Was ‘The Savant’ Canceled? Apple’s Decision on Jessica Chastain Series – Hollywood Life

Less than two weeks after ABC temporarily suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Apple TV+ postponed the release of its crime thriller series The Savant starring Jessica Chastain. The actress promptly spoke out about the decision, prompting many to wonder if the show was — or will be — canceled.

Find out what’s going on with The Savant and its fate below.

Was The Savant Canceled?

No, despite some confusion online, The Savant has not been canceled by Apple; its release, however, has been postponed. The news came right on the heels of Charlie Kirk‘s assassination.

The Savant was scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform on September 24, 2025.

Why Was The Savant Postponed From its Initial Release?

In a statement from Apple obtained by Variety, the company did not cite a specific release behind The Savant‘s postponement. The statement read, “After careful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone The Savant. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a future date.”

Jessica spoke out about Apple’s surprising decision in a lengthy social media statement. The actress began her note by emphasizing how much she values her “partnership” with Apple, calling them “incredible collaborators.”

I want to say how much I value my partnership with Apple. They’ve been incredible collaborators and I deeply respect their team. That said, I wanted to reach out and let you know that we’re not aligned on the decision to pause the release of The Savant. In the last five years… pic.twitter.com/qZyPXjYhbK

“That said, I wanted to reach out and let you know that we’re not aligned on the decision to pause the release of The Savant,” the Zero Dark Thirty actress wrote before pointing to multiple instances of political violence over the past few years. “In the last five years since we’ve been making the show, we’ve seen an unfortunate amount of violence in the United States: the kidnapping attempt on Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer; the January 6th attack on the Capitol; the assassination attempts on President [Donald] Trump; the political assassinations of Democratic representatives in Minnesota; the attack on Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi’s husband; the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk; the recent shooting at an ABC affiliate station in California; and over 300 school shootings across this country. These incidents, though far from encompassing the full range of violence witnessed in the United States, illustrate a broader mindset that crosses the political spectrum and must be confronted.”

Jessica continued, “I’ve never shied away from difficult subjects, and while I wish this show wasn’t so relevant, unfortunately it is. The Savant is about the heroes who work every day to stop violence before it happens, and honoring their courage feels more urgent than ever. While I respect Apple’s decision to pause the release for now, I remain hopeful the show will reach audiences soon. Until then, I’m wishing safety and strength for everyone, and I’ll let you know if and when The Savant is released.”

What Is The Savant About?

The Savant‘s official logline points out that Jessica’s character, Jodi Goodwin, is an “undercover investigator known as ‘The Savant’ [who] she infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act.”

NBA YoungBoy’s Manager Says United Center ‘B*tched Out’ After Chicago Concert Is Abruptly Canceled Allegedly Over Safety Concerns

Sorry in advance to those of you who thought you were seeing #NBAYoungBoy live this week in Chicago.

The #UnitedCenter has canceled the rapper’s show scheduled for Wednesday (Sept. 24). While the venue cited unspecified reasons for the abrupt cancellation, it’s highly speculated that it has to do with safety concerns. #Ticketmaster has issued automatic refunds to those who purchased tickets through its platform. For third-party purchases, attendees are advised to contact their point of purchase directly.

The cancellation follows the venue’s recent implementation of a strict no-bag policy for the event, prohibiting all bags, including clear ones. NBA YoungBoy’s manager expressed frustration on Instagram, stating, “United Center b!tched out,” and even slammed the person he believes made the final call.

This concert was part of NBA YoungBoy’s “Make America Slime Again” tour, which includes over two dozen U.S. dates through November.

Lilith Fair Doc Red Carpet Canceled Amid Kimmel Controversy

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

As Disney contends with a major controversy involving its suspension of Jimmy Kimmel, its ABC News Studios division has canceled a red carpet for today’s premiere of its documentary Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery – The Untold Story.

ABC News Studios informed the press of the red carpet cancellation via email on Saturday night, a day before the event. “Please note this event will no longer be hosting a red carpet,” the email reads, per Variety. “We appreciate your willingness to attend and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

That message also came just 24 hours after a confirmation email told reporters and photographers that Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, and Mýa would be walking the red carpet. The Ford in Hollywood will still host a premiere screening and surprise performances, according to the report.

ABC News Studios didn’t explain the red carpet cancellation, Variety adds, but the switch-up comes after days of outcry over ABC taking Jimmy Kimmel Live! off air over Kimmel’s comments about Charlie Kirk.

Amid mass outrage over the network’s silencing of Kimmel, social media users — including celebrities — are urging others to boycott Disney by canceling their Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN subscriptions. Tatiana Maslany, Misha Collins, and Wil Wheaton all promoted the subscription boycott, USA Today reports.

In unlucky timing for the Lilith Fair team, the documentary, directed by Ally Pankiw, premieres in the United States today on Hulu. The documentary draws from new interviews and 600 hours of footage to “[tell] the history of the groundbreaking music festival featuring only women artists, started by iconic Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan and her team in the late 1990s, in opposition to systematic industry barriers that limited women from playing together on a concert bill and getting back-to-back airplay on the radio.”

Aside from McLachlan, Jewel, and Mýa, original Lilith Fair artists Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, Paula Cole, Natalie Merchant, Emmylou Harris, and the Indigo Girls are interviewed in the documentary, as well as Brandi Carlile and Olivia Rodrigo.

Is ‘The View’ Getting Canceled? Update on the Show’s Future – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Entertainment and news media have seen shocking shake-ups in the past year. From late 2024 into early 2025, major TV anchors and hosts abruptly exited their roles at top networks, while others were cut altogether, including Stephen Colbert. The turbulence only escalated when Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show was suspended after controversial monologue comments.

With so many high-profile changes, viewers are now speculating about who could be next. One show in particular has sparked questions: will ABC’s longtime daytime staple The View be taken off the air?

Below, Hollywood Life has a full breakdown on what’s going on and whether or not The View could be canceled.

The View Current Co-Hosts

Is 'The View' Canceled? Go Behind the 2025 Rumors
Whoopi Goldberg on ‘The View’ (ABC)

Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farrah Griffin, Ana Navarro and Sara Haines are the current co-hosts of the daytime TV show. Whoopi is the longest-running co-host of The View, having worked with the show for nearly 20 consecutive seasons.

Is The View Canceled?

No, The View has not been canceled by ABC. Rumors of a cancelation have been spreading all over social media since at least 2024, with many criticizing the show for its political segments. While all co-hosts have criticized Donald Trump and his administration, the most outspoken critic on the show is Whoopi. But Joy managed to poke the bear enough to initiate a response from the White House in July 2025. She joked that Trump is “jealous” of former President Barack Obama.

“Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” a White House spokesperson told multiple outlets. “It’s no surprise that The View’s ratings hit an all-time low last year. She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off-air.”

The View had its highest viewership in about two years back in February 2024, according to The Wrap. At the time, Executive Producer Brian Teta told the publication that the show’s uptick in audience numbers was due, in part, to the guests they’ve invited onto the show in recent years.

“Daytime audiences turn to The View for news and politics, and this presidential election year is off to a great start,” Brian told The Wrap. “We’ve had some tremendous political guests in January including Vice President Kamala Harris, Liz Cheney and Chris Christie and just this week, we welcomed Democratic Leader Hakeem Jefferies. Politicians know that if they want to speak to an engaged audience, there’s no better place to be. There are conversations happening at this table during ‘Hot Topics,’ and with our guests during interviews that aren’t happening anywhere else on television … and we’re also having a lot of fun.”

Canceled News Shows

Toward the end of 2024 and at the start of 2025, a wide array of news shows were axed from their networks. Joy Reid‘s MSNBC show The ReidOut is reportedly being cut from the network. Previously, CBS Evening News‘ Norah O’Donnell, Today’s’s Hoda Kotb, Fox News’ Neil Cavuto and several other anchors stepped down from their positions.

Late night television is going through major changes in 2025. CBS confirmed that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end next year, just weeks after Stephen Colbert picked up another Emmy for Outstanding Variety Talk Series. Over at ABC, Jimmy Kimmel also added to his résumé with a Creative Arts Emmy win for Outstanding Host for a Game Show thanks to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. But his celebration was short-lived — ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been suspended indefinitely following backlash over Kimmel’s recent on-air remarks about the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing.

As viewers come to terms with Colbert’s looming exit and Kimmel’s show being pulled from the schedule, questions are swirling about the future of late night and what might come next.

Below, Hollywood Life has a breakdown of why The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is ending.

Was The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Canceled?

Yes, CBS is canceling The Late Show franchise after more than three decades on the air. Stephen took over the show in 2015, and it was originally hosted by David Letterman.

When Is The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Ending?

The Late Show will end in May 2026, CBS executives announced on July 17, 2025.

Why Is The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Ending?

CBS decided to gut The Late Show with Stephen Colbert due to financial reasons, network executives explained in a statement released on July 17, 2025, obtained by Variety.

“We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise in May of 2026,” CBS executives said. “We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television.”

The executives added, “This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”

The merger between Paramount Global — the parent company of CBS —  and Skydance Media is expected to close this year.

Paramount has doubled down on its claim that canceling Stephen’s show was financial. Despite facing criticism from Stephen himself, the network has maintained its answer, with Paramount Global TV Media Chairman George Cheeks following up about the situation.

“The challenge in late night is that the advertising marketplace is in significant secular decline,” George said in an August 2025 press conference, per TV Insider. “We are huge fans of Colbert, we love the show, unfortunately, the economics made it a challenge for us to keep going.”

Is Stephen Colbert Leaving The Late Show?

Stephen did not leave The Late Show voluntarily. Per Variety, the comedian was informed of CBS’ decision on July 16, 2025, and he informed the audience at the next episode’s taping.

What Is Stephen Colbert’s Late Show Salary?

Stephen is reported to have made a salary of around $15 million per year with CBS while hosting The Late Show.

Is ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Canceled? Updates on the Late-Night Show’s Fate – Hollywood Life

Jimmy Kimmel is suspended from future broadcasts of his late-night comedy show “indefinitely, according to a statement from ABC. Just two months after Stephen Colbert‘s CBS show was axed, Kimmel’s was pulled off the air after the comedian made a comment related to Charlie Kirk‘s death and his suspected shooter, Tyler Robinson. Naturally, viewers wondered if the on-air suspension indicates a termination. So, is Jimmy Kimmel Live! canceled?

“Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be pre-empted indefinitely,” an ABC spokesperson said in a statement. According to CNN, the rep did not share further details. Kimmel has yet to publicly comment on ABC’s decision to yank his show off the air.

Below, get updates on the status of Kimmel’s comedy show.

Was Jimmy Kimmel Fired?

No, Kimmel was not fired by ABC, though he has been suspended until further notice.

Why Was Jimmy Kimmel Suspended?

ABC declined to elaborate on Kimmel’s suspension, but ABC affiliate Nexstar said it would not broadcast Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the “foreseeable future,” adding that it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Brendan Carr, the head of the Federal Communications Commission, criticized Kimmel’s comments related to Kirk’s shooting. Carr appeared on Benny Johnson’s show and said, “This is a very, very serious issue right now for Disney. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Disney needs to see some change here, but the individual licensed stations that are taking their content, it’s time for them to step up and say this, you know, garbage to the extent that that’s what comes down the pipe in the future isn’t something that we think serves the needs of our local communities. … There’s calls for Kimmel to be fired. I think you could certainly see a path forward for suspension over this.”

What Did Jimmy Kimmel Say About Charlie Kirk?

Kimmel condemned political violence and sent his condolences to Kirk’s family after the late Turning Point USA founder’s death was confirmed on September 10, 2025.

“Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?” Kimmel wrote via Instagram. “On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”

What Did Jimmy Kimmel Say About Tyler Robinson?

Kimmel referred to the “MAGA gang” while discussing Robinson, Kirk’s suspected shooter.

“The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during an episode of his show. “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

The comedian also showed Donald Trump‘s response to a reporter when asked how he was mourning Kirk.

“I think very good, and by the way, right there — do you see all the trucks?” the president asked, before adding, “They just started construction for the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they’ve been trying to get as, you know, for about 150 years. And it’s gonna be a beauty.”

Will Jimmy Kimmel Live! Be Canceled?

At the time of publication, there is no set air date for Kimmel’s return. However, ABC has not canceled his show altogether.

Reports suggest that Kimmel might walk away from ABC, though. Daily Mail reported that he’s “actively looking for ways to get out of his contract.”

Bob Vylan Netherlands Show Canceled Over Israel, Charlie Kirk Comments

by jummy84 September 15, 2025
written by jummy84

U.K. punk-rap provocateurs Bob Vylan have had their upcoming concert in Tilburg, Netherlands, canceled over comments made at a recent show that the venue said “clearly cross a line.”

During the duo’s recent show at Club Paradiso in Amsterdam, frontman Bobby Vylan repeated the “Death, death to the IDF” chant that turned the band into a flashpoint at Glastonbury earlier this summer. According to a report in De Telegraf, a conservative-leaning Dutch newspaper, Vylan also said, “Fuck the fascists, fuck the Zionists. Go find them in the streets.”

Along with these remarks, video also showed Vylan commenting on the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University last week. “I want to dedicate this next one to an absolute piece of shit of a human being,” Vylan said. “The pronouns: was/were. Cause if you chat shit, you will get banged. Rest in peace Charlie Kirk, you piece of shit.”

In response, the Tilburg club Poppodium 013 decided to cancel Bob Vylan’s show, which was scheduled to take place Tuesday, Sept. 16. It appears the decision was based largely on Vylan’s “go find them in the streets” comment, though it’s possible his statement on Kirk’s killing played some role, too.

“We believe the statements Bob Vylan made last night at Paradiso clearly cross a line,” Poppodium 013 wrote in a statement (via Google Translate). “We strongly reject the trivialization of political murder and the call to ‘go look for people in the streets.’”

They continued: “While we understand that the statements were made in the context of punk and activism, and that the reporting on them is sometimes less nuanced than what actually happened, we nevertheless believe that these new statements go too far. They no longer fall within the boundaries of what we can offer a stage.”

In explaining their decision, Poppodium 013 did note the reason they went ahead with the concert in the first place, despite calls to cancel it following Bob Vylan’s controversial Glastonbury set.

Editor’s picks

“The venue expressed its understanding for the artist’s anger regarding the genocidal violence perpetrated by the State of Israel in Gaza, a situation that deserves our full attention, even though his words were not our own,” they said. “We still share that shock and outrage. Moreover, Bob Vylan clarified in his own statement that his earlier statement ‘death to the IDF’ was not an antisemitic slogan, but rather criticism of the Israeli army. 013 wanted to send a message that Gaza deserves full attention and that outrage about it deserves a place on stage. We still stand by that.”

Trending Stories

Vylan partially addressed this latest controversy on Instagram, specifically rejecting media reports that characterized his comments about Kirk’s death as celebratory. “At no point during yesterday’s show was Charlie Kirk’s death celebrated,” he said. “At no point whatsoever did we celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death. I did call him a piece of shit, that much is true. But at no point was his death celebrated.”

He added: “What did happen is, one reporter that bought their ticket online, came with the sole purpose of finding something to report. And after I called him a piece of shit and played a song, they have written that up as a celebration. Not a celebration. Isn’t a celebration. Wasn’t a celebration. Calm down.”

Howard Stern's Show Canceled at SiriusXM, Andy Cohen Takes Over Channel

Howard Stern’s Show Canceled at SiriusXM, Andy Cohen Takes Over Channel

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Howard Stern‘s run on SiriusXM has come to an end after 20 years.

Last month, amid a spate of rumors and speculation that Stern’s SiriusXM deal was not being renewed, Stern gleefully turned the chatter into a tune-in promo. His show told listeners he would address the topic on the Sept. 2 episode of “The Howard Stern Show”; however, last week, he postponed the reveal until Sept. 8 — indicating that a deal was not yet done.

On Monday morning, on Stern’s Channel 100 on SiriusXM, it wasn’t Stern who came on the air — it was Andy Cohen who introduced himself and said that the channel going forward will now be known as “Andy 100.”

“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen said. “This was supposed to be a cleaner hand off — I’m kind of winging it,” he continued, saying that it has been a “surreal morning here.”

Added Cohen, “I can’t possibly fill his void” and said he was confident Stern would land on another platform soon.

Stern, who is 71, first signed with satellite radio broadcaster Sirius in 2004 (prior to its merger with XM), in part to be free of oversight by the FCC, which had levied millions of dollars in fines on terrestrial radio stations that carried his show for alleged indecency. “The Howard Stern Show” debuted on Sirius in January 2006. His most recent five-year renewal with SiriusXM was inked in 2020.

Last week, SiriusXM execs acknowledged that talks with Stern were ongoing but that they hoped to ink a new deal. “I think he’s been core to our platform for over 20 years, so I’m confident we’ll get to the right place,” SiriusXM CEO Jennifer Witz said Sept. 3 at an investment conference.

Stern’s original deal with Sirius was worth $500 million over five years including stock. His more recent renewals “topped out at roughly $80 million to $100 million,” according to Bloomberg. Regarding a Bloomberg report in 2020 that Stern was nearing a deal with SiriusXM worth $120 million annually, Stern said on his show at the time that he and his agent were “kind of baffled by it.”

Over the years, the notoriously ribald Stern has interviewed hundreds of actors, comedians, music artists, athletes, politicians and more on his show. At his side for most of his career have been co-host Robin Quivers, write Fred Norris and producer Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate.

Lady Gaga Miami Concert Canceled on Mayhem Ball Tour

by jummy84 September 4, 2025
written by jummy84

Lady Gaga announced late Wednesday (Sept. 3) that she had to postpone her Mayhem Ball Tour stop in Miami after fans had already packed Kaseya Center for the show.

She revealed that her voice was strained during rehearsals on Tuesday night and that it hadn’t improved during her warm-up ahead of Wednesday night’s show.

“Hi everyone I am really so so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami,” Gaga wrote in an all-caps message posted to her Instagram Stories. “During rehearsal last night and my vocal warmup tonight my voice was extremely strained and both my [doctor] and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses.”

In her message, Gaga expressed just how “agonizing” the decision was for her to make, but she couldn’t ignore the potential for long-term damage to her voice.

“I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you but I don’t want to risk long term or permanent damage on my vocal cords,” Gaga wrote. “There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours and as you know I sing live every night –and even though this was a hard and agonizing decision I would be more afraid of the long term implications on my voice. I hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any disappointment, let down, inconvenience. I am so so sorry. I tried so hard to avoid this. I take serious care of myself to be able to put on this highly demanding show. I love my fans so much, respect you and hope you can accept my sincere regretful apology.”

To end the message, Gaga assured fans: “We are trying to reschedule the show as quickly as possible.”

Videos on social media showed fans pouring out of Miami’s Kaseya Center after being informed of the last-minute postponement.

Gaga kicked off her Mayhem Ball Tour in Las Vegas in July and has U.S. dates scheduled through Sept. 18 in Chicago. Her international dates — with stops in Europe, Australia and Asia — go through Jan. 30.

Next up, Gaga is scheduled for two more dates at New York’s Madison Square Garden this weekend — on Saturday and Sunday — as well as a performance on Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Earlier Wednesday, Gaga dropped “The Dead Dance,” featured in the second season of Wednesday, along with a Tim Burton-directed music video and a deluxe edition of her most recent Mayhem album.

Was ‘The Howard Stern Show’ Canceled? What We Know So Far – Hollywood Life

Amid an evolving entertainment landscape, a new report surfaced in August 2025 claiming that “The Howard Stern Show” will be canceled after almost two decades. Host Howard Stern, who has led the show with SiriusXM, has a multi-million-dollar contract set to expire later this year. So, is it true — is Howard’s show about to be canceled?

The rumors circulated on the heels of the shocking cancelation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which CBS (a Paramount Global company) defended as a “financial decision.” The decision was considered controversial, though, because the network had just settled its lawsuit with Donald Trump.

Below, get updates on the status of “The Howard Stern Show.”

What Is Howard Stern’s SiriusXM Salary?

Stern’s salary from SiriusXM ranges between $80 million and $100 million per year, according to multiple outlets. His five-year contract extension with the company equates to around $500 million in total.

Stern currently boasts a net worth of $650 million, per Celebrity Net Worth.

Is Howard Stern Being Canceled by SiriusXM?

Howard’s contract with SiriusXM is about to expire at the end of 2025. He signed a five-year extension with the broadcasting company in December 2020.

“The Howard Stern Show” is expected to be canceled, according to The U.S. Sun. The outlet reported on August 5, 2025, that SiriusXM is “planning to make [Stern] an offer, [and] they don’t intend for him to take it.”

“Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want,” an insider told the outlet, adding that the radio show is “no longer worth the investment.”

The source further alleged that there’s “no way” SiriusXM “can keep paying [Stern’s] salary,” even pointing to Stephen Colbert‘s show’s cancelation.

“After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it’s like they just can’t afford to keep him going,” the insider added.

A separate source told the publication that Stern’s show’s cancelation has “everything to do with the political climate,” since the host is a critic of the Republican president.

Has Howard Stern or Sirius XM Commented on the Cancelation Rumors?

No, neither Stern nor anybody from SiriusXM has publicly commented on the new report. He’s delayed his return for another few days, though.
