Cardi B Scores Second No. 1 on Billboard 200 With ‘AM I THE DRAMA?’

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Cardi B scores her second No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart as AM I THE DRAMA? debuts atop the tally (dated Oct. 4) with 200,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending Sept. 25, according to Luminate. That marks 2025’s biggest week for an R&B/hip-hop album by a woman. AM I THE DRAMA? is Cardi B’s second full-length studio project, and follows her chart-topping debut, Invasion of Privacy, in 2018.

Also in the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200, Nine Inch Nails’ soundtrack to TRON: Ares debuts at No. 5, marking the first top 10 for the band since 2013.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Oct. 4, 2025-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Sept. 30. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.

Of AM I THE DRAMA?’s 200,000 first-week equivalent album units, SEA units comprise 110,000 (equaling 145.72 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs during the tracking week — it also debuts at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales comprise 88,000 (it debuts at No. 1 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units comprise 2,000.

AM I THE DRAMA?’s opening-week sales were boosted by its availability across an array of permutations. It was issued as a standard 19-song widely available digital download album; 20-song CD and vinyl editions; and a 23-song download and streaming edition. There were also further digital variants: an iTunes Store and Apple Music edition with bonus live video tracks, a 30-track artist webstore-exclusive edition and two widely available expanded editions (with 24 tracks each).

The CD and vinyl variants for AM I THE DRAMA? were largely only available through Cardi B’s webstore and through some independent record stores. AM I THE DRAMA? was issued on two standard CD variants (one signed by the artist), seven additional CD cover variants (four of them signed, inclusive of three versions with cover art showing gone-viral photos of the artist on the stand during her assault trial in August, dubbed the “courtroom edition”) and eight deluxe CD boxed sets containing merchandise and a CD. The album was also issued on two standard vinyl editions (one signed) and nine additional vinyl variants (some with different covers and/or color vinyl, most of them signed, including a “courtroom edition” cover variant).

In addition to a typical promotional press run to raise awareness of the album’s release, the artist also mounted a busy schedule of in-store appearances during release week, doing photo ops and meet-and-greets with fans purchasing the album. During release week, she hit four independent record stores (Looney Tunes in West Babylon, N.Y.; Spin Me Round in Easton, Pa.; DBS Sounds in Riverdale, Ga.; and Fingerprints in Long Beach, Calif.) and a Hot Topic location in Elmhurst, N.Y. and a Walmart in Cypress, Texas.

The widely available editions of AM I THE DRAMA? contain the Billboard Hot 100-charted hits “Outside” (No. 10 peak in July), “Imaginary Playerz” (No. 70 in August), “Up” (No. 1 in March 2021) and “WAP” (featuring Megan Thee Stallion, No. 1 in August 2020).

The chart-topping KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack holds at No. 2 with 104,000 equivalent album units earned (down 7%). The set also notches a 10th week inside the top two on the Billboard 200, marking the most weeks inside the top two for a soundtrack since the Frozen album logged 21 nonconsecutive frames in the top two (13 of them at No. 1) in 2014. KPop surpasses Encanto, which had nine weeks in the top two (all at No. 1) in 2022.

Morgan Wallen’s former No. 1 I’m the Problem is steady at No. 3 (90,000 equivalent album units, down 7%) and Sabrina Carpenter’s chart-topping Man’s Best Friend is stationary at No. 4 (69,000, down 21%).

Nine Inch Nails are back in the Billboard 200’s top 10 for the first time in over a decade, as the band’s soundtrack to the film TRON: Ares debuts at No. 5 (the highest debut of 2025 for a soundtrack) with 45,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, album sales comprise 39,000 (it debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales), SEA units comprise 6,000 (equaling 8.37 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum. Nine Inch Nails have tallied seven top 10 albums on the Billboard 200: TRON: Ares, Hesitation Marks (No. 3 in 2013), Year Zero (No. 2, 2007), With Teeth (No. 1, 2005), The Fragile (No. 1, 1999), The Downward Spiral (No. 2, 1994) and Broken (No. 7, 1992).

The first-week sales of TRON: Ares were aided by its availability across four vinyl variants, a cassette, two CD variants and a download and streaming edition (all containing the same tracklist).

TRON: Ares is the companion soundtrack to the film of the same name, which will be released on Oct. 10 in movie theaters, and is the third in the Tron film series. It follows Tron: Legacy (2010) and Tron (1982). The TRON: Ares soundtrack is the second Tron movie soundtrack to reach the Billboard 200, following Daft Punk’s TRON: Legacy (which peaked at No. 4).

TRON: Ares was preceded by the album’s single “As Alive as You Need Me To Be,” which has reached the top 10 on both Alternative Airplay and Mainstream Rock Airplay.

Also, with KPop Demon Hunters and TRON: Ares at Nos. 2 and 5, there are two soundtracks in the top five simultaneously for the first time in more than six years. It last happened on the March 30, 2019 chart, when Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s chart-topping A Star Is Born was No. 3 and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody was No. 5.

Rounding out the rest of the latest top 10 on the Billboard 200: Alex Warren’s You’ll Be Alright, Kid rises 7-6 (35,000 equivalent album units, down 3%); SZA’s chart-topping SOS climbs 8-7 (33,000, down 2%); Wallen’s former leader One Thing at a Time steps 9-8 (32,000, down 3%); Justin Bieber’s SWAG shifts 6-9 (just under 32,000, down 27%); and Bad Bunny’s former No. 1 DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS climbs 13-10 (nearly 32,000, up 21%).

Björk Joins “No Music for Genocide” Israel Boycott

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Björk is the latest artist to join the “No Music for Genocide” mass Israel boycott, making her catalog of music unavailable on Israeli streaming services.

The Icelandic singer now stands alongside the likes of Massive Attack, Hayley Williams and Paramore, Kneecap, Japanese Breakfast, Fontaines D.C. and hundreds more artists who are currently geo-blocking their music in Israel.

According to the No Music for Genocide website, the initiative’s mission is “in response to Israel’s genocide in Gaza; ethnic cleansing of the Occupied West Bank; apartheid within Israel / ’48; political repression of Pro-Palestine efforts wherever we live; and the music industry’s own ties to weapons and crimes against humanity.”

While Björk has yet to issue a statement about her participation in the Israel boycott, she has shown her support for Palestine in the past, including a November 2023 Instagram post of maps showing territorial changes between Palestine and Israel over the years with the caption, “is this what you call sharing ?”

The singer has let her feelings about the streaming service Spotify be known, calling it “probably the worst thing that has happened to musicians.”

Earlier this year, Björk debuted her concert film Cornucopia in theaters around the world, which will be followed by a physical release next month.

Zach Bryan Breaks U.S. Concert Attendance Record

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Although official numbers are still being confirmed, Zach Bryan broke the record for largest U.S. concert last night (Sept. 27) in front of 112,000 fans at Michigan Stadium on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, Mi., just edging out the 110,905 mark set by George Strait in 2024 in College Station, Tx.

“This might be the craziest thing I’ve ever done,” Bryan told the audience from his in-the-round stage at the first concert ever held at the legendary venue. The 27-song set also featured a guest turn by opening act John Mayer on the Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” and area natives the War & Treaty on their 2023 collaboration “Hey Driver.”

Bryan previously said he would no longer tour in a traditional manner and would instead play special shows like in Ann Arbor from time to time. The artist was also in the news of late for attempting to confront fellow country act Gavin Adcock backstage at an Oklahoma festival.

“Been the worst and best few years of my life,” he wrote on Instagram earlier this week. “So ready for the chapter to end. Gotta go make music fun to myself again. Each day I pray people understand I will never regret a thing and I am proud of myself, my family and my friends. there could be a million assholes who have never had a unique thought in their life preaching a million pounds of negativity and bullshit and it wouldn’t be worth a single soul who’s found strength and shelter in true songwriting and good live performances.”

Metro Boomin Found “Not Liable” In Sexual Assault Case

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Metro Boomin has officially been cleared.

On Thursday (Sept. 25), a Los Angeles court ruled in favor of the Grammy-nominated producer, born Leland T. Wayne, finding him not liable in a civil sexual assault case brought by Vanessa LeMaistre. According to Rolling Stone, the jury unanimously concluded that LeMaistre had not proven that the “Like That” producer assaulted her in 2016 at a Southern California hotel.

“I’m grateful and thankful to God that I can finally put all of this nonsense behind me. Based off of how I treat others and represent myself, never in a million years would I have thought I could be accused of such a disgusting and heinous act,” Metro said in a statement following the verdict.

“Today I took a victory in court but in reality there is a long list of losses I stacked up in this year-long process of clearing my name and reputation,” he continued. “The very large amount of money and time wasted, coupled with the incalculable amount of money and opportunities that did not make it to me or my team during this time. This has been a very difficult time for me and my family.”

The 32-year-old doubled down on maintaining his innocence, saying “From the beginning I have said these allegations were false and that I would not be a part of a shakedown. She attacked who I am as a person and how I was raised, and I could not let her get away with that. I would never do what she accused me of to anyone. I am deeply thankful to my legal team, my loved ones, the jury, and everyone who stood by me. I’m relieved that the truth came out in court.”

LeMaistre, 39, declined to comment after the verdict, according to her lead attorney Michael J. Willemin, who told PEOPLE, “Though the legal system is often stacked against survivors, our client showed unwavering fortitude throughout this trial. We are disappointed in the outcome, but are proud to represent Ms. LeMaistre and believe that the verdict will ultimately be overturned on appeal.”

The case dates back to October 2024, when LeMaistre filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging that she was sexually assaulted and raped by the “Type Sh*t” producer in 2016. She claimed the encounter led to her getting an abortion. She alleged that during a visit to Metro’s studio in California, she ingested a drink he allegedly gave her after taking half a bar of Xanax, then blacked out and later awoke to him sexually assaulting her.

Weeks later, she claimed she was expecting a baby by him and terminated the pregnancy. Metro’s attorneys, however, maintained that the claims were false and he emphasized that he had always used protection during consensual encounters.

During the trial, Metro testified that he had two consensual sexual encounters with LeMaistre in 2016, always with a condom, and firmly denied the allegations. “For her to accuse me of something like this, it’s something I could never fathom. No way in the world,” he told the jury, adding that the loss of his mother to domestic abuse shaped his belief that sexual abusers “should be tortured and killed.”

LeMaistre testified earlier in the day, recounting her grief over losing her newborn son and alleging the incident left her unable to form healthy relationships and disrupted her dream of one day getting married. Defense attorneys highlighted perceived inconsistencies in her story, including journal entries that suggested she had considered intimacy with Metro after the alleged assault and notes from a 2024 Ayahuasca retreat in Peru outlining her plan to publicly accuse him. Her team denied claims that she had altered medical records to connect Metro to her pregnancy.

A clinical psychologist from UCLA, Dr. April Thames, also testified for the defense, diagnosing LeMaistre with “borderline personality disorder with psychotic features.” Thames admitted that the diagnosis had never been formally made before, with prior records listing major depressive disorder.

Watch Dua Lipa cover Ariana Grande’s ‘One Last Time’ at ‘Radical Optimism’ tour stop in Miami

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Dua Lipa covered Ariana Grande‘s ‘One Last Time‘ over the weekend – check out footage below.

  • READ MORE: Dua Lipa – ‘Radical Optimism’ review: summery but slight psych-pop

The singer has been making a habit of covering a song from a local artist at every show on her current ‘Radical Optimism’ World Tour – which kicked off its North American leg at the start of this month.

Saturday night (September 27), saw Lipa play Miami’s Kaseya Center, marking her return to the city after first opening her ‘Future Nostalgia’ tour there in 2022. To mark the occasion, she took on fellow pop star Grande’s track, taken from 2014’s ‘My Everything‘.

Back in 2018, the two joined forces on a track titled ‘Bad To You’, which was ultimately leaked and never officially released. Lipa later praised Wicked star Grande, but explained the collab never got off the ground because of their schedules.

“I love Ari, I love everything she does,” she said at the time. “But the timing wasn’t quite right.” She added that their crammed calendars meant neither singer was able to go back and finish their respective parts.

After clips of her take on ‘One Last Time’ circulated, many were quick to note Lipa seemed to have altered the song to fit her voice, singing the track in a lower register than Grande’s – you can check out footage below.

The tour has also seen big-name artists join Lipa for versions of their own songs. So far, these have included Nile Rodgers for ‘Le Freak‘ in New York City, Chaka Khan for ‘Ain’t Nobody’ in Chicago, Jamiroquai for ‘Virtual Insanity’ in London, Neil Finn for ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ in Auckland, and Kevin Parker for ‘The Less I Know The Better’ in Sydney.

Her two Wembley shows in June later became the subject of a mini-documentary titled Dua Lipa – The Beat Before (Wembley Stadium), which chronicled behind-the-scenes footage and fan vox-pops from the gigs.

In other Dua Lipa-related news, both she and her talent agency recently responded to claims she sacked her agent after he reportedly signed a letter calling for Kneecap to be removed from the Glastonbury line-up.

“It is always Free Palestine,” she wrote. “But exploiting a global tragedy in order to sell newspapers is something I find deeply troubling.”

Lipa has long been outspoken about Palestine. In 2021, she criticised an ad in the New York Times that labelled her, as well as models Bella and Gigi Hadid – both half-Palestinian – as Antisemitic, and, in 2023, was one of a number of celebrities to sign a letter to then-US President Joe Biden calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Last May, she shared her support for the #AllEyesOnRafah campaign in a bid to garner support for people living in cramped refugee camps in the city without humanitarian aid. She wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Burning children alive can never be justified. The whole world is mobilising to stop the Israeli genocide. Please show your solidarity with Gaza. #AllEyesOnRafah.”

A month later, she said she was “willing” to “be met with a backlash” over her comments, describing them as being “for the greater good”.

She’s also pressured Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to take action, being one of over 300 figures to sign Choose Love’s open letter urging him to “end the UK’s complicity in the horrors in Gaza”. Following his response, the non-governmental organisation hit back, saying, “We need actions not words for the children of Gaza.”

Eddie Vedder Covers Devo, Led Zeppelin, More at Ohana Festival: Watch

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Eddie Vedder’s annual Ohana Music Festival kicked off on Friday and the Pearl Jam frontman and the Earthlings headlined the festival’s first of three nights in Dana Point, California. It was the first time in two years he and his Earthlings bandmates — guitarists Andrew Watt, Josh Klinghoffer and Glen Hansard; Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and bassist Chris Chaney — performed together. To mark the occasion, they delivered several covers alongside Earthling and Pearl Jam songs.

They kicked it all off with a cover of Devo’s “Gut Feeling” before launching into Pearl Jam’s “Corduroy.”

During the latter part of their set, which earlier included a cover of the Who’s “I’m One,” the band jammed out Led Zeppelin’s instrumental intro of “The Song Remains the Same” before launching into Pearl Jam’s “Rearviewmirror.” Prior to performing the songs, Vedder shouted out “all the magnificent human beings” that were playing the festival. “Just legends, so many great women on the stages all day today and through the weekend,” he said before giving props to Garbage’s Shirley Manson, Madrid’s Hinds, Jessica Dobson from Deep Sea Diver, Akira Galaxy, and Kim Deal, and he also shouted out his wife and additionally Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O, who was not performing but apparently in the audience.

Following the shout-outs, Vedder shared a story about a high school administrator whose mission he said was “to ruin my life.” But music got him through. “There was this piece of music, and I’ll never forgot where I was or how loud it was, and for some reason, this piece of music — not even the words, nothing — it was like a drug,” Vedder said. “It lifted me up. It was a lift-off. I realized, you know what? Fuck that guy. And someday, he will mean nothing to you,” he said. Later, he added, “We will play this piece of music and I will let it be a reminder that music is power. Music has power. You should be responsible with the power of that music and a voice and a microphone and communicating to people that we trust and we’re grateful they can trust us … This person who had ill will for me? He didn’t win.”

They also performed a medley of the English Beat’s “Save It for Later” and Pearl Jam’s “Better Man” that featured Fitz and the Tantrums’ James King on saxophone.

Trending Stories

They closed with one of Vedder’s perennial covers, Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” featuring a bevy of guests, including Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones and saxophonist King.

Ohana Music Festival continues through Sunday, with Hozier headlining tonight and Green Day closing the event out on Sunday.

Paul McCartney Launches North American Tour with First Performance of “Help!” in 35 Years

by jummy84 September 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Paul McCartney is officially back.

The Beatles legend kicked off his 2025 North American tour as the latest leg of his “Get Back” run on Friday Night night (Sept. 26th) at the relatively intimate Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, California. The 4,562-capacity venue was sold out and a phone-free event. It served as the launch of his first US tour since 2022.

From the opening of the show, McCartney thrilled the audience with a mix of iconic hits, including “Help!” which marked its first performance since 1990. He proceeded to perform classics like “Got to Get You Into My Life” and “Let Me Roll It,” showcasing his deep catalog of Beatles, Wings, and solo work. His rendition of “Getting Better” was followed by the soulful “Let ‘Em In,” while the tender “My Valentine” provided a softer moment in the set. The Wings anthem “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five” had the crowd singing along before McCartney brought out The Beatles’ infectious “I’ve Just Seen a Face” and the timeless “Love Me Do.”

A nod to his quieter, more reflective side came with the haunting “Blackbird,” followed by the moving “Now and Then.” McCartney made sure to keep the Beatles spirit alive with fan favorites like “Lady Madonna,” “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,” and the crowd-pleasing “Get Back.” The evening reached a peak with the soaring “Let It Be,” the explosive “Live and Let Die, and finally, “Hey Jude.”

McCartney’s 2025 tour picks up next week in Palm Desert, followed by shows in Des Moines, Tulsa, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Montreal and more, before closing out with a two-night stand at Chicago’s United Center in late November. Performing with McCartney on this tour is his longtime band: Paul “Wix” Wickens on keyboards, Brian Ray on bass and guitar, Rusty Anderson on guitar and Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums.

Sir Paul was most recently seen with a cameo in mockumentary sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues. He also shows up on the movie’s companion album, with his appearance on a new version of Spinal Tap’s “Cups and Cakes” scoring our Song of the Week earlier this month.

50 Cent‘s plans to further his entertainment endeavors in Shreveport, La., will continue after gaining approval to develop the downtown area of the city from the Shreveport City Council. According to local news outlet KTBS, construction is expected to begin as early as the fourth quarter of this year, or the first quarter of next.

Before the affirmative vote, District A Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor noted, “I think we need to note for the record this is one of the largest economic development deals in this city, in this region, that we’re having.”

The outlet reported that the rapper is investing $50 million from his own pocket, and that the proposed Film and Entertainment Gateway Economic Development District would levy a 2% sales tax inside its boundaries, with all revenue flowing into a dedicated trust fund for redevelopment projects, with rules set for how money could be spent.

“Positive vibes all roads lead to SHREVEPORT art, entertainment, music film&Television,” exclaimed the 50-year-old when sharing the news on Instagram. “let’s work!”

The “Many Men” performer first launched the G-Unit film and television studio in Shreveport back in December 2024, leasing the Millennium Studio.

“We already know that 50 Cent is a mighty mogul in the entertainment business,” Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor said at the time. “But, the residual affects for local businesses here is what’s going to be felt. We have rebranded Shreveport in the entertainment industry, and now we are considering ourselves back again as an entertainment mecca.”

According to Complex, in March of this year, the Shreveport City Council unanimously voted in favor of a 30-year lease agreement between Stageworks Louisiana and the Hip-Hop mogul’s entertainment company.

“I didn’t even know I had to speak,” 50 shared of the news.  “Somebody set me up. … This is exciting, man. I’m really just excited to be able to be here today. It’s important. This project is a legacy project for me. I don’t think I’ve done anything that directly affected as many people as this project will here in Shreveport, and I’m just excited to get to it.”
