Maroon 5: Love Is Like Album Review

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Since their ascent in the early aughts, Maroon 5 have been inescapably viral: Songs like “This Love” and “Moves Like Jagger” have ridden to the top of the pop charts (even if frontman Adam Levine has insisted he’s inspired, above all else, by hip-hop); they’ve soundtracked everything from Kia commercials to Disney movie trailers; they headlined the 12th annual Honda Civic Tour. Can you even call it selling out when the whole point has always been commercial success? Love Is Like, the group’s eighth album since Songs About Jane rocked the adult contemporary scene in 2002, continues Maroon 5’s legacy of neutered, frictionless songs to activate brands to. Here, behind a roster of plug-and-play beats and glittery guest stars like LISA and Lil Wayne, you can meditate on the way algorithms breed cultural hegemony and imagine you’re trapped in a Sandals resort lobby.

Adam Levine’s white boy swagger has never been less convincing, particularly as he raps non sequiturs on tracks like “Yes I Did.” It’s a chilling Notes-app non-apology for spousal infidelity: “Yeah, if you ask me if I ever really loved you/Yes, I did,” he says between a falsettoed bridge. “Need to know that I still wanted to be in this/Yes, I did/If you’re questioning my motivation, you know where I live.” Later, in the refrain, he cops to “making every mistake there was to make” and “turning a negative into a positive” between a noxious peppering of “yeah yeah yeah”s. Everything is a pose, it seems, from remorse to sincerity (“We was only having fun,” he insists on “California,” adopting a grammar whose authenticity is questionable).

Meanwhile, “All Night” is an exploration of a toxic relationship written from the perspective of, one can only assume, an A.I. chatbot.  The music video stars his wife, Behati Prinsloo, in a Robert Palmer homage—but while Palmer’s addiction to love had teeth and a latexed vision of ’80s hedonism, “All Night” just mouthbreathes platitudes and cliches that feel just a little too stupid for an Instagram caption. “We do it all night, until the sunlight,” sings Levine on the hook, a line so bad it barely hides his contempt for his audience and the American tradition of songwriting of which he claims to be a part.

But if your shoulders begin to shimmy despite your misgivings at the end of “I Like It” featuring Sexyy Red, you’re not afflicted and you’re not alone. Maroon 5 is the Monsanto of music, genetically and corporately engineered for maximum palatability. They’ve proven in the past that they can, on occasion, tilt that earworm quality towards a pleasant kind of maximalism, embracing his inner cheeseball that lets you forget you’re being pandered to and fall effortlessly into the groove. “Burn Burn Burn,” is as close as this record gets, a head-nodding chronicle of heartbreak that feels like too much time in the sun on Venice Beach.

Too anemic for the Trolls movie franchise yet too emotionally complex for toddlers, Love Is Like is the latest repackaging of benign background noise for people who register music as something that happens without registering its particulars. It goes through your system like a juice cleanse—quick and optimized, but ultimately meant for the toilet.

Ray Winstone says Marvel stop “cultural films” from being made

by jummy84 August 20, 2025

Ray Winstone has hit out at Marvel, claiming it stops “cultural films” from being made.

  • READ MORE: ‘Thunderbolts*’ review: aggy antiheroes make Marvel fun again

The actor, who played villain Dreykov in the Scarlett Johansson-led 2021 action-thriller Black Widow, said he felt the industry has “become a business” at the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Winstone said via Variety: “It’s all about selling tickets. We see what’s happening in Hollywood with Marvel and all that kind of stuff… There is room for it, and it’s fun, but it takes away from getting cultural films made, which are best for the actors, [and] are really good acting parts.

“It’s getting more and more difficult to do that. If you’re not on social media now, they might not even consider you for a movie because they want a fanbase to come with that.”

He added: “You have to go on Instagram, and I don’t want to go on fucking Instagram. I don’t know if it’s a good thing, but if it brings people to the cinema and creates new jobs, then I’ll do it. But I’d like to see more cultural films being made, that’s where good cinema is. From my point of view, anyway.”

Winstone referred to his roles in Gary Oldman’s Nil By Mouth and Sexy Beast as examples of cultural films.

He previously recalled filming Black Widow as a “soul-destroying” experience due to having to do reshoots.

The actor has now reiterated his frustrations with working on the movie adding: “I come home after finishing the job and get a call saying we need to do some reshoots.

“I say: ‘How many scenes?’ [director Cate Shortland] says ‘all of them.’ So I said she should recast [the role], but I was contracted, so I had to do it. I go back, they do my hair all nice, put me in the suit, and I couldn’t do it. I’d already done it. I thought, ‘I’m not doing it now. I’ve done it. That’s how it’s going to be.’ That’s rejection, you know? There’s nothing worse than doing something, leaving it on the floor, and then being told it’s not right.”

Winstone is currently filming the next season of Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen and will appear in a forthcoming biopic about former snooker star Jimmy White.

Brandon Blackstock’s Daughter Shares Emotional Tribute to Her Father

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Brandon Blackstock’s daughter, Savannah Blackstock Lee, wrote a touching tribute to her father on Tuesday. Brandon died on Aug. 7 at the age of 48 following a three-year battle with cancer.

“My daddy never fell short of making my dreams come true. No matter how high or how far, he made a way. Not only did he make my dreams come true, he chased them with me,” Savannah wrote on Instagram. “Worldwide he was there, my biggest cheerleader. He is my best friend, my voice of reason, and my favorite phone call every day.”

Savannah opened up about her faith, sharing that over “the past 6 months my dad gifted me a new avenue of our relationship, and that was a relationship centered in Jesus.” She continued, “He always loved the Lord, but 6 months ago he sought the Lord.” Savannah wrote that 12 days ago her father “blessed me the most valuable gift I could’ve asked for,” adding, “The gift of knowing where he is today, in Heaven with our Savior.”

She ended her tribute on a heartfelt note, writing, “I lost a piece of my heart and my favorite Cowboy, but Heaven gained an angel. I’m so thankful for the time I did have and I can’t wait for eternity. I love you daddy and I will miss you indefinitely. Enjoy your ranch up there, God designed it with your heart’s desires in mind.”

In her post, Savannah also included a carousel of photos with her father, including images of Brandon at her wedding and with her son, Lake, and husband, Quentin Lee. A month before her father’s death, Savannah shared that she is expecting another child with Quentin.

Along with Savannah, Brandon also had a son, Seth, from a previous marriage. He later married Kelly Clarkson, with whom they shared two children. Clarkson and Blackstock finalized their divorce in 2022, nine years after tying the knot.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” Blackstock’s family said in a statement shortly after his death. “He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.”

Morgan Wallen & 'I'm The Problem' Will Not Be Submitted for Grammys

Morgan Wallen & ‘I’m The Problem’ Will Not Be Submitted for Grammys

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

As Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem sits at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the 11th non-consecutive week, Billboard has learned that his team will not submit the album, any of the 37 songs on the voluminous set, or Wallen for consideration for the 68th Grammy Awards, to be held Feb. 1, 2026.

Explore

See latest videos, charts and news

Hits Daily Double broke the news earlier Tuesday (Aug. 19) that the album would not be submitted, but Billboard understands that the action goes further and includes not putting Wallen forward in any category, such as best country solo performance, or any of the seven songs that he co-wrote in any song categories in any genre or general field.

However, Wallen and his camp are not stopping the other songwriters from submitting their works from the album, which has already spawned four No. 1s on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and three chart-toppers on the Hot Country Songs chart. It has also generated one No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100: Wallen’s duet with Tate McRae, “What I Want.”

Wallen, whose 2021 Big Loud/Republic album Dangerous: The Double Album is Billboard‘s No. 1 album of the first 25 years of the 21st century, is removing himself from consideration from an awards body whose voters have almost totally ignored his musical contributions.

The only nominations that the country superstar has received in his nearly 10-year career were for his work on Post Malone’s F1 Trillion album. Their chart-topping duet, “I Had Some Help,” received nods for best country duo/group performance and best country song for the awards presented this past February. Wallen has never received any nominations for any works from his solo albums.

As of this week, Wallen has logged 40 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — a total matched or exceeded by only eight artists in the chart’s nearly 70-year history. All eight of those artists have won multiple Grammys.

Additionally, Wallen is one of only 19 artists to log 30 or more weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Wallen and The Monkees are the only artists with 30 or more weeks at No. 1 who have not won a Grammy.

First-round voting for the Grammy Awards runs Oct. 3-15 with nominations due to be announced Nov. 7.

Wallen’s action is extraordinarily rare, but not unprecedented among superstars. Both The Weeknd and Drake previously decided not to submit in the Grammy process. Their actions also followed years of feeling under-recognized.

The Weeknd decided to boycott the ceremony following his controversial shut-out at the 2021 ceremony. The R&B superstar was thought to be a strong contender for album of the year for his fourth LP After Hours, which spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as well as for record and song of the year for his smash hit “Blinding Lights,” which became Billboard ‘s biggest Hot 100 song of all time. But when the 2021 Grammy Award nominations were revealed, The Weeknd’s name was nowhere to be found.

The Weeknd initially expressed his frustration toward the Recording Academy by tweeting, “The Grammys remain corrupt.” In his second Twitter missive, he wrote that he went from planning a Grammys performance to being “not invited.” The Weeknd later stated in a Billboard cover story that his snub in the top categories felt like “a sucker punch.”

Like The Weeknd, Wallen may find himself nominated despite his decision not to submit, for example, if McRae’s team submits their duet. The Weeknd was up for three awards at the 2022 ceremony thanks to his contributions to recordings by Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Doja Cat.

Drake blasted the Grammys following The Weeknd’s surprising shut-out at the 2021 Grammys. “I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come.”

Leading up to the 2022 Grammy Awards, Drake was initially announced as a nominee for best rap performance (for “Way 2 Sexy,” featuring Future and Young Thug) and best rap album (for Certified Lover Boy), but asked to have his name withdrawn from contention for both awards on Dec. 6, 2021. The Recording Academy honored his request and officially removed his nominations for both awards.

Since then, Drake has received eight nominations – all for collaborations with other artists.

Wallen’s representative declined to comment. Representatives from Big Loud, Republic and the Recording Academy did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Since David Bowie’s Death “the World’s Gone to Shit”

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Acclaimed actor Gary Oldman says it’s no coincidence that the “world’s gone to shit” since his longtime friend, David Bowie, died in January 2016.

Oldman opened up about his connection with Bowie during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he emphasized the depths of their friendship: “We laughed a lot — a lot. He was very, very, very funny, David,” the Oscar-winning actor revealed. “And we sort of had similar kinds of backgrounds, grew up in similar neighborhoods” (Bowie and Oldman both grew up in South London).

The actor went on to add that Bowie was “inspiring” and “a great innovator and not afraid to try things,” among his many positive attributes. He also cited Bowie’s constant innovation as an inspiration in his own work.

“Don’t you feel that since he died, the world’s gone to shit? It was like he was cosmic glue or something,” he mused regarding Bowie’s passing. “When he died, everything fell apart. So, yeah, I miss him.” (Editor’s note: ten days after Bowie’s death, Donald Trump was sworn in for his first term as president.)

The pair’s friendship was well documented, with Oldman delivering a heartfelt tribute while accepting Bowie’s posthumous Icon Award during the 2016 BRIT Awards shortly after the singer’s death. Watch the acceptance speech below.

In 2017, Oldman curated a special tribute to what would have been the Starman’s 70th birthday. Held at the Brixton Academy in London, Oldman performed a pair of Bowie classics (“Dead Man Walking” and “The Man Who Sold the World”) at the show, which also saw appearances from artists including Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, members of Spandau Ballet, La Roux, and more.

Oldman performed Tin Machine’s “I Can Read” at a special celebration for Bowie’s 74th birthday in 2021.

The two also collaborated artistically over the years, with both starring in the 1996 biopic, Basquiat. In 2013, Oldman appeared alongside French actress Marion Cotillard in the music video for the title track of Bowie’s 2013 album, The Next Day, which was written and conceived by Bowie, and directed by Floria Sigismondi.

Shudder To Think Embarking On Fall Reunion Tour

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

As expected, Shudder to Think is extending its recent reunion with its first U.S. tour since 2008. The group will play nine shows this fall, beginning Sept. 19 at Riot Fest in Chicago, and will wind its way back to Los Angeles for a Nov. 11 finale. Tickets go on sale Friday (Aug. 22).

Beloved for its influential, unique blend of post-hardcore, alternative rock and glam, Shudder to Think returned to the stage in March with two performances for friends and family at Los Angeles’ tiny Permanent Records. A clip of “X French T-Shirt” from those shows can be seen below. The group’s current lineup includes frontman Craig Wedren, guitarist Nathan Larson, drummer Adam Wade, guitarist Clint Walsh and bassist Jherek Bischoff.

After emerging on legendary D.C. indie label Dischord Records with classics such as Funeral at the Movies and Get Your Goat, Shudder to Think signed to Epic and in 1994 released one of the strangest major-label debut albums of all time, Pony Express Record. Following an uneven response to its 1997 follow-up, 50,000 B.C., the band split up. But as Wedren told SPIN earlier this year, new music is also in the works to complement the live shows.

“We’re trying to do this in a very organic way that works for everybody’s individual lives and collective health,” he said. “We’re going to keep working on new music together in a room and each in our separate corners. We have shared ProTools sessions where we record demos together, but then everybody can tweak ideas on their own. It’s a more multi-dimensional, accordion-esque creative process rather than just being in a room, working on the song, playing the songs live and recording the songs. The intention is to hopefully have a record done within a year from now — next summer or fall or something like that. If it winds up being a series of EPs or singles, it doesn’t really matter. We just want to make new Shudder to Think music together, and we’re documenting it all.”

Here are Shudder to Think’s tour dates:

Sep 19: Chicago, IL – Riot Fest
Sep 19: Chicago, IL – Cobra Lounge
Oct 23: Boston, MA – Sonia
Oct 24: Washington, DC – Black Cat
Oct 25: New York, NY – Mercury Lounge
Nov 7: Portland, OR – Star Theater
Nov 8: Seattle, WA – Barboza
Nov 10: San Francisco, CA – Brick & Mortar Music Hall
Nov 11: Los Angeles, CA – Lodge Room Highland Park

Fat Joe Lied About Collaborative Album With Biggie, Says Lance Rivera

Fat Joe Lied About Collaborative Album With Biggie, Says Lance Rivera

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Lance “Un” Rivera, a close confidant and former business partner of The Notorious B.I.G., is calling “cap” on Fat Joe’s recent claims that he and Biggie were working on a full collaborative album before the rap legend’s tragic death in 1997.

In a new interview with The Art of Dialogue, Rivera addressed Joe’s assertion head-on, expressing skepticism and a touch of humor while firmly questioning the validity of the Bronx rapper’s story.

“I love Fat Joe, Fat Joe is my guy. I love the Jada & Joe show, and now I know why they’re running with the ‘Joe is the King of Cap,’” Rivera joked.

“Imma call cap, without even knowing, ’cause I don’t know for sure, but I’m calling cap […] If there was a real, legitimate album, I would’ve heard about that. I wouldn’t have heard about them doing songs.”

Rivera, who founded Untertainment Records and worked closely with Biggie on multiple projects, noted that even hearing about a few casual tracks between the two would have raised eyebrows.

“And I wouldn’t have heard about them doing songs together, right? Because in Daddy’s House, Big go in the studio, you could get a verse or you might not get a verse, depending on his mood and how much money you had in your pocket. He was a ‘How much weed you got on you’ type sh*t, you know what I’m saying? But I call cap off that, Joe. Show me the receipts, Fat Joe.”

Fat Joe, for his part, previously shared in a 2023 interview that he and Biggie recorded several songs that were ultimately shelved—possibly destroyed—because the lyrics included disses toward 2Pac. With both icons later dying in the midst of their feud, Joe claims he chose to scrap the recordings out of respect.

“We made a bunch of songs, y’know what I’m sayin’?” Joe said. “But it was like really disrespectful and hateful and so [Biggie] died and 2Pac died. They might have burnt them sh*ts, to be honest with you, ’cause you know, it was distasteful after the fact.”

While fans would undoubtedly love to hear unreleased music from the legendary Brooklyn emcee, Rivera’s remarks have now added fuel to the fire of uncertainty—and cast a long shadow over the legitimacy of Joe’s bold claims.

Blue Note Los Angeles Grand Opening Weekend: Recap

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Blue Note Los Angeles will quickly become the go-to spot for you, your faves, and theirs, too.

The lounge formally opened its doors on Thursday (Aug. 14) with back-to-back jam sessions starring Robert Glasper and friends. During the second show of night one, Affion Crockett, D Smoke, and Shock G‘s protégé, Young Hump, all took to the stage to welcome guests with delightful, impromptu performances.

Crockett impersonated JAY-Z and later freestyled a few bars: “I ain’t revealing who the killer is/ And who the most responsible villain […] I ain’t wishing death on nobody/ I’m wishing remission/ That we go back to the day of Special Ed and the mission […] Need to get a respirator/ Maybe hook ’em to phonics/ So, we can clean up the bulls**t/ Hip-Hop needs a colonic…”

When D Smoke took the stage, he reminded the audience, “This is not some planned s**t by any means.” He wound up performing “Shine” and praised the brilliance of his cousin, Tiffany Gouché. Throughout the weekend, other special guests included Aja Monét, Quinta Brunson, Omar J. Dorsey, Vic Mensa, Buddy, and more.

For the famed musician and Creative Ambassador of the venue, Glasper gushed on Instagram, “I’m still floating from the grand opening of @bluenotelosangeles on Sunset! What a moment. What a MOMENT. The energy in that room was pure magic — from the first note to the last, we had something special brewing. Blue Note LA officially opened its doors on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood on Thursday, Aug. 14, and to be the one to christen this legendary space in LA? Man, that’s not lost on me.”

He continued, “The West Coast needed this. Music needed this. WE needed this. Being a creative ambassador for Blue Note LA isn’t just an honor— it’s a responsibility I take seriously. This isn’t just another venue, this is a sanctuary for the culture. Shoutout to every single soul that came through – the musicians, the lovers of music, the family, the friends. Y’all made that room LIVE. The connection was real, the vibes were immaculate, and the music… chef’s kiss. This is just the beginning, LA. We bout to do some beautiful things in this space. The lineage continues, the story keeps writing itself, and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”

Alex Isley kicked off the stacked lineup with four shows across two nights. Upcoming performers include Emily King, Terrace Martin, Kenyon Dixon, Tank and The Bangas, Andra Day, BJ The Chicago Kid, José James, and Kamasi Washington. The full list can be found on Blue Note LA’s official website.

Chance the Rapper: Star Line Album Review

Chance the Rapper: Star Line Album Review

by jummy84 August 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Chance doesn’t seem at ease putting it all out there, which, in a twisted way, only makes me want it more. With his usual mix of sun-kissed melodies and squawking ad-libs, inoffensively sweeping soul beats with gospel touches by his usual production braintrust, he opens up just enough to get the internet off his back. “Some days I just ghost her, some days I’m supposed to/The crib feel like a gunfight, but them strollers, that’s the holster,” he raps on “The Highs & Lows,” the easygoing piano-led beat allows his words to breathe. He sounds a little lonely and sad, like he’s skipping rocks at the lake on “Back to the Go,” as he thinks about the effect his relationship falling apart will have on his kids and having to spend his days in a bachelor pad. It’s his most direct writing and, unfortunately, it’s done over a rock-rap instrumental that sounds like it was ripped from a 2DopeBoyz blog post.

There’s a suggestion that his self-esteem has taken a hit on “Pretty,” where, over a vocal sample pitched-up to Heatmakerz levels, he works through his insecurities in real time: “My mom told me I’m a nice person/I got left but maybe I ain’t find the right person/I got clean, maybe I ain’t get the right version.” There are a few striking moments like these where Chance allows himself to feel unconsciously exposed. But most of the time, it feels like you’re hearing Chance’s emotions once they’ve already been self-consciously processed, which is less personal and interesting. For example, “Space & Time,” a bland and distant ballad where he builds up the maturity to face the crib where he thought he’d raise a family, sounds straight off the Lion King soundtrack.

It’s human to be tentative when writing about intimate experiences, but Chance rarely lets those bits of pure feeling slip through the cracks. His writing feels heavily combed over, and though he calls himself an “emotional rollercoaster,” I only get that because he said so. Otherwise he doesn’t allow himself to be potentially picked apart or embarrassed, like on Acid Rap when he downplays his Blackness to girls in an attempt to get laid. Chance would rather cloak his feelings in his reliable wordplay (“You know it’s dirty when the sink dirty,” he raps on “Negro Problem”) or shift the focus away from his relationship entirely. “No More Old Men,” with longtime collaborator Jamila Woods, is his sweet spot, vividly describing childhood memories (the familial vibe of the barbershop; his uncles on the block drinking beers and betting on boxing matches) as a way of messaging the lack of male mentors in his hometown nowadays. As well as “Letters,” where he calls out the unholy actions of both his local parish and Joel Osteen-style megachurches. Both are solid and impassioned Chance the Rapper songs—he’s bending his voice, toggling between moods—that show the totality of what’s on his mind, but I feel his message more than I actually want to listen to him on the same frictionless, loungey beats that haven’t sounded fresh in a decade.

It’s frustrating that the main goal of Star Line seems to be for Chance to reset the board without getting shit on. That’s an uninspired mission that mostly relies on Chance reverting back to his corny writing exercises (the greek mythology bit on “Space & Time”), trusted lighthearted stoner anthems (“Tree”), and knack for bringing a cross-generational cast of likable characters into his world like he did on Coloring Book: Some work (DJ Pharris’ drop on the intro; BabyChiefDoit’s foul-mouthed drill punchlines; Do or Die’s welcomed nostalgia tour) and some don’t (Lil Wayne in 2025; stale BJ the Chicago Kid parts; a Jay Electronica verse that sounds like it was recorded in a Rothschild family dungeon). It’s rarely bad, just safe, doing more to remind us of the old days than to embrace the musical crossroads he’s at. That feels like a missed opportunity to fill in the blanks that are still there.

And my labour shall commence next month

by jummy84 August 20, 2025

FKA Twigs has announced a new album, ‘EUSEXUA Afterglow’. Find all the details below.

  • READ MORE: FKA Twigs – ‘Eusexua’ review: a lust-fuelled insight into what it is to be human

This weekend, the NME Godlike Genius recipient played the final show of her summer European tour at the Netherlands’ Lowlands Festival.

During her set, she teased an upcoming new album, saying: “New music – I am full and abundant and ready to give birth. Her name is ‘Afterglow’. And my labour shall commence next month.”

According to a report from Stereogum, the album is actually called ‘EUSEXUA Afterglow’, and is reportedly an entirely new album, rather than a deluxe edition, which has previously been speculated.

— Pop Base (@PopBase) August 16, 2025

Last month, Twigs shared the uptempo dance-pop track ‘Perfectly’, which is thought to also be from the new album.

In a five-star review of ‘Eusexua’, NME wrote: “Twigs has successfully shown that the connection of music, movement, mind, soul and body can be converted into sound, weaving these elements into a cohesive and transcendent artistic experience. She brings her own assured sense of creativity and spirituality and combines it with her ability to materialise the intangible. As the album’s closing track says, “You’ve one life to live, do it freely”. What better note to leave it on?”

Her recent European shows followed Twigs dropping out of Coachella last minute, along with other US tour dates, with her explaining: “I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform.”

She has since told fans that one day she would explain “all the tea that’s led to this craziness.”

The singer brought ‘Eusexua’ to London back in March, where NME scored the show a four-star review: “Dancers hang chains connected to her dress to all four corners of the box and every spotlight is rigged onto her; Twigs has no choice but to bare her soul to the crowd.

“To end the set with a song that expresses such spiritual suffering with some of the most magnificent vocals is truly brave; every tremble and crack in her voice is deeply felt, and it’s the most connected we feel to her all night. Now that’s ‘Eusexua’.”

In other news, she’s reportedly in negotiations to portray groundbreaking singer and actress Josephine Baker in a new biopic, and recently made a surprise appearance with Rosé at BLACKPINK‘s first show at Wembley Stadium.
