Bad Bunny is back on Saturday Night Live!
The three-time Grammy winner returned for his second time hosting on Saturday night, where he addressed some of the backlash surrounding him being named the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner.
Bad Bunny poked fun at conservative criticism of him being tapped to perform at the big game, noting that everyone is excited about his performance, “even Fox News!”
“You might not know this, but I’m doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show. And I’m very happy, and I think everybody’s happy about it,” which led the crowd to erupt in applause, before he continued, “Even Fox News!”
SNL then cut to a montaged clip of pieced together segments that made out Fox News hosts saying, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician and he should be the next president.”
“I’m really excited to be doing the Super Bowl, I know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy,” to which he then began speaking in Spanish.
“Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors,” he said in Spanish. “It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”
He finished his monologue off by noting in English, “And, if you didn’t understand know what I just said, you have four months to learn!”
Earlier in the monologue, a clip of Jon Hamm (who Bad Bunny called Juan Jamón) dancing to his music at a show was shown. The SNL cameras then panned over to Hamm in attendance at the show.
During the cold open, Colin Jost took the stage where he portrayed U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, where he joked that the military would adhere to the highest standards set by President Donald Trump.
“Our military will now have the same rules as any good frat party,” he said. “No fat chicks. And if you’re a fat dude, god damnit, you better be funny as hell.” James Austin Johnson’s Trump then made his return, where he said he was “just here keeping my eye on SNL, making sure they don’t say anything too mean about me.”
“SNL 51, off to a rough start. 17 new cast members, and they got the ‘Update’ guy doing the cold open. Look at Colin, poor Colin. We knew they wouldn’t let him do the whole open by himself,” he joked.
Johnson’s Trump, too, very briefly touched on the controversy surrounding the Riyadh Comedy Festival, noting he was “surprised Colin’s here, I thought he’d be with his friends at the Riyadh Comedy Festival.”
Johnson’s Trump further poked fun at the brief suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a reference to his “attack dog” Brendan Carr, with Mikey Day making an appearance in the cold open as the FCC chair.
After the news of Bad Bunny being named the headlining act was revealed, Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski said ICE will be in attendance at next year’s Super Bowl. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem further corroborated Lewandowski’s claims, assuring ICE agents would be “all over” the big game.
Before he was named the next Super Bowl headliner, Bad Bunny notably did not have any U.S. dates featured on his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour. He told i-D Magazine this was partly due to ICE concerns.
“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times. All of [the shows] have been successful,” Bad Bunny said. “But there was the issue of — like, fucking ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
Elsewhere in the season 51 premiere, EJAE, Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna, who voice characters in Netflix and Sony Animation’s hit movie KPop Demon Hunters, made a surprise appearance during a brunch-themed sketch. Their short cameo saw Bad Bunny’s character raving over the film, to which they then surprised the audience and gave their first-ever live performance of “Golden.”
Season 51 of SNL comes on the heels of a cast exodus this summer. Five cast members separated the show following its landmark 50th season, including Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow and Emil Wakim.
Other than Johnson’s Trump joking about season 51 featuring “17 new cast members” in the cold open, the cast shakeup was not further addressed.
Please Don’t Destroy sketches were also thrown out ahead of season 51, which formerly starred Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy. With the end of the bit, Higgins left SNL, while Marshall now joins as a featured player and Herlihy remains on the show’s staff as a writer. Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska were also added to the cast.
Bad Bunny hosted the season 51 premiere of SNL, while Doja Cat served as the night’s musical guest, in her first appearance on the sketch comedy series.
The full slate of host and musical guests for the rest of the season has not yet been revealed, though Amy Poehler is set to host on Oct. 11 with Role Model as musical guest. Sabrina Carpenter will pull double duty in both roles on Oct. 18.
Bad Bunny isn’t letting his critics get the best of him.
The “Baile Inolvidable” singer spoke out following criticism of his upcoming performance at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show during the season 51 premiere of Saturday Night Live Oct. 4, where he served as host.
“I’m very happy,” he said during his opening monologue, “and I think everyone is happy about it—even Fox News.”
The sketch comedy series then showed a clip montage featuring news coverage of the 31-year-old’s halftime slot, which was edited to say, “Bad Bunny is my favorite musician and he should be the next president.”
Bad Bunny went on to say that “people all around the world who love my music” were looking forward to the Feb. 8 performance, adding in Spanish, “Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors. It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it.”

HGTV’s Jenny Marrs Can’t Sleep, Addresses Grief After Heartbreaking Loss
Jenny Marrs shared a heartfelt post on social media on Wednesday (October 1), opening up about dealing with grief and the “deep heartache” she has been feeling in recent weeks.
The HGTV star recently lost her mother-in-law, Donna, the mother of her husband and Fixer to Fabulous co-star, Dave Marrs. Last month, both Jenny and Dave posted tributes, with Jenny writing on Instagram, “[Donna] taught me how to be the kind of mother-in-law and the kind of grandmother who I can’t even begin to imagine this earth without.”
On Wednesday, Jenny returned to Instagram to reveal she hasn’t “slept well the last two weeks,” admitting, “Grief seeps in at night most acutely, once I slow down from the day’s activity.”
“Each day is a disorienting experience – life continues to move forward as I am simply trying to reconcile my deep heartache with the sunshine out the window and the pressing demands on my time,” she added.
However, she has been finding solace in words from her own book, Trust God, Love People, which is scheduled for release on October 7.
“This morning, I was sorting through emails for next week’s book launch and happened across a handful of audio files from the audio book I recorded,” Jenny shared. “I opened this one from the “Lessons from the Farm” chapter and I felt my own words speak life to my heart… Maybe someone else needed them today too.”
In the accompanying audio clip, Jenny says, “Farm life can be both beautiful and brutal. That day was certainly one of the hardest days. While we’ve witnessed hundreds of joy-filled miracles here on this little patch of land, we’ve also experienced deep grief.”
It’s unclear from the clip which death Jenny is speaking about specifically, but the designer has been open in recent months about several devastating losses. Earlier this year, she revealed the passing of her beloved neighbor Bob, and then, four months later, they lost Bob’s wife, Jill.
In July, Jenny and Dave also posted about losing their long-time pet dog, Dolly, who had been in the family for over a decade.
Sharing her friend’s words of advice in the audio clip, Jenny said, “Being His means holding all of it, the miracles and the pain. And still raising our hands and saying, ‘I don’t understand this and I wanted a different ending to this chapter, but I can still trust that you are good… Despite the hard, God is always only good.”
Lisa had been rushed to the hospital after her ex-husband Danny Keough—dad to Riley Keogh and the late Benjamin Keough—found her unresponsive at her home due to a small bowel obstruction that developed after a bariatric surgery she’d had years prior.
“Lisa really wasn’t breathing, so she was on the ventilator,” she recalled. “For hours we were there waiting, hoping and praying until the doctor came in and said, ‘Priscilla, I’m so sorry, she’s gone.'”
“We just couldn’t believe it—didn’t want to believe it,” she added of her family, including Lisa Marie’s twins Harper Lockwood and Finwood Lockwood, 16, who she shares with ex Michael Lockwood. “It was hard on all of us, it still is.”

Jermaine Dupri doesn’t believe he fumbled ex-fianceé Janet Jackson, and claims to be unaware about what it means to fumble someone.
During a recent conversation with Hot 97’s Nessa, the So So Def founder was speaking on his notorious 2009 split from the songstress and admitted, “I don’t know what a fumble is, though. I be trying to figure out why y’all don’t say she fumbled me.”
The 52-year-old added, “I’m not something that you just let roll down the street. I don’t look at it like that. I look at it like it’s a relationship, and we were together for eight years.”
This isn’t the first instance of JD joking about fumbling Jackson. In June 2024, he posed a question about audience demographics as it relates to concert ticket sales. In response, one person tweeted, “Jermaine we not answering questions from anyone that fumbled Janet Jackson.”
Dupri quickly commented, “Whew whew you just said something !!”
In a Million Dollaz Worth of Game interview from March 2023, Dupri clarified this misconception that he had nothing to offer in their relationship. “What do you do for a woman that financially got it all,” one host asked.
To which JD replied, “The thing about our relationship which is so funny is like when n***as speak about her, they don’t speak about me. I’m a n***a that got it all too […] I ain’t have what she got. I might not have as much as she got, but I got my s**t and I ain’t gotta ask you for nothing.”

Jackson opened up about their relationship in her 2022 eponymous documentary. She wanted to marry him and start a family, but he was allegedly cheating on her. In the four-part series, Dupri confessed to being “reckless” for not properly managing the newfound attention he got from dating Jackson.
“Girls wanted to talk to me more because I was dating her, which was really weird and I was a man,” he stated. Ultimately, their breakup was seemingly caused by the absence of emotional availability.
Ariana Grande has released a statement to fans regarding concert ticket resellers after the North American dates of her 2026 Eternal Sunshine Tour went on sale, and quickly sold out, earlier this week on Ticketmaster. The singer posted an Instagram Story addressing the situation on Saturday (Sept. 13).
“hi my angels, i have been on set all week but i wanted to let you know that what’s been happening with the secondary ticket resellers has been brought to my attention and of course i am incredibly bothered by it,” Grande wrote in her message.
She continued, “i’ve been on the phone every second of my free time fighting for a solution. i hear you and hopefully, we will be able to get more of these tickets into your hands instead of theirs. it’s not right.”
“i just wanted you to know that my team and i see it and that i care very much and we will do, and are doing, everything we can. i love you so much and thank you for your patience and understanding,” Grande said.
The Eternal Sunshine Tour, with 36 dates scheduled for summer 2026 in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, begins on June 6, 2026 in Oakland, Calif. It runs through Aug. 6, wrapping in London, England. Grande, touring in support of her seventh studio album — the Billboard 200 chart topper Eternal Sunshine — announced initial dates in late August and added to the itinerary in September.
Stephen Colbert condemned the shooting of Charlie Kirk on Wednesday night’s episode of “The Late Show.” His statement came in a pre-taped segment that aired before the opening credits ran as normal.
“Good evening, everybody,” a solemn Colbert said. “After our scripts for tonight’s show were finished, we learned that Charlie Kirk, a prominent right-wing activist, was killed at a speaking engagement in Utah. Our condolences go out to his family and all of his loved ones. I am old enough to personally remember the political violence of the 1960s, and I hope it is obvious to everyone in America that political violence does not solve any of our political differences. Political violence only leads to more political violence. And I pray with all my heart that this is the aberrant action of a madman and not a sign of things to come. And now, ladies and gentlemen, the show that we had prepared for you.”
Kirk died on Wednesday after he was shot at a college event in Utah. He was 31.
Colbert isn’t the only late-night host to speak out against Kirk’s shooting. Jimmy Kimmel took to Instagram to demand an end to “the angry finger pointing” in the wake of the incident.
“Can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?” Kimmel wrote. “On behalf of my family, we send love to the Kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”
Donald Trump announced Kirk’s death on Truth Social on Wednesday afternoon. In his post, he wrote, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
