“You were the only one who could see the real me.” GKids has unveiled another new official US trailer for Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, also known as just Little Amélie, a beautiful animated film from France. This is the English dub version of the trailer (original here). From directors Maïlys Vallade and Liane-Cho Han, Amélie et la métaphysique des tubes (the original title) is the story of Amélie, a Belgian girl living in Japan, who adores nature and all the spectacular granduer of the outdoors. The story explores her young life with her companion Nishio-san, a caretaker for the family. Her third birthday becomes a turning point, marking the beginning of life-altering events that will shape her understanding of the world she exists in. The original French language voices are by Emmylou Homs, Loïse Charpentier, Laetitia Coryn, Yumi Fujimori, and Isaac Schoumsky. I’m a huge fan of this film (and quoted in this trailer). I first saw it at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and it really left me in awe – it really is stunningly beautiful. About a little girl growing up and appreciating the natural world and learning about all the beauty, even if humans can be rotten or mean. The funniest part is when she tries Belgian white chocolate and everything changes.

Follows the young Amélie – born in Japan to Belgian parents – as she navigates an extraordinary early childhood. For the first two-and-a-half years of her life, she exists in a state of pure sensation, detached from typical human experiences – metaphorically described as “a digestive tube, inert and vegetative”. But on her third birthday, a transformative event awakens her to the world. Over the next six months, she discovers language, family, a heavenly garden, Japan, water, the changing seasons and the passage of time. Drawing on the Japanese belief that children are considered divine until the age of three, the film explores how this brief period, filled with joy & sorrow, is a foundational element in shaping her identity.

Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, originally known as Amélie et la métaphysique des tubes in French, is co-directed by filmmakers Liane-Cho Han Jin Kuang (animator on The Illusionist, Long Way North, Ethel & Ernest, Calamity a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary) & Mailys Vallade (of The Lighthouse Keeper short, artist on Calamity a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary), making their feature directorial debut with this project. The screenplay is written by Liane-Cho Han Jin Kuang, Eddine Noël, Aude Py, and Mailys Vallade. Adapted from the book written by Amélie Nothomb. Produced by Claire La Combe, Edwina Liard, Henri Magalon, and Nidia Santiago. This first premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival earlier this year (read our review) and it’s next playing TIFF this month before release. GKids will debut Little Amélie or the Character of Rain in US theaters nationwide starting November 7th, 2025 late this fall. Beautiful?

Shortly after they were first spotted at the award show celebration, the pair were spotted sitting side-by-side on the floor at New York’s Madison Square Garden, watching a Knicks game, and Sydney looked over the moon while she was staring at him. It was revealed that the two of them were engaged in March 2022, after almost four years of dating.

Jonathan Davino Is a Businessman

It was previously reported that Jonathan was a restaurateur and owner of several now-closed restaurants in Chicago, but Sydney has since clarified that this is not true.

“He’s not a restaurateur,” she told Glamour UK. “I have no idea where that came from. He’s also not the heir of a pizza company. He’s a business guy. He’s from Chicago. We’ve been watching [this narrative] for six years now and I’m like, ‘What the hell?’”

Jonathan Davino Is From Chicago

While Sydney was raised in Washington state and does most of her work in Los Angeles, she has spoken about her love for the city that Jonathan calls home. She said she had “a friend” in Chicago as rumors that she was first dating the businessman during a 2019 interview with Elite Daily. “I have a place there,” she said at the time. “It’s like my getaway place.”

What Has Sydney Said About Jonathan?

While Sydney initially kept her relationship private, she did open up about what qualities she looks for in a partner during a February 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan. “I look for a best friend. I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day,” she said.

While the actress didn’t open about her relationship, Sydney did reveal that she wants a family during a 2022 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I want to have a family, I’ve always wanted to be a young mom, and I’m worried about how this industry puts stigmas on young women who have children and looks at them in a different light,” she said. “I was worried that, if I don’t work, there is no money and no support for kids I would have.”

Nearly two years later, Sydney took a moment to gush over Jonathan during her SNL hosting debut in March 2024. Meanwhile, she shut down the rumors that she and Glen were ever in a relationship.

“The craziest rumor I’ve seen is that while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell. In an epic joke, though, Sydney had the cameras cut to Glen, who was sitting in the SNL audience. The actor also appeared in a skit with Sydney and called her “baby cakes,” playing into the baseless affair rumors.

While Sydney has kept her relationship private, DeuxMoi was the first to report how she deleted a pic of her and Jonathan kissing from Instagram, leading to many to speculate about their relationship status. Shortly thereafter, multiple outlets reported that Sydney and Jonathan had called it quits.

In April 2025, the two were spotted together amid rumors that they had called off their engagement.

Sydney Hasn’t Dated Celebrities

While there were rumors linking Sydney to her Anyone But You co-star, Glen, the actress noted she wasn’t interested in dating another celebrity in that 2022 Cosmo interview. “I don’t date people in the spotlight. I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way, and it’s easiest. This story reminds me of Brad Pitt’s Moneyball, about how to build a winning team finding the right people. A young college football coach (armed with a lucrative NIL offer) is sent to rural Alabama to sign the nation’s top high school defensive end and soon finds himself trying to outflank a frenzy of rival recruiters, fight off grifting townsfolk galore, and somehow also win over the player’s wildly dysfunctional family. Inspired by a true story. “Owen’s perspective brings a rare mix of insight and humor to the realities of college football today.” Starring Michael Mosley as Coach Walt McFadden, with Mira Sorvino & Rob Morgan, featuring football legends Marshawn Lynch, Brian Bosworth and Champ Bailey. This looks like a kooky comedy about the eccentricities of small town American more than a mainstream sports movie.

His pursuit takes him deep into the backwoods of Alabama, where he discovers that money, not talent, often determines who wins. Signing Tony Raymond is directed by American filmmaker Glen Owen (a University of Georgia basketball alum), director of the film Stalked Within previously, plus the “Gillian in Georgia” series and sports doc “Comeback: A March Madness Story” on TV. The FDA has announced a nationwide recall of more than 580,000 bottles of blood pressure medication after tests found traces of a cancer-causing chemical in certain batches. The affected drug, Prazosin Hydrochloride, was distributed in 1 mg, 2 mg, and 5 mg capsule forms by Teva Pharmaceuticals and Amerisource Health Services.

Health experts are urging patients not to stop taking their medication abruptly, as uncontrolled blood pressure can be dangerous. Instead, consumers should check the lot number on their prescription bottles and contact their doctor or pharmacist if their medication appears on the recall list.

The FDA says the issue involves nitrosamine impurities, a class of compounds linked to an increased risk of cancer with long-term exposure. Here’s everything to know about the blood pressure medication recall, the drugs affected, and what steps patients should take next.

Which Blood Pressure Medications Were Recalled?

The recall impacts Prazosin Hydrochloride capsules in 1 mg, 2 mg, and 5 mg strengths, distributed nationwide under the Teva Pharmaceuticals label. More than 580,000 bottles were affected, with expiration dates ranging from April 2026 through September 2027. The drug, often used to treat high blood pressure and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)-related symptoms, has been pulled from shelves due to contamination concerns.

Patients can verify if their prescription is part of the recall by checking the lot numbers listed on the FDA’s official recall notice. If a match is found, the FDA advises contacting a healthcare provider before making any medication changes.

Why Was This Blood Pressure Medication Recalled?

According to the FDA, the medication contained “above acceptable intake limits” of a nitrosamine compound called N-nitroso Prazosin impurity C—part of a class of chemicals linked to an increased risk of cancer. The recall was officially classified as Class II, meaning the potential for serious harm is considered remote but still medically concerning.

While the FDA’s Class II recall classification means most people are unlikely to experience severe effects, the agency warns that “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences” could occur. Teva noted that alternative treatments for hypertension remain widely available and reaffirmed its commitment to quality control, stating, “There are many alternative treatments available to patients.”

“Teva prioritizes patient safety and product quality at every stage of a medicine’s lifecycle.”

The compound, N-nitroso Prazosin impurity C, can form during the manufacturing or storage process.

GKids has revealed a second trailer for the acclaimed Japanese drama titled Kokuho, made by filmmaker Sang-il Lee. The title Kokuho means “national treasure” and is inspired by a true story. This first premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in Directors’ Fortnight and opens in limited theaters in November. Tickets for viewings in NY & LA are on sale now. Already announced as Japan’s entry for Best International Feature at the Academy Awards, the smash-hit live action feature is directed by Sang-il Lee (of “Pachinko” Season 2, Hula Girls, Rage), and stars Ryo Yoshizawa, Ryusei Yokohama, and Ken Watanabe. With a breakthrough performance for lead actor Ryo Yoshizawa, who trained 18 months in the art and history of Kabuki theater, to embody the role of Kikuo, an actor pursuing greatness at all costs, in a story of glory and heartbreak that spans decades. In post-war Japan’s economic boom, gangster family-born Kikuo finds himself adopted by a kabuki actor. He develops into a gifted performer. This looks truly stunning and so deeply soulful & moving.

“Is this what the end of the world feels like?” Yes. Neon has revealed the official US trailer for the highly acclaimed, award-winning, best-of-the-year film Sirat – created by Spanish-French filmmaker Óliver Laxe as his fourth feature. It premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival where it was regarded as one of the best films at the fest that deserved to win the Palme d’Or. Now it’s opening in US theaters starting in November. After his daughter disappears at a rave, a father travels to Morocco up into the mountains with his son to search for her. She has been missing for months and they travel into the rave scene in hopes of finding her. Starring Sergi López & Bruno Núñez as the father & son. The title is a reference to this concept in Islam, “sirat” refers to a narrow bridge spanning the chasm of Hell, which believers are said to cross on the Day of Judgment. It’s also a broader concept representing the “straight path” of righteousness and guidance, both in a literal and metaphorical sense. I wrote in my glowing review at Cannes: “Óliver Laxe’s Sirat is a techno-filled desert odyssey that will leave everyone breathless. A must watch for all cinephiles.” This film RULES! This trailer shows quite a bit, but doesn’t reveal all of it thankfully. Don’t miss experiencing this in theaters.

“If Scream VII wasn’t going to be with that team of directors and those people I fell in love with, then it didn’t seem like the right move for me in my career at the time,” Jenna added.

“Just holy steady, Sonny… Entry is looking beautiful.” This is how you do it! Make something for nothing and impress everyone! Reentry is a fantastic 1-minute long short (well, 80 seconds to be precise) made by filmmaker Scott Jeschke. We’ve featured his shorts before (Mimic) this is also worth a watch. It debuted on Twittter and is now available on YouTube in HD (view below). The short is an experiment in showing just how much storytelling you can pull off in 1 minute and how it’s ALL made by Scott, without any AI, or crew, or extra money, or anything. “I retaught myself basic VFX compositing in After Effects, and put many hours into making this a fully-human-made piece that I could be proud of,” he explains. An astronaut experiences an intense reentry into Earth’s atmosphere. But there’s also a very clever sci-fi nod at the end. Click on play.

Arriving next October! Aardman Animation & Studiocanal have revealed the very first quick announcement teaser for a brand new Shaun the Sheep movie arriving next year in October. Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is a Halloween-themed stop-motion animated movie currently scheduled to open in theaters Halloween 2026 🎃, which is why they’re revealing this first look right now, one year ahead of its debut worldwide. The film is the third stop motion animated feature film from Aardman’s globally loved brand: following Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) + the first sequel A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon (2019) – along with other short films & series based on Shaun as well. The Beast of Mossy Bottom is about what happens when The Farmer’s pumpkin patch is trashed and Shaun tries to help figure out how to fix it in time for Halloween. “All the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.” This is such a fun little teaser with the pumpkin and the scary “wild beast” of Mossingham.
