Peter Greene died in his New York City apartment, and his cause of death is still a mystery. The late 60-year-old actor, who was famous for playing villains in films, was found deceased inside his Lower East Side, Manhattan, home, on December 12, 2025. His manager confirmed that he had a scheduled surgery to remove a tumor.

“He sounded okay … It was just a totally normal conversation,” Greene’s manager, Gregg Edwards, told the New York Post. Edward noted that he and Greene had spoken on December 10 to discuss the surgery that the Pulp Fiction star had coming up. “He was a little nervous about the operation going in, but he said it wasn’t super serious. … He was talking about that and hoping that I was going to be okay and wishing me well as I was wishing him well.”

Here is what we know so far about Greene’s health and the details surrounding his shocking death.

Who Was Peter Greene?

Greene was a well-known film actor known for playing villainous characters. He was famous for playing Dorian Tyrell in The Mask and the security guard Zed in Pulp Fiction. His other notable film credits included Laws of Gravity, Clean, Shaven, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, The Usual Suspects, Kiss & Tell,  Life on Mars and The Continental. The late actor’s most recent film performance was in the 2025 movie Beggarman, and he will appear in the 2026 film Clika posthumously.

What Did Peter Greene Die of? His Cause of Death

At the time of publication, Greene’s cause of death has not been determined. According to a neighbor, the late New Jersey native was found “lying on the floor, facedown, facial injury, blood everywhere…” per the New York Daily News.

Additionally, an ominous handwritten note that read, “I’m still a Westie,” was discovered at the scene. The term refers to the Irish-American 1970s organized crime gang from Hell’s Kitchen, New York.

Before Greene’s body was found, a neighbor said they heard Christmas music blasting from his apartment for more than 24 hours straight. A locksmith was able to open the door to Greene’s apartment, where he was discovered.

Did Peter Greene Have Any Health Issues?

Greene didn’t make any health issues known to the public, but he had a scheduled surgery to remove a benign tumor near his lung, Edwards revealed.

Sunjay Kapur’s mother tells Delhi HC Priya Kapur made every move to take control of his assets instead of mourning death

Sunjay Kapur’s mother’s statement arrives amid the ongoing legal dispute over his will. He died in June this year.

Priya Sachdev Kapur, Sunjay Kapur’s widow, is involved in a legal dispute over his multimillion-dollar estate. The trouble began when his children, with his former wife and actor Karisma Kapoor, approached the Delhi High Court, claiming Priya forged Sunjay’s will. On Monday, Sunjay Kapur’s mother told the Delhi High Court that instead of grieving his death, Priya Kapur made every move to take control of his assets. Amid a row over his inheritance, Sunjay Kapur’s mother (middle) also made submissions to the court. (LinkedIn/Sunjay Kapur)

What Sunjay’s mother claimed

As per the latest update shared by news agency PTI, the Delhi High Court on Monday heard allegations from Rani S Kapur. She said she was never told about her son’s will. The submissions were made before Justice Jyoti Singh during the hearing of a suit of Karisma Kapoor’s children. The court listed the matter for further arguments on December 3.

More details

Meanwhile, senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, representing Rani, said that marital discord between Sunjay and Priya started in May 2023 and there were constant fights. The plea read that it was “highly unlikely and improbable that Sunjay would make Priya the sole beneficiary of his personal estate”. It went on to add that her late son shared “a deep bond and equal affection with all his children, his mother and other members of the Kapur family”. Furthermore, Gaggar claimed that instead of grieving Sunjay’s death, Priya made every possible move to take control of his assets, and alleged that the daughter-in-law concealed massive assets belonging to him.

Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading auto parts manufacturer. He died in June in London while playing a polo match. Sunjay was married to Karisma from 2003 to 2016, and they had two children together. He married Priya in 2017.

Praising her for her talent and warmth, the actor added, “A most pleasant warm affectionate and talented artist, has left us .. at the age of 98 .. an era of great remembrance gone .. not just for the film fraternity, but as a member of the friends fraternity .. One by one they all are leaving us .. a most sad moment, filled only now with condolence and prayer .. .. her legendary performances of those early days, now just memories ..”

Death in the Family' Star Jason Clarke on Narcissist Role

Death in the Family’ Star Jason Clarke on Narcissist Role

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

How do you best tell a tragic story that everyone already seems to know? For “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” star and executive producer Jason Clarke, you have a little fun with it. Well, with an asterisk.

“I’ll give it to you straight up: it’s enjoyable being a narcissist,” Clarke said during a recent chat with IndieWire as part of our Pass the Remote panel series, presented in partnership with Disney, to celebrate the art and craft of TV. “It’s enjoyable being a good ol’ boy, you know what I mean? It’s good to be the king! There’s that whole side of it. Narcissism? I looked and thought about that a lot. A lack of empathy as well, ultimately. Which is where he truly ends up, with a lack of empathy. The man stands by his decision, I guess, in still not coming clean.”

Poker Face

In the miniseries, Clarke stars as convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh (complete with Southern accent and rusty red hair), infamous for killing his wife Maggie (Patricia Arquette) and son Paul (Johnny Berchtold) in 2021 following years of interfamily drama, trauma, and oops, yes, other mysterious deaths. For Clarke, tapping into Alex’s most basic (and base) desires was key to unlocking his character.

During the panel, hosted by IndieWire’s own Editor in Chief & Senior Vice President Dana Harris-Bridson, some of the limited series’ cast and crew joined Pass the Remote to talk about their meticulously researched show and what they hope viewers get out of it. Clarke was joined by co-creator and executive producer Erin Lee Carr; co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer Michael D. Fuller; hair department head Katie Ballard; casting director John Papsidera; and makeup department head Addison Foreman.

And while Clarke was joking a bit about enjoying the process, Clarke clearly relished tapping into whatever it is that makes Alex tick and applying it to his performance. He also credited Ballard and Foreman for assisting that transformation, not just through their own craft work, but by similarly diving head-long into a journey through “absurdity and vulgarity.” And Will Ferrell outtakes?

“There’s the mechanical way of going through that and processing it, and then there’s the subconscious way of just doing it,” Clarke said. “I’ll say, with Addison and Katie, we used to listen to what you could term narcissistic music and dance. … You have to stay happy! It’s not easy being a full-time narcissist, it’s a full-time job. Katie and Addison, who were in my space so much and were probably two of the only people I let into my space to see my absurdity and my vulgarity at times and my bad temper. … We’d do a lot of things, watch Will Ferrell to laugh, to get into, ‘fuckin’ the plums, just drippin’ down my chin!’ You have to have the big thing, to go out and just think, ‘Fuck it! I’m just concerned about me!’”

How Did Virginia Giuffre Die? About the Epstein Accuser’s Death – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Virginia Giuffre, a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein‘s sex trafficking scheme and a Prince Andrew accuser, died on April 25, 2025, three weeks after revealing she had been in a car accident. In a statement following the news of her death, Giuffre’s family described her as a “fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking” and “the light that lifted so many survivors,” according to The New York Times.

Below, learn everything we know about Giuffre, how she died and the automobile accident she was in.

How Old Was Virginia Giuffre When She Died?

Giuffre was 41 years old when she died.

Who Was Virginia Giuffre?

Best remembered for being a voice against Epstein and Prince Andrew, Giuffre sued Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in 2009 of recruiting her to join his sex-trafficking ring while Giuffre was still a minor. She additionally accused them or forcing her to have sex with Prince Andrew. At the time of her lawsuit, Giuffre identified herself as Jane Doe 102.

In her lawsuit against Epstein, Giuffre said she was recruited into his sex-trafficking ring in 2000 while working as a locker room attendant at Donald Trump‘s Palm Beach, Florida, resort, Mar-a-Lago. According to Giuffre, Maxwell invited her to work as Epstein’s traveling masseuse, then Maxwell and Epstein groomed her into performing sexual acts for opulent men.

In 2015, Giuffre became the first of Epstein’s survivors to forgo her anonymity and reveal her name. “Ghislaine told me that I have to do for Andrew what I do for Jeffrey,” Giuffre said at the time.

In 2021, Giuffre sued Andrew, and he agreed to settle the lawsuit in 2022. At the time, the prince — who is King Charles III‘s younger brother — applauded Giuffre for going public with her story, and he vowed to “demonstrate his regret” for his connection to Epstein “by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims,” per NYT.

On July 29, 2025, Trump publicly stated that Epstein had “stolen” staff from the spa at Mar‑a‑Lago—among them, he believes, Virginia. Trump said he cut ties with Epstein after warning him that “taking people that work for me is bad” and asserted that Giuffre “had no complaints about us whatsoever”

How Did Virginia Giuffre Die?

Giuffre announced that she was given four days to live as a result of renal failure. She had been hospitalized after being hit by a bus that was allegedly driving 110 kilometers per hour, which is roughly miles per hour.

On April 25, 2025, Giuffre’s family confirmed that she had died by suicide, according to a statement obtained by NBC News.

“It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia,” the statement read. “She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors,” the statement said. “In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.”

Virginia Giuffre’s Accident

On March 30, 2025, Giuffre revealed she had been hospitalized from a car accident and that she was diagnosed with renal failure, also known as kidney failure. She shared an Instagram selfie with her facial bruises on full display.

“This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details, but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn, that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can,” Giuffre wrote in her caption. “I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology. I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes. S**t in one hand and wish in the other & I guarantee it’s still going to be s**t at the end of the day.”

Giuffre concluded her post by bidding her supporters “farewell,” writing, “Thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life. Godbless you all xx Virginia.”

In 2023, Giuffre revealed she had undergone spinal surgery in an Instagram post.

Why Did They Kill off Monty in Landman Season 1? Unpacking His Death – Hollywood Life

Landman has gripped viewers since its inception on Paramount+. After the Taylor Sheridan series aired in November 2024, fans were hooked on the show’s thrills and chills as its characters navigated the dangers of the oil business. But one beloved actor left the show by the end of season 1: Jon Hamm, who played Monty Miller. So, why was his character killed off?

Find out why Monty had to die at the end of Landman‘s first season, here.

What Happened to Monty in Landman Season 1?

Monty’s death isn’t shown on screen, but the production has confirmed that the character died in his hospital bed from his heart attack. He had suffered from multiple heart attacks until the end of his life.

Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) was informed by the season 1 finale that Monty was going to die. So, Monty offered Tommy to take over as president of M-Tex and become the executor of his estate alongside Monty’s wife, Cami (Demi Moore).

Why Isn’t Jon Hamm Coming Back to Landman?

Although the actor is a fan-favorite TV and film star, his character Monty’s death was inevitable in Landman. While speaking with TV Insider in January 2025, co-creator Christian Wallace said they hinted at Monty’s decline throughout the first season.

“Yeah, you kind of drop these little pieces throughout the entire season,” Christian explained “There’s Monty checking his heart rate on his watch or his wife Cami telling him no more coffee, and just little things that were dropped this entire time to kind of let you know that something’s going on so that when it does finally happen, it’s not just completely out of nowhere.”

Christian added, “But you also don’t wanna be too heavy-handed about it and just telegraph that explicitly to the viewers. So, it’s just kind of a matter of trying to strike that balance of letting people know that there’s an issue without making it just the only thing that they can think about.”

When Does Landman Season 2 Premiere?

Season 2 of Landman airs on November 16, 2025, on Paramount+. All new episodes will be released weekly until the season 2 finale in January 2026.

Is There a Season 3 of Landman?

As of now, no — Landman has not been renewed yet for a season 3, but the cast is hopeful about the possibility. During an exclusive November 2025 interview with Hollywood Life, actor Mark Collie teased that there are “more stories to tell.”

“The longer [the show] goes, I’m here because I love it,” Mark said.

Netflix's 'Death By Lightning' Director Matt Ross Interview

Netflix’s ‘Death By Lightning’ Director Matt Ross Interview

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

[Editor’s note: This interview contains spoilers for “Death by Lightning.”]

We all only have one wild and precious life to live, and while James A. Garfield couldn’t spend any of his watching a Netflix miniseries, director Matt Ross wants any story we do spend two or four or 10 hours on to be worth it. Ross immediately knew he’d found such a story on reading Mike Makowsky’s script for “Death by Lightning,” which follows both Garfield (Michael Shannon) and his eventual assassin Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen) from the former’s surprise nomination for President at the 1880 Republican National Convention through the latter’s hanging for murder. He wanted to take on the challenge of making the visual storytelling feel as immediate, surprising, and modern as Makowsky’s script read.

Poker Face

Much of that work, Ross told IndieWire, has nothing to do with the cinematic apparatus itself. “I want to be taken away and not the whole time think, ‘Oh, great shot. Oh, that’s an interesting costume choice. Oh, why did they choose to shoot it that way?’” Ross said. “I want to have an intellectual and emotional response.”

The intellectual and emotional response to “Death by Lightning,” for Ross, is all wrapped up in people — and in picnic tables. “[The script] wasn’t a history lesson. It was through the prism of these two men who I think represented very polar opposites of a desire for legacy — a thing men probably, historically, had more of a desire for because of women’s lack of agency in patriarchal societies, right? There’s this desire to matter,” Ross said. “The meaning of the entire thing is the last scene with Crete [Betty Gilpin] and her children… These two men are left with nothing. They’re both dead. The actual legacy is our friends and our family — the love we share, the people we connect with while we’re alive.”

Ross’s task for “Death by Lightning,” then, was to realize a group of people and make their surprising complexity be the thing that matters far more than any turn of the plot — which is, after all, just a Wikipedia article away. Knowing that thematic idea is the destination the series is driving toward allowed Ross to build a team and direct accordingly.

When thinking about Garfield and Guiteau, Ross wanted to bring on actors who could flex new sides of themselves and slightly play with an audience’s expectation of their personas. It is a testament to Matthew Macfadyen’s acting chops (and awful haircut) that you really do believe no one in the Oneida free love commune to which Guiteau belonged for five years wants to have sex with Mr. Darcy. Michael Shannon has a history of playing, shall we say, rather intense individuals; “Death by Lightning” was a chance for him to embody much more of a Clark Kent than a General Zod.

“ I try and cast, personally, the same way one casts in theater — which is to say, you’re assuming that this person can do anything. So what have they not done recently that might be fun for them to do, you know?” Ross said. “Then it just becomes a conversation of how you illuminate the humanity of the characters, because for me, I didn’t want Garfield to be a one-note good guy. I wanted him to be grumpy and complicated and angry at times, frustrated, and have his own maybe nascent ambitions.”

Ross gives full credit to the actors — “I learned like 35 years ago, and it’s true, that there’s a misconception about an actor/director relationship that somehow a director is getting something from an actor. I think that’s a negation of an actor’s talent. I don’t get anything from them that they don’t want to give me,” Ross said. There’s only the work of collaborating on the right levels on the day, trying something a little more or a little less, or experimenting with different eyes, and there is the small, invisible work that Ross does behind the camera to properly focus the audience on an actor’s performance.

An example of this is the scene where Guiteau is hanged for Garfield’s assassination. The setup is quite simple. We follow Guiteau across the prison yard from the front (the better to see the poem he has written for the grand occasion) and behind, two other views of the crowd (spotty) and the gallows (simple). Once on the gallows, Ross mostly sticks to a pretty straight-on medium closeup of Guiteau as the noose is put around his neck. We get the most devastatingly silent “Wow, is this thing on?” reaction shot from the observers after Guiteau sings “I’m Going to the Lordy” and laughs, thrilled at his own handiwork. It’s all perfectly serviceable, invisible filmmaking.

Then just as simply and invisibly, Ross tightens the visual noose. The camera slowly pushes in on Guiteau’s face as he absorbs the silence, and lets out an “Oh” so horrified you can almost hear the italics. “We thought that would be powerful,” Ross said. “Matthew and I talked about what that would be — I mean, here’s a man who was in prison for murder and he was writing a manifesto and trying to solicit a wife and all this craziness, and he thought it would change everything and that he would be saved and loved and he was making jokes on the way to the gallows, but… would it not be profound for this man, if at the very last moment, he realizes his insignificance.”

A dance between performer and camera like that one requires a clear, shared vision for the emotional intent of a scene, a willingness to play and experiment, and trust that the story is, in fact, worth the four hours. “I could spend an hour discussing what each actor brought, whether it’s, you know, the emotional power that Betty brings or Nick [Offerman, or Shea Wigham], but with each person, I just want to illuminate them and their work. We’re only as good as the people with whom we play, and they all brought their A game and were so willing to explore and to try to push the characters in different ways.”

“Death by Lightning” is now streaming on Netflix.

“Are you the one they’re looking for?” “Do you think I am?” Who is who in this mystery thriller? Take a look at the official trailer for an indie suspense thriller called Death Among the Pines, latest from filmmaker / actor Nathan Shepka – who both stars in and directs this film. From the same team behind this year’s other gothic chiller The Baby in the Basket comes a new Hitchcock-inspired mystery thriller called Death Among the Pines. One night during a heavy rainstorm, a stranded stranger knocks on the door of Angela’s country cottage, claiming his car has broken down. Angela allows him in to shelter but soon a police officer arrives, asking questions, amid conducting a manhunt for an escaped criminal. Angela puts two & two together, but is there more to it than meets the eye? Starring Nathan Shepka and Nicolette McKeown as Angela, with Stephen Kerr and Olly Bassi. The trailer starts a bit slow but builds up to some real fascinating intrigue.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Nathan Shepka’s film Death Among the Pines, from YouTube:

“Some secrets should stay buried.” One night during a heavy rainstorm, a stranded stranger knocks on the door of Angela’s (Nicolette McKeown) country cottage, claiming his car has broken down. Angela warily lets him in to shelter but soon after, a police officer arrives, asking questions, amid conducting a manhunt for an escaped criminal. Angela puts two & two together, but is there more to it than she thinks?
