bitchy | Prince Harry will do four days of charity work in the UK, much to his family’s chagrin

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Prince Harry has either arrived in the UK as of this writing, or he will be there shortly. We’ve known for weeks/months that Harry would visit the UK for the annual WellChild Awards, and I assumed that he would also do some events with some other charities, like Scotty’s Little Soldiers. What I didn’t predict was that Harry plans to be in the UK for much of this coming week, and he has a somewhat public schedule. Meaning, a handful of British (and American, one would assume) media outlets will be allowed to attend his events, and some of the events might be public in some sense. This information comes from an overwrought exclusive by Roya Nikkhah in the Sunday Times. Some highlights:

Harry wants to bring his kids to visit the UK: Those close to Harry say he will not give up hope on bringing [his children] here. There is now an acknowledgment by the prince and his camp that pressing the nuclear button of a public battle with His Majesty’s government and courts was not the wisest idea, a case which is reported to have cost Harry more than £1 million. He will now pursue a quieter, under-the-radar approach — those close to the prince say the government should expect private “lobbying” from the prince on the matter to continue. A friend says: “He’s not given up hope on bringing his family back to the UK. He wants to be able to show his children where he grew up. He wants them to know their family here. He really would like to come back to the UK much more.”

His fun week: The prince’s friends say he is “going to have some fun” this week. Harry’s previous default setting of glowering in courtrooms will switch to what he does best: supporting and championing children, young people, the military and rolling his sleeves up with his charities and patronages. Tomorrow, the third anniversary of his grandmother’s death, he will be in London for the WellChild Awards hosted by the charity supporting seriously ill children, of which he is patron. On Tuesday, he will head out of town for an engagement focused on helping young people affected by violence. On Wednesday and Thursday, he will attend private receptions and meetings with most of his other charities and patronages, including the Invictus Foundation, the Diana Award and Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the charity for bereaved military children. Harry’s itinerary, which will be covered by select media considered friendly towards the prince, is said to be “jam-packed with hardly any downtime.”

No meeting between Charles & Harry is scheduled: A newspaper headline last week declaring “Harry to meet Charles” was wishful thinking. In fact, as of last weekend, no meeting between father and son was scheduled. That may or may not change in the coming days, but if a meeting happens, there is unlikely to be any public post-match analysis from either camp. Friends of Harry’s say the ball is firmly in the royal family’s court. “He’s made it absolutely clear he wants a reconciliation with his family. It’s on them now,” says one. But those in royal circles see it differently and wish Harry would stop making such public pleas. His unwise choice of words about Charles’s health and repeated suggestion that the King should have intervened in his security battle — something the monarch would never consider, given his constitutional role — have not helped Harry’s cause. As a friend of the King’s tells me: “The water is still pretty chilly on that front.” It is understood there is currently “no direct communication at all at the moment” between father and son.

Harry’s newspaper lawsuits: There is also an acknowledgment from those close to Harry that several long-running legal battles, which have taken up vast amounts of his time, energy and money, have been “a major distraction”. His fight with Associated Newspapers, publishers of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, over allegations of historical phone hacking and unlawful information-gathering, is set for a nine-week trial in January, but may end in an out-of-court settlement. With most of his legal preparation done for that case, friends say Harry is now “in a really good headspace, looking forwards”.

Looking forward: Friends say there is a “Sentebale-shaped hole” in his life, referring to the charity he set up in 2006 with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in memory of their late mothers, to support children affected by HIV and Aids in southern Africa. Since stepping down as Sentebale’s patron in March amid a very public and bitter row with the charity’s chairwoman, Sophie Chandauka, he has been thinking about how to fill that hole, either with a new charity or by working with another organisation. One close friend who may get a call is Sir Elton John, a firm friend of the Sussexes who previously lent them his villa in the south of France while they were working royals, and has been a vocal supporter of the couple since their departure from royal life. His eponymous Aids foundation has a global reach and could be a good fit for a prince looking for new ways to support children affected by HIV and AIDS.

The Sussexes’ money: Harry also needs to keep earning. A lot. Multimillion-pound deals for his book and with the streamers Netflix and Spotify are in the rear-view mirror, but there are still hefty security bills to pay and a reported £6 million mortgage on the Sussexes’ sprawling home in Montecito, California. As Harry receives no public funding from the sovereign grant or privately from the royal family, overseas trips, such as this week’s visit to the UK, cost him six-figure sums. He pays personally for the travel and accommodation of his entourage. Harry has rejected offers from the King to stay at Buckingham Palace and the hotel bills mount up. While Meghan, 44, is busy building her As Ever brand selling homeware, rosé wine and raspberry spreads, Harry is thinking about his next “commercial venture”. Those close to him say it will not be a sequel to Spare, or another tell-all Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary. His next project to boost the Sussex coffers will be a “social enterprise with a social conscience”.

Stepping on William & Kate’s nonexistent schedule: No such attempt has yet been made to open lines of communication with his brother’s team and Harry’s engagements this week will clash with William and Kate on manoeuvres. A source close to Harry says: “At the end of the day, as he’s no longer a member of the institution, he doesn’t feel bound to de-conflict his diary with the institution.”

[From The Times]

This is the first I’m hearing that the Mail might settle with Harry. That’s interesting. As for his schedule, according to the BBC, Harry will travel to Nottingham on Tuesday, where he will announce a “substantial” personal donation to Children in Need. Which is a charity supporting “work tackling violence and its effect on young people.” It’s fascinating that he’s basically going to work more in a week than William and Kate have done in four months. As The Royalist Substack hilariously pointed out, “The Prince of Wales will likely view Harry’s re-entry into the charitable sphere in the U.K. as a direct encroachment on his territory. That Harry’s event comes with the promise of ‘substantial’ personal funding makes the point sharper still. He could be seen as doing precisely what William most fears: turning his independent wealth and celebrity into a power base within Britain.” Tom Sykes also wrote: “Given William and Kate’s ongoing withdrawal from almost all real, community-level public engagements, we will be left in the odd situation this week where the estranged son of the King will be the Windsor most visibly engaging with the country’s poorest young people. That is bound to irritate any family members already intensely uneasy about his return.”

From the Archives: The Early Days of Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf

“Meeting Your Match,” by Dodie Kazanjian, was originally published in the August 2004 issue of Vogue.

For more of the best from Vogue’s archive, sign up for our Nostalgia newsletter here.

From their hilltop estate in Tiburon, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf can look across the bay and see San Francisco preening itself in the sun, while one tower of the Golden Gate Bridge rises magically above a puffy cloud bank. The tennis world’s royal couple—the most spectacular example of a marital merger between two number-one athletes—have spent the whole morning being photographed for Vogue. In their mid-30s, tanned and fit, they both project the silky, contained energy of great athletes, athletes who, though blissfully young by ordinary standards, are already considered old in their chosen profession.

The most dominant woman player of her time, Steffi won 22 Grand Slam titles before she retired in 1999, at the age of 30. This July, she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island. Andre has won eight Grand Slams so far, but at the astonishingly advanced age (for tennis) of 34, he could yet win another. Tennis is increasingly a young man’s game these days, and the odds against Agassi are daunting, but it’s still too early to count him out. His phenomenal comeback is already a tennis legend. In 1997, having slipped to 141 in the rankings, he remade himself through an all-out regimen of rigorous physical training; by 1999, he was number one in the world, and he’s been at or near the top ever since, winning the Australian Open last year and more than holding his own against the newest generation of power hitters. “I have an insane amount of respect for him,” Andy Roddick said recently. “The way he competes—he treats every match like it’s Armageddon.”

Andre, his coach Darren Cahill, his lawyer and close friend Todd Wilson, and Gene Marshall, a Las Vegas friend who is also helping him train, are barreling over the Golden Gate Bridge in Andre’s Lincoln Navigator, with me following anxiously in my rented Pontiac, trying to keep them in sight. Andre, who drives with the same speed and confidence he brings to the court, is headed for the Olympic Club in San Francisco. He’s getting ready for the French Open, which starts in two weeks, and he needs to practice on a clay surface like the ones at Roland Garros. His own court in Tiburon has a hard surface, and there aren’t any clay courts in Las Vegas, his real home, in good enough shape. We park on the road above the tennis courts at this famous club, whose golf course has often been host to the U.S. Open. For the next hour and a half, Darren feeds him backhands and forehands, and Andre rockets them back, clipping the lines in the corners, grunting vigorously on every shot. “That’s great tennis,” Darren says more than once. (Not great enough, apparently; in the weeks after my visit, Agassi got knocked out in the first round at the French Open and two other European tournaments—the first time since August 1997 he’s lost three straight opening-round matches—and then withdrew from Wimbledon, citing a hip injury.) But Andre is not entirely happy with his game today. His rhythm is a little off, he says, and the surface is too powdery.

Ahaan Panday & Aneet Padda’s Special Post on Saiyaara Completing 50 Days in Cinemas

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, the lead pair of this year’s huge hit, Saiyaara, marked a special milestone as their debut film completed 50 days in cinemas. To celebrate, the two shared a heartfelt joint post on social media, along with a set of three serene pictures captured at the iconic Mount Mary Church in Bandra.
Their caption reflected gratitude, magic, and humility, as they opened up about the love and support they’ve received since the release of Saiyaara. “Today marks 50 days of a film that brought us to the world and the world to us,” they wrote. The note went on to emphasize how the film connected deeply with audiences, describing the response as a “testament to the fact that if you believe in magic, the world may just feel it with you.”

The emotional post also thanked viewers for embracing their journey with such honesty and vulnerability. “The way you felt something with us, the way you made what was one of a kind for us, yours too,” they expressed, adding that the most valuable lesson they carry forward is the reminder that “honesty and love are more powerful than anything else in this world.”
The pictures accompanying the post showed the actors in a cozy mood, standing side by side at the historic Bandra church, an amazing backdrop for the occasion. The understated yet meaningful celebration resonated with fans, who flooded the comments with congratulatory messages and warm wishes.
Released earlier this year, Saiyaara marked the much-awaited Bollywood debut of Ahaan Panday, cousin of actor Ananya Panday, alongside newcomer Aneet Padda. The romantic drama struck a chord with young audiences, blending soulful storytelling with heartfelt performances. Its music, visuals, and emotional depth have helped the film enjoy a steady run, with its 50-day milestone adding another feather to its cap.
With this post, the duo not only celebrated the film’s success but also reinforced the bond they share with their audience, one built on sincerity, connection, and gratitude.
As Saiyaara continues to linger in the hearts of its viewers, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s heartfelt message proves that the real magic of cinema lies in the shared emotions between storytellers and audiences.

‘My Daughters And Parents Are Stuck In Himachal With No Electricity For 3 Days’, Rubina Dilaik On Devastation In Himachal Pradesh

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Famous small screen actress Rubina Dilaik recently spoke about the ongoing crisis in Himachal Pradesh. Born and brought up in Shimla, Rubina started her acting career after coming to Mumbai. She told that her daughters are also there in this bad time. Rubina shared a video on her social media and said, ‘Many people have commented to me that why are you not posting anything about Himachal, how much devastation is happening there, due to rain, so many landslides, trees are falling, connection is completely gone, roads are flowing.’

Rubina Dilaik

She said, ‘I really have nothing to say. No one can do anything against nature. For the last 4 days, my own family is at our farm house, my daughters, my parents, my grandmother. They have no electricity for the last 3 days, there is no cellular network, the source of water is flooded. We are safe but the way everyone is going through, we can only pray.’

Rubina Dilaik

Rubina further said, ‘We are worried while sitting at home here. For the last 2 weeks, Abhinav and I have been scheduling our flights but we are not getting a chance. Sometimes there are landslides. I had gone there 15 days ago, only then the landslide situation had ended. So I can understand that in Himachal, actually in Punjab, in the current situation, a lot of people are living with a lot of difficulties and we, I especially can only pray to God to keep us all safe.’

Rubina Dilaik

She said, ‘Right now this is my only prayer for everyone and if anyone wants to raise funds through social media or needs help, I can definitely do that, but I want to share this only with you and my family is also living through this situation and I am just praying to God that we all come out of this natural disaster stronger and everyone stays safe. I am sending my prayers and love to all the affected families.’

Dermatologist shares 10 tips to protect skin from sweat, pollution and pimples: ‘Sunscreen 365 days a year’ | Health

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Weather changes and pollution can take a serious toll on your skin, triggering pimples, acne, and flare-ups. The good news? With the right protection strategies, you can shield your skin from pollutants, sweat, and breakouts effectively. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Ameesha Mahajan, cosmetic dermatologist and founder, Eden Skin Clinic shared a few tips to protect your skin daily. Also read | Repeating your morning skincare at night? Dermatologist explains why it is not a good idea

Cloudy or sunny days, sunscreen is a must.(Shutterstock)

1. Face cleansing twice a day

Cleanser used should be gentle and have a balanced pH. Use it twice a day and if you sweat profusely, such as after workouts. After sweating or exposure to environmental pollutants, cleansing must remove the bacteria.

2. Regular and gentle skin exfoliation

Skin exfoliation should be practiced with gentle exfoliants once or twice a week to unclog the skin pores. Harsh scrubs are a big no as they damage the skin’s protective barrier and cause more acne flare ups.

3. Anti-pollution care

Use an antioxidant loaded serum on your face as it helps to fight free radicals such as vitamin C and niacinamide. These ingredients are helpful to fight premature aging and dull skin.

4. Daily skin moisturisation, irrespective of skin type

Even oily skin needs hydration. Choose a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturiser. Moisturisers protect the skin barrier, keeping dirt and pollutants from penetrating.

5. Sunscreen 365 days a year

Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day, even indoors. Pollution can worsen sun damage, so sunscreen acts as your first line of defense. Also read | Can’t quit screen time? Here’s the skincare routine you need to protect your skin against blue light damage

6. Managing stress

Pat sweat off instead of rubbing to prevent irritation and clogged pores. Use breathable fabrics and avoid heavy creams that trap sweat.

7. Refrain from touching face with dirty hands

Hands carry bacteria and pollutants. Touching your face increases the risk of pimples. Keep phones, masks, and glasses clean to prevent skin transfer.

8. Lifestyle modifications

Stay hydrated to flush out toxins. Include a diet rich in antioxidants, fruits, and vegetables to support skin health. Get 7–8 hours of sleep to allow skin repair overnight.

9. Acne management

On the acne spots, consider applying salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or niacinamide based serums or other skincare products. Don’t pick or touch acne as it worsens inflammation and may even lead to scarring. Also read | What is ‘skin zoning’ and does it really work? Skincare experts reveal trend that treats every zone right

10. Regular skin check-ins

See the changes your skin shows with changing weather or after sweating. Shift your skincare products as per the season and consult a dermatologist in case of repeated acne flare-ups.

Gorillaz kicked off their four-night residency at London’s Copper Box Arena with back-to-back shows on Friday, August 29th, and Saturday, August 30th. The band performed their 2001 self-titled debut on the first night before reprising their Demon Days live show in its entirety the following evening.

The concerts coincide with the final week of the Gorillaz’s House of Kong 25th anniversary exhibition, which began on August 8th and runs through September 3rd. As promised, the group revisited the era for each album by recreating the original live show formats and visuals from each release.

During the Friday show, Gorillaz celebrated their debut album by playing several songs from the project for the first time since 2002: “Man Research (Clapper),” “Sound Check (Gravity),” “Starshine,” and “Slow Country.”

Inside the Surreal Final Days Before Princess Diana’s Death

by jummy84 August 31, 2025
written by jummy84

So, Diana took her friend, Egyptian business magnate and Harrods owner Mohamed Al-Fayed, up on his longstanding invitation to host her, along with William and Harry, at his vacation home in Saint-Tropez.

Dodi Fayed, Mohamed’s eldest son, showed up on July 14, a few days into the princess’ stay, docking his boat near his father’s yacht, the Jonikal. The 42-year-old movie producer was accompanied by his model fiancée Kelly Fisher, though Dodi would later deny that they were engaged.

Mohamed, who used to arrange private shopping excursions for the princess at his famed London department store after it had closed for the evening, was excited by the prospect of a love connection between Diana and his son.

Kelly left for work on July 18 and Dodi started spending more time with Diana and her sons, renting out a nightclub so they could dance in peace and taking the trio to an amusement park.

Diana called it the “best holiday of my life,” per Morton.

But in light of the tragic news, after dropping the boys back home in the U.K. she flew to Milan to attend the July 22 funeral for Versace.

Days after deleting his social media post, BTS’ J-Hope accidentally reveals new tattoo in a viral video; watch

Days after deleting photos from a tattoo studio, J-Hope casually showed off his new ink while dancing to CORTIS’s track, sending fans into detective mode

BTS’s J-Hope has never been one to shy away from expressing himself through music, dance and now through body ink. The rapper and dancer, born Jung Ho-seok, just gave ARMY a closer look at his latest tattoo, and fans can’t stop talking about the significance behind it.

J-Hope accidentally reveals new tattoo

The reveal came on August 29, 2025, when J-Hope dropped a TikTok video dancing to “GO!” by rookie group CORTIS. While his smooth moves stole the spotlight, sharp-eyed fans quickly noticed fresh tattoos along his thigh. The phrases read: “I’m your hope,” “You’re my hope,” and “HOPE.” Each word, allegedly etched by celebrity tattooist Dr. Woo, ties directly to the mantra J-Hope has repeated throughout his career — one that symbolises positivity, reassurance, and the bright energy he brings to BTS and his fans.

This is the artist’s second visible tattoo, following the “7” he got above his Achilles tendon in 2022, a design shared by all BTS members to represent their unbreakable bond. But unlike the group’s collective ink, this latest tattoo feels deeply personal. It’s an emblem of the persona he’s built as “the hope” of BTS, while also reminding ARMY that their love is his source of strength.

The decision now makes sense in hindsight — just days earlier, tattooist Dr. Woo had shared, then deleted, photos of J-Hope and V in his Los Angeles studio. While J-Hope’s new ink is now in the spotlight, V’s tattoo remains a mystery, fueling speculation online. Some fans believe he may have chosen a design inspired by the poem King he once posted to Instagram, though no confirmation has surfaced.

For J-Hope, however, the meaning is clear. His tattoo is more than ink—it’s a permanent mark of his identity and connection with fans. And in true mentor fashion, he used its reveal not just as a personal statement, but while amplifying a rookie group’s music, proving once again why ARMY calls him their “hope.”
