Jason Momoa Had Visceral Response to Nahi’s Death

[This story contains spoilers from season one, episode eight of Chief of War, “The Sacred Niu Grove.”]

Jason Momoa has taken a lot of blows onscreen over the years, but shooting the penultimate episode of Chief of War required him to endure a different kind of gut punch.

“Even talking about it now is making me emotional,” Momoa tells The Hollywood Reporter. “The sounds that are coming out of my body, I haven’t heard before. I’ve never experienced that. I didn’t have to act any of that. I’m really going through the horrors of that [trauma].”

Written by Momoa, Thomas Pa’a Sibbett and Doug Jung, and directed by Momoa’s long-time producing partner, Brian Andrew Mendoza, the eighth episode of the Apple TV+ historical drama finds Momoa’s native Hawaiian warrior Ka’iana enduring one personal tragedy after another. At the end of the previous episode, Ka’iana watched in horror as Captain Simon Metcalfe (Jason Hood) and his crew of “paleskins” murdered hundreds of innocent Hawaiians — a massacre that could have been prevented if Chief Kamehameha I (Kaina Makua) had listened to Ka’iana’s warnings about European settlers over the counsel of his chief advisor, Moku (Moses Goods).

But rather than admitting they had been mistaken, Kamehameha and Moku not only kick Ka’iana off Kamehameha’s council, they also initially decline to use the “red-mouthed weapons,” or guns, that Ka’iana had procured from abroad to assist them in their impending battles with the blood-thirsty, power-hungry kings, Keōua of Hawai’i (Cliff Curtis) and Kahekili of Maui (Temuera Morrison). Without the protection of Kamehameha, who is also Keōua’s estranged cousin, Ka’iana sees no choice but to flee with his family. But before Ka’iana can get the rest of his loved ones on board with his new plan, Keōua effectively declares war on Ka’iana by killing his younger brother, Nahi (Siua Ikale’o).

Avenging Nahi’s death will be the driving force behind Ka’iana and his family heading into the season finale, which drops this Friday. While Chief of War was originally ordered and billed as a limited series, co-creators Momoa and Sibbett decided, five weeks before the start of production, that they wanted to plant a bunch of seeds that could come to fruition in future seasons.

“We were like, ‘Man, we have to tell more. We have to open this [story] up.’ But when we changed the structure, we knew that Nahi was going to have to die,” Sibbett tells THR. “It was also one of the areas that I veered away from history a little bit. Nahi didn’t die this way, but I knew for story [purposes], it was going to create the maximum amount of emotional impact that we need to carry us into the finale and then hopefully give us that draw for a season two. We needed the family to lose something significant.”

Like the viewers, those who worked on Chief of War had a similar reaction to the news of Nahi’s untimely demise. “I remember when we put those pages out, the crew were reading and getting really upset. I had people coming up to me like, ‘What are you doing? He can’t die! Why are you doing that?’ There was even this really small, for a short time, #SaveNahi campaign,” Sibbett recalls with a laugh. “The fact that people were reacting that way about Nahi told me we actually made the right decision, because nobody wants [him to die],” Sibbett adds. “If they’re upset and really frustrated, that’s actually a good thing because that means they’re going to need to see how it pans out, and audiences will keep coming back to find out more.”

Jason Momoa as Ka’iana and Kaina Makua as Chief Kamehameha I in the penultimate episode.

Ikale’o, a Tongan-American actor who made his TV debut a few years ago in an episode of NCIS: Hawaii, had an inkling that his character would be killed off. “I had to check my ego and prioritize the message,” he says. “Some of these deaths in major shows really, really get you. So I thought about it, like, ‘Okay, my job now is to serve that purpose of that scene,’ and I had made my peace with it before I signed on to this show.”

The little research that Ikale’o was able to do in preparation for the role always described Nahi in relation to his older brother. “Nahi wants to be somebody [on his own], but I think he figures that his place in the family is to be the follower of Ka’iana, to be the supporter of Ka’iana, and also a fierce protector of the ohana, the unit. He was always idealizing and idolizing Ka’iana as the go-to for everything,” Ikale’o explains. The fact that Ka’iana returns from his travels with a newfound wariness — when he used to fear nothing or nobody on the islands — leaves Nahi feeling “deeply crushed,” even if Nahi “held on for so long to this idea of getting together again” and going back to normal.

Over the course of the season, Nahi developed an attraction to Ka’iana’s wife’s sister, Heke (Mainei Kinimaka). In true Romeo & Juliet fashion, Nahi and Heke finally consummate their relationship in episode eight — only for them to end up surrounded by Keōua, who challenges Nahi to a one-on-one fight to the death, and his men.

“Nahi’s journey is always looking for a place to belong, because we were originally from Maui, we went to Kauai, and now we are kind of fugitives of Maui, but we’re now foreigners living in Hawai’i. He’s always looking for a place to put his feet and call home. Finally, when he gives into Heke, he realizes Heke is home [for him],” Ikale’o says of his character’s headspace in his final moments. “So when you get to this final moment where home is being threatened, Nahi’s brain immediately goes into, ‘This is where I’m going to give everything.’”

Using only his hands, Keōua beats Nahi’s face into a bloody pulp and then leaves him paralyzed on the ground — all while a physically restrained Heke can do nothing but watch and scream in horror. After she is presumably sexually assaulted by Keōua and his men, a despondent Heke returns home to deliver an ominous message to Ka’iana, who, along with his other brother Namake (Te Kohe Tuhaka), rushes to find Nahi’s dead body in the woods. (Momoa says he intentionally didn’t want to see Ikale’o until they shot that harrowing post-mortem scene.)

“Everybody’s reaction to Nahi’s death was so beautiful and so real,” Ikale’o says, his eyes welling up mid-sentence. “The way Ka’iana and Heke had mourned and how it transformed them into the fierceness of their retaliation and revenge was so beautiful, and also it feels like a compliment to me, too.”

During the writing process, the creative team decided to give Nahi a traditional chief burial. While not originally scripted, Momoa, an avid rock climber, wanted to find a way for Ka’iana to scale a cliff to bury his brother’s remains. “Brian found the right places where we could climb up and do what is traditionally what you would do,” Momoa explains. “You’d take his bones, clean his bones, wrap them up in tapa and hide them. And the person who took it up there wouldn’t come back either because it would [have to] be a secret.”

After hiding Nahi’s bones on his own, Ka’iana lets out a deeply visceral, guttural shriek in agony. “That moment on the edge of the cliff is hands down the worst place I’ve ever been in my life as an actor, because I was just in so much pain,” Momoa admits. “That was just a time in my life where I was in a lot of fucking pain.

“We had to shoot that whole scene in reverse, and once we had it, Brian asked for one more [take]. I was like, ‘I don’t want to do this anymore.’ I was at a place where I was just … shook,” Momoa continues. “I think a lot of actors want to stay in that [headspace] and keep digging deeper, and of course, you could probably get deeper and you could come across many more amazing moments as an actor. But I was like, ‘I have to tap out. I don’t want to be in that pain anymore.’”

In the finale, which Momoa also co-wrote and directed, Ka’iana will channel all of that pain into facing off against Keōua, played by Momoa’s former Aquaman co-star Morrison. “The finale was a dream for me to be able to do. I was very, very specific on how I wanted to shoot it,” Momoa teases. “It was the most brilliant thing to have full control over what you want to do and go like, ‘This is my life’s work. This is what I want to paint, and hold me accountable for [my choices]. Every choice in this is mine.’ It’s a beautiful thing to finally be able to tell your ancestors’ story.”

For Morrison, an accomplished Māori actor who even helped facilitate the show’s shoot in New Zealand, playing Keōua was particularly challenging because he had to find a way to honor the real-life historical figure — who still has living descendants — while being forced to tell a more simplified version of his story for the purposes of this show. Morrison ultimately found ways to distinguish his version of Keōua from his real-life counterpart — he opted for a significantly different hairstyle, and he didn’t want to be decked out in any kind of tattoos because his Keōua would think that his “blood was too sacred.”

In Chief of War, Keōua was in line to inherit the Hawai’i throne from his father, King Kalani’opu’u — only for his cousin, Kamehameha, to be unexpectedly named as his father’s successor. “My interpretation is that [Keōua] was a traditionalist and a conservative, and there are rules to being a part of a royal lineage. [He believes] that those rules had been transgressed and that his cousin should never have accepted what was bestowed upon him,” Morrison says.

“My character’s point of view is that, ‘No good will come from this breaking of our traditions, from usurping my right to serve my people in the way that I see fit,’” he adds. “[Doing] that will be to the detriment of my people, and I will fight for that. I believe in my gods, I believe in my traditions, I will not take up the gun, and I will not put on pants. And in order to fulfill my destiny or my obligations as a king, I must earn that by going to war and beating my cousin.”

In order to defeat Keōua, Ka’iana will once again have to lean on the two most important women in his life: his wife Kupuohi (Te Ao o Hinepehinga), who is essentially his moral compass, and Kamehameha’s wife, Ka’ahumanu (Luciane Buchanan), with whom he shares a pessimistic worldview and an undeniable connection.

Moses Goods as Moku with Momoa and Te Kohe Tuhaka as Namake in the finale.

The title Chief of War may suggest a male-dominated story, but it is really the women who are calling many of the shots from behind the scenes. By the end of the penultimate episode, Kupuohi and Ka’ahumanu are able to convince Kamehameha to use Ka’iana’s red-mouthed weapons in order to have a fighting chance against Keōua’s army. But the actors hesitate to say that Ka’iana is embroiled in some kind of love triangle.

“When we’re coming from the western industry, we automatically go, ‘This is a love triangle. These two girls are going to hate each other.’ But throughout the process, me and Luciane were like, ‘No, no, no. We don’t want to be pitted against each other,’” O’Hinepehinga says. “It’s not this woman versus this woman, because love does look different in Indigenous cultures. It wasn’t considered wrong or offensive for them to take lovers outside of their marriage. That wasn’t something that was frowned upon. From my understanding, [Ka’ahumanu] wanting to get in with Ka’iana doesn’t undermine that. Those relationships can be separate.

“There’s this dynamic between Kupuohi and Ka’ahumanu where they have this mutual respect and understanding, and a lot of that did come from the fact that Kupuohi, prior to falling in love with Ka’iana, had actually been married to a chief,” continues O’Hinepehinga. “I think in a lot of ways, she saw a lot of herself in Ka’ahumanu and a lot of the struggles and obstacles that she was facing, and she went, ‘Here is an opportunity for me to support, to uplift another wahine who’s going through that same thing.’”

Momoa promises that future seasons of Chief of War would delve further into the lives of these women, who are just as — if not more — adept at navigating the turbulent politics of that era as the men are. Although “nothing’s for certain yet,” especially given the show’s high price tag, Momoa says he feels “very positive” about a renewal.

“The show’s doing really well with critics, with fans. I get so many compliments about it, and I haven’t [heard] any really bad things. It just makes my heart feel beautiful, and Hawaii’s happy. I think Apple [execs] are very happy, and we have a great relationship,” Momoa says. “Listen, if people really resonate with it, there’s so many possibilities of what can happen. Next season, if there is one, oh, it’s all [coming] out, because this story is fucking huge, dude … and that’s why it’s taken time.”

For now, the action star is doing everything he can just to convince people to watch his life’s work. “Most people wait and binge, and I get it. But my biggest hope now that it’s out is to go, ‘Get on it right now, watch up to episode eight, and just sit with it for the week.’ I want you to watch and be like, ‘Fuck, there’s only one [episode] left,’” Momoa says. “And you ain’t going to see me for a very long time! I haven’t shot anything new yet. So enjoy what you have right now and sit with it for the week. We gave it our all. And if you love anything that I’ve done, this is the best I’ve ever given — and this is the best that I got.”

Chief of War is now streaming on Apple TV+, with the season finale set to drop on Sept. 19.

Charlie Kirk was best known as the late founder of Turning Point USA, but he also built a media platform with a large following. Also recognized for his podcast, “The Charlie Kirk Show,” fans of Kirk — who was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025 — are wondering who will carry the torch with his show. Vice President JD Vance, who was close friends with Kirk, will guest-host an episode of the podcast.

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, has been named the primary suspect in Kirk’s murder. His father turned him into the authorities.

Several celebrities, including Donald Trump, paid tribute to Kirk in their own public statements. People from both political sides called for change and sent thoughts and prayers to his family.

The president wrote via Truth Social, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Below, learn what we know so far about the future of Kirk’s platform.

Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the Charlie Kirk Show. Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend.

How to Watch ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’

“The Charlie Kirk Show” episodes are available to watch on Rumble, Real America’s Voice and the Salem News Channel.

Is JD Vance the New Host of ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’?

Not necessarily, but the vice president stepped up to honor Kirk by guest-hosting the September 15, 2025, episode at 12:00 p.m. ET, Vance confirmed via X.

“Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the ‘Charlie Kirk Show,’” Vance tweeted. “Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend.”

What Will Happen to ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’?

At the time of publication, there has been no official word on who might carry out “The Charlie Kirk Show” following his death. His wife, Erika Kirk, vowed to continue his legacy with Turning Point USA, though it’s unclear if she will provide updates on the podcast.

“To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die,” she vowed after her late husband died. “It won’t, I refuse to let that happen … All of us will refuse to let that happen. No one will ever forget my husband’s name, and I will make sure of it.”

A while ago, probably in 2017, I appeared on Tucker Carlson’s Fox show to talk about God knows what. Afterwards a name I barely knew sent me a DM on twitter and told me I did a great job. It was Charlie Kirk, and that moment of kindness began a friendship that lasted until today.…

— JD Vance (@JDVance) September 11, 2025

How Does JD Vance Know Charlie Kirk?

Vance opened up about his and Kirk’s friendship in a tweet after news of the latter’s shooting broke.

“Charlie was one of the first people I called when I thought about running for senate in early 2021,” Vance tweeted. “I was interested but skeptical there was a pathway. We talked through everything, from the strategy to the fundraising to the grassroots of the movement he knew so well. He introduced me to some of the people who would run my campaign and also to Donald Trump Jr. Like his dad, he’s misunderstood. He’s extremely smart, and very much on our wavelength. Don took a call from me because Charlie asked him too.’

The VP also pointed out, “When I became the VP nominee–something Charlie advocated for both in public and private–Charlie was there for me.”

Ricky Hatton’s ex-girlfriend Chelsea Claire has been left “heartbroken” by his death.

Ricky Hatton’s ex has been left heartbroken by his death

The boxer was found dead at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester on Sunday (14.09.25) at the age of 46 and the news sparked an outpouring of grief from his famous friends and fans – and now Ricky’s former partner Chelsea has shared a moving tribute.

In a post on Instagram, the model shared a picture of the former couple together and wrote: “Heartbroken doesn’t begin to cover what myself and the rest of the world are feeling.

“You were an inspiration to many and I was lucky to call you my partner. You will be missed so much.”

The couple dated in 2023 after meeting at a bar in Tenerife and Chelsea previously admitted she had no idea who he was when they first met, but he won her over with his dancing karaoke singing.

She told The Sun newspaper: “I didn’t know who he was but my friend offered to buy him a drink.

“Instead, he looked over at me and asked me what I wanted. I said a Fireball. We both got them then went on the dance floor most of the night.

“He’s not afraid to take the p**s out of himself and was doing the worm dance]. He had me laughing all night.

“I can’t say his dancing was as good as his karaoke. He sang Wonderwall by Oasis and he’s a really good singer. But he was just a real character and he added my Instagram that night so we could see each other again.”

Oasis were one of Ricky’s favourite bands and he became good friends with Noel and Liam Gallagher over the years.

After his death, Liam paid tribute to his pal in a statement posted on X, breaking three months of social media silence to write: “Absolutely devastated to hear the news about RICKY HATTON it was an absolute honour to know him and carry his belts RIP CHAMP LIVE FOREVER LG x.”

After dating Chelsea, Ricky went on to strike up a relationship with actress Claire Sweeney. The pair had been friends for a long time before their relationship turned romantic last year.

However, the romance didn’t last and Claire previously admitted they had gone back to being friends again.

She told MailOnline: “We’re still friends, we were friends, we dated and now we’re friends again. It’s all good.”

bitchy | Teachers are being fired for sharing their opinions about Charlie Kirk’s death

by jummy84 September 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Right-wing culture-warrior Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on Wednesday, September 10. He was shot by a sniper in broad daylight on the campus of a Utah university. Even before the shooter was captured, I pretty much knew the basics: the guy would be a white male, he would be under 30, he would be politically conservative and very online, and he would be really, really into guns and “gun culture.” That’s exactly who it turned out to be: Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old alt-right, cisgender groyper. The shooter was to the far-right politically of Charlie Kirk, and it’s looking a lot like this was less of a referendum on right/left/center politics and more of an internecine dispute within a far-right extremist philosophy. And in case anyone is wondering, Tyler Robinson’s father turned him in and Robinson’s grandma told the press that the whole family is MAGA through and through.

Once Robinson’s politics became known and the motive has now moved into “oh, so one Nazi killed another Nazi” territory, obviously, many in MAGA World are no longer interested in politicizing every single thing about this murder. What’s crazy is that the “cancel culture is bad” people are now demanding that everyone should be canceled for not worshiping their martyr.

Following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk this week, educators across the country have found themselves facing swift termination or potential discipline after allegedly sharing opinions on social media about the killing.

At least a dozen faculty and staff, from school board officials to classroom teachers, have been met with fallout over insensitive posts about Kirk’s death. In at least two instances, universities fired staff members entirely for posts deemed inappropriate. Many other educators have been suspended or are under investigation, and the number is likely to grow as conservative online influencers share screenshots.

At East Tennessee State University, two faculty members have been placed on administrative leave pending further review, school spokesperson Jess Vodden said. Complaints sent to the university included screenshots of Facebook comments, according to copies the school shared with NBC News, that one faculty member allegedly made in response to Kirk’s death, including “you reap what you sow.” Another allegedly wrote, “This isn’t a tragedy. It’s a victory.”

Vodden said the university had received “numerous complaints” about the posts. “Because this is a personnel issue, we cannot offer further comment at this time,” she said.

Middle Tennessee State University fired a staff member, according to a statement shared Wednesday by President Sidney McPhee. State officials are weighing in as well, with the Florida Department of Education sending a memo to school district superintendents Thursday, threatening investigation and disciplinary action against educators who have commented on Kirk’s death in a manner it deems inappropriate.

“It has been brought to my attention that some Florida educators have posted despicable comments on social media regarding the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk,” said the memo, signed by Florida education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas. “I will be conducting an investigation of every educator who engages in this vile, sanctionable behavior.”

Oklahoma’s state superintendent, Ryan Walters, similarly promised to investigate teachers making incendiary comments on social media about Kirk’s death, and he confirmed his department is investigating one middle school educator called out on X.

[From NBC News]

Again, these are teachers talking sh-t on social media, not in a classroom (although I think it’s perfectly reasonable for, like, high school teachers to talk about it in a classroom setting as a teachable moment). Unless their accounts are attached to their schools, the schools have no business firing anyone for “talking sh-t” about someone who had never been elected to anything?

Additionally, the State Department wants to review the legal status of any immigrant “praising, rationalizing, or making light” of Kirk’s death. This is truly insane. It’s like that possibly apocryphal story about a Norwegian tourist being refused entry into the US because he had a “fat Vance” meme on his phone. We’re really through the looking glass.

Bill Maher Condemns ‘People Who Mocked’ Charlie Kirk’s Death

by jummy84 September 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Bill Maher addressed Charlie Kirk’s assassination during Friday night’s episode of Real Time, where he started the episode off by noting that it had been a “very ugly week in America.”

During his opening monologue, Maher touched on the current state of politics in the United States in the wake of the shooting. He began, “It’s a very ugly week in America with violence of all kinds: political violence, regular violence, a lot of people talking about a civil war.”

“And then today in Congress, because Charlie Kirk got assassinated, [Colorado Representative] Lauren Boebert stood up and said, ‘We need to have a prayer.’ So they started to have a silent prayer. And then she started screaming, ‘No! Silent prayers get silent results.’ As if praying out loud gets big results,” Maher continued. “Then the Democrats started screaming at her that there was a school shooting in her state. I tell you, so far, the civil war is not very civil.”

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was killed Wednesday on the campus of Utah Valley University after an assassin’s bullet struck his neck while he was hosting a student’s event. He was discussing mass shootings in the U.S. when he was struck. On Friday, Tyler Robinson was identified as the suspect in the assassination and was brought into custody.

Maher went on to address President Donald Trump’s answer to a question he was asked on Fox & Friends about how to “fix this country” and “come back together” in the wake of a major political divide.

“Today, they asked the President, ‘What are you going to do to bring the country together?’” he recited. “And he said, ‘I know this is going to get me in trouble, but I could care less.’ He’s a different kind of cat. His message is, ‘Let the healing stop.’”

Later in the episode, Maher sat down with Ben Shapiro and and Tim Alberta, where they spoke about Kirk’s death in length. There, the Real Time host condemned “the people who mocked his death or justified it.”

“I like everybody, I talk to everybody, I’m glad I took that approach. But he was shot under a banner that said, ‘Prove me wrong,’ because he was a debater, and too many people think that the way to do that — to prove you wrong — is to just eliminate you from talking altogether,” he said. “So the people who mocked his death or justified it, I think you’re gross. I have no use for you. The people who are saying now we’re at war, I’ve no use for you.”

He further addressed the widespread reaction Kirk’s assassination sparked on social media.

“The governor of the state said, ‘Social media is a cancer,’ which I think is true because when you read some of the comments from people, they really are in such a bubble that they don’t understand that it’s happening on both sides,” Maher added. “And I think the only way this starts to get better is if both sides admit, ‘OK, let’s not have this debate about who started it. Let’s not debate about who’s worse because, plainly, both sides do it now.’ And the right has done it too. A lot.”

Following Kirk’s death, Hollywood and political figures took to social media to share their reactions and tributes to the late MAGA activist. President Donald Trump announced his death on Truth Social, writing, “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel took to Instagram, where he wrote, “Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human? On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”

Inside Ricky Hatton’s Health & Drug Struggles Before His Death – Hollywood Life

Just two months before he was supposed to make his boxing comeback, Ricky Hatton died at 46 years old. Naturally, fans and friends in the sports world were heartbroken and wanted answers regarding his cause of death, which has yet to be confirmed. However, some may recall that Hatton opened up about health struggles during his final years — specifically, with mental health and drugs.

Below, Hollywood Life is breaking down what we know about Hatton’s life before death.

Ricky Hatton’s Mental Health Struggles

In August 2023, Hatton sat down with Daily Mail to discuss the aftermath of his fights against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, both of which he lost.

“After the Mayweather fight, I started drinking a lot more heavily, and ultimately, I fell out with my parents, and that was difficult for me and I did not care if I lived or died,” Hatton said, before admitting, “I contemplated suicide many, many times. I started thinking of different ways to get through it, and I thought I could drink myself to death.”

Hatton elaborated by confessing he “couldn’t walk down the street” after his defeats because he was “so embarrassed,” adding, “I didn’t want to show my face. I know that seems a bit strong but that’s what was in my mind.”

“I thought everyone was looking at me saying, ‘He told us he was going to beat Mayweather and he didn’t,’” the late world champion explained. “It’s a shame really but was the start of my mental health struggles.”

Hatton was also concerned that his son, Campbell Hatton, could inherit his late father’s struggles.

“There’s a possibility Campbell could experience the same mental health problems as me,” Hatton said. “I have said to Campbell, ‘If there is anything on your mind, come to me.’ I nearly wasn’t here to enjoy the things that I am loving today. Spending time with my grandfather and seeing Campbell turn professional. Seeing my girls turning into the young ladies they are today. I nearly wasn’t here to experience that, as I was suicidal. So, I will hammer him every day asking if he’s OK.”

Ricky Hatton’s Drug Use Before Death

In that same interview with Daily Mail, Hatton pointed to his past drug use in addition to drinking. “So, consequently I got more depressed, and I ended up taking drugs to enable me to drink more, and it was a vicious circle,” he said.

In mid-2018, a video of Hatton’s cocaine usage surfaced, and he entered rehab, according to multiple outlets.

How Did Ricky Hatton Die? His Cause of Death

Hatton’s official cause of death has not been determined by the time of publication. Authorities were called to Hatton’s Hyde, Greater Manchester, England, home, where he was found dead. Greater Manchester Police noted his death was not considered “suspicious” in a public statement.

Sharon Osbourne Breaks Silence After Ozzy Osbourne’s Death

Sharon Osbourne is “still having trouble finding the words” after Ozzy Osbourne’s death earlier this summer.

On Friday (Sept. 12), the 72-year-old wife and longtime manager of the Black Sabbath frontman — who passed away on July 22 at age 76 — spoke out on social media for the first time since his passing, opening up about her grief and the outpouring of support she has received.

“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” the British TV personality wrote alongside an Instagram video featuring herself and daughter Kelly at a falconry in England.

“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know,” she continued. “None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights. Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with.”

Sharon went on to describe the emotional connection she felt during the experience.

“The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence,” she wrote. “They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.”

Osbroune concluded her message with a heartfelt note of gratitude. “I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way,” she wrote.

The video montage showed Sharon and Kelly interacting with exotic birds at Cornwall Falconry in England. In one clip, a falcon swoops down onto Sharon’s gloved hand to feed, while Kelly looks on with a smile. Another shows a white owl landing on Sharon’s arm in slow motion. In another moment, Sharon is seen gently petting a bird, followed by a playful scene where another bird perches atop Kelly’s winter hat.

Days earlier, Kelly shared the same video on her own Instagram account, writing, “Today I introduced my mum to falconry and she loved it! Thank you @gerardsulter for putting a smile on my mum’s face too!”

Sharon’s post marks her first public statement since Ozzy’s death. Her previous Instagram post was a photo taken with Andrew Watt and Slash at Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in early July. Ozzy died just weeks after performing his final live show in Birmingham, England. His family confirmed the news in a joint statement at the time.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” they wrote. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Sharon Osbourne ‘finding her footing’ after Ozzy’s death

Sharon Osbourne is still “finding her footing” in the wake of Ozzy Osbourne’s death.

Sharon Osbourne has thanked fans for their support

The former X Factor judge has spoken out for the first time since her beloved husband passed away in July at the age of 76 as she thanked fans for the “comfort” their messages of condolence have brought to her.

She wrote on Instagram: “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media.

“Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”

The 72-year-old matriarch has been helped by a recent “magical” experience spending time with her daughter Kelly Osbourne and some trained birds of prey.

Sharing a video of their day together, including footage of an owl gliding onto her outstretched arm, Sharon wrote: “Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence.

“They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.

“I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.”

Sharon’s post came days after Kelly also told how she had found comfort in bonding with the birds.

The 40-year-old star wrote on Instagram: “In all my sadness and grief I have found something that truly makes me happy! I never thought I would find my smile again through falconry but I did. I absolutely love being with the birds.”

Kelly previously took to Instagram to thank her followers for their support following Ozzy’s death and admitted their support had helped her to navigate the grief of losing her dad.

She wrote on the photo-sharing platform in August: “I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough … but from the bottom of my heart, thank you [heart emoji]

“The love, support and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain. (sic)”

Kelly also opened up about her experience of grief, observing that it “sneaks up on you in waves”.

She said: “Grief is a strange thing. It sneaks up on you in waves — I will not be OK for a while — but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light and the legacy left behind.”

Sharon Osbourne posted a heartfelt message to fans on Friday, thanking them for their support following the death of her husband and metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22.

“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”

Sharon also revealed that she has formed a newfound connection with falconry, which her daughter Kelly Osbourne had introduced her to the day before. Alongside the post, Sharon shared a video of her and Kelly with the trained birds of prey. In one clip, an owl glides toward Sharon’s extended arm before gracefully perching on it.

“Though I’m still finding my footing, I wanted to share some glorious creatures I had the chance to spend an afternoon with. The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence,” continued Sharon. “They’ll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It’s a bond I know all too well, and the experience was nothing short of magical.”

She ended her note by writing, “I love you all, and I thank you deeply for the otherworldly amount of love you continue to send my way.”

Trending Stories

Earlier this month, Sharon and Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne recounted his final week with his father in the first episode of his podcast since his passing. “After my dad’s show in Birmingham, I stuck around, hung out for a week with the family at the house with my kids, it was a really amazing week,” Jack said. “My dad was in an amazing mood. Every day, he was opening up the newspaper and seeing different reviews and different stories from the Back to the Beginning show, and it was great.”

Although Jack said his immediate reaction was a surge of “sadness and pain… so many thoughts,” he later said he was grateful for the timing of Ozzy’s death so soon after Black Sabbath‘s Back to the Beginning concert: “There is almost a perfection to it. He got to say goodbye in such a profound way.”
