“They don’t want the public to see what’s really going on on the inside…” HBO Max has revealed an official trailer for a documentary film titled The Alabama Solution, an extraordinary inside look at the problems within the American prison system. This film premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and also played at Sheffield DocFest. Made by acclaimed doc filmmaker Andrew Jarecki, it is ready to view on HBO Max in October. Composed primarily of contraband cell phone footage taken by incarcerated men at Easterling and other facilities across the state, The Alabama Solution film exposes the inhumane conditions, systemic injustice, and brutal treatment of those behind bars in the Alabama prison system told through their own voices and their own stories. The film expertly weaves the pressing issues of prison privatization, inmate slave labor, abuse of power, government corruption, and extreme violence together to help audiences on the outside get a real sense of the abhorrent conditions of our fellow human beings. Looks very hard to watch – but still an important, necessary, vital example of reporting on the truth even when it’s so extremely rotten.

Through unprecedented direct access and video shot on contraband cell phones, the filmmakers learn from the men inside about a suspicious and violent death. The story unfolds in real time, revealing it isn’t an isolated incident and that the official version appears far from the truth. What follows is a shocking story of brutality, corruption, and a system in collapse. As the men fight for their own survival, they embark on a campaign of resistance, against all odds. A little competition never hurt anyone! Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu first rose to fame after winning Love Island in 2022 and has since become a familiar face on reality television with stints on Dancing on Ice, The Wheel, The Traitors US, Celebrity Big Brother, and Love Island: All Stars.

Now, the British-Turkish actress is taking her talents to Netflix’s new high-stakes series, Inside: USA, and she’s sharing her advice for surviving (and thriving) on TV.

“I’ve always had that fire in me. … I’d describe my competitive spirit as strategic and observant. I love to have fun, but I also want to win,” she tells ET.

Offscreen, the 30-year-old is just as fierce, but her opponents are different.

“I’m competitive with myself more than anything. I’m always pushing to be better, whether that’s in my career or personal life. I love to set big goals and challenge myself. I don’t like to settle until I’ve reached them,” she says.

Since adopting that strong mindset, it’s been easy for Cülcüloğlu to ignore any haters.

“Once you know your worth, the outside chatter doesn’t matter as much. When the comments come in, I try to focus on the positives and the love people send rather than the negativity,” the model notes.

“I’ve learned that you can’t please everyone, and that’s okay. I remind myself that most negativity says more about the person writing it than about me,” she adds.

It lands in theaters in the US starting in October – because it is seriously creepy and they want it to play during horror season. After returning from her first space mission barely surviving re-entry, astronaut Sam Walker is placed under NASA’s care at a high security house for rehab and medical testing isolated out in the woods. However, when disturbing occurrences begin happening around the property, she fears that something extraterrestrial has followed her back to Earth. Is it real or is it just in her head? Or is it something else entirely? 👽 Starring Kate Mara as Sam, Laurence Fishburne, Gabriel Luna, Ivana Milicevic, & Macy Gray. This originally premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival earlier this year. This is a much better trailer than the first look promo we also posted. This looks like an unsettling thriller that will play up the mystery of “what is really going on?!” right up until the last moment. I’m very curious now…

This fun new creation reminds me of the other Netflix movie Slumberland with Jason Momoa, or even Pixar’s Dream Productions series as well, with a similar premise about kids who get into their dreams. In Your Dreams is a comedy adventure about Stevie and her brother Elliot who journey into the absurd landscape of their own dreams. If the siblings can withstand a snarky stuffed giraffe, zombie breakfast foods, and the queen of nightmares, the Sandman will grant them their ultimate dream come true…the perfect family. “What if your dreams could become reality?” This was just unveiled with a preview at the Annecy Film Festival in France. The voice cast features Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Elias Janssen, Craig Robinson, Simu Liu, Cristin Milioti, Omid Djalili, Gia Carides, SungWon Cho, and Zachary Noah Piser. With music from John Debney, animation from Kuku Studios & Sony’s Imageworks. This looks like it should be very wild, zany fun.

After competing in AGT for the first time, Jessica gave American Idol a shot. She auditioned for season 11 and made it through the finals when the judges used their “Judges Save” option to keep her in the competition. Jessica finished season 11 of Idol as the runner-up behind Phillip Phillips.

While competing on AGT in season 20, Jessica was pregnant. Despite the difficulties that come with any pregnancy, the multi-talented artist persevered and won the competition shortly before she was expected to give birth to her child.

“Today, I officially step into my 9th month of pregnancy,” Jessica captioned an Instagram post weeks before the season 20 finale. “My heart is overflowing with gratitude for all the love and kind words that have been pouring in. I never imagined I’d be spending these final weeks of pregnancy away from home, in the middle of such an exciting competition. I truly believe God’s plan is greater than my own. This journey has been so unexpected, yet so beautiful, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Upon returning to the AGT stage, Jessica revealed that she’s been married to her husband, Rickie Gallardo, since 2021.

“In a city divided, they fight for the truth.” Take down the AI! Studiocanal has unveiled an official trailer for the film titled Dog 51, a sci-fi thriller by French filmmaker Cédric Jimenez. It just premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and also played at TIFF, with a release in France starting in October. In the near future, Paris is divided into three zones that separate social classes, and no one can escape ALMA, a predictive AI that has revolutionised law enforcement. When ALMA’s creator is assassinated, Salia, a top agent, and Zem, a jaded cop, are forced to work together to solve a murder that may expose the dark secrets of the system they serve. The movie is the third in Jimenez’s trilogy about cops – with BAC Nord and Novembre. Starring Gilles Lellouche, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Louis Garrel, Romain Duris, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Artus, Lala &ce, Stéphane Bak, and Thomas Bangalter (!!). This reminds me of I, Robot and Minority Report in many ways – very similar premise, very similar ideas about Artificial Intelligence. I can appreciate the world building in this, looks big and flashy and thrilling. Keep an eye out for it in US theaters eventually.

Dog 51, also known as Chien 51 in French, is directed by French filmmaker Cédric Jimenez, director of the films Paris Under Watch, The Connection, The Man with the Iron Heart, and The Stronghold (aka BAC Nord), and November previously. The screenplay is by Olivier Demangel and Cédric Jimenez; based on the novel written by Laurent Gaudé. Produced by Hugo Sélignac. This initially premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival recently. Jimenez’s Dog 51 film opens first in French cinemas starting October 15th, 2025 (including in IMAX) this fall. No US release date is set yet – stay tuned for updates. Anyone interested in it?
