EXCLUSIVE: Dolly Singh Reveals NOT Getting Acting Opportunities After Bhumi Pednekar’s Thank You For Coming

by jummy84 September 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Dolly Singh made her acting debut with Thank You For Coming, starring Bhumi Pednekar, Kusha Kapila, Shibani Bedi and others. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the YouTuber revealed she was once rejected for a role due to her teeth. Dolly confessed that getting acting opportunities for her has not been easy because people judge her as a content creator. Scroll down to read what she said and watch the full interview.

Dolly Singh On Facing Rejections Due To Body, Colour

When asked if she faced rejection due to her body, colour or appearance, Dolly Singh replied, “I think the thing is now obviously everybody is placed a little safe. So koi tumhare muh pe nahi shayad wo aake mujhe nahi batayenge ki ‘Are tum zyada patli ho toh hum tumhe nahi le sakte’. Mujhe lagta hai ki bhi, theek hai, I also feel that off course for a particular role, there’s a particular visual, you know, that the writer, director, are thinking of. So I get it sometimes, you just don’t fit.”

She revealed how once a director said her teeth needed to be fixed. The YouTuber revealed, “But ek baar, ek director ne ek baar mujhe bola tha ki ‘Yaar, ye daant thode, theek kara lo’. Toh yeh main sure hoon, yeh toh unhone mere munh pe us din bol diya. But main sure hoon, jahan main nahi hoon, un rooms mein toh hota hoga na, not just for me, main sure hoon, for everybody, ki ‘Yaar, ye thoda zyada mota hai’ ya ‘Yeh thoda zyada patli hai’. Isko nahi le sakte. Toh jo main feel karta hoon, har baar zaroori nahi hai ki wo cheez chale. Kyunki kuch roles mein woh factor matter nahi karta hai, as long as a person can pull off the character. I think that should be in fact.”

Dolly Singh Reveals Not Getting Work After Thank You For Coming

Dolly continued, “With content creation and acting, it’s a double-edged sword, ki humein roles mil toh jaate hain, par wahi do minute ke roles milenge, jisme aapko wahi karna hoga jo aap normally apne Instagram pe karte ho, the same character. Aur phir aapko promotion ke liye bulaya jaayega, aur phir aapki following ko push kara jaayega. They will say ki ‘Aao, promote karo film ko.’ Toh ek thoda used bhi feel hota hai. Aur yeh bhi lagta hai ki ‘Yaar, theek hai, ismein mujhe maza aaya.’ Par ab mujhe kuch bada bhi karna hai na, acting mein, mujhe aur cheezein explore karni hain. Par woh exploration karne ko nahi milta hai.”

She added, “Toh, Thank You For Coming, ke baad bhi mujhe koi aisi khaas, aise meri life nahi badli, aur woh nahi hua ki ‘Are bahut auditions aa rahe hain’ ya ‘Bahut opportunities aa rahi hain’. Nahi, aisa kuch nahi hai. Because wahi hai ki influencers ka ek stereotype alag ban gaya hai, ki ye yahi kar sakta hai.”

Sanjay Dutt Once Boasted, “I Would Have Broken Trishala’s Legs” Talking About Her Daughter’s ‘Acting Ka Bhoot’ & Career Choice!

by jummy84 September 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Sanjay Dutt Once Talked About Daughter Trishala’s Choice Of Profession (Photo Credit – Instagram)

There are generally two types of parents – one the protective ones and the other – the over-protective ones. The latter one seems to be built in Sanjay Dutt‘s behavioral pattern since he made sure that his daughter Trishala Dutt does not choose what she wants as her career choice.

For the unversed, Trishala, who lives abroad and is a Forensic Scientist, once wanted to be an actress. But clearly, her father, Sanjay, did not approve of this career choice. In fact, in many of his interviews, he talked about his daughter’s career choice and dismissed it outright.

What Did Sanjay Dutt Say About His Daughter’s Desire To Take Up Acting?

During one of his conversations with the media in 2017, the actor talked about his on-screen daughter Aditi Rao Hydari in Bhoomi and compared her to off-screen daughter Trishala and said, “I would have broken her Trishala’s legs if she would have chosen acting, but with Aditi, I’m not doing so.”

In yet another interview with Filmfare in 2013, the Munna Bhai MBBS actor told the publication, “I’m glad uske sar se acting ka bhoot utar gaya. She has given up on her acting ambitions, at least for now. She’s such an intelligent girl who’s done Forensic Science. So, I could never understand why she wanted to give it all up and become an actress.”

“Aur is industry mein actor banne ke liye (to be in this industry), you need to know the language. So, language would’ve been the biggest barrier for her. God only knows where she got this idea from, but ab nahin hai. I hope she joins the FBI soon and makes me proud. Her education should be of some use,” he added.

The actor even crossed the line a bit and said, “Trishala is a forensic scientist, full stop. She has such a good job. Why would I want her to come here and shake her as*?”

Well, may be Sanjay Dutt was over-protective about his daughter joining the industry since he knows this industry and its dark side way too well. Ain’t all parents the same when it comes to protecting their kids from the worst of the experiences?

What Next For Sanjay Dutt?

Following his recent appearance in The Bhootnii and Housefull 5, Dutt starred in Baaghi 4, playing the antagonist Chacko. He also has a major line-up ahead. The actor will star in KD: The Devil next followed by Dhurandhar and The Raja Saab. He is also reported to appear in Akhanda 2, Sheram Di Kaum Punjab and Baap.

Huma Qureshi Engaged To Acting Coach Rachit Singh?

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Huma Qureshi seems to be in a beautiful phase of her life, both professionally and personally. While her film Bayaan recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025 to much appreciation, reports suggest that the actress is also engaged to her long-time rumoured boyfriend, acting coach Rachit Singh.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, a source close to the couple confirmed that Huma and Rachit have taken the next step in their relationship. The buzz about the two first caught on when their mutual friend, singer Akasa, shared a candid picture with them and wrote, “Congratulations on your little piece of heaven with the best name, Huma. Had the best night.”

Who is Rachit Singh?

Rachit Singh is a well-known acting coach who has worked with some of Bollywood’s biggest names, including Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma, and Saif Ali Khan. He recently appeared on screen as Vedant in Raveena Tandon and Varun Sood’s web series Karmma Calling. Over the past year, Rachit has also been spotted at several gatherings with Huma and her brother Saqib Saleem, further fuelling speculation about their bond.

Huma Qureshi

While neither Huma nor Rachit have publicly confirmed the engagement, the actress seems to be riding a wave of success. She was last seen in Tarla, where she brought to life the inspiring story of chef Tarla Dalal. Next, she will be seen in Jolly LLB 3, sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, followed by Pooja Meri Jaan with Mrunal Thakur.
Her production venture Bayaan, co-created with brother Saqib Saleem, earned a prestigious world premiere at TIFF on September 6. Speaking about the milestone, Huma recently shared that the experience has been “humbling” and has given her a deeper appreciation for storytelling. With professional achievements and whispers of an engagement, it looks like 2025 is turning into a landmark year for Huma Qureshi.

Daniel Day-Lewis “Never Intended” Retirement from Acting

by jummy84 September 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Daniel Day-Lewis didn’t abandon his fans! That’s right, cinephiles, the elusive actor told Rolling Stone in a new interview that, despite earlier comments (and a genuine break from public life), he never actually intended to retire from acting. Guess he’s not so finished after all?

The about-face came as Day-Lewis and his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, are currently promoting their upcoming film, Anemone. The thriller is both the younger Day-Lewis’ feature-length directorial debut and the Oscar winner’s first film since 2017’s excellent Phantom Thread.

“Looking back on it now — I would have done well to just keep my mouth shut, for sure,” said Daniel Day-Lewis. “It just seems like such grandiose gibberish to talk about. I never intended to retire, really. I just stopped doing that particular type of work so I could do some other work. I never, you know… Apparently, I’ve been accused of retiring twice now. I never meant to retire from anything! I just wanted to work on something else for a while.”

The man who played the greatest Abraham Lincoln ever went on to say that the decision to break from acting was likely a result of his being rather stubborn.

“I have a lot of pride, and I thought, ‘If I draw a line under this, I’ll be too proud to go back on that. Because I know there’ll come a day when I’ll be tempted again. But if I’ve said I’m not doing this, I won’t do it,’” said Daniel Day-Lewis. “This just shows I’m not as proud as I like to think I am! I don’t know if any of that makes sense, David, but I do feel it’s important to restate that the love of the work itself, that has never diminished for me.”

Rolling Stone’s David Fear delved a little deeper into the subject, referencing another interview together from the early 2000s where Daniel Day-Lewis said that a question regarding his work-life balance “suggests that there is no connection between the two.” This time around, Daniel Day-Lewis explained that as he gets older, his creative work simply requires more effort and personal resources.

“As I get older, it just takes me longer and longer to find my way back to the place where the furnace is burning again. But working with Ro, that furnace just lit up,” he said. “And it was, from beginning to end, just pure joy to spend that time together with him.” Moments later, he added, “I wish you’d been around to speak on my behalf during these times and just bring that quote up then.”

When the actor announced his retirement in 2017, it sent shockwaves across Hollywood. The actor seemed to be at or near his creative peak, and Phantom Thread earned Daniel Day-Lewis a nomination for Best Actor at the 90th Academy Awards. (The film was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, and Best Original Score.) Complicating matters was the abrupt, semi-frigid nature of the announcement.

“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor,” read a statement from his spokesperson. “He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”

So, then, what exactly brought Daniel Day-Lewis back into the spotlight? As already mentioned, you can thank his son and collaborator. (The Day-Lewis men also co-wrote the Anemone script together.)

“I had some residual sadness because I knew Ronan was going to go on to make films, and I was walking away from that,” said Daniel Day-Lewis. “I thought, wouldn’t it be lovely if we could do something together and find a way of maybe containing it, so that it didn’t necessarily have to be something that required all the paraphernalia of a big production.”

While he said he had “certain reservations about being back in the public world again,” ultimately, Ronan Day-Lewis “made it pretty clear that he wasn’t going to do it if I didn’t do it.” The things we do for our kids, amirite?

“It was just kind of a low-level fear, [an] anxiety about re-engaging with the business of filmmaking,” said Daniel Day-Lewis. “The work was always something I loved. I never, ever stopped loving the work. But there were aspects of the way of life that went with it that I’d never come to terms with — from the day I started out to today.”

He added that despite his years of acting experience, this “recovery” process still takes its toll.

“There’s something about that process that left me feeling hollowed out at the end of it,” said Daniel Day-Lewis. “I mean, I was well acquainted with it. I understood that it was all part of the process, and that there would be a regeneration eventually. And it was only really in the last experience [Phantom Thread] that I began to feel quite strongly that maybe there wouldn’t be that regeneration anymore. That I just probably should just keep away from it, because I didn’t have anything else to offer.”

Sure, you could get upset at the irksome nature of elite creatives getting to play career ping-pong. (Especially since most of us schlubs don’t have that choice.) Similarly, you could be mad that it was the scourge of nepotism that finally got him off the couch. But at the end of the day, one of the finest actors ever to live is back doing what he does best, so that’s worthy of celebration.

As the writer already hinted at, it’s not the first time Day-Lewis has “retired.” As Variety noted, he left acting in 1997 to “become a shoemaker in Italy” following The Boxer. He only returned in 2002 with a little film called Gangs of New York. (Daniel Day-Lewis’ 2017-2025 hiatus mostly remains a mystery, and he only made one public appearance in 2024 at a Martin Scorsese tribute event.)

Anemone opens in limited release on October 3rd before an expanded schedule on October 10th. The film also stars Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, and Safia Oakley-Green. Check out the trailer below.

Graham Greene, the Canadian actor best known for his role as Kicking Bird in Dances With Wolves, has died aged 73 after a long illness.

Graham Greene, the Canadian actor best known for his role as Kicking Bird in Dances With Wolves, has died aged 73 after a long illness

The Indigenous star, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1991, passed away on Monday (01.09.25) in a Toronto hospital, his representative confirmed.

Graham, born on 22 June 1952, had enjoyed a decades-long career across film, television and stage, often praised for breaking barriers for Indigenous actors in Hollywood.

His representative told Deadline: “He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed.”

He added: “You are finally free. Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven,” referencing Greene’s longtime agent, who died in 2013.

Graham, who was of Oneida First Nation and Canadian descent, grew up on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario.

Before turning to acting, he worked as a welder, draftsman and steelworker.

His television debut came in 1979 with a part in The Great Detective, and his first film role followed in 1983’s Running Brave.

Graham’s career breakthrough arrived in 1990 with Kevin Costner’s epic Dances With Wolves, in which his portrayal of the Sioux medicine man Kicking Bird earned him an Academy Award nomination.

In a past interview with CineMoovie, the actor recalled the challenges of filming, including being thrown from a horse during production.

He said: “I wanted to get payback on the animal rather than take a break from filming.”

Graham also spoke about the difficulty of learning Lakota for the part, saying: “I couldn’t figure out how they ordered their language. Its structure is totally foreign to English or French.”

The star went on to appear in a wide range of roles, from comedy— – such as his recurring part in The Red Green Show – to dramas including The Green Mile (1999), in which he played Arlen Bitterbuck opposite Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan.

Other credits included roles in Maverick (1994), Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), Transamerica (2005), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) and Aaron Sorkin’s Molly’s Game (2017).

More recently, he appeared in Tulsa King alongside Sylvester Stallone and in HBO’s The Last of Us.

Graham’s accolades included a Grammy, a Gemini and a Canadian Screen Award, as well as a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.

Earlier this year, he was honoured with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in Canada.

He also has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.

One of his final screen appearances was in FX’s Reservation Dogs, a series that continued his legacy of championing Indigenous storytelling.

His last completed project is the upcoming thriller Ice Fall, starring Joel Kinnaman, which is scheduled for release on 16 October.

Graham married Hilary Blackmore in 1990.

He is survived by Hilary, their daughter Lilly Lazare-Greene, and his grandson Tarlo.

Following news of his death, tributes poured in on social media, with floods of his fans saying he would be missed forever.

Henry Winkler was “so excited” when his old friend Ron Howard earned his first Emmy nomination for acting.

Henry Winkler was ‘so excited’ when his old friend Ron Howard earned his first Emmy nomination for acting

The 79-year-old actor shows to fame along with Ron, 71, when they co-starred in beloved US comedy Happy Days, and he has now spoken to People magazine to reveal his pride in Ron’s acting success.

Recalling his immediate reaction to Ron’s Emmy nomination for his role in Apple TV+’s Hollywood satire series The Studio, Henry said: “I called (Run) immediately. He was so excited. He is limitless.”

Henry added Ron had spoken to him before filming his scenes for The Studio, which saw him have a furious bust-up with the bumbling head of a movie studio played by Seth Rogen.

He said: “He loved it. He said to me, ‘I’m doing it and I’m going full-tilt.’”

Henry added about how he would love a part in The Studio: “I would do it immediately. It’s a great show.”

Ron received his first-ever acting Emmy nomination in July for his performance as himself in the satire, which takes aim at the Hollywood studio system.

Speaking to People days after the announcement, he said: “I play an a****** version of myself. Apparently, it went over.

“I have many noms and even some wins on the producing and directing side, but first nom as an actor, which is kind of funny. I’m getting a kick out of it.”

It marked Ron’s 14th Emmy nomination.

The Studio stars Seth Rogen as Matt Remick, the new head of embattled movie company Continental Studios.

Ron appeared in the third episode of the first season, which aired in April.

In the episode, his director character – and exaggerated version of his real-life self – cries when he receives critical feedback from Seth’s character and angrily throws his trademark baseball cap at him.

The first season of The Studio also featured guest appearances from Martin Scorsese, Anthony Mackie, Zoë Kravitz and Dave Franco, all of whom also played versions of themselves.

Bryan Cranston also earned an Emmy nomination for a guest role in the series, though he portrayed a fictional character.

Henry and Ron worked together on sitcom Happy Days, which ran for 11 seasons on ABC, between 1974 and 1984.

Ron starred as Richie Cunningham, while Henry played Arthur ‘Fonzie’ Fonzarelli – initially a recurring role before he became a series regular.

The pair reunited briefly on stage at the 2024 Emmys.

Henry said: “I was with him for 45 seconds on the Emmys last year. It was like we had just been on the set a minute ago.

“Oh my God, I love him very much.”
