Van Hechter on “Boy Problems,” Heartbreak, and Dancing It Away

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

French-Georgian artist Van Hechter lives in Montreal, where he co-owns Isotop Records with associate producer D.J. Eryck Wyseman. Known for his clever, multi-layered lyrics that expose human flaws, often his own, with humor and charm, Van has built a cult following in the underground scene. Stylish both in fashion and sound, his music now plays on radio stations in New York, Chicago, and California, and he’s set to perform regularly in Manhattan over the next year.

His latest single, “Boy Problems,” is a daring bilingual track blending French and English. Van refused to translate it entirely into English, believing the French lyrics added a romantic flair. Here’s what he had to say about it.

Is this your first really bilingual song?
“I have a few songs with a French sentence or two, but yes, ‘Boy Problems’ is my first fully bilingual song. It wasn’t calculated at all; it’s just how it came out when I wrote it. I thought, well, French is supposed to be the language of love, so why not talk about heartbreak in French?

Plus, I used a Montreal accent, meaning Quebec French, not France French, which was important to me. I wanted to represent and honor the city where I’ve spent most of my life.”

What’s the song about?
“It’s about self-respect and knowing your worth. If you feel you aren’t loved at your true value, exit even if the relationship has great moments. Never settle for crumbs. It’s better to be alone than around someone who makes you feel small.

And I remember dancing that breakup away after each show at Orage Club, where I entertain twice a week. A very disco cliché, really,” he laughs.

A disco cliché we love, though…
“Yes! From Barry White and Carrie Lucas to Dua Lipa, dancing away heartbreak while pretending everything’s fine works every time in a song. The idea never gets old, so I dove right in.”

Right before the break, you sing ‘Tout seul à Montréal,’ which means ‘All alone in Montreal.’ How does being alone in Montreal feel?
“Mehhh, that was the pain talking. I rarely feel lonely, especially not in Montreal. I live downtown, and I can’t walk 10 meters, about 32 feet, without running into someone I know. As soon as I step outside my flat, there’s always someone to say hello to.”

Any plans to visit California?
“God, I’d love to visit California again. Palm Springs was exquisite! People were so kind. I remember walking from my hotel to a café for breakfast while cars were honking at me. I didn’t even know why. Maybe the mustache?” he chuckles.

“I also remember confiding my troubles to a girl by a pool with a stunning mountain view. I was going through a setback, and she followed up with me for two years after that conversation. Can you believe it? How generous!”

Your stage presence is magnetic. When you walk on, there’s a real star aura. Where does that come from, do you think?
“If I do have that aura, I think it comes from letting go. I’m at my best when I don’t overthink. I rehearse a lot, but I let performances flow naturally and leave room for spontaneity.

It actually took years to loosen up on stage. When I first started out, I was petrified. Now, performing is my favorite part of the job.”

New Trailer for ‘V for Vendetta’ 20th Anniversary Screenings in 2026

by Alex Billington
November 5, 2025
Source: YouTube

“Remember, remember, the 5th of November, the gunpowder, treason & plot…” Fathom Ent. has debuted a year-in-advance special screening of the extraordinary revolutionary classic V for Vendetta, made by The Wachowskis and director James McTeigue. The re-release event will be held on November 5th, 2026 in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the movie (it was originally released in March 2006 but the date November 5th is part of the movie). V for Vendetta is one of my all-time favorite movies, an enlivening and inspiring experience, and one of The Wachowski Sisters’ most exhilarating follow-ups to The Matrix just 7 years prior. In a near future British dystopian authoritarian society (similar to the one in America today), a shadowy freedom fighter, known only by the alias of “V”, plots to overthrow the tyrannical government with the help of a young woman. Natalie Portman stars as Evey, and Hugo Weaving co-stars entirely under a Guy Fawkes mask in one his best performances ever as the enigmatic V. The cast includes Stephen Rea, Stephen Fry, John Hurt, Tim Pigott-Smith, Rupert Graves, & Roger Allam. I used to rewatch this movie every year on November 5th, it’s a brilliant presentation of a real revolution when things get this bad.

Here’s the new 20th Anniversary promo trailer for James McTeigue’s V for Vendetta, from YouTube:

V for Vendetta 20th Anniversary Trailer

V for Vendetta Poster

In the near future, Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman) is an average citizen in the UK, which is under the rule of the fascist & tyrannical Norsefire Party. She is an employee of the state-run British TV Network, but soon, she becomes the number one enemy of the state with an enigmatic & larger-than-life freedom fighter known only by the letter “V” (Hugo Weaving). V informs Evey she must hide in his underground lair for at least one year, and while she is reluctant to the idea at first, a bond soon forms between them. In the meantime, the mysterious past of V is gradually revealed to the police inspector tasked with finding him, Eric Finch, and it is not long until he starts questioning everything that his government stands for…

V for Vendetta is directed by Australian filmmaker James McTeigue, directing his very first big movie at the time before going on to make Ninja Assassin (2009), The Raven (2012), and Survivor (2015) after. The screenplay is written by The Wachowski Sisters – Lilly & Lana Wachowski. Adapted from the famous graphic novel written by Alan Moore (who removed his name from the credits) and illustrated by David Lloyd, first published in 1982. Produced by The Wachowskis, Joel Silver, and Grant Hill. Warner Bros first released V for Vendetta in theaters starting March 17th, 2026 – earning a total of $70M at the US box office that year. Fathom will host special screenings of V for Vendetta next November 5th, 2026 in theaters nationwide.

Jim Curtis built a successful platform in the health and wellness industry before meeting Jennifer Aniston. The Friends alum’s boyfriend, with whom she went Instagram official in late 2025, is a hypnotherapist, a coach and an author. Naturally, Jen’s fans are curious about her new love and are wondering how he makes a living. After all, he’s not in the spotlight like she is. Below, keep reading to find out where Jim’s net worth stands and how he makes his money today.

What Does Jim Curtis Do for Work?

As previously noted, Jim is a hypnotherapist, a coach and an author, having published the books Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide and The Stimulati Experience: 9 Skills for Getting Past Pain, Setbacks, and Trauma to Ignite Health and Happiness.

As seen on his website, Jim was inspired by his own health struggles to pursue a career in holistic wellness.

“After years of living with a chronic, misdiagnosed illness and emotional trauma, he found a way to heal that honored both the body and the soul,” Jim’s site indicates. “His work is rooted in that experience — and in the belief that no matter how stuck or broken you may feel, transformation is always possible.”

What Is Jim Curtis’ Net Worth?

Jim’s exact net worth is currently unclear, but multiple outlets have reported that it lies between $1 million and $5 million.

How Did Jim Curtis Make His Money?

Jim built his net worth thanks to royalties from his published books, the money he earns from coaching sessions, speaking at various events and providing courses with his wellness platform.

“My own illness and disability forced me to confront the limited beliefs, disconnection, and trauma that were keeping me sad, sick, and alone,” Jim’s website indicates. “Through many powerful tools, including hypno-realization, I not only transformed my physical health, depression, and relationships, but I’ve also helped thousands of others break free to create an entirely new reality full of connection, community and love.”

Before he found his passion, Jim worked on Wall Street for two years. During a 2018 interview with Fast Company, Jim opened up about the symptoms that his illness caused in addition to his past job.

“It was unknown how they started, but I very rapidly became ill and soon had trouble walking,” Jim explained, referring to the lesions that doctors found on his spinal cord when he was 22. “My illness was telling me something about the perception of who I was, [which to me] was this macho guy; I was an athlete, and I had a plan to work on Wall Street, so I did it.”

Admitting that his Wall Street job “couldn’t have been a worse choice” for him, Jim explained that it was “super high-stress, which is inflammatory and devastating for a condition like mine. It increased symptoms of fatigue and pain, and it brought on new ones like IBS [irritable bowel syndrome] and other things I couldn’t control.”

What Is Jennifer Aniston’s Net Worth?

Jennifer Aniston currently boasts a net worth of $320 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

How Did Jim Curtis Meet Jennifer Aniston?

It’s still unclear how Jim and Jennifer met, but they were first spotted together in July 2025, and she went public with their romance in November of that year via Instagram. Alongside a black-and-white photo, Jen called Jim, “my love,” in her caption while wishing him a “Happy Birthday.”

The adventure continues! Arka Mediaworks has revealed the first epic teaser for Baahubali: The Eternal War, an animated spin-off series of movies currently in the works. Arka just re-released both of the original two Baahubali movies as one massive Baahubali: The Epic which just hit theaters around the world. After the cliffhanger that ended Baahubali: The Beginning, The Eternal War will follow the betrayed & murdered prince Amarendra Baahubali (voiced again by superstar Prabhas) into the afterlife. Heart aching for those he left behind, Amarendra Baahubali finds himself at the center of an ancient cosmic war between devas and asuras. As he navigates through the 14 realms of existence, he forges an unlikely alliance, confronts divine forces, and fights to restore balance to the cosmos. Ramya Krishna also reprises her role from the films, voicing Sivagami again. These new animated movies are presented by Baahubali’s creator S.S. Rajamouli, and will feature screenplays written by Kevin Smith’s former producer Scott Mosier, and music by M.M. Keeravani. This first look teaser has new animation footage + some footage from the movies to get people hyped up even more. I dig the style of this – clearly inspired by Into the Spider-Verse and I’m fine with that.

Here’s the first teaser trailer for Ishan Shukla’s animation Baahubali: The Eternal War, from YouTube:

“When Ishan brought us the idea of expanding the Baahubali universe into a stylised animated epic, it clicked instantly. It feels like a seamless, organic extension of the world we built, one that will thrill long‑time fans and invite new audiences in. I am excited to bring these two films to the big screen.” –Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli

Baahubali: The Eternal War Teaser

Set in the wake of the iconic cliffhanger that ended Baahubali: The Beginning, The Eternal War will follow the betrayed and murdered prince Amarendra Baahubali (voiced by Telugu cinema titan Prabhas in a reprisal of his film role) into the afterlife. His heart aching for those he left behind, Amarendra Baahubali finds himself at the center of an ancient cosmic war between Devas & Asuras. As he navigates through 14 realms of existence, he forges an unlikely alliance, confronts divine forces beyond mortal comprehension, & fights to restore balance to the cosmos. Baahubali: The Eternal War is directed by animation filmmaker Ishan Shukla, director of Schirkoa: In Lies We Trust and “The Bandits of Golak” episode of Star Wars: Visions previously. The screenplay is written by Scott Mosier (producer of many Kevin Smith movies); with dialogue by Deva Katta & Madhan Karky. Based on a story by Ishan Shukla & Sowmya Sharma. Produced by Prasad Devineni and Shobu Yarlagadda. Arka Mediaworks will debut Part 1 of Baahubali: The Eternal War animation in theaters sometime in 2027. Stay tuned for any more updates. Who’s excited for this already?

Zachary Quinto & Mandy Patinkin in Mystery Series ‘The Artist’ Trailer

“What is the reason?” “This was no accident…” The Network has unveiled the first official trailer for a new murder mystery series called The Artist, ready for viewing this fall. The Network is yet another streaming platform entirely online – this one is entirely free and has nothing but original content. The Artist is a new series from the same director as The Green Veil. In the twilight of the Gilded Age, murder strikes the estate of an eccentric and failing tycoon. As he hosts the era’s biggest celebrities including Thomas Edison, Edgar Degas, and Evelyn Nesbit – lies, mystery and ambition collide as the truth is shockingly revealed. By night’s end, the mogul is found dead, igniting a historical murder mystery. Featuring an impressive, eccentric cast: Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, Danny Huston, Hank Azaria, Patti Lupone, Katherine McPhee, Clark Gregg, Ever Anderson, and Zachary Quinto as attorney Delphin Delmas. This definitely looks kooky and amusing, with some additional wackiness in its story & with all these characters together. Enjoy.

In the twilight of the Gilded Age, an ensemble of the old era’s celebrities, including Thomas Edison, Edgar Degas and Evelyn Nesbit meet for a gathering at the house of an eccentric and failing tycoon. By night’s end, the mogul is found dead, igniting a historical murder mystery. The Artist is a new series created and written and directed by filmmaker Aram Rappaport, director of the films Innocent, Summer Song, Syrup, The Crash, John Leguizamo in John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons, and “The Green Veil” series previously. It was filmed in Connecticut last year. Produced and developed by The Network – the “Always Original, Always Free” streaming service that launched in 2024. Executive produced by Aram Rappaport & Hilary Shor. The Network will release Rappaport’s murder mystery series The Artist streaming on their new platform with two portions debuting this fall – Part 1 available on November 27th, 2025 (Thanksgiving Day) then Part 2 available on December 25th, 2025 (Christmas Day) later this year. Anyone intrigued?

Tom Blyth Stars in ‘High Finance’ Thriller Film ‘Bull Run’ Official Trailer

“I was thinking we could do some number-crunching tonight – if you’re free.” Vertical has revealed their official trailer for a financial thriller film called Bull Run, made by filmmaker Alfredo Barrios Jr. as his feature directorial debut. It premiered at a film festival last year and will be out to watch on VOD later this month. In banking terms, a “bull run” is a period of sustained upward price movement in a market, such as stocks or cryptocurrencies, driven by investor confidence and optimism. The film follows a young former hockey player turned “high finance” banker working in NYC. In the wilds of Wall Street, one junior banker discovers that the only thing more dangerous than billion-dollar deals are the men signing them. Starring Tom Blyth with Chris Diamantopoulos, Jay Mohr, Zach Villa, Jordyn Denning, Ashwin Gore, Helena Mattson, Trevor Gretzky, Troy Garity, Sam Daly, and Alyshia Ochse. This film looks okay, but I’d rather recommend the excellent Fair Play film instead, also set in the cut-throat Wall Street offices.

Bull Run Poster

“Greed has its limits.” Bobby Sanders (Tom Blyth), a hustling, fast-talking ex-pro-hockey-player-turned-junior-banker, navigates the quirky and somewhat surreal world of high finance as he confronts life’s meaning within his gilded cage. Bull Run is directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Alfredo Barrios Jr., making his feature film directorial debut after working on some TV series and a few short films previously. The screenplay is written by Alfredo Barrios Jr and Bill Keenan. Produced by Bill Keenan, Doug Ellin, Karen Baldwin, Howard Baldwin, Andrew Sugerman, Bill Immerman. This first premiered at the 2024 Newport Beach Film Festival last year but didn’t show up anywhere else. Vertical will release Barrios Jr’s Bull Run movie in select US theaters + on VOD starting November 14th, 2025 this fall. Anyone interested in this?
