Iconic ’90s confirmed for “extraordinary” revival on Prime Video

Iconic sci-fi franchise Stargate is officially returning to screens, with an “extraordinary” revival series coming to Prime Video.

A new series based on the franchise, which was first brought to life in the 1994 movie, has been greenlit by Amazon MGM Studios.

The Stargate franchise centres on the titular device, which is able to create a stable wormhole and allows near-instantaneous travel around the cosmos.

The new series is being developed by Stargate veteran, Martin Gero, who will serve as creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner.

He said: “Twenty years ago, my first real job in television was as a Story Editor on Stargate: Atlantis.

“I spent five years at the franchise working across all three series, Stargate taught me everything about making television – it’s written into my DNA.”

He added: “I’m beyond thrilled that Amazon MGM Studios has entrusted me with guiding this incredible franchise into its next phase.

“For those who’ve kept the gate active through conventions, rewatches, and unwavering faith — this one’s for you. And for those that are new to our world – I promise you’re in for something extraordinary.”

In what’s sure to be good news for die-hard fans, Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, who were behind the 1994 Stargate movie, are on board as executive producers. Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi will also serve as consulting producers.

For fans wanting to catch up in the meantime, you’ll first need to watch the original Stargate movie, followed by the TV series Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe.

The cosmos awaits!

Death Unearth ’90s Madonna Cover From Late Frontman Chuck Schuldiner

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Since Death’s Chuck Schuldiner passed away in 2001 from a brain tumor, the metal band have raged on his honor, along with many tribute bands doing the same. Yesterday, though, the group came across a ’90s Madonna cover featuring the late vocalist and guitarist.

“Found this today going through some things,” the caption on the official Death Facebook page reads. “Chuck recorded this in the early stages of his battle with cancer, I remember it well. Chuck sitting in his bedroom with his stealth and a drum machine. I’m not sure how many people outside of the family and a few friends have heard this but it’s all yours. Chuck’s version of Madonna’s 1998 single ‘Frozen.'”

The track comes from Ray Of Light, and the goup definitely took creative liberty with their rendition, doubling its three-minute running time and using it to shred on animated guitars. Watch the surprisingly high quality video of the song playing in a car here.

5 Chic ’90s Gwyneth Paltrow Looks to Copy This Winter

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

For as long as I’ve been interested in fashion, I’ve been interested in what Gwyneth Paltrow is wearing. Refined but not unfussy, timeless but still attuned to the trends of the moment, Gwyneth’s outfits are a source of inspiration whenever I’m feeling stuck.

While Gwyneth’s current outfits are undeniably elegant (I’ve documented more than a few recent favourites), I have a particular penchant for some of her ’90s looks. The silhouettes she championed then—sleek knits, minimalist tailoring, easy layering—feel just as relevant in 2025 as they did three decades ago. Below, I’ve rounded up five of her best looks from the era that I’ll be re-creating this month.

1. The Scarf-Knit

Style Notes: Long before 2025’s scarf-knit obsession took hold, Paltrow was styling the chic silhouette. In 1997, she wore a sleeveless version in a soft beige tone, pairing it with glossy leather trousers. In 2025, I think this would look just as chic with straight-leg jeans.

The scarf detailing gives your look an elegant essence that, despite being a roomy knit, makes this jumper feel particularly chic.

2. Jumper Tied Around The Waist

Style Notes: As if blessed with a crystal ball, Gwyneth’s ’90s outfits feel surprisingly on point for winter 2025. Keeping her styling typically sleek, the actor wove an element of interest into her outfit by means of the fuzzy knit she wore slung around her waist. A practical accessory that imparts an easy, effortless feel, Paltrow’s chic silhouette is one you can experiment with straight away.

3. Leopard Print Coat

Style Notes: If I were to recommend just one outerwear investment this season, it would be a leopard print coat. Paltrow’s 1996 take, worn with minimal accessories and pared-back styling, proves its enduring appeal.

4. V-Neck Knit Over White Tee

Style Notes: Arguably one of the most timeless pairings in Paltrow’s repertoire, this layered look feels as fresh today as it did in 1996. A loose V-neck jumper over a crisp white tee, straight-leg jeans and black Converse trainers. So simple, so chic

5. Knee-Length Skirt + Boots

Style Notes: As seen across the autumn/winter 2025 runways, the knee-length skirt is absolutely back—and Gwyneth wore it best decades ago. Her version, paired with sleek knee-high boots, feels elegant, easy and enduringly cool.
