Trump Advisor Says ICE Agents Will Be at Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Show

by jummy84 October 2, 2025
written by jummy84

As Bad Bunny is poised to make history as the first Super Bowl halftime artist to perform solely in Spanish, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski warned that ICE agents will be present at the national event.

During an interview for Benny Johnson’s series “The Benny Show,” the host asked Lewandowski if “ICE will have enforcement at the Super Bowl for the Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime.” Lewandowski replied, “There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else.”

“We will find you, we will apprehend you, we will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you,” he continued. “So know that is a very real situation under this administration, which is completely contrary to how it used to be.”

Lewandowski called the decision to choose Bunny as the halftime performer “shameful” and accused him of seeming to “hate America,” before pointing to other “great bands and entertainment people who could be playing at that show” instead.

“If there are illegal aliens, I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else, we’re going to do enforcement everywhere because we are going to make Americans safe,” said Lewandowski. “That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, do yourself a favor: Go home.”

Bunny has established himself as one of the most mainstream and popular artists both in the country and globally. The Grammy winner was the most streamed artist on Spotify for three years from 2020 to 2022, has the most-streamed album in the history of Spotify (Un Verano Sin Ti), and saw multiple tracks from his latest album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, reach Number One this year on the Billboard Hot 100, Apple Music, and Spotify. And on Sunday DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS became the first album of 2025 to surpass 7 billion streams on Spotify.

Prior to his announcement as the performer of the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, Bunny explained why he left the continental United States off his upcoming Debí Tirar Más Fotos world tour, saying the decision was tied to the Trump administration’s recent mass deportations targeting Latinos.

“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times,” Bunny said. “All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent.”

Trending Stories

The singer continued, “But there was the issue of — like, fucking ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Unsurprisingly, the announcement that Bunny, a vocal critic of President Trump’s political agenda, will play the Super Bowl ignited outrage from the MAGA base. However, whether conservatives agree or not, Bunny continues to be one the most popular artists in the world and his performance on the nation’s biggest stage will no doubt further cement his record-breaking legacy.

Bad Bunny Returns in Season 51 Premiere Promo

The trailer for the musician’s upcoming hosting gig, which will feature musical guest Doja Cat, introduces new cast member Veronika Slowikowska and features returning favorites

30 Rock isn’t Bad Bunny‘s house, but he knows his way around. In the latest trailer for Saturday Night Live‘s Season 51 premiere, the returning host gets a little too comfortable with the cast he worked with during his other appearances on the show and introduces new members to his chaos.

Bad Bunny last hosted SNL in October 2023, but returned earlier this year as musical guest and appeared in a few sketches for the hell of it — so you can’t blame him for feeling at home there. In the promo clip, he borrows Jane Wickline’s toothbrush (don’t worry, he let her know after he used it!) and volunteers newcomer Veronika Slowikowska’s apartment as a place for his friend to crash along with his baby and dog (they all bite, by the way).

During his first hosting gig, Bad Bunny bit back at criticisms that he wouldn’t be able to host since English is his second language. “I don’t know if they know,” he responded, “but I do whatever I want.” He’ll bring this same sentiment to the upcoming Oct. 4 episode, which features musical guest Doja Cat.

Trending Stories

He’ll also carry it all the way to the Super Bowl. Earlier this week, Bad Bunny was revealed to be the Super Bowl LX halftime show headliner. The history-making artist will be the first to deliver a fully non-English performance on the historic stage. “I’m really excited for my friends, my family,” he told Apple Music following the announcement. “Puerto Rico, all the Latino people around the world. I’m excited about my culture. I’m excited about everything, not just for me.”

After Bad Bunny kicks off Season 51, SNL will pass the baton to host Amy Poehler with musical guest Role Model, followed by Sabrina Carpenter‘s double-duty takeover as both host and musical guest.

Bad Bunny Is Everything MAGA Hates & That’s The Point

And yet Bad Bunny is arguably the most overtly political artist booked for the halftime spot. Martínez Ocasio has consistently used his music to speak out on a range of political and social issues, particularly those affecting Puerto Rico and other marginalized communities. His 2018 hit “Estamos Bien” became an anthem of resilience in the wake of Hurricane María, subtly addressing the U.S. government’s neglect of Puerto Rico during the crisis. In 2019, he released “Afilando los Cuchillos” alongside Residente and iLe, a diss track aimed at then-Governor of Puerto Rico Ricardo Rosselló after the leak of offensive Telegram chats. The song quickly became the unofficial soundtrack of the mass protests that ousted Rosselló, and Bad Bunny even paused his European tour to join demonstrators in the streets of Viejo San Juan. In 2020, amid the George Floyd protests and the global rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, he released “Compositor del Año,” a spoken-word piece that condemned anti-Black police violence and U.S. racial hypocrisy, stating: “A Black man with a gun is a criminal, but if he’s white, it’s a hobby.”

Bad Bunny will bring his Latin trap and reggaeton swagger to the NFL’s biggest stage next year: The Grammy winner will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show in Northern California.

The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Sunday that Bad Bunny will lead the halftime festivities from Levi’s Stadium on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, California.

The Puerto Rican superstar’s selection comes amid another career-defining run: He’s fresh off a historic Puerto Rico residency this month that drew more than half a million fans and is leading all nominees at the Latin Grammys in November. He has become one of the world’s most streamed artists with albums such as “Un Verano Sin Ti,” an all-Spanish-language LP.

Bad Bunny will host “Saturday Night Live” on Oct. 4.

Bad Bunny Boards Super Bowl LX Halftime Show

by jummy84 September 30, 2025
written by jummy84

Bad Bunny will be the first Puerto Rican artist to headline Apple Music’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Ca. The news was revealed tonight (Sept. 28) following weeks of speculation about potential stars Taylor Swift and Adele.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” said the artist, who previously made a cameo during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s 2020 performance. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown. This is for my people, my culture and our history.”

The booking is notable in that Bunny has intentionally avoided performing in the United States in fear of the events being targeted by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids. His Debí Tirar Más Fotos world tour begins Dec. 5 in Costa Rica and will run through a July 17-18 finale in Milan. It follows a massively successful 31-show residency in Puerto Rico, which brought an estimated $200 million-plus to the local economy.

Bunny has previously announced shows on tap on Feb. 5-7 in Santiago, although it’s unclear if they will be impacted by his Super Bowl participation.

“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” said Roc Nation founder Jay-Z, whose company has selected the halftime show performer since 2019. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Kendrick Lamar headlined the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Past performers include Rihanna, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, the Weeknd, Usher and Lady Gaga.

Gloria Estefan On Bad Bunny Performing At Super Bowl & Why She Declined Joining Shakira & Jennifer Lopez

by jummy84 September 29, 2025
written by jummy84

Gloria Estefan shares her thoughts on Bad Bunny performing at Super Bowl LV during halftime.

The Latin music icon is no stranger to performing on the Super Bowl stage, having made two appearances during her career. During an appearance on The Sherri Shepherd Show, Estefan expressed her excitement over the Puerto Rican singer being announced as the performer for next year’s big NFL game.

“I’m so happy for him … I think it’s great,” she said. “I think we need Latino representation in this particular moment. The Latinos have burned up that show. I have done two of them.”

Estefan first performed in 1992, where she sang hits like “Live for Loving You” and “Get on Your Feet.” Athletes from the 1992 Winter Olympics joined her on the stage at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1999, Estefan returned to the Super Bowl, where she performed alongside Stevie Wonder, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, and Savion Glover.

During her appearance on the Shepherd’s syndicated talk show, Estefan revealed that Jay-Z (producer of the Super Bowl halftime show) asked her to perform in 2020 alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, but she declined.

“It would have been my third time,” she said. “First of all, they’re already dividing that time and it’s really quick. You’re in and out. And secondly, I was going to have to diet during Christmas. I did not. You know what? It’s their moment … I don’t want to push my luck. The two times went great.”

When Shepherd asked Estefan if she was to be asked by Bad Bunny to perform at next year’s Super Bowl, she said, “Again, it’s his moment. I think he’s killing it this year. for him it’s been phenomenal. I danced the day I saw him when he was singing in Spanish on SNL because that had never happened.”

Estefan suggested Karol G as a guest performer, given her resounding success. The Colombian singer recently performed during the NFL’s first international game of the season in São Paulo.

Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, the NFL has announced.

“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” the Puerto Rican-born musician said in a statement announcing the performance. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring,” added JAY-Z, whose company Roc Nation curates and co-produces the halftime show. “We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Although Bad Bunny is one of the biggest artist in the world, his booking comes somewhat out of left-field. Las Vegas oddsmakers had pegged Taylor Swift as the favorite to headline the event, with JAY-Z, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, Drake, and Post Malone among other popular rumors. The leading favorite among bands was Metallica, who openly campaigned for the gig in their hometown of San Francisco.

Bad Bunny had also been vocal about excluding the US from his upcoming world tour, citing concerns that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) might stage raids outside his concerts. Alluding to those past remarks while announcing his Super Bowl performance, he wrote on social media: “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States.”

Bad Bunny recent wrapped up a massive residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico, earlier this month, and will kick off his aforementioned “Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour” in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, beginning in November. This coming weekend, he’ll host the season 51 premiere of Saturday Night Live.

This is a developing story…

Bad Bunny has been announced as the headline performer for next year’s NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show – find out more below.

The news was announced today (September 29), just about five months ahead of the sporting mega event, which is due to take place on February 8 in San Francisco, California.

The announcement was made on Bad Bunny’s official social media pages, with the Puerto Rican rapper-singer sitting atop a goal post. Check out the announcement below.

The 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show was headlined by Kendrick Lamar, who made history as the first solo rapper to headline the coveted performance slot, and also shattered records to become the most-watched Halftime Show of all time.

Further details surrounding Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show, including guest performers, have yet to be announced.

In a statement regarding Bad Bunny’s performance, Jay-Z – who serves as the NFL’s music strategist via his label Roc Nation’s partnership with the league – said: “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Bad Bunny shared: “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

The Puerto Rican rapper-singer most recently concluded his historic Puerto Rico residency on September 20. The rapper’s ‘No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí’ residency kicked off on July 11 and was scheduled to end on September 14, but was later extended for one final show on September 20. The first nine dates of the residency were reserved exclusively for Puerto Rico residents, as was the final gig.

The final gig was live-streamed to fans across the globe on Amazon Music and Twitch channels worldwide, and was also be available to replay on the platform for 24 hours. The night saw the Puerto Rican artist bring out a host of special guests to see off the residency, including RaiNao, Dei V, Ñengo Flow, Arcángel, De La Ghetto, Jowell & Randy and salsa legend Marc Anthony. The latter teamed up with Bad Bunny for a heartfelt take on ‘Preciosa’.

Acts who were considered front-runners for the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show included Taylor Swift – who recently announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and has an open-invite to perform, per the NFL Commissioner – and hometown heroes Metallica, who have openly discussed their eagerness to perform.

Bad Bunny to Headline Super Bowl Halftime: Fans React

Bad Bunny will take the stage at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show next February — and fans are already losing it in anticipation. Minutes after the NFL announced the news Sunday night, Benito stans and football fans flooded the internet with excitement, praising the choice and celebrating the power of having a Latino on one of the world’s biggest stages during a political era that has targeted Latinos.

“Bad Bunny is the exact performer we need for the political climate in the United States right now,” wrote a fan on X (formerly Twitter). “He is going to be great. He will no doubt have a strong showcase and message.”

One fan pointed to the symbolism and inspiration behind Bad Bunny’s album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, on which the singer uplifted Puerto Rican sounds and specifically sang about the effects of American colonialism on tracks like “Lo Que Le PAsó a Hawái.”

“Bad Bunny speaking on colonialism + the displacement of Puerto Ricans rn,” wrote one fan. “With everything going on w ICE, this is bigger than a performance. it’s a statement.”

Another fan wrote: “BAD BUNNY IS SET TO MAKE HISTORY AS THE FIRST MALE LATIN ARTIST TO HEADLINE THE SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW.”

“LFG! The most unapologetic Hispanic artist right now on the biggest stage in this country. I am here for it!!!!” wrote a third.

Just minutes before he was announced as the official Super Bowl LX halftime show performer, Bad Bunny teased his performance, writing on X: “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States.”

The post was a reference to his decision not to take the Debí Tirar Más Fotos tour to the United States in part because of concerns that his concerts might be targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  “But there was the issue of — like, fucking ICE could be outside [my concert],” he told i-D. “And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Fans referred to Bad Bunny’s comments and emphasized the importance of seeing Latino representation on such a big stage.

“America land of the free… and Bad Bunny wants to represent, bring awareness and celebrate a culture that is attacked,” wrote another fan.

Many fans pointed to this choice for the halftime show upsetting MAGA Republicans after Bad Bunny endorsed Kamala Harris and has openly spoken against ICE and Trump.

“This is gonna piss off the magats. I’m living for this 👏 interesting choice on behalf of the nfl and I’m here for it!!” commented one fan on Rolling Stone‘s Instagram post.

“I already hear the maga 😂tears😂😂😂,” added another.

After being announced as the performer during the halftime of the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers game on Sunday, Bad Bunny shared a short video on Instagram, in which he sits on a goalpost on the beach while his song “Callaita” plays.

He Does Know Bad Ratings

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

As Jimmy Kimmel gets back into the swing of things, his regularly scheduled jokes about President Donald Trump have resumed.

On Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, following a major viewership boost for ABC, the comedian predicted Trump will “try to sue” the network after he posted about the episode “moments after we taped our show.”

“You know, a lot of people watched our show last night. I had so many texts from so many people,” he said in his opening monologue. “It made me realize how many of my friends are never watching the show at any other time. Tomorrow, I’ll hear from no one.”

Kimmel noted, “I did hear from one very special friend,” quoting “the mad red hatter” after Trump previously lashed out at ABC once again in response to Kimmel’s return. “I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,” Kimmel quoted the Truth Social post.

“You can’t believe they gave me my job back? I can’t believe they gave you your job back! We’re even,” he declared to applause.

As an audience member called out in support, Kimmel quipped, “Shut the fuck up. The freedom of speech is only for me. You do not interrupt the president.”

Kimmel went on to pick apart the post, particularly where Trump teased legal action. “Only Donald Trump would try to prove he wasn’t threatening ABC by threatening ABC. And you almost have to feel sorry for the people who work for him, who try to clean up the messes. They’ve been bending over backwards,” he said.

Calling out Trump’s claim that his ratings got him fired, Kimmel said, “Has anyone ever been fired for bad ratings on a Wednesday?”

“He does know bad ratings. He has some of the worst ratings any president has ever had. So, on behalf of all of us, welcome to the ‘Crappy Ratings Club’, Mr. President,” Kimmel continued. “Next, he’ll try to sue us. And I wanna say, good luck with that. Because we thought about it, we packed the courts. And we have a surprise ace up our sleeve, Mr. Judge Steve Harvey. Survey says, you lose.”

“Sadly, the truth is, no one wants to face Donald Trump in court. That’s where he’s his most flatulent,” added Kimmel.

Kimmel called Trump “an old-fashioned 80s movie style bully” as he made another point, “For those who think I go too hard Donald Trump, to the point where there are still a lot of people who think I should be pulled off the air for making Donald Trump. So, I want to explain, I talk about Trump more than anything because he’s a bully.”

Trump added in his latest Truth Social rant about Kimmel, “The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his ‘talent’ was never there. Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE. He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative,” added Trump. “A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings.”

Despite more ramblings about bad ratings, Jimmy Kimmel Live! returned to air Tuesday after his brief suspension, driving 6.26 million viewers. That’s without the 23% of U.S. households where affiliates Nexstar and Sinclair are still preempting the late-night talk show.

Kimmel’s return comes after ABC announced the show was “preempted indefinitely,” which many criticized as an attack on free speech, following the FCC’s warning about the late-night host’s Charlie Kirk comments.

Known for his ‘Prove Me Wrong’ debates and MAGA POV, Kirk was shot dead at Utah Valley University on September 10 in a tragedy that has sent shockwaves through the political and media worlds.

Having previously mocked Trump over POTUS’ take on the NFL and TikTok, Kimmel offered his blunt assessment of the aftermath of Kirk’s death in his opening monologue on his September 15 show: “”We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” he said.
