Queen Are “Having Conversations” About Sphere Residency

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Guitarist Brian May says the current incarnation of Queen is “having conversations” about playing a residency at Las Vegas’ futuristic venue Sphere.

Over the past 15 years, the legendary act has been performing as Queen + Adam Lambert, with classic members May and drummer Roger Taylor joined by the onetime American Idol contestant on vocals.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, May said he was very impressed by The Eagles’ residency at Sphere, which was just extended into January 2026.

”I was blown away,” said May of seeing The Eagles’ concert at the venue. “It’s one of the best shows I’ve ever seen in my life. Such a wonderful marriage of sound and wonderful music and incredible visual contact content. And yeah, it’s got my mind working.”

He added, “ I’m very keen on the Sphere … I sat there watching The Eagles, thinking, ‘We should do this. The stuff that we could bring to this would be stupendous.’ So, yeah, I would like to do it. We’re having conversations.”

The 78-year-old guitarist went on to say that Sphere would present an ideal situation for him, as he no longer envisions himself embarking on extensive tours at this point in his career.

“ I’ve had 50 years of touring, and there’s a part of me that thinks it’s enough,” explained May. “I don’t like the idea that you wake up in your hotel room and you’re trapped. I had a few experiences recently where stuff happened at home with my family and I could not go home. It got under my skin and I just thought, ‘I’m not sure if I want this anymore.’ I feel like I’ve given up my freedom too many times. So my feeling at the moment is I don’t want to tour as such. I still want to play shows. I still want to innovate.”

As part of Rolling Stone‘s larger cover story on the 50th anniversary on the classic song “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Roger Taylor also weighed in on the band’s future, saying, “I don’t think we’re done. And I don’t think we’re gonna say, you know, final farewell tour or whatever. ’Cause it never is, is it?”

Four Indie Artists to Follow This Fall

Four Indie Artists to Follow This Fall

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Along with crisp air, colorful leaves, shorter days, and cozy sweaters, the change of season always brings fresh new music. Autumn 2025 is no exception, as we spotlight four rising indie artists carving out their own space with innovative songwriting, distinctive sounds, and tracks you’ll have on repeat well past Thanksgiving. Presented by TuneCore Accelerator, this roundup highlights exceptional acts that deserve a place on your fall playlists.

King Hendrick$

All roads lead home for King Hendrick$. Best known for 2024’s smash street anthem “Leaving the Lot,” the prolific indie rapper hails from Natchitoches and wears his experiences growing up in the central Louisiana town like a badge of honor. With sharp storytelling and unfiltered lines, the Bayou State native’s tenth album in three years is long on wit, grit and honesty. At the heart of ‘Baller Academy (Deluxe)’ lies “They Mobbin’,” a raw, autobiographical track with reflective, jazzy instrumentation. The sparsely arranged “Risked My Life To Floss” is an equally compelling highlight. Throughout the project, Hendrick$ ponders the challenges of the grind. Yet for all his insight about the harsh realities of the world, King recognizes the need to balance bravado with levity.   “I wake up and bake up instantly” he proudly proclaims at the outset of “Cowhide Boots,” a welcome party ode and one of the unquestionable peaks of his latest release.

DUUNES (Photo by Nikolasi Saafi)

DUUNES

It makes sense that NYC alt-rocker DUUNES (a.k.a. Harrison Cohen) was weaned on bands like The Killers, Kings of Leon, Young the Giant and Cage the Elephant. After all, his kick-ass viral rendition of the latter’s “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked” amassed over 25 million views across Tik Tok, YouTube and Instagram. But Cohen’s penchant for crafting original songs with big choruses and undeniable hooks goes far beyond his good taste in covers. Alternative music lovers will want to get acquainted with winners like “Ballerina Fingers,” his punchy and powerful ode to drug-addled passion. And DUUNES’ edgy new earworm, “One Hand Clap,” should only help his ascent. Harrison’s songs have even graced the airwaves of WFUV and he was recently handpicked by indie sensation Joe P to support that beloved radio station’s Racket NYC showcase. With dynamic sold-out live shows in Manhattan and Boston under his belt and more East Coast, Midwest and Pacific Coast dates on the horizon, now is the time to dig into DUNNES.

Låpsley

Revered indie artist Låpsley first rose to prominence as a teenager on the strength of her 2016 debut album ‘Long Way Home’ – which featured the hits “Hurt Me” and “Operator.” Subsequent offerings like 2020’s ‘Through Water’ and 2023’s ‘Cautionary Tales of Youth’ saw her evolve and become more assertive not only musically, but as an outspoken queer artist documenting her stormy coming-of-age experiences while standing up for climate issues. As a songwriter, Låpsley also penned popular tunes for other artists like Barry Can’t Swim, ODESZA, and Paloma Faith and delivered a platinum hit for Joel Corry (“Out Out”). Now she’s back with ‘I’M A HURRICANE I’M A WOMAN IN LOVE.’ Her stunning new deluxe album counts the haunting, self-assured single “Sound of Silence,” the downright contagious bop “Woman Like That” and her heartfelt, can’t-miss ballad “Featherweight Champion of the World.”

CRAY (Photo by @brxn)

CRAY

Los Angeles based artist and producer CRAY – short for Cheney Ray – first made a name for herself a decade ago as a passionate gamer on Twitch. A love of electronic music prompted her to pivot to DJ work, where she found success thanks to epic sets at events like HARD Summer and Electric Zoo. Tours with Skrillex and headlining dates in Australia followed and gave way to her own original songs, including memorable singles like 2016’s “4never,” 2018’s “Fractions” and 2019’s “…eat your heart out.” While her COVID-era offerings like “Mean Girls,” “Mommy’s Boy” “Kids” and “Don’t Trust Me” marked a shift into punk/pop terrain, CRAY’s adventurous spirit has since spawned a distinct and electrifying new sound. Case in point is “Till Death,” which has a suggestive and sinister vibe. CRAY says the groundbreaking, genre-bending single was “inspired by our favorite enemies-to-lovers books.”

Kanye West Documentary ‘In Whose Name?’ Brings In Big Revenue

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Ye may be at his peak controversially, but people are still invested in his life and story. In Whose Name?, the documentary about some of his most chaotic years, recently brought in big revenue despite not having a traditional marketing rollout.

The film, directed by Nico Ballesteros, made $776,000 in its opening weekend, a huge feat as it was not heavily promoted and was only available in 1,000 theaters across the country. Nonetheless, its inclusion of raw footage and an in-depth look at the Chicago producer’s trying times was more than enough to convince people to go see it.

The documentary covers moments such as his “White Lives Matter” shirt era, his periods of antisemitism, the collapse of his relationship with Kim Kardashian, the Sunday Service era, and more. One clip in particular, where he lashed out at Kris Jenner, circulated on the internet and drew people to see the film even more.

“I’d rather be dead than to be on medication,” the artist formerly known as Kanye West exclaimed in the clip. Later, he yells, “No one in the family has taken responsibility for my hospital visit, but if you want to go online, that’s 50% of what people say at least!”

Jenner tried to tell him that doesn’t matter, and he exploded on her. “It does matter!” he repeated at the top of his lungs before grabbing his belongings and storming out. “It doesn’t matter what the internet says, it matters what we think, Ye,” Jenner said while he exited. He eventually came back and she expressed her love for him, her sympathy for impacting his mental health, and how she wanted his relationship with Kim K to be.

AllHipHop reported that Ballesteros and his team plan to widen the scope of the film’s cinematic reach and eventually get it onto streaming platforms. For now, watch the trailer below.

Stagecoach Festival 2026 Lineup Announced: Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, and More

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

The 2026 lineup for the Stagecoach country music festival is here. Headlining the weekend are Texas country singer Cody Johnson, Louisana’s Lainey Wilson, and F-1 Trillion artist Post Malone. The California festival will also feature legacy acts like Counting Crows, Wynonna, Lyle Lovett, Journey, Third Eye Blind, Bush, the Wallflowers, Brooks & Dunn, and Hootie & the Blowfish, along with newcomers like BigXthaPlug, Bailey Zimmerman, Warren Zeiders, Teddy Swims, and Gavin Adcock, and artists who don’t necessarily specialize in country much, such as Noah Cyrus, Diplo, Pitbull, and Ludacris. See the full lineup in the poster below.

Stagecoach is producer Goldenvoice’s country complement to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The festivals share a venue—the Empire Polo Club, in Indio, California—and typically take place the same month. Coachella, in 2026, will run during the weekends of April 10-12 and April 17-19. Stagecoach takes place from April 24-26.

Dutch independent radio stations announce 15-hour broadcast in to raise money for Palestine

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Ten independent Dutch radio stations are joining forces for a special 15-hour broadcast to raise money for Palestine. Find all the details below.

The live-stream, dubbed ‘Transmission For Palestine’, is set to air between 10am local time on Sunday (September 28) and 1am on Monday (29).

Listeners will be able to tune into special programming on Radio Radio, Echobox, Folder FM, Pip Radio, Future Intel, Operator, Maxi Radio, Radio Hinter, Open Source Radio and Relate Radio.

Organisers said fans can attend an in-person “community event” over the 15 hours, where they can enjoy music, drinks and food. “You might even get a prize in our raffle!” they added. “You can get lucky with club tickets, gift cards, merch, records, and much more.”

The event is open to the public on a donation basis, with all proceeds going directly to Dutch charity Plant een Olijfboom.

Per the listing, the organisation “supports Palestinian people with essentials like blankets, clothes, water, food and medicine, while also working to raise awareness in the Netherlands about the occupation and colonisation of Palestinian land by Israel and the reality of living in Palestine”.

Those who are unable to attend in person can make a donation online in the run-up to the broadcast, and via the live-stream itself.

“Bring your friends, show up and support!” organisers added. You’ll be able to listen to ‘Transmission For Palestine’ here.

Last week saw Brian Eno host his huge ‘Together For Palestine’ charity show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley. The event featured performances from Damon Albarn, Paul Weller, Cat Burns, Rachel Chinouriri, Yasiin Bey, Bastille’s Dan Smith and more. Presenters on the night included Eric Cantona, PinkPantheress, Richard Gere, Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh and Nicola Coughlan.

The concert, which was also available as a livestream, raised just under £1.5million for the ‘Together For Palestine Fund’. This will be distributed to Palestinian-led organisations such as Taawon, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and Palestine Medical Relief Service.

Speaking to NME at the gig, Eno said he “doesn’t blame” those feeling helpless about the ongoing situation in Palestine. However, he called on music fans to always have hope that change is possible with enough solidarity and conversation.

“Don’t be hopeless. You are in the middle of the biggest social movement in human history,” Eno assured. Watch the video interview in full above.

Lainey Wilson, Post Malone Headline

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

The 2026 Stagecoach lineup is here. Lainey Wilson, Post Malone, and Cody Johnson will each headline a night of the three-day country music festival, set for April 24 through 26 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Wilson last played the festival in 2023, but this will be her first time as headliner. This also marks Johnson’s debut as a Stagecoach headliner. Malone made his Stagecoach debut in 2024, performing a set of country music cover songs. Presumably, he’ll be showcasing his own material off his country album F-1 Trillion next spring in the desert.

The Stagecoach undercard is traditionally well stocked, and 2026 is no exception. Bailey Zimmerman, Riley Green, Ella Langley, Little Big Town, Red Clay Strays, Warren Zeiders, Teddy Swims, Sam Barber, Wyatt Flores, Nate Smith, Hudson Westbrook, and Brooks & Dunn are all on the bill. There are also a number of non-country acts set for ’26, including Journey, Pitbull, and Ludacris. Perennial Stagecoach personalities Diplo and Guy Fieri will also make their return.

There’s a heavy presence of Nineties bands too: Hootie and the Blowfish, Bush, Third Eye Blind, the Wallflowers, and Counting Crows are all set to perform.

Trending Stories

Country music’s premier agitator, Gavin Adcock, is also on the lineup. Last year’s Stagecoach was headlined by his foil, Zach Bryan.

Stagecoach 2026 passes go on sale Thursday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m./PT via the festival’s website.

Cardi B’s ‘Am I the Drama?’ Rollout Report Card: Podcast Grades

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

In 2018, Cardi B aced just about every aspect of her first career album rollout. Invasion of Privacy was released to rave reviews, spawned another immediate smash in the J Balvin and Bad Bunny collab “I Like It,” debuted atop the Billboard 200 and eventually won a Grammy for best rap album. Her videos were iconic, as were her interviews, and the deep cuts on the album were just as rewarding as the big hits, all of which fit together perfectly. It was a borderline-perfect album era — one that, perhaps unsurprisingly, took her seven years to even attempt to follow up.

With this Rollout Report Card episode, host Andrew Unterberger is joined by Billboard staffers Kyle Denis and Emily Fuentes as we look at everything surrounding Am I the Drama? — both in the seven years that separated it and Invasion, and now the three months since its actual announcement. We attempt to grade all aspects of the rollout, and whether or not the longest-anticipated album in recent pop or hip-hop memory (and Cardi’s tireless promotion of it) managed to live up to our expectations.

As we hand out our letter grades for all the most important factors in Cardi’s Am I the Drama rollout — from the live performances and music videos to the new songs and overall “albuminess” — , we answer all the most pressing questions about the Drama: Did Cardi need a bigger budget for some of her music videos? Which of the album’s advance singles deserved a better reception than they got? Why didn’t we get any official live performances on this album cycle? Should Kelly Rowland have her own talk show? Is it possibly to have an album-y 23-track LP that ends with two half-decade-old singles? How do we feel about Lizzo doing 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up” karaoke? And perhaps most importantly: After seven years, does it feel like Cardi B is officially, properly back?

Check it out above — along with a YouTube playlist of some of the most important moments from this fascinating album campaign, all of which are discussed in the podcast — and subscribe to the Greatest Pop Stars podcast on Apple Music or Spotify (or wherever you get your podcasts) for weekly discussions every Thursday about all things related to pop stardom!

Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil Had Three Strokes Leading Up to the “Big One”

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Earlier this month, Mötley Crüe singer Vince Neil revealed that he suffered a stroke last Christmas, leading to the band postponing its planned Las Vegas residency. Now, the veteran rocker has disclosed that he actually had three other strokes leading up to the “big one.”

Mötley Crüe are currently in the midst of the rescheduled residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, running through an October 3rd show (tickets available here). The concerts were originally slated to take place this past spring, but were postponed due to an at-the-time undisclosed medical issue affecting Neil.

In his interview with the Las Vegas-Review Journal a couple weeks ago, Neil revealed, “I had a stroke. My whole left side went out… I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough. The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again.”

In a new conversation with SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), Neil shared more details about his medical battle, saying he may have recovered a lot sooner had he caught the “big” stroke sooner.

“It was Christmas night, and I went to sleep,” recalled Neil. “I woke up and I couldn’t get out of bed. I’m, like, ‘What’s going on?’ And my left leg wouldn’t work, and my left arm wouldn’t work. So I had to get help out of bed. I couldn’t push myself up to get myself comfortable in bed. And I had to have help. And slowly but surely, the sensation came back in my legs.”

He continued, “[My then-girlfriend] Rain has an aunt who’s a nurse, and she called her aunt, and she said, ‘This is what’s going on with Vince,’ and [her aunt] goes, ‘He’s had a stroke.’ And by then it was just too late to go to the hospital because you have to get [there] within, like, 12 hours or something. And I was just kind of, like, ‘Oh, it’s gonna go away. It’s gonna go away.’ … I thought, ‘Oh, well, it’ll come back in a little bit.’ But it didn’t. Yeah, that was the hard part. Then I went to the hospital. They said I had a stroke, and they go, ‘We can’t do anything for you now because you’ve already had it and you’ve gone past that time’ where they give you this drug — it makes it so you’re not numb on the side.”

As for what caused the stroke, Neil explained, “Well, they said that I had a blood clot in my leg that ran up through to my brain. And they showed me — I had a neurologist come out and they took x-rays and stuff, and you see I had scars in my brain. [And they said], ‘See that’s where you had a stroke.’”

The singer also found out that he’s actually had “four strokes throughout the years. Two of ’em I didn’t even know I had. One of ’em was a mini stroke that happened and I just lost feeling in my hand. And that was it. And I got over that pretty quickly. But then this last one, it was a big one.”

Asked by Trunk about how doctors knew he had four strokes, Neil responded, “Because they could see it in your brain. It’s scarred right around the same spot. I had four scars in my brain, and the neurologist said those are all strokes.”

Neil, who’s father died of a stroke in 2021, went through months of physical therapy to get back onstage. He performed a solo show in early August, and is currently rocking at “95 percent” with Mötley Crüe as they continue their Vegas residency. “There’s things that I can’t do on stage still,” he noted. “It’s hard to run back and forth on that stage. That stage is so huge. But I’m getting used to it.”

See a clip from Vince Neil’s interview with Eddie Trunk below.

Release Roundup: Goldfrapp, Rolling Stones, Ramsey/Broemel

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

** U.K. duo Goldfrapp‘s 2005 album Supernature will be reborn this fall in a 20th anniversary edition loaded with remixes, rarities and unreleased live radio session recordings. The set is due Nov. 21 from Mute/BMG and is led by a new remix of “You Never Know” by Goldfrapp’s Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory. Remixes by Richard X, Sun’s Signature (Cocteau Twins‘ Liz Fraser and Massive Attack/Spiritualized collaborator Damon Reece), DFA and the Flaming Lips.

Supernature was Goldfrapp’s worldwide breakthrough following two prior studio albums and debuted at No. 2 on the U.K. charts. It spawned four hit singles there, including “Ooh La La,” which reached No. 4. The group has largely been on hiatus since 2022 while working on solo projects.

** Ahead of a milestone birthday of its own, the Rolling Stones‘ chart-topping 1976 album Black and Blue has been refurbished for a Super Deluxe Boxed Set edition coming Nov. 14 from Interscope/UMe. The group’s 13th studio effort, it marked the transition from lead guitarist Mick Taylor to eventual replacement Ronnie Wood, with axemen Harvey Mandel, Wayne Perkins, Jeff Beck and Robert A. Johnson lending a hand in the studio as well.

Black and Blue is best known for songs such as “Fool To Cry,” “Hot Stuff” and “Memory Motel.” It’s expanded here with the unreleased Mick Jagger/Keith Richards original “I Love Ladies,” a cover of Shirley & Company’s “Shame, Shame, Shame” and four instrumental jams with the aforementioned guest guitarists. The package is rounded out by a 1976 concert at London’s Earl’s Court and a previously unreleased TV broadcast of another show from that year at Les Abattoirs in Paris. A new video for “Shame, Shame, Shame” directed by Camille Boumans premieres tomorrow (Sept. 25).

** After touring together in 2019, singer/songwriter Tyler Ramsey and My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel have teamed for their first album, Celestun, which will be out Jan. 15 on their own Duo Quest imprint. The project is described as a “predominantly instrumental song cycle recorded almost entirely on acoustic guitars,” the first fruit of which can be heard via the title track and “Nevermind.”

“We just mesh together in a way that I can’t even really explain,” says Ramsey. “I feel like there’s some magical connection between our two things. It just makes me smile and satisfies some itch as far as things that I would like to hear on the music that I write. I think he feels the same way about what I do. When I put a part to one of his songs, we both have this feeling like that was exactly what was missing.”

Ramsey and Broemel will perform together Jan. 23 at the Folk Alliance International Conference in New Orleans, with additional shows to be announced.

Teyana Taylor Gets Giddy While Discussing Aaron Pierre

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Aaron Pierre is Teyana Taylor‘s “prize” and “apple pie.”

The singer and star of One Battle After Another recently appeared on Sherri to discuss her leading man and leading role. Following her divorce from Iman Shumpert, Taylor gushed over her new love.

Host Sherri Shepherd teased, “Aaron Pierre was our fantasy,” and for Taylor, he was hers, too. “Luther said, ‘Never too much,’” she quipped about how well it’s going between them. She even broke out into song. “Never too much apple pie,” Taylor joked.

On a more serious note, the Escape Room singer confessed, “I feel good. It feels good to feel good.” Taylor then offered up some advice to single women on their own journey for love: “I think the most important thing is— no matter where you come from, whether it’s a heartbreak or whatever, I think the best thing is to be willing to love unarmored. If you’re willing to come with a wall built, it’ll block your blessings, and who that [new] person may not be what that [old] person was.”

Regarding her own path in love, Taylor shared, “I walk a straight line unarmored and I walk a straight line ready to receive whatever is mine to hold.”

Later in the segment, Shepherd asked Taylor about working with Leonardo DiCaprio, particularly for their steamy sex scenes. In regard to that, Taylor called it a “job.”

She laughed and said, “Babe, did you see my apple pie? My eyes is on my prize!” Shepherd praised Taylor’s loyalty to her man.

Taylor added, “When I step on set, I’m here to do a job. I’m a team player. We’re all players on this team and we’re here to win. We’re here to make magic. [It’s like] when the whistle blows, it’s time to get to work and I get to work. Then, I go my a** home.”

She noted that both she and Pierre are “very secure,” explaining, “When we know what the prize is, we’re not worried about if anybody is stepping outside of that prize tryna look for another one. We’re not worried about that. I have a very secure support system, and so does he, and I think that’s all it’s about. Understanding that this is work and this is love.”
