Elizabeth Olsen in Afterlife Rom-Com

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

I told myself that I wouldn’t say that “Eternity” is too long, but isn’t it always? If not the premise, that is at least the guiding principle behind David Freyne’s sincere, somewhat amusing, and sweetly overextended rom-com, which splits the difference between “After Life” and “Defending Your Life” with its story of a newly deceased woman named Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) being forced to choose which of her two husbands — the smoldering Luke who died in the Korean War (Callum Turner), or the absolute Larry she was married to for the 67 years that followed (Miles Teller) — she’d like to join forever in the great beyond.

Each of the fellas has their upsides (Luke is hot, and Larry is comfortable), but committing to either of them until the end of time seems like a pretty bleak proposal. Likewise, none of the gimmicky themed realms that Joan is offered to “live in” — Capitalist World, Studio 54 World, Weimar World, (“Now with 100% less Nazis!”) — feel like the kind of place you’d want to spend more than a few hours, let alone several billion years. “‘Til death do us part” is romantic, practical, and offset by the backdoor insurance policy of divorce. “‘Til the sun explodes, and then maybe even longer after that” is an ungodly prison sentence. Freyne’s hyper-agnostic film may not believe in heaven or hell, but it has some pretty vivid ideas of what the latter could look like.

A more ambitious — and less conservative — movie might have used this premise to dig a bit deeper into the commitments that people make to each other on this mortal coil, but “Eternity” is content to circle the idea that life is beautiful and worth treasuring because it doesn’t last forever. That much is clear from the moment Freyne and Pat Cunnane’s high-concept script (a real Black List special) first drops us into the Hyatt-like Junction where souls process what’s happened and have seven days to pick their final destinations from a variety of convention floor displays. The options range from bleak to bleaker, as everything about the set-up exudes all the romance and splendor of shopping for a time share. It’s enough to make us yearn for the gender reveal party where Larry choked to death on a pretzel; at least that came with the promise of an ending.

'Nuremberg'

But the film’s characters are too caught up in their post-mortem love triangle to realize they’re essentially fighting over what meal Joan should choose to eat every single day of her infinite afterlife: her favorite comfort food, or a rare delicacy she’s been fantasizing about ever since her last taste of it in 1953. Larry is the first dead person we follow into the Junction, and like everyone else his physical form reverts to reflect how it looked when he was at his happiest, which for him was in his mid-30s after he first got married. Cute. The kind of nondescript everyman who loved to complain even though he walked through life without much want or trouble, Larry feels like a guy you’d meet in the buffet line on a cruise ship. He’s as nice as he is nondescript, and the jaded but personable Afterlife Coordinator assigned to his case (Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Anna) can’t wait to meet and forget her next client.

That changes, and how, when Anna realizes that the Junction’s handsome local bartender is Joan’s first love, and that Joan is the reason he took a service job in purgatory rather than choose a permanent vacation in paradise; Luke has been pouring beer and scrubbing glasses for more than half a century in the hopes that he and Joan might be reunited when she dies. Which, conveniently enough, she does just a few moments before Larry is meant to board a train for the godforsaken eternity he’s chosen for himself (Beach World). Suddenly, and to the great delight of both Anna and her fellow AC, Ryan (John Early), there’s some real juicy drama in the Junction. Which man will Joan choose, Captain America or the guy whose farts she’s had to smell for the last six decades? Like a metaphysical riff on Netflix’s “The Ultimatum,” she’ll get a trial run with both of them before having to make up her mind.

“Eternity” does what it can to leverage its heady concept into a heart-stirring tale of love and longing, but the world-building — or lack thereof — invariably gets in the way of the emotion that Freyne is hoping to generate from it. While the movie’s three-sided romance is never quite as artificial as the Junction where so much of it takes place, its angles lose their sharpness over the course of a story that has so much scenery to attend to, and each of its main characters is left to fight an uphill battle against the archetype that threatens to define them.

The cast is game for the challenge (and fun to watch do the “old people in A24-era bodies” thing), even if their best efforts aren’t quite enough to give “Eternity” the emotional undertow it needs to become more than a semi-charming thought exercise. Teller’s upbeat, go-with-the-flow charm makes him easy to accept as a simple guy who just wants — and expects — his afterlife to resemble the one he left on Earth, and the fact that he’s more of a leading man than a characer actor lends an extra zing to the constant jokes about how much hotter Callum Turner is, like any of us could hope to compete with the future Mr. Lipa (someone in the movie compares Luke to Montgomery Clift, and Turner channels that matinee idol energy to a tee).

Olsen, meanwhile, has the most thankless and important role in the story, but her mid-century war bride routine is charming enough to make the whole thing feel effortless, and the interiority she rescues from the script only makes it more convincing that two good-looking men would fight each other to — or is it from? — the death to be with her forever. While Joan flip-flops about her feelings more often than John Kerry on the campaign trail (a painfully outdated reference that’s still a few decades too recent for Larry to use or Luke to understand), her anguish is palpable enough to anchor the movie to something real as it runs between different fantasy worlds. For their part, Early and Randolph both feel held down in a less fortunate way; much as this gifted pair compensates for the comedy that “Eternity” can’t wring out of its leads (and have solid chemistry to boot), you can almost feel them being smothered by the schematic nature of a story that doesn’t have room for them to cut loose.

It’s a story that’s better told by its setting than with its action — one that doesn’t really go anywhere, and still takes the scenic route to get there. In that light, Zazu Myers’ production design probably deserves top billing here. We don’t get to see enough of the Junction to disabuse us of the sense that it’s a glorified Broadway backdrop (complete with painted skylines and cloth scrims to indicate whether it’s day or night), but the well-observed tackiness of its mid-century aesthetic, and the related impression that purgatory didn’t exist until Don Draper invented it as an advertising opportunity, helps underscore the idea that life in any realm is only as tolerable as the people with whom you choose to spend it.

“Eternity,” however doesn’t have any interest in that kind of cynicism, to the point that it forgoes the most logical ending — a shared embrace of the void — for a different kind of forever. In doing so, it somewhat forfeits the film’s prevailing message — that life is beautiful as a result of its brevity and occasional bitterness — in favor of a more digestible morale about the paradises we create for ourselves here on Earth. It’s a fitting compromise for such a pleasantly unobjectionable rom-com; one that’s scared of forever, but takes almost just as long just to end up back where it started.

Grade: C+

“Eternity” premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. A24 will release the film in select theaters on November 14 before expanding on November 26.

Story House Partners to Shoot Debut Film ‘St. George’ in Montana

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Story House Partners, the Montana-based production branch of Story House Inc., will begin production on its first feature film in October. Titled “St. George,” the movie is a family drama written and directed by Andrew Pastides.

The film will focus on two brothers dealing with grief in the wake of their sister’s death. One of the brothers has Down syndrome, and the other brother becomes his caregiver as his closest remaining family member. However, when their late sister’s boyfriend re-enters their lives, things take a turn for the worse, forcing both brothers to confront their familial flaws head-on.

“St. George” was developed with the National Down Syndrome Society to ensure authentic representation of its neurodivergent characters and expand conversations about the community. Pastides said in a statement, “I’m drawn to the gray areas — the space where tragedy and humor overlap, where love and loss coexist. With ‘St. George,’ I wanted to explore how silence around grief leaves us unequipped to love fully, and how resilience takes different shapes in different families — especially within the neurodivergent community.”

The film will be shot on-location in Missoula, Mont., bringing production to the Mountain West in accordance with Story House Partners’ investment in the region’s film industry. In addition to the movie, Story House Inc. is developing a 47-acre studio campus in Missoula as well as a 240-acre community in Sheridan, Wyo., dubbed Story House Village.

By working with lawmakers to develop Story House Montana, the company hopes to build a production ecosystem in an underserved part of the United States where other large-scale projects have faltered.

Story House co-founder and chief creative officer James Brown III added, “It’s incredibly meaningful that ‘St. George’ is the first feature film from Story House Partners. To launch our producing journey with a story this powerful feels like both an honor and a responsibility — we’ve been trusted with something deeply human, and it brings me so much joy to share it with the world.”

“St. George” is produced by Sean Patrick Higgins, James Brown III and Matt Lauria, and is shot by Bianca Butti.

Could Task and Mare of Easttown Collide? Creator Says ‘Love the Idea’

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

We’ve now entered crime-drama fall.

The new HBO series Task, starring Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey, is set to debut on Sunday night, and its creator, Brad Ingelsby, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter at the recent premiere in NYC about why he wanted to tell the story of Task after the success of Mare of Easttown, which both explore similar themes of grief, generational trauma and are based in the same setting: Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He also muses over the idea of both worlds colliding.

“I think there were still more stories to be told about people in Delaware County,” Ingelsby said. “They exist in the same world, so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Mare (played by Kate Winslet) walked into a Wawa that Tom (played by Ruffalo) was in. I don’t have a story in mind that’s a crossover, but I love the idea of their worlds intersecting.”

Pelphrey responds to the idea of a potential crossover of universes, “Welcome to the new MCU,” he laughed before adding, “That would be amazing. I was a huge fan of Mare of Easttown. And obviously, I’m a big fan of Task. So, if there’s a version where those things crossover, I think that would make a lot of people very happy.”

Mare of Easttown followed Winslet’s Mare Sheehan, a detective who investigates a murder while dealing with her own struggles. Task sees Tom Brandis (Ruffalo), a former priest-turned-FBI agent, assigned to a Task Force to stop a string of robberies run by family man Robbie Prendergrast (Pelphrey).

To play an FBI Agent, again, Ruffalo told THR about his preparation. “I had a lot of support,” he said. “So much of it was what [Tom’s] dealing with personally. But I also had just the most incredible technical advisor, Scott Duffy, who is an FBI agent, but also trains FBI agents, and he was with us every single day, and I would run over to him, and we were constantly like, ‘How do we get a deeper cut on us? How do we make it this character’s version of being an FBI agent? How do we make it interesting to people?’”

As Ruffalo and Pelphrey’s raw performances lead the show, Ingelsby explains why they were both the right people for their respective roles.

“I think Mark Ruffalo, as a person, has many of the admirable qualities of Tom as a character, and those are compassion, empathy, always looking to find the good in people and incredibly humble. When you start to list the qualities that Tom Brandis has, he’s in the seminary; he’s from the northeast; he’s a father; he’s a theologian — you have a list of perfect actors that is really small and Mark is at the top of that list,” Ingelsby said. “And Pelphrey, he auditioned for us, as soon as I heard him laugh, I thought, ‘What an infectious, incredible laugh. He has the physicality to play Robbie.’ He also has the humanity to be a father, to care for his kids and he’s really sensational.”

Since the show has already received rave reviews from critics, there’s buzz about a second season, but Ingelsby plays it coy, telling THR, “As long as audiences have an interest in this season, I’ll continue to write them.”

Task premieres on HBO Max at 9:00 p.m., with new episodes dropping weekly.

Jimmy Kimmel Pays Heartfelt Regis Philbin Tribute After Emmy Win

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Jimmy Kimmel walked away with a trophy at Sunday night’s (September 7) 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards and used his acceptance speech to thank the late Regis Philbin.

The late-night host won the Emmy for Outstanding Host For A Game Show for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, beating out Jeopardy!‘s Ken Jennings, Pop Culture Jeopardy!‘s Colin Jost, Celebrity Family Feud‘s Steve Harvey, and Press Your Luck‘s Elizabeth Banks.

After collecting the trophy, Kimmel praised Millionaire‘s original host, Philbin, who won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host back in 2001. Kimmel said Philbin, who died in 2020, was “watching over all of us right now,” per Deadline.

He spoke more about Philbin backstage, telling the press, “Regis was the best at this. I don’t think the show would still be on the air if Regis hadn’t hosted it to start with. He was such an unusual pick at the time. I don’t think people remember that because it became such a big sensation, not just a hit, but like a cultural phenomenon. So people didn’t think about how Regis was a very unlikely choice.”

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host went on to say how Philbin was “always nice” to him, adding, “It’s exciting to have this [award] and to know that he has this same Emmy somewhere in his family’s collection as well.”

During his speech, Kimmel also thanked the show’s executive producer, Michael Davies, who was also the producer on Win Ben Stein’s Money, the late 1990s Comedy Central game show that won Kimmel his first Emmy.

In recent years, Kimmel won Emmys for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for his Live in Front of a Studio Audience collaborations with Norman Lear. The specials saw recreations of some of Lear’s classic sitcoms, including All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Good Times, The Facts of Life, and Diff’rent Strokes.

When asked backstage whether he would do another Live in Front of a Studio Audience, Kimmel suggested it wouldn’t feel right to do it without Lear, who passed away in December 2023. “It would be too emotional to do it without Norman Lear, you know, I don’t know if my heart could take it,” he shared.

Kimmel, who signed a three-year deal with ABC in 2022, was also asked about his future in late-night and whether he’s thought about retirement.

“I’m not prepared to answer that question,” he responded. “It’s something I think about a lot. Things have changed a lot over the last few years, over the last nine years, I guess, and each day is a new adventure, and I kind of take them as they come.”

Angelina Jolie Fashion Drama Falls Flat

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Fashion is a serious business. It makes people billions of dollars a year, it influences culture in myriad overt and subliminal ways. But when covered on film, this haute world is typically skewered, in sophisticated satires like Robert Altman’s “Pret-a-Porter” and absurdist comedies like “Zoolander.” Credit to French director Alice Winocour, then, that she approaches her country’s perhaps most iconic industry with near total earnestness in the new film, “Couture.”

The film, like Altman’s, is a collection of intersecting storylines, all converging on an elaborate Paris Fashion Week show. Angelina Jolie plays a woman, Maxine, who is new to the atelier scene, an indie-horror director who’s flown from America to Paris to shoot a short film that will accompany the models as they take to the runway. Anyier Anei is Ada, a newbie model from South Sudan by way of Kenya, wide-eyed and hungry as she’s tossed into a maelstrom of haughty men and clubgoing sisters in strutting. Ella Rumpf plays a makeup artist-cum-novelist who observes this glamorous, exclusive milieu with poetic detachment, while Rumpf’s “Raw” costar Garance Marillier is a seamstress meticulously constructing one all-important garment.

Black Rabbit stars Jason Bateman as Vince, Jude Law as Jake, shown here looking to the right, anxious, wide-eyed

Thus we have entrée into various interesting sectors of the industry, through which we ought to get a thorough, enlightening portrait of process, pride, and pressure. But Winocour — whose career has fascinatingly veered from the thriller “Disorder” to the sci-fi “Proxima” to the trauma drama “Paris Memories” — is ultimately more interested in mood than explication. We do learn a few things as the threads of “Couture” unspool, but mostly we are meant to feel a sort of broadly melancholic wonder at this jumble of human activity.

On occasion, just such a feeling is achieved, especially in the climactic runway sequence, when a rainstorm whips up and epiphanies are experienced. Winocour is a tasteful stylist, employing Filip Leyman and Anna Von Hausswolff’s evocative score to further elevate her already plenty stirring pictures. There are quieter, subtler moments of loveliness too: a model taking a champagne bottle out of an ice bucket and replacing it with her swollen feet, a film director admiring the particular red of fake blood in a movie, an airport goodbye between two young fellow travelers from different war-torn lands. Winocour clearly has a deep care for her characters, and for the often maligned or misunderstood women who labor away in this still-quite-male-controlled industry.

The effort is admirable. The overall construction of “Couture,” though, is patchy and ill-fitting. The crisscrossing narratives should allow Winocour to go exploring, and yet she doesn’t do much with the opportunity. Most of the characters are given plotlines so faint they’re barely detectable. Ada talks with her mother and brother back in Kenya, worries about a rolled ankle, parties with her new friends. Angèle, the makeup artist, goes from gig to gig, engaging in brief and rarely very meaningful small talk with whoever’s around. (That may be a close approximation of the job, but it’s not terribly cinematic.) The seamstress works on the dress and then works on it some more, and then she finishes it. That’s pretty much it.

That naturalistic, lo-fi approach might play just fine were Maxine not saddled with a heavy, thudding cancer arc. She’s had some tests done before her Paris trip, and a phone call alerts her to bad news. This does afford Jolie the chance to share a few scenes with the great Vincent Lindon as a concerned doctor, but otherwise her plot is woefully light on specifics, on anything that might define Maxine’s particular reaction to this terrible news. Jolie has said in interviews that Maxine’s diagnosis was partly inspired by a health matter in her past, so there is something personal at work in the film. But Winocour does not do enough to give shading and texture to Maxine’s dismayingly generic journey.

Jolie nonetheless manages to bring some palpable life to the role, complicating her otherworldly magnetism with a dawning dread and sorrow. She’s particularly effective — and even funny — in scenes with Louis Garrel, who plays Maxine’s cinematographer and possible love interest with understated sex appeal. Jolie is, of course, a master of flirting and seducing on camera, but she does not do so on autopilot. She sharply illustrates the desperation and loneliness that are driving Maxine into the arms of her colleague, the sense that she may be saying goodbye to a certain facet of herself as she is whisked off into the realm of disease and treatment.

That is, I suppose, why one asks a movie star like Jolie to join the ensemble. If only Winocour gave her more nuance to play with. And if only the rest of “Couture” didn’t feel so mismatched with Maxine’s struggles. As is, the film is somehow both glancing and melodramatic, a strange and underwhelming cocktail of blasé Euro sleekness and TV-movie drama. Ah well. At least the clothes are nice.

Grade: C

Howard Stern’s Show Canceled at SiriusXM, Andy Cohen Takes Over Channel

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Howard Stern‘s run on SiriusXM has come to an end after 20 years.

Last month, amid a spate of rumors and speculation that Stern’s SiriusXM deal was not being renewed, Stern gleefully turned the chatter into a tune-in promo. His show told listeners he would address the topic on the Sept. 2 episode of “The Howard Stern Show”; however, last week, he postponed the reveal until Sept. 8 — indicating that a deal was not yet done.

On Monday morning, on Stern’s Channel 100 on SiriusXM, it wasn’t Stern who came on the air — it was Andy Cohen who introduced himself and said that the channel going forward will now be known as “Andy 100.”

“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard, and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen said. “This was supposed to be a cleaner hand off — I’m kind of winging it,” he continued, saying that it has been a “surreal morning here.”

Added Cohen, “I can’t possibly fill his void” and said he was confident Stern would land on another platform soon.

Stern, who is 71, first signed with satellite radio broadcaster Sirius in 2004 (prior to its merger with XM), in part to be free of oversight by the FCC, which had levied millions of dollars in fines on terrestrial radio stations that carried his show for alleged indecency. “The Howard Stern Show” debuted on Sirius in January 2006. His most recent five-year renewal with SiriusXM was inked in 2020.

Last week, SiriusXM execs acknowledged that talks with Stern were ongoing but that they hoped to ink a new deal. “I think he’s been core to our platform for over 20 years, so I’m confident we’ll get to the right place,” SiriusXM CEO Jennifer Witz said Sept. 3 at an investment conference.

Stern’s original deal with Sirius was worth $500 million over five years including stock. His more recent renewals “topped out at roughly $80 million to $100 million,” according to Bloomberg. Regarding a Bloomberg report in 2020 that Stern was nearing a deal with SiriusXM worth $120 million annually, Stern said on his show at the time that he and his agent were “kind of baffled by it.”

Over the years, the notoriously ribald Stern has interviewed hundreds of actors, comedians, music artists, athletes, politicians and more on his show. At his side for most of his career have been co-host Robin Quivers, write Fred Norris and producer Gary “Baba Booey” Dell’Abate.

Disney+ & Spain’s Atresmedia Team For Streaming Pact

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Disney has continued its strategy of teaming with European broadcasters through a deal with Spanish network Atresmedia.

Through an agreement billed as “the first major integration between a global streaming platform and Spain‘s leading broadcaster,” Disney+ will carry more than 300 hours of Spanish-produced Atresmedia programing annually in a branded section.

Starting this month, Disney+ subscribers in Spain will be able to access shows such as La Voz, Tu Cara Me Suena, Vis a Vis and Mar Afuera. Content will be “regularly updated,” according to the companies.

This comes after Disney struck similar carriage agreements in the UK, with commercial network ITV, and Germany, with public broadcaster ZDF. There have been various similar streamer-broadcaster partnerships struck in 2025, with Netflix’s agreement to carry the live channels and on-demand content from France’s TF1 starting 2026 arguably the most eye-catching.

“This pioneering and unprecedented agreement with Disney+, one of the largest international streaming platforms, consolidates the leadership of Atresmedia and atresplayer, reaffirming the success of their innovative content strategy,” said Atresmedia CEO Javier Bardají. “It allows us to expand the reach of our productions, promoting Spanish talent and culture. Disney and Atresmedia share the quality and ambition of their content, as well as the care of their brands. It was only logical that we would meet.”

The agreement will see Disney+ gaining co-exclusive rights to a number of Atresmedia productions. Atresplayer original Mar Afuera will premiere on September 14, with others such as La Voz and Tu Cara Me Suena following, and Antena 3 linear shows such as La Encrucijada and Sueños de Libertad will be offered, along with legacy titles such as Vis a Vis, Física o Química, and Aquí No Hay Quien Viva.

We hear the SVOD originals will be released day-and-date, while the likes of La Voz, Spain’s version of The Voice, made available on Disney+ one day after their linear broadcasts. Some long-running novelas will be made available on Disney+ either next day or within a month of airing on Atresmedia’s free-to-air channels.

“This commitment has been part of our model and philosophy for decades and has allowed us to achieve international successes such as Gran Hotel, La Casa de Papel, Velvet, El Tiempo Entre Costuras, Vis a Vis, Veneno, Alba or Entre Tierras, which have left their mark and paved the way for the rest of the sector,” said Bardají. That is why this alliance also strengthens Atresmedia as the engine and benchmark of our industry and confirms atresplayer as the leading Spanish platform and local hero in our country, with a trajectory of continuous growth.”

Karl Holmes, General Manager for Disney+, EMEA added: “Atresmedia consistently delivers popular, must-watch Spanish content including some of the country’s finest original productions. Adding hundreds of hours of Atresmedia shows to stream on Disney+ is great news for our customers in Spain. This deal also reflects our broader commitment to supporting local broadcasters across Europe, including our recent collaboration in the UK with ITVX and ZDF in Germany.

“We’re focused on bringing the very best, local stories to our customers, alongside our extraordinary slate of original Disney+ series such as recent hit Ladrones: La Tiara de Santa Agueda and global hit movies and shows like Lilo & Stitch and FX’s The Bear.

2025 Creative Arts Emmys Winners List Night Two

by jummy84 September 8, 2025
written by jummy84

Jimmy Kimmel, Alan Cumming, Barack Obama and SNL50: The Anniversary Special were among the many winners during the second night of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys.

The annual two-day event, which took place the weekend before the Primetime Emmys, handed out dozens of awards to mostly below-the-line categories. Awards announced on Sunday spanned variety programming, nonfiction and reality sectors.

Early winners on night two included Kimmel for best game show host for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and SNL50 in a number of categories. Saturday Night Live‘s 50th anniversary special took home eight Emmys on Sunday night, including writing and directing for a variety special, leading the slate of winners for the evening.

Other top winners Sunday night include Pee-wee As Himself, which won four Emmys, including best documentary or nonfiction special, while the main Saturday Night Live weekly late night program earned three Emmys, tying with The Traitors.

Former President Obama took home his third Emmy for best narrator for Our Oceans. Conan O’Brien won the Emmy for outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) tied to The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

For the second year in a row, Cumming took home the title of best reality host for The Traitors. Queer Eye won best structured reality program, while Love on the Spectrum won in the unstructured reality category. The latter show, too, won outstanding reality casting.

In addition, 100 Foot Wave won best documentary or nonfiction series, while Jeopardy was recognized as best game show.

The night included a slate of noteworthy presenters, including Jennifer Affleck, Mikey Day, Nyle DiMarco, Amaya Espinal, Danielle Fishel, Henry Louis Gates Jr., Edwin Lee Gibson, Harvey Guillén, actor David Hoffman, Iris Kendall, Jordan Klepper, Whitney Leavitt, Thomas Lennon, Joe Manganiello, Marlee Matlin, Atsuko Okatsuka, Sarah Silverman, Tanner Smith, Connor Tomlinson and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson.

While both Saturday and Sunday’s Creative Arts Emmys ceremories, both held at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, were not televised live, an edited presentation will air on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. PT on FXX and will be available to stream on Hulu through Oct. 7.

Severance scored the most Emmy nominations this year with 27 nods, followed by The Penguin with 24, The Studio and The White Lotus with 23 each, The Last of Us with 16, Andor and Hacks with 14 each and Adolescence, The Bear and The Pitt with 13 each.

During Saturday’s night one of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys, Bryan Cranston and Julianne Nicholson won best comedy guest actor and actress, respectively. Shawn Hatosy and Merritt Wever took home best drama guest actor and actress, respectively.

Additional winners honored on Saturday night include Cristobal Tapia de Veer, The White Lotus composer, for best original main title theme music (following his public falling-out with the show’s creator Mike White), Rebel Ridge for best TV movie, Julie Andrews for best character voiceover performance as Lady Whistledown for Bridgerton and Arcane for best animated program.

Juried winners, which were announced last month, were presented across both nights of the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys.

A complete list of the winners announced during night two of the Creative Arts Emmys follows. See the winners from night one here.
