, I’m stuck.”  It was a nice bonding experience for the three before going back on those unpredictable roads.

House of the Dragon favourite stars in glamorous first look at all-new BBC drama from acclaimed writer

After the success of BBC’s Mood, Nicôle Lecky is back for yet another drama and this time round, Wild Cherry looks to be just as dramatic and twisted as Lecky’s first series.

Not only has Lecky created and written the series, she’s also starring in the show as Gigi, a fellow resident of the affluent neighbourhood of Richford Lake that is drawn into the drama encircling the main mother-daughter duos at the heart of this tale.

The series follows friends Juliet (Eve Best) and Lorna (Carmen Ejogo), two successful working mothers, who are shocked when their daughters get embroiled in a school wide scandal.

Well now, we have a juicy first look at Wild Cherry, thanks to a brand new official trailer that has just landed – and boy, does it look like a series that is prime for a binge-watch.

Alongside the trailer, the official release date for the series has also now been confirmed, and will land on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday 15th November.

“In this town, they had wonderful lives,” we hear Lecky’s Gigi narrate at the start of the trailer. “It was a world of privilege for all of them but in Richford Lake, everyone was hiding something.”

We see flashes of the glamorous lives in question, from Juliet in the middle of a professional photoshoot to Grace (Imogen Faires) and Allegra (Amelia May) enjoying time at their private school together and then, going to parties in lavish homes.

But we then see Allegra admit to a boy that there’s a secret messaging app going round their school and we soon see things get a whole lot darker. It turns out that students have to pay to be featured on there, posting provocative pictures in exchange for likes and comments, it seems.

It’s clear there’s drama brewing in both camps of students and their parents as we see the adults sit down for a dinner party, which looks to be rather tense. But then things take a turn for the worse when we see that one of Grace and Allegra’s friends has gone missing, with the police on the search for the truth.

As we see both Grace and Allegra’s mugshots on a board in a police station, could they have something to do with it? But that simmering tension boils over into Juliet and Lorna’s own dynamic, with Lorna telling Juliet to not tell her how to parent her own daughter.

“Nobody knew what they were capable of – until it was too late,” we then hear as the scene shows Juliet, Allegra, Lorna and Grace all staring seriously at their reflections in a mirror. Could it be in the aftermath of something terrible? We’ll just have to wait and see.

The official synopsis for Wild Cherry reads: “In Richford Lake things appear perfect for super-mum Juliet (Eve Best) and business mogul Lorna (Carmen Ejogo), but when their teens Grace (Imogen Faires) and Allegra (Amelia May) are accused of a shocking scandal at their exclusive private school, toxic secrets and lies ripple throughout the community.

“A coming-of-age drama for both mothers and daughters as they navigate privilege, power and social media. “Like mother like daughter” rings loudly in a complex world, where danger and betrayal is never far from the surface – even in a perfect town.”

Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film, Haq, won hearts across the industry during its pre-release screening. Many stars in attendance noted the film’s courage in taking on a socially charged narrative with nuance and emotional force. Viewers lauded Yami and Emraan’s powerful performances as well as the impactful storytelling.

What Did Industry Stalwarts Say About Haq?

Following the screening, acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Gupta, who was moved by the film’s courage and storytelling integrity, called it “Brave, bold and important” and said, “Everyone should go and watch it.”

Actor Rajeev Khandelwal was taken by the film’s relevance, and said, “The film speaks about something that should have been spoken decades ago, and Suparn has done it so beautifully.”

Meanwhile, Nikhil Dwivedi praised the film’s impact, saying, “HAQ is terrific! Very powerful & an impactful film. It must be watched. Don’t miss it.”

Filmmaker Tahira Kashyap singled out the emotional power of Yami Gautam’s performance, noting, “Yami has delivered her best monologue, and Suparn has directed it exceptionally. It’s powerful, emotional, and so beautifully made.”

Similarly, Anubhuti Kashyap applauded the film’s balance of sensitivity and conviction, stating, “It’s a difficult subject to get right, and the writing balances it excellently. Reshu (Nath, write) has done a great job. It’s crafted with so much sensitivity.”

Screenwriter Sumit Arora, who has backed socially relevant projects, most notably The Family Man and Jawan, called the film both urgent and compelling. He said, “It’s engaging, socially relevant, and filled with powerful performances. Yami and Emraan are in top form, and the narrative holds you from start to finish.”

Casting director Veer Panchal urged audiences to support the film theatrically, saying, “This film will find love everywhere, but it must be watched in theatres so more cinema like this gets made.”

Acting mentor and director Atul Mongia lauded the film’s social urgency, “This film is essential. I’m so glad a film like this has been made — we need this cinema,” while director-producer Honey Trehan emphasised the film’s wider significance, saying, “It’s a very, very important film for our country and society. Beautifully written and directed.”

Produced by Junglee Pictures, in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, Haq releases on November 7, 2025. Led by Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, the film also features powerhouse performers Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady, as well as marks the debut of Vartika Singh in a pivotal, plot-twisting role.

The wait is finally over! Waveband Production has officially unveiled the much-anticipated trailer of Mastiii 4 and it’s everything fans hoped for and more. Backed by Waveband’s vision to bring grander scale and superior production value to the beloved franchise, the trailer is packed with laughter, chaos, and non-stop entertainment. It marks the triumphant return of Bollywood’s iconic comedy trio Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani as Amar, Meet, and Prem.

Directed and written by Milap Milan Zaveri, Mastiii 4 promises to be a larger-than-life entertainer filled with peppy music, colourful visuals, and the signature mischief that defined the series. With Waveband Production raising the bar in terms of scale and visual appeal, and with its cheeky tagline “Love Visa” alongside the trio’s infectious camaraderie, the trailer sets the stage for a full-on comedy rollercoaster.

Leading the cast is Daniel Casey, the original DS Gavin Troy, who has been promoted to DCI Tom Barnaby. In an interview with Radiotimes.com, Casey admitted feeling a little “daunted” and “a little bit trepidatious” about the role, but he takes on the mantel left by John Nettles with ease.

Casey brings a quiet authority and warmth in the part that helps to ground the play. He’s the calming presence in the manicured wilderness of Midsomer, giving the audience a steady guide throughout.

Surrounding him is an assortment of eclectic characters, all expertly played by a handful of supporting cast; most of whom are playing two or three roles. It was quite a surprise to realise how few actors there were when the show ended.

Barnaby’s protégé, DS Troy, is now played by James Bradwell; delivering the same bad-driving and conclusion jumping fans of the show would be expecting. While the play is scattered with funny moments, Bradwell shows up for a lot of them; whether he’s the butt of the joke or simply being an over-eager detective, he offers up that touch of lightness the show is known for.

Casey told us in the run up that “if you’re a fan of the television series, you’re going to love the play”. As one of those said fans, it truly felt like I was watching an episode in action. The staging rolls between cottages to manors to murder scenes in seconds. It creates the feeling of escapism the TV show is known for. Accompanying this is a familiar score that brings tension and warmth throughout each scene, underscoring the mystery, the brutality and the quintessential English charm that its famous for.

More than anything, Midsomer Murders delivers exactly what theatre goers could hope for: a sharp, thoroughly entertaining whodunnit. It’s two hours of intrigue and charm that keeps you guessing until the very end. Just don’t be too confident you’ll solve it before DCI Barnaby.

Emmerdale’s Kev Townsend threatens Mackenzie Boyd amid Robron drama

Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) has waded in on the latest Robron drama in Emmerdale, and in turn has crossed the wrong man, devious convict Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill).

It comes after Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) made a public display of affection for his husband in The Woolpack, right in front of ex-hubby Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

It was a bizarre feeling for Aaron. Prior to Kev’s arrival, the two seemed to be on the right track to a full-scale reunion, but that’s now been blown out of the water.

To make matters worse, the criminal delivered a seriously low blow when he referenced Aaron’s childhood sexual abuse – something which only Robert could’ve told him.

Returning home, Aaron was shocked to find Kev in the flat. He warned that if Aaron was to meddle in his marriage again, he’d kill him. Let’s face it, Kev doesn’t seem like the sort of fella to beat around the bush.

In tonight’s episode, Mack clocked that Aaron was down in the dumps and urged him to open up about what had happened. He explained that he’d had a run in with Kev, and any hopes of the #Robron love story continuing had been quashed.

After watching his best pal wander off with his tail between his legs, Mack headed to Woodbine Cottage to stage a confrontation.

He introduced himself to Kev – who was donning a pinafore and baking a lemon drizzle cake – and asked about what had happened.

Menacing Kev made it clear that he doesn’t dish out threats without truly meaning them, and told Mackenzie that if he wanted to “keep those pretty looks” he’d keep out of other people’s business.

This information was then relaid to Aaron, who said he’s come to terms with the fact that he doesn’t love Robert anymore and that the feeling is mutual.

Mack clearly didn’t believe him, and wondered whether the only reason Robert had shacked up with Kev in the first place was because they were both behind bars and had fallen onto one another’s arms for company.

After branding Kev a “psycho cake baker” (good one, Mack), it seemed like he wasn’t willing to let the matter drop. A new feud has begun.

But will Mackenzie regret crossing Kev’s path?
