bitchy | King Charles & Camilla will spend two days in Vatican City & meet Pope Bob

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

This past April, King Charles and Queen Camilla visited Italy. The backstory on the royal tour is fascinating – at the end of 2023, Kensington Palace teased a potential royal tour of Italy for the Prince and Princess of Wales. Then Kate’s medical situation and disappearance happened, and the Italian trip was no longer on the table. Suddenly, Charles and Camilla were the ones planning a visit to Rome. They ended up scheduling it around their wedding anniversary, so it felt less like a royal tour and more like an Italian vacation with some public events. The original plan also involved a stop in Vatican City to meet with Pope Francis. Franny got very ill, so the Vatican canceled on C&C. But C&C wouldn’t take no for an answer – they ended up visiting Francis anyway and getting a brief photo-op. They also got the Vatican to issue a statement about how Franny wished them well on their anniversary. The whole thing was actually pretty tacky, especially given that Francis died soon after.

Well, Charles and Camilla are bizarrely undeterred. They’ve apparently rescheduled a visit to the Vatican and they have plans to meet the new pope in person. Pope Leo (aka Pope Bob) has apparently agreed to all of this? Hm.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to meet with Pope Leo during an official state visit to Vatican City next month. The Sun reported over the weekend that the King and Queen will spend around two days in the holy city in October, an abbreviated trip following their official state visit to Italy earlier this year.

King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 78, were originally set to make an official visit to the Vatican in April as part of the Italy trip. However, it was postponed due to Pope Francis’ ill health at the time. Instead, the royal couple met privately with the Catholic leader on April 9.

Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, April 21, at the age of 88, following months of health struggles — which included a 38-day hospitalization, where he was treated for double pneumonia. Following Pope Francis’ death, the cardinals of the Catholic Church gathered for the papal conclave, where they selected Pope Leo XIV — previously known as Cardinal Robert Prevost — as the 267th pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

While the King and Queen have yet to officially meet Pope Leo, 70, in person, the Catholic leader recently extended a meaningful gesture to the royal family. Earlier this month, the Pope sent a surprise tribute to the late Katharine, Duchess of Kent, who died on Sept. 4 at age 92. The Duchess’s funeral mass on Sept. 16, conducted by the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster, Cardinal Vincent Nichols, was historic as the first Catholic funeral for a member of the British royal family in modern history.

[From People]

Charles does have a commitment to embracing all people of faith, not just Anglicans. But his obsession with popes is weird, right? He’s all about popes. Why is it so important for him to get facetime with Pope Bob? Most of Europe’s Catholic royals have already met with Pope Bob, or they made a point of attending one of his first Masses. I guess Charles didn’t want to be left out. (Incidentally, I still haven’t completely absorbed the fact that the new pope is a guy named Bob from Chicago.)

Is Taylor Swift Going to the Kansas City Chiefs—New York Giants Game on September 21?

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Between her engagement and album announcements, Taylor Swift has been full of surprises these past couple of months. But will she shock fans by attending the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Giants on September 21?

The Kansas City Chiefs are scheduled to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium at 8:30pm ET, and many fans are wondering if/when the team’s most famous WAG will make an appearance. Though Swift brought an army of friends to cheer on Travis Kelce from one of the stadium’s VIP suite back in 2023, the pop star did not attend any of last year’s regular season away games due to her Eras Tour schedule and alleged security concerns. She did, however, make it to all but one of her partner’s home games.

It remains to be seen if Swift will attend some of her fiancé’s away games now that she’s wrapped up her world tour. While she may not be flying all over the world, the album rollout for The Life of a Showgirl might conflict with some of Kelce’s games—not to mention Selena Gomez’s upcoming wedding to Benny Blanco, which is rumored to take place by the end this month.

If Taylor Swift attends the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Giants on September 21, it would mark her first regular season away game in over a year. Of course, there’s already been a break in Swift’s attendance pattern in 2025.

As expected, Swift skipped the Chief’s opening game in Brazil, but she also appeared to miss the first half of their home game on September 14. According to some reports, Swift eventually snuck into Arrowhead Stadium behind a large rolling screen midway through the game and People later confirmed her attendance.

The life of a showgirl is anything but predictable, so we’ll just have to wait and see if Taylor Swift switches things up again tonight.

Oasis Launches Latin American Leg of Tour With Mexico City Concert

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited in Mexico after 17 years on Friday (Sept. 12), and the long wait to see Oasis live again was worth every moment — with the differences that led to their 2009 breakup behind replaced by a celebration of pure, unfiltered rock and roll.

The British band’s inaugural stop in Latin America on their highly successful Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour — which launched in Cardiff, Wales, on July 4 — drew a crowd of 65,000 fans at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros, according to promoter OCESA. It was the first of two sold-out nights at the iconic venue, which witnessed a majestic two-hour performance featuring songs that have become generational anthems globally.

“¡Viva México!”, shouted frontman Liam Gallagher visibly moved, as he walked onto the stage hand in hand with his brother Noel. “It’s good to be back!”

The massive screens displayed the message “This is happening,” followed by “Mexico City,” setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Later, Liam delivered another compliment that the crowd celebrated enthusiastically: “You’re fuchsia, beautiful, heavenly and majestic.”

The setlist performed in the Latin American country stayed true to what the band has been playing in previous shows, opening with “Hello” and including tracks like “Acquiesce,” “Morning Glory,” “Some Might Say,” “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” “Supersonic,” “Stand by Me” and “Live Forever.” And closing with the powerful “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova.”

As has been the tradition during their reunion tour, Oasis was joined on stage by a cardboard cutout of Spanish soccer manager Pep Guardiola, who leads Manchester City. But here, they gave it a Mexican touch by placing a traditional charro sombrero on it.

One of the most emotional moments came during the performance of “Acquiesce,” when Noel sang the song’s chorus with heartfelt conviction: “Because we need each other, we believe in one another,” creating a feeling of hope among fans.

On the eve of the show, Oasis announced their arrival by lighting up Mexico City’s sky with a drone display that formed the band’s name. The spectacle flew over the majestic Bosque de Chapultepec, surprising locals and quickly going viral on social media.

For this leg of their tour, the Gallagher brothers were joined by guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthur, guitarist Gem Archer, bassist Andy Bell, and drummer Joey Waronker. The opening act for the night was the American rock band Cage the Elephant.

On Saturday (Sept. 13), Oasis is set to perform a second night in Mexico City before heading back to London for two shows at Wembley Stadium, on Sept. 27 and 28. The Latin American leg of the tour will resume on Nov. 15 in Argentina, continuing through Chile and concluding in Brazil on Nov. 22-23.

Step into the past: Why heritage walks are the best way to explore a city beyond tourist spots

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Some journeys take you forward, but heritage walks? They take you back in time, straight into the heart of history. From narrow winding lanes filled with the aroma of old-world kitchens to majestic forts echoing with tales of kings and queens, heritage walks are like living storybooks waiting to be read. They’re about experiencing the pulse of a place, one step at a time.

Step into the past: Why heritage walks are the best way to explore a city(Freepik)

In today’s fast-paced world, where we click pictures faster than we blink, slowing down to walk through history feels almost meditative. Be it the colonial charm of Kolkata, the Mughal grandeur of Delhi, or the regal lanes of Jaipur, a heritage walk lets you connect with culture, architecture, and traditions in the most authentic way. Here’s why your next weekend outing should be less about malls and more about monuments.

1. Time travel without a machine

Every heritage walk is like stepping into a time capsule. Cobblestone streets, crumbling havelis, restored stepwells, and forgotten temples, all become part of your journey. You don’t just see history, you feel it under your feet. The chipped walls whisper stories of rulers, rebels, and everyday lives once lived within those very lanes.

Tip: Read up a little before your walk. Knowing the stories makes the experience richer.

2. Architecture that speaks volumes

From domes and arches to ornate jharokhas and carved pillars, heritage sites are open-air lessons in architecture. These structures showcase the brilliance of artisans who created wonders without modern machinery. Standing before a centuries-old fort or temple, you start to appreciate the balance of design, symmetry, and sheer human creativity.

Tip: Carry a good camera or even your phone, details like intricate carvings are worth capturing.

3. Food is part of the history too

A heritage walk isn’t complete without tasting the flavours that shaped a region. From Lucknow’s melt-in-the-mouth galouti kebabs to Ahmedabad’s fafdas and jalebis, food stalls become cultural pit stops. Each dish has a story, recipes passed down for generations, cooked in the same old kitchens, seasoned with nostalgia.

Tip: Go light on breakfast, heritage walks are best enjoyed on a half-full stomach ready for snacks!

4. Culture in every corner

Watch artisans weaving textiles, potters shaping clay, or shopkeepers running century-old family businesses. A quick chat with locals often reveals tales no guidebook could capture, giving you a real slice of living culture.

Tip: Interact with locals as they often share the most fascinating stories not found in guidebooks.

5. Fitness meets exploration

Walking through forts, palaces, and old towns is like sneaking in a workout without even realising it. You burn calories, climb stairs, and cover long distances all while absorbing history and culture. It’s fitness for the body and nourishment for the soul.

Tip: Wear comfortable shoes. Heritage walks are marathons for the soul, not stilettos.

6. Perfect for photographers and dreamers

Every corner of a heritage trail is a frame waiting to be captured, colourful doors, peeling walls, murals, or sunlit courtyards. For dreamers, these sights fuel imagination, sparking thoughts of what life must have been like centuries ago.

Tip: Morning walks often give the best light for pictures.

7. Pocket-friendly adventure

Unlike expensive vacations, heritage walks are easy on the pocket. Many are free, and guided walks are usually budget-friendly. All you need is curiosity, a water bottle, and comfortable shoes. It’s proof that adventure doesn’t always require flight tickets or luxury stays.

Tip: Many cities have guided heritage walks, signing up for one is worth it.

8. A chance to disconnect to reconnect

In a world buzzing with notifications, heritage walks help you slow down. Away from screens, deadlines, and traffic jams, you rediscover the joy of being present. You reconnect with history, culture, and often, with yourself.

Tip: Keep your phone on silent for stretches of the walk and immerse fully in the atmosphere.

Heritage walks are experiences stitched together with stories, architecture, food, and culture. They remind us that history isn’t confined to books; it lives in every stone, every street, and every tale whispered by the walls. So next time you’re looking for an outing, skip the usual café hunt and lace up your walking shoes instead. Because sometimes, the best way to move forward is to walk a little into the past.

Is Taylor Swift Going to the Kansas City Chiefs–Los Angeles Chargers Game in Brazil?

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Welcome back to “Will Taylor Swift Be at the Chiefs Game?” season!

While pumpkin spice menu options are the harbinger of fall and Labor Day officially marks its beginning, the start of football season is the true nail in the coffin for summer. While this is cause for celebration amongst fashion and Halloween girlies alike, it can be a somber times for all the real-life Belly Conklins out there. Luckily, there’s one thing we can all celebrate: more Taylor Swift.

During her summer hiatus, Swift popped up to tease two major projects that will keep Swifties occupied for the foreseeable future: her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, and her upcoming wedding to NFL superstar Travis Kelce.

While TLOAS drops on October 3, wedding planning will probably have to wait until the end of football season and whatever promo Swift has planned for her latest album. A source recently told People that the couple “just want to enjoy being engaged” and are “not in the wedding planning phase yet.”

As of this very moment, Kelce is preparing for his first Kansas City Chiefs game of the season, with the team set to take on the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo on September 5. Given that Swift is not attending this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, many fans suspect she may have joined her fiancé in Brazil instead.

While her absence from the VMAs could be due to a football-related travel schedule, it’s worth noting that Swift skipped all of last year’s away games, aside from the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans. However, she could be tempted to break that pattern in order to celebrate her WAG promotion from girlfriend to fiancée. Only time will tell, so you’ll have to stream the game live on YouTube at 8 p.m. ET to find out.

As Swift said during her surprise appearance on Kelce’s New Heights podcast: “If there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens, it’s more of me.” She was being sarcastic but I’m not.
