Finite Films & TV Hires Paddy Hughes In Original Branded Content Push

by jummy84 December 15, 2025

EXCLUSIVE: British producer Finite Films & TV has appointed Paddy Hughes as Creative Director to shepherd a slate of original branded content.

The BAFTA-nominated Director and Producer – who has worked in television, subscription streaming, digital and commercial content for 20 years – will work alongside Finite founder and executive producer Amy Gardner, and oversee and develop original content partnerships with brands, including projects for digital-first platforms.

Hughes has produced and directed factual entertainment, documentaries and scripted programming for leading distributors such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Disney and Sky. He has worked as a producer and director for the likes of Little Dot Studios, Future Studios and Cowshed Collective.

He has also landed series commissions for UK and U.S. channels such as BBC3 and Fullscreen, the latter being 2015 short-form scripted sitcom Jack&Dean of All Trades, starring Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs with Jessica Hynes. In 2018, he was nominated for a BAFTA for BBC3’s Eating with My Ex.

This year, he has focused on branded entertainment for Channel 4, and working with Left Bank Pictures to develop a digital drama slate and strategy. He also founded Romalo Film&Creative, a production start-up servicing branded production, YouTube and films.

His hire comes after Finite launched an unscripted division, with celebrity competition series Wings & Waves, made in partnership with global sportswear brand North Sails. Hughes will seek to strike similar partnerships in his role.

“Paddy brings an extraordinary level of experience and creative vision,” said Gardner. “His passion for premium storytelling and knowledge of brand-driven content aligns perfectly with our ambitions, and his appointment signals an exciting next phase for growing our branded slate.”

“My career has taken me from traditional television into the fast and ever evolving world of digital and branded content,” added Hughes. “Finite have some really interesting clients and I’m excited to shape genre busting work that pushes creative boundaries.”

Finite’s scripted slate features the psychological horror, The Fears, from Doctor Who director Andrew Gunn, and Ben & Lucy, starring Steven Cree and directed by Cora Bissett. It will co-produce the first English-language feature film from director Anu Menon, titled Two of Us, alongside Bright Pictures. The company recently attached writer Sophia Al-Maria to its TV series The Many Lives of Miss K.

Australian Gov’t Approves Content Quotas For Streaming Video Platforms

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

SYDNEY, Australia — More than three-and-a-half years after the siren sounded, the Australian government is activating local content quotas for popular streaming video on-demand platforms operating on these shores.

Confirmed Tuesday, Nov. 4, the new obligation will require those services with over 1 million domestic subscribers to invest 10% of total program expenditure here, or 7.5% of their total Australian revenue, to supporting local storytelling.

Related

Netflix, Disney, Amazon and other SVOD services will be compelled to comply by the legislation, which will be introduced to Parliament this week, the ABC reports.

Those quotas must pass that bar set by the Australian Content and Children’s Television Standard (ACCTS), meeting or exceeding the same requirements currently applied to commercial and subscription television services.

“We have Australian content requirements on free-to-air television and pay television, but until now, there has been no guarantee that we could see our own stories on streaming services,” minister for the arts Tony Burke remarked.

“Since their introduction in Australia, streaming services have created some extraordinary shows. This obligation will ensure that those stories — our stories — continue to be made.”

APRA AMCOS celebrated the announcement as an “incredible first step for Australia.” Whether the next step is a long-mooted content quotas for streaming music platforms, time will tell.

The Australian-made regulation, says Dean Ormston, CEO of APRA AMCOS, is a critical mechanism “within a global content market where extraordinary local stories and local music can be drowned out by content from major overseas markets.”

Critically, he adds, “the obligation includes requirements to spend on post-production in Australia, opening the door for Australian screen composers and local music to play a central role in telling our stories. This represents a significant new opportunity for Australia’s music creators.”

The Albanese government’s announcement follows the presentation last week of APRA AMCOS’s 2025 Screen Music Awards, and delivers on Canberra’s commitment in its national cultural policy, the five-year action plan dubbed Revive.

With its presentation in January 2023, the federal government mapped out a timeline for legislation that would enforce local content quotas on streaming platforms. “For video streaming,” federal minister of the arts Tony Burke said at the time, “the timeline is locked in.”

The new rules should’ve been implemented in 2024 but were delayed over concerns on how they might create a stumbling block for Australia’s trade agreement with the United States.

The champagne corks aren’t exactly flying, but the Australian creative community has cause to celebrate. The government’s commitment to investing in Australian storytelling comes on the heels of last week’s decision that there would be no exception for big tech in Australia’s copyright regime to allow for text and data mining.

“This announcement marks a landmark day for the Australian screen industry,” enthuses Screen Producers Australia CEO Matthew Deaner. “For too long, our local production sector has operated in an uneven environment where global streaming services could reap the benefits of doing business in Australia without contributing fairly to the creation of Australian stories.”

The commitment is “the result of years of advocacy,” he continues. “It recognizes that Australian stories matter, and that they deserve to be seen and heard on every platform.”

Additionally, Disney+ Japan will add a dedicated feature on the platform’s home page, branded as “TVING Highlights,” sitting alongside Disney+’s franchises, blockbuster hits and premium originals.

Subscribers can also access a curated “TVING Collection” hub, which brings all of the Korean streamer’s titles together in one place.

“As we celebrate five years of Disney+ in Japan, we remain committed to expanding our content offerings to reflect the diverse preferences of audiences,” said Tamotsu Hiiro, Managing Director, The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd. “This collaboration with CJ ENM and TVING is a significant step forward in that journey. We will continue to deliver compelling K-content to global audiences. Through this partnership with Disney, we aim to grow beyond Korea’s No.1 OTT into a truly global K-OTT platform.”

Tony Zameczkowski, Senior Vice President and General Manager, DTC (Direct-to-Consumer), Asia Pacific, The Walt Disney Company, said: “This collaboration with CJ ENM and TVING marks a pivotal moment in our regional content and partnership strategy.

“As Korean storytelling continues to captivate global audiences, we’re proud to bring CJ ENM and TVING’s most compelling series to Disney+ viewers in Japan. Apoorva Mukhija hints at retirement, criticises commercialisation of content creation: ‘I never took it that seriously’

Apoorva Mukhija says she wants to pursue new endeavors after gaining a fresh perspective from her reality TV experience on The Traitors.

Content creator Apoorva Mukhija has criticised the thriving commercialisation of content creation and signalled her intention to step away from the space. In an interview with The Indian Express, Mukhija described the online world as “a circus” in which news outlets chase her for clicks rather than merit.

Apoorva Mukhija has expressed her intention to step away from content creation, calling the industry a circus.

Apoorva Mukhija hints at retiring

Expressing her disillusionment with how content creation has turned into a business, Apoorva Mukhija said, “We all started doing this for fun, and now people call it an industry. It was just about talking to a camera , how did it become so serious? Now you have to fight to stay relevant, attend events, get papped, and maintain networks. I don’t know who commercialised this space so much. I never took it that seriously. I’m just a girl who wants to talk to a camera; it’s really not that deep.”

Highlighting her exhaustion with perpetual content creation, the creator said, “I want to retire from content creation. I have been doing it for too long, so I want to do something else. I am working on something else. If it pans out great, if it doesn’t, then I am always doing content.”

This announcement comes amid sustained scrutiny of Apoorva’s public appearances. Earlier this year, she faced backlash over remarks during an episode of Samay Raina’s India Got Latent, which even drew attention from the National Commission for Women.

Apoorva Mukhija’s career

Apoorva Mukhija first rose to fame as a digital creator, building a strong following through her unapologetic humour on social media. Her popularity on digital platforms eventually opened doors to the entertainment industry. Apoorva made her television debut with the reality show The Traitors India. Hosted by Karan Johar, the show premiered on June 12 this year, on Prime Video. The season concluded on July 3 with influencer Uorfi Javed and poker player Nikita Luther emerging as joint winners, taking home the top prize for outsmarting their fellow contestants.

written by jummy84

Shilpa Shirodkar was a contestant in Bigg Boss 18, and now she has admitted that season 19 is a confusing one for her. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the 90s actress revealed she is still in touch with the other contestants. She revealed why this season of the Salman Khan-hosted show is confusing. Scroll down to read what she said and watch the full interview.

Shilpa Shirodkar REACTS To Bigg Boss 19’s Degraded Content

When asked if she agrees that today’s reality TV content, such as Bigg Boss 19, has degraded content, Shilpa Shirodkar said, “I love Bigg Boss! Toh mujhe nahi lagta kuch bhi upar neeche, kam zyada. I’m no one to judge because Bigg Boss ke apne fans hain — main bhi Bigg Boss ki fan hoon. It’s enjoyable! I wait for 9 o’clock, I watch it, and I wait for the Weekend Ka Vaar. Mujhe acha lagta hai, kyunki matlab this season thoda confusing hai, kyunki mere abhi tak koi favourite nahi bana hai. So I’m a little like, why haven’t I got a favourite yet? So yeah, I’m curious to know ki mera favourite kab main bol paungi — ‘yeh mera favourite hai.’”

Shilpa On Being In Touch With Karan Veer, Chum Darang

Speaking of, if she is still in touch with her friends from Bigg Boss 18, Shilpa said, “Abhi bhi waise hi hai jaise tha — waise hi hai. And like I said, you know, itne din 24/7 ghar mein agar hum rehte hain, toh dosti ban jaati hai. Main toh nahi bolungi ki dushmani bhi bahar nibhaate hain log, kyunki possible hi nahi hai. Jab hum log bahar aate hain na, toh har din wo ghar ko itna miss karte hain hum log, ki jinke saath baat-cheet bhi nahi hoti, aisa lagta hai — yaar, kyun nahi baat hui? Baat ho jaani chahiye thi, because this time is never gonna come back in your life. Aur mere saath, my precious ones will always be my precious ones for life.”

Bigg Boss 19 is streaming on a 24/7 channel on JioHotstar and airing every night at 9:00 PM on JioHotstar and 10:30 PM on COLORS.

Hrithik Roshan Gets Relief From Unauthorised AI Content From Delhi HC- Deets Inside

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Hrithik Roshan has recently joined the growing list of celebrities who have taken legal steps to protect their personality rights. While it may seem like a trend among public figures, safeguarding personality rights is crucial, especially in the age of artificial intelligence.

Hrithik Roshan Gets Relief As Delhi High Court Protects Personality Rights

According to Lakshmikumaran Sridharan Attorneys, the term ‘celebrity’ is often seen as a mark of success and honour. Athletes and artists earn it through talent, businesspeople and TV personalities through wit, politicians via votes, and some acquire it by birth or chance involvement in high-profile events.

When celebrities seek to protect their personality rights, there are two key aspects: first, the right to prevent unauthorised commercial use of their image, known as publicity rights under intellectual property law; and second, the right to privacy, which is the right to be left alone.

According to a Law Beat report, Hrithik was granted relief by the Delhi High Court, which directed the removal of certain posts infringing on his personality rights, including unauthorized use of his name, image, and likeness. However, the court declined to order the immediate takedown of fan pages dedicated to him, stating that fans’ pages cannot be removed at this stage without proper proceedings.

Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora explained that fan clubs should be given a chance to respond, and the matter will be revisited on March 27, 2026.

Which Celebs Have Sought Personal Rights?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was among the first to legally defend her personality rights, followed by her husband Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and journalist Sudhir Chaudhary. Now, Hrithik Roshan has also taken legal action.

EXCLUSIVE: Content Creator Vishnu Kaushal Reveals If He’ll Ever Participate In Reality Shows Like Bigg Boss, Traitors

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Vishnu Kaushal is a well known content creator, actor, and storyteller known for his witty, relatable, and heartwarming social media content that resonates with both his Gen Z and millennial audience. Kuashal – who began his career with short sketches and relatable reels, has now grown into one of the most versatile voices in India’s digital creator ecosystem.

During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Vishnu Kaushal opened up about many things, including why he choose to become a content creator and whether he’ll ever participate in reality shows like Bigg Boss, Traitors and Rise And Fall. Read on to know all his answers.

Vishnu Kaushal On Becoming A Content Creator

When asked why he decided to become a content creator instead of doing a 9-to-5 office job like many millennials, Vishnu Kaushal replied, “Choosing content creation over a traditional 9-to-5 wasn’t a decision I took lightly. It was more about the freedom to express myself and connect with an audience that resonates with my ideas. Early on, I realized the power of reliability — it’s not just about what you create, but how authentically you present it. People today seek genuine connections. Content creation allows me to do that in a way traditional job didn’t.”

Talking about how difficult it for him to find his footing in the content creation space and begin earning through the videos he created, Vishnu shared, “It wasn’t easy at all. When I first started, I was experimenting with different forms of content, trying to understand what worked and what didn’t. It took time to develop my unique style, but once I found my groove, things started to come together.”

He added, “There was a lot of trial and error, but the key was staying true to my voice. Earning from content creation was a slow and organic process. The real breakthrough came when I realized that authenticity, consistency, and understanding my audience’s needs were the pillars of success.”

Vishnu Kaushal On Doing Reality Shows Like Bigg Boss, Traitors

Over the last several years, we’ve seen many content creators venture into the reality show space with shows like Bigg Boss, Traitors and Rise And Fall. When asked if he would like to be part of such shows if an opportunity comes, Vishnu Kaushal answered, “I’ve always believed that stepping outside your comfort zone is essential for personal growth. Reality shows like Bigg Boss or Traitors have certainly become platforms where content creators can showcase different aspects of their personalities. They provide a unique opportunity to connect with a much broader audience and present an unfiltered version of oneself. So, to answer your question—I would be open to participating in a reality show if the opportunity felt right.”

He continued, “For me, the key is maintaining my authenticity. I’ve built my brand on being relatable and real with my audience, and that’s something I wouldn’t want to compromise on a reality show. I wouldn’t be interested in participating just for the sake of fame; it would have to be an experience that allows me to express my true self, without trying to fit into a narrative that doesn’t align with who I am.”

Vishnu continued, “On the flip side, I understand how intense these shows can be. They’re a huge commitment, both mentally and emotionally, and not every show might suit my style or values. If the show gives me the opportunity to showcase my true personality, have meaningful interactions, and also engage with my audience in a way that aligns with my brand, then I’d definitely be open to it. But if I felt like it would conflict with my values or the image I’ve worked hard to build, I’d respectfully pass.”
