And just like that, it’s fall. How do we know? Celebs are wearing jackets in NYC. Specifically, I’m referring to Katie Holmes and the newly engaged Elsa Hosk, who were just photographed on the streets of lower Manhattan wearing not brown, not black, but navy jackets. Listen—brown and black jackets will never not be relevant. But as you know, navy blue is the rich neutral everyone has been swapping the aforementioned staples for over the past year, and it appears that jackets are the new navy It item.
Hosk opted for a Valentino jacket trimmed in brown fur, while Holmes went with a collarless blazer-style jacket. Both were slightly cropped, which is worth noting when shopping for your new fall jacket. Keep scrolling to choose from a few I think Hosk and Holmes would approve of.

There’s a new woman in charge at 3.1 Phillip Lim. Michelle Rhee recently started as creative director of the brand, and she can only describe the process as a “whirlwind.” As an Asian American designer, she understands the impact of the legacy Phillip Lim left behind when he stepped down and what the label means. “The brand has always stood for the Asian American community. There’s something that makes 3.1 Phillip Lim more dimensional and bigger picture than just the products,” said Rhee at a showroom appointment.
For her first official collection, she wanted to still focus on the craft and the roots of 3.1 Phillip Lim. She spent her early days in the archive studying the brand’s signature pieces like the asymmetrical hemlines and homed in on new details. This season, asymmetrical dresses featured buttery viscose yarn with fringe trimmings, adding a fun and modern touch. Closet basics like leather jackets and trench coats came in new trapeze styles to add dimension and a touch of ease, allowing the wearer to feel stylish without much effort. “To me, the pieces feel how I want to feel at the moment. There’s just a very awesome body and dimension, but everything comes in really rich fabrications,” said Rhee.
Looking ahead, Rhee wants to focus on building a wardrobe for the everyday woman in New York and beyond. “I want to bring elements of femininity, but still with that New York edge and street cool the brand is known for, but also bring in a moment of fresh air with relaxing silhouettes.”
From under eye smudges to clumps and flakes, learning how to apply mascara correctly is important for any eye look. There’s nothing worse than applying a full face of makeup, only for your best mascara to end up in smears or black specs across your face. Although using mascara may seem straightforward, there are a few application tips to keep in mind for the best results.
For starters? Make sure your lashes are clean. “For all of my clients I start with a gentle cleanse over their entire face, including their eyes,” says makeup artist Emily Gray, whose clients include Lana Del Rey and Marren Morris. “I love using Shiseido Facial Cotton Pads because it’s gentle on the skin and doesn’t tug or shed with Sisley Paris Eau Efficace Gentle Makeup Remover. This micellar water takes off any remaining makeup from the eyes, which makes it the perfect prep for any eye or lash look.”
If you use a lash curler, Gray has a few tips on protecting your hairs from damage. “First, I like to start with curling the bare lashes, this is important to do prior to putting on mascara,” she says. “I’m certain that we have all seen those videos of an innocent person accidentally taking off all their lashes with a lash curler and their mascara still wet. Please, curl your lashes prior to putting on mascara.”
Once your lashes are prepped, here comes the fun part: using the mascara wand. To help break down how to apply mascara correctly, Gray shares her best methods and tricks.
You may be tempted to go straight in with loads of product, but for the best lash look, Gray recommends starting little by little. “I like to take the wand and scrap the excess product off,” she says.” I prefer to work in thinner layers and build up the lashes.
Start from the bottom roof of the lashes and “wiggle” your way to the top. “Work on the next eye and allow that coat to dry before adding another layer. Depending on the mascara, I like about three to four coats of mascara.”
If you like a separated lash look, Gray recommends picking up a lash comb. “For extra definition, I like to take the comb and go through all the individual lashes, making sure there are no clumps. I would just advise being careful as lash combs are metal and sharp. Do not stab yourself accidentally!”

There’s a special excitement when one of our favorite brands ventures into something new. A fresh category means a thrilling new chapter for the label, along with more chic pieces for us to add to our wardrobes. Naturally, as shopping-obsessed fashion editors, we’re always all in, especially when it’s from a brand like Reformation.
It’s true: today, the editor-loved label introduced jewelry as its newest category, consulted on by Clare Waight Keller, whom the brand partnered with last fall to debut a limited-edition jewelry collection.
Ref’s new jewelry line features a range of necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets designed for the shopper who comes to Reformation to dress like an in-the-know fashion person. “We wanted to create a jewelry assortment that felt like it belonged with our clothing and also brought something new to the category from a design and sustainability perspective,” Alison Melville, Chief Innovation Officer of Reformation, tells Who What Wear. Many of the pieces are vintage-inspired, visible through tassel details, 80s-inspired statement studs, cord pendant necklaces, and sculptural designs. “Vintage is an important part of Reformation’s overall design language, which we leaned into here through streamlined Art Deco pieces and glitzier 80s-inspired styles,” Melville adds.
Aligning with the brand’s commitment to sustainability, its new jewelry is just as eco-friendly as its coveted ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, pajamas, and handbags. The collection is made using archival stones (meaning leftover gemstones that have been sitting unused) and 100% recycled metals, including 24-karat gold, sterling silver, and brass; in other words, no new mining was required to make any of the pieces. “All the materials used within the collection are repurposed, including recycled metals with gemstones that have been sitting unused at supplies for at least 5 years, so there is no new production from a materials sourcing standpoint,” Melville shares. The category was also designed with circularity in mind, meaning that Ref jewelry can be recycled through RefRecycling. Now this is the most dramatic announcement ever: Taylor Frankie Paul, star of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is the new leading lady for ABC’s The Bachelorette.
In the early morning hours of September 10 (on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, no less), it was announced that The Bachelorette will return for season 22 in 2026 with the reality star—and mom of three—at the helm.
Per ABC’s press release, “After igniting ‘MomTok’ and going viral for pulling back the curtain on Salt Lake’s soft-swinging scene in Hulu’s Emmy-nominated series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the 31-year-old Utah native is ready to trade headline-making heartbreak for hometown dates as she begins making her mark on Bachelor Nation.”
There’s plenty of shocking firsts in this announcement, namely being that this is the first time a Bachelorette lead hasn’t come from a previous season of The Bachelor. (The Bachelor, on the other hand, has more experience with this—the last contestant who didn’t come from a previous season was Matt James in 2021.)
While no specific date has been announced (ABC is only saying the “all-new season will debut in 2026”), it would seem that Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette will premiere in January, which is typically when The Bachelor airs. The Bachelorette took the summer off after Jenn Tran’s rather disastrous finale in 2024 (though Bachelor in Paradise did return this summer, somewhat in its place). There has also been a lot of shuffling behind-the-scenes with Scott Teti becoming executive producer and showrunner of the franchise, starting with Paradise this summer. Meanwhile, The Golden Bachelor also returns this month (Wednesday, September 24), so it kind of makes sense that The Bachelorette gets its turn back in the spotlight next.
The biggest surprise of all is Paul’s casting, of course. While single parents have been Bachelor leads and contestants before (Jason Mesnick had a son at the time, while Emily Maynard had a daughter), Paul has three children.
More so, as Glamour senior editor Stephanie McNeal wrote last year, “Paul and some of her gang of internet-famous Mormon wives and mothers were swingers. During the pandemic, [she and her fellow] Mormon, Utah-based moms who posted videos together dancing grew huge social followings as rumors ran wild that they all were all sleeping with each other. Then, in May 2022, Paul seemed to confirm this when she made a video announcing that she and her husband were splitting up because she violated the rules of the “soft swinging” arrangement the couple had with several others in their #MomTok friend group. Many of the women denied it, some blasted Paul, and the whole thing was rather juicy.”
In speaking with McNeal, Paul said, “I’ve had a lot of lessons learned. I had to go the hard way, and that was all by my choices that I made in life.”
