UK events industry unites 10 major venues for largest ever ‘One Day at Christmas’ to combat loneliness

by jummy84 December 3, 2025
written by jummy84

The UK events and exhibitions industry is set to deliver its most ambitious collective social initiative yet, with One Day at Christmas expanding to 10 of the UK’s largest event venues on Friday, December 5th, 2025. The campaign brings the industry together to host a festive Christmas dinner and community celebration for more than 3,500 vulnerable and isolated people.

The 2025 event marks a significant milestone, welcoming two major new venues: P&J Live, Aberdeen, and Tobacco Dock, London, joining eight other iconic locations nationwide.

Further amplifying the campaign’s reach, much-loved broadcaster and host of Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley, has officially lent his support, hosting the central event at Excel London. His involvement underscores the national importance of the initiative, which has already served over 10,000 meals since its inception in 2017.

Julian Agostini, founder of One Day at Christmas, stated: “This event is the ultimate showcase of the heart and capability of the UK events industry. When we say no one should feel alone at Christmas, we mean it. Expanding to 10 major venues, from Aberdeen to London, demonstrates the sheer cooperation and determination of the exhibitions sector to give back.”

One Day at Christmas is unique because it is entirely powered by the events and exhibitions community. Venues donate their space, caterers donate food, and hundreds of volunteers—staffed by the industry—donate their time. Donations are made from all corners of the industry to make this a very special day. This collective effort is aimed at tackling the UK’s loneliness epidemic, which affects millions of adults.

The full list of 10 confirmed host venues for 2025 includes:

  • NEW: P&J Live, Aberdeen
  • NEW: Tobacco Dock, London
  • Business Design Centre, London
  • Coventry Building Society Arena
  • ExCeL London (Hosted by Richard Madeley)
  • Farnborough International
  • Manchester Central
  • NEC Birmingham
  • SEC Glasgow
  • Royal Armouries, Leeds

The event is being supported by some of the major event and exhibition organisers in the UK, whose shows include Grand Designs Live, UK Construction Week, The Cake & Bake Show, The National Running Show, MCM Comic Con, amongst live performances, concerts, sporting events and much more.

“This is more than just a festive meal; it’s about providing connection, community, and dignity for those who need it most. We are ready to help the media show the nation what true Christmas spirit looks like,” added Agostini.

Madhuri Dixit Joins 8-Hour Shift Debate Amid Deepika Padukone Row; Says, “I’m A Workaholic, We Worked 12-Hours Every Day”

by jummy84 December 2, 2025
written by jummy84

Madhuri Dixit – who is known as the Dhak-Dhak girl of Bollywood is all set to show a side like never before in her upcoming web show Mrs Deshpande. The actress – who rose to fame with iconic films such as Dil, Beta, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Dil To Pagal Hai and more, is all set to play a jailed serial killer in the Hotstar show.

During a recent interaction, the actress – who has been part of the industry for over 4 decades, was asked her views about there being an 8-hour shift for actors on movie sets. This conversation gained prominence following Deepika Padukone’s ouster from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. Read below to know all the ‘Lajja’ actress had to share.

Madhuri Dixit Weighs In On 8-Hour Shifts Debate

When asked about her views on the 8-hour shift debate, Madhuri Dixit told ANI, “The thing is that when we did Mrs Deshpande, we were working 12-hour shifts every day, like maybe more sometimes… So, I think to each his own.” She continued, “I’m a workaholic. So for me, maybe it’s different, but if a woman has that power and can say, ‘okay, I want to work these many hours,’ then that’s her prerogative, and that’s her life, and that’s how she wants to do it…Then more power to her.”

A while ago, Rani Mukerji also weighed in on the same topic. Stating that there should be better coordination and understanding between actors and producers, the ‘Mardaani’ actress said, “These things are up for conversation today because maybe people are discussing them outside. But this has been the norm with all professions. I’ve also done it where I have worked for certain hours. If the producer’s okay with it, you go ahead with the film. If the producer isn’t okay with it, you don’t make the film. So it’s also a choice. Nobody is forcing anything on anybody.”

The Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Bangkok is experiencing a dramatic turn of events. Just before ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand on November 21, Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, president of the Miss Universe selection committee, has reportedly stepped down from her judging role. Miss Universe 2025 pageant is facing controversy with the resignation of three judges, including Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, Omar Harfouch, and Claude Makélélé.(AP)

3rd judge dropped out just two days before pageant

This unexpected exit followed the resignations of Omar Harfouch and French soccer manager Claude Makélélé, adding to the controversy. Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie dropped out of judging just two days before the international pageant is set to take place, musician and former judge Omar was quoted as saying in a November 19 report by People.

Earlier, Omar resigned from the judging panel, alleging that an “impromptu jury” pre-selected the top 30 contestants without the original eight judges. He said this jury included individuals with personal relationships with contestants, raising concerns about fairness and transparency. Omar also stated he couldn’t “play with the destiny of young girls” and felt disrespected after discussing his concerns with Miss Universe CEO Raul Rocha.

Following Omar’s resignation, French soccer manager Claude Makélélé also stepped down, citing “unforeseen personal reasons”. Click here to know everything about their Miss Universe exits.

Miss Universe 2025 pageant is marred by controversy

To make matters worse, Miss Jamaica, DrGabrielle Henry, suffered a terrifying fall from the stage during the preliminary competition on November 19, prompting her to be rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, she’s reported to have no life-threatening injuries, but her participation in the finals is uncertain.

Earlier, the Miss Universe 2025 pageant made headlines following a clash between Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, and pageant organiser Nawat Itsaragrisil. During a livestreamed event, he allegedly called her ‘dumb’ after she missed a photoshoot, sparking a walkout by several contestants in protest.

These unexpected events have overshadowed the pageant’s glitz and glamour, leaving fans on social media in shock. Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Organisation has issued statements addressing the incidents, assuring that the November 21 event will proceed as planned.

The Biggest Moments From Day 1

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Lines wrapped around Las Vegas’ Caesars Forum as thousands waited for the doors of BravoCon 2025 to open on Friday. The crowd was dripping in fan-made jackets, T-shirts and bags with their favorite cast one-liners and photos, Bravo-leb endorsed merch and more than a dozen nods to Bronwyn Newport’s viral red fur heart jacket. The excitement only grew as the day progressed, with news dropping across the Bravo-verse and on the three stages, featuring an all-day lineup of content that spilled over into the evening.

Here are the biggest moments from Day 1:

The “Below Deck Captains & Crew Oughta Know” panel brought together those at the helm of various Below Deck franchises to unpack their tensions on land and sea. It also showed a special sneak peek of the Below Deck Down Under premiere, featuring The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City crossover charter. Bravo is doubling down on its Below Deck empire, with season 13 taking place in Thailand (airing next year) and Below Deck Mediterranean with Capt. Sandy Yawn and Chief Stew Aesha Scott setting sail for season 11. Below Deck Down Under premieres on Feb. 2; one of the most celebrated returns of BravoCon, Chef Ben Robinson delighted every crowd he encountered, except crewmate Daisy Kelliher, who said that he “challenged me in every way possible.”

Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis revealed during their morning panel that Lewis will return to Bravo with Still Flipping Out, seven years after Flipping Out went off air. The new show will follow Lewis as he navigates his Radio Andy show Jeff Lewis Live, his design work and his volatile personality.

The Valley will be spun off into The Valley: Persian Style with  Bravo alums Reza Farahan, Golnesa Gharachedaghi and Mercedeh Javid, as the friends move from Beverly Hills to “the valley.” It was also revealed that Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz will join the third season of The Valley proper, which returns without Jax Taylor.

The cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills gathered for a sneak peek of season 15, which featured fashion maven Racel Zoe visiting the home of Kathy Hilton for a styling session and Kyle Richards and her four daughters planning a ”romantic midnight garden”-themed wedding for Alexia Umansky. Dorit Kemsley also unpacked about her decision to file for divorce from PK. After the screening, Zoe received a thunderous applause from the audience to mark her return to Bravo and Kathy Hilton drove everyone into hysterics by telling the audience to close their eyes while she did her “Labubu voice.” Hilton caused a near-riot at the Bravo Bazaar with an appearance at her trinket boutique collaboration.

Some of the day’s loudest screams came from the Bravo Bazaar, showcasing more than 30 talent-led partnerships. Lexus revealed its Glam LX, a modified LX SUV outfitted with a full mobile makeup salon. This was the first time a car has ever come to the event with Bravoleb interactions, courtesy of Meredith Marks, Tamra Judge and Heather Dubrow. State Farm’s setup, though, drew the biggest crowd as Craig Conover from Southern Charm and “Jake from State Farm” visited the Sew What sewing shop for limited-edition embroidered Charleston-inspired swag.

During the evening’s Bravo awards show, where all 160-plus talent were in attendance at PH Live Theater, Andy Cohen presented original Real Housewives of Orange County castmember Vicki Gunvalson with an orange and asked her to return to the show for season 20. She accepted.

After more than a decade, the castmembers and families of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice, Melissa and Joe Gorga, publicly reconciled. Giudice teased the reconciliation during the “Yep, We Are Besties Panel.” Later, the group, along with Giudice’s husband, Luis Ruelas, posted photos from their Bravos meetup on social media, and Cohen popped up in the audience of Giudice’s panel to ask her if she really meant to push him out of the way back in the season two reunion show.

120 Bahadur to Hold Nationwide Paid Previews on Rezang La Day

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

In a rare and surprising move, the makers of 120 Bahadur have announced paid previews across India on 18 November, giving audiences a chance to watch the film three days before its official release. The decision has been taken to coincide with the 63rd anniversary of the Battle of Rezang La, one of the most heroic chapters in India’s military history. The early screenings have created instant curiosity, as very few Hindi films today take the risk of opening paid previews so far ahead of their release date.
The strategy is being seen as a mark of respect to the 120 soldiers of the 13 Kumaon Regiment who fought the legendary battle in 1962, and also as a strong sign of confidence from the team behind the film. By allowing audiences to experience the story first, the makers hope genuine reactions and early reviews will help build momentum leading into the release weekend.
More than 30 shows will open for booking across different cities, and trade experts believe the move could set a new trend if audiences respond positively.
Watch the trailer here:

120 Bahadur tells the story of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, played by Farhan Akhtar, who led his men with unwavering courage in extreme conditions. The film explores the emotional and physical challenges faced by the soldiers as they held their ground against overwhelming odds. While the larger narrative focuses on patriotism and sacrifice, the story also highlights the personal bonds, humour, and quiet moments that shaped the soldiers’ final stand. The line “Hum Peechhe Nahin Hatenge” echoes throughout the film, capturing the spirit of resilience that defines their legacy.
The paid preview decision has already sparked discussions online, with many calling it a fitting tribute to Rezang La Day. Early viewers are expected to share their thoughts across social media, which could boost excitement in the days leading up to the theatrical release.

120 Bahadur

Directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai, the film aims to give audiences a deeply emotional and visually powerful experience. 120 Bahadur releases nationwide on 21 November, and the paid previews on 18 November will offer the first glimpse of what promises to be one of the year’s most stirring war dramas.

‘Now You See Me 3’ Opening Day Ahead of ‘Running Man’

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

The “Now You See Me” franchise’s reappearing act is landing on the top of box office charts, debuting ahead of the weekend’s other new releases “The Running Man” and “Keeper.”

Lionsgate’s “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” heisted $8.4 million across Friday and preview screenings from 3,403 locations. The PG-13-rated threequel is looking at a three-day opening between $21 million and $24 million — about in line with pre-weekend projections and in the ballpark of the prior 2016 entry, which opened to $22 million.

Critics turned in mediocre marks for “Now You Don’t,” but it is the best-reviewed of the trilogy. Meanwhile, audiences lean positive at a “B+” grade from moviegoer pollster Cinema Score (though lower than the “A-” grades for both prior entries). Lionsgate shelled out north of $90 million to revive the franchise, which is directed by Ruben Fleischer and sees Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco return as a quartet of Robin Hood-like illusionists. Both prior entries scored a majority of their grosses overseas and, notably, Lionsgate typically sells off international rights to limit its financial exposure, at the cost of capping upside.

Meanwhile, Paramount’s “The Running Man” starring Glen Powell will have to vie for second place against the sophomore weekend of “Predator: Badlands” (funnily, another stab at resurrecting a property that was first introduced to moviegoers via an Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle in the ’80s.) The R-rated “Running Man” racked up $6.4 million across Friday and preview screenings from 3,534 locations. That puts the film on track to land behind projections for a debut north of $20 million, now forecast for the $17 million to $19 million range.

It’s an inauspicious kick-off for the Stephen King adaptation, which carries a hefty $110 million production budget co-financed by Domain Entertainment. Reviews have been lukewarm, though audiences are kinder at a B+ grade from Cinema Score. But with a crowded November slate ahead, including “Wicked: For Good” and “Zootopia 2,” “The Running Man” likely could’ve used some much stronger initial buzz to propel it through the coming weeks.

Also opening this weekend, Neon’s “Keeper,” the latest indie horror effort from writer-director Osgood Perkins, earned about $1 million from 1,950 locations across Friday and previews. It’s headed for a fifth-place debut. The opening doesn’t compare to the last two Perkins efforts — last year’s summer breakout “Longlegs” ($22 million) and this past spring’s “The Monkey” ($14 million). Reviews are worse than those last two movies too, and Cinema Score turned in a dismal “D+” grade.

Disney’s “Predator: Badlands” earned $3.5 million on its second Friday, down 68% from its opening day total a week ago. The science-fiction sequel’s domestic gross is now at $56 million and looks to go north of $66 million through Sunday. It’s gunning to pass “Alien vs. Predator,” which, though a crossover, is the biggest domestic box office hit ever for the franchise with $80.2 million in North America.

“Regretting You” will round out the top five, earning $1.2 million on Friday and projecting a 39% drop for a $4 million fourth weekend and another strong hold. Paramount’s release of the Colleen Hoover adaptation will hit a domestic total of $45 million through Sunday.

“It took 7 days to create the world, it only took one to disrupt its balance.” And let’s be honest – it’s all our fault. This mesmerizing animated short film is entirely worth a watch, especially if you love this planet and all the plants & animals on it. On the 8th Day is an 8 minute animated short film created by 5 students at the acclaimed Piktura animation school in France. The original French title is Au 8ème Jour and it was finished in 2023 – but it has been playing at film festivals and other events around the world for the pat 2 years. Now it’s online for everyone to enjoy thanks to Short of the Week. This is created with 3D animation but it has the same look & style of stop-motion animation, specifically felt & cloth & yarn animation usually made by hand. The short is an eco fable visualizing our interconnected world and the link between all living creatures on planet Earth. The pieces of yarn connect everything and everyone. Until darkness starts taking over… It’s a beautiful creation and the animals are so cute. Bravo to the team for crafting this stunning film.

Thanks to Short of the Week for the tip on this one. Intro via YouTube: “It took 7 days to create the world, it only took one to disrupt its balance. This award-winning 3D animation mimics hand-crafted stop-motion to tell an environmentalist parable about the interconnectedness of all life. What elevates it is the remarkable polish of its execution, the genuine emotion it stirs, and an apocalyptic sense of scale and foreboding that feels attuned to the current moment.” On the 8th Day is an animated short film created by students at the acclaimed Piktura animation school based in Roubaix, France. You can find out more about the school on their official site. This was made by Agathe Sénéchal, Alicia Massez, Elise Debruyne, Flavie Carin, Théo Duhautois. Originally completed in 2023. Produced by Carlos De Carvalho. With original music by Thomas Peyrounette with Adèle Chavy on the violin. View the making of video here. For info on the film, visit SOTW or the film’s main page. written by jummy84

Magdalena Bay have released another pair of new songs: “This Is the World (I Made It for You)” and “Nice Day” follow three other double-singles the band has shared in the autumn. Listen to the new tracks below.

Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin kicked off their recent run of productivity, in late September, with “Second Sleep” and “Star Eyes.” They next released “Human Happens” and “Paint Me a Picture,” in mid-October, and “Unoriginal” and “Black-Eyed Susan Climb” on Halloween. All eight songs are now being collected in a box set called Nice Day: A Collection of Singles. They’re available separately as 7″ vinyl singles, too.

Regarding today’s new songs Tenenbaum and Lewin said, “This is the final pair. (We made it for you.) Thank you for listening to these songs; it’s been a nice day to tangle with you.”

The Nice Day songs follow Magdalena Bay’s Imaginal Disk. They remain on tour in support of the album.

Lewis Capaldi Shares ‘The Day That I Die’ From New ‘Survive’ EP

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

The emotional track closes out the Scottish singer-songwriter’s new EP, Survive

Lewis Capaldi’s new four-song EP is out today, and with it the arrival of a new single, “The Day That I Die.”

The track is vintage Capaldi, a deeply affecting, piano-led ballad that finds the Scottish singer-songwriter ruminating on mortality in stark, but evocative terms. On the track’s characteristically booming bridge, Capaldi belts, “Just as the sun will rise/And the sun will set/I will love you just the same from somewhere different/Until you close your eyes/And we meet again/Don’t you, don’t cry.”

On Instagram, Capaldi said the “The Day That I Die” was about “the lowest I’ve felt in my life,” and admitted it felt “a bit weird putting it out there for people to hear.” Still, he continued, “I’m honestly the proudest I’ve ever been about a song with this one. It’s been an absolute pleasure being back and releasing music and playing shows the last six months and I’m honestly so pleased to say I feel so far removed from the place I was when. Wrote this song. Looking forward to much more next year.”

“The Day That I Die” closes out Capaldi’s new Survive EP, which also includes previously-released tracks, “Almost,” “Survive,” and “Something in the Heavens.” Survive marks Capaldi’s first release of all new material in two years, following his 2023 sophomore album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent. Earlier this year, he did release another EP, All the Rest, which contained two covers — Olivia Rodrigo’s “Driver’s License” and Billie Eilish’s “When the Party’s Over” — as well as new orchestral versions of two of Capaldi’s own songs.

Trending Stories

Capaldi’s return comes after a challenging couple of years, during which he stepped back from touring to address physical and mental health concerns. He returned to the stage over the summer at Glastonbury, where he last performed in 2023 and was seen battling Tourette’s syndrome throughout his set.

Capaldi has played a few more gigs since then, and he’ll kick off a proper world tour early next year. A North American run is set to begin April 15 in Philadelphia and wrap May 6 in Vancouver.

EXCLUSIVE! Children’s Day Special: Manpasand Ki Shaadi Fame Akshun Mahajan Reveals He Still Watches Batman, Dragon Ball Z

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Akshun Mahajan, who has already won viewers’ hearts with his charming screen presence and impressive performances, continues to shine with every new project. The actor earned widespread love and appreciation for playing the lead role in Rajshri Productions’ Manpasand Ki Shaadi on Colors TV, where his natural acting and emotional range made him a standout favorite among fans.

On the occasion of Children’s Day today, Akshun Mahajan takes a nostalgic trip back to the moments, cartoons, and lessons that shaped the person he is today.

Akshun Mahajan Reveals His Childhood Dreams

During an exclusive conversation, Akshun Mahajan reveals his childhood was filled with superheroes, animated battles, and simple joys that still stay with him. For him, childhood entertainment meant two things – Batman and Dragon Ball Z. Akshun admits he still watches them every single day, even if it’s just for five minutes. He shares, “It’s my way of reliving those old times,” Whether it’s early morning or late at night, these shows continue to bring him comfort.

Interestingly, before acting entered his life, Akshun had an entirely different dream — one inspired straight from the world of Goku. “I wanted to go Super Saiyan.” As a child, Mahajan spent hours trying to transform into the powerful form he admired so much. That childhood fantasy, he says, made him believe in becoming stronger and evolving constantly.

These shows didn’t just entertain him; they shaped his values, too. Akshun credits Batman for teaching him loyalty, ethics, and the importance of staying true to one’s path. From Dragon Ball Z, he learned the meaning of family and the importance of remembering your roots. He reflects, “These two cartoons played a big part in making me who I am.”

Akshun Recalls Flying ‘A Lot’ Of Kites As A Kid

When asked about a childhood memory that still brings a smile, Akshun lights up instantly. He recalls long winters in Punjab spent flying kites on the terrace, especially during the January kite festival. He said, “I used to fly a lot of kites actually, the entire winter until Baisakhi. Easily one of my fondest memories. And still, when I get the chance, I do travel back home and I go fly kites at my old terrace.”

This Children’s Day, Akshun Mahajan reminds us that the kid inside us never really goes away – and maybe, that’s the best part of growing up.

Happy Children’s Day!
