San Jose’s Not So Silent Night Abruptly Canceled

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

This year was supposed to mark the return of Not So Silent Night, the once-annual modern rock event that went down in the Bay Area each winter holiday season from 1991 to 2019. But today Live 105, the radio station that’s hosted the big gig, announced that Not So Silent Night 2025 has been canceled. No further explanation was provided.

This year’s Not So Silent Night was scheduled for December 14, set to feature Sublime, Evanescence, Wet Leg, the Paradox, and Yellowcard. It would’ve also been the first Not So Silent Night since the broadcasting company Audacy relaunched Live 105 back in 2023; the popular alt-rock station endured a botched rebranding effort, including a pivot to adult hits, before Audacy brought it back to its usual alt-focused format.

“We know this is disappointing news, and we truly regret that we won’t be able to bring the show to you this year,” Live 105 wrote in their announcement.

The last week of October 2025 proved to be a difficult one for the entire Paramount Global team amid its merger with Skydance Media. Layoffs and shocking departures plagued the team, and after a report regarding Gayle King‘s future with CBS Mornings came out, a separate report surfaced about CBS Saturday Morning with co-hosts Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson, leaving viewers wondering if the show had been canceled.

Read on to find out what’s going on with CBS Saturday Morning.

Is CBS Saturday Morning Canceled?

No, CBS Saturday Morning has not been canceled by the network, but there will be changes to the staffing, The New York Post reported on October 29, 2025. According to the outlet, sources close to the matter claimed that CBS News’ new editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss, and the network’s president, Tom Cibrowski, determined that CBS Saturday Morning was “too expensive” and that Dana and Michelle would need to leave.

Where Will Michelle Miller & Dana Jacobson Go After CBS?

Since Michelle and Dana have yet to comment on their apparent departure from CBS Saturday Morning, it’s unclear where the co-hosts will go next. NYP reported that Michelle and Dana were informed that they would be released due to the network’s “radical revamp.”

Is Gayle King Leaving CBS Mornings?

No, Gayle is not planning on leaving CBS Mornings, despite a report from Variety citing multiple sources familiar with the situation that she would leave the network once her contract expires in 2026.

“I am here and glad to be here,” Gayle clarified to TMZ on October 31, 2025. “I don’t know what to tell you about it, but what I am hearing in the building is not what I’m reading in the press, and what I’m not going to do is negotiate in the media. … All I have been told by everybody in this building is that they want me here.”

Gayle added that, as far as she knows, CBS “likes the job [she is] doing” and continued, “I’ll say this: I like the job, and the people that I work with, so I don’t know what to tell you.”

After the report came out, a spokesperson for CBS News said that the network has had “no discussions” with Gayle regarding her contract.

“There have been no discussions with Gayle about her contract that runs through May 2026,” the spokesperson said. “She’s a truly valued part of CBS, and we look forward to engaging with her about the future.”

Why Was ‘Ridiculousness’ Canceled? The Reason MTV Pulled the Plug – Hollywood Life

Paramount Global’s merger with David Ellison‘s Skydance Media brought a major shakeup across all of Paramount’s subsidiaries. From shocking departures (i.e., Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan) to countless layoffs and cancellations (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), it’s clear that change is coming to CBS, MTV and more of Paramount’s companies. Most recently, MTV’s popular comedy clip show, Ridiculousness, hosted by Rob Dyrdek, was canceled by MTV. Now, the question is why the network could cancel a hit show after 46 seasons.

Below, Hollywood Life has compiled all the information we have so far about the ongoing developments at Paramount’s MTV and what’s happening with Ridiculousness.

Was Ridiculousness Actually Canceled?

Yes, MTV canceled Ridiculousness, according to TMZ. The outlet reported that staffers were told during the last week of October 2025 that season 46 would be its last. The announcement came from MTV’s top boss, per the outlet.

At the time of publication, no one from Ridiculousness, including Rob, has publicly addressed their show’s removal from MTV’s future lineup.

— Rob Dyrdek (@robdyrdek) May 6, 2024

Why Was Ridculousness Canceled?

Ridiculousness was axed because Paramount is seeking to “reimagine MTV” and will explore “fresh formats, different creative voices, and refreshed programming,” according to TMZ.

The shocking cancellation came right on the heels of MTV’s parent company Paramount Media Networks’ merger with Skydance Media. The business move has resulted in at least 1,000 layoffs in October 2025, and according to additional reports, more are on the horizon.

Where Can I Watch Ridiculousness Episodes?

Previous episodes of Ridiculousness will continue to air on MTV through 2026, and select seasons will still be available to stream on Paramount+.

How Much Did Rob Dyrdek Make Per Episode of Ridiculousness?

Rob was earning $21,000 per episode as an executive producer, Bloomberg reported shortly before the news of Ridiculousness‘ cancellation broke. Additionally, the outlet reported that MTV has been paying the former skateboarder a whopping $32.5 million annual salary in a 336-episode-per-year contract.

Moreover, Rob’s salary may have climbed to more than $45 million per year if the show was picked up for 2028 and 2029, per Bloomberg.

How Much Is Rob Dyrdek Worth?

Rob has an estimated net worth of $200 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Canceled Disney+ Shows From ‘Lizzie McGuire’ to ‘Goosebumps’ – Hollywood Life

It’s been quite a rocky time for entertainment — especially television shows. In 2025 alone, major companies including Paramount Global, NBCUniversal and The Walt Disney Company have canceled multiple TV shows. And with the latest news on Goosebumps, Disney+ fans are frustrated that the company has gutted a handful of their favorite series. Below, Hollywood Life has compiled a list of the most recent Disney+ canceled TV shows so far.

Lizzie McGuire Revival

This one really stung 1990s and 2000s kids. Back in 2019, production on a Lizzie McGuire revival had begun, with original cast members Hilary Duff, Adam Lamberg, Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas reprising their roles as well.

However, after two episodes were filmed, production went on hiatus in early 2020. At the end of the year, Hilary revealed the revival was no longer happening.

“I’ve been so honored to have the character of Lizzie in my life,” Hilary wrote in an Instagram announcement at the time. “She has made such a lasting impact on many, including myself. To see the fans’ loyalty and love for her, to this day, means so much to me. I know the efforts and conversations have been everything trying to make a reboot work, but sadly [and] despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen. I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It’s what the character deserves. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. I’m very sad, but I promise everyone tried their best and the stars just didn’t align. Hey now, this is what 2020’s made of.”

Cast members and insiders have said that the Lizzie reboot was canceled due to the issues that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic and creative differences with Disney.

Goosebumps

Disney+ canceled Goosebumps after two seasons but producer Sony Pictures Television was planning to shop the show to other platforms, Variety reported. A reason behind its cancelation was not disclosed.

The Mysterious Benedict Society

Disney+ canceled The Mysteries Benedict Society in 2023 as part of a cost-cutting initiative because the streamer had lost millions of subscribers at the time, per Deadline.

National Treasure: Edge of History

No clear reason was given for the 2023 cancelation of National Treasure: Edge of History, but with the decrease in subscribers that Disney+ had at the time, viewership was likely impacted.

Big Shot

Similar to The Mysterious Benedict Society, Big Shot was also taken off Disney+ due to the company’s cost-cutting plan after losing millions of subscribers during the first few months of 2023.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

Like several other short-lived Disney+ shows, The Might Ducks: Game Changers was taken off the platform in 2023 while The Walt Disney Company attempted to cut costs.

Was ‘Outer Banks’ Canceled? Why Season 5 Is OBX’s Last – Hollywood Life

“P4L” apparently doesn’t mean forever. Outer Banks fans were heartbroken when Rudy Pankow‘s character, JJ, died at the end of season 4. Now that season 5 was declared to be show’s last, speculation arose about how long the series was supposed to go. So, was OBX canceled after season 5?

For the diehard Pogues, Hollywood Life has rounded up everything you need to know about season 5 of OBX and why it will be the last one.

Did Rudy Pankow Quit ‘Outer Banks’?

Was 'Outer Banks' Canceled? Why 'OBX' Season 5 Is the Last
Cr. Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix © 2024

No, Rudy did not leave Outer Banks. While speaking with Netflix about his character’s demise, Rudy pointed to JJ’s selflessness, which helped the actor come to terms with his death.

“When I first found out JJ was gonna risk it all and not make it, I understood it,” Rudy told Netflix after season 4 part 2 aired in November 2024. “And the risks got bigger and bigger, and the stakes got higher and higher.”

Per Netflix, JJ’s death was always planned by series creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke. Josh told the outlet that although “it was a really hard decision” to kill off JJ, his death “sets the stage for an epic fifth and final season.”

“We’re planning a story of redemption, and a season that embodies the friendship that JJ had come to represent,” Josh added. “JJ’s death was a hard but necessary piece of the architecture for the story, and we plan on honoring that as much as we can because we love the character as much as the fans do. And Rudy’s a great friend of ours.”

Why Is ‘OBX’ Season 5 the Last One?

Josh, Jonas and Shannon penned a heartfelt letter to OBX fans, which revealed that they had always anticipated a five season-long show.

“Seven years ago, in the summer of 2017, we came across a photo of teenagers on a beach at dusk during a power outage,” the series creators wrote. “That photo sparked an idea for a story of four best friends who only want to have a good time all the time. From this beginning, we imagined a mystery that would lead to a five-season journey of adventure, treasure hunting, and friendship.”

At the end of their note — which was addressed to the Pogues — Josh, Jonas and Shannon wrote, “Now, with a little sadness but also excitement, we’re putting season 4 behind us and are turning to season five, in which we hope to bring our beloved Pogues home in the way we imagined and planned five years ago.”

‘Outer Banks’ Season 5 Cast List

Madelyn Cline, Chase Stokes, Carlacia Grant, Jonathan Davies, Madison Bailey, Drew Starkey and Austin North are all in season 5.

It’s still unclear if Rudy will come back for the fifth season, but fans are holding onto the hope that they could see him in flashback scenes. While speaking with Netflix, Rudy formally bid his castmates and crew of OBX farewell, which could be an indication that he is not returning for season 5.

“I want to leave the cast and crew with the biggest ‘thank you,’” Rudy said. “It’s been such a pleasure to come to work. This is by far the biggest thing I’ve ever done in [my] experience, and to have this as my start is a start of a lifetime. I’m going to miss it. Thank you for so many fun memories I’ll have the rest of my life. … To all the fans that show so much support and love for JJ, I just want to say thank you. It really did make an impact on me, playing him. It’s been an honor to bring him to life for you guys, and it’s been a joy to play him. And P4L!”

Disturbed’s Belgium Concert Reportedly Canceled Due to Safety Concerns

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Disturbed’s upcoming concert in Brussels, Belgium has reportedly been canceled due to safety concerns stemming from singer David Draiman’s support of Israel.

The heavy metal band, as well as Megadeth, were scheduled to perform at the Belgian city’s Forest National venue on Oct. 15. However, the mayor of the municipality where the concert was to take place told the Brussels Times that he ordered the show to be canceled, citing “security risks.”

“My responsibility and priority are the safety of residents, neighbors, demonstrators, spectators and staff at Forest National,” Charles Spapens, the mayor of Forest, told the newspaper. “Given the police’s negative advice and the venue’s unique location, it was my duty to make this decision.”

Months earlier, Spapens lobbied for the gig’s cancellation, noting the controversial photo of Draiman signing an IDF bomb with “Fuck Hamas” during a visit to Israel. “This is about a man who signed a bomb that was dropped on Gaza. We do not support the presence of this artist, and even less so his position on Gaza,” Spapens said, calling the concert “a moral problem.”

Trending Stories

Coupled with the “c,” the concert was also scheduled to take place one day after a national strike and other demonstrations, including a prison staff strike in Brussels on Oct. 14, further causing the mayor and local authorities to reassess the Disturbed show, NME reports.

Despite Spapens’ declaration that the Disturbed concert is canceled, tickets for the gig are still listed on Live Nation, as well as still included on the band’s tour website. Disturbed have not yet commented on the Brussels show’s status. The group performed Friday night in Krakow, Poland, and is next set to play Paris, France on Sunday.

‘Butterfly,’ ‘Countdown’ Canceled by Prime Video

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Prime Video has canceled a pair of first-year series, Butterfly and Countdown.

The Amazon MGM Studios series had summer debuts and each spent a short time on Nielsen’s top 10 U.S. streaming charts, but neither will return for a second run. The cancellation of Butterfly, starring Daniel Dae Kim, comes about two months after it premiered as a binge release. Countdown, led by Jensen Ackles, premiered in June and had a longer rollout, wrapping its 13-episode season in early September.

Butterfly, based on a graphic novel by Arash Amel and Marguerite Bennett, is a spy thriller that stars Kim as a former U.S. intelligence agent who comes out of hiding in South Korea to help his daughter (Reina Hardesty), who’s also a spy. The show spent two weeks on the Nielsen streaming charts following its Aug. 13 premiere.

Countdown, from Chicago Fire co-creator Derek Haas, stars Ackles as an LAPD detective who’s brought into a task force involving several agencies that’s working against time to stop a potentially devastating conspiracy. Jessica Camacho, Eric Dane, Violett Beane, Uli Latukefu and Elliot Knight also star.

Like Butterfly, Countdown had a two-week run on the Nielsen streaming charts shortly after its premiere. It didn’t keep up that momentum as the season continued, however.

Kim (via his 3AD company) and Ackles (through his Chaos Machine banner) both have first-look deals at Amazon MGM Studios. Ackles stars in the forthcoming Vought Rising, a prequel to The Boys.

Deadline first reported the cancellations.

Post-Civil War Assassin's Creed Game Was Canceled for Being "Too Political": Report

Post-Civil War Assassin’s Creed Game Was Canceled for Being “Too Political”: Report

by jummy84 October 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Following reports last July that Ubisoft had canceled an upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, industry insider Stephen Totilo has revealed details of the shelved project.

According to his Game Files newsletter, the title was set in the post-Civil War Reconstruction era. It was reportedly scrapped due to concerns over the political climate in the United States and online backlash to a Black samurai protagonist in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The canceled project, which was in development at Ubisoft Quebec, would have reportedly featured a formerly enslaved Black man recruited by the Brotherhood of Assassins after moving West “to start a new life.” His return to the South would have involved a “fight for justice in a conflict that would, among other things, see him confront the emergence of the Ku Klux Klan.”

“Too political in a country too unstable, to make it short,” one of Totilo’s sources said of the decision.

The timing of this cancellation was well before Donald Trump’s election to a second term, but it may have occurred around the time of the first assassination attempt against the sitting US president.

Related Video

For context, when Ubisoft released a trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows in May 2024, some fans, conservative critics, and Elon Musk himself unfairly labeled the game as “woke.” The criticism centered around the character Yasuke, who was based on a real-life African slave brought to Japan by Jesuit missionaries.

Thomas Lockley, a professor and author of African Samurai: The True Story of Yasuke, pushed back against the criticism. “There’s no piece of paper that says Yasuke was a samurai,” he told The Japan Times. “But then there’s no piece of paper that says anybody else was a samurai.”

Despite the backlash, Shadows surpassed five million players by July 2025 — just three months after its release.

‘Mid-Century Modern’ Canceled at Hulu After One Season

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Hulu has canceled its comedy series Mid-Century Modern after a single season.

Co-creator Max Mutchnick wrote in an Instagram post Monday that the show is done: “Ten great episodes … Not enough. But we loved making every single one of them. We’re gonna miss our very special show. Thanks to everyone who watched.”

Mutchnick and David Kohan (Will & Grace) created the series, which centered on three gay men “of a certain age” (Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer and Nathan Lee Graham) who, after an unexpected death, decide to move in together in a house in Palm Springs. The late Linda Lavin, in one of her final roles, also starred as the mother of Lane’s character.

Hulu took Mid-Century Modern to series in August 2024, less than two months after ordering a pilot. The Disney-owned streamer released the season as a binge drop in late March. It received generally positive reviews from critics but didn’t break into the upper echelon of streaming series, never making Nielsen’s top 10 original streaming shows list.

The series earned four Emmy nominations, for director James Burrows and for production design, sound mixing for a half-hour series and picture editing for a multicamera comedy.

Disney’s 20th Television produced Mid-Century Modern. Creators Kohan and Mutchnick executive produced along with Ryan Murphy, Burrows, Lane and Bomer.

Fans React After NBA YoungBoy’s Chicago Tour Stop Is Canceled

by jummy84 September 28, 2025

NBA YoungBoy has been killing shows back-to-back on his ‘Make Slime Great Again’ tour. He’s been moving city to city without missing a beat until his stop in Chicago. After the United Center canceled his scheduled show, fans were left upset and debating online.

The United Center Cancels NBA YoungBoy’s Chicago Show

On Monday, the United Center left many NBA YoungBoy fans distraught after canceling his Chicago stop at the last minute. In their statement, they announced: “The United Center has made the decision to cancel the NBA YoungBoy show scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, in Chicago. If you purchased through Ticketmaster, refunds will be issued automatically. If you purchased from a third-party reseller, please reach out to your point of purchase.”

Fans immediately questioned the decision, debating whether the cancellation came from the venue or from YoungBoy himself. Speaking on behalf of her son, Mama Sherhonda addressed the situation in an Instagram video. She reassured fans that NBA YoungBoy loves Chicago and was excited to “hit his dancey dancey” with them. Sherhonda explained the cancellation was beyond his control, saying the United Center made the call for safety reasons.

If y’all recall, NBA YoungBoy has had two major public beefs with iconic Chicago rappers Lil Durk and the late King Von. Their feud spilled heavily into music, with diss tracks traded back and forth. Because of this history, there was seemingly a general unease about YoungBoy performing in Chicago and the possibility of reignited feuds.

Social Media Reacts

Many of the rapper’s fans gathered online to share reactions after learning the Chicago show had been canceled. Some agreed that, given NBA YoungBoy’s past beef with Chicago artists, canceling the show was probably the best decision. Others argued the venue should not have booked him at all, saying it wasted fans’ time and raised false expectations.

Instagram user wrote @therealerien_ wrote, “That wasn’t rejection that was protection. God is good.”

@rikamissvip added, “I get he has fans there as well, but honestly it’s best for EVERYONE’s safety!”

While @precioussuniquee wrote, “Oh basically he got the city clutching they pearls 😂😂😂”

@shibutaggresive2 wrote, “It had every thing involving him he knows damn well he can’t come to Chicago after dissing Durk and Von … They cancelled the show to protect your SON Lady are you serious”

@ms.colebaby added, “It’s sad this new generation of niggas be out here beefing over stupid shit.. it’s not fair to his fans.”

@niyalanaeeee wrote, “it’s ok yall can come to the louisiana show we gone show yall how to rock out 🤣”

@simply_ashanti3 wrote,”This decision might’ve save a lot of lives and protected a lot of people”

@cravee.slim added, “But knowing who he is they shouldn’t have booked him there in the first place and then cancel last minute. Got his real fans all mad, that’s messed up tbh”

While @richgal.yanna wrote, “People saying they said they didn’t want him to perform that song 😂 he should’ve been like NWA”

King Von’s Sister Kayla B Speaks Out

Following the cancellation, Kayla B took to TikTok with the caption “RIP Von Free Durk.” She explained she was waiting for NBA YoungBoy’s show to be canceled, noting how difficult it is for Chicago artists to perform.

“When it’s one of our guys in Chicago, they cancel it. Durk had to start pushing peace just to perform again. At the end of the day, people wanted to come here being funny like, ‘I’m in your city, aha. But look now, ahaha, you can’t even do your show.’”
