‘Jeopardy!’ Confirms Season 42 Tournaments and Streaming Details

Get ready, Jeopardy! fans. Season 42 of the game show is right around the corner, and Jeopardy! just revealed which tournaments are coming back, as well as how fans can stream episodes after the season starts.

Season 42 will see the return of Second Chance and Champions Wildcard competitions, the Tournament of Champions (ToC), and Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament (JIT). The “postseason” tournaments will air later in the season with Ken Jennings hosting, as well as the syndicated show and Celebrity Jeopardy!. 

Fans will be able to see all-new episodes of Jeopardy! starting on September 8 on syndicated channels, but if they miss an episode, they will be available to stream the next day on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, Peacock (in the U.S.), and Crave (in Canada). The latest five episodes of the new season will be available on the streamers.

“Having new episodes of Jeopardy! available on streaming for the first time is a huge milestone in the history of our program, and we look forward to welcoming a new audience on these platforms,” Suzanne Prete, president of game shows for Sony Pictures Television, said in a press release.

“We want to celebrate that leap forward while also making sure our viewers know that if they watch Jeopardy! on their local station, they will continue to be able to do so. Our affiliate and owned station partners around the country remain essential to the show’s success.”

In addition to the new season, Jeopardy! fans will be able to watch a collection of library episodes from the game show’s past seasons. Every single episode of Ken Jennings’ 74-game streak will be available, as well as streaks from other top champions. Peacock and Crave will also stream a collection of episodes featuring Alex Trebek’s travels around the world.

Jonathan Hugendubler, from Baltimore, Maryland, will face off against two new opponents on the season premiere after defeating superchamp Scott Riccardi in the finale.

PJ Washington Seemingly Confirms $90M Contract Extension

Roommates, it looks like the money is long and flowing this week in the PJ Washington household. He recently took to social media to respond to reports that he secured a $90 million contract extension with the Dallas Mavericks. The news comes just two days after his wife, Alisah Chanel, revealed the Rolls-Royce she gifted him for his 27th birthday. It also follows viral footage of a tense argument between PJ and his eldest son’s mother, Brittany Renner.

PJ Washington Seemingly Confirms Dallas Mavericks Extension 

ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania first reported the extension news on September 3 via X, formerly Twitter. In the tweet, Shams said the forward player secured the $90 million contract through his agent, Kevin Bradbury of LIFT Sports Management. Bradbury also confirmed the contract extension to ESPN. The new deal will reportedly keep PJ Washington on the Dallas Mavericks through the 2029-2030 season after they traded for him during the 2023-2024 campaign. Complex reports that the pro-baller was a key component in the franchise’s playoff run last season.

PJ hasn’t said much about the deal on his social media, but it appears he did co-sign the news. Two minutes after Shams Charania’s announcement, Washington replied, “God is God,” with a prayer hands emoticon.

PJ’s Wife Also Flexes Her Wallet

Meanwhile, it seems the Washington household is already in good financial standing! About a week after the pro-baller’s 27th birthday, his wife Alisah revealed the luxury gift she blessed her man with. Photos and a video on her Instagram page show that she got him a 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan with bright orange interior seats and a dark grey exterior. The high-end vehicle retails for around $400,000. In the post’s comment section, Washington wrote, “I love you” with three emojis.

Will Little PJ Get A Cut Of Daddy’s Check?

Outside the Washington home, PJ encountered a tense situation with his firstborn’s mother, Brittany. Viral footage circulated over the weekend showing him and Renner in a heated argument as he picked up his son from her house. Her mother was recording the entire interaction, which showed little PJ upset as his mother handed him over. The verbal tussle moved from Renner’s front door to the side of his truck, where he eventually blurted out, “Man suck d*ck” while strapping his son into the car seat. After her mother challenged him to say it again, he did, along with some other NSFW words. Brittany and her mother matched the energy, and eventually Alisah stepped in with some words, too! That didn’t happen until Renner’s mother shouted, “$170,000 to your hoe but $11,000 in your son’s bank account.” In her clapback, wifey shouted, “Shut the f**k up before I beat your a*s” and Renner’s mother dared her to before the clip cut off.

It’s still unclear what day the argument happened or where the co-parents stand. No one involved has issued any statements about the beef. On Wednesday, Renner shared a photo from little PJ’s first day of school. It appears that Washington was not present. On the contrary, he was front and center for his second son’s first day, per photos shared by the mother and wife, Alisah.

Julia Garner Confirms Madonna Biopic Is Still On: ‘Work in Progress’

Yes, Julia Garner is still on to play Madonna in an upcoming biopic on the superstar, the existence of which has long been called into question due to a series of delays.

The Weapons actress confirmed as much in an on-camera interview with W Magazine posted Wednesday (Sept. 3). When asked whether she’d for sure be starring as the Queen of Pop, Garner replied enthusiastically, “Yeah!”

“I can’t say too much about it, but yes,” she continued. “It’s a work in progress.”

Garner also shared some of her favorite Madonna songs. “Oh my god, I have so many,” she said, rattling off a list. “I love ‘Borderline,’ that’s probably my favorite … I love all of Madonna basically is what I’m trying to say. ”

She added, “I just love Madonna’s voice on ‘Papa Don’t Preach.’ There’s a lot of emotions in that song.”

The interview comes more than three years after Garner was first reportedly cast to play Madge in the biopic in mid-2022. By January 2023, reports emerged that the project had been scrapped, but the following year, Madonna teased on social media that it was back on.

Shortly before confirming as much to W, Garner said on a July episode of Will Arnett and Jason Bateman’s Smartless podcast that the film was indeed “still brewing” and “supposed to still happen.”

“I kind of just wanted to see if I could do it,” she added at the time of the audition process. “Because I wasn’t a trained dancer and I had to learn how to dance and then dance in front of her and convince her that I can dance, basically, and sing. And sing with her!”

August Alsina Confirms Zu Is His Boyfriend And He’s Never Groomed Him

August Alsina and his partner Zu are no longer leaving fans to guess the nature of their relationship as the two are officially a couple.

The R&B singer first raised eyebrows back in 2022 when he introduced Zu as his “love” during his appearance on VH1’s Surreal Life. At the time, many took it as Alsina’s way of “coming out,” though the pair never quite defined their relationship publicly.

Still, the signs of a romance were there as they didn’t shy away from matching fits, cozy photos together, joint music ventures and even intimately posing together for Alsina’s Encina Wellness brand.

Following a recent appearance during ATL Pride Weekend event at Opium club, Zu decided to clarify their relationship after murmurs of when they met began looming on social media. Many began speculating that August began dating Zu while he was a minor, and according to the rapper, that simply isn’t true.

“August is my boyfriend,” Zu wrote in a lengthy IG Story post. “This my first and only time addressing this, I don’t give a f**k about any external validation whatsoever. I don’t need anyone’s likeness, but I’m a grown a** man, with his own mind and free will… if I ever do anything it’s because I want to do it.”

Zu addressed the timeline of their relationship, shutting down claims about when they first crossed paths. “I met August when I was already of age, an adult. Aug didn’t even know me when I was 16 or 17… not sure where that came from. Yea, there’s a slight age difference but y’all pick and choose who to judge when it comes to that.”

“We will have known each other for 5 years toward the end of the year, so he’s speaking in future terms because that’s where we plan to make it.”

He also shared that they kept quiet about their relationship for so long because it was about keeping the peace. “I know I’m not an internet person and prioritize my peace before anything, and protect my relationship, because the media at times can seep in and tarnish beautiful dynamics… but I can see how being quiet, and trying to protect something of value to you, can allow some people to spin the narrative and create a bunch of different scenarios which aren’t true.”

“Aug gives me a GREAT life, & I’m thankful,” he added, praising his man. “What y’all don’t know is, that I run this relationship…I call the shots, August just shows up and supports me in whatever I want to do. He supports my dream, He IS A DREAM!”

Moments later, Alsina hopped on X to echo his partner’s sentiments and shut down the critics, reaffirming their love and the facts of how they met.

Responding to one X user who defended their relationship, he wrote online, “Ni**as be so desperate to project their unhappiness and spin a narrative, it’s truly a reflection of the deeply unhealed inner-child.” In another post he jokingly capped his stance with, “Signed -a closeted nigxa.. cus why u as a grown a** man, worried bout another grown man dixk!”

Xbox Game Pass confirms big titles for September 2025

Microsoft has confirmed a handful of titles that will be joining Xbox Game Pass over the next couple of weeks – check out the confirmed list below:

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives both Xbox and PC players access to a massive library of games. To keep things fresh, new titles are constantly being added while other games are removed.

In total, 21 games were added in August including Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Farming Simulator 25 and the surprise release of the remastered Heretic + Hexen while both Gears Of War: Reloaded and Dragon Age: The Veilguard were added last week. A handful of games were also removed from the servicing including Borderlands 3.

Now Microsoft has confirmed the first titles that will be joining Xbox Game Pass this month.

All the games confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2025:

  • Hollow Knight: Silksong  – September 4 for Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor – September 6 for Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Frostpunk 2 – September 18 for Ultimate and PC subscribers

Subscribers will also be able to play ten-hour trials of NHL 26 (September 5) and EA Sports FC 26 (September 19).

Microsoft will announce more titles for Xbox Game Pass later this month, as well as confirming which games will be leaving the service this September.

Earlier this year, Microsoft confirmed 19 Day One releases would be joining the Xbox Game Pass service throughout 2025 and beyond, The Outer Worlds 2 will launch in October alongside Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7, Keeper and Ninja Gaiden 4 while a number of titles will follow in 2026. 

Back in May, more than 50 classic games were made available for Game Pass subscribers as part of Microsoft’s Retro Classics. “This initiative is a step in our commitment to game preservation and backwards compatibility, allowing players to experience many timeless games on modern devices.”

In other news, Team Cherry has revealed the launch details for Hollow Knight: Silksong. The long-awaited sequel will be available to play from 3pm September 4.

Tamar Braxton’s dentist, Dr. Amira, is speaking out about the singer’s traumatic fall, which Tamar says nearly k*lled her, and says sleepwalking may have been the cause.

In a video shared to Tamar’s official YouTube channel, Dr. Amira detailed the graphic extent of Tamar’s injuries, confirming she suffered multiple fractured teeth, had one tooth completely knocked out, and even broke her septum.

While she reassured fans that Tamar’s smile can be restored, she noted the recovery will require multiple dental procedures. She also offered advice for what others should do if they ever face a similar emergency.

Dr. Amira added that while the exact cause of the fall is still uncertain, she and other medical professionals believe it may have been due to sleepwalking after ruling out other conditions like stroke and seizure.

Tamar first revealed details of the scary incident earlier this month, saying she “almost d*ed” after waking up in a pool of blood.

On August 22, the 28-year-old reality star transported me back to the summer this writer turned pretty. The year was 2008 and I was an awkward 16-year-old theater nerd who’d never had a boyfriend. But as far as I was concerned, I’d just become the hottest junior counselor at day-camp thanks to a brand new pair of indigo bootcut True Religion jeans with the brand’s signature horseshoes stitched on its butt pockets.

It’s been 17 years and the True Religion renaissance is officially upon us as ’90s fatigue sets in and trends move forward in time. Jenner’s boyfriend Timothée Chalamet personally dedicated himself to reviving the Y2K brand during his A Complete Unknown press tour in winter 2025, while Alix Earle called her own Joey Flares the “cutest jeans ever” on TikTok earlier this month.

While many millennials balked at the idea of bringing back True Religion—and Earle’s use of the word “vintage”—in the comments, they might just have to get used to the idea as Kylie Jenner signals her approval to 392 million Instagram followers.

Like Earle, Jenner styled her ultra-low-rise True Religion jeans with a simple white tank top, allowing her red-stitched, lightly distressed denim to take center stage. Hostage creator confirms season 2 hopes and shares how show could evolve

Having ended with Sylvie’s (Isobel Akuwudike) surprise murder of Shagan (Martin McCann), the series then pans to a three-month flash-forward with Abigail (Suranne Jones) calling a surprise general election.

She does so in order to foster a more trusting relationship with the British public and it is clearly a decision her team and family are both behind. But ending Hostage in such a way surely opens up the potential for more.

We asked series creator Matt Charman about a possible Hostage season 2 and it’s something he would be keen to explore.

Chatting exclusively to RadioTimes.com, Charman revealed: “Look, I would love to tell more of this story, partly because I love writing for Suranne. But I also think there’s something really exciting about who she might go up against next. What her next opposite number might be, you know?

“Yeah, if we were lucky enough, I’d love to take this story on.”

When asked if season 2 would seek to replicate another hostage situation (as per the title of the show), Charman said: “Well, ‘hostage’ means different things. When I think about the show, I don’t really think about Alex, I think more about the two leaders, I think of Suranne and Julie’s characters.

“They’re the hostages, they’re the ones being held and they’re the ones that are being blackmailed. So, it’s really about riffing on that word ‘hostage’, what does it mean to be under someone else’s control? So I think that’s where I would kind of explore further.”

Would a future season of Hostage include Jones once again? “I love working with Suranne, I’d do anything with her,” Charman added. “So yeah, for me, that would be fun.”

The series marks Jones’s first stint on Netflix, not only leading the cast of the new five-parter but also serving as an executive producer.

With a general election being called in the Hostage finale, we could find Abigail re-elected in a potential season 2 or she may have forged an entirely new political career path for herself.

Either way, it would be interesting to see how the word ‘hostage’ could factor into any future episodes.

Charman also teased to RadioTimes.com that it would be “fun to explore” the impact of Sylvie’s decision to shoot Shagan.

He said: “It was completely intentional around Sylvie because I think, truthfully, those ripples are… they never stop.

“If you do that, if you’re in a situation where you do something that completely crosses a line as a human being, there’s no end to that trauma or that sense of who am I now, who was I before? That would be fun to explore, what that does to a person as they enter adulthood.”
