Kevin Spacey Set To Face Civil Sex Assault Claims In London Court

by jummy84 November 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Kevin Spacey will face civil claims of sexual assault from three men at the High Court in London next October.

A British performer named Ruari Cannon, who has waived his right to anonymity, and two other claimants who have not, have alleged Spacey abused them between 2000 and 2015.

A judge set the provisional trial date of 12 October 2026 for the cases at a hearing earlier this week. Spacey denies all the allegations.

Spacey was cleared of nine sexual offence charges at a criminal trial in 2023. He was also found not liable in a U.S. civil case brought by actor Anthony Rapp, who alleged Spacey molested him when he was 14.

Spacey made headlines last week with an interview with The Telegraph newspaper during which he described his financial situation as “not great,” adding, “I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs, I’m going where the work is. I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”

The House of Cards alum, who last year appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss his debts, including the foreclosure of his Baltimore abode, said, “The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical. I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”

Spacey likened his predicament to the experiences of actors of yore, who were swept into the Hollywood blacklist as a result of McCarthyism. He cited Kirk Douglas’ willingness to work with screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, then blacklisted, as the type of strategic allyship that could help him right the ship.

“So, my feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call Evan [Lowenstein, Spacey’s manager] tomorrow, it will be over,” he posited. “I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone. And I believe it’s going to happen.”

Most recently, Spacey wrapped production in the U.K. on an under-the-radar sci-fi thriller called The Tenth Planet. The project was on sale at this year’s American Film Market.

Man Who Grabbed Ariana Grande in Singapore Charged in Court

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

A man who grabbed Ariana Grande at the Asian premiere of “Wicked: For Good” in Singapore on Thursday night has been charged in court.

According to BBC News, Johnson Wen — who was shown in a viral video jumping over a barricade and rushing at Grande on the red carpet as her co-star Cynthia Erivo jumped in to protect her — has now been charged with being a public nuisance in Singapore. If found guilty, Wen faces a fine of up to fined up to S$2000 ($1,540). Local media has reported that Wen intends to plead guilty.

The 26-year-old Australian, who goes by Pyjama Man on Instagram, often posts on social media about getting close to celebrities at events and premieres. He has previously found his way on stage at the concerts of Katy Perry, the Weeknd, the Chainsmokers and others. On his Instagram story on Thursday, Wen posted that he was “free after being arrested.”

Wen’s charging at Grande caused a social media uproar, with his post about rushing the red carpet — which is captioned “Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You” — flooded with disapproving comments. “Oh wow so you do this a lot… how aren’t you in jail?” one user commented, while another said: “There needs to be an action done against him as this is clearly a criminal offense.”

Grande, Erivo and the rest of the “Wicked: For Good” cast are currently embarking on a world tour to promote the musical film, which releases on Nov. 21. The next and final stop is in New York City on Monday.

UPDATE: Court Delivers New Ruling With Appeal Decision In Tory Lanez & Megan Thee Stallion Case (PHOTO)

Court Delivers Ruling On Appeal Request

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Looks like the courts had something to say about Tory Lanez’s latest move — and Megan Thee Stallion’s name is right in the mix. After months of legal back-and-forth, new court documents obtained by journalist Meghann Cuniff reveal a major update in his ongoing case. The court just made a key decision regarding his effort to challenge his previous convictions and sentence — and let’s just say, it’s not the outcome some were expecting.

Court Says “No” To Tory’s Appeal

After months of silence surrounding one of hip-hop’s most talked-about cases, a major update has hit the timeline — and it’s not the news Tory Lanez was hoping for. According to new court documents obtained by journalist Meghann Cuniff, the California Court of Appeals has officially denied Tory Lanez’s request to overturn his felony convictions and 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

“On appeal, Peterson contends the trial court committed a number of errors. We find no prejudicial error and, accordingly, affirm Peterson’s conviction,” reveals court documents.

In the appeal, Lanez’s legal team argued that he was unfairly convicted and sought a new trial, but the judges didn’t see it that way. After reviewing his claims, the court decided to uphold the original ruling, meaning Tory will continue serving the 10-year sentence he received back in August 2023. This decision adds yet another twist to the long-running case that’s divided fans and dominated headlines. Lanez has continued to maintain his innocence from behind bars, while Megan has seemingly moved forward — staying booked, busy, and focused on her music.

The TL Had A WHOLE Lot To Say

When the news hit, Roommates wasted no time sprinting to The Shade Room’s comment section, and the reactions were all over the place. Some were celebrating the update, glad to know Tory isn’t getting out anytime soon, while others stood ten toes down, demanding his release ASAP. Meanwhile, a few folks couldn’t resist cracking jokes — saying it’s clear some people still don’t understand how Cali gun laws really work.

One Instagram user @bliteindian said, “Megan I live for sh like this. Don’t let up girlll. Justiceeee, oh how I love Justice 💞”

This Instagram user @caplikejas shared, “😭 I wonder why he won’t hire one of his IG warriors to represent him“

And, Instagram user @kilow_theexplorer said, “Tory your day will come. 🙏🏾”

Meanwhile, Instagram user @transvilla420 wrote, “No headaches for Klay Thompson for the next 10 years 😊”

While Instagram user @sinnamen_success added, “Obviously y’all don’t understand California gvn laws… 🤦🏽‍♀️”

Then Instagram user @luvvlychai said, “That’s not Megan case… it was him vs THE STATE! He went to jail for possession of a weapon.“

And, Instagram user @red.pace wrote, “Tory, please. They are not freeing you, you did it. Learn a new trade while you’re inside, pick up a hobby. We’ll see you in 10.“

Instagram user @carolinetania claimed, “No he deserves to be free 😢”

Lastly, Instagram user @alyshabattle commented, “Proof isn’t good enough for some of y’all!!“

Tory’s Dad Says His Son Is Coming Home…Soon

Tory Lanez’s father doesn’t appear to be stopping his push for his son’s release. During a sit-down with POWER 106 back in July, Sonstar Peterson opened up about Tory’s incarceration and dropped some bold claims about what’s happening behind the scenes. When asked about a possible release date, he kept things vague, saying he wouldn’t “go on record” but hinted that “movements [were] happening in the background” and that the so-called powers that be could see “this was a hatched job.” Sonstar insisted Tory’s return home was coming “much sooner than…people think.”

At the time, fans were already buzzing about alleged inconsistencies in the case — from conflicting witness statements to questions surrounding gun residue evidence. Sonstar’s confidence made it clear he believed Tory’s legal team was still fighting to overturn his conviction. However, Megan Thee Stallion’s camp quickly shut down any talk of new evidence, making it clear that, as far as they’re concerned, the case was closed.

Bill Maher Issues Brutal Takedown of Supreme Court Amid Government Shutdown

by jummy84 November 8, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • Bill Maher criticized the U.S. Supreme Court for appearing partisan.
  • He highlighted the contrast between federal district courts frequently ruling against Donald Trump and the Supreme Court’s tendency to favor him.
  • Maher compared the Constitution to the Bible, suggesting both are revered but often ignored in practice.

Bill Maher issued a brutal takedown of the U.S. Supreme Court amid the government shutdown — while making a bold comparison of the Bible and the U.S. Constitution in the process.

On the Friday, November 7 episode of Real Time With Bill Maher, the comedian, 69, spoke at length about the Supreme Court’s recent track record.

“The Supreme Court has to recognize that they have one last chance to not look like a bunch of partisan hacks who are no different than the other two branches of the government,” he said. “This week, the court is hearing about a case that will definitively tell us if they really are a separate branch of government — or whether when the founders said you are a check on executive power, they thought it meant a blank check.”

That’s when Maher compared federal district court rulings to the U.S. Supreme Court rulings over the summer on things like “withholding money that Congress specifically authorized and suspending due process for non-citizens.” Between May 1 and June 23, federal district courts ruled against President Donald Trump 94.3% of the time (82 out of 87 cases), versus Trump’s 17-case winning streak in the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Which is funny because during the [Joe] Biden years, the court was all about reigning in presidential power,” Maher pointed out.

On Friday, the Supreme Court also granted the Trump administration’s emergency appeal to temporarily block a court order to fully fund SNAP benefits amid the government shutdown — after a federal judge gave the administration until Friday to make a payment to fully fund SNAP.

After skewering Trump for tariffs and declarations of nine national emergencies since taking office, Maher compared the U.S. Constitution to the Bible, tying back to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“The Constitution: Is it still a real thing, or is it just a vibe now?” he wondered aloud. “The Supreme Court has to decide: Are you going to be Democracy’s last line of defense, or is the Constitution now — really, let’s  be honest — just like the Bible. Just a sacred, old text that everyone name-drops with reverence but no one actually reads or even feels bad about ignoring.”

Maher continued, “Both testaments, the old due in the sky, and his hippie son — both have many commandments and pronouncements about slavery, and none of them are, ‘Don’t do it.’ The thing is, the Constitution is pro-slavery, too. But the difference with science and faith is, with the Constitution, we could amend it and did.”

To conclude his thoughts, the comedian added, “I could live with the Bible and its Bronze-Age nonsense as long as we also had the greatest document from the Age of Enlightenment. But now I fear they are both like a hot dog: Something Americans love, but they don’t know what’s in it, and they don’t care.”

BREAKING NEWS: Madhya Pradesh High Court Dismisses Petition to Restrain The Release of HAQ

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

BREAKING NEWS: Madhya Pradesh High Court Dismisses Plea by Shah Bano Begum’s Daughter Against Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar’s HAQ.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has dismissed a petition to restrain the release of HAQ, starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi. Directed by Suparn S Varma, the film is inspired by the landmark judgement of the Supreme Court on Mohd. Ahmed Khan v. Shah Bano Begum case, in which the Supreme Court ruled in favour of providing maintenance to divorced Muslim females.

The petition against HAQ was filed by Shah Bano Begum’s daughter, Siddiqua Begum Khan, who argued that the filmmakers could not have made such a film and depict such events without taking consent from Shah Bano’s family or heirs. She had stated that she had inherited her late mother’s reputational rights after Bano’s death.

Justice Pranay Verma at the Indore Bench of the High Court rejected the arguments, holding, “Privacy or reputation earned by a person during his or her lifetime extinguishes with his or her death. It cannot be inherited like a movable or immovable property.”

The court also accepted the filmmaker’s stance that HAQ is “inspired” by the landmark case. It is fictional and the disclaimer that states the same is also a part of the movie. “Since the disclaimer itself states that the same is dramatization and is fictional and an adaptation of a book and is inspired by a judgment of the Apex Court, it cannot be said that the contents of the film are fabricated. Since the film is an inspiration and a fiction, some amount of leeway is certainly permissible and merely because the same is done, it cannot be said that there has been any sensationalization or false portrayal,” the Court said.

In its final verdict, the Court also noted that the film is stated to be largely inspired from publicly available court records. “Once a matter becomes a matter of public record, the right of privacy no longer subsists and it becomes a legitimate subject for comment by the Press and Media amongst others. The same is precisely the fact situation in the present case,” it said.

HAQ

Additionally, the Court also accepted an argument by the filmmakers that the petitioner had an alternative approach of heading to the Central government for revoking or suspending the censor certificate granted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), instead of coming to the Court directly.

Insomnia Films (a producer) was represented by advocates HY Mehta, Chinmay Mehta along with Chandrajit Das, briefed by Parinaam Law Associates. Junglee Pictures was represented by Senior Advocate Ajay Bagadia and advocate Ritik Gupta along with advocate Jasmeet Kaur, briefed by Anand Naik & Co.

Directed by Suparn Varma, HAQ stars Emraan Hashmi, Yami Gautam Dhar and it also also features Vartika Singh making her debut with the film and powerhouse performers Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady. It explores themes of the Uniform Civil Code, Triple Talaq, and gender equality before the law. Written by Reshu Nath, produced by Junglee Pictures, in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, HAQ is set for a worldwide release on 7th November 2025.

White House Fully Complying w/ Court Order To Provide Partial SNAP Benefits After Trump
Claims Otherwise

Looks like partial #SNAP benefits will go out this month after all. The #WhiteHouse has confirmed it is “fully complying” with a federal court order to distribute benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) despite earlier statements from #PresidentTrump suggesting otherwise. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters today (Nov. 4) that the administration was following the court order and working to get partial SNAP payments distributed “as quickly as we can.”

The clarification comes after Trump claimed this morning on Truth Social that SNAP benefits “will be given only when the Radical Left Democrats open up government.” Leavitt said Trump simply meant that he “didn’t want to have to keep tapping into an emergency fund and depleting it in the case of a catastrophe in this country.”

[Update] Jay-Z Wins Latest Court Battle As Judge Denies Restraining Order From Alleged Son’s Godmother

Jay-Z scored another victory in his long-running legal battle against Lillie Coley, the godmother of a man who claims to be his biological son. On Friday, a California federal judge denied Coley’s emergency request for a restraining order, which sought to halt a sanctions hearing she described as “retaliatory.”

According to AllHipHop, Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett ruled that Coley failed to meet the legal standard for immediate court action, allowing Jay-Z’s legal team to proceed with efforts to sanction her for what they call “decades-long harassment.”

The case stems from allegations by Rymir Satterthwaite, who has claimed Jay-Z is his father for years. Coley, Satterthwaite’s former guardian, has led the legal push despite multiple dismissals. In 2022, a New Jersey judge barred Coley and Satterthwaite from filing new paternity suits without prior approval.

Jay-Z’s lawyers argue that the filings are ab*sive and unsupported by evidence, while Coley continues to claim he has evaded DNA testing.

What are your thoughts on this longstanding drama?

Jay-Z Accused of Retaliation in Court — Woman Claims Rapper Is Using Legal System to Punish Her for Filing Federal Lawsuit

Lillie Coley, the woman who recently filed a federal lawsuit against Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, has asked a California judge for emergency protection—accusing the billionaire mogul of using the court system to retaliate against her.

In new legal documents filed on October 21, 2025, Coley submitted an Application for a Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She’s asking the court to block Jay-Z from pursuing what she calls a “retaliatory sanctions hearing” scheduled for November 7, 2025 in New Jersey.

Coley claims the New Jersey motion is meant to punish her for filing a federal case against the music icon. She says the move amounts to “vexatious litigation” and argues that without immediate relief, she’ll suffer “irreparable harm,” citing the financial and emotional toll of fighting “a two-front legal war against a billionaire celebrity.”

In the filing, Coley—who is representing herself—accuses Jay-Z of using his influence and resources to silence her. The documents reference serious allegations, including claims that the rapper allegedly impregnated a minor decades ago and then used “systematic judicial manipulation” to avoid accountability.

Coley’s motion insists that the public interest demands intervention, arguing that “wealth and celebrity status cannot be used to corrupt judicial processes or deny justice to vulnerable parties.” She describes her case as a fight not just for herself, but for others who have been “overwhelmed by procedural warfare designed to silence victims.”

The case has been assigned to Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett in Los Angeles federal court, with a decision on the emergency request expected before the November 7 hearing.

Stephen A. Smith Says Court
Confrontation w/ LeBron James Was A Calculated ‘Set-Up’: I Don’t Like His @ss’

#StephenASmith is standing ten toes down on his hatred for #LeBronJames.

In an interview on 7PM in Brooklyn with #CarmeloAnthony, the sports and political commentator spoke about his years-long feud with LeBron, saying, “I don’t like his *ss, not even a little bit. You do not understand the lengths this man would go to.”

Stephen continued, “This dates back more than a decade. I believe he’s one way publicly and another way privately. He might not be interviewed and he might not be quoted, but the things he says and the things he has said to people — it’s gotten back to me, the things he’s tried to do. If it were up to him, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Remember when LeBron confronted Stephen earlier this year during a game between the #Lakers and the #Knicks over comments made about his son and teammate, #BronnyJames? Well, Stephen feels that was a calculated move on LeBron’s part. “It’s some low, low sh*t. The day that he rolled up on me courtside, it was the day my contract was announced — that I had stayed at #ESPN,” Stephen explained. “Go back and look at the camera angles. I arrived there in the first quarter. He rolled up on me in the third quarter. This is 2025. We’ve got technology everywhere. #TNT is a nationally televised game. How is it we got one angle, and the only angle you see was of him and his face?”

Smith added that he felt “set up” by the entire ordeal.

Does Stephen A. have a point, or is he dragging the drama?

CBC asks court to keep Gem subscriber numbers confidential – National

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

CBC/Radio-Canada has filed an application in Federal Court to fight an order directing it to disclose subscriber numbers for its Gem streaming service.

The information commissioner ordered CBC to make available the number of paid subscribers to Gem following an access-to-information request for the data.

CBC/Radio-Canada president Marie-Philippe Bouchard told The Canadian Press the subscriber numbers are sensitive commercial information.

That confidentiality matters when it comes to things like commercial negotiations on bundling Gem with other streaming services, Bouchard added.

The public broadcaster is “charged with making some of our budget out of commercial relationships,” she said.

“And that has to be played according to the rules of the market. And so we’re finding ourselves, with this ruling, uncomfortable with the interpretation.”

Story continues below advertisement

In refusing to disclose the numbers, CBC cited exemptions for programming activities and information that could harm its competitive position.

In her final report on the access-to-information complaint, Information Commissioner Caroline Maynard said the subscriber numbers relate to CBC’s programming activities, but they also relate to its general administration — which means the exemption to disclosure does not apply.

Maynard said while “CBC did identify possible harms to its competitive position or to ongoing negotiations, it did not demonstrate that there was a reasonable expectation that these harms could occur, well beyond a mere possibility.”

The information commissioner’s ruling contradicts the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s interpretation of what constitutes “sensitive commercial information,” Bouchard said.

Bouchard said CBC/Radio-Canada wants the courts to provide clarity on the issue.

CBC launched the Gem streaming service, which has both paid and free versions, in 2018. The paid version, which costs $5.99 a month, includes ad-free on-demand streaming and a stream of CBC’s 24-hour news channel, CBC News Network.

Paid subscribers “are not what makes Gem,” Bouchard said. “Gem is mainly a free-to-user service. And the paid part is really a commodity for people who don’t want advertising.”

CBC does not disclose the number of paid or unpaid subscribers to Gem.

In its notice of application, CBC/Radio-Canada asks the court to set aside the information commissioner’s order and declare that Gem records are exempt from disclosure.

It argues the public broadcaster “operates in a highly competitive environment in which foreign and domestic private and community broadcasters and other digital streamers offer their own programming on their respective distribution platforms.”

Bouchard was pressed on the question Monday afternoon during an appearance at the House of Commons heritage committee.

Conservative MP Kevin Waugh asked Bouchard whether she was “embarrassed” by the number.

“No,” she responded.

“Why don’t you come out and just say, here’s the numbers that we got,” Waugh asked again, telling Bouchard to “give us some numbers.”

Bouchard responded that more than five million people have created an account.

In a later exchange with Waugh, Bouchard said the CRTC allows businesses to “consider that information confidential,” while the information commissioner’s interpretation “says that we have not met the standard for that confidentiality.”

“We want reconciliation between those two interpretations, and that’s why we asked the Federal Court to consider the situation,” she said.

Waugh disagreed, telling Bouchard: “I don’t know what you’re hiding. I really don’t, because you’re a public broadcaster, you’re getting the funds from the public, and you’re not in competition with Bell Media, Crave or any of those.”
