Day 1: Nahay Khay

The Chhath Puja observance begins on Day 1, October 25th (Saturday), with Nahay Khay. On this day, devotees initiate the festival by taking a holy dip, traditionally in a sacred river. Following the bath, they consume a single, pure meal, which marks the start of the vow. The sun will rise at 6:28 AM and set at 5:42 PM on this day.

Day 2: Kharna

Kharna, falls on October 26th (Sunday). The main event is a strict waterless fast observed from sunrise (6:29 AM) until sunset (5:41 PM). The fast is symbolically broken after the sun goes down by preparing and consuming a special meal, usually a sweet dish like kheer (rice pudding), after first offering it as Prasad to the Sun God.

Day 3: Chhath Puja or Sandhya Arghya

The most sacred and intensive part of the festival is Day 3, Sandhya Arghya, on October 27th (Monday). This day requires devotees to observe a rigorous full-day fast without water. The central ritual is performed in the evening, where the entire family gathers at a riverbank or water body to offer the evening Arghya (offering) to the setting Sun. The specific time for the sunset offering is 5:40 PM.

Day 4: Usha Arghya

The Chhath Puja concludes on Day 4, October 28th (Tuesday), with Usha Arghya and Parana. Devotees return to the water body before dawn to offer the morning Arghya to the rising Sun, which is scheduled for 6:30 AM. Once this final offering is completed, the nearly 36-hour fast is broken with Prasad and water, a ritual known as Parana, marking the successful completion of the Vrat.

“Renee is a HUGE inspiration,” SZA said

Reneé Rapp knows how to let her voice loose with an R&B song. On Friday, the singer joined the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and continued the spot’s tradition of surprise covers with a rendition of SZA‘s “Good Days.” Rapp was backed by a pair of soothing acoustic guitars and a harp player.

SZA later shared a clip of Rapp’s performance on Instagram Stories, lauding her fellow artist. “Renee is a HUGE inspiration, energy, voice spirit,” SZA wrote in the caption. Rapp also shared clips from the performance on her own Instagram and from her visit to London.

During her visit with the Live Lounge, Rapp also performed a rendition of “I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone” from her album Bite Me, which she dropped on Aug. 1. She spoke to Rolling Stone about making the record over the summer.

“I make music for myself, but I don’t put out music for myself,” she said at the time. “I don’t promote things for myself. If I was just going to do [it all] for myself, I wouldn’t put shit out in the first place. I’d have a different career.”

Rapp and SZA have shared sweet moments in the past. When Rapp said in an interview that people who don’t like Beyoncé “have no taste,” SZA reposted her and wrote, “She got her friggin mind right.”

Rapp is currently on her fall arena tour celebrating the album, and is scheduled to perform a show Friday night in Los Angeles, before shows in Texas, Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina through the end of October.

Prince William misses ‘glory days’ of search-and-rescue pilot

by jummy84 October 15, 2025

15 October 2025

Prince William misses the “glory days” of being a search-and-rescue pilot.

Prince William misses his RAF days

The Prince of Wales served with the RAF from 2009 until 2013 before flying with the East Anglian Air Ambulance from March 2015 until July 2017 and at a joint engagement with his “dear friend” and fellow helicopter pilot the Crown Prince of Jordan, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire on Wednesday (15.10.25), William looked back on his military days with great fondness.

According to the Daily Telegraph, he said: “I left and went straight into the Air Ambulance afterwards and did three years or so there and… it sort of merged into one big flying trip. I miss the search and rescue days, the glory days.”

The prince told how he loved hearing the sound of the Sea King helicopter flying during US Premident Donald Trump’s state visit last month.

He added: “Seven aircraft were flying over and Sea King comes in and I was like ‘there she is’ – that noise went straight to my heart, it was a great sound.”

The 43-year-old royal still enjoys flying when he can and admitted piloting an aircraft is his “happy place”.

Asked whether he still flies, he said: “I do still fly – I keep my hours going because, when you learn that skill set, you just don’t want it to go. I’ve definitely lost a lot of the skills Ι had, but I like to just keep on top of flying and keep doing it. It’s my happy place when I’m flying.”

During their visit, the princes met trainee aircrew and staff from No. 28 (AC) Sqn and No. 22 Sqn – with whom William served during his time at RAF Valley in Anglesey, North Wales – and heled engineers work on the main rotorhead of a Chinook aircraft, with the British prince joking someone would come along to “check” his counterpart’s work.

They then attended a private meeting with RAF personnel.

The two princes flew to the engagement by helicopter from Windsor Castle, with Kensington Palace stating it highlighted their “strong relationship” and mutual respect for the Armed Forces.

When Rakesh Roshan Recalled Why Kareena Kapoor Khan Was Dropped From Kaho Na Pyar Hai 4 Days Before Shooting, “I Wish Babita Wouldn’t”

When Rakesh Roshan Recalled Why Kareena Kapoor Khan Was Dropped From Kaho Na Pyar Hai (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Rakesh Roshan is one of the most skilled personalities in the Hindi film industry. From acting to directing and producing, he aces them all. Hrithik Roshan came to the industry holding his father’s hands with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. Initially, Kareena Kapoor was cast opposite HR but was dropped just a few days before filming began. Rakesh once opened up about the incident and blamed Kareena’s mother, Babita Kapoor, for it. Keep scrolling for the deets.

For the uninitiated, Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai could have been Kareena’s debut film instead of Refugee with Abhishek Bachchan. Before Rakesh dropped Kapoor out of the movie, she had also shot a few scenes for the blockbuster, which eventually went to Ameesha Patel. The film catapulted HR and Ameesha to immense fame despite it being their first film. It was a big success, critically and commercially.

Rakesh Roshan once blamed Babita Kapoor for parting ways with Kareena Kapoor.

In a 2020 interview with The Quint, Rakesh Roshan recalled that filming was set to begin with a song at Filmistan Studio, but four days before the shoot, Babita requested they start with dialogues, feeling Kareena wasn’t ready. He disagreed, saying beginning with a song would help her ease into the set, while dialogues would be more challenging, though she would be trained.

Rakesh Roshan recalled, “Babita was a little adamant about it. So I said, ‘This way I cannot work because tomorrow you might say, don’t do this, don’t do that. I think it’s better we part ways because we are good friends.’ So we parted ways.” Several reports claimed that Kareena Kapoor was not given a complete narration.

In another interview with G Magazine, he said, “It’s untrue that narration was not given to her. I never sign an artist without a full narration, and if she’s the heroine of my film, even more so. A complete narration was made three months ago. I wish Babita would not interfere in her daughter’s career, for she’s harming her more than helping her. Kareena is a newcomer and should be treated like one. She cannot call the shots, just because she’s Karisma’s sister.”

Babita’s Demand for Kareena’s Top Billing

Rakesh Roshan explained that Babita had insisted Kareena receive top billing over Hrithik, which he couldn’t agree to since the hero traditionally gets the first credit, especially in a home production. Amid the growing tension, he left for Athens to finalize a ship for the shoot and asked them to decide in his absence. When he returned and received no response, he felt it was best to part ways.

Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, starring Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel, has a cult following and won several accolades after its release. It gave both the leading stars a magnificent launch.

Yellowcard’s Best Days are Happening Right Now

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

“It’s so rad to be on this wave again,” says Yellowcard frontman Ryan Key. “What are the odds of catching this wave twice in your life, 20 years apart?”

Around this time two decades ago, Key’s band was riding high on the platinum sales of 2003’s Ocean Avenue and the Top 40 crossover success of its title track (one of the 50 best alt-rock love songs of all time, per SPIN), living their teenage dreams of headlining the Vans Warped Tour. And since reuniting in 2022, Yellowcard has been on another upswing. “We’re playing the biggest shows we’ve ever played in our career for three years in a row now,” says Key. “By a long shot, too, these shows are two, three times bigger than at the height of our career in the Capitol Records ‘Ocean Avenue’ era.”

“It’s been pretty amazing, we definitely are feeling the love,” agrees violinist Sean Mackin, while noting that Yellowcard had a harder time drumming up interest for their albums and shows before they disbanded in 2017. “I, personally, have some scar tissue from feeling like nothing was good enough. We were trying hard and it was almost like we were in quicksand. The harder you struggle, the worse it would get.”

It’s a sign of how well things are going now that when I call Key and Mackin on an off night between shows, they’re about to go see Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan in the same Indiana amphitheater they’ll be headlining 24 hours later. “We aren’t supposed to be here. Like, we just truly believed we were finished in 2017,” Keys.

(Credit: Joe Brady)

The Warped Tour itself also called it a day soon after Yellowcard, with a final tour in 2018. But with a rising tide of enthusiasm for pop punk, both are back in 2025, and Yellowcard will be at the Warped Tour’s Orlando edition in November, the band’s eighth year with the festival. They also appeared at the When We Were Young Festival in 2023, the epicenter of this recent surge of nostalgia for Y2K punk and emo bands.

The remarkable thing about Yellowcard’s comeback, though, is that they’re not just playing the old hits but building on their legacy with some of the best music of their career. “It’s been a long time since we’ve felt this much enthusiasm and excitement around new music from us,” Key says. “The way people seem to be reacting to these new songs, it’s special.”

Yellowcard’s 11th album Better Days, out on Better Noise Music October 10, was preceded by the title track and lead single, which became Yellowcard’s first No. 1 Alternative Airplay hit in August. The band’s slow, steady climb to that summit was a record for the Billboard chart, as the trade publication reported: “The nearly 22-year gap between a first entry and first ruler is the longest in the chart’s 37-year history.”

Of course, Yellowcard isn’t the only seasoned Warped Tour band that’s topped the alt-rock radio charts in the last few years, joining other late-career hits by Sum 41, All Time Low, and ’90s warhorses Green Day and Blink-182. In fact, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has cemented his role as the busiest man in the pop punk universe, if not all of rock music, by becoming a part of the Yellowcard team for Better Days. Barker co-produced the album alongside Andrew Goldstein and Nick Long in his Calabasas studio, the Waiting Room, and played drums on every song.

“Just to have Travis at the helm and watching a guy like Travis Barker play drums for your band is so inspiring,” Mackin says. “It was great to have him as a guide and as a brother to try and make the best Yellowcard songs we could.”

“Sometimes the world has a wild way of putting things into place,” Barker told SPIN in an email. “Neither of us had planned on working together, but once we got in the studio, the magic was undeniable. I had just finished the Blink album and was excited to dive into producing another record front to back. Working with Yellowcard was a pleasure, and seeing them land their first number one is incredible. I couldn’t be happier for them.”

Mackin is the only person who’s been a member of Yellowcard through every iteration of the band since it was formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997. The band’s first two albums featured original frontman Ben Dobson before Key became the band’s lead singer, and his tuneful voice and Mackin’s violin have remained the most recognizable features of the Yellowcard sound ever since. Mackin even has his own terminology for the band’s unique blend of instruments: “The ‘guitarmony’ between the guitar and the violin is pretty awesome, we can do a lot of things that not a lot of other bands get to do.”

Better Days is by far Yellowcard’s most collaborative album to date—all three producers contributed to the songwriting, as did members of Alkaline Trio, Goldfinger, and, surprisingly, Wolf Eyes. One reason for that is that Key, whose voice still sounds as effervescent and youthful as it did in 2003, had lost some confidence in his ability to write for the band. “I’m just in a different place, musically, the music I listen to, the music I write and record outside of Yellowcard, it’s just pretty far removed from what we were doing 20 years ago when we found that sound,” he says. “I was just really open to the idea of having someone come in and kickstart the process. And once that started, the floodgates just opened, I wrote two or three songs at home that I demoed just start to finish and brought back to the band.”

Goldstein helped provide the spark for “Bedroom Posters,” an album standout that may be Yellowcard’s next radio single. “Andrew was just noodling around in the studio before we got there that day, and we heard him playing that riff that you hear at the very top of the song, and we all were like, ‘Man, does that sound like a Yellowcard song,’” Key says. “We’ve been playing it live for about a month now, and words can’t even express how intense it is, man. When you get to the chorus and the crowd is singing those big background ‘whoa’s, it just makes your hair stand up.”

Last December, Yellowcard were getting close to wrapping up Better Days when Barker unexpectedly delivered a cameo from another pop punk icon, Avril Lavigne, for the ballad “You Broke Me Too.” “I was like, ‘Hey, I really just am getting big Avril vibes, I’m gonna have the violin and the strings kinda mimic a template that she’s already laid out,’” Mackin remembers. “And Travis looked over and he goes, ‘Do you think Avril should sing on the song?’ So Travis just made the call and sent us a little Christmas present. My wife punched me in the chest and said, ‘Is that really Avril Lavigne on a Yellowcard song?’”

Yellowcard’s lean years have made all the triumphs of 2025 that much more special for Key and Mackin, and they’re determined to savor this moment and deliver something special for their audience. “We are awash in social media and instant gratification and that really has, I think, unfortunately found its way into music, forcing a lot of music to be ‘content’ instead of creativity,” Key says. “And I think our generation of bands maintains writing music for ourselves and our fans, and that goes a long way.”

Watch Dua Lipa Duet With Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong

by jummy84 October 13, 2025

The pair performed “Wake Me Up When September Ends” as part of the pop singer’s
Radical Optimism tour over the weekend

Dua Lipa welcomed Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong to the stage at San Francisco’s Chase Center last night to perform the band’s 2004 hit “Wake Me When September Ends.”

“San Francisco, how you feeling?” Lipa told before bringing Armstrong on stage. “Every night we do a different surprise song by a local artist, and I immediately thought about San Francisco and all the incredible music that has come out of here. I thought about one band in particular… Join me in welcoming the incredible Billie Joe from Green Day!”

Last night marked the singer’s second show at Chase Center. On Saturday night, Oct. 11, she paid tribute to another Bay Area artist with a cover of “Piece of My Heart,” originally performed by Big Brother & the Holding Company with Janis Joplin.

Dua Lipa has regularly performed covers during her Radical Optimism tour, sometimes bringing the artists out on stage with her. Last week, she was joined on stage at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum by Gwen Stefani for a rendition of No Doubt classic “Don’t Speak.” “I wanted to dive into one of my personal heroes. One of my favorite artists, and who I grew up listening to my whole life,” Lipa told the crowd. “Someone who’s influenced my music, my style, someone who I love as a performer, and someone who constantly keeps redefining herself and music. I just absolutely love her.”

She later told Rolling Stone, “I’ve loved Gwen my whole life. I’ve found her so inspiring. I’ve loved her music. I love her toughness. I love her voice. I love everything that she stood for. For me, it was a big childhood dream come true.”

There are two more shows left on Dua Lipa’s North American Radical Optimism run, both in Seattle. She will head to South America and Mexico through November and early December. Speaking to Rolling Stone, she confirmed she’s working with Mark Ronson on new music again, but declined to tease the era any further. “I love working with Mark,” she said. “I’m so inspired by him. We work really well together, so I’m really excited.”

Navjot Singh Sidhu recalls Kapil Sharma’s early days: ‘He had no hair, a potbelly, looked 45′

Navjot Singh Sidhu, who made a grand return to entertainment earlier this year with The Great Indian Kapil Show, is back in the spotlight once again. After wrapping up the Netflix comedy talk show, Sidhu is all set to appear as a judge on India’s Got Talent. In a recent interview with Navbharat Times, the former cricketer and television personality spoke candidly about his struggles, his admiration for Kapil Sharma, and a memorable encounter with former U.S. President George W. Bush.

Navjot Singh Sidhu returns to the entertainment scene as a judge on India’s Got Talent after his stint on The Great Indian Kapil Show, sharing insights on Kapil Sharma’s journey.

Navjot talks about Kapil Sharma’s talent

Reflecting on his journey, Sidhu shared how pursuing one’s passion often comes with challenges. “Following your passion isn’t easy. Parents and society rarely encourage it. The biggest disease in the world is ‘what will people say.’ Talent needs a platform and without opportunity, it means nothing. Kapil Sharma, for example, used to work for ₹100 at Bhullar’s theatre society. Then, when he first appeared on TV in 2006, he had no hair, a potbelly, and looked like a 45-year-old. But when he performed on a bigger platform, his talent shone. In the IPL, people also become stars overnight because they get a bigger platform.”

Sidhu’s one-liners have always been quite loved. In fact, his quotes have been termed as Sidhuism by fans, and this tag also seemed to fascinate former US president George Bush. Recalling how Bush wanted to meet him after learning about Sidhuism, Navjot Singh Sidhu shared, “When I was in the BJP, Sardar Manmohan Singh invited me to dinner. His PA called and told me that George Bush was coming and asked what Sidhuism was. He was told that whatever this man says becomes Sidhuism. So he said, ‘I want to meet him.’ When I went, he asked me to quote a quote on positivity. I said, ‘Keep your face towards the sun so you never have to see your shadow.’ He laughed, but I didn’t plan these things. I just speak from the heart, and people connect with it.”

Kapil Sharma’s journey

Kapil is one of India’s most celebrated comedians and television personalities. He first gained national attention after winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007, which opened doors to a flourishing career in entertainment. His sharp wit, relatable humour, and impeccable timing helped him create Comedy Nights with Kapil in 2013, a show that became a cultural phenomenon and made him a household name.

Kapil later launched The Kapil Sharma Show on Sony TV, attracting Bollywood’s biggest stars and millions of loyal viewers every weekend. Beyond television, he has ventured into films like Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and Zwigato. His last project was Netflix special The Great Indian Kapil Show season 3.

Seerat Kapoor: ‘I Was Misguided During My Initial Days in The Industry’

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Seerat Kapoor’s confident smile always makes you listen to her with rapt attention. She’s spontaneous and chirpy. The actress has blended well not just with Tollywood, but also with its people and language. Her decade of journey in showbiz which she describes as ‘roller-coaster ride’ is proof enough.

Working for Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam is overwhelming
Prosthetics to look dark
Work ethics paid off
Lessons learnt the hard way
Doesn’t like to victimize

Working for Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam is overwhelming

Seerat Kapoor’s body of work hit the headlines several times. Her clinical approach to work and her versatility impressed filmmakers. And that’s how she got upcoming Telugu film, Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam. Directed by Shravan Jonnada, the film features a suspenseful plot, forensic clues, psychological elements, and shocking revelations. “The biggest validation for me came when the director revealed that he wrote the scenes keeping me in mind.” The actress is glad to play a character that is layered and rooted. “For the first time I am playing a role that is deglam. As the narrative progresses, the multiple layers in my character unfold.”

The film’s teaser was recently out and Seerat’s character demanded her to look a certain way. She could resonate to the depth of the role. “I am glad that the director didn’t want to portray me like a glam doll. He found my work to be inspiring and recognized my passion for art and skill. That gave me the confidence to excel in the role.”

Seerat Kapoor films

Prosthetics to look dark

In Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam, Seerat’s character comes from a broken family. She was drawn to this aspect of the role. “I could relate many scenes in the film to my real-life scenario when I lost my father. I was fascinated with my character’s resilient arc, emotional depth and how she embraces the journey and deals with hardships.”

The director wanted Seerat to be herself on the film sets and feel the character. “Working for the film is overwhelming because it’s filled with nostalgia. Internally too, I was feeling emotional.” Since it’s a role that is high on emotions, she had to put layers of prosthetics to look sad and dull. “We created dark circles under my eyes. Also, for the first time I had to put on makeup to look dark (she smiles). Playing the part looked authentic because it was sort of a personal experience I healed.”

Work ethics paid off

For someone who is an outsider, making inroads into the film industry is challenging. While the shelf life of an actress is short-lived, Seerat proved her naysayers wrong. “I believed in myself and kept working. My work ethics and discipline got me the opportunities. I look at myself objectively, and my hard work too paid off,” she ascribes her longevity to. Seerat started off her showbiz stint with a bang…scoring a hit with her debut film, Run Raja Run (2014) in Telugu. But after signing a slew of films, she seems to have lost her way in transition. Put that to her and she weighs her words saying, “I was misguided during my initial days in the industry.”

Seerat Kapoor telugu

Lessons learnt the hard way

The actress was very clear in her mind that if her debut film doesn’t work, then she won’t continue. But it became a blockbuster and was like a blessing. “I realised that performing arts would be the journey I can embark on.” But after a promising start, Seerat lost out on several opportunities in the middle. “I wasn’t sure what kind of films to do as follow ups. I started to seek guidance and there were too many people giving me too various opinions. It was challenging to adapt to showbiz dynamics and I was going through an inward journey.”

But soon, she realized that the right decision actually comes from the one who is going through the experience, herself. “That’s the first lesson I learnt,” she looks in retrospection, adding that she found people around her to be misguiding. Seerat found her mojo back when she started to take things in her control. “I started signing projects based on my instincts, and people actually remember films I made with my heart. Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam too happened like that.”

Seerat Kapoor hot

Doesn’t like to victimize

Seerat is glad that she withered the storm her own way. In hindsight, she is more observant and vigilant than ever. “I don’t like to victimize myself but learnt to act smartly and navigate through. I pick up on the signs that come about things to happen,” she puts in. Her interactions with people from different walks of life in the industry made her wiser. “I also got great insights into filmmaking as I got the opportunity to work with some of the finest people. I am grateful for the journey.”

Dr Katakol shared stage 1 of weight loss in his post. According to the neurosurgeon, in stage 1, if someone is trying to control their weight, they should start with three important rules that will help them lead a healthy and happy lifestyle, in their best shape.

Here are the 3 steps the neurosurgeon suggested:

Step 1: Start simple, not with what you eat, but when you eat. Eat only when the sun shines. Sundown, hands down.

Step 2: Fix the number of meals you have in a day: 1, 2, or 3—your choice. But no snacks in between.

Step 3: Don’t change what you eat just yet. Just focus on maintaining the timings. Maintain the same meal timings every day for 21 days.

What happens when you follow these rules for 21 days?

According to the neurosurgeon, when you follow these rules for 21 continuous days, your brain will lock them in as a habit. Dr Prashant Katakol stressed, “These 3 rules train your brain and metabolism, not just your body. These are the rules for stage 1.”
