Meet the Designers Making Their New York Fashion Week Debuts For Spring 2026

New York Fashion Week is finally here, with six days of sartorial newness kicking off on Sept. 11. Its usual suspects line the CFDA’s official calendar — Coach, Tory Burch, Michael Kors Collection and Christian Siriano, to name a few — but we’re equally excited for the new …

33 Fall Dresses From Mango, Reformation, and Anthropologie

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for wide-leg trousers and ’90s-inspired straight-leg jeans, but I believe dresses are a severely underrated essential in a chic fall closet. As we transition from summer trends to new fall fashion, I highly recommend not setting aside your dresses just yet. Instead, reach for a cozy cardigan or a French woman’s favorite, the trench, for a windy fall morning. I also hear the sporty funnel-neck style is giving the moto jacket a run for its money this season. Pair dresses with any of this season’s trending shoe styles, from slouchy suede boots and low-profile sneakers to chunky clogs and, as It girls everywhere will suggest, ballet flats. Plus, as this temperamental NYC weather proves, rain boots are a must.

Below, I’m rounding up gorgeous fall dresses from Mango, Reformation, and Anthropologie, from romantic boho-chic styles that will have anyone asking “Is that vintage Chloé?” to sleek mock-neck knit minis that are guaranteed to turn heads. To me, fall fashion is all about looking rich and ensuring mornings run smoothly, and there’s nothing easier than throwing on a chic dress and calling it a day. Scroll on to shop 33 stunning fall dresses.

Brandon Maxwell Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

A decade ago, Brandon Maxwell was the new kid on the block, a stylist-turned-designer with his client Lady Gaga cheering him along from the front row. Most of the time, fashion can’t resist an anniversary, but Maxwell was clear about not focusing on his past at his Sotheby’s show location tonight. “There’s nothing really 10-year-anniversary about it other than the date,” he said. “I’m very much interested in looking forward.”

So, what does Maxwell see in his future? From the looks of this collection, he’s not just optimistic, he’s giddy. Start with the neoprene-backed plaid double-breasted blazer he opened with, and the slender bandeau boasting an emphatically big buckle he slipped underneath. Consider the fringe that draped from silk knit dresses and the cowhide print decorating a jean jacket. And get a load of the zoo animal illustrations that appeared on a boxy tee and pencil skirt. This was as loose as Maxwell’s been in years, maybe ever.

Funnily enough, he said he started the collection with wool silk failles and constricted and tight shapes. His shoulders bunched up near his ears as he remembered those early samples, and who wants to feel like that? For an antidote, he packed his team into the car and headed to the Design Library in the Hudson Valley, to see if anything sparked joy. “I’ve been trying to lean into my little pleasures in life and the things that make me happy,” he explained. “Part of what I was trying to do was tap into a sort of whimsical, childlike wonder.”

We’ve been hearing a lot about individual style lately; designers have assumed a less prescriptive attitude. It suits Maxwell. He’s tried on different styles and specialities over his 10 years in fashion—power tailoring and power ball gowns, among them—and has recently settled into a relaxed, yet urbane sportswear groove. Here, more of his Texas twang emerged: those bold buckles, the metal tip wedges, the leather bolo ties. For every well constructed jacket there was another silhouette in fluid jersey, and another in voluminous silk nylon, including a fun belted tracksuit sprouting feathers from the collar in cherry red. No constricted shapes—of the literal or the metaphorical variety.

Everything You Need to Know About New York Fashion Week in 2025

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

New York Fashion Week is finally back, and we’re pulling back the curtain on the much-publicized, oft-misunderstood event.

What is New York Fashion Week, anyway?

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is a biannual event during which designers—most of them based in New York City—show next season’s women’s collections to press, buyers, and notable guests. (More on that below.) It takes place in early September (for the upcoming spring-summer collections) and early February (fall-winter) and is the first major stop of Fashion Month each season, followed by London, Milan, and Paris. This season it runs from Thursday, September 11, through Tuesday, September 16.

Although it can seem like a carousel of outlandish looks and ultrawealthy attendees—and, to a certain extent, it is—this is mostly a business conference centered on fabulous clothing. Yes, attendees want to look good, but plenty of them are dressing for comfort and have laptop bags slung over their shoulders. NYFW itself is programmed by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), and the only official events are the runways and presentations included on the CFDA’s calendar. Countless brands also throw parties and host pop-ups, some of which are open to the public.

Who gets to go to New York Fashion Week?

NYFW is an event for industry professionals, and the majority of showgoers belong to a few key groups, each of which help publicize or sell the brands that invite them:

  • Press: This group includes editors, writers, critics, photographers, and bloggers. Some of them review shows; others pull looks for magazine shoots; yet others are there to spot trends. (The Devil Wears Prada 2 can’t come fast enough.)
  • Buyers: Whenever you go shopping at a department store, you’re looking through the work of buyers, or the people who determine which products will be stocked. They’re there to inspect quality and determine which pieces will be most in demand next season.
  • Stylists: Stylists dress celebrities and other high-powered clients, meaning they’re always on the hunt for new looks. After the shows, they coordinate with brands to pull pieces and entire looks for red carpets, galas, shoots, and other events.
  • Celebrities: A-listers, reality stars, influencers, and other notables fall into this group, which has become increasingly important for getting eyes on each collection. They’re often paid to attend and wear a certain brand, although this isn’t always the case.

Which celebrities will be at New York Fashion Week?

While it’s impossible to say just who might show up to this season’s shows before they happen, we have a few theories. Last season, the bigger shows drew names like Katie Holmes, Emily Ratajkowski, Greta Lee, Meghann Fahy, Chloë Sevigny, and Tracee Ellis Ross. Expect to see brand ambassadors, like Lola Tung for Coach, at the big shows. Real Housewives from every franchise often pop up on the NYFW circuit, and supermodels like Irina Shayk, Kendall Jenner, Precious Lee, Alex Consani, and Paloma Elsesser are also fixtures on the runway. But really, expect the unexpected—everyone from Jojo Siwa to Avril Lavigne could show up.

Who are the most exciting designers at New York Fashion Week?

There are dozens of shows, presentations, and previews on and off the official schedule this season, and we try to go to pretty much everything. The big stories this time around are 10-year anniversary shows for Brandon Maxwell and Monse, plus debut shows from the likes of SC103 and Maria McManus. And while we always look forward to huge productions like Michael Kors, Khaite, Calvin Klein, and Coach, these are our editors’ most-anticipated labels for the spring-summer 2026 season.

Glossier Cloud Paint Plush Blush Reviewed by an Editor

by jummy84 September 10, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s not often that you’ll find me fawning over yet another makeup launch, let alone a blush. But every beauty insider knows that Glossier Cloud Paint is far from your average blusher. Having flipped the world of minimalist makeup trends on its head all the way back in 2017, this iconic glowy blush has found its way into practically every beauty editor’s makeup bag—courtesy of its buildable pigment and a radiant finish.

And in my humble opinion, it paved the way for the whole cream blush movement before it even became a thing (a bold statement, I know). In fact, I can account for at least five emptied-out tubes that I’ve thrown out in the last four years alone. Now, imagine my excitement when I got wind of the news that Glossier is launching a new iteration of the Cloud Paint blusher—a hybrid plush formula that applies like a cream and dries down like powder for a soft-focused, blurred makeup look.

Full disclosure: I’ve sworn off powder formulas a good few years ago, and apart from an occasional dab of setting powder, my choice of makeup products often leans on the glowier side (read: skin tints, cream bronzers, liquid highlighters—you name it). So, although I was very much intrigued by the launch, at first, I was convinced that because of its powdery nature, the new Glossier blush wasn’t for me.

Best picks for you

From the get-go, I loved the packaging. In keeping with the brand’s aesthetic, it is minimalist yet playful, mirroring the colour of each shade on the outside. Housed inside each compact, the formula is unlike any blush I’ve tried so far (and that’s no mean feat, considering I’ve quite literally tested hundreds). The “memory cloud” soufflé-like texture means that each dab into the product feels like touching the softest Play-Doh.

Innovative textures aside, the shade range doesn’t disappoint either. With ten shades in total, four of said shades were inspired by the original Cloud Paint blush line-up (Puff, Beam, Soar and Storm), while the remaining six are brand-new additions. From wearable mauve-y pinks and bolder corals and reds to the more muted blonzer-esque shades, there’s no shortage of options to complement every skin tone.

Having opted for shade Puff (a neutral pinky hue), I first applied it using the brand’s new dual-ended Cloud Paint Cheek Brush, which features a pillowy-soft end that feels like applying makeup with your fingertips and a fluffy brush end designed to buff, diffuse and blend.

Make no mistake: this isn’t the most pigmented blusher on the market, but nor is it trying to be. It offers a buildable veil of flexible coverage that can be easily amped up if you’re after that dramatic look, but it’s also sheer enough to wear on a day-to-day basis.
