“I don’t want to live in a world where he wins…” Netflix has unveiled the full trailer for a funky animated comedy movie titled The Twits, adapted right from Roald Dahl’s novel of the same name. Continuing their partnership with the Roald Dahl estate to adapt his work. It’s already ready and will be available to watch on Netflix in a few weeks. The Twits tells the story of Mr. and Mrs. Twit, the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people on the face of the earth, and their epic battle against a family of magical Muggle-Wumps and two brave children who refuse to let the Twits’ cruelty win. From director Phil Johnston (Ralph Breaks the Internet), this animated movie features new music from David Byrne featuring Hayley Williams. The voice voice cast features Margo Martindale & Johnny Vegas, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Ryan Lopez, Emilia Clarke, Natalie Portman , Timothy Simons, Nicole Byer, Jason Mantzoukas, Alan Tudyk, Mark Proksch, Rebecca Wisocky, and Charlie Berens. Johnston exclaims: “On behalf of the massive gaggle of weirdos who made this movie, we can’t wait for the world to meet our strange, ugly baby.” Ha. This looks so weird and wacky, exactly what we should be getting with any Roald Dahl movies these days. Check it out.

Here’s the first official trailer (+ poster) for Phil Johnston’s animation The Twits, direct from YouTube:

The Twits Movie Trailer

The Twits Movie Trailer

Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Phil Johnston reimagines Roald Dahl’s iconic characters, Jim & Credenza Twit, in their first feature animated adventure. The Twits tells the story of Mr. & Mrs. Twit, the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people in the world who also happen to own and operate the most disgusting, most dangerous, most idiotic amusement park in the world, Twitlandia. But when the Twits rise to power in their town, two brave children and a family of magical Muggle-Wumps, are forced to become as tricky as the Twits in order to save the city. A hysterically funny, wild ride of a film (chock-full of the Twits’ beloved tricks – from Wormy Spaghetti to the Dreaded Shrinks), The Twits is also a story for our times, about the never-ending battle between cruelty and empathy. The Twits is directed by animation filmmaker Phil Johnston, director of Ralph Breaks the Internet; co-writer Wreck-It Ralph, Cedar Rapids, co-writer Zootopia. Co-directed by Katie Shanahan & Todd Demong. The screenplay is written by Phil Johnston and Meg Favreau. Adapted from Roald Dahl’s novel. Produced by Phil Johnston, Maggie Malone, Daisy May West. With animation by Jellyfish Pictures (The Boss Baby, The Bad Guys). Netflix will release Johnston’s The Twits movie streaming on Netflix starting October 17th, 2025 this month. U.S. Government Shutdown 2025: List of Services & Agencies Closed
Hollywood

List of Services & Agencies Closed – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Image Credit: AFP via Getty Images

After midnight on October 1, 2025, the federal government officially shut down because lawmakers failed to come together on a new spending plan for the fiscal year. The halt leaves hundreds of thousands of federal workers in limbo and raises new questions about how long agencies can continue daily services.

With Republicans pointing fingers at Democrats over demands for health care subsidies, and Democrats pushing back that those must be part of any deal, the standoff has already begun to interfere with everything from economic reporting to food aid programs. As agencies start to scale back, here’s what we know about the shutdown, how it affects you and what businesses have ceased service until further notice.

What Happens When the Government Shuts Down?

When the U.S. government shuts down, “non-essential” federal workers could face furloughs, meaning an indefinite period of no pay while their jobs pause.

The service disruption can impact those outside of Washington D.C. as well. National parks and museums face widespread closures, while small businesses that rely on federal loans and approvals could experience delays.

What Businesses Are Closed During a Government Shutdown?

The October 2025 government shutdown will affect non-essential businesses, but essential ones such as the USPS, TSA, the Social Security Administration and the military will continue working. The following list includes the businesses and agencies the shut down could impact:

  • Department of Commerce
  • Department of Education

  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

  • Department of Labor

  • National Park Service

  • Small Business Administration (SBA)

  • NASA

  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) / NIH

  • General Services Administration (GSA)

  • Department of Agriculture (USDA)

Why Did the Government Shut Down?

The government shut down on October 1, 2025, because Congress did not agree on a funding bill before the start of the fiscal year. Donald Trump openly blamed Democrats for disagreeing with Republicans on the spending bill. Democrats stood firm about healthcare, and Republicans accused them of causing the shutdown to satisfy their voters for the 2026 midterm elections.

After the vote, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said, “Our guarantee is to the American people that we’re going to fight as hard as we can for their healthcare, plain and simple,” per Reuters.

Trump shared a deepfake AI-generated video to social media of Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries with mariachi music playing in the background and Jeffries wearing a sombrero.

The Benefits for Celebrities of Letting Products Use Their Image – Hollywood Life

The Benefits for Celebrities of Letting Products Use Their Image – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Celebrities often endorse the use of their likeness in different products, but why? Some of the benefits are somewhat obvious, being monetary in nature, but some benefits might be less obvious. Products from video games to casino games to cleaning and cooking products are often endorsed and marketed with the image of celebrities attached.

Star power is a real thing; anyone living around Hollywood can tell you. Seeing that a celebrity has endorsed a restaurant or product can make a big difference for not just fans of that particular celebrity, but other members of the public as well. Businesses, companies and products all understand this, and are all too happy to make use of the influence that celebrities can bring.

We’ve all seen celebrity images attached to kitchen devices, George Foreman Grill, anyone? But in this modern, increasingly digital world, it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that celebrity likenesses are often used in online products and services. Everything from AAA games to what are, according to Erik King, the most popular online casino platforms in NZ, uses the images of celebrities to endorse, improve and market their digital products.

But what’s in it for the celebrities? Well, apart from the obvious in monetary gains, there are a number of different things that celebrities can stand to gain, or lose, from endorsing products.

Money Makes the World Go Around

We’ve mentioned that it’s obvious, but just because it’s obvious doesn’t mean we should discount it. For many celebrities, letting a product or service use their image can stop at the monetary gain they get from allowing it. When it comes to actual adverts, pulling in a big check from doing a commercial might not be the greatest thing, but more money is good money, right? Sometimes these agreements might even work on some sort of percentage rate, meaning that the more popular or influential the celebrity, the better a deal it is for them.

There are many examples of this. Musicians often give their name or likeness to certain products, especially ones related to an instrument that they are famous for using. Actors have been known to do work with video game companies, allowing them to capture their faces and represent more realistic representations in-game. Many online slot games like to use the images of sports stars, actors and other celebrities in their games to allow players to engage with the game on multiple levels of interaction at once.

Helping You, Helps Me

For some celebrities, attaching themselves to a product or service that they believe in, or that they believe represents things that they also stand for, can be a way to boost their own reputation. Especially if it’s a product that is used often for a particular purpose, every time someone is using it, they are reminded of that celebrity. Building familiarity and recognizability in this way is an excellent way for celebrities to remain relevant in an entertainment landscape that seems to move lightning fast.

The George Foreman Grill is a perfect example of this. Every time you are in the kitchen and see his name on the grill, you remember him. Truly, he was a household name that was synonymous with delicious food, and his brand and name are still recognizable today.

A Whole New World

Sometimes a celebrity might want to endorse a product and licence their image in order to broaden the audience that they reach. This can be done easily enough through endorsing something relatively universal, like an alcoholic drink or foodstuff. When people see or buy that product, they are likely to wonder who exactly that is on the label.

This is a good deal for celebrities who are looking to broaden their appeal outside of a specific niche. If someone wants to start working in different areas or taking on new sorts of work, this is a great way to expand their personal brand and make them more recognizable to more people.

Staying Relevant Amidst Fierce Competition

Many industries and circles that celebrities move in are very competitive. You might be the darling of the media one week, then utterly forgotten the next. Because of this, many celebrities try to build partnerships and licence products to ensure that they will remain in the zeitgeist for longer than a single media cycle. In this way, even when the headlines are focused on someone else in their niche, they still have something with their name or image on it circulating around.

This can most often be seen with athletes and musicians. As they age out of being able to perform, athletes often sell their likeness and reap the benefits of their successful careers, even as those careers sunset. Old musicians also often take this route, selling their likeness to be used in themed online slot games or to be included in documentaries and other products.

Legitimacy Through Osmosis is Possible

As we mentioned earlier, some celebrities are very careful about the types of products and services to which they licence their image or endorse. By being careful to align themselves with certain value sets, these celebrities are further building upon a personal brand or identity.

While in some cases this might simply be a case of someone only endorsing things that they fully believe in anyway, for others, this is a well-thought-out maneuver. By building a personal brand that is consistent, they are able to leverage that brand consistency to attain more licenses and endorsements in the same field.

Final Thoughts

Different celebrities can have all sorts of different reasons for endorsing products or licencing their image. For some celebrities, endorsing the right products can be a great career move, while for many it might simply be a case of picking up some extra cash.

Regardless of why exactly they do it, you can be sure that celebrities always benefit from endorsing products or licencing their image, which is by no means to say that it is a bad thing when they do it.

Watch: Luke Barnett’s Short Film ‘Ovation’ Makes Fun of Film Festivals

Ahahaha someone finally found a fun way to make fun of standing ovation clocks at film festivals. One of the dumbest film journalism trends of this day & age is the way someone will literally count the minutes during a standing ovation at the end of a film’s world premiere at major film festivals including Cannes & Venice. I even wrote an article once how entirely pointless & stupid this trend is, and how standing ovations actually mean nothing, and they usually happen because audiences are obsessed with celebrities (it’s objectively not a measure of the quality of the film or anything besides who is in the audience / why aren’t they leaving). This funny short called Ovation is a riff on this trend, featuring actor Luke Barnett during his Cannes Film Festival premiere of the film The Last Saint of Inishberry (entirely made up). It’s also a satirical answer to the question: what do these actors do during a 20 min standing ovation? Well, watch and find out.

Ovation Short Film

Thanks to Luke on Twitter for the tip on this debuting online. Brief intro via YouTube: “An actor’s journey through a never-ending standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival.” Ovation is a short directed by Los Angeles-based filmmaker Noam Kroll – he runs a filmmaking community website and provides advice – he also has a “commercial production house called ‘Creative Rebellion'”, and runs a filmmaking blog to inspire others. Follow him on Twitter @noamkroll or on IG @noamkroll or visit his YouTube page or Vimeo page. Written and performed by Luke Barnett (also of the acclaimed short The Crossing Over Express). With cinematography by Andy Chinn. Produced by Luke Barnett & Noam Kroll. For more info on this film, visit YouTube or read the article on Variety. By Katy Perry’s own admission, her 14-month marriage to Russell Brand was less of a whirlwind and more of a “tornado.” While the chaos hasn’t vanished entirely, things have certainly mellowed since then. Since 2017, Russell has been married to Laura Gallacher, and the two have built a more grounded life together. Now parents and partners, their relationship has weathered its own ups and downs, especially in light of headlines in 2025 surrounding the actor and comedian.

Here’s what you need to know about Laura and their life together today.

Laura Gallacher

Laura Gallacher, reportedly born on June 28, 1987, dated Russell before they tied the knot. “When we first met we were both in a completely different place,” Laura told the Made by Mammas podcast in August 2019, per the Mirror. Her sister is television presenter and model Kirsty Gallacher.

Laura, a lifestyle blogger, dated Russell in 2006. Nine years later, the two bumped into each other randomly out and about. “I hadn’t seen Russell for years… I came down the steps to the canal and Russell was standing there,” she said. “We both immediately knew it was going to be serious.” Laura said that she had “a deep appreciation and love for this person even though I don’t know this person now. He was so different.”

The two had to “rebuild foundations and trust again,” since he was a divorcee and it had been nearly a decade since they were a couple. “It was very slow, it was getting to know each other and going out on day trips together,” she said.

“Suddenly it went fast, six months later, shall we move in, shall we get a puppy, and then after that I found out I was pregnant. We moved in in November and Valentine’s Day the next year I found out I was pregnant,” she added. Russell and Laura welcomed their first daughter, Mabel, in November 2016. Their second child, daughter Peggy, arrived in July 2018. In June 2023, Russell revealed that he and Laura were expecting their third child while appearing on the podcast The Diary of a CEO.

The couple married on August 26, 2017, in an intimate ceremony near their home in Henley-on-Thames, England, per Us Weekly. The wedding was held at Remenham Church. Guests included Oasis singer Noel Gallagher, comedian David Baddiel, and British TV host Jonathan Ross.

While Russell has found wedded bliss with Laura, the same can’t be said about his first marriage to Katy Perry. The couple tied the knot on October 23, 2010, only to divorce 14 months later. “It was the first kind of breaking of my idealistic mind,” Katy in a 2020 interview with 60 Minutes Australia. “I was having great success at 23, 24, and 25 and then I met someone that was interesting and stimulating. It was just like a tornado. Everything happening at once.”

The two began dating after meeting at the 2009 MTVA VMAs. Russell proposed on the following New Year’s Eve while on a trip to India. The couple returned to India for their wedding, but Katy’s career kept them apart. Her 2011 California Dreams world tour took her around the world, and the distance was too much for Russell. He texted his wife on Dec. 31, 2011 – two years after he first proposed – to tell her that he was divorcing her.

“I’ve changed a lot in the last five years,” Russell told Us Weekly in 2017 when reflecting on his past marriage. “I don’t compare my relationships now to previous relationships out of respect to my present wife and to Katy Perry. I think I’m an easier person to be with now. I’m also in a very different situation. I’m dependent on my wife. In relationships, there is always going to be a level of dependency. But I try not to project my problems onto other people and perhaps I’ve not always been like that.”

Since the split, Katy has gone on to find love with Orlando Bloom and start a family with him. She gave birth to their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, in 2020. However, by 2025, reports confirmed that the couple had quietly ended their relationship, choosing to co-parent their daughter while focusing on their individual careers.

If you or anyone you know has been sexually abused, call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673). A trained staff member will provide confidential, judgment-free support as well as local resources to assist in healing, recovering and more.

‘Armed Only With a Camera: Life & Death of Brent Renaud’ Doc Trailer

by Alex Billington
October 6, 2025
Source: YouTube

“The way you hold that camera, you’re doing it from your heart.” HBO Max has revealed the official trailer for a documentary film titled Armed Only With a Camera: Life & Death of Brent Renaud, made by his brother Craig Renaud. This first premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival earlier this year – where it won the Audience Award for Best Documentary. It’ll be streaming on HBO Max later this October. Armed Only With a Camera is a powerful tribute to a war photojournalist who risked everything on the front lines. On March 13th, 2022, doc filmmaker Brent Renaud was killed by Russian soldiers – the first American journalist to die while reporting on the war in Ukraine. His younger brother & collaborator, Craig Renaud, recovered Brent’s body and his final recordings from Ukraine and brought them back home to Arkansas. As Brent’s journey to his final resting place unfolds, the doc film chronicles the years he and his brother spent covering some of the world’s most dangerous conflicts as photojournalists. Brent’s journey home also serves as a window into what drove him as a journalist, and how he viewed the world through his lens. This film is dedicated to Brent and all journalists who use cameras to fight for peace. They’re more important than ever.

Trailer for Renaud’s doc Armed Only With a Camera: Life & Death of Brent Renaud, via YouTube:

Armed Only With A Camera: Life & Death of Brent Renaud Trailer

Armed Only With A Camera: Life & Death of Brent Renaud Poster

The vérité film includes harrowing footage of the brothers’ reporting from around the globe, including time embedded with the Arkansas National Guard in Iraq, the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, the war in Somalia, immigrants’ journeying from Honduras to the United States, and Brent’s reportage upon arriving in Ukraine. Despite bearing witness to devastating loss & suffering, he fearlessly covered stories from the front lines, while empathically capturing the impact on innocent people. Unflinching in its depiction of death, loss, and the toll of war, the film is Brent’s ultimate testament to the critical value of wartime reporting & tribute to journalists providing on-the-ground, life-threatening coverage of world events. As journalism is becoming one of the most dangerous professions, Armed Only With a Camera is dedicated to Brent & all devoted journalists who use their cameras to work for truth & understanding.

Armed Only With a Camera: Life & Death of Brent Renaud is directed by the brothers Craig Renaud & Brent Renaud (posthumously) as a “Renaud Brothers Film”. They’re also co-directors of the films Warrior Champions, Shelter, Meth Storm, and other TV series and many doc projects previously. Produced by Juan Arredondo, Craig Renaud & Brent Renaud; in association with DCTV. This initially premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival earlier this year. HBO Docs will release Armed Only With a Camera: Life & Death of Brent Renaud streaming on HBO Max starting on October 21st, 2025 this fall. Anyone want to watch it?

Who Is Stefon Diggs? 5 Things About the Football Player – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 October 6, 2025
written by jummy84

From the field to sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden, Stefon Diggs and Cardi B have kept fans on their toes since making their romance Instagram official earlier this year. The couple turned heads at a Knicks vs. Celtics playoff game in spring 2025, walking in hand-in-hand for a very public date night. Though they sparked split rumors by midsummer, the two put speculation to rest when Cardi revealed in September that she and the NFL star are expecting their first child together.

While Cardi is a global superstar, some fans may not know much about her partner. Here’s what to know about Stefon Diggs, from his career in football to his growing family with Cardi B.

Stefon Diggs Is From Maryland

Stefon was born on November 29, 1993, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Stefon Diggs Is an NFL Player

He is best known for being a National Football League (NFL) player, taking on the position of wide receiver for the New England Patriots. He joined the league back in 2015 when he was drafted in the fifth round by the Minnesota Vikings.

He has played for other teams as well, such as the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills. According to the New England Patriots website, when it comes to his skills on the field, he has previously shared, “What you saw last week you might not see this week. You might see something you saw two weeks ago.” He added, “I do a lot of watching myself. Watching my tendencies, watching what I put on tape, and I try to play off of that. Just like a chess game. The ability to create space and short-area quickness is what I’m really, really good at.”

Stefon Diggs Is Already a Father

The NFL star is a proud dad to his daughter, Nova, who was born in October 2016. She’s often seen supporting him at games and has become known for her stylish sideline appearances. Her grandmother, Stephanie, also shared in 2022 that Nova practices martial arts.

On September 17, 2025, Cardi revealed during a sit-down with Gayle King on CBS Mornings that she is pregnant with her fourth child — and her first with Stefon. “I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” the rapper announced in the pre-taped interview.

Cardi also opened up about their relationship, explaining how much they push and inspire each other. “Me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other. We’re like in the same space in our careers,” she said. “I feel like we’re really great and one of the best at what we do. And me and him think the same way — like, ‘Yeah, you’re one of the greatest, but what’s next?’ We just have to keep going, and that’s just who we are.”

Stefon Diggs’ Net Worth

As of 2025, the athlete has an estimated net worth of $60 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Stefon Diggs Has Been to the Met Gala

In 2025, he made an appearance at the Met Gala, where Cardi was also present, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” His look consisted of an all-black ensemble with a fur coat as well.
